It's the Flavor Podcast Network, the Flavor Breakfast Podcast with Stace,
Azara and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
On today's podcast, we caught up with one New Zealand
Warrior player, Marcelo Montoya.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
And there is one bakery you can go to for
the rest of your life. What bakery is it?
Speaker 4 (00:16):
And we celebrate a wonderful master in twenty years of
Stacey Morrison here at Flavor here right here on the podcast,
Everybody Monna.
Speaker 5 (00:27):
Moderna still feeling the rhythm and Bengo vibes. We had
our first night last night of musical Bengo run by
a Jingo at the Hangarbar and Henderson.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
It was such a vibe out on a school night,
a by packed full house. Ye Honestly, when I was
looking at video after right, we had a little real
that Mikayla put up. I was like, bro, it was
choker fright to back, side to side. Hang A Bar
was the place to be yesa for rhythm and binger.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
But it was also so fun.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
So you have all of these songs going, all talks
of these songs and people like dance and Alive hip
up and Aaronbana singing and no other bets and and
you know, the whole crowd's going, everyone's dancing, and then
I was like, I don't know how we're going to
go with these random songs. Oh, don't worry, they know the.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Girl you hat.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
So congratulations to all the winners from Rhythm and Bingo
last night. If you missed, Oh my gosh, check out
all the action on Flavor Radio's Instagram and of course
Facebook as well.
Speaker 6 (01:26):
Today is going to be a huge day.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
We not only had Big Poppa three balloons cash inside
you should know the drill by now, but it's also
Stacey Morrison's twentieth anniversary here at this company.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yeah weird.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
So that means that Flavor started, you know, just under
twenty years ago as well.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Wow, so twenty years of Flavor.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
She's got balloons floating behind her, a big two. Oh,
the whole of eight a m will be dedicated to you.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
I don't think, yeah, gentle about me.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Okay, Well, it's going to be huge, Happy Friday.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
It's about to get really special, Okay for.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
The next hour because we celebrate Stacey Morrison formerly Stacey Daniels,
which is you know these A lot of.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
People still say that only lost Stacey Daniels.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Two thousand and four. I was a missed out in Flavor.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Well, so yeah, it's going to be an incredible hour.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Do not go anywhere. Let's let's kick this off the
right way, eh, Tom. We're celebrating the twentieth anniversary.
Speaker 7 (02:36):
Of Stace starting in Flavor, and I'm back like a
virus that recurs.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
So twenty years at this company, but let's not forget.
You know, twenty years, I mean almost duty years.
Speaker 6 (02:53):
On air as a broadcaster.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
And you know, I just have to say, personally, as
another female in the bra casting industry, it's impressive to
even just be on air for that long, be alone
being a female, and also you know, getting married, having
three children. It's just it's so inspiring for someone like me.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
It's it's goals. It's just the ultimate goals.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
And that gives me good context. Thank you, because I'd
love that for you as well.
Speaker 6 (03:18):
Yeah, I would love that for me too.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
And you know, if we were to go back twenty
years ago when you first started here at Flavor, you
know who was who's that.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Boss that you know?
Speaker 8 (03:29):
Quite well?
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Who's that? Who's that?
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Well?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Who is it for? My dad?
Speaker 5 (03:33):
James Daniels and The funny thing is is the rumor
at the time is that Stacey and her dad had
bought a radio station.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
We didn't buy the radio station. We couldn't have bought
the radio station.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
But he was my boss, yes, and you know James
Daniels JD.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
Of course we had to get your boss from twenty
years ago to sing you a little message.
Speaker 9 (03:52):
Talk withe.
Speaker 10 (03:54):
This is a voice from day one of Flavor, a
blast from the past.
Speaker 9 (03:58):
If you like, I was.
Speaker 10 (03:59):
Your news in the early days of Flavor. I am
the Shadow. I've got very fond memories from twenty years ago,
working with you and Oscar, then doctor Farney and Pete
the Parlangy, and I love being part of what we
then called the full Fat Breakfast. And I sometimes got
behind the wheel of the Flavor hummer, but spent most
of my time behind the mic as the Shadow. I
(04:21):
was replaced by the ridiculously handsome Brendan pong Ere, who
hit me up in a bar on Constantly Road one
night and he offered to do what I did for nothing,
so he stepped in and did it. But I want
to congratulate you for your and Flavor's twentieth anniversary. You're
the definition of a townger and a tor hunger as well.
You're a leader, beautiful. My time with you and your
(04:43):
crew is a highlight of my life, although a couple
of incidents stand out for me. One is when I
read a news story about the mayor of Upper Hut
and I lost it when I found that his name
was Wayne Guppy.
Speaker 9 (04:56):
He's still mayor and I'm not there.
Speaker 10 (04:58):
So memorable moment was when I got tongue tied ranting
about a New Zealand born Brisbane Bronco who didn't want
to play for the Kiwis.
Speaker 9 (05:07):
That was Carmichael Hunt.
Speaker 10 (05:10):
But that was then and this is now so once
again of day, so I congratulate you on your twenty
years at the company that owns Flavor and to the
station itself as well. So this is your former Flavor newsreader.
The shadow, and i'll paraphrase the Empire strikes back by saying, Stace,
I am your father.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Lea'st do the check.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Yeah, So now you know, if you listen back, then
you're like, who's the shadow here?
Speaker 3 (05:40):
We are of yours? It was my dad and yes,
just guess.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
How it went so wrong when he tried to say
Carmichael Hunts.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Oh, I know where that went.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Labor started twenty four in two thousand and four as
well established and the most important thing is that flavor
is still going on. I mean, you don't want the
status station and then going and then remember that time
it fell over.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
But twenty years strong labor as well.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
Yeah, that's tough.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
So you know, I've always been quite curious about what
Stay sounded like on are all those years ago, in
the early days, you know what I mean? And you
know there was this one fuller that you worked with.
Speaker 6 (06:20):
His name was rhymes with feet.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
What was his name?
Speaker 6 (06:24):
Pete Pete the parlang par dony And what's.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Funny about this voice breakers to me? You sound the same,
but I mean only everyone else decide. This was stace
on Ere in the early days.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
And welcome to the breakas that is full.
Speaker 11 (06:38):
Bead on your Papa Friday.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
We love it like that, especially so for good morning
piece Balany.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
Good morning, it's Papa Briday.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Fabulous, So we are have you reached down deeper side
and fine fabulous?
Speaker 6 (06:51):
A good way to go into the world.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Black class Friday.
Speaker 9 (06:55):
Your boundary of a great.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Weekend, No doubt You've got great plans on hand as
well paid you start actually.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Going up north. I'm going to shake to night.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
How can I forget there?
Speaker 12 (07:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Shake tonight I get to Jude's booty comp' gothered about
so yeah, yeah, but you're well experienced now and then
I'm going up lord here and we're going to stay
at one of my friend's apparents house.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
I'm just gonna just just gonna get out of Auckland.
Just do that nice. You haven't been away for it.
I mean you suddenly last week and caning week with
four and stuff looks smarter.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
You know.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Now you're going to somewhere really beautiful up north. Have
you've got a nice weekend planning? Oak labor heads. We're
gonna sit you on your way. We've got lots of
nice things for you to win real soon. How about
you take out maddical. I guess about time he did
that last time.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Today?
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Also you have to shake and a special delivery. People
are going to be picked up by an old school
ride and taken in style.
Speaker 9 (07:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
The po their breakfast, they store sharp.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
I feel like they found it isn't in that wost
break because he was late.
Speaker 13 (08:00):
I feel like so far.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
But Pete the palang is also part of our lives.
He's my brother's boss. Now in question, how good?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Wow, I absolutely love that. But can we talk about
how loud the music was? Like in the day, was
like scream, you're you gott to yell over the music?
Speaker 5 (08:16):
I feel like that was my faults as we say,
I feel like I didn't.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Have the fainted down. Sorry, sorry, And you.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Know, you know Pete, Pete the Paralangy was obviously a
big part of your radio career.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
You work with him for how.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Many years I don't know, for fat but he was
a little kid.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
He was like twenty one or something when he started,
and you're calling him Pete palingg.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
I don't know you could do that now, but we did.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
But that's what I'm saying, Like, you know, you think
about twenty years ago, rules, right, there were no rules, rules, There.
Speaker 9 (08:44):
Was no rules.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
So you know, Pete's not so little anymore. And we're
going to have him join us.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Just after the song show Mary Best deals the plag.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
And we are celebrating twe years of Stacy Morrison here
at this company, twenty years since you know the beginning
of Flavor, which you were here for Stace and which
went you know, back in time down memory Lane played
you and Peter Parlangy one of your old voice breaks
(09:20):
and joining us.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Oh it's the man himself paid more in.
Speaker 14 (09:25):
The house, Pet Palangy, you reckon their name? Is still
be a good than twenty twenty four, Pet Palangy.
Speaker 8 (09:36):
I think it would. I think it would, except a
lot of people always thought that I was that I
actually wasn't, Parlogy. A lot of people always thought.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
It was a doke?
Speaker 14 (09:42):
Could you confirm you our palugy?
Speaker 8 (09:47):
I love it so love today ten years, ten years.
They gave me a freaking pen.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I know, twenty years to get a party. You're just
hanging that little bit long.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
But I know you're busy out there being a full
time husse and ceo, haven't you, Pat the Balagy?
Speaker 8 (10:02):
Oh you know it's hard work being a car groomer.
The car groomer and Nonnie Hung is always the lovely title. Yeah,
it's not about me, It's not about me. It's all
about you today. And I think that's a beautiful thing,
because twenty years and radio is prettydamn apressive, especially in
the market like A matter of Bloody hosted all the
stations have been for Ye, yes, there is that.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yes, what's an awesome I know I'm really lucky.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
But also the thing is like, if we look behind
the scenes, Pete, you're actually I'm going to see you
soon in BALI aren't I coming.
Speaker 8 (10:35):
I don't think. I don't think you're going to be
coming to your brother's weding. I was, I was, actually
I was there, But you are coming there?
Speaker 15 (10:43):
So cool?
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Well, you see, I just used up. You know, after
twenty years you get some long term leave, so I'm
using that up to go.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah, I want to know for myself, and so does Charlie. Actually,
you know what is one of your funniest memories where
with Stace.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
The one that I keep taking off with which which
she crashed the quad bike at the Warriors.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
My big bi when it was Mount Smart and they
actually let you drive a quad bike on the on
the field.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Well, I didn't crash it.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
I just skittered it into the side of the stadiums.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
But I didn't kill the security gain.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
In front of a packed stadium. Even Oh, brother.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Pete, the Parlan you thank you so much for taking
your time this morning, you know, to take us down
memory lane and I'm sure you and Stace will be
cutted and up on the d floor and balley in
a few weeks time.
Speaker 8 (11:42):
Oh yeah, those moves still goes down pretty well.
Speaker 9 (11:46):
Once.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
If you need to see pick the parlor for yourself,
go to hundred Steel cousin on Yeah we love you,
Yes babe, yes babe?
Speaker 6 (11:59):
Can you and joining us in studio.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Oh you know you may know him from his wedding
bro Town.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
So so many amazing.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
But most importantly over almost or over ten.
Speaker 6 (12:13):
Years at Flavor and working with ol Stacey Morrison.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Stave, otherwise known as doctor Van.
Speaker 16 (12:22):
I heard a little snippet where you you said it
was David Rodney.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
But you see, that's how we got doctor David Rodney
var I like the yeah, so that's how we got
there because it's actually not a real doctor.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Although you will be seeing you're fancy these days.
Speaker 13 (12:46):
Oh yeah, but fancy, I'm more an academic.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
Oh right, love it.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Hey, I have to tell you the country still have.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Just last night my daughter she gets ready to go
to the national Kappahuker competitions. She said, people showed her
at school and go, oh this is bit from a
cartoon and it goes oh.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
I didn't get in because I'm not a Morrison. It
was you.
Speaker 13 (13:09):
Yeah, I wrote that lines. It was more for your husband. Thanks,
you have a good laugh, and I was going, oh, you'll.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Like that, you'll like that well, Tim Reader, and that's
what I said, Yes, well much about Tim Reader.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
He won, he won the best.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
In the country and so did fire tiny and so
so yeah, no pressure kid.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
So David, I want to know, you know, if you,
if you were to go back down memory lane and
think about your time working with Stace, what is probably
the best memory or the funniest memory that you can
think of, even as a teen.
Speaker 16 (13:43):
Oh, the best memory of Stace is something that she's
the perfect person to wake up with, and it's because
you wake up with someone that cares, and all throughout
the twenty years he's always had care, love and her
heart and her voice and always made you feel special,
(14:05):
just just you, you in your car, you and the
Dunny make yeah, yeah, and being I think that's the
nicest memory. But the funniest one is probably when I've
overdone it the night before and talk to us man
(14:26):
and I think I turned up just as the show
was finishing, yes, yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
And then as the point, well.
Speaker 16 (14:34):
I didn't know, because the concept of time is hazy
with specific people.
Speaker 13 (14:39):
As long as you tune up, that's good enough.
Speaker 16 (14:41):
And but the eyes I'll never forget the eyes you
gave me where you know, the eyes that your.
Speaker 13 (14:46):
Mum gives you.
Speaker 16 (14:51):
And then I got those eyes in the studio. As
soon as we left the studio, all I hears this
laughter from her going idiots.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
And that was it.
Speaker 13 (15:04):
That was it dealt with. It was just that was
that was funny.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
I want to tell you one of the funny memories
about doctor Varnier so one time and also do it
the modern the multiple tit. I think it was how
we how we junior. They were all singing and they
were like, oh, we had such a good time, and
then Brotown came and then doctor finally comes on and goes, oh,
I love your stuff.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Can you sign this for me? Sign me an autograph?
Speaker 5 (15:27):
And then he ends up going to you know, to
check out and they go, oh, yeah, you've got all
this extra stuff from a dave far there. You had
got him to sign your room service order. That's how
he ended up going, yep, I will just pay for
all your stuff.
Speaker 16 (15:44):
Yes, yeah, bro, No, no, I got done, I got
I got shamed of them.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
How much was it was?
Speaker 13 (15:53):
It was enough to make my BNK card go decline.
Speaker 16 (15:57):
And then I went, I'll just move some money if
you and the lady count just stood there going yeah
you can do it here.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
Trust you. Out the building and down the road.
Speaker 13 (16:09):
You're texting my wife at the time and going, please put.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
The money, give me.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
No, we just really appreciate you coming in and celebrating Stace.
Speaker 13 (16:21):
You know what's what's not to celebrate about it?
Speaker 16 (16:23):
Twenty years and you know what a what a monster effort?
Speaker 13 (16:27):
Keep going Okay, I'll try, yeah, because because we all
love you, love you yea, the world loves you, Stace.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
I genuinely love you, and I love your fan and
I love seeing you shine and every success that you
have has my excitement along with it.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Thank you, brother.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
Dave, Thank you so much for coming in the studio.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
It's the full fair, breakfast, full fat.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
For what.
Speaker 9 (16:57):
Stace.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
Zorah and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
There is someone h a Wahanair that you worked with
many many many years ago, and she has a special
message for you. She actually only just left working on
here and was also recognized at the New Zealand Radio
and Podcast Awards a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 6 (17:17):
She is absolutely beautiful. You may know her. Her name
is Kaylee Todace.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
It's me Kaylee. From my time to having the privilege.
Speaker 11 (17:26):
Of learning radio from you when I first started at Flavor.
Oh my gosh, you are the epitome of Amanda Wahing
and someone I've always admired. Gunga pla, gunga plata for you,
championed working Tante Mary, and have the best parties, Yes,
your Hen's parties, the dresser parties, absolutely the best. You've
(17:49):
been there for me and my fam know from day
dot one and even seeing me kut a care and
checking out on me when I was cooped up in hospital.
I can't express how much I'm so grateful for you.
Today we celebrate you and all your success and all
the amazing things that you and body.
Speaker 17 (18:05):
I love you, my friend.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
You deserve all the flowers.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Congratulations on twenty years.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
Wow, that's goosebumps materials.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Misscaleen.
Speaker 6 (18:15):
And she's beautiful, isn't she even her words?
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Yeah? No, Kate, you got me girl.
Speaker 6 (18:21):
We got tears, so we got tears.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
And there's been some beautiful messages on a two double low.
Speaker 6 (18:28):
I love the honesty on this one. I love flavor,
but I must admit the full fair breakfast all my
years was the best time for Reid. Of course, it's down,
hands down.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Congratulations Stace on twenty years.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
Another one saying.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Congratulations Stacy, please keep going. We need you and we
love you. You know that other stations don't play our
old Theodor music like you like. And yeah, just congratulating
you on twenty years. But the celebrations they're not over
for years. Who else to get other than your children? Oh,
(19:07):
because you know it is I said it at the
start of eight and I'll say it again. It is
impressive to be honest and inspirational to see you not
only be on air for thirty years, but to have
three children as well, you know, get married life, life happened,
and it's it's really really inspiring. And you know the
(19:29):
fact that twenty years ago none of your children were
actually here.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah, well two thousand and four was the year that
Scotty and I got together.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
So you know, I've got to go in an order order
of birth.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
So we're going to start off with your son.
Speaker 10 (19:45):
Hawaiki noike ins and me hitting on mahar quiet macause,
lovely mama.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
And then we've got Kaka your middle child.
Speaker 18 (19:58):
Karamama that way today ended me love mama.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
It's so cute. You just see they're going, what is
the name?
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Probably looking at the.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Fact like.
Speaker 12 (20:21):
Me.
Speaker 6 (20:22):
And then your youngest.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
But it's not just your youngest Mayana, it's also t
K has joined it.
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Spread ka mama Komana Callao.
Speaker 13 (20:38):
Inded me.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Yeah, that's the big one, that one right there.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
So we just want to say, you know, congratulations into
many more years. And I think you probably do not
realize the amount of people you have inspired and and
also touched over the years. Even when we go out
into the community, you know, hearing stories from people that
have listened to you, watched you, heard you coming up
(21:05):
to you and even talking about you putting.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
A fist in your mouth at a school.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
There's a lot of memories crashing a quad bite, but here's.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
Too many more memories.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
And we thank you for an incredible almost thirty years
on here and just want to say I love you
and personally just how how well you've been there for me,
like as a human outside of work.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
It's yeah, it's amazing, and yeah I love you and
thank im so clue.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
But also the thing is it is about the listeners.
It is thank you every time you welcome us into
the place where you are. We don't do this for
anyone except for you, So thank you, Thank you for
bringing us into your lives.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
Man, Stace.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
You know that text really got me when they said
we need you. I think we all do need you.
Like it's not the same. I don't think I could
ever do this job without you, Stacey. And honestly, for
me sitting here and listening to all the memories and
things like that, I grew up listening to you as
a kid, you know.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
I mean, Zori can't relate to this, but I can.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
My sister Julie and my brother Rob and we all
used to listen to you, watch you on TV. Now
I can sit across from you at work with you
every day and you know, everything that you do for me,
especially on the station off air, on air, and you know,
growling me and all this stuff. This is you haven't
(22:26):
grow body language, you know. I know, Okay, after if
we finish this break, she's going to say something. She's
going to say something, but it's you know, you are
building me in like and making me feel comfortable in
this role. And I appreciate you heaps of love and respect.
And keep on keeping on, keep on going.
Speaker 9 (22:45):
Man.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
Let's get on to your hundred.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
And there's some beautiful flowers for you, delivered by producer
Anna who we love the actual glow our little family. Yeah,
and thank you so much, Jace. We love you for fair,
for fair, breakfast for life. It was the year two
thousand and four that not only you started at Flavor,
(23:11):
Flavor started, but it was a big year for you
because you met Hu Wow.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
I well I had I had seen him around, I
knew him. But yeah, my husband Scotty and I got
together in two thousand and four, and I.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Mean, who could we be if we did not get
the man himself, the man who you met twenty years ago,
now your husband, Scotty Morrison.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
Hello, welcome to the show.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
I'm just in the middle of this guy.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
Oh Wowart across the table.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Oh yeah. I was just saying.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
The songs from this year two thousand and four, they
were great, like say I will say Hope it's okay
to say Mario, let me love you as one of
the songs, and that was that was our song, was it?
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yes, two thousand and four some.
Speaker 17 (24:08):
Good songs though this morning from you guys. You didn't
realize two thousand and four was a port of a banger.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Erasmus, Twenty years is a long time to be one company,
but you know, to be almost thirty years on on
air as a broadcaster as impressive and even more impressive
as a as a female on air, I would say,
as well, and you know you've you've pretty well you've
been there through the last twenty years. That what we're
(24:33):
celebrating right now, you.
Speaker 17 (24:35):
Know, yeah, because we were actually working together at my
FM two way back in the day when they Yama
and Uyama was kind of like the model language part
in his states was the star back then. Years I
was just beavering away in the background, and nothing's changed
(24:57):
in years.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
How did the actually blossom? Because I know I've heard
Stace talk about.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
I heard something about a run club that's right deep,
and you all of.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
A sudden took up running because Stace was already doing
the run.
Speaker 9 (25:17):
Too much.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
No listen, bro, the.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Run club that Scotty was talking about was that Stacey
was running through his mind.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
What can you say about that time?
Speaker 2 (25:33):
You know, after meeting Stace and then you know, twenty
years ago, finally getting together and like you said, she
was the stars, she was a broadcast.
Speaker 12 (25:39):
Start.
Speaker 9 (25:40):
Well, we hit, we hit.
Speaker 17 (25:41):
A couple of friends who met made us, you know,
who sort of pushed us towards each other. I mean
I was always admiring from it. Justance people you know,
not available, shall we say?
Speaker 9 (25:54):
And you respect it?
Speaker 17 (25:56):
And then people become available in the Luckily we had
friends who.
Speaker 9 (26:04):
Who put our cvs together and then thought there.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Was befa think want to remember you, Caro Lee.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Thank you all very much, very much.
Speaker 17 (26:15):
It's been awesome to hear all of the wonderful accolades
this morning, and you know from Dave and Peter Paralang
and all the other people.
Speaker 6 (26:21):
Was Kayley, Yeah, well.
Speaker 17 (26:24):
And you know, and and I'm here to reveal the
chink and staces armor. You said, oh yes, yes, because
everyone saves all these wonderful perfect things. And I'm going
I know what the chink and the armor is, so
I'm going to reveal that on Flavor today.
Speaker 9 (26:38):
Talk to me.
Speaker 17 (26:39):
The chink in the armor is her heart is too big.
Her heart is too big. So much time giving everybody
all the energy and everything else. And it's like, but
that's what makes it who she is. She's got the
biggest heart of anyone I know and just gives gives
gifts all the time.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Yeah, there's no way you're going to stop that.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
Absolutely, it's too late.
Speaker 17 (27:03):
Now, I say, baby saying no, baby, don't help them, Baby,
don't do it.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Yeah, well, someone made my heart a bit bigger, didn't they.
Two thousand and four.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
What a year and we had to do it.
Speaker 9 (27:18):
Look at and all these photos from twenty years and
she doesn't.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
I just said that. I said that, you don't age one.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
But it's the R and B and hip hop that
keeps us young. Ever, your one.
Speaker 9 (27:31):
Stays a Zura and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
It is a game on this week and actually right
before the Super Rugby Finals.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
That's right, our one New Zealand Warriors take on the
Gold Coast Titans.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
It's going to be a game. And this is why
I love the inner round.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
We know that the Gold Coast Titans at the bottom
of the table, but anything could happen, right.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
It's gonna be a good So that's the thing.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Last time Titans actually beat the Warriors up, I'm unexpected money.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
And joining us from the one New Zealand Warriors.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
We're very lucky to have here this morning, Mars Solo,
Montoya Mordner.
Speaker 19 (28:05):
How are you well?
Speaker 3 (28:06):
We're good, Thank you, brother busy man. Thank you for
fitting us in there.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
And we see that you're actually edging towards an awesome
milestone of fifty tries in the NRL, right am, I?
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (28:18):
Too many tries? Were you've forgotten?
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Yeah, you're up to forty six, so.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
You're four away, four away?
Speaker 19 (28:26):
Ohrightfully, Yeah, that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Yeah, glare we could break it too, thank you, and
that might be this week in Brak four tries.
Speaker 19 (28:37):
That'll be nice to be call up some tips.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
So playing on the Gold Coast, I mean last time
the Titans were here, that was a bit of a shock,
like well, I don't know what happened then they just
grew extra legs. But what do you reckon on the
Gold Coast? How is it playing over there?
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 19 (28:53):
For sure, I thought last time, I thought we started
the game as well, but obviously just fell off the
the back end. And it just goes to show, you know,
you can't really sleep on anyone in the NL this year.
So the competition's right up there. But look, playing over there,
it's always nice setting over there and seeing our fans
over there as well, because you know, we've had a big,
big following over there in Golco. So yeah, so it's
(29:15):
nice to head over and hopefully get a win.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Yeah, proper home away from home. And you know what
is the focus for this week's game?
Speaker 19 (29:25):
Yeah, for sure, I think for us it's about, you know,
where we started last week, to keep that kind of
same flow that we had and just play that for
eighty minutes. You know, we can't. We kind of wat
to go out there and have lapses up with you
last week, and I think you know, we've trained really well,
We've traveling a roll the last kind of six weeks.
So look, we're looking forward to heating over. But the
(29:46):
big things for us is getting a job done. So yeah,
that's that's that's our main goal for us. You know,
obviously Roger's massive for us, so you're looking forward to
seeing him step some people and bemboos with them with
his footwork. So now I'm keen that that's good.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
I was.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
Thanks so much for taking the time to talk to
us this morning.
Speaker 19 (30:06):
I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Have a great day day.
Speaker 5 (30:10):
Yes up, the was up the baby.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Let's be honest, we all have a bakery that holds
a special place in our hearts.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
You were talking about cleaning bakery yesterday.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Charlie, and you know apart you go there specifically to
have cheese sex.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
And then I started thinking, oh, man, the.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
One hand to do her on the way out to
the lakes. Oh got to do my research. But the
cheese sects there are like I planned my day around
how to get there.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
I still don't know really what a cheese stick is.
I just keep thinking of a bread stick.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
It's sort of a bread but like effect, Yeah, it's
just it's game change with a road.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
Oh didn't you Okay, you can't talk on this, Okay,
but let me tell you this. There are two bakeries,
not one.
Speaker 9 (31:02):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
So, because you know bakeries, they specialize in certain things.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
You know what I'm saying. I know what you mean.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
So there's a bakery that specializes in cheese sticks, and
there's a bakery that specializes in cream doughnuts. And then
there's the bakery that specializes in steak and cheesems and
cheese pies and so forth.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
You know what, even butter chicken pie bakery.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Yeah, because when it's good, it's good.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
When it's not, God Lebon Bakery, that's the one I'm
bonding about. Ye, no Labon, it's French, you know, Yes,
So that's the thing. If you can only go to
one bakery for the rest of your life, which bakery
is that people are already taxing in Point England Bakery,
Oh east Side, Yeah, Golden Steak Bakery and Panmua.
Speaker 9 (31:47):
I know the one.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
Yeah, So that's that choosing that this is my one
bakery for the rest of my life.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
I'm pretty much married to it.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
I'll just say my one paki is the flour Mill
that's my hometown. But the one in the city is
the Baker's Cottage in Kingsland.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
If you know, you know, if you know, you.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
Know, twenty and keeping your guys bakeries bro you know,
share it with everybody.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Yeah, this is the one.
Speaker 5 (32:15):
But you can only get one bakery for the rest
of your life. What bakery is that good?
Speaker 2 (32:19):
I think if you're asking a question like that, stage
like the bakery that you choose has to.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
Have range, do you know what I mean? Because it's
the rest of your life. It can't just be good
at the one thing.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
And this is true. Obviously it's going to become law.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Text. We're talking about that one bakery because if you
could only go to one bakery for the rest of
your life, which one would it be.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
It's a big call, you know, you've got to commit
to one and one only. So where is it? Lots
of texts coming in and calls.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
So more than a Jamie, what's that one spot for you?
Speaker 8 (32:57):
Good morning Chane?
Speaker 19 (32:58):
On one spot is blue Rose and Sandriums.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
Oh yeah, I was there about a month ago. Oh,
I'm a big pie girl.
Speaker 19 (33:09):
So every time we come to Auckland, we literally it's embarrassing.
We plan stay like we were going to stay in
Auckland around that cafe.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
No, there is clever. There is an Auckland thing.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
But also there's like everything on the menu, hits they
want to breed.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Oh my life, pies, boiler pies, pies.
Speaker 6 (33:30):
I can hear, I can hear the love and your
voice when you're talking about it.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Where are you traveling from when you come up? And
where do you live?
Speaker 8 (33:44):
Wellington?
Speaker 4 (33:48):
That's come upment rights, zero.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Chill and the people there.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
You got to taste though, Jamie, because everyone everyone knows
about it here in Auckland. So the fact that it's
made it's made waves all the way down to Wellington.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
It just goes to show.
Speaker 5 (34:07):
I mean, Wellington has good cafes, but none they have
no Blue Rose cafes.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
So yeah, good, thank you, Jamie.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Yeah, thanks for sharing, Jamie. What about you, Louis, what
are you saying?
Speaker 8 (34:18):
I tell you what.
Speaker 15 (34:18):
I live in g I. But there's there's one out
by the airport. It's called the Express Cafe on Richard
Pierce Drive and there's pies of the bomb. Anyone goes
there given a shot. And I'm trying to get that
guy to go on the Pie Awards for this year.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
So it's the Express Bakery. Is that the name of it?
Express Cafe, Express Cafe. Let me just say it. Look
at it. Let me get a visual on this.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
You know, Louis, in your opinion, what makes these pies
the most elite?
Speaker 19 (34:48):
Oh well, this go.
Speaker 15 (34:49):
There's a lot on this pie. It's not like those
pies get from the count The zip pies are good,
but half the time they've only got like three peoples.
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, So you go there and then
you'll find out.
Speaker 19 (35:02):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 6 (35:03):
Oh Man, talk that pie to me. Man, that's what
I'm talking about.
Speaker 10 (35:06):
Yeah, I hope I get there.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Fifty k too.
Speaker 15 (35:08):
I came on yesterday. I remember.
Speaker 5 (35:10):
Yeah, okay, seeing as you're sharing the gold now, maybe
you'll get the gold next week.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (35:17):
Yeah, give us pie a shot, guys.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
I just love how everyone's like a pie connoisseur, all
of us.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
We also have Baker's Cottage, Another Vote in Kingsland, Danny's Bakery,
Pocket car Heer, Hong Kong Bakery, Man yet A Bridge Bakery,
manted in Village clean and Bakery for Sure. Maine and
the team have been there over twenty years, been buying
from them, keep up the good work. And also Cafe
thirty five, home of the.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
Pie Will Pie.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
And in the house, Charlie's trying to decide whether he's
insulted by a comment one of his son's friends made.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
All right, So my son was talking to his friend
via snapchat and my son comes over to me and
goes our dad Ethel says, Hi, I'm like, oh sup.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
E goes back into his room.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
I'm in the bathroom and I can hear ethel talk
to my son and asking him this question, is like, oh, gee,
can you just actually dad what one of his songs?
Speaker 6 (36:11):
I forgot what it was. It's one of his old
school songs.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
And I was like, bro, I heard that, Yeah, but
it could have been a song yeah, like from two
thousand and two thousand and seven.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
I'm that's sort of old that is old school.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
That is old school especially. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
But then again I was like, nah, bro, these kids
weren't even born at that time, so I'm thinking it's made.
Speaker 6 (36:31):
Old school for them. But what was the song he
was looking for?
Speaker 4 (36:34):
The song that he was looking for was Smile, And
we released the song in twenty seventeen, this one.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Right here with you make Mile Smile. I don't know,
so twenty seventeen is twenty seven school is old school
to these young kids.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
It is when you were e living seven years ago
was old school.
Speaker 6 (36:55):
Remember that.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
I was at Eca at the time.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
I was like, oh man, we need to release some
new music, man, because these kids are calling us old
timers now.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Yeah. Yeah, old school.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
I think it means like, you know, old school, classic
like and the fact that he's.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Like, oh, what's that song that your dad, Dad? Does
one of his old school songs.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
You can't get past it, can you? We play old
school music. It's a blessing that we called that advantage.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
Vintage.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
The latest celebrity goes from around.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
The world, waver breakfast.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Oh m god, man, Well, it seems everyone's getting arrested.
First Dress in Timberlake and now Travis Scott so his
mugshot he's not looking as Dande's justin Timberlake was. He
was arrested in Florida for disorderly intoxication and then soon
after his arrest, apparently trespassing as well. He spoke out
(37:53):
on Twitter on x with a simple loll loll and
that's all he posted. And people are saying, man, he
must have sad breaded hard for June tenth, which was,
you know, a public.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
Holiday over there.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
On the other hand, we had people like Kendrick Lamar,
who hosted in his hometown Los Angeles, a concert called
Pop Out dr J, Pop Out, Doctor J, Schoolboy Q
Creator Mustard. Yeah, they all showed out for that incredible
celebration and concert for Juneteenth, but.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Not everyone got arrested.
Speaker 5 (38:25):
Yeah, and now I'm going to tell you about the
passing of Donald Sutherland, who was eighty eight years old.
Lots of roles you might know him from, one being
Hawkeye and Mash, but also President Snow in the Hunger Games.
Speaker 12 (38:38):
I know you will stand with me, with us, with
all of us together as one, and am today, a
M tomorrow and M for whatever.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Amazing actor.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
So his son Keifazerland, also very famous, posted on social
media with the black and white photo of themh they're little,
and he said, I personally think one of the most
important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by
a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he
did and did what he loved and one can never
ask for more than that.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
A life well lived.
Speaker 9 (39:13):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
That is your O. M. Goss And what an impact
he had to that movie. And you know they've just
been putting out all those other movies for the prequel.
Speaker 6 (39:22):
So I'm like, well, what's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
With Oh that happening? No on Hunger Games. That keeps
on happening.
Speaker 5 (39:28):
The people have already passed away like frigure me out.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
There's lot.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
It is the Pacific Super Ragby Finals this weekend between
chief and.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
The Chiefs. Have it won since two thousand and around there.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Yeah time and also very very very first time that
the Blues and the Chiefs have been.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
Up against each other in the finals. Wow, never before.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Every one does that today is a safe option I find.

it's yeah, very very it's impressive.
Speaker 6 (40:48):

can't wait to keep on celebrating.
Speaker 3 (40:52):

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Most importantly that we're still here, because that's the thing,
the dream and the belief and the copa bird Flavor
