Speaker 1 (00:00):
Favorite breakfast PROTUSA picks.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
In a Happy Saturday, and welcome to another episode of
Producer Picks with Anna. You should know the drill by now,
but I take you on a bit of a journey
from my favorite moments of Stace, A, Zorah, and Charlie
from the week each week. Listening back, it definitely takes
me on a bit of a rollercoaster with a range
of emotions. But this week especially, there were tears. I'm
(00:24):
not trying to kick the podcast off on a sad note,
but more a reminder for how special your family bond
really is. Stace is such a beautiful mama to her
three kids, and your oldest has just moved out of home.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
I don't have.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Kids myself, so I can only imagine what it must
feel like. But I was in tears when I first
heard this. I was in tears when I watched video
on the Instagram. And now let's just say there was
a little bit of tears listening back to it.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Okay, you know when you are about to talk about something,
you feel something in your pockoo, like a little bit nervous,
like I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry.
I already cried yesterday, I don't I just don't want
to open it up. But can I share that when
So my son left home basically yesterday and moved away,
(01:10):
and he turned to eighteen the day before.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
And it's a joy.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
I was talking to one of my friends, like, I'm
getting lots of mama, lots of mama messages, people saying
I feel you, My mama. Heart is going out to
your mama because it's a joy and it's a pain,
and it's privilege because.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
You know, like, it's great if.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Your kids are confident enough to be able to move
out and happy, and it's great if they haven't run
away they're actually planning to leave, you know, all of
those things. So I'm really grateful for it, and I'm
always mindful to that not every kid is in a
situation where they can they can actually, Like my young
sixteen year old, she said, don't worry, mama, heyday, I'm
(01:50):
not going anywhere because.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I haven't got any money. So you know, there's always
that mental child.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah, And she also said, you know, this is what's
supposed to happen, Mama.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I know, but it doesn't make it any easier. It
just happens faster than you think.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
And so I ended up talking to my mother in
law about it and I said, oh, you know, me
and Scotty we were saying, what was it like for you?
And she's a really amazing, dedicated mother, and she said, oh,
I was like something off, like a mother animal going
around looking for a baby. She said, I just go
and stand in their room and look at it. Because
there was a baby to steal. I would have been
(02:25):
stealing your baby.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
You know. And then talking to one of my friends,
he said, I can't wait. I can't wait until my
children go. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, I mean it's fine to feel all the ways,
and then you have a perspective on what I did.
I went and left when I was seventeen and went
to Japan. My poor mother, I get it now. I
was like, Mom, it's fine, it's no big deal.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
But it is.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, it's a big time of life that a lot
of you will understand. And it's hard.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, it is hard, stoves, but I'm happy and hard.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
And then you have the hequund I'm like, cool, I'll
just have it all the emotions in one day space.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
But it's the thing like your boy has been raised
so well and like to be able to make the
decision that he's he's made and it's an opportunity, by
the way, you know, for people that don't know, it's
it's a huge opportunity that he is taking and it's
I feel like it's that's a reflection of you and
Scottie as well.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
You know.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
But what's you going to feel like this this is
your first baby?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah no, but really it's not about me, damn it.
It's just to every parent who's been with us. Yeah,
I feel you.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
I'll come here and give me hand like my mom
are on the show here.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
I like seeing you, like, hey, hey, hey, you're meant
to be strong?
Speaker 3 (03:44):
What the I am strong? That's been the love is
the strong. That's why it comes out your eyes.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
This is hard because we know how strong, you know,
space is, But when it comes to the children, the
weakest vocals, she's the weakest when it comes to be
the weakest ric.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
But don't you worry.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
I'm say it with the book of Eyes when it
comes to there.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
But it's just yeah, sometimes you just gotta let it out.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Go.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Look, it's a big time of year, and if you know,
finding your way after year thirteen is massive. So it's
okay if you don't know right now, just do something
until you figure out what you want to do.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Okay, you're going to be. Okay, we believe in you.
You're amazing.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Next do you watch We watch all these videos of
you know, parents complaining about cleaning up after they could
see the toys on the ground and throw messy rooms
and all this, and then it fast forwards, like eighteen
years later.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Bro, the house is just real quiet, clean. Well, okay, Charlie,
Charlie just has no idea. He has no idea.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Yeah, and he would he would if he could, Like
I think you stage, they could just stay the forever.
Whereas your middle child's like, Mama, I'm leaving when I'm thirty.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
I'm happy with that. I'm like, can I steal your child?
Anyone who sees me? Do not let a child take
the baby?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh, parents, do you understand this too? Relate tis to
the eighty two double low. Thank you those who already had.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
And I think you're feeling all right now, Stace. You
know you've gathered yourself because talking about your son leaving home,
I can't actually imagine what that would feel like.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
No, so, but some beautiful techs here, which I really appreciate.
Sorry to the person who said I need to redo
my makeup now stays boiling like a baby in the car.
And I know you get it because I've seen you
as a mother. You're an amazing mother. Poor Stace. My
heart goes out to you. I'm crying in my car.
Lot's of love, another one says, Stace. Yep, I hear
you tears of happiness, and you know all the ways
(05:35):
that you It's this time of year that a lot
of us be going okay, that the kids are moving away,
if we're if they're lucky, and if we're lucky. You know,
it's awesome to be at this time of your life
and have a new chapter to move into.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
And to be missed, yes by your son, because I
think there's a few there's a few people that grew
up and they could not wait to leave and they
did not miss anyone back at the house. Yeah, it's
funny for me because when I left my NaN's house,
it was she ended up missing me, But in the
beginning it was like bye because she always thought, you know,
(06:11):
she leaves everything everywhere.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
She doesn't wipe the shower draw down you know, there.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Was always I seemed like I felt.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Like a bit of a hustle to her.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
So when I was gone, She's like, see her later,
and she quickly double backed on that. A few months
later it was I miss you, Hey, you should really
come and stay.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
You never see me. I need to see you weekly.
And I was like, I told you you'd miss me, Like,
why is there a reverse? I'm going to be said
when I'm gone.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Why what you said in the beginning? Man, it's not fair?
What about you chilling when you left home?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
What was that like? Oh well, you're like thirty eight.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
Yeah, but like you know, I was, I always go
to moms. But then you know, after hearing Stacey's you know,
to talk about her son. You know, I missed my
mom and she misses it back and she's like, hey, son,
I love you. I'm just like, bro, I just you know,
a lot of us take these moments for granted, but
you know what I mean, it's like, you just got
to make the most of it. And I said this
(07:05):
all the time. I'm big on it. And I know
that you know your boy is missing you heaps.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Oh he will, he will for sure. And I was
saying to stay soft here.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
It's a good thing Scotty has taken him overseas because
Scotty will get him in the zone for the next chapter.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Whereas I think you'd be like, oh, he could be
crying just as much.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Too, But yeah, I know, Craig in the shower, it's
Scotti stars.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
No, thank you very much for all your texts as well.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
But good cool Charlie, you know, send those messages, give
that love.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Sorry if you're having to wipe those tears away, but
I just felt it was right to start off with that. Now,
let's get into a bit of a laugh. Each day,
while Tamadiki are setting the NCAA exams, I put stace A,
Zorah and Charlie to the tests with answering one simple question.
They think it's an NCAA level question, but really I
try to make it as easy as possible. Stays at
(07:59):
a Zura. I give him the hang of it. We're
getting a few correct answers, but Charlie, he's still struggling.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Arlie smarter than an NCEEA.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Because the n c A exams are still going on,
I hope they've been okay for the students who have
currently completed their exams and what's on today well livel one,
Chinese and Social studies Level two too and classical studies,
as well as Level three art history and in this
(08:35):
scholarship English and Economics.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
I just want to say it's interesting too when people
do exams like my son had his last two honest
eighteenth birthday congratulations people were you know, I immediately got
messages from one of the mums going apparently it's hard. Yeah,
there's definitely been a lot of changes to NCAA, so
I feel for this cohorter kids.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
They've been having to deal with a lot.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
So kaha, you got this. You can read right through
the paper. That's the other thing.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Morning Miss, Morning.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Money, and Morning Tommody g. How are we feeling this morning?
Speaker 5 (09:13):
I just want to say I had a dream about this.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I had a dream about the segment.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
You know.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
I mean, I'm just like, please the of the day
I left there, so I'm like, that's my day.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
It's sorry to disappoint, but that's not the question of today.
We're actually going back to an English question because last
time we did adjectives, we didn't go too well.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Okay, so I wasn't there that day was no, you
were in their days.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
But zar and Charlie had a bit of a bit
of a struggle.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I did okay, I think I'm going to just listen today.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Okay, So today's question is another definition of a hyperbole?
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Oh yeah, hyperbole?
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Oh yeah, I already know. I know the answer to this.
So this is for English, right?
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Are you okay, Telly? No, I'm not okay. Oh you
want to be sorry? I threw my pin.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah, I saw a Zara's answer. She's got it. You
can answer for us. Charlie, you just have a little thing.
What would a hyperbole be in English?
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Approperly? Yeah, that's like that are like said in a
high pitch. No, hYP hype? Hype? What's hype like energy? Yeah?
But if you like over hype something. Oh you exaggerating?
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Yeah, my money, exaggeration over exaggeration.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yeah, they had three this morning.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Day. What's the correct way to define it?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Oh? The correct way is exaggerated statement, not meant to
be taken literally.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
They go, hey, you had a little push, but you
got there, he.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Stays a Zorra and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Earlier in the week, Charlie claimed that his mum makes
the best all tie. The team took this to Facebook
and they got a range of responses. And while we
once again talk about food in the morning, just makes
us all very hungry. Is there a specialty is not
quite as exciting, but she'll take it.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Wow, your fano feeds you and they feed you good
because they have that one thing that they are the
best at.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Well, maybe your whole family is the best at something.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Yeah, because that's that's I get jealousttle families that that
could cook, like from guys to girls. You know, when
you get invited to their lunch, bro, you are having
a lunch.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
You know, I'm from dessert.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Some some people have like they make the best trifle,
some people make the best pineapple pie. But then you've
got people that cook the best, like you know, Lure,
you got et cetera, et cetera, just CRUs that you love.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
But the reason that you've you.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Know, this has been a thing that we're now talking
about isn't just because we're hungry, but it's because, you know,
your mom got asked to make advantage.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
Yeah, so my mom was asked from my son Rob
for his fear right if she could make her signature
all day and I'm going to stand on business here,
and I know I probably gotta ruffle a few feathers.
But my mom, hand on heart makes the best all day.
And that's just me saying your opinion. In my opinion,
this is my opinion, makes the best old day. And
(12:26):
you know, when it comes to our moms in their cookings,
we all know moms are elite head cooking. So we
asked the question on our flavor Facebook. You know, I mean,
in my opinion, mom makes the best all day? What
is the best that your faner is known for?
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Like?
Speaker 1 (12:41):
What about you? Isra?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Oh nothing? My name doesn't cook? You know, know one
for nothing? But some of the messages we got here.
Chop suey hands down, my little sister makes that.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yes, I hate everyone.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Else, does it? See the two worry? Not enough meat,
not enough soy sauce, no ginger, no garlic. And if
you make your chops we like this, don't ever do
it again.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
And here's another one here My mom's muscle fruitis that's
been flounder NaN's apple pies. Oh, this is what I'm
talking about?
Speaker 1 (13:13):
What is thy lemon and lime pork on rice? That
sounds so good?
Speaker 4 (13:19):
Triva Ricans. I make the best boiled water on the planet.
Fussed out mission quality.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Oh man, I'm getting hungry. But that's what we want
to know.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
You know, in your opinion, what is someone in your
faro the best at Maybe the whole.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Far no is just gonna talk to us. Let's talk food.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Fan.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I make a mean burger, that is one thing.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
I'll say, you're a really good c yeah, but I
will say my burgers are pretty top tier.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
That's just signatory. Yeah, and it's simple, but I do
it right.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
We all know What Now and a zero takes a
week moment to appreciate when Stace was actually back on
What Now when she was in her late teens and
early twenties. For those of you who grew up watching
What Now, which has been going for years now, you'll
know what I mean. When you come down to watch
the TV in the morning, you get your breakfast, and
you're still in your pgs on a Saturday morning. But
(14:12):
for me, I had a little bit of trauma associated
with What Now. And let's just say, my dad really
let me down.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
I will admit I think it's really cool that Stace
was on What Now, because if you know me, you know,
I did not miss an episode for close to ten years.
I was that kid that entered every competition. I built
paper mache you know, roller coasters and theme parks, tree hearts.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
For the competitions. Every competition I was there.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
And also my brother I just didn't believe in his
skill in terms of how fast he could dial the
number so that I could be someone to pick, you know,
the prize that the number that would have a prize underneath.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
So what you need to know is that at the
time there was no social media or anything, so you
were this is like one of your few ways when
to be part of community.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
But producer, and is a very sad story.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Yeah, producer, and I come on, I thought my sad
story of never winning anything was sad, but this, this,
this is worse.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
This is so much worse. So everyone want to know
the What Now coloring competitions Every week. I'm pretty sure
they had a different one, like a different prize to win.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Can verify, and.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
I would always give them. We have to go into
the computer, print them off, and the printer and me
and my best mate would do them every morning as
we watched What Now. Yeah, and then I would give
them to my dad to post off because you know,
you got to post them.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Off you So I did. It's not yeah, well you
know for a stamp yep.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Yeah, so that was his responsibility. And then a few
years later we keep watching what now, like waiting to
be like the because my damn ours is really really good, or.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
At least get one of those special mentions because they special.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah yeah, they.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Did lots of Yeah, you had like twenty people.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
You just want.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
To I wonder why though.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
And then a couple of years later I found a
pile of coloring.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Oh no, what your dad had never sent them.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
And he had never sent one.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
At least he keep one job with them. Well I
don't know, but he could have thrown them out. Do
you ever ask like, dad, did you post this? What
did he say?
Speaker 2 (16:19):
I actually can't completely remember, but I would have probably
I probably would have cried. I think I would have
cried when I saw them because I was still waiting price.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
But at least the injustice was revealed, and at least
you could then, you know, deal with it, because you
couldn't have won, and because your competition entry action ever
made it if you had had your competition entry scene
obviously you would have won exactly, But was it?
Speaker 1 (16:45):
How good was your coloring?
Speaker 2 (16:46):
I mean I thought mine was pretty good, to be fear,
my best mates was probably actually better. So I kind
of feel bad for her because it was my dad's responsibility.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
To did not come through. He failed.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Yeah, exactly, a big fail from from dead. And it's
more of a failed. The fact that he got snapped
like he didn't hide the evidence good enough Like that
to me is the fail. You've already failed your daughter
and her best friend. You've just failed some more by
being caught.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
Well, they could have said, like, you know what this
is Your work is too good to be said off.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Yeah, he could have been bothered pretty much, but I
don't know when was when is your parent fails?
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Actually?
Speaker 4 (17:23):
You two, if you guys had a recent parent fail?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, we'll go there. Stays a Zora
and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Every Tuesday we do a chirpole, and Charlie had a
great idea. He wanted to do the chur pole about himself.
Am I surprised?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Not really?
Speaker 2 (17:46):
The chirpol question was whether he should shave his bed
or not. But really he just wanted you guys to
make him feel better himself because he wanted to shave
his bed because he thought his jeweline looked good. Fast forward,
a Zorrah offered to shave the beard for him instead
of going to the barber, and he was a little
bit hesitant, but we went with it, and it's.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
About to go down her hands.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
Listen to this, guys. The beard is coming off. Sounds
like something else, no clippers.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Yeah, like a fan but no, Yeah, she's not a
fan of your beard. So that's why it's going Charlie.
You've been growing it so that the transformation after your
eight week challenge is more pronounced. And so are your cheekbones.
Live on Flavor Instagram, live on Flavor Facebook right now
so you can see the lack of handiwork from Azirah.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
I'm so excited for this because what people don't realize
is that Charlie, when he believes he's he's looking skinny
and fit, he also believes he's got a fabulous drawlne Therefore,
he wants that to be shown. And since the end
of the eight week is approaching, the photos, the before
and after photos, you know it's about to go down.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
But we don't have a number on the clipper. This
is la. I don't even know what that is.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
Zero, So like like usually you have like a number
one on there or two, but we're going straight zero.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
What that means?
Speaker 1 (19:15):
I'm so excited for this.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Make sure you jump on flavor radios, Instagram, and Facebook
right now. We're gone live. Okay, let's do this. I reckon, Yeah,
let's go.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Okay, so I'll describe to.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Well, he just you know what you're doing, don't She's
got a very nice coup of set. Wow, that's the
wrong way. I'm pretty sure you're going from the top down.
I'm prettyure you're supposed to go up, aren't you, Charlie?
Speaker 1 (19:40):
What are you going to say? Or don't go straight
to his cheek?
Speaker 3 (19:42):
You might hear us, Oh you've got a cape or anything?
Why do you think about that? Okay? So is there
is right up in there?
Speaker 1 (19:55):
It's actually pretty. It's pretty man. I can do this
as a job. But what do I doing about the jawline?
Though you try to make one is the one? There?
Have you revealed one? I'm getting rid of the gray hairs?
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Stay.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Charlie is just looking going, oh I look good? That
What this is? What was going through your head right
the NHL.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Make sure you're just like, go in contour with my
with the the kickbones and the and the line drawline.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
You know when I shaved these. Actually there's still gray
hairs underneath. But look, just did a job.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Man.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
She such the annoying sister, A little sister's like, look
at this? Is it fun? You were crazy good equipment.
You look like, Hello, my name is and I'm the barber.
Oh it's very long. I'm shaking. Oh I can't live
(20:45):
it like that.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
I think you're finished. Now there's a big patch on
his chin.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Allowed pictures from today. We okay, so just stop hold okay.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
Well come back, I'm going to carry on shaving this.
But if you want to see what happened with the
mics ong on Flavor Radios, Instagram and Facebook.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
So a Zorra has shaved the beard. Oh well, attempted
to shave the beard. It's not looking too good. But really,
Charlie had a surprise for Azorra.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Not fit a.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Good because I am now officially a qualified barber.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
No you're not.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
There's nothing that happened, but you have had a good
go at Charlie space. You can see it on Facebook
Live and also on Instagram Live. Some of the comments here,
do you know the people on live? Let it finish?
You look five years younger? Cauds he's David. Another one says,
Scott's worried, he's mad for real?
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Well, how would you describe what's happening on your face
right now? Charlie?
Speaker 5 (21:43):
I feel violated, like this is this is not right man.
He just I want you guys to put do this
chop a read from Timu.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Okay, and who's told us that that's your own. He
is so dramatic and he wouldn't let me finish.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
He's like, no, stop there stop, Oh.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Wow, I have a great call from Facebook. Rosanna says
he looks like the teacher from Boy.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yes, yes, okay, So we're gonna just leave it there.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Yeah yeah yeah that could have going to grow back
by the way that he sees your heart. Another one
says it look in us. It suits the headphone. So there,
as long as you got your accessory.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
On, it's good.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Na.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
You know, I knew A zero is going to do
something stupid like this. This is why I had a
barber reading. I got a barber ready and I want
to bring him in. Just so that we can get
the job done properly. Yeah, now, right now, right now,
this is this is not it, man, We can't do that.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
This is billy ladies and gentlemen. Billy you, Oh wow,
you've got like there's a barber out there apron on
that means he's serious. No, yes, billy, billy, where do
you work shop? Is that?
Speaker 4 (23:02):
So?
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Do you see Charlie all the time? Like do you
do here? I see him outside like next to the
homeless people. Well, how does it?
Speaker 3 (23:09):
How would you describe what's going on in space?
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Right now? There was the barber? Can I hire them? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (23:19):
I actually feel a little bit offended that you you
thought I wasn't going to be good enough, so you
already pre planned a bar before yourself.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
It's not that you're going to be silly. You can't
be silly.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Well, people are saying, it's it looks like my guy,
It looks like chopper read it looks like a magnum p.
I fail, it looks it's not my guy.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
It's an eye.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Guy.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
This is You're perfect just the way you are.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Man is savable. It's that's the professional. What are we
going to do to address this?
Speaker 1 (23:56):
You just need to cut it all off right, So
real you real jew line. There's a jaw line under there?
Can you see one in your bois your opinion? Do
you want me to lie or you're a barber? I'm
a barber, might be a liar as well.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Yeah, see how I mean take your photos now a
zero because your handiwork is quite something.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Good idea. It's kind of offended, but yep, here we go.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
I'm still unsure whether Charlie didn't have faith in Azurr
or whether he just wanted to get that haircut done
during the show so he didn't have to go to
the barber after the show, because you know, fresh fresh
beard cut and a fresh haircut goes well together. So
shout out to Villy who came in and did both
for him. Moving on too, Hip Hop Mystery, which is
a segment where Stace educates us on a piece of
(24:46):
hip hop history that is not very well known and
there's a bit of a mystery to most of us.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Hip hop.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
And today we go way back to a great song
You might need Somebody, So how come you all know it?
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Well? It's a song written.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
By Tom Snow and nan O'byurne and that was first
recorded in nineteen eighty It's going to sound a little
different maybe, but an American singer and guitarist called Turlie
Richards need.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Some baddest track and need some badest.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
But what I'm picking is that probably in nineteen eighty one,
it's the first version that you heard of this when
Randy Coralford covered the song for her album Secret Combination.
(25:40):
But the version that we're talking about today was from
Sholer Armor So good. Nineteen ninety six is when she
brought it out and it was a big hit actually,
so it peaked in New Zealand. It was in our
top ten because it was such a good cover here
in New Zealand. So Shola Armor became quite big out
(26:01):
of this particular song. So her version came out in
ninety seven, as I say, it was her debut album
Much Love, went to number four in the UK Singles
chart and top ten here France, Island, Israel, Netherlands as well.
So that was a performance that was so good that
it kind of even peaked over the Italian version that
had been brought out the year before. Listen to the
(26:23):
Italian version of this song. I mean, that's cute, but
let's go back to Shola Armor. So there she was,
She's singing this great version of you Might Need Somebody.
She actually won a BRITA Award for the Best British
Female to Mobile Awards for Best Newcomer and R and
B A and so she sang it on Top of
(26:44):
the Pops Live so well that people thought that she
was lip syncing when somebody body.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Witch just for That's life, Oh That's Live.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Because of the Kipnam being number one on Top of
the Pops, she got to sing up full time and
she said she ended up missing outer part so that people.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Knew that she was singing live on purpose.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Yeah. So, even though she was that good and was
winning awards, his second album didn't do very well. It
was called In Return. It was a commercial flop. And
then she's done a couple of features since then, but
really hasn't been able to make a big breakthrough in
terms of music. But luckily Amass twenty five years later,
people were still wanting to hear her singer debut album.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
I feel so blessed to be able to still sing
and still go do shows and still perform my music.
To be when the fact that my songs still are
played twenty five years later. I feel really like, I
just feel so blessed. They're so grateful.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Yeah, and we remember you today. Armor is a great track.
We were tossing up between the Italian version of this.
I think we'll go with Shela Arma. You might need
Somebody nineteen ninety seven because if you don't know now.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
You know, we can't play you the whole song. But
if you enjoyed those samples, be sure to check it out.
You might need somebody to wrap up. This week, Charlie's
son was disappointed with his mates when they told him
during a video game that they thought his mom was hot.
After Charlie mentioned this, Zuah kind of had a realization
on why guys are really gaming and it actually has
(28:16):
nothing to do with the game itself.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
So yesterday you said that your son he stood up
for your mom, right, yeah, I mean for your wife,
for his mom, for his mom. And I find that
really cute that you know at that age because they
didn't understand. And I remember as a young kid, I
used to feel that type of way when I used
to see another lady sitting in the driver's seat because
(28:40):
that's my dad's seat.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
You know.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
I mean, they're just talking.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
I get out of my arms, say you're not my blood.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Out of there, you're not my mom.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Well that's the thing I mean. Well, then clearly the
applet doesn't fall far from the tree. But what made
me laugh the most about that story, Charlie as I
had a bit of an epiphany because you were saying that,
you know, he was gaming and he was talking to
his friends, and it was one of his friends brothers,
who said, Hey, how old is your mom?
Speaker 1 (29:10):
She's hot? And then I thought.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
About the whole gaming thing because your son, your sons,
they are doing this every day every day on the game,
on the game on the PS five, they're on there.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
And you'd say that they talk to their friends every
day every day on the d. This is friends that
they see at school every day. Okay, so hear me out.
Gaming is kind of like what women used to do
back in the day. We're talking on the phone. Like,
there's actually no difference.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
So if these like, if you've got a guy that
games and he talks to his mates, babes, you're just
having a long phone call. You're just having a long
girllipop phone call with your friends.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
No You're right.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
You're having a long phone call and playing the game
at the same time and just chatting us.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
It's a bit of it. Used to be stereotyped.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Is a woman's thing, you know, would always you know,
be on the phone with the girls, talk talk talk.
Now gamers are just they're the ones doing it hours
and hours and hours on the phone kind of with
their friends.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
You're not wrong, Hey tell me I'm wrong exactly.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
No one should be able to disagree with that, because
that's what's happening.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Your man's is on the phone with his friends every night, Okay,
And that's why you're upset.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
It's not the game, it's the fact that he's still
talking to his friends.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Let those boys go. I don't know if I could
pay with the game. That sounds a bit about it.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
I don't know if I could do it. Yes, it's
just not enough attention on me, isn't No. I want
more attention than that. Wow, I said what I said.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
