on in the world around us. If you want to
call and tell me two five one four seven nine
two seven two three. The telephone number for a live
call two five one four seven nine two seven two three.
Email address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. That's Uncle
Henri at iHeartMedia dot com. So we've had quite a
week just on the local level, just on the local level,
(02:22):
with all these these runoffs, many people now seeing a
clear path for the future, with the exciting election of
Mayor Colvin and Chickasaw, the exciting election of whoever that
is that won in Pritchard. I'll learn that eventually, I will.
I'll go to the trouble of learning who won eventually.
(02:43):
And also Spiro, Mayor Alex Spiro.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
We all know about that.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
But there was another news item that broke yesterday about
politics that I'm just I'm as delighted as I can be.
It is just it has lifted me up all day long.
It's I was already uplifted by a lot of the
election results, but now hearing the story, according to Yellowhammernews
(03:09):
dot com, hearing that Aj mccerron, the former Alabama Crimson
Tide Roll Tide Roll champion quarterback AJ McCarron considering a
run for state wine office. Yellowhammer reported, I guess it
was yesterday. They said that sources close to his decision
(03:32):
making process tell them that he will run for statewide
office in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
This is so good, This is so good.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
AJ McCarran running for statewide office in Alabama.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Roll time, roll.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
This has just been so wonderful for my mood, just
my mood alone. When you get to be my age,
you need and your body's falling apart and stuf like that,
sometimes you.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Like a mood booster. And this is a mood booster.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
The idea of AJ mccerron running for statewide office in
the state of Alabama. What a wonderful, What a wonderful,
wonderful thing. That is damn him running for office?
Speaker 1 (04:17):
And I love that. Yellowhammer.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
In their first line of their story, they say that
this is according to sources close to his decision making process.
I don't know who that is. Is it him, sources
closest to him, or is it sources close to missus McCarron.
I don't know who would be close to his decision
(04:40):
making process, and is he isn't he the decision maker?
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Or who knows?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I don't care At this point, I don't care. I'm
glad that he's considering it, and they say he will again,
I'm applauding again. I've had such a wonderful time today
remembering the times of Aj mckerron. Now Alabama went on
to great success after a jing. You may remember other
great quarterbacks. I had a lot of great quarterbacks to us,
(05:10):
Jalen Hurts and all them other guys, Mac Jones and
so many great quarterbacks. I'm now starting to forget them.
That's how wonderful it's been to be an Alabama fan.
But now you got Aj mccerron. It's been so wonderful
just remembering twenty eleven, twenty twelve. You may not remember
(05:32):
due to I don't know your lack of interest. I
don't know what's wrong in your life. But for those
of us that remember, it was a golden age. In
fact Alabama doing so well along with the SEC when
Aj was quarterback. The rest of the country they changed,
They changed how the championships happened in college football because
(05:55):
we kept winning too much. Do you remember that they
said this BC it, we got to get rid of
this BCS. Here comes Sabin and mcerrn again. We've got
to get rid of this BCS Shane. College football changed
due to the excellence of Sabing with mccairr and his quarterback,
that whole, that whole l s U, that championship, with
(06:16):
LSU and Alabama in the championship game, the rest of
college football had they couldn't handle it. They just it
was over. They were they had, they were being beaten
down into submission, and they had to change the rules
get get some playoffs so we can get some Appalachian state.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
In here or something.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
What a wonderful time, What a wonderful time it was
to be an Alabama fan, And so I love it.
I love the idea of AJ mccerrn running for state
wide office in the state of Alabama. Now I know
that coach Tubb, who's currently in the Senate, is going
to run for governor of Alabama.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I'm all right with that.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
He's he's done okay as a senator. He's made All
of the people that get mad at him are people.
I like it that they're mad. Yes, Tuberville irritating people
that I like being irritant. I like those people to
be irritated that he's irritating so that's and why not
go ahead and be governor Tuberville. But wouldn't it be
(07:18):
wonderful if a j could get elected as lieutenant governor.
I don't think you know, he's not been in he's
not held office before, so it'd be a great way
to learn. What does a lieutenant governor do? Does anybody know?
I think when k Ivy was lieutenant governor, all I
(07:38):
noticed she would go on Twitter or her staff would
and just post pictures of her with people in Montgomery
just I think she just went around took selfies, and.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
He can do that.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Think of the wonderful message that would send to the
rest of the world if the state of Alabama, if
we had a former football coach as the governor and
then a former a former National championship quarterback as our
lieutenant governor.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
I just love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I want it to happen. And what would that message
be that we would send to the rest of the
world if we had a football coach governor and a
quarterback lieutenant governor. What message would that send to the
rest of the country. I don't know, but I like,
I like I like that that would be the message.
(08:32):
I don't know what it would mean, but I'd like it.
I love it, and I hope it happens. All right,
there's more to come. I've got additional Uncle Henry Show
to talk. They won't let me leave yet. I'm contractually
obligated to be in here for a while, so I'll
be back with more Uncle Henry Show after.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
After the break.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
The Uncle Henry Show on News Radio seventy ten WNTM.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Uncle Henry's Show.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
It is five twenty news headlines coming up in ten minutes.
Telephone number two five one four seven nine two seven
two three. That's two five one four seventy nine two
seventy two three. Got some callers waiting, So let me
run to the telephones here. Now I don't actually run
unless being chased, but let me move my fingers to
(09:46):
the control board to activate the phone lines.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Hello, caller, gooding me, Uncle Henry Bert Bert.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
You are live on the radio.
Speaker 5 (09:58):
Now. You know that I'm alife. Yes, But I saw
something about aj McCarron on Facebook just within the last
two or three days, about some kind of political issue
that really impressed me. He seemed to have a grasp
of whatever it was, and he seemed to agree with
(10:18):
me on whatever issue was, and he would have my
support on whatever office he ran for.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Wonderful.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Now I'm going to say something controversial.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Okay, that's well, talk shows kind of like that. So
what controversial thing can you offer to the listeners.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Of I hope he runs against Tubberville for the nomination
for governor. I have never been impressed with Tuberville. I
remember telling you many years ago that I would have
supported Tuberville and whatever office he ran for until he
actually held office.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Okay, now, what did you not like about him?
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Just about everything?
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Really? What anything? Can you give me any example? Some
me did you didn't like?
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (11:04):
One thing? He is supported by pro amnesty groups, and
so is Katie Britt. Now bear in mind with trumping
office amnesty, it is probably not likely to happen. But
there have been several decisions that he has made a
Senator that I have not supported, and I kind of
wish he'd have stayed at Auburn and Sessions had stayed
(11:24):
in the Senate. I was always a Session supporter, and
when when Sessions ran to get her his old job back,
I voted for him.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Well that's well, those days are gone now. But you
would like to see a J versus Tubby.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I would you know what I would I wouldn't mind
that at all.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
I think that would be one of the most entertaining
governor's races in the history of the United States of America.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
I would love that, would Yes.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Wouldn't it? Yes, Uncle Henry. One more thing, Yeah, here,
my band is playing at the M and R Lounge
on Theodor Dalls Road tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Night, The M and R Lounge on Theodore Dawes Road
tomorrow night, Friday night. And it's your band, Rip Van
Rock exactly.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
M and R is kind of hard to spote. It's
at the far end of a strip mall on Pheugh
Door Dawes.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Now, what does the M and the R stand for?
Speaker 5 (12:27):
I know that the R stands for Randy. I don't
know his last name, but he's the same guy that
runs the Blues Tavern.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
Okay, oh, okay, all right, I.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Don't really know what the M stands for.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
All right, Well, we can make something up that's even
more fun.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
There you go. But if you see a little strip
mall with a whole bunch of cars down on the
far right ends, that's the M and R.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
All right.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Well, I won't be able to be there this Friday night,
but sooner or later I will be coming to one
of your performances. Bird, I do promise you that.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
And one more thing on Henriet, There's going to be
another benefit at the Blues Tavern that's coming Sunday for
a friend of my drummer named Brinson Cross.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Yes, I think okay, great and I think I saw
that on Facebook earlier. If I can find it tomorrow,
I will talk.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
It up for you.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Thank you for taking a call to Henry, and thank
you for your support.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Well Bert, thank you and good luck to you and
your band Rip Van Rock performing tomorrow night at the
M and R on Theodore Dales Road. What an exciting
we just what a hotbed of musical talent we have
here on the Guff Coast. Two five one four three
the telephone number. Wouldn't that be fun? It would be
(13:43):
fun if AJ ran against Tubby and an Alabama an
Alabama person took over the governor's office. We've had an
Auburn person in there, Kivy. That would be wonderful to
seize control of the governor's office away from Auburn and
put it back in the hands of Alabama. That'd be outstanding.
(14:04):
Hello Color, Johnny Grin, Johnny gwn, you are live on
the radio.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Question of the day, What if AJ mccerroon is running
in a Democratic Party ticket, Well, you vote for him? No, okay,
all right, there you go. No, I'm with you. I'm
with you. He's a mentor, Saban. He's known to be
a Demo, known Democrat.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Well, and and look, I don't like to I don't
know how known that is. I think a lot of
people guess, a lot of people speculate, and you speculatory
knowledge when they say that, I'm not willing to think
that yet.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
His best friend of the Democratic governor of West Virginia.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Look, I've heard all these things, but I'm not going
to I am not going to. He needs to come
out and say it, and then I'll believe it.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
I would imagine he's more of a classical liberal Democrat,
more so than I would say the kind of looney
aggressive ones they got now though.
Speaker 6 (15:05):
Well he is.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
He's probably like a lot of Americans that they are
common sense and they just try to do what they
think makes sense and the label doesn't matter as much.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
I bet he's also a big on metopathy, so you
know we we know that from watching them.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yes, indeed, well talking to you and wait, hey, wait,
wait before before you go, I saw, I saw you
made a comment on I. Look, I'll follow Johnny Glenn,
Johnny Gwyn very closely on X on the X app
and yes, and Johnny Gwenn was you had a comment
(15:44):
on X about the Spiro victory over Barbara Drummond about
how about the money money versus money?
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Right, So Scott Kiendall and I were talking. He just
did over Greenks and he mentioned they spent one point
Spiro's campaign spent one point seven million dollar campaign and
the Barble Drumming campaign spent five and a half five
hundred and fifty thousand dollars, So you've almost got a
three to one money campaign and he only won by
(16:17):
four hundred votes. Yeah, the Drumming campaigned highly overperformed, and
that I hope the campaign understands, the Spireau campaign understands
that it's not a pandate and he has a lot
of work to do well.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
And I'm sure they do, and I'm sure they've thought
about that. What I'm curious, why do you think she
couldn't get across the finish line. What do you think
it was? Because I'm thinking that she fired up some
voters just with all these out of town endorsements.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
You know, I don't Mobile is such a weird market.
I mean, again, you look at the demographics. She paimed
well because demographicy. She did well because demographics right. And
also I thought there'd be a lot less vote that runoff.
That That's what I mean. That's a lot of votes
for runoff.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
For me, Well, that shows that both campaignsten did.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Did you feel that I did?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
But it just shows that both of those campaigns worked really,
really hard to turn out the vote. They just really
got it. They they knew the stakes, and they they
really courted those voters that voted for Connie Hudson and
Paul Prime.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Right. And I think a lot of Prime people sat home.
I feel That's what I feel like. I can't say that, dad,
as I think a lot of Prime people sat home. Well,
I thought Steel would have won by a lot more,
just by the sure way that it was gonna shake
out and runoff.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
All right, Well, hey, I'm up on the break. Johnny Gwinn,
Thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
You have a great day, uncle.
Speaker 1 (17:47):

Hello caller, Hello Agle Henry.
Speaker 8 (19:29):
Rob Morris here.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Rob Morris, You are live on the radio.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
Well, I thank you for having me, sir. Look here
I got something I want to tell.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
You talk to you about.
Speaker 7 (19:40):
Uh, there's a fellow named Andy Ellsworth who was almost
charged for criminal trespassing on Big Creek Lake by the
month ago. Yeah, well they ended up, you know, not
charging an email and I actual beating a warrant that
was about a month ago. Well, last weekend, I took
my podcast outdoors on Henry went out to be Creek
(20:01):
Late and set there and watch them go get up
there in the kayak and piers and just didn't just.
Speaker 6 (20:05):
Shove up there at the lake.
Speaker 8 (20:07):
You know.
Speaker 6 (20:07):
It was nice to get out in the studio.
Speaker 7 (20:09):
Well, today I just heard that Malls is stepping up
their legal action against people going to Big Creek Lake.
So I'm thinking of that they're going to arrest Andy
Ellsworth and get a horn on him for being there.
They miles of get one from me and my crew
and everyone else was there to support taking back Big
Creek Late from Malls because we had a lot of
(20:31):
people out there. Uncle Henry them I golla come get
us all.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Well, now I have not heard about some type of
stepped up enforcement. What have you heard, tell tell me
and the listeners what you've heard about malls stepping up enforcement.
Speaker 7 (20:44):
Well, wpm I put out a statement of release on
their few seed saying that very thing that they were reporting,
that Malls is stepping up the enforcement of any trespassing
on Big Creek Lake period. It was out bringing the
laws that not even stepping on the laws property and
stayed property from the Highway ninety eight to the power lines,
(21:07):
and nobody across the power lines. We just went around
the gate, around that fence and took the kayaks and
a boat and they went and lost them and get
some fishing, and we just sat in out chairs and
it's had a good old time. People are homing our
horns into going by supporting everything we're doing. And now
the time, I'm not arresting everybody, so I guess, and
I getting me too. I'll be Mobile's most warming way when.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
You get if they give you a phone call, the
make the call to the show, or just call my
voicemail from jail, because I love getting jail calls.
Speaker 7 (21:45):
I'll do that very thing. I'm gonna call DJ Evans
come getting me out of jail, because he's got a
bell bombing service downtown. Okay, I think i'd be all
right and I'll give you a call.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
All right, Hey, thank you for the update, Rob Morris.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Quite well, Concer, have a good day you too.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
And if you want to find his podcast, go on
Facebook and look for Mobile Pirate Radio. That's Mobile Pirate
Radio and you'll find that man's podcast. Let's see two
five one four seven nine two three the telephone number
to call the Uncle Henry Show.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Hello, caller.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Good, you know Hendry Cliff Cliff, you are live on
the radio.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
Okay, Hendry, and you know how you can tell when
people are really gonna backcrap?
Speaker 8 (22:32):
Crazy?
Speaker 6 (22:33):
How the mayor Brandon Johnson was Hotel division and he said, now.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
I'm sorry to interrupt you. Is this the mayor of Chicago?
Speaker 6 (22:45):
Chicago?
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Okay, okay, what did he say?
Speaker 6 (22:49):
He said that, uh, the funeral homes in Chicago should
sue Donald Trump if he brings a murder rate down.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Okay, you know I was bracing myself for something that sounded, uh,
as you said, Matt Crab crazy. I didn't expect that.
That is that is a new level.
Speaker 6 (23:15):
Well the last mayor, she said, now, I didn't even
know the woman was gay. But they asked her a question.
They say, like, you know, how do you feel you
spend sixty thousand dollars a month or so on security
and your people are not protected. And she say, I
don't care what y'all say. I'm gonna make sure my
(23:37):
wife and children are safe.
Speaker 9 (23:39):
You know what.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
I'm like, whoa she gave you? I didn't even know that.
So they say, they tell you right, they face fight
on them that they ain't that. Uh, the people, they
say to people. But you know, you know when we
the people, come in when when we want you to
do something stupid and like rye killed somebody or hurt
somebody or clog up the streets, that's when weird people.
(24:01):
When we want to get elected again, we need you.
We are the people, but there ain't the people. When
they're doing good and the money's led around here like
six hundred million, close to a billion dollars, you give
it to the legal aliens and they ain't drop a
dime on nobody in Chicago. But uh, that's life. If
(24:22):
you stupid. Stupid is what stupid does. And if you
play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. And we got
a lot of stupid voters. You got bless the man.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Thank you very much, Cliff uh and I have been
blessed by your phone call two five one four seven
nine two seven two three. And Cliff has let us
know through the years that he is too blessed to
be stressed, too, too blessed to be stressed. Two five
(24:53):
to one four seven nine two seven two three. The
number to call the Uncle Henry show. That's two five
to one or seven nine two seven two three. Email
address Uncle henrietiheartmedia dot Com. Let me say, I've got
a voicemail. Let's see if I have time to share
with you this voicemail from someone claiming to be Patonelly.
Speaker 10 (25:18):
Hey Pat Nelly, I hope you're having a great afternoon.
Hey listen, did you watch some memorial for Charlie Kirk?
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yes, yes, I did.
Speaker 8 (25:29):
Ye me to.
Speaker 10 (25:32):
The thing that has stuck with me all week that
I keep playing over and over in my head, which
it was an awesome memorial.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
I watched all of it, every bit of it.
Speaker 10 (25:41):
I'd pause it and go back to it, pause it,
go back to it. But the thing that really keeps
coming to the forefront of my mind is our political
leaders almost every leader in the federal government was witnessing
for Christ. Now that's astonishing. I'm floored by that, huh.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
And I'm pausing the message there just to tell Pat
if he is listening, I had the exact same that was.
That was my number one. I had a lot of
takeaways from it because I've never seen an event like
that before. That was my number one takeaway was, Wow,
when have we had all these political leaders and people
(26:29):
are around politics doing that just just basically witness witnessing
for Christ. I mean, Mark Marco Rubio gave an incredible
speech from Jesus Christ. That was the number one takeaway
for There were a lot of takeaways. That was number one.
Speaker 10 (26:47):
And I know that Christians have been praying over and
over again that God would heal our land, and everybody
turned back to him. Well with the death of Charlie Kirk,
I think it was a catalyst to turn this country
back to God. And I think for all those Christians
(27:10):
that's been prayed, we really need to tell God how
grateful for you are we are.
Speaker 8 (27:16):
For that.
Speaker 10 (27:18):
I'm just floored.
Speaker 8 (27:19):
I'm happy. It's positive.
Speaker 10 (27:22):
It's good signs. I know that the left is fighting
us hard, but they're always gonna fight anyways, unt I
hope you have a great afternoon, and I hope we
beat the heck out of Georgia and Roll Tide.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Roll Tied Roe, Pat Nellick. Thank you very much. I
appreciate your phone call.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Voicemail number is two five one two one six, nineteen
seventy six. That's two five one two one six, nineteen
seventy six to leave a message for the Uncle Henry Show.
I'll be back with more after the break.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Uncle Henry's Show.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
News Radio seventy ten WNTM.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
It is five point fifty.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
We have news headlines coming up from Fox in ten minutes,
and then more Uncle Henry's Show after six o'clock. Now,
I have been doing the entire show on YouTube live,
but we have a quite a thunderstorm right where I'm
doing the show here in the beautiful iHeartMedia Studios located
(28:53):
at five Fine five Broadcast Driving Mobile. Big thunderstorm, and
the power has gone on on and off several times.
It is it's I've stayed on the air. I've stayed
on the radio, thank the Lord, but knocked off of YouTube.
So if you're one of the people that was watching
me on YouTube. Uh, everything got turned off. That computer
got turned off. But here we are two five one
(29:17):
four seven nine two seven two three the telephone number
here on the elk Leander Show. Before I go any further,
I've one more voicemail I want to get to before
amount of time for this hour of the program.
Speaker 11 (29:27):
Well, tied, i's gonna good Thursday afternoon to you.
Speaker 12 (29:32):
Got a little bit of the football coming on the night,
one college game and one professional.
Speaker 11 (29:36):
Wonder and curious if you're going to be checking that out.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
But all right, well.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
I'll answer that question before we go in with the
rest of your voicemail.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
I want.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
I do enjoy football as an entertainment, as I always have,
but I spend less time with it in my in
the years that I am now the stage of my life,
I'm spending less time with it. Most of my football
time now devoted to some college football on the weekend.
I haven't watched any pro yet this year. I will
(30:04):
not be watching eddy football tonight. But let me know
how it goes, let me know if I need to
check out the highlights. All right, back to your voice.
Speaker 12 (30:12):
Ma'am checking that out. But another thing that I called
you about, there's a new.
Speaker 11 (30:19):
Channel that's gonna start on the television the twenty ninth
of September, which is this coming Monday, premier in Monday,
September twenty ninth West and it stands for Western Entertainment
Series Television and I believe, Yeah, it's owned by me TV.
(30:42):
Hold on minute drops phone. Yeah, and just to give
you kind of a sampling, Oh, the new channel will
feature classic Western TV series like gun Smoke and Bonanza,
reaching over half of US households initially and available on
Dish Channel three seventy two. Of course I'll be watching
(31:02):
it off the Rabbit Ears, but outstanding Uncle more westerns.
I can't wait, ROTI ro.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Tedrow, thank you for the roll tides, sixty eight year
old Chris of West Lonxley, and I love that. I
love that there's yet another Western channel being made available
to people that still are using the Rabbit Ears. Now,
I doubt that a younger person is listening to this show.
Maybe maybe you're Maybe there's a younger person taking care
(31:31):
of an older relative and their older relative is forcing
them to listen to this. But for the younger person,
you may find it hard to believe. But once upon
a time, the Western was the number one dominant genre
for television shows. It was it was number It was
(31:52):
the number one dominant genre. There were there were more
Westerns that I can count that used to be on TV,
and I guess that would have in late fifties into
the mid sixties. I don't know why that was. I
think it might have been that they were cheap to make.
Some of the shows used each other's scripts. They would
(32:16):
just take this script and hand it over to another
show and they'd put different cowboys in it. But yeah,
and Americans loved it. Americans tuned in and watched it.
You mentioned Gun Smoke, that was on for one of
the longest running TV shows in television history. But the
ones that I like the most were the thirty minute
black and white gun Smokes. They told a complete story
(32:41):
in a little less than thirty minutes. Now, if you're
short on time, you know, nowadays people watch TV series,
they'll binge them and they'll spend eight hours, twelve hours
watching all this stuff. You could get a complete story
in thirty minutes. And because the name of the show
(33:02):
was gun Smoke, you were guaranteed a gun would be discharged,
So there was some action as well, Gun Smoke good.
So many of those shows were good if you want
to find and Bonanza, of course was one of the
top TV shows of all time.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Those are both great.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
If you want something a little more off kilter, I
would suggest you go find and you can find all
this stuff on YouTube. Go check out Have Gun Will Travel.
That was quite, in my personal opinion, quite the unusual Western.
But anyway, that was great. Sixty eight year old Chris,
(33:46):
thank you for telling me that there's going to be
yet another Western channel called West, debuting on the twenty ninth.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
There's more to come.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
In fact, after the break, after the news break, I've
got more coverage from yesterday's Mobile City Council meeting. There
was some stuff that I forgot to tell you about,
so we'll get into that and other stuff as the
Uncle Henry Show continues here on news Radio seven ten.
(34:41):
This Sysney Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio seven
ten WNTM, and I thank you very much for listening
to the Uncle Henry Show. Now in this half hour
of show, I got some listener voicemail to get to
also have a little bit of coverage from yesterday's Mobile
(35:02):
City Council meeting. Some stuff I didn't get a chance
to get to yesterday.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
I thought you would be interested.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
In some comments a lady made at the Mobile City
Council meeting about District two. Now we've had our municipal
elections in Alabama, and we've had our runoff, and now
we know that Spiro is going to be the mayor
of Mobile, and we also know everybody else in the
Mobile City Council that's going to be on the council
when the new council is seated, except for District two.
(35:36):
Now there's a lawsuit involving District two. Let's see. Here
is Lenis La gon of Fox ten. This was a report.
I don't know if this was from yesterday or the
day before, but here is Lenis La Goon, the very
popular television anchor lady, explaining this.
Speaker 9 (35:55):
I'm developing election news for you this hour. A judge
has set a hearing for October regarding Mobile City Councilman
William Carroll's election challenge. Caroll lost his reelection bid last
month to Samantha Ingram. He says Ingram, however, is ineligible
to hold office because she doesn't meet residency requirements and
(36:15):
contends her vote in Georgia for the twenty twenty four
presidential election show she was not a resident of Mobile. However,
Ingram's lawyers argue that the law only requires that she
was a resident for ninety days before the election. The
judge will hear arguments on this October fifteenth on Ingram's
requests that Carroll's challenge be dismissed.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Okay, so we're still waiting to find out. Will it
be Samantha Ingram. She whooped him and whooped him real
good in the election, and now we're going to wait
to see if she becomes the council person for District
two or if there will be a new election. And
William Carroll, in order to file this was required to
(36:58):
put up leave twenty five grand just to just to
go ahead, just to move forward.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
With this lawsuit.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
You had to put up twenty five grand to pay
the cost of a special election in District two. And
I find it all very curious. I don't understand a
lot of it. I don't understand why he would go
to the trouble of coming up with twenty five grand
and filling the lawsuit when if they have a special
(37:26):
special election, I think she'll be qualified to run against
him and whoop him again. And even if she doesn't qualify,
to run him whoop him again. I think the residents
of District two, I think they are looking for somebody else.
You may remember that that Levon Mansei, Levon Mansey whooped him,
(37:49):
and then Levon Mansey passed away. And the only reason,
the only reason William Carroll got in the last four years,
is because his main opponent passed away. The residents of
District two have consistently shown a preference for anybody but
William Carroll.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
But there he is.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
So here's a lady that spoke at the Mobile City
Council meeting yesterday. She is from District to She was
expressing displeasure that they were having to go through this
election challenge. Let's listen together to what this lady had
to say.
Speaker 13 (38:29):
I'm Beverly Cooper. I am a resident of District two.
One month ago this week, voters from across District two
and the city went to the polls in our regular
municipal elections. The election results in each of those races
was clear, with unmistakable winners and losers. Unfortunately, despite the
voters making their choices clear, there's an effort in District
(38:51):
two to overturn the vote of thousands of citizens just
because we voted for change. I and many other voters
are deeply just about this desperate effort to cling to.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Power, cling to power, A desperate effort to cling to power.
Now I'm going to on pause. I'm going to let
you hear the rest of this. But I am a
desperate I'm just focusing a desperate attempt to cling to power.
Do any of us want to be a clinger? Now
(39:26):
that's a maybe we do. Maybe you can come up
with some good reasons to be a clinger, But do
any of us really want to be called a clinger?
As William Carol appears to be a desperate clinger?
Speaker 13 (39:38):
For weeks, if not months, news stories, social media videos,
and much more were pushed out in an effort to
undermine miss Ingram's residency in the City of Mobile. Despite
their best efforts, the voters decisively chose her to represent
them for the coming four years.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
By the way this letter, I'm sorry to pause her again,
but this lady's making an excellent point. The voters knew
that there was a question about Samantha Ingram's residency. They
knew that it was out there, it was in land Yamp,
it was on the news. They still voted for in
great number. They still voted for her more than him.
Speaker 13 (40:18):
By nearly a ten percentage points. In recent years, we've
seen national politicians take aim at election results that they
didn't like. Those efforts to subvert elections have badly damaged
our democracy. It would be shameful if similar efforts are
perpetuated locally. The residents of District two deserve to be
(40:39):
represented by the candidate of their choice, our choice, miss ingram.
Speaker 6 (40:44):
Further.
Speaker 13 (40:44):
Ahead of the recent annexation, many citizens raised the concern
of the impact of annexation would have on the continued
under representation of the city's majority black population. Last month
and yesterday's election should give us concrete in site on
what that impact is. I urged the City Council to
look in to and release that information for all of us.
Speaker 10 (41:07):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
All right, So the lady didn't like those Ye didn't
like the new neighborhoods coming in with the annexation, but
focused mainly on the desperate clinging of William Carroll, with
her accusing him of desperately clang into power all right, Well,
I don't know how this is going to turn out.
I don't know if there's going to be a new
(41:29):
election or if Samantha Ingram will go ahead and get
to be on the council. But if William Carroll is
going Let's remember the positives that William Carroll brought to
the table. Let's see, he loved historic neighborhoods. In fact,
he said something about how they keep him engorged or something.
Speaker 14 (41:50):
I don't even know if there was a stronger advocate
for historic preservation in the city on the council other
than myself. So I am deeply in gorged in those neighborhoods.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
I actually he's deeply engorged in historic neighborhoods. So if
you're if you want, if you want a politician that's
engorged deeply as they cling desperately, that would be William Carroll.
I also appreciate that he would use the mobile City
Council meeting to teach us about Archimedes.
Speaker 14 (42:22):
For me, this is awesome. You know, I'm one of
those science geeks. I say. Archimedes is the father of
curved geometry and the calculus.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
You know, he often says things about Archimedes, just in conversation.
Speaker 14 (42:38):
Then, you know, so I think I'm gonna bring my
fourteen year old daughter, my son's twenty six. He may
not have the interest the way I do anymore, you know.
But the one thing that we all remember Archimedes for
is when.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
He said, we all remember Archimedes, give me a focus.
I was talking to Archimedes the other day. I was
at a party on Bayfront Road with some people from
the Buccaneer Yacht Club, and it was talking about Archimedes.
Any well, we'll miss that, won't we miss that? From
William Carroll, the Engorgement and the Archimedes. All right, look more,
I'm gonna get to some voicemail after the break, but
(43:11):
first gonna take a break for traffic and weather and
words from our sponsors.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Let's take the break.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
It sysday Uncle Henry's show here on news Radio seventy
ten WNTM news headlines coming you way in ten minutes.
Before we get there, some voicemail from a listener, by
the way, the voicemail number two five one two one six,
(43:55):
nineteen seventy six. That's two five one two one six
nineteen seven to leave a message for the Uncle Henry
Show and the listeners of the Uncle Henry Show. Now,
this is a message about the Dolphin Island, the Dolphin
Island fox, sea turtle, bird controversy with the legal proceedings
(44:20):
between people who are trying to protect different animals. You
have the fox advocates, you have the sea turtle and
bird advocates. You've got a lot of animal advocates at
each other over the foxes and whether or not they
should be removed and euthanized.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
Let me go to the voicemail.
Speaker 8 (44:39):
Hey, good afternoon, Uncle Henry. This is our team. Yeah,
Uncle Henry. I'm a resident of Midtown Mobile, a living
district three. But today I would like to comment on
maybe some Dolphin Island politics.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Wow. Okay.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Oh, and by the way, I'm pausing there, and I
apologize already for pausing. I think I mentioned this a
few days ago. Wouldn't this be wouldn't this be just
an incredible headache if you are a council person, a
city council person on Dolphin Island or the mayor Dolphin
Island to have people fighting over foxes and sea turtles
(45:22):
and birds. And you know, and I say that because
these people I believe everybody involved is good hearted. I
I'm making that assumption. Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe I should
not make that assumption.
Speaker 5 (45:37):
Don't draw conclusions, because if you do, you're going to
be wrong.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
You can draw them if you want, just be wrong.
Speaker 8 (45:44):
I guess you all don't have any consequences for being wrong.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
All right, Well, look, I'm drawing a conclusion that the
people that are advocating for foxes and the other people
that are advocating for sea turtles and the people advocating
for birds, I'm making the I'm drawing the conclusion that
they're good hearted because they're they're trying to help animals.
They're trying to help the animals, and they're passionate about
helping the animals. And I think these are probably people
(46:08):
that I would enjoy meeting. But anyway, but wouldn't it
be a headache? Wouldn't that be a headache as a
politician down there to try and figure out the best
solution so that everybody's not wanting to burn down city
Hall because you disrespected a fox or disrespected a sea turtle.
Speaker 1 (46:26):
All right, back to the voicemail.
Speaker 8 (46:29):
Uncle Henry, I'm on the side of the foxes.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (46:34):
Those foxes, to me, have just as much right to
be there as all the tuggles and the birds and
everybody else.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
The foxes have rights, the right to.
Speaker 8 (46:45):
Be there, and their answer to kill and destroy the foxes.
I'm upset about that. Now I understand there was a
fox cartel that supposedly traffick those foxes to Dolphin Island.
What and did it without approval or anything. If that's
(47:10):
the case, then those foxes should be deported.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
A fox cartel, I've not heard of this.
Speaker 8 (47:19):
You can safely capture the foxes, set up an alligator alcatraz,
just full foxes, and we can look for places to
deport and relocate the foxes that I can go for.
But killing the foxes just look that, that's not right.
(47:45):
I was taught. If anybody on Dolphin Island, I think
we should want more pollution for every fox. If anybody
kills the fox on Dolphin Island, you must sit down
and eat that fox for dinner. Those are my rules.
That's what I do when I kill an animal. It's
either I want to eat the animal or I'm scared
(48:08):
from my life. Makes sense to me, it's the good,
good rules to live anyway, thank you very much, Uncle Henry.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Have a great day, Roll Tadroll, Hey Artie. Thank you
you've you've You've provoked thought in my head. Thank you
for provoking thought in my head. The rule of if
you whatever you're gonna kill down there, you got to eat.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (48:33):
I guess I'll have to ask Snake Trapper if he
has ever had fox, if that is something he's He's
eating a lot of wild things. I don't know if
he's eating fox. Chat while I'll ask him. I know
he's eating turtle now. Snake Trapper would love to remove
sea turtles, probably even though he would not because it's
an endangered species. But I'm sure that Snake Trapper has
(48:58):
a lot of ideas on how we could handle the
sea turtles, or, if not ideas, just recipes. But Rtie,
thank you, RTI very thought provoking. Voicemail voicemail number two
five one two one six, nineteen seventy six to leave
a message for the Uncle Henry Show about whatever it
(49:18):
is that you need to get out there now out
