# The Home Improvement Hour with Gary Sullivan

Are you ready to tackle those post-holiday home projects? In this engaging hour, Gary Sullivan shares practical advice for maintaining your home during winter months and planning your next renovation projects. From managing indoor humidity to refreshing tired bathrooms without breaking the bank, Gary offers solutions that work for any budget.

The hour opens with Gary explaining how to address window condensation during winter - a sign your home's humidity level is too high. He recommends reducing indoor humidity to about 35% and using bathroom and kitchen fans properly to prevent moisture problems that can lead to mold and damage to plaster walls.

Gary dives into kitchen and bathroom refreshes that don't require complete remodels. He discusses options like cleaning and sealing grout, using products like Roller Rock and Spreadstone to transform dated ceramic tile, and even shares a clever tip about using a Dremel tool to refresh dirty grout lines.

Throughout the show, Gary takes calls from listeners facing common home challenges:
- 12:30 - Lee asks about using coating products on an old coal room foundation
- 23:45 - Jim inquires about Roof Max treatments and compatibility with skylights and gutter guards
- 27:15 - Bridget seeks solutions for a non-standard refrigerator and painting aluminum patio doors

Key takeaways:
• Monitor indoor humidity levels during winter to prevent condensation and mold issues
• Consider coating products like Dice Coatings for affordable bathroom and kitchen updates
• Clean and seal grout to maintain tile floors and prevent staining
• Explore alternatives to full remodels when working with budget constraints
• Maintain your furnace filter regularly, especially during busy holiday seasons

Whether you're looking to tackle post-holiday repairs or planning bigger projects for the new year, Gary's practical advice will help you make smart decisions that protect your home and your wallet.

(00:57):

It's free shipping coupon code Gary website jawscleans dot com.
And we thank them for sponsoring this hour of the show.
All right, let me give you the phone number. Love
to talk to you about your home project. Maybe we're
picking up the pieces after the holiday, and maybe we're

(01:18):
thinking about projects for next year. Or maybe that thing
majabi is just broken. Maybe we can help you out.
Our phone number is eight hundred eight two three eight
two five five. Well, certainly our kitchens had to work out,
and for many of us, and maybe our homes had
to work out. Maybe we had a lot of overnight guests.

(01:41):
The temperatures have changed in a lot of parts of
the country, so our homes are in the process of
drying out. If you woke up this morning on a
chilly morning and you got moisture all over the windows
and it's on the inside of your home, there's a
really good chance you got too much humidity inside your home.

(02:04):
And since there's cold weather outside and the glass is cold,
the air hits that hard, slick surface that's chilled and
condensation occurs. So when you get that, it's really kind
of a red flag. Your humidity is probably in your
home over fifty percent. You really need to work that

(02:24):
down now to about thirty five percent. The way there
could be too much humidity in your home is maybe
not using the fans when you're cooking, maybe not using
the bathroom fans when showering, and all that humidity is
in our home, and yet it's really drying out outside
and the windows are cold, and you really don't want

(02:46):
that to happen. I mean, a day or two is
not going to kill you. But I mean if it's
a constant thing where that humidity stays around fifty percent
in the wintertime and you start having condensation on your windows,
and you'll see this in a lot of older homes,
maybe even with older windows where there's a draft that
can be causing it also, And then you got the

(03:08):
marble window sill and maybe even have plaster on the walls,
and that moisture works its way down, and even the
marble window sills have a lot of moisture on it,
and the plaster gets wet and it starts becoming compromised.
Then that's how problems start. Usually a little simple thing

(03:28):
like humidity levels in a home can cause molds and mildew,
slowly compromised plaster water stains. So we can correct that.
We can correct that just by watching what we're doing.
And if you got a little humidity gauge, you can

(03:49):
follow your process. When you're taking that shower, turn that
fan on. As my wife tells me, every time I
take a shower, turn that fan on and then leave
it run for about, I don't know, twenty minutes after
the shower. Let's make sure we get all that water
vapor either the cooking. Same way. Got a lot of
house plants that adds humidity. I'm not suggesting you get

(04:11):
rid of them. I'm just telling you that adds humidity
to your house in a way that's good. If you
got too low humidity, you're not very comfortable. So sometimes
we need it, sometimes we don't. The only way you're
really going to know is get yourself a little uh
humidity guide where it's telling you what the humidity in
your home is and then you can kind of work

(04:31):
with it. So they just kind of wanted to run
that body. There's also things as we spend a lot
of time probably in the kitchen and everything, or with
guests in the house. I don't know how or what
kind of floor. You have a lot of wood floors,
a lot of vinyl floors, a lot of ceramic floors.

(04:53):
And one thing you may find if you have ceramic floors,
and especially when they're older floors, you know, twenty twenty
f five years old, probably was the grout was probably sealed.
But if the grout was not sealed, it gets it
gets really dirty and kind of really fast. And if

(05:15):
you're mopping it, I always cringe because you're just kind
of spreading out dirt around in a lot of cases,
and the grout gets darker and darker, and if you
got some of the newer, lighter colored tiles, all of
a sudden, the grout looks like a black line around
a whitish tile not a good look. So there are

(05:36):
certainly groud cleaners out there. And I'm not trying to
be mean when I get ready to say good luck,
just takes a lot of elbow grease. I mean, there's
some good ones out there. You can clean it. It's
a little stiff scrub brush looks like a giant toothbrush
that you can scrub away, scrub away, scrubblewaying, kind of
bleach or clean that groud out and then come back

(06:00):
with a grout sealer. There's all kinds out there, aquacial
miracle ceilings. Those are fifteen year groud sealers and that'll
really help with keeping it clean. It's not going to
guarantee to keep it clean because what a groud sealer
does it just minimizes penetration into the grout, and that

(06:24):
penetration would be water, and it may be dirty water,
it may just be water we're dragging in on our shoes.
But it'll help and it'll be an advantage. There's also
grout paint. There's even franchises grout Medic, grout Doctor. They'll

(06:46):
come in and do that for you if you want,
or you can get grout paint. One of the neatest
ones is it looks like it's in a bottle with
a sponge on the top, where you just run it
down the grout line and wipe the excess off the tile,
and you literally can paint that grout. That's going to
seal it, and it's going to color it, and it's

(07:07):
going to stop all penetration into the grout. That would
be helpful, but getting it clean still the challenge, so
you know, scrubbing away. I do have one other way
of kind of cleaning it up, and I've mentioned this
to a few people. Usually that stains only down literally

(07:30):
a sixty fourth of an inch. It's not all the
way through that groud. It's just on the surface. And
if you have like a dremal tool, you know, a
drumal tool is probably about ten inches long, and it's
got like I don't know, you probably go the hardware store.
There's probably one hundred different attachments you can get for it.
And one of the attachments is a little stone cone

(07:53):
shaped stone that you can get to the proper side
eyes of the width of the grout line, because some
of them are you know, at the eighth of an
inch and some of them are, you know, probably three
ace of an inch. So you got to get the
right sized stone. And if you have your little drumal tool,
it's an electric device. I think they have the cordless

(08:15):
to I'm sure they do. And you put that stone
in there and just move it across the grout lines
and you'll just burnish you or grind off the very
very thin surface of that grout and you you'll see
that it's it's clean, it's refreshed. You kind of ground

(08:39):
off the dirty grout, and then you can come back
and seal that and keep that sealed. Maybe change your
cleaning hambits a little bit where you're not saturating that
grout with a dirty water. But that's a really good
way I think of cleaning grout. Heck, if you don't
have a tool, even take a screwdriver and scrape in

(09:01):
the surface of some real dirty spots might be advantageous.
But I know, as we get a lot of traffic
and we start seeing things in the kitchen's there's certainly
something in your kitchen. Probably I feel pretty certain there
is that you'd like to address, whether it's the cabinets
that need cleaning or as we were talking about using

(09:22):
a cooking fan, how about that filter in there. What
was the last time you clean that? You know, that's
how a lot of fire starting kitchens frying something, something
happens and the skillet the flames go up in that
filter which has been filtering the grease out of the
air for the last five years and it's never been clean. Yeah,

(09:43):
that's a big time ignition point. Bam. If it's been
a year since you've cleaned that, I would highly recommend
doing that. The Jaw's kitchen to greaser is great. Ummm,
just taking it out and putting it in a in
a tub of water and a little don soap and

(10:04):
a softer type scrub brush that we use for grouting,
maybe like a nylon bristle, and just clean that up
and let it air dry and you will have removed
it all right. So there's a couple ideas of something
we can work on. If you'd like to join us,
please feel free to join us. We've got open lines

(13:16):
with Gerry Sullivan as we take your calls re going
to your home projects. It's eight hundred a two three
eight two five five. Yesterday we were talking about projects
for next year. My son's right now in the project
of kind of remodeling their whole upstairs, and they they

(13:37):
redid the bath and they didn't do it, they had
somebody do it. And we were down there for Thanksgiving
and he was showing me, you know, the new layout
and everything. Oh my gosh, it's just it's literally double
the size of what it was. It was very small
before and it's it's beautiful. And my wife sorry, now

(14:00):
right was she just a little drafty in here? Of course?
And his wife quickly answered she was, Well, we put
in heated tile. We don't have that on right now?
Do you have that? Have you ever seen that? The
heated tile a radiant heat through the floor in a
shower outstanding If you ever get around and you're remodeling

(14:22):
a bat just consider that, especially, I would say, if
you're going to do one of those bigger showers I
would definitely take a look at the heated tile. But
what I wanted to talk about is, may be not
a whole big bathroom modeling. Maybe you're just kind of
dressing it up. And what reminded me of that there

(14:42):
was a commercial I was hearing about Miracle Method, which
I've recommended for years. In fact, I had them do
a couple of bathtubs for me. They re glaze the bathtubs.
And for folks that I don't know, you have a
home maybe built thirties forties, bathrooms were small, tile was small,

(15:08):
probably plaster walls, probably metal laughing behind that, and I'm
telling you, if you get into tearing that out, you've
got a tiger by the tail. That's a big project.
You can get this little bathroom mine you could put.
You put twenty thousand easy and just tearing that out

(15:30):
and doing a very minimalistic remodel, I know, choke on that.
But with the modern resins and things that are available.
You hear me talk about dish coatings and I found
them probably twenty five years ago. It's a do it

(15:52):
yourself product. It's dice Coatings dot Com. And you can't
do bathtubs with it. And you can't do bowls, sink
bowls with it. I know, the miracle method people they've
got something else they use than you can, that's what
they do. But the dice coatings, in fact, no, many
people that have used this. You can and if you

(16:15):
can paint a wall, you can do this project. It's
not that art and it has the ability to stick
to ceramic tile. Now we're just talking about cleaning, grouting
and stuff. I mean, you got to clean it. But
a lot of times in those bathrooms now that are
seventy years old, the glaze on that ceramic tile and

(16:38):
machine is just gone. It's muted, it's maybe outdated colors,
maybe it has very thin grout lines. But they've got
a product roller rock. You've heard me talk about that
one called spreadstone. Can you can use that product on countertops? No,

(16:59):
stop on you can use it on walls and floors,
ceramic top walls and floors, and they have also a
countertop spreadstone kit. It's not the same product. That's why
I say stop. It's not the same product that can
be used on the walls. But really, if you're looking
at a let's say, let's see one of those colors

(17:20):
let's see it be baby blue in a faded yellow,
or a black and pink or an avocado green. And
you're not interested in tearing that whole thing out because
of the cost, take a look at some of these coatings,
or if you don't want to do the job, take
a look at Miracle Method. They're a national franchise. I

(17:44):
always say, you know it's dependable when they do it
in motels, and they do it in college dorms. They
use that product, they do that work, or do it
yourself if you're interested in that and save even more
money cleaning that up real good and putting the roller

(18:04):
rock of the spreadstone on the floor and the ceramic tile,
you cover the grout and everything. It's got not a
design in it, but it's got stone. In a microscopic stone.
You can even create a little bling by taking a
little piece of sand and paper like a six hundred
grit and shining and making that mineral sparkle a little bit.

(18:26):
But I'm not too worried about making it sparkle. I
just want to cover up that old colored tile without
there in my whole bathroom apart. And that product will
allow you to do that. And again if you don't
want to do it and you want to redo the bathtub,

(18:46):
Miracle method does that. They do the walls, they do
the countertops, they do the sink balls, they'll do everything.
But I'm telling you for you know, even if you left.
You know, if you want to change out the hardware
on a chemnetry and put in a new faucet and
then do the walls that are ceramic in the floor,
that ceramic can change the lot. You could do that

(19:08):
old project for under one thousand bucks. Let's talk about it.

with Carrie Selvin talking about old projects you can do
around the home, maybe this year, maybe next year. If
you'd like to join us, do so. It's eight hundred
eight two three eight two five five. All right, let's
kick things off. Lee welcome.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Yeah, Garry, I got an older home. It's got a
slab on front the old coal room underneath. Uh huh
and uh, I'm thinking about that. The concrete needs to
be redone the sides, you know, you know where the
original coal boxing it's not in the best of shape anymore.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
And I was.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Thinking about that spread rock. Could I do the top
slab in those side walls with that and rather than
pouring a new whole concrete, big ugly box.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Well, so let me kind of get where your expectations are.
So the spread rock that you're talking about, it's a
coating and right, so it's not paint, but it's a coating,
but it's not a patch either. It's not like a resurfacer.
So if you had small cracks like in a garage

(23:31):
floor or something like that and they were just airlined,
it would cover those up. But it's really not going
to fortify a wall or are you going to do
new walls or I'm just trying to figure out exactly
what that project would be.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Well, the top is good, and then then coming down
the side, there's like, you know, some voids in it,
which I could you know, repatch with concrete and then
just go over it. But can you do walls with
spread rock?

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yes, you can do walls with spread rock. So when
I was talking about the bathroom, it's actually called spread stone,
So it's roller rock and spread stone. Spreadstone's a little
finer texture and it just looks a little different than
the red roller rock, but they function on the same
types of materials. A ceramic tile would concrete anything along

(24:27):
those vertical horizontal Yes, you could do it on a
foundation on a house if you wanted to, so, yes,
you could do.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
It'll hold up outside then right correct to put traffic
and stuff like that also.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Sure, Yeah, like I said, you could do it on
a patio slab if you want to do. Really, I
think I'd probably look at the roller rock more than
the spread stone. It's just a little little thicker coating
certainly certainly would work on that. And if it's on

(25:05):
a floor, you'd put a sealer on there, and you
may even I'd have to. I've never really used it
outside on a patio. I've used it inside, and you know,
you do put a seiler on there to make it
kind of slip resistant. It's slip resistant to a degree
by itself, but if you're using it outside, it helps

(25:28):
having a seialer just because it's outside and the sun
and all that. But yeah, it's it's it's it's a
it's a great coating and it dresses things up a little,
you know.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
I mean, so that's why that that was my main
concern rather than just you know, the rec old concrete.
Do you know that it's been around for hundred years.
I wanted to dress it up some.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Yeah. Yeah, So what you would do in your case is,
you know, there's some voids and things like that. There's
any number types of different concrete patches. You could even
use like a hydraulic cement which drives in like two minutes,
so you got to work fast. But for patching holes,

(26:15):
when it dries, it actually expands. Its very arty, and
I'd do all my patching, you know, with that or
a regular mortar. If you use a regular mortar, I
have to add an adhesive to it because concrete doesn't
really necessarily like to stick to itself. So but there's
all kinds of patches, and we can talk that and

(26:36):
talk about that later. But once you get all that
patched up, you can make it all look uniform by
using like the spreadstone or the roller rock on it.
If you go to their website, it's dai Chcoatings dot
Com and they got all kinds of videos. Just take
a look at it. It's like I said, I found

(26:58):
They didn't have that thirty years ago when I found it,
but they had some one of the first countertop kits,
and I bet I used it twenty five thirty years
ago and it was it was fantastic. In fact, we
were out last night and the guy came up to
me and he goes, you know that that spreadstone countertop
kit you talk about. He goes, Man, if you can

(27:18):
paint a wall, you could do your countertops. He goes,
I used to that Stuff's great, and you know that
He's exactly right. It's very easy to use, and it's it.
When I first found it, I thought I was putting
something on that was just going to extend that countertop
for about two or three years, and then I was
going to try and put some granted in. But you
know what, you you don't need. It's not just meant

(27:41):
to buy you a couple of years. You get fifteen
years out.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Of that, that'd be great because that's how I'm getting
to that age. For fifteen years.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
It's gonna be about the time. YEP, I hear you.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Okay, fact, so listen to your shelf. Listen every Sunday.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Thank you, sir, take care of call anytime, appreciate it,
all right, and if you'd like to call, feel free
to do so. We've got open lines. It's eight hundred
eight two three eight two five five, just talking about
different things, kind of sprucing up, taking a look down
the road a little bit. You know, all of a
sudden you get to the first of the year and

(28:20):
it's dead, right, it's dead. Uh, And can you think
of projects may you want to tackle with nice budgets
or no budgets? We all have that issue. Got to prioritize,
and about this time of year, I start talking about
the planning stages to get that done next year. You know,

(28:44):
if it's a big project, you got to in some
cases have some drawings, maybe you're gonna move some things around,
maybe you're gonna move some walls. I mean, it's a
big project. But then if that budget's not there, there's
a lot of really really nice, good quality cosmetic changes

(29:05):
you can make. In our busiest room in the house,
which is usually the kitchen. I know it is in
my house. It takes the brunt of people. And why
is that everybody just goes right to the kitchen. It
was like when the creation of the island, that was
the greatest thing had happened, because now we all have

(29:25):
something to lean on, right, But it's a focal point
of a lot of homes and even smaller newer homes.
The way they're building them is proof of that they
have a big kitchen maybe with a knights island that
is the center and the focal point at home. And

(29:48):
maybe there's something you can do to create a good
cosmetic change in that kitchen to buy you some time
and not everybody just writes a check for a granted
countertop the next day. And if you can, that's wonderful.
All right, we're gonna give you the phone number again.

(30:10):
Then we're gonna take a quick break. We'll come back

also maybe some projects you might be tackling next year.
Happy to take those calls. Our phone number is eight
hundred eight two three A two five five. Hey Jim, Welcome,
Hi Gary. How are you doing doing fine? Thank you?

Speaker 4 (33:21):
I had some questions about roof Max. I see the
advertisements for it, and I was thinking about maybe having
them come over and look at my roof and see
whether or not it would be easy to spray it,
or whether it's worth to spray it. And I have
a skylight on one part of the roof and I'm

(33:42):
just wondering if they would spray the roof, would they
be covering the glass on that skylight.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Oh, I'm sure they will. I mean I'm sure they will. Yes.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
Would that destroy the light coming through the glass and
the skylight then, Oh.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
No, I don't think it would. I just think it's
coating and they wouldn't want that coating on a skylight.
It's a clear coating. Its function is to add additional
adhesion and a coating to hold the granular part of
the shingle intact on the shingle, because once you lose

(34:20):
the granular protection. That shingle becomes vulnerable to the ultraviolet
rays of the sun and becomes brittle, starts to crack,
and that's kind of the deterioration process of a roof.
This product was developed to let's see, I guess I

(34:42):
would say glue or keep the granular part of the
shingle intact. And it lasts for about five years, and
then you'd have to have it resprayed. And you know, eventually,
eventually you're going to replace the roof. If you're you
know you can. I think you can do up to

(35:03):
three coatings. And so it's five years, five years, five years,
and my understanding twenty five to thirty percent of what
it would cost you to do a roof is what
the cost of a coating is. And you've got to
make sure that there's enough coating on there to make

(35:24):
it worthwhile, which is, you know what they got to
inspect when they come out to the house.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Okay. The other question I have is with the gutter guards.
If you would you have the roof mac sprayed and
you had the gutter guard where you have the fine
mesh covering over the gutter, would if they if you
had the gutter guard put on first, and then they
sprayed the roof. Would that spray possibly seal the screening

(35:54):
on the gutter guard and then make it ineffective?

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Yeah, I would say it would not be that thick,
But I really don't know for sure the correct answer
on that. But having seen it, I would say it
would not mess with it. But that's probably a question
for them. I would say from what I've seen though,
that wouldn't affect it. Now. I don't know if they covered,
I don't know how they or they just spray over it.

(36:17):
I don't know, but it's not that thick that it
would be a deturn to That would be my guess.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
Okay, and then my last question is with the roof Max.
Can they apply that in the winter months or would
I have to wait for the spring?

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Oh yeah, they can play in the Winner as long
as it's you know, as long as it's a warm winner,
you know. I mean, I don't think they're going to
be spraying it at twenty degrees.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
Yeah, well I knew that, but I like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Oh yeah, yeah, I'm sure they will.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Okay. Well, love your show, Gary, and thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
You're quite welcome. Thanks Jim. All right again that phone
number and you can reach us. It's eight hundred eighty
two three eight two five five and let's go to
Bridget Bridget. Welcome, Hey, good morning, Gary morning.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
I got two questions for you.

Speaker 6 (37:12):
One regard I'm trying to redo this house and everything
I'm running into is not.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Your standard size.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
Everything's got to be a custom size, including the refrigerator.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Oh jeez, I've got a height.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Yeah, I'm telling you everything. The height of the refrigerator
is sixty eight. All the refrigerators are seventy. So I
found one that I found one that I can get
in there. I found one.

Speaker 6 (37:37):
Okay, it is a stainless steel color, which totally does
not go with my vibe I got going on.

Speaker 5 (37:46):
Is there a good rap that I can do on
the appliance.

Speaker 6 (37:51):
I'm coming across the car wraps, and when I do
a Google search, it's all coming up car wraps.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Can I use a car wrap.

Speaker 6 (37:58):
On an appliance or is there a specific one that's
made for appliances.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
That's a good question. I don't know. I don't know
if you can use a car wrap.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Why.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
I'm gonna think you could, but I don't see why
not any But I don't know for sure. Another thing
you could take a look at is there's a what
about like a lambinate panel that could be with adhesive
put on there?

Speaker 5 (38:27):
Okay, okay, I'm open to anything.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
And so in the cabinet tree aisle they you know
when you've been in kitchens where they have cabinet panels
that go over a refrigerator, that also might be something
you want to take a look at. And I probably
be more expensive than that car wrap, but probably that
might be an option also.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
Okay, okay, I'll definitely look into that.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
I like the car wrap idea. That's very creative.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (38:56):
Yeah, they're coming a million colors. I can get color
I want.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
The other question. I got a patio door, sliding patio door.
It's aluminum. It's the cheapest thing that you can get.

Speaker 6 (39:09):
Okay, but again it's a custom size and it will
cost eight thousand dollars to have one made to that
spot and I don't have that. Can I paint the
aluminum on the patio door? Do I spray paint it
or do I paint it with a paint brush?

Speaker 1 (39:25):
You could do either. You could do either, and you
probably really gotta have. We're probably really going to have
more control painting it with a brush, Yeah, I guess.
And there's I can tell you there there is a
there's a specific kind of paint which which would be
outstanding for that. It's a Sherwin Williams product. It's called

(39:51):
your Thane. It's called Emerald EU, a thane trimm enamel.
It's inside or outside. I've used it on the interior,
would work, It functions, It feels like it spreads like
an old fashioned oil base. You can really blush it out.

(40:12):
It comes in a satin or a semiglass. It attaches
to aluminum. If you want to stop into a Sherman
Williams paint store and talk to him about that, it
really is. It's a phenomenal product. And another option for
you too. Again it's going to be more expensive than

(40:34):
painting that. But another option would be maybe taking out
that door and getting a carpenter in there to reframe
that door for or you know, making it a little
smaller where it would fit a non custom door, which
was going to be probably less expensive than creating a

(40:57):
custom door, is to make a space custom sized.

Speaker 5 (41:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (41:03):
Okay, okay, okay, and that paint that I use on
the patio.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
Can I also use it on the exterior door?

Speaker 1 (41:10):
You sure can? You sure can?

Speaker 5 (41:12):
It's the regular door.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Yeah, okay. It is a trim enamel, but it's a
Eurothane based and it's uh uh you know, not an oil,
but you could use it. I use it on my
interior doors and my interior wood work, and I've used
it also on exterior doors. I mean it's an interior
exterior super duper trim enamo.

Speaker 5 (41:32):
Oh perfect, I gotta get her Williams.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
There you go. It's not cheap. It is good.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
Oh, it's worth it. It's worth it. It is yeah,
it is okay, Well, thank you so much. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
All right, Bridget call anytime. Thank you, take care, bye
bye all right.

Speaker 5 (41:50):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
In fact, just a quick reminder if you're listening to this,
because each hour we do, we podcast that hour and
Danny has them titled real Nice. You can go to
the eye app hit the little magnifying glass. It's at
Home with Gary Sullivan and a lot of times if
you're listening to the podcast, you hear me giving out
the phone number, and of course you can't call because
you're listening to it whenever. So let me give you

(42:13):
the hours that we're actually doing a show. Make note
of it. It's easy to remember. It's nine to noon
Eastern time, Saturday and Sunday, nine to noon Eastern time.
If you're an affiliate, maybe you're listening to this since
four o'clock in the afternoon and you're wanting to call, Well,
you can't because I'm not here. But I am here,

(42:34):
and I'm here on Saturdays and Sundays nine to noon.
Make note of that. Happy to talk to you about
your home projects, maybe a little bit of maintenance. We
talk an awful lot about that repair, you know, installation, ventilation, weatherstripping,
the whole gamut seasonally or even out of season. And

(42:55):
we take those calls, like I said, from nine to
noon Eastern time, Saturday and Sunday, and it's eight hundred
eight two three eight two five five and again you
can pick up each hour via podcast on the iHeart
app and it's at Home with Gary Salvyn. You can
do that whenever you want. Fair enough, all right, talking
a little home improven and certainly all kinds of things

(43:18):
to do. And a quick question is when was the
last time you changed that filter? In your furnace. Huh yeah,
if it's been a couple two to three months, you
might want to do that. Our homes get a little
busy now we stir up a little bit more dust.
Sometimes they get dirtier faster than they normally do, So
make sure that filter is changed in a timely manner.

(43:40):
Otherwise it's gonna impede, quite honestly, the air that you're
already paid to heat. So keep that in mind. Get
that change in the next couple of days. If it's
been a while, all right, we'll continue with your calls.
You're at home with Gary Sullivan.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
Weekends, I mean a never ending list of things to
do around your home. Get help at one eight hundred
