using Awesome in a washer at myhome had great vers so all it's got
rid of that smell. It's ah H S O mme dot com.
You can see their full lone ofproducts. We know Gary, you're awesome
too. Oh well, thank you, dear. That's so nice of you.
You should be in hervis. Allright, let's give back to work.
(01:15):
What do you say? It's eighthundred eight two three eight two five
five grab a line talking home improvementand bill welcome. Yes, how are
you today? Good? Good?Very good? I got a problem here.
I'll talk to you several weeks ago. I have a foundation drain that
(01:36):
apparently it's backed up and I havewater along the flour in the basement and
it's all covered up with concrete.Patty who goes close across the back of
the house. I wanted to know. Uh. I've also taken all the
down spouts and devoted them to thesurface a lot amount one hundred feet and
(02:00):
still have I still have water comingin. And what this product that I've
seen or they make products get ridof boots? Yeah? Is that stuff
Walker bowl? Well, for me, I think you're going to be challenged
on how that's gonna work. There'sdifferent products that are made for the like
(02:23):
wasistline of our house, okay, which we can introduce those products into that
system through the toilet or through drainsor anything that's going to the waistline.
In this case, if you usethis product, then you put it,
you know, reconnected the down spoutand you know it's just going to stop
(02:45):
there. There's no water pressure tobring it on through to get rid of
what's ever in there? Now?Did you ever run a camera through there?
Do you have access to run acamera in there to see what's going
on? Uh? I would haveto dig one end of the house is
(03:06):
I'd have to dig about seven footdown to the other end of the house
only about four foot. But whatlocal people have talked to said, this
house was built in the late seventiesand all you could buy them is that
corrugated. Yeah, and they saidthat they you know, the camera.
(03:29):
They couldn't get a camera in there. It would be difficult. It keep
getting hung up. You can getthrough, but it's not going to be
it'll take you a while. Imean, you got a wig and jiggle
on everything else. But so sohere's you know what the problem is.
Not helping you. I'm just tellingyou what the problem is. If we
have that corrugated drain pipe around thefoundation underground and it's the corrugated, it
(03:55):
could be crushed, it could beseparated, it could be clogged. So
you know, my answers aren't good. You know, you know where I'm
going with that thing. You almostgot to dig that up and put in
a schedule forty drain pipe around thereand eliminate that problem. Yeah. Oh
(04:18):
uh, either I can get toeither end out of the house and dig
down to it. And uh butyou know, like I said, I
have a concrete patio. It's veryclear. Frustered back to the house,
So right, well, yeah, yeah, I'm hearing you. I'm hearing
(04:40):
you. I just uh, youknow, the products that you're thinking about
are usually used for a wasistline introducedthrough the toilet. Aerobic r O E
B I C makes a foaming waistdrain root killer. So what you do
is you put this crystal in atoilet, you flush it down, and
(05:00):
it foams all up and works itsway down with the flush of the water.
Okay, okay. And then there'salso aerobic waistline cleaner, which is
copper sulfate. But if you don'tstop copper sulfate in, there is just
gonna sit there, right, Imean, and we might be chasing something
(05:21):
that isn't the problem. We don'tknow if it's the roots. Ye,
So you know, I think maybeyou know, there's ways to do the
patio. It's not pleasant. Youknow, you got to cut the slab,
or maybe you can pull a pipethrough there. I don't know about
that. Yeah, well, onegentleman give me a suggestive. Dauter said
(05:47):
that they could possibly do something, but another company I talked to said they
had you know where they go inwith a with a tool to cut out
any roots or anything in there. But they said, with that core gated
(06:09):
is the problem. I said, tear it up. It will, it
will, it will, And againwe're chasing something I would say personally,
I would say that pipe is crushed, that it's not clogged with roots.
Okay, I mean that's my guess. It could be either one. I'm
just guessing. And I know you'refocused on the roots and you may be
(06:33):
right, but that that actually describeswhat the problem is. We gotta get
it out of there. Yeah, yeah, the old the old tree,
the same question is fifty six footfrom the house, right, but that's
been there for thirty five years too. Yeah, and they're gonna find water,
(06:53):
you know, and if that's youknow, it's been in there,
that pipe's been there for a longtime. And maybe it is crush and
there's still water in the pipe.It could be both right, And the
roots go up in that pipe toget water. They're just doing what they're
supposed to be doing, right, right. Absolutely. I got one place
in front of the house where there'ssome shrubberry. Of course the water was
(07:16):
still laying in the pipe. Well, I can see and uh, but
uh, the shrugberry up there wasnot in it. That's the first place
I went. Well, here here'sthis isn't a good solution, but it's
worth another attempt. I don't knowwho you talk to on the cameras.
Maybe we call roto Router and askthem if they can run a camera through
(07:43):
a foundation drain line that is corrugatedpipe, because I think you can do
that. It's not a pleasant task. I think it might be a matter
of whether you can't whether you findsomebody will do that. Right, Yeah,
yeah, very good, Thank youagain. All right, thanks,
(08:05):
take care. Not pleasant. Iget that. Uh let's go to John.
John, Welcome, good afternoon,Gary. Problems for you, okay,
I have a very spoil running kitchendrain all right. Oh, what's
the safest product to put down there? To eat the grease and open it
(08:26):
up? Or do I have thinkgo with a snake bown through the pipe?
Well, snake's always the more efficientone. Do you have a garbage
disposal there? I sure do,okay? And and how's that working?
Is it draining well there? Oryou have a double sink or what do
you got? Single sin? Singlesink? Yeah, yeah you can.
(08:50):
There's a product it's called drainbow.Okay, rainbow. Drainbow d r A
I N b O. Drainbow isa bacilius, which is a bacteria eating
bacteria. So that is used formaintenance and slow running drains and even some
(09:11):
clog drains, but more of amaintenance in speeding up drains. Reaction time
on that overnight overnight. So whatyou'll do is you'll put a plug in
that sink and you'll put it'll tellyou how much warm water to put in
there, and then you pour somuch drainbow in it. It activates,
(09:33):
and then you pull the plug.It goes down the drain and you just
don't use it overnight. And thenext day you use it and you find
out whether you could redo it againif you want. It might take two
turns, but I'd try that first. If that doesn't work, I think
your next option is to probably snakeit and see what you get. Yeah,
(09:58):
Okay. The other the other problemI have is I have this outdoor
wicker furniture and it's sweaved onto ametal frame and the armrestler or dirty from
body oils and so forth. Now, what is the easiest way to clean
that that you can spray on air, you know, rinse it off.
(10:22):
Mmmm. And that's on the wickerpart, the wicker, the wicker part
is it real wicker? Is itplastic lass? Yeah, it's real wicker.
I would say, yeah, yougotta be a little careful with real
wicker. But I would say literally, don liquid soap water in a scrub
(10:43):
brush. Oh man, yeah, that's just going to dissolve it. Now
do you know what coating is onthe wicker at all? I don't think.
I can't see any coating on theworn off over time. This is
pretty old. I can give youanother suggestion, which would be easier.
(11:07):
I don't know if it's going towork. It's a product called Millsic M
I L S E. K.And what that is is that is a
wood furniture cleaner, wax remover, and it's perfect for oily hands and stuff
like that. It's it. Ifthat was solid wood, i'd recommend this
(11:28):
immediately. Wicker, I don't know, wicker can be pores if that finish
is missing. But you could trythat. It's called Millsic. You can
get it at Ace Hardware. Youcan get it on Amazon. Okay,
now is there after you cleaner? What's is very good coating to put on
that wicker. Usually lacquer is used. Lacquer. Yeah. You could also
(11:54):
use a spar urethane which does alittle bit better against the sun. Yeah,
and you could try a spray fuYeah, like a spray spar your
thing. That would be your bestand uh yeah, we got to get
clean first. Preparations the key. We'll continue with your calls at Home with

fact, we're having them on tomorrowmorning. Uh so, yeah, yes,
(17:37):
hey, you were talking months agoabout paint and okay, I got
one more question. Moss on myroof. I just had a bunch of
tree branches removed. I got alittle bit of moss, went and forget
straight the concentrate. Well, no, just if you're going to use to
concentrate, mix it with water andput it on my tank sprayer. But
(18:02):
just to save you a little bitof time and maybe energy, weldn't forget
does have a hose in concentrate,So you screw the hose to it.
It can spray about twenty five feetand just went it down saturated. Don't
do it when it's real sunny andhot. Wait till it's a little cloudy,
and remember rain helps it, soyou know, if it's going to
rain that day, don't worry aboutit, just go ahead and use it,
(18:25):

Annyhow I'm a big big man oncampus here to me. Still today there
is no one coat paint. Well, I agree. Even on the self
(18:47):

And we've got a line open. It's eight hundred eight two three eight two
(22:19):
five five. Let's get to Debbie. Debbie welcome. Hi. How are
you Gary? I'm fine? Thankyou good I have. It's covered from
the roof of my home, probablyabout five feet deep and maybe about twenty
feet long. And I noticed thereare some pitted areas almost built probably in
(22:42):
the late seventies. And I've oftenheard you mentioned about some type of stoning
or dice coating or what I canput over this to make it nights and
smooth and not be simply. So. This is a patio with an overhang,
(23:02):
and it's pitted just on the outsideor kind of pretty much all over,
no, just on the top everyso often. And powerwashed it last
year and really kind of noticed itand just want to make it mainly because
they have the entrance to my homeand I just want to make a book
cleaner and pressure and OK, soyou mentioned the dice coatings. Dice coatings
(23:26):
makes multiple types of coatings. Somecan be very decorative, some can require
a little talent to make it looklike terrazo or stone. They also make
a product that looks like concrete thatyou could just smooth over those divots.
(23:51):
What you have is called spawling, and it's the surface that's just kind of
popping off, sometimes the size ofa quarter, you know, and so
it gets a little rough and unsightlya lot of times those patches. And
so Diche makes one called rock Patch. It's a relatively new product. It's
(24:11):
trialed over those imperfections, but there'sa chance that it won't match the existing
concrete. Okay, So that's thenyou get back into the Dice coatings decorative
finishes, so and they would worktheir roller rock comes in probably six different
(24:37):
colors. It looks a little bitlike a Korean countertop. You can look
at it online, but I'm justkind of giving you a general idea.
Then they have a product called spreadstone where you can actually make it look
like terrezo tile, which is verydecorative. So and then you can also
(24:57):
look at that rock patch. I'mtelling you all that because I'm going to
send you to their website on thatwebsite. Uh, there's different videos on
applications and you know, some beforeand after pitchers, so you can kind
of cipher or decipher which one youknow is appealing to you. So it's
(25:21):
d A I C H Coatings dotcom, d AI ch Coatings dot Com.
And you know the good thing aboutthat DeBie is it does hold up
very very well. I mean, you should get fifteen years out of it.
It's a two code system. Andthen you want to put a seiler
(25:44):
on that. You could put aslip resistance ceiler on that. But there's
certainly ways to put a decorative codingon there and make it look like something,
you know, pretty pretty unique andnice looking. Yeah, because I
want to kind of fill in likethe spall and then do something over all
of it. So yeah, Soso let me give you another little tidbit.
(26:08):
So I talked about the rock patch. You could use that and then
do the spreadstone or the roller rockon top of that. Or quick Crete
makes a cementatious coating called vinyl Concretepatcher, and it is a powder you
mix with water. Let's sit fora minute or two, and then you
(26:32):
could take like a putty knife andyou could just fill the divots, okay,
let it dry, and then putthe roller rock decorative coating over that.
Okay. And you said it's quickcrete vinyl patch, vinyl concrete patch.
Yeah, so you know, soa lot of ideas there, and
(26:52):
maybe spend some time on that websiteand then give me a call back and
maybe we can kind of narrow itdown for you. Okay, Thank you,
Gary, I appreciate you so much. Very good. Thanks Debby,
take care all right in uh wow, let's go to Greg. Greg.
Welcome. Hi. Gary. Ihad called before about this thing, but
(27:15):
I know you're a big proponent ofeasy breeze. But we're finally building a
house now and I've got this.I'm looking at energy recovery ventilators. It
seems like it's an easy breeze whichtakes it to the next step. What
are your thoughts on that and isit worth the extra money and can you
give me Unfortunately I'm not real familiarwith that. Is this new construction Greg?
(27:38):
Uh huh, Yeah, I knowthe easy breathe is. I'm not
saying it can't be used for newconstruction, but it's kind of like for
the house that's there, So Ican't really compare the difference. But I
can answer your question the way Ithink it should be answered, and that
is annie ventilation is the key ifyou're going to the next step. And
(28:03):
I don't even know what that nextstep really means, but I'll tell you.
I think you'd may making a bigmistake if you didn't put some exch
air exchanging unit in that house. And again, what this does it It
brings air in and exchanges the heatand humidity and then expels it. And
(28:26):
so any air coming in in thewinter, we preserve the heat and in
the summer you preserve the coolest ofair conditioning in addition to humidity. Yeah,
the systems tend to get expensive, but it seems like it really is
a closed system. Well, there'san advantage there. There is an advantage
there, and you could really getinto the finer things on the easy breeze,
(28:52):
which that data I don't have stuckin my head. In other words,
how many times that really exchanges theair in your house. It's a
very slow controlled air exchanging unit, and that can be good or bad,
depending on which way you want tolook at that. Right, I think
I would probably get their data andcompare it because I can't. I just
(29:17):
can't answer it properly. I don'tknow that I've questioned them before on you
know, like when we first starteda relationship with them, I asked them,
well, geeesh, you know, like it's like opening a window here,
I am tightening up my house andnow we're opening a window, and
they just laughed at me and go, No, the air exchange is very
(29:37):
very slow, very methodical. Youknow, it's like changing it out a
few times a day. So thatmeans something too. In other words,
what they were telling me is,you know the cost of heating and reheating
that air is minimal. Now,if they've got on the one you're talking
about, if there's more velocity andmore exchanging and it's heat it, you
(30:00):
know, maybe it'd be worth it. And it probably would be worth it.
Yeah, okay, So I'm goingto talk to the The HVAC contractor
said, once the roof goes up, let's meet out there and we'll talk
about it. So I just wantto have them your opinion before I met
them out there. So you knowwhat I would do too. If you
want to have even both companies,if you can contact them or maybe look
(30:21):
on their website for the you know, real data descriptions I know on the
easy breathe. If you call them, they have consultants that take the call.
They would rather call to make surethat it's going to function for your
house, because some people try toinstall these themselves and they put them in
the wrong spot, or you know, they got a leaky basement and they're
(30:45):
trying to fix it, you know, where it doesn't smell, and that's
not what an easy breathes for either. You might just call them and just
quism on that. How often isit exchanged? You know, the questions
that you want to compare with thatother one since you seem to have more
information on that one. Okay, yeah, because those that er V can
(31:11):
actually be hooked up as a standaleunit or I integrated into your first air
system, right, and like it'sit's over my pay grade, but I'm
taking the step building a house now. I'm make sure to make yeah yeah,
yeah, I got you, andI think you understand what I'm saying
to I just don't have all thatdata to correctly answer it. All right,
thank you much for the call.Appreciate it you bet yep, bye
(31:33):
bye. Yeah. So yeah,I think that's enough. Set. I
think that's a good answer. Allright, our phone number, we've got
plenty of time. We're going tohave an extra half hour after this to

(34:59):
with care. All right, Charlotte, Welcome, Hi by Gary. Uh.
I have a I have a problemwith I have a pony A spartic
coating. UH for a coating puton my garage floor back in November.
Okay, and the odor never wentaway. Diministering the winter time, and
(35:20):
then when it got hot out,it really got worse. And uh if
I was just wondering if there's anyI've had the garage open, fans going.
I have vinegar in there, bakingsoda, and the people that put
it down can't believe that I havethis odor. And it's the only way
that I can get rid of itis to grind it off. Is there
any other way that you might knowthat I can get rid of this odor
(35:42):
without grinding it off? Well, well, does that whole air exchanging thing,
I'm surprised. So so you've heardthe term VOCs volatile organic compounds,
and I'm sure that's what is beingreleased. Those diminish over time, but
(36:07):
it's like a year over time,Okay, So I'm just telling you because
that's that's what happens. It takeslike a year. So tell me about
this opening up the garage door andusing fans. How are you using those?
I just have a box fan witha garage door wide open, and
(36:30):
I it's plugged into the wall andI just have it going most of the
day. Is it in the middleof the room or where do we have
that? Yeah, it's in themiddle of the garage room. Yeah,
but it's back towards the wall.Okay, Okay, So so that box
fan is doing no good at all. Okay, Okay, it sounds it
sounds weird, but this is theway air works with so the outdoor air.
(36:55):
So all you're doing is you're kindof just stirring it up. You've
got a big voc tornado going onin your garage. The only way it
would work is if like, let'slet's say you had windows. Do you
have windows in a garage, Yeah, okay, let's say you open up
that window and then by the garagedoor, we open that and then we
(37:19):
take the fan and we get itso it's not blowing into the garage,
but it's pulling air from the garage. So you turn it around, okay,
And what it'll do then is it'llpull air from the garage out of
the garage, and the air willbe replaced by the air that's coming in
(37:44):
the window. Okay, that's whatI need to do. See, So,
if when you open up windows, unless there's a breeze and a cross
ventilation, right, air can't gointo an air area where there is air.
Mother Nature won't let it compress air, so if you've got to pull
(38:05):
air out and bring air in.So if you're pulling air out, air
will come in. Wow. Okay, so let's try it that way.
It's not gonna happen overnight. Um, let's let's try that. Okay.
There is products, uh you hearme, probably talk about Odor Exit periodically.
(38:30):
You could give them a call. They have a product which is a
little bit unique that gets voc Ibelieve VOC compounds that are airborne and oxidizes
them. It's called AQM and itgets a little technical, but call them.
(38:52):
It's it's O D O R XT. Okay, that's Odor Exit.
So it's eight seven seven Odor ExitAnd call them on Monday or Tuesday.
Tell them you and I talked, and I'm just and I'm curious to
see if that AQM or a productcalled Mom's will work on that. I
(39:15):
think the a q M will, but you're gonna need to talk to them.
It's a pretty specific product and it'san excellent product. Just got to
make sure it's going to work forthat application. Okay, right now,
that's good. And I'll get thewindow open and uh, now do I
put the garage door wide? Openwhen I don't have to, don't have
(39:37):
to, don't have to. Youcan put it up halfway, or the
box. You can even put thebox van in the window backwards and leave
the garage score open and do itthat way. It doesn't really matter.
Those are letting air in and you'reand you're pulling it in by pulling the
other air out. Your golden becausewhen I when I came back, I
(40:01):
came back with the vengeance when thatgot hot, and the people that put
it down said my nose was supersensitive. Well, some people are, you
know what, Some people are verysensitive and others are not sensitive. And
that goes with all kinds of thingswith VOCs. It goes with mold,
(40:22):
like my wife can smell mold amile away and I couldn't tell you if
I was in a room that wasmoldy. I mean, wow, it's
just different people react differently. Allright, very good, okay, great,
thank you so much. That's abig help. All right, good,
thank you. All right, let'sgrab Jim here before the top of
(40:45):
the our Jim. Welcome, Hello, Gary, how are you? Yes?
Fine? Thank you so Gary.I have a bathroom project I need
to it's new installation. It's newconstruction. It was my intent to do
the shower stall and ceramic tile.I just don't have that in me anymore,
(41:07):
you know. So I've seen theseshower panels on YouTube and whatnot.
There's different epoxy companies that create theseshower panels using a POxy resin over inflation
board, you know, the phoneboard. And I'm looking for an opinion
(41:28):
from you on these things. Alsoperhaps another cost effective solution other than ceramic
tile. You know, there's quitea few selections. I've seen what you're
talking about. I can't say I'veused them, so I'm going to be
shortened on an opinion. But there'sseveral other things you can take a look
at. There's there's panels, Iknow Rebath even Rebath who is it bath
(41:52):
fitter even uses them. They're actuallyabs plastic, which is the same plastic
they use in hot Okay. Soit's like you know, quarter inch thick,
very very durable. It's not fiberglass. I mean, it's it's a
good panel. Uh. Those arevery good. And I know we have
(42:13):
a place in our city where theydo spas in different things. They have
panels for showers in Korean which looksfantastic. I mean they're cut the size
and installed, no joints, nogrout messing around with That might be a
(42:34):
good option for you too. Itreally is kind of a forever panel.
Well, you know, I wentto the big box stores and kind of
kind of hunging around a little bit, you know, not to any real
level of sophistication, just as awalking through, you know, uh huh.
And I didn't I really didn't seeany like those products like that Rebath
might use. Yeah, and I'mnot so and I'm not so sure they're
(42:58):
in that chain. And in fact, my next suggestion was, if you
remember this name, it's called agan Spas. They're not in Cleveland,
they're in my hometown in Cincinnati, and it's a gen Spas. Look at
them up on the on the weband maybe even call them. There's probably
a dealer in Cleveland that has somethingsimilar, or maybe they can give you
(43:22):
the manufacturer and then you'll be onyour way a g spot. Yes sir,
okay, Gary, Hey, thanksto your time. I hope you
have to do that. Thank you, sir, take care, bye bye.
