Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Flavor Podcast Network, the Flavor Breakfast Podcast with
stace A, Zorah and Charlie.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
We are being joined by very special guests in studio.
We have Dylan and Billy who are on Team New
Zealand representing our country.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
A deal on New Zealand in the Olympics. Baby to it,
welcome along. It's pretty exciting a month that.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Yeah, that's definitely coming up pretty quick.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah, when you guys fly Dylan, because I mean you
are in trampoline. You've actually won us our only gymnastic
medal ever when it comes to the Olympics, which is
so epic for trampolining.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
So when do you fly out? I'm away on Friday,
And how has your preparation been. It's going really well, Honestly,
I can't fault it.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
I've been training really hard, training really well, niggle pretty
much niggle free as much as I can be anyway.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
And yeah, we've got one comp to go before Paris.
Little you've got a competition before.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
Yeah, just going for a bit, you know, I guess,
get the rust off and get that comp feel and
just hit some routines and then had a good training
camp in the UK and into Paris.

Speaker 6 (01:08):
What sort of training do you do trampoline? Yeah, but
you know, I mean do you like obviously the strength
involved in this. Do you could do a bit of
week something so that.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
Yeah, Yeah, I do do a fair bit of gym
stuff pretty specific like primetric gy fast twitch core stuff.
And then you've obviously got to have just got to
be strong around those major joints to when you're jumping
on a trampoline to not I guess collapse and have
major injuries.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
So it's a big part of my training.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
And then you obviously there's a hot like most of
my training has been on the trampoline. That trampoline fitness,
it's pretty hard to get anywhere ouse.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
You get a good swept, you know when I take
you out to the tramp.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, I mean it's really similar to what Dylan does.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
You know, I can't do that.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
But yeah, now, Bellisdiman, you are going to serve, but
tell us about the difference. So you know, I mean,
it's the Paris Olympics, but where do you actually compete.

Speaker 7 (01:58):
Yes, so obviously it's a Paris Olympics, but the surfing
is actually in Tahiti.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Oh that the French connection.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
French Polynesia. Yes, the wave itself is a very big
and scary in tense. I think it's the most dangerous
wave on the planet. So yeah, yeah, it's exciting. It's
a new challenge of you know, I'm not used to,
but I'm excited about and I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Have you surfed in Tahiti before?

Speaker 7 (02:20):
Yeah, I actually just got back last weekend. I did
a bit of a training trip, and I've been to
or three times before that, And it's a type of
wave you really want to spend time in. The surroundings
are so beautiful, but it's very powerful place, and you know,
the ways are always changing and the conditions can change,
you know, like a flick of a switch.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
So you've got to be as prepared prepared as you can.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
But you're a little bit closer than other competitors. That
would be an advantage, wouldn't it. You could just go
over to Tahiti like you did.

Speaker 7 (02:45):
Yeah. Yeah, it's only like a four and a half
hour flight, and yeah, the time time difference is only
two hours, so yeah, you can pop over for some
training days. If you see a swale, you can pop
over and oh wow.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Yeah, like how maybe Tahiti yeah, and then you just
pop over to Paris as well, I believe.

Speaker 7 (03:01):
Yes, So after our competition we actually get to experience
the full Olympic Games and we get to fly to
Paris and be a part of the team and the
closing ceremony and yeah, be there for support for the team.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
B Yeah is going to be like that. He would
have already done his competitions, so yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
He arrives after my comp as well, so we'll meet up.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Nice gosh, you know, and you know you're both been
to the Olympics before. I want to know what is
what is the vibe like there being an athlete, Like
is everyone really friendly with each other or is it
sort of like you know, kid phones on and you're
doing your own thing.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
For the New Zealand team, he runs super friendly, super supportive.
We all like really get along. It's a great chance
to get together as you know, from different sports as
a team.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah, and from other countries, I guess.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Yeah, a little bit more like in your own and
your own zone depending on the sport, I guess. But
for me and I've got eaves and mates that do
trampolining that are going as well, So yeah, I think
the vibes are generally pretty good.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
How big is our team?

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Like?

Speaker 3 (03:59):
How many pamperliners are there?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Just me and one other, one male, one female? Yeah,
same as surfing from who's our female? Soifer Sefie Viddy
from Gisbon.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Oh yeah yeah nice.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
So she trampolining actually just tampolaining family from Gisbon.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
So no.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Well actually, you know, like the athleticism and it can
look like gymnastics ons on the waves, can't it. Yeah?

Speaker 7 (04:25):
Yeah, sometimes you're doing some somersaults underwater, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, unled Yeah, look you guys, we're so proud of
both of you. It's it's it's actually incredible and you're
doing what had to be honest, not a lot of
people can. And we just want to say, go hard
and come home, come home with a smile and your
dial and hopefully some meddles. Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
When you when you're up on those parties, we go that's.

Speaker 7 (04:48):
My broom on the stage.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Please please don't believe.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
