Speaker 1 (00:34):
Well, it's a weekend Welcome at Home with Gary Salvin.
This I was brought to by Roto Ruter and Water
clean Up. The company has been trusted and recommended for
generations coast to coast. Rota Ruter fixes clogged drains, leaky faucets,
running toilets. They replace water heaters, garbage disposals, some pumps,
water softers, and just about every type of residential or
(00:57):
commercial plumbing fixture around rotrouter dot com. You can give
them a call one eight Roto and we thank them
for sponsoring this hour of our show. In fact, Friday,
what do you call it? Yes, say Brown Friday. Danny's
the busiest yes Day.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
That's what they call it.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Is that what they call it? Yeah? Yeah, I forgot that.
But a lot of disposals have issues after we abuse
them real good through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and
Friday is all people are on call and ready you
get to work so quick. Tips on that garbage disposal
(01:37):
too a game yesterday they are for scraps, cleaning plates.
I say this every year, and every year I'll get emails.
I'd say, well why do I even have one? Then?
Because not everything goes down at garbage disposal. If it
is very high fiber content like selery, potato skins, pumpkin rind,
(02:09):
things like that, starchy, leftover chunks of potatoes, rice, that
kind of stuff that's not good for a disposal. It
can jam up. If it does jam up, there is
a little safety button that pops out at the bottom
of the disposal, a little red button, A little circuit
breaker shuts it down, and then you can get underneath
(02:32):
the disposal same place. Right next to that red button,
you'll see a little opening and a hex wrench will
go in that and it should have came with a
disposal and you probably have it somewhere. And then you
put that in that opening, You move that blade around.
(02:53):
Once you free it up, you press that button back in,
flip the switch back on, and hopefully away she goes
and no more problems. But that's that's If it jams up,
that might be something you want to save the day.
So maybe maybe put on your assignment list to look
for that where that opening is. First, you got to
(03:17):
know where it is, make sure that electricities off. Get
in there and turn that and see if you can
find that alan wrench and go ahead and turn that
blade inside of the disposal where it's kind of being jammed.
So I saw this the other day also, and I
wanted to briefly talk about that, since we're spend a
(03:39):
lot of time talking about prepping the outside of our
homes for the cold weather. And it was a it
was an article and I can't remember who wrote it,
but I was I was not happy when I was
reading it. It was talking about the compressor outside of
your home, maybe heat pump, you know, the square box
(04:04):
outside where the fans blown. And it was talking about
winter rizing that or protecting it from the winter. And
I'm okay with that part. It's how they were going
to protect it. I wasn't happy about. First of all,
you need, you know, when it's running in the summertime,
(04:25):
and the air conditioner, you want to make sure that
the bushes and everything are trimmed back. There needs to
be good airflow. If that's all you got out there
is the air conditioner, compressor and stuff, and you're thinking,
I want to cover that up. There's no heat pump
(04:47):
or anything. I want to put the bed for the winter.
This article was talking about covering it with plastic, but
it didn't say how to cover it with plastic. It's
okay to cover it with plastic, but it's not like
(05:08):
a garment bag. The whole bag does not go over
the outdoor compressor. If you're going to do that, the
only thing you would cover would be the top of
that where the fan is, and maybe down about six
inches and belted it tight against the compressor. That's all
(05:32):
you're covering. That's it. If you go all the way
down to the ground. The reason you don't do that
is you're trapping moisture inside a plastic bag with your compressor. Yeah,
that's not good. It's never gonna dry out. It's gonna
(05:52):
sweat inside that thing. There's gonna be water and rust
is gonna become a significant problem. So if you're gonna
in the same same applies to people that are going
to uh cover their wood pile. It's okay, keep snow
off it, but you still want the winter wind to
(06:13):
kind of blow through that stack of wood. That's going
to help season it. If you want to get the
snow from stacked on top of the stacked wood, yeah,
you can get a tarp or something and cover the
top and you know, go down six seven inches eight
inches whatever and beld it and you know, nail it
(06:35):
or however you want to anchor it. But you want
to anchor it, put some bricks on top of it.
Two And that's fine, But you don't take, uh, you know,
a ten x twenty five tarp and cover the whole
thing and put it down to the ground and put
bricks on it there, because that the moisture has soil
(06:56):
is going to be coming up and that wood's going
to be better than if you just let it sit
outside with nothing on it. So there's a couple of
things that you will see people selling covers that are
okay if they're covering just the top, and there's other
covers that are proclaiming exclaiming the whole thing. And it
(07:19):
sounds like a real good idea. Do you think what's
going on? So you do not want the covers to
go all the way down to the ground. All right,
let's go to Ron. Ron. Welcome, good, great morning.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
More maintenance questions, starting with my kitchen sink. And you
had mentioned one time that there.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Is a little round disc that you can put down
where the disposer is.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yes, sir, it phones.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Up and at the moment this is weeks two months ago.
You couldn't remember the name. Do you recall what the
name of that is?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
No, I didn't look at it. I did not look
it up. I got some in the garage, but I
could look I could pull one out. I know. I
don't have the name. Usually they're back in the plumbing department.
There's usually a big box of it, you know, with
the drain cleaners. And a tablet's about the size of
a small maybe a little smaller than a hockey puck,
(08:18):
and it's in like a little cellophane bag. And you
don't have a disposal. It's like a giant tablet or pill.
It's the only ones I've ever seen. And but I
don't have the name of it. I think it's called
like disposed disposer or disposal or something along those lines.
It uses the word disposed in it, but I can't
(08:39):
remember what.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
You just pop it down and turn on the water.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
That's all you do. Yeah, you put it in the disposal,
You turn on the water, full blast, flip the switch.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Also, you turned me on the drain boat, yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Which I've been using it every few months, and I'm
sureous is that something that you could also use in
the kitchen sink disposure side or is it not necessarily there?
Speaker 1 (09:05):
You can sure because that's uh, you know again, the
the drainbow is a bacilius. It's it's a bacteria. It's
a it's a helpful bacteria. And of course inside that
disposal we get collections of you know, grease and oils
from food. And yeah, it's you know again. You fill
(09:28):
up the sink, you put your stopper in, you put
the drainbow in, you add warm water from the faucet,
and then you let sit for about ten minutes and
then you just pull the plug out and let it
go down into the disposal and let's sit overnight and
(09:50):
then go use it when you got to use it.
You don't have to flush it out or anything.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Can I ask one more question?
Speaker 1 (09:57):
The sure.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
And my kitchen over the over the of the range.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
You know, I've got a mind, boy, what am I
pulling near a sauceman? I've got like milk to two
metal filters.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
In it, right, and I watch pull them out.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
And clean them. And I assumed what would be a
good thing to silk that in to kind of dis
launch any grease or you.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Could try ammonium water. Get like if you got a
little utility saying, you could put uh, put the stopper
and put a little monion, just ammonium water nothing else.
You could also use that uh that kitchen degrease or
from Jaws where you just spray it and let us
sit about ten minutes and then go ahead and rinse
(10:47):
with that also with hot water. Either way, I do have.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
I have this saw street degreas that take care of
me today.

who I was.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
You were in the rolo deck.
Speaker 6 (14:12):
You're right, I have in hand.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
It's called the CLR and it is the Fresh and
Clean garbage disposal. But you know what I found interesting
is that years ago they always said do not use
hot tapwater when you're running disposal, has to be cold.
It calls for hot tapwater, which is strange.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
It calls for hot tap tapwater. Did you say hot?
Speaker 6 (14:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Yeah, you can run hot water in that disposal, But
when you're doing the disposal with food, cold water's best.
It seems like hot water would be, but it is
so with this. I guess that's just the way it's
going to be activated.
Speaker 6 (14:55):
More right.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I always thought hot water.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Would ruin You're just I'm ruin it. It just isn't
as effective. So, so the name? Is it a tablet
like I was describing.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Or no, Yes, this one is CLR CLR.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
I just started looking up the tablets for disposal. There's
one called Active Disposal Cleaner. Also it's a tablet. So yeah,
there's a couple of there's a disposable uh cleaner tablets,
that's all it's called. So and yours is a CLR
disposal cleaner? Is it?
Speaker 2 (15:32):
So?
Speaker 1 (15:33):
CLR is the brand name? Yes, okay, all right, and
it tells you to throw the package, the whole thing
right in there.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yeah, it's it's like one of those pods you throw
in your washer.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah. Yes, So they're all kind of doing it now, Okay.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
I'm sure there are lots of brands right right.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
All right, Karen, thanks for the rest of you.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
You all have a happy Christmas and a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
You do the same thing. Thank you, Karen, bye bye,
all right, and Bill welcome.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Hey Gary, I've gave a forty gallon gas high efficiency
water heater. Then I'm gonna have to replace in a
few months. And I'm thinking about one of the tankless
Do they sell them in gas? What do you think
they used to be? Someone would say they were too finicky,
don't mess with them.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yeah, I think yeah, I think we're past the growing pains.
I think it's it would be a great add to
your house for people listening. I would only do it
if it's for natural gas or propane. I wouldn't do
the electric. And what they'll do is they'll size you
(16:46):
the plumber. You know, when you have it installed, you're
just telling them how many people were in the house
and different things and the size of your existing water heater,
whether it's you know enough, you know, size properly, and
then they'll get a tankless for you because they're not
sized by the gallon. There's one brand that they size
(17:07):
them by the gallon. But if you just tell them
how many people you have and living, you know, I
always tell them you know four people, And then if
you sell the house, it's gonna be it's going to
cover everybody's needs.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
To replace my high efficiencies about eleven hundred dollars. What
is the average cost to put one in a forty gallon?
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Yeah, I'm gonna say you'll you you probably double that.
Speaker 7 (17:39):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Yeah, it'll probably be about twenty two hundred.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Is it.
Speaker 6 (17:47):
Is the cost savings worth?
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Well, there's the million dollar question bill, Because I've asked everybody,
including the manufacturers of tankless water. Here, I'll tell you
exactly what they tell me. The first thing they'll tell
me is, yes, you would save money if you use
the same amount of water. Okay, it's cheaper, it's you're
not heating it and it's not cooling and then reheating it.
(18:11):
You're only heating what you use. So obviously there's a
savings okay, and that savings there can be around fifteen
to twenty percent. Then the problem is when people have
tankless water heaters, they tend to use more hot water.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
An example of that would be a bath you know,
maybe a big bathtub, like a garden tub or something
like that. In a lot of cases, those garden tubs holds,
you know, sixty gallons of water fifty gallons of hot water,
and you know they filled up halfway. And if you
(18:49):
got a tank list, they're gonna fill it up all
the way. So they say, by the time you use
more hot water, and and there's a good chance ill
and you got your savings, you'll save about ten percent.
Speaker 6 (19:07):
And how many years, Well you can't figure that.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Yeah, you have to calculate that, but that's about what
it is.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
So from from a from a repair standpoint, you're saying
they have gotten a lot better.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Oh yeah, yeah. The only thing since it is instant,
I mean cleaning it every six months or a year,
and they've got it where you don't have to have
a plumber come out and clean it. They've got to
do it yourself. Flush mechanism. Yeah, it's definitely less costly
in terms of repairs. You're at home with Gary Sullivant.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
Time to get your hands dirty with Gary Sullivan. Give

Speaker 7 (22:13):
Today.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
All right, back to work we go, and as promised,
we get really busy this time of year, and a
lot of that busyness is preparation for the holidays, the cleaning,
the disinfecting and cleaning up the hardwood floors and the
kitchen and the bath. And we got our man Bruce Shako.
He is with JAWS, the just add Water system and Bruce,
(22:51):
welcome again that home with Gary Salvin. How you doing.
Speaker 8 (22:54):
Hey, good morning Gary, and good morning to all your listeners.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Very good. Tell me a little bit about JAWS. It's
still a very very unique product and a lot of
people may not know about it when it says just
add water. What's that mean? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (23:11):
Okay, Well you know, JAWS is a complete line of
modern day, high performance, safer Choice certified Gary which is
awesome highly concentrated cleaners that are packaged, simply and safely
delivered in a small child resistant cartridge which is about
the size of a roll of nickels, and used with
our beautiful Jaws elegant heavy duty bottle, the design for
(23:35):
reusability and heavy duty sprayer for long term use. And
all you do is you'll simply fill up your bottle
with water that you owned in your own home to
the fill line, insert that cartridge which is tiles resistant,
and when you tighten down on the sprayer, it releases
the super concentrated into the water and you shake it
(23:55):
twice and go to work. So that's how you make
your next bottle of Jaws. And really that bottle is
designed for lifetime use if you just take care of it,
Gary and so you know, reusing things, recycling is a
good concept. Doesn't really work that well. It cost a
lot of money to do all those things and a
lot of energy to get it there. But we're using
(24:16):
that bottle for a lifetime. Is really a great way
to do that with some great cleaners.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
To boot well. I love the Jaws products and the
simplicity of it is awesome. When you run out of
the glass cleaner, literally you fill it up with water
and put another cartridge in and really good to go.
It doesn't get any easier than that, that's for sure. Now,
how long's that been out on the market now in
the United States.
Speaker 8 (24:40):
Well, we started commercially and Gary, since we've started one
hundred and seventy million plus cartridges we've sold, I'm sixty
eight percent of your people, one hundred and seventy million.
I was hoping for my first million sold and we're
over one hundred and seventy million now. Sixty eight percent
of those that bought still used today. And so we
started with commercial users who were cleaning fifty mirrors a
(25:01):
day and not one, and we tested it all through there.
We found that people really loved the formulas. And I
think of all the things that we hear the wonderful
comments we receive on it. Cartridge is cool, it's smart,
it's small. You're not going to put fifteen bottles of
glass cleaner in your cabinet, but you could put fifteen
cartridges in your pocket. But at the end of the day,
(25:23):
we tested that out in all kinds of commercial activities
and they love the formulas that we created. You know, again,
they're Safer Choice certified, which means they're high performance products
that are really safe in terms of ingredient use. But
at the end of the day, modern day for the mod.
You know you talked about that glass cleaner.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
Gary.
Speaker 8 (25:43):
To have a glass cleaner you can't use on your
big screen TVs, computer, trees, ipans, iPhones because it has
ammonia or alcohol in it is kind of ridiculous. Today
we have too much of that stuff to tie to
clean along with our glass and mirrors and all that
other kind of stuff. Car windows that have UV codings
on them. So having safer formulas that work beautifully that
(26:03):
don't leave streaks behind, Good Housekeeping said up of the
seventeen they tested, Gary, ours was the only one that
didn't streak yep. Today being able to use it insider
out and you know it's just they're really smart formulas,
really high performance formulas, and are delivered in a little
cartridge about the size of roll and nicchols.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Yep. Well, as the holidays come, you know, we'll be
using the disinfectants, we'll be using the kitchen to greasers,
the bathroom cleaner, certainly cleaning the TVs and things for
all the football, you know, on Thanksgiving, so all of
these products. Certainly, I think you've said it before. We've
got a product for every surface in your home. And
(26:44):
one of the really cool things is is you got
the holiday caddie pack. I understand you're bringing that back.
Speaker 8 (26:50):
We are, you know, we seld out quickly so people
will go ahead and order please. But at the end
of the day, people said, hey, I love your their
very fit. They're easy to store this, that and the
other thing. But could you develop something that would allow
us to put it all in one little place that
I can store in one area of Myst. Homer business
that would hold the extra cartridges because you know that
(27:13):
you want extra cartridges around and a way to kind
of take care of the cleaning things in my home
or business. So we came out with the caddy. And
what the caddy does is it holds four different cleaners,
It holds eight cartridges. We have microfiber wipes that we
also put in there and some other stuff. But people said, hey,
(27:35):
is any way you can develop a caddy a kit
like that that we could use in our home. And
what we found was, certainly during this time of year
that they use them as gifts, you know, for family members,
give them parasox. Two days later they've lost one that
you have to cut off their foot or throw the
other one awashie. And this is really a nice gift idea.
(27:55):
So we have the the Holiday caddy Pack, and we
have it so that we've built in a way that
we think it makes sense. Some of your favorite products carry.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
That you talk about a lot.
Speaker 8 (28:05):
The caddy pack would have the kitchen cleaner, degreaser, and
it would have a foaming bathroom cleaner. Everybody has a
bathroom that needs to get clean, and also the disinfectant
that you were talking about in the glass cleaner. So
we have those four different products. We have matching colored
coated towels, microfiber towels that go along with it. Comes
(28:26):
with the caddy of course, and we have one extra
product we put in there, which is a wonderful holiday
product in year round called a dish spray. You know,
it's becoming a very popular way to clean your dishes.
And do one at the time, Gary, And so you
spray your your wine glass. You know, you don't want
to put those in the dishwash because they break. Spray
(28:49):
your dish, you know, and it comes with a swab
and then you go ahead and swab it, rinse it,
rack it and put it away. And so whether it
be that or you know, I don't care coffee cup,
beer mug, plate, dish utensil you get.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
And the spray. The dish spray comes with the caddy
pack also.
Speaker 8 (29:09):
It does absolutely so we put it in there because
we know that's something that everybody will want. And so
so you really have five different cleaners, ten cartridges in there,
which makes it an exceptional value and just a nice
way to go clean your house with safer choice, certified
products that don't fume, that don't streak, that are modern day,
(29:29):
that have real range. You know, to have a kitchen
de gresia that you can't use under your oven, microwave, countertop,
cook top, you know, all those things that you have
in that that won't work on the vegetable oils that
you have, or the greases from your meats and things.
It's kind of ridiculous. And so you know, all of
our products really have great range and when you get
(29:51):
done with that dark surface, it doesn't leave stricks behind,
you know, which drives you crazy after you clean.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
And you're running the caddy packs on sale.
Speaker 8 (29:59):
Correct, we are absolutely twenty percent off promo code Gary
they're fifty one to ninety nine is your starting price
less twenty percent, so you get ten dollars off just
by knowing Gary listening to Gary. But that's a great
promotion and a great way to buy a series of
(30:19):
products for yourself or your neighbor or your friend. Or
if you sell houses as a gift for those that
just bought that house, so a lot of different ways
to use that, or in your own office.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Is there any way to get a custom caddy pack?
In other words, I could choose my jaw products, Garry.
Speaker 8 (30:38):
You've been listening to our walls. People said, Hey, you know,
I love your caddy pack. I love the way you
put it together. But I have different friends that have
different needs, and so you know, would you put together
a kit for us that allows us to pick the
four items, not you us. Yeah, And so if you
don't want to go to the trouble to do all that,
(30:58):
the caddy pack we've offer is a wonderful one that
the cleaning of the owls. But if you want to
build your own caddy pack, sure absolutely so what you'll
do is you just go on Jaws cleans dot com
and identify the four different products that do you think
Susie wants and the other ones that Gary wants, and
the other ones that genie wants, and so you can
(31:20):
build different kits for different people, and we have other
products that we have available. We have three additional products
that are awesome products that we didn't put in the
standard kit. Just costs you a couple bucks more fifty
three to ninety nine. It just takes a little more
effort to put them together. But at the end of
the day, if you think somebody else wants a floor cleaner, again,
(31:40):
I don't care whether you have bamboo, hardwood, grind, a tile, marble.
It doesn't really matter what kind of floors they have.
But a wonderful floor cleaner that won't streak, that'll clean
the floor beautifully. And coming into this time of year
where you do have a lot of people in and out,
we have some inclined weather that we can need to
do a little more floor cleaning before guests coming. Things
(32:01):
like that fabulous product. You've got grandkids running around that
make spills, this, that and the other thing, so you
can spray it and clean it up real quick. In
terms of your floors, but a wonderful floor cleaner. We
have a granite and stone cleaner that has a cucumber basal,
wonderful fragrance in it. It will make your granite look
about twenty five percent is high as twenty five percent brighter,
(32:23):
and clean all the stuff off the surface as well
without leaving any streaks behind. And that's clean, I don't care.
It cleans just as well as white marble.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (32:34):
And then and then we also have an all purpose cleaner,
which is the only product we have, and most of
our cleaner scarry We have kind of basic middle of
the road fragrance levels in them, because some people just
don't like fragrance right and they want something in there,
but they won't don't want to be overpowered by it,
and so our all Purpose cleaner has a high fragrance.
(32:55):
So if you're looking for it and you know that
person really loves a high fragrance product, it's got a
wonderful lavender fragrance to it. The All Purpose Cleaner does
one thousand and one different jobs from whether it be
mechanical issues or lawnmowers or shop type stuff to in
your kitchen and on your grills and things along those lines,
(33:17):
so really has a wide range. But it's an all
purpose cleaner, so you can put one of those in there,
but you pick whether you want the kitchen degreaser, foaming
bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner disinfectant, you know you want the
granite and stone floor all purpose cleaner. They're all in there.

you I got twenty cartridges in a cabinet right now.
I have about the solar cleaners of old. The caddy
PAC's pretty cool too. Anyway, jump on board. I know
(40:30):
we'll do a lot of I give you a little
tip too with it, Jaws Cleaners. I did this not
long ago. We got a new black backsplash, uh, and
our ranges against butts into that new backsplash, so you know,
you know, making dinner and things like that. Oils can
(40:51):
splash on a backsplash. And it's now very attentive to that,
and I use that kitchen degreaser and actually used a
tip that Bruce gave me, and it works really well.
You take the kitchen a greaser and you spray it
onto that backsplash, and take paper towels and just stick
the paper towels onto the backsplash whatever it's made of,
(41:17):
and then take that degreaser and spray the paper towel
a little bit. Also, just let's sit there for about
fifteen minutes and pull it off and then take a
couple of dry paper towels wipe away any residue. It's
just it works so easy because you could see little
splashes of oils and things like that, and it really
(41:37):
cleaned it up, and it cleaned it up really fast.
And as I say all the time, I am all
about easy, and that is one easy project. All right.
We've been talking about projects and things you ought to
be thinking about and working on, and of course one
of the things that we've spoken often in terms of
(41:58):
plumbing is if you we have the non stainless steel.
Speaker 8 (42:02):
The.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
Rubber the rubber hoses to your wash machine, especially if
this washing machine's on the second floor, but no matter
really where it's at, those things hold pressure in and
you're supposed to turn off the valves every time you
do wash. And I have no idea what the percentages are,
(42:26):
but I'll bet you eighty five percent of us to
not do that, or maybe it's just the eighty twenty
year ole. Eighty percent of us don't do it, maybe
twenty percent do. If you're one that does not do that,
I would replace those rubber hose probably every three to
four years. And I would also encourage you to take
(42:49):
a look at the birth proof. That's the stainless steel hoses.
That is a stained steel wrapping, that's a braided wrapping
strong that surrounds the rubber hose. Those you can go,
you know, ten fifteen years. But that just that straight
rubber hose. If you leave those valves on, I would definitely,
(43:10):
without a doubt, replace those every three to five years.
So that's one thing. The other thing is the and
I do this occasionally, and I almost invariably find something
every faucet in your house if you gotta foss it downstairs,
(43:31):
and may you got a bathroom down there, May you
got a bar sink down there? First floors, all the bathrooms, kitchen,
the kitchen, sink the upstairs bathrooms, go ahead and just
check make sure they're not dripping. I found one just
just the other day that was dripping. Also the valve
(43:53):
underneath in the canman, just shut those off and then
turn them on again. Turn them off, make sure they're
not leaking, and turn them back on. So if you're
checking the valves under the sink, and you're checking the
valves on top of the sink, that's that's that's good
(44:13):
to do. And when you're checking the valves, especially in
a bedroom that isn't used very often, just check make
sure that water is flowing out of that air raidor properly,
and if not, it's probably got a lot of deposits
in it. Just unscrew that air raid or cap and
soak it some vinegar overnight and it'll be good to go.
But always a good idea to check some of that
(44:34):
plumbing around the home. When we come back. We'll take
your calls at eight hundred and eight two three eight
two five five. Also give you some tips on closing
up your home. If you're a snowbirden maybe heading south
or out to Arizona, we'll do all that the next hour.
