Speaker 1 (00:01):
The Flavor Podcast Network. You're listening to Staci, Sara and
Charlie's Off the Record.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Put your record.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Welcome to Off the Record with Stacy And.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Oh, actually Charlie's not here today.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I just realized, Sorry Charlie, but this is what we
talk about things that don't go on here.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And I am talking about.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
This here because I mean, I don't want to admit
that sometimes I don't know what I'm doing with my job.
But in terms of, you know, having Dame Lisa Carrington,
like the most decorated olympian here in ever come in
and having an interviewer, I don't know what to say
or do. I actually don't like, how do you adduce
someone like that, because the things is, I am a

(00:43):
little bit starstrucked, and I really really don't want to
get it wrong, like any of the details about her
career or you know, but.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
We're not going to go like it's not a sporting interview.
This it's about a children's book.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I know, I know, but also what's that's another thing?
Doing just skim over the fact that she's an olympian.
Probably not so it's like she's here for the children's book,
but she's also the most degraded olympian in the country,
and I'm kind of nervous.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Well, the thing is, she's really physically impressive. Just get yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
They know they're just gonna throw me off. I'm not
gonna lie. A girl with biceps always throws me off.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Oh, Like I've seen men like measuring themselves against her,
like their arms.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Almost the food. Why I don't know, because they will
throw me off, and I don't think about that.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
I just get rid of Like she can beach press
the hand a kg.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
What what? Yeah, bro, if Charlie was here, we could
have made him armressle her.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Actually probably not.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
She'll be like there's no weapons, guys, I'm literally about that. Yeah, well,
I don't know what. I genuinely don't know what to
ask you.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
And this is what people don't realize is, Yeah, I've
interviewed so many people at this point, like, you know,
I'm coming up to seven seven years at Flavor and
you know, less than two weeks, but I still this
will be my first time talking to a gold medicine Olympian,
so they're still always first in this job.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
And because sports isn't like I understand.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Sports enough but not really, you know, not really, and
so it's about like making sure I not only respect them,
but then like.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Make it relevant to us.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
But you know what, I think there's something about Lisa though,
because another woman in the office, Sarah, was telling me
she goes, I just think she's just amazing, saying like
she's just the ultimate, you know, role model, and I
just think, you know, she's everything, and I think that's it.
I think, so, yeah, it's this massive energy. I've met
Lisa a few times and so I feel a little

(02:35):
bit different. But and yeah, we've done some my hate
to get that back.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I need to break the ass. Before the interview, she.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Said she likes Aaron Babe by the way.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Okay, that's good to know.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
And that's the thing is, that's what happens a lot
of the time behind the scenes, is when we get guests.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
And we always have a chip chat with them beforehand,
because it.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Not only makes them feel more comfortable, but it makes
me feel more comfortable and us feel more comfortable.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
But also sometimes you can admire someone so much it's awkward,
and silence so heavy, so awkward.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Honestly, you should have seen me. I actually I actually
get a little bit anxious. Even reminding myself of the
moment with six P sixty, I am not kidding because
I love them so much. I sweated. I sweat so much.
Sweet was running to my head, and I know much.
She was looking at me, like sort it out, and
she actually okay, like I know, it actually wasn't okay,

(03:25):
and it was really embarrassed. And the more I knew
I was sweating and that I was feeling anxious to
what anxious I got. And it's funny because it'll sound cool,
calm and collected to the ear, but in person, oh
my god, it was a freaking mess. And it'll be
the same with you know, Lisa, Dame Lisa Carrington is.
I'll try and think of questions to ask her and
bring myself in, but you'll probably just notice I'll say less.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I'll probably be saying less.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Although the whole cooppappa of her book is about feeling
nervous and then being best.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
You know, you know you're right. You s'll say that
that's true.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Okay. Thanks for listening to Stay a Zura and Charlie's
Off the record. Catch them live every weekday from six
