Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Flavor Podcast Network, the Flavor Breakfast Podcast with
Stace Azorah and Charlie.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Coming up in the podcast. How far have you traveled
to support your team? Oh?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
In common saying said wrong? Ah, this is just making
me angry now.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
But you made us happy though. Charlie with your beautiful
cover of Cecilia. You'll hear it here on the podcast.
Morning and welcome to.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Wednesday hump Day, Stace.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yes, well, Charlie, can you get a little bit of
luck this morning? Geez? How could it be to have
a guitar?

Speaker 3 (00:34):
It's like very hard trying to find a guitar at
this time of the morning, especially in the studio. I've
been to several places around here we have guitars. But
guitars and their strings.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
What the heck, man, isn't it ironic? It's like a
thousand spoons and I, why don't you have a guitar?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I do have a guitar, but I'm my nephews. For
some reason, they have it. So when I rained them
last night, they said they'll drop it off after a funeral,
and it never came around.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Right, So we have a guitar situation. We need a
guitar a're going to do a cover of Cecilia. It
all makes sense, but you don't have it. What is
a singer without his guitar? So does anyone in the
Central City have a guitar?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Somebody? Anybody out there, Man, if you have a guitar,
and if it's in your car right now and you're
driving around CBD Central, please stop it and just drop
your guitar off. I'll bring it back with maybe five
dollars it takes to this tree.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
What a deal, everybody. We'll get through otherwise, or we're
going for the old backing.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Track by or just the spoons.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yep, the backing track one is a brings up an
embarrassing moment. My dad literally turns up to parties with
us backing tracks. We've been hearing the rumors actually for
quite a while, haven't we, Charlie, What rumors about the
Warriors opening Las Vegas next year?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yes, I have for a very long time, and I
did sort of say this, but I didn't want to
get people in trouble, get people in trouble. Now it's
confirmed that the Wahs are going to be in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yeah, Viva was Vegas's Vegas boor So the season opener
in twenty twenty five, you know that you had it
for the very first time. This year we went to
Las Vegas to open the NRL and Russell Crowe had
to tell us all about it.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I believe is football the Blaby letters. You know it
chargeably the fastest post aggressive ball and and football game
if that exists.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
That's right now. The Warriors, they actually have made an
official statement themselves, but people are announcing it and apparently
the dates are going to be confirmed later this week.
But the Warriors will be joined by the Penrith Panthers,
Cronulla Sharks and Canberra Raiders. It is actually week zero,
Round zero of the NRL because it's going to start
a week earlier. We know that much, and that gives

(03:06):
the players enough time to travel and recover before their
Round two match, which is a fortnight later. But that
is us Viva Las Vegas. Don't you worry. We're looking
at air flavoring going okay, where I took it's at
what are we going to do there? But I want
to know how far people have traveled to support a
supporting team. Charlie, come on, you you know that you're
a jet setter. You're a performer. So where have you

(03:29):
gone to support a team?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
To be honest, the furthest I've been to support a
team is fielding.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Okay, Fielding is you know, lasting.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
But it's not somewhere you know, around the world, but
here in New Zealand. And that's quite a you know,
that's some commitment.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
In New Zealand. I've been in the cargo to support
my son's rugby team.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
See that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
But but then again, that is because you're a crazy
parent who wants to know.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
It's not usually remember by the way, you know, I
just want you to support a friend.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Nice Okay, So where have you gone to suppor bought
a sporting team? I went to Singapore for the Silver Fans,
I must have ot. It was like I was hosting
the tourist so and the people were epic and I
made good friends. I happened to watch the All Blacks
in France, but that was we were there, Like it
wasn't the only reason. And we're basically so high up

(04:19):
and parked de France that you're like, I need some
altitude sickness pearls over here. It was so high Yeah,
like miles and miles away.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
That's pretty crazy, you know. You tell me where have
you been? Charlie jets hetter all this and then well
I've beat to Singapore, into France stays.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Now you've been to fielding. So where have you gone
to support your team? Text through to eight to two
double O give us call I went hand for flavor
because surely trying to get itself so lost Vegas. A
whole lot of men are going to be playing in
Las Vegas for the NRL opening around next year. The
Warriors haven't fitted official, but it's beaver was Vegas. Sure,

(04:58):
I've been Basically, we've been hearing it.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
We've been here in four ages and it's finally here.
And I know for a fact a lot of Kewis,
even Kewys living abroad, are going to be here. Yeah,
trust me.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Well it's like this is we have to be there.
Penrith Panther's Canala Sharks and Camber Raiders. We want to
know how far you've gone to support a sporting team.
Lots of cool stories on the ticks and eight to
double O and we have semi on the lane more
in a semi. So where did you go to support
a team.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
So actually last year I went to Brisbane to support
the boys in the semifinals in.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
The Broncos so there was a rematch on the weekend. Actually,
so what are you reaking about Las Vegas an?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I already started looking for tickets already.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
I don't know if I can last that long on
a fly. It's not too bad because you just go
to La and then you have a break and then
you go like an hour and a half or something.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, yeah, because the max being is too back to
home to someone and to Ozzy.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Wow, you know you did not too much song and
it would be worth it because did you have a
great time going to watch the wires in the semifinals? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Great time.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Always a vibe going up there. So people are making plans.
I believe you have a birthday shout out as well
to get well you're here?

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Oh yes, can I have a shout out to Auntie today?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Nice Auntie? Already? Okay, thank you. We have other people
who went to support as well. My mom and I
went to Malta in June last year to support our
niece Mokel at the World Powerlifting Competition. Pretty epic, that's awesome,
And what about Rainer. She went to Nelson because your
son was playing rugby league for waker toor Maudi another one. Oh,

(06:44):
and also went to Australia to watch him play with
his Eden Tigers and also Japan the Rugby World capposite.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Wow, I know the w w C.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Oh yeah, actually that is reminded me. That's why my
husband has gone on a once in a lifetime trip
to Las Vegas to watch the UFC. But that once
in a lifetime has happened four times. Yeah, and he
goes yeah, but every time is once in a lifetime,
see Paki. Yeah, Okay, So I'm just thinking more and

(07:19):
more flavor. We were at how good we need to
be there? Yesterday we discovered that both Charlie and Producer
Anna have been saying something different when they're talking about
when someone's listening in on a conversation because they're eves dropping.
You thought the term wasn't eves dropping. But what Charlie,
I thought it was dropping, right, and Producer Anna you

(07:42):
thought it was. I thought it was eas e's dropping.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
My old childhood is a lie man.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
He dropped an ease over there? What the heck was it? Yeah?
I guess you're just listening listening in with these like
easy listening. Oh yeah, okay, easy listening flavor. Well ends
up when we put a on flavored Instagram, people going,
oh okay, well today years old. When I found that out,
other people going how did you not know that it's
eves dropping? So Anna, basically, to protect yourself, you went

(08:12):
around the office going I'm sure I'm not the only
one who you didn't know this, right, Yes, but I didn't.
I didn't word it as gave them to options. I
let them think for themselves. So here it is. What
do you call it when you're listening on someone else's conversationsropping?
E's eves dropping? Oh damn, eves.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Dropping because it's easy to drop. Its dropping.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I know, eves dropping just makes more sense. Eves dropping, evesdropping,
eves dropping, eves eaves dropping drop.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I say eaves dropping, but I know it's about E
A V S.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
So listen to the voices that all of a sudden
age grip This is n C A issues, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
You didn't even ask any guys man, Yeah there is,
they would have said, is yeah, No, Charlie is definitely right,
Bro is tardy and.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Listening, but you know you're not right though, Charlie.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
What were the other sayings that you were getting wrong?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Nick? Nick and Nick? You know, like when you you're
close to a race, and I said, bro, we were
Nick and Nick Nick to Nick. Sorry, I said, bro,
we were Nick to Nick in this race. And another
one is like, you know when you sort of had
a bump along your journey. And then I said, yeah, bro,
there was a Spinner throne in the woodworks. You guys

(09:34):
are looking at me like, Bro, what school did you
go to?

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Spinner and the works or the woodworks?

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Why?

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Why?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Why the woodwork?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
I just wanted to make it sound a little bit
more fancier, you know.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Yeah, the middle and the wood works. You just bring
it all in there. But you're not alone. There are
a couple of others saying said wrong. If you want
to own up to some, feel free to do that
on a two double. But there's a few actually that
you might want to check yourself. Where is yourself? Charlie?
Just say whoever you want, even though it's.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
And it's always been Stace, I just say whatever comes
to mind when it comes to these sayings.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, you thought eavesdropping was ears dropping. I've got a
couple of others coming in. I will just throw my
brother in law and goot and beal and there as well.
I just want to mention here his tongue one as well.
He thought when someone was very you know, like medically overweight,
that the word was obeste Oh beast, Yeah, because they're

(10:31):
a beast. It's obese. Oh yeah. Okay, So others sayings,
you know that people get wrong. You know, it ends
up you guys went alone and thinking that it was
wasn't eavesdropping but ears dropping and eavesdropping. What about if
I say that, you know, as people say, my daughter
looks a lot like me, she's the what image of me?

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Splitting image?

Speaker 2 (10:52):
What do you reckon? Isn't it spitting? Yes, it's spitting images.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
It's not splitting I'd be serious, actually.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Spitting image, But spit in your face like that.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
It's not about spitting in your face.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
You know, when you split something in half, you know
that your half, this is my half split fifty to fifty. Okay,
So for me, listen, let me justify myself.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Okay, But it isn't gonna make It's not gonna make you.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Right, I'm going off to Oxford here. Man, are you sure?
I'm not too sure. Man, Oxford must have been expired
back at Mayfield Primary School.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Man, what about grammarist? It says, for a traditional and
old timey approach, go with spit and image. But to
sound more professional, go with spitting image. Just don't say splitting. Well,
not gonna lie.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
I was a fifty to fifty and I was just man,
you ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Rig Now do you say, for instance, that how you
nip it in the what when you're trying to stop it?
You nip it in the bud?

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Please say bug, bug.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
In the butt? No, it's not the butt, Okay, So
nip it in the bud? And what's the problem?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
What's the problem with these words?

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yes, if you want to say that you don't care
about something, what do you say? I could care less?
Or I couldn't care less, I couldn't kill less. Nice,
wonder well done?

Speaker 3 (12:30):
You come on an say something.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
No, she's all nervous, now, isn't she.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
I couldn't care less my friend, I didn't know that
because he's a song.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Oh so we need to put everything in a song
and then you'll be sweet as what about the one
when you're like, oh, I can't wait, I'm really really
wondering what's going to happen here? I am on what
sort of hooks? Tenter hooks, Yes, you got that one,
just because you're repracticing hook not tinder, Okay, tinder? What

(13:03):
about this one? Apparently a lot of people thought that
the saying was an escapegoat escapegoat someone's your scapegoat, like
there isn't get out of something?

Speaker 3 (13:13):
People that mean, you know, okay, let me explain to
you an escape coat escapegoat?

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Which money are you going?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
There's enough? Okay, I was about to explain this to you, guys,
they pop me on. Okay, this is a silly game.
Don't ever bring this up again, and don't ever correct
me if I ever say these words like this against
let me be.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
He's so chill until you bring up the grammar, not
with the words, stays a Zorah and Charlie, Charlie, we
did say, yep, we got in an order for a
cover of Cecilia you and since you have a side
of fries with that while she waits with baited breath,
by the way, spelled correctly to hear Charlie's cover. So

(13:53):
are you ready?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
I'm almost there. I'm almost there. You know this is
not a cover. That's you know that I like to sing.
But because you guys are asking, I'm mainly doing this
for you guys, Flavor fan.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Okay, so one more song. I'll give you one more song.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Need one more song?

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Okay, but just leting you know. I mean a few
people have done covers of the song. Forty five So
the original Simon and Garfunk came out ninety seventeen. Okay.
A really big one was from Times two and nineteen

(14:32):
eighty eight.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yeah, there's the one. Actually hear my aunties in there
singing the garage, Yeah she did. It is a good song,
go away. It wasn't until I started doing my homework
on the song, like, bro, I'm missing out on the goods. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
No, this has been in big ones and what about
Also we have Kneeling Bigford that was in nineteen seventy
as well. That's weird, the same year I beg. So
let's bring it recent Times the Vamps twenty fourteen, Yeah,

(15:09):
breaking having.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
A laugh a.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Wreck here, yeah, twenty twenty fifteen, Morgan James and I
think they will see you're breaking my heart. I like
this Morgan shaking my confidence today, maybe Teddy Swims will
do it. But the one that everyone really wants to
hear is Charlie putmitting.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
So I'll be like the forty six cover of Yes.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
But it is as requested by everyone listening to Flavors.
So you know, one more song that's coming up, Cecilia
by Simon and Guf uncle and your uncle Charlie whose uncle.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
You know?

Speaker 2 (15:53):
And you ask and we make Charlie deliver said yesterday,
Oh yeah, I love it on Cecilia. Actually reggae ish
Coavera would be great for Charlie to do. We give
them one day overnight homework and we're actually stressing him
out with us, why don't we?

Speaker 3 (16:09):
And not to mention, you know, we there was a
spanner in the works, you know, with no guitar, so
we still let you go through this man.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Nice so coming to you live and loud, straight out
of the ins and meat headquarters flavor h Q. It
is Charlie permitted from three houses down doing Cecilia.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah, Cecilia, baby, Like, who the hell is ce Cilia
Whoshi c your bady my heart, You're shaky my come steadily.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Or the sly up. I'm down on my knees.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
I'm begging you please to come home.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Come on ho.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Cecilia, you're breaking my heart. You're shaking my confid and steadily.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
ORTI seiah.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
I'm down on my knees.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
I'm begging you please to come home. Come on home,
Come one, Cilia.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
In the act in the at Noon with Cecilia. I've
been in my bed making love. I got up to
wash my face. When I come back to bed, someone's
taking my place.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
To ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Who the hell
is Cecilia? Who is this skill that's making all these
forty five artists going crazy?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
I reckon and then she's just like, he just gets
up to wash his face, comes back. This is someone
else there, and she's shaking his confidence every day. It's
not very nice, Cecilia. So why are you all the love?
But everyone's just going.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yes, yes, that's that jellyble man.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Cecilia. A. Yeah, see you ask we make challenge deliver
right here on flavor. That's right, here's Charlie. We've just
heard an awesome cover from Charlie, and you're getting oh
the nice feedback. Woohoo, my little lover, Charlie. I was
singing along and dancing in the kitchen to that love
your pumeespin on that And that's how a challenge is done,

(18:46):
ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
We never back down from a challenge. Fam.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah, so there he is, always on challenge, always picking
up a challenge and also challenging for a Zarah has
been waiting to go on her big trip. Okay, so
if you ever notice, she's off in Europe, so if
you send her an email and actually this was just
to cancel a meeting that she wasn't going to come
to anyway, you get back this an automatic reply and

(19:12):
out of office from Azoa Lane. Thanks for the email,
but I'm currently off work for my first euro summer.
Oh we get it. Hopefully I'm on a beach with
a tequila pineapple juice or eating gelato in the hot sun.
And then we have a son emoji. I'm back July
twenty eighth. Talk then, okay, we get it, man, Just relax.

(19:35):
I'm actually surprised that she hasn't put on a link
to her Instagram where everyone can see or all of
the things that she's doing or.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Like a projector formula of her trip, saying yeah, yes.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
And here's the slideshow of what I've done so far,
japping into the ring the qualifiers. It's so nice to

(20:07):
talk to you. A flavor favorite moderna Stephen, Steve. I'm
so sorry every time you rang for a big puppy
you can never get through. But you got through today, yay.
So so nevers see, this is how Charlie feels well.
I don't know, Charlie, how do you feel? I'm not
feeling too nervous today, Stephen. I've always wanted to talk

(20:31):
to you about, you know, about how this game is
going to go down. My brother, I have not won
a game for like a whole eight weeks, which is
two months, okay, Stephen, I was going to take it easy,
so that comment, bro, it's all on.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Now, come on, let's do this so you know.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
You know how the game works, though, Stephen. So you
hear an instrumental as soon as you know the name
of the song, or just to jump on in there,
use your name as about us. So let's your name, Stephen, Stephen,
nice and Charlie. Okay, So you hear the instrument, you
have to name the song and artist and the first
three wins. Okay, believe in you, Stephen mana of is

(21:14):
in your hands. Okay, so step it in. From the
seven from Routoua known as rode Vegas as well, it
is Steven and he also ran the guy who basically
has to try to get himself into the qualifiers as
Charlie per me, and we step into the ring. Are

(21:37):
you ready, gentlemen for track number one?

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Yes, Charlie, Stephen, Sorry, Stephen, I got there. Michael Jackson,
Michael Jackson, Steven.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Would you like to name the song hanging Home?

Speaker 3 (21:59):
Still singing it in my head?

Speaker 2 (22:03):
No, I know it's Michael gets someone. I can't get
what it's called.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
I know people are in the car, like Charlie bro on.

Speaker 2 (22:09):

of you singing game mass young man. Come on you

ear and okay, so track number two.

Speaker 3 (22:38):

Speaker 3 (22:57):
No, baddy, give me like a ZERI proper give me
that be the medicine.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Okay, So who's singing it? Apart from you?

Speaker 3 (23:11):
It's a guy singing that.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Yeah, thank you. It's a guy. No points to anyone.
That's Nelly the I actually didn't know. It's called the
Facts to be fear. Okay, Well let's see, man, see
if we can get someone winning. Okay, Okay, Track number three.

Speaker 1 (23:31):

which is so iconic, both of you.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Can I just talk to Stephen real quick, okay, Stephen,
listen to me. Don't you do this to me? Bro Hey, No, I.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Didn't say that you can go in there and try
to take it. Steven, do your thing. Stephen. You know

have every right to win. Here, go on. This is
the decider. And three two one and then U.

Speaker 3 (24:27):

Speaker 3 (24:36):

Speaker 2 (24:41):

I got to give him the ring to Charlie Pommers.

Speaker 3 (24:53):

I want to just shake your hand. Thank you very much, bro,
Like two months, this is a long time bro.

Speaker 2 (25:01):

the early open the ends, because I know that's what
you did, because you're such a kind man. And so
the winner of in the ring, Yeah, champion.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Charlie stays Azora and Charlie.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Charlie, you were trying to do a makeup day yesterday
basically at the gym. You wanted to do three workouts
to make out for the fact that you hadn't done
workouts on other days and hadn't been sticking to what
you wanted to eat diet wise.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
That's right. So this is a saying that goes never
miss a Monday, and seeing that it was the first
of July on Monday, I decided the plan was for
me to eat clean, train hard, and just stay on
top of things. Monday came, I failed, right, So I

(25:59):
had a big sleep and I didn't go to the gym,
and then I ended up paying McDonald's before bid. So
then I thought to myself, Tuesday, choose your day, right,
Oh yeah. I decided that I'm going to make up
for Monday.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Yep, and do three workouts three not one, not two.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Not one, not two, but three. But then I forgot
that my son had a Reguby League tournament.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, because you were saying that, you said, you go,
I'm going to go at twelve, and then I'm gonna
get three, and I'm gonna go at five and ago,
you know, you have a family, Like what's gonna happen
around there?

Speaker 3 (26:30):
For some reason, I sort of forgot along the way
that I had kids and a wife. But I went
to my son's Reguby League tournament and that was more
important to me.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Yes, good on you.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
And then I didn't make it to the top thirty
class yep. But then I made it to the three
thirty class and I did which was then straight after
that identify thirty and I was like, bradn't have it
in me. Then I came back home eight o'clock at
night stays and I did a workout at home. So
I was managed to squeeze in three workouts.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
What did you do at eight o'clock at home?

Speaker 3 (27:02):
I did ten cows on the salt bike tin brupies
and I did that up to two hundred, like you know,
two hundred calories on the bike. And then I ended
up doing two hundred broupies and then finished off with
a three k run chill out, man, come on, and
that's what I did. I got it.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
How are you feeling today?

Speaker 3 (27:20):
I am feeling alive. I just need a guitar, bro
That's all I need right now. But in other news
other than that, I'm feeling good and it's good to
be alive. And now I think we've made up.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Now we can just cruise now, right, So if you
want to talk to Charlie about, you know, being consistent,
don't bother all or nothing.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Guy right there, full stead.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
We celebrate a movie that was hugely influential with a
block party. That's what they did in Brooklyn to remember
the making of this movie by Spike Lee called do
the right thing. So do the right there, Do the
Right Thing. So an amazing movie that came out thirty
five years ago, Rosie Perez. That was the first movie

(28:08):
Shiva did, and also Martin Lawrence. Actually, so have you
ever seen it?

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Nah? I haven't. What a cast through?

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Yeah, No, it was huge. So it was you know
about being in Brooklyn. There's a lot about sort of
racial tension, and then managed to make it kind of
cool and they had Public Enemy Fight the Power in
there as well, and it's very it was massive at
the time and very kind of influential in terms of
fashion as well. Right right, Yeah, So Spike Lee actually

(28:37):
was reminiscent as he's there in Brooklyn at the Blood
Party only six.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Years ago, right here in his work we found there
in Rosen.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
I thought I was on a different path. I thought
I was going to be a marine biologist.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Don't let the accent.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Pool you Hello, And then I meet Spike Lee out
a club.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
In my entire life changed. Imagine that. Eh, you go
out to a club, you meet Spike cleaning the next day,
everything just changes for you.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
But the thing was is that it was such an
important movie and yet it didn't get probably the recognition
that it should have. So the twenty twenty one Can
Film Festival, Chaz Ibbitt, who's the wife of a late
film critic called Roger Ibbitt, said that her husband had
been so appalled that the film hadn't did the right thing,
hadn't got the awards at the khans Cahn in nineteen

(29:30):
eighty ninety. Actually was about to boycott the festival. That's
why we're saying that you can't not recognize this. But
I said, oh, we're just worried that it would start
race riots all across America. And so that's how big
it was. And they managed to celebrate it with the
joy that it deserved. And let's celebrate this song as well,
do the right thing like that is one of the

(29:50):
great tracks from Red Here Kingdon.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
The latest celebrity goss from around the world, Wave Breakfast,
Oh mcs O man tell us the news. Charlie Eminem
reveals the death of Slim Shady and the release with
the State and it's a bit it's a bit confusing, right,
So on the twelfth of July he puts out on
Twitter x right that there is no longer slim Shady.

(30:18):
It's going to be sorry no longer eminem. It's the
demonarchiser of the slim Shade. And you know on the
clip it's a lady in hospital right giving birth to
a devil and presumably it's the new slim Shady.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Yeah, have we listen, you're the little bugger that kept
kicking me.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Oh my god, what in the name of God? What
did you do to him? So the baby comes out,
baby comes out with horns and apparently this is this is.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
The new hymn.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Yes, well, the album is called The Death of slim
Shady Coop the Grace and it's out on July the twelfth,
so then we will know more. But Sissa has done
a very cool interview with Simone Biles, who you know,
big Olympic gymnast, World champion, absolutely amazing, and she reveals
that actually she was a gymnast too, and by the way,
they're sitting there doing the splits at the time, she

(31:17):
also does you know, handstands. But she says, you know,
she was a gymnast, but then she made a change
for this reason when it was clear to me that
I wasn't going to be like a national gym man. Yeah,
I was like, okay, let me see what I can
do and see what I was like. So it was

(31:38):
kind of like a head and talent. Yeah, and I
need something to be competitive there. Well, she can still
do the splits, she can still do dances. So you're
a good Scissa and that is your own Gus shaquill O'Neil.
I don't know that people realize how very wealthy he is.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
Oh yes, man, this guy is. He's a business monster.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yes, as so you know the thing about Shaquillonia. I
mean you know him first of all as a basketballer,
of course, but they're like, okay, well he's got a
huge portfolio. We're talking a four hundred million dollar business empire.
And on this interview that he's just done, he actually

(32:26):
is called earn your Leisure and he actually reveals the
kind of extent of what he owns. Have a listen.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Seems like I'm bragger, what I'm gonna ask you a question?
Who owns Marylyn Moree? Marylyn Moree? Who owns Elvis Presley?
Who owns Forever twenty one? Who owns j C?

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Penny Me?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Did you know right?

Speaker 3 (32:50):
That's crazy? Forever twenty one? He owns it? Yeah? And
I know that he has some shares in Google as well. Yeah,
what he is so so much more.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Well, he sees my real business as I own fifty brands,
and so you know when he says owning Marilyn Monroe,
it's like all the rights to everything.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
That's crazy. Yeah, I know what made him like buy
the rights to Marilyn Monroe.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Because he just went, you know, this is how people
live forever, and this is where the money is. And
so the same with Elvis Presley. But he did say
that he basically had to spend half of his money
on you know, all of these investments.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
So but he's made it back and some.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Yeah, and you know, actually some of it he has
on sold, but it's still got Elvis and he's the
joint owner as well of five guys Burger's restaurants, Auntie
and His Pretzel's restaurants, car washers one hundred and fifty
of them, fitness center, the shopping Center, movie theater, and
several Las Vegas nightclubs. Cars, basketball, and then you go bag.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
That's how you do it. How you do it, that's just.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
We do have all of the things you need, like
the from the BET Awards, so the black Entertainment Television
Awards were on day before yesterday, and one of the
winners not only of Best R and B Artist Male,
but also of the Lifetime Achievement Award was Usher, and
so they had this whole Usher tribute. Now haven't listened, Charlie,

(34:18):
you haven't listened to this yet, But Childish Gambino did
this cover of Ussher and You Don't have to Call,
and he really made it his own. It's not like
a straight Usher cover. Tell me what you think, man,

(34:42):
you my girl?

Speaker 3 (34:55):
The soon.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Much?

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Slow it right down? Eh, yeah, it's not too bad.
That it's not too bad. I mean, I respect him
for doing it, giving it his own twist to the song.
But I'm sure us just sitting in a seat like, brah,
what are you doing? Let me hit it.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Well.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
The comments are mixed. That's quite interesting to me. Someone
says he forgot the words and mumbled over them. I
didn't really notice that part.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Memory.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
Sometimes when you forget the words, you can just go
just start adding the get the crossing in a long
or this whole carry on.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
People are like, yeah, that's fire, love it. Nothing beats
these these guys. He's phenomenal. He's totally underrated. Less of
once that sort of speeds up a bit. There we go. Okay,
so Donald Glover childish gambino. He doesn't really care, just
want more BET awards than Sam Smith? Is that too
much to ask? I know it makes sense, man, Charlotte,

(36:02):
Where are you going? Today?

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Is the time of the year fam where it's a
teacher's parent interview.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Yes, so a lot of the schools do him differently.
Sometimes it's just like five minutes. What's your setup?

Speaker 3 (36:14):
I don't know, but they've given me the time. Eleven
forty five. Causine's away at a funerroom. Oh no, it's
a burial today. So I Am going to go and
see what my son has been up to. But tell
me why. Last night when I got home, he was like, Mom,
who are you? And Dad is doing? My is coming
to my parent teacher interview? And I said, oh, I'm coming.

(36:36):
He's like and he went on this So already I'm like, thinking, Son,
is anything you want to tell me right now? You know?
Do you want to tell me?

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Like?

Speaker 3 (36:46):
You know, I'd rather hear it from you than hear
it from my teacher. He's like, no, nothing, nothing, like
I think he has that more when it comes to me,
he's more scared of what the teacher is going to say,
as like you, whereas his mom, she's more understanding. You know,
I wouldn't say understanding, but you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Well, you'll find out why he reacted like that. But
it's funny. The pre loading for parent teachers is a
thing because I said that to my daughter as well
as like, oh so it would be around about you
know why I'm with the put on or you'll get
your report because I just wanted to see her face
and she went the same thing. She mean, you could
tell her thinking, Okay, what categories do I need to

(37:29):
think about? Because you know, it's like just like that.
It's the end of TIM two. We're halfway through the year, and.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
I'll update you guys. Didn't see how here things go?
Other than that stays.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
We'll give each other a report card tomorrow maybe yeah, Okay,
we'll be back a great date.
