Speaker 1 (00:32):
Well, it's the weekend. Welcome aboard. You're at home with
Gerry Selvin. Thanks for joining me another hour getting a
few things done around the home, and if you would
like to join us with your home issue, feel free
to do that. Our number is eight hundred eight two
three eight two five five and you can grab a
line and one of the things, you know, as we're

(00:55):
talking about projects for spring and summer, you know, we
talked about the talked about asphalt. I'm sure we'll talk
about decks at some point today. But also kind of
taking a look at the house. What are you finding
on your house, whether you have vinyl sighting, whether you
have aluminum sighting, whether you have hardy board sighting, whether

(01:22):
it's just you know, wood that's trimmed out, is it
kind of just faded a little bit, depending on the
quality of paint or coatings you have on your house
or the type of I guess sighting that it is.

(01:43):
Oxidation can be a big issue. For instance, vinyl sighting,
even though the color is all the way baked through,
it definitely oxidizes. And there's oh, you know, inexpensive vinyl
sighting and better sighting, inexpensive signing, non version vinyl sighting

(02:09):
is going to oxidize faster than a virgin based sighting
hardy board. There is a high I think it's a
high pH in there and that we're getting some signs
of oxidation on hardyboard now, which is interesting. Fifty year
warranty you can check with a hardyboard. I don't think

(02:34):
that's going to be covered. I don't know that the finishes.
The finish is not covered for fifty years, but I
think it might be covered for twenty five. But there's
ways to clean that, and certainly you can repaint it.

(02:55):
I know you'd rather not do that, but two clean
that off to get rid of that oxidation. Simple soap
and water solution can remove a lot of the dirt
and the modeled oxidation. And if you got some stubborn areas,
you might even use a little vinegar and water that'll

(03:15):
remove oxidation. And then really stubborn and oxidation is like
if you had a gray siding like gray sighting or
a maroon sighting. That maroone sighting almost turned I'm not
gonna say pink, but it don't have a white haze
in it. And when you get that off, it'll look

(03:37):
new again, and you should never paint over that oxidation.
So really, I just can't emphasize enough that today's paints
or coatings, how they resist that for long periods of

(03:57):
time fifteen in twenty five years. And if you're having
that problem, the secret again is Preparation's the key. Right
scrub scrub, scrub, Get a good clean, bondable surface. If
you're gonna use paints at is self priming. I talked

(04:20):
to the folks from Rhino Shield yesterday, and that is
a coating and it's like ten mills thick. You do
that really good plastic. You getting a big ten foot
by twenty five foot rolls at a hardware store, that's
like four mil plastic. The Rhino Shoe's like a ten

(04:44):
mil coating and that's warranted for twenty five years from peeling, delaminating, chipping.
So that's an option. Also, there's a lot of options
out there. I guess the point is if you're going
to have the whole exterior saw of your house, whether

(05:05):
it's vinyl sighting or a hardy board or even the
old aluminum sighting. Years and years and years ago, I
had an older home and it had dings and dents.
We had no money, and we painted it and yeah,
we got rid of all that oxidation to a point
where that aluminum sighting, the aluminum actually was visible. There

(05:30):
was very little of the factory finish left on that sighting,
and when we cleaned it, we cleaned the rest of
it off, primed it and paint it. And we had
moved after a while. But I driving by that house,
I bet they didn't repaint that for twenty years. It
looked good and so you know, it looked bad before

(05:57):
because it was gray, it looked dirty. Once we got
that oxidation off, there wasn't a finished coat on there.
But in a lot of cases, a newer sighting you
get the oxidation off and the sighting looks new. You
don't have to paint it. But whether you have to
paint or not have to paint it, oxidation can really, really,

(06:18):
you know, really hurt the curb appeal of your home
and might be something to take a look at. If
you notice that when you're working outside you brush up
against the house and the color of your houses on
your black T shirt, that's oxidation that certainly needs to
be taken care of to get the look that you want.

(06:41):
So when you're walking around the house and you might
make notes of that and also checking your screens. We
spoke about that before too. Those fiberglass screens in your windows,
they have a lifespan of about twelve years, especially if
it's facing the south and west. Fiberglass screen is just
fiberglasses like a cloth, and with the weather and the sun,

(07:07):
it goes from a dark gray to almost white, and
then it becomes threadbare and tears. So replacing that screen
is important. You can get a black screen, a black
or gray screen that minimizes the glare. So if you've

(07:28):
got a nice view at your window or something along
those lines you just want to see outside, that works
better than the silver aluminum screen. But they do make
a black aluminum screen which is going to last you
longer than a fiberglass, but more difficult to install because

(07:51):
it's more rigid, it's got more body to it. So
kind of dressing up the outside of the home, we
are that's for sure. We look for oxidized paint and
torn screen and even checking around the entry door. I
know we get those calls a lot of you've got
a just remember a protective coating over a fiberglass stained

(08:16):
door is not polyurethane. Or if it's a wood door
it's stained, it's not polyurethane. Polyurethane has very very very
low resistance to the UV rays of the sun. It'll
turn yellow, it will crack, it'll get little tiny pinholes in,
it will peel. So the protecting you would use on

(08:39):
those kinds of doors and that type of finish is
a spar your thinge or a marine yourthane, or you
can paint it unless you want that wood look. But
you can paint them all right. Our phone number lines

All right, you're at home with Gary Sullivan talking a
little bit about home improvement today, and let's get to
the phones. We got Frank, Frank, welcome.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
An ungary.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
Yes, sir Garry, I have aluminous siding on my house.
And I left this house like forty eight years ago, okay,
and now I noticed that the front of the face
of the siding is pitting, and I removed a piece
of it and the whole backside. That's what I thought

(12:25):
oxidization was, was like oxidizing behind the backside of the
aluminum siding. I'm through and I was wondering what causes that.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Well, the oxidation I was talking about was more on
the coating on the front side. But even does oxycize.
Oxidation does occur on aluminum based on some chemicals that
are present. Now I'm guessing I don't know this, but
I'm guessing that the wood trim around that house or
something there was you know, I don't know if there's

(13:02):
a house wrap there or no house wrap and right
on wood, whether there was a preservative on that wood.
But something is interacted with the aluminum, causing that oxidation
to occur in the aluminum, and it can pit and
it can create pinholes, and that that would be my
guess of what's causing it.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Yeah, I didn't see no rap underneath. It was just
sliding over like clapboard and stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, that would be my guess. It's interacting with something
that's you know, touching it or off guessing onto it.
I'm sure that's what it is fifty years is a
long time too, you know, so it's had a long
time to sit there and marinate, if you will.

Speaker 5 (13:45):
Yeah, And I was wondering, Yeah, I'm thicking that, you know.
I was wondered if it was like condensation would make
it happen or something. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Well, you know, obviously the house wrap is important, right,
that creates that buffer that's got a vapor barrier. Maybe
it used to be like on the outside or the
shower wall inside the home, if it had clapboard outside
and it didn't have a vapor barrier, which it didn't,

(14:18):
and that moisture would go from the shower, it would
work its way to the It would actually cause the paint,
the oil based paint which couldn't breed the peel. And
that was a common, common, common problem. So things have
progressed so over forty eight years. You know, again, I'll
go back to some of the you know, whatever was

(14:39):
used in the wood as a preservative or something, or
it's plywood, maybe the glues. I don't really know exactly
what that one thing would be. But with that moisture,
you know, over the course of fifty years, it could
create some oxidation on the back of the sighting. Is
it everywhere on the sighting? Is there just a particular
place here and there.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
I noticed it on the front porch, most of it underneath,
you know, on the entryway they have both sides. It
seemed to be pinning quite a bit. And I'm saying,
you know, it's that's like a east west situation with
the front and the back of the house. You know,
it just catch some sun at the end of the day,

(15:23):
you know what I mean, and stuff. But right kind
of what was doing. I got another thing, Gary, give
us a little heads up to people about my soil
pipe down the basement clogged up, right and I had
to get a guy out the train guy there to
do it. And it was all from the plastic feminine

(15:46):
products that women use and throw them down toilet and
it actually clogged the four inch cast iron pipe really solid,
and it backed up all the waists in the house.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
My house is eighteen eighty three, three stories in all.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Wow. Yeah, yeah, I'll tell you another thing that's really
a big issue right now also is baby wipes. I
know a lot of plumbers are having some difficulty on that.
Not so much in the wastepipe, but well on the
waste pipe going out and underground, we're running cameras down
through there is to see where the blockages. We're finding

(16:25):
that a lot, Frank, if you would hold on, I've
got a cannon or not can a bottle of the
Jawl's Cream cleanser. I want to get you and Danny'll
get your name in phone number. I appreciate your call.
All right, let's go to Bill. Bill, welcome, appreciate what
you do.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
I don't know if it's going to be this summer
maybe next, but replacing back deck. And I hear everybody
call every weekend what kind of PSI should I use
before I clean my And it seems it seems like
they're doing the wooden deck and the you know, pressure

(17:08):
washer and everything, and then you get to wait three
days and then and I'm going, good, lord h what's
the pros and cons between the wood or composite.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Well, first of all, you don't have to wait three
days after you clean it unless you use it an
oil based deck stain. You can just wait two hours
if you're using a cryly deck stain. But the pros
and cons with composites in uh in pressure tree wood
are enormous. Quite honestly, the pressure treated wood is not
the pressure treated wood that we knew twenty five and

(17:44):
thirty years ago. You know, it's pressure treated. It does
a decent job, you but it's wood, and it's you know,
if you're not going to maintain it. Maintenance is a
key with pressure treated wood. I mean that means cleaning
and staining it every three to five years.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
And that's what I'm looking at with a gag the
kids here and I'm like, yeah, I don't want to
be like everybody else and taking that time to do that. Sorry, okay,
so are you going to say so?

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Then the next step up is the composite. I mean,
that's why it was created. Is I use the phrase
all the time. We spend more debt and more time
working on our deck than we do enjoying the deck
between the cleaning and the staining. So the composite, yeah,
it's going to cost you another probably two times what
pressure you would maybe two and a half times. But

(18:37):
there's some unbelievably wonderful composits out there. They've taken the
wood out of play, if you will, and they've capped
it with a PBC product or a polyurethane product and
polyethylene I'm meant to say, And so you take the
sun out of it. So you take the sun damage

(18:57):
out of it. You don't have to stain it. You know,
you gotta clean it, you gotta sweep it and hose
it off, but you don't have to worry about doing
all the hard work. And those finishes now have like
a twenty twenty five year guarantee, So there's no comparison
in my book. The biggest comparison is the priced egg.
But if you're looking for a maintenance free clad deck,

(19:22):
that's the only way to go. All right, Thank you
very much for the call. I appreciate. Yesterday we had
a long conversation about a concrete overlay with Peter Dice
from Dice Coatings. That's what we're gonna hear again coming up.

after the top of the iron, You're at home with
Gary Sullivan. We've been talking a little bit today about Yeah,
spring sprung and there's gonna be some work we're gonna
have to do on concrete surfaces this year. As the
last caller, he and I just spoke of. So so
we have the man Peter Dish from DICEE Codings join us. Peter,

(22:47):
welcome that home with Gary Sullivan once again. How are you.

Speaker 6 (22:52):
I'm doing great?

Speaker 8 (22:53):
Good morning, Gary man.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
I'll tell you what Winner's been tough and I know
where I'm at. There's been a lot of damage to
concrete and resurfacing concrete. You've been working on that for
a number You're telling me a little bit about dice
Cotings first, Peter.

Speaker 8 (23:12):
Well, what we are is a manufacturer of resurfacing coatings
and architectural coatings. But basically concrete is a huge area
for us because, as we all know, concrete can tend
to look drab, worn, you know, sometimes it really really,
you know, cries out for a splash of color. And

(23:33):
that's really what we try to solve. And it's both
for DIY and for professionals to install these products.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, I'm sure people have even seen and gosh, is
that's stuff expensive. And I'm not talking about the dice
coating products. I'm talking about people that like redo concrete
floors and different ureas and different things. I mean the
eight and ten thousand dollars, you've got a commercial product
and it's affordable, and it's a DIY coating. And one

(24:03):
of the ones we've talked about for a long time
is the spread rock. Is that something you can use
inside and outside?

Speaker 8 (24:11):
You absolutely can. So basically, if you're going to think
about spread rock, think about a real granite coating, that
beautiful granite speckled look, but it's real rock, and instead
of rolling it on like some kind of paint, you're
actually spreading it on like butter. So basically, if you

(24:34):
have a patio or a pool deck, or steps or
porch or garage floor or any kind of concrete surface
that is looking tired, maybe you want to hide some flaws.
Spread rock is something that you just spread on nice
and smooth, either from a standing position with a application squeegee,

(24:59):
or if you're more on you can get on your
knees and you can use a trowel.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
But the effect is immediate.

Speaker 8 (25:06):
It's beautiful, it covers everything, and it's a night and
day difference in terms of the elegance of what you
get on your surface. It's immediate and it's real stone.
So it's something that if you've got a surface that's
you know, clean prior to application, it's going to anchor
in and it can stay there literally for years and years.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
So it's so I kind of really I got to
figure out how to ask this question. So you say
it's real stone, which is real stone, but it's spreadable.
So a lot of people listening right now like, Okay,
how do I spread pea gramm? I mean, it's it's
in with it's in with something to bond all this together,
and it's almost, I guess microscopic. I mean, if you

(25:49):
can trial it, it's almost like a pacete. You said, butter,
so it is you know, it's smooth.

Speaker 8 (25:54):
Right, Yeah, it's it's it's not like pea gravel. That's
that's kind of large. But I mean it's definitely it's not,
you know, like a fine fine powder by any means.
It really is stone. And you can look at the
pictures of it online. But basically all you do is

(26:15):
you dump some on the ground on top of your
concrete and then you take either a squeegey trowel, which
are extremely common, right, or you use a trowel on
actual hand trowel, But regardless, you know, you don't have
to get on your knees. You just stand there. It's
it's almost like sweeping the floor, except every sweep is

(26:37):
spreading on this beautiful stone layer. And what it does
is it fills everything up. It covers any little hairline cracks,
and automatically you don't really have concrete anymore. You have
concrete that is beautifully dressed in a stone surface. So
just think about how nice this is going to look

(26:58):
on your pool deck or your beautiful patio with your
furniture or your steps. Basically, you can add some slip
resistance to surfaces and beauty all at once, and when
you apply it usually let's say outdoors. If you do
it outdoors, it's going to be dry and maybe an

(27:19):
hour hour and a half, so it dries quick, it's odorless,
it's non toxic, easy soap and water clean up, and
you've got something that is just night and day compared
to what you had the day before. And it's easy
to do now.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Peter, people, you know I was talking about winter damage.
I know we had a lot of salt damage and
stuff like that, with some spawling on the surface. This
the spread rocket stuff. How thick is that? Or should
I use a patching underneath that?

Speaker 8 (27:54):
If you want to patch it. We do have something.
Now you can use other patching things, but we have
something that it's easy and pre mixed. It's a one
component product called rock Patch rock patch, and you basically
slather that on and you fill up any cracks or
major pitting or anything that you've got in the surface.
You've got a nice, smooth repair. But now you don't

(28:16):
want to see that repair anymore. And it doesn't matter
what you've used, whether you've used rock patch or anything else.
You want to now hide that so that everything looks
uniform and beautiful. So now you apply to spread rock,
and that's the beauty of spread rock. It will cover everything.
You'll never know anything was repaired. The surface will look
like a million dollars and you've done it literally in

(28:40):
a few hours, in one afternoon, and in the following
day you would apply seiler and the thing is done.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Yeah, you know, you're so right too. I mean, any
kind of patch. I've talked to people about an apron
on a driveway already, and it's like I got some
small cracks and I got a little spawling. I go, well,
be mindful that what every used to patch, it's gonna
look patched. Very seldom is it ever a perfect match.

(29:06):
So you know, I know what's out there, and your
product is very unique. A lot of times there are
cementatious coating that you put on, like a driveway seiler
with a broom or something, and it's just it's it's
gonna last you a couple of years. The spread rock

(29:27):
being actual rock. How long is something like that able
to uh withstand the elements on the extiar of our homes.

Speaker 8 (29:38):
Well, the great thing is that regardless of what climate
you live in, uh and what kind of weather you
get during the winter, it's gonna stand up beautifully. So basically,
even if your environment is very snowy, and if they
use salt on the roads, or if you're you know,
way down south and you're right next to the ocean

(29:58):
and you've got salt spray, sure, this is a very
very hard surface that'll stand up. UV doesn't affect it.
It's it's stone. I mean, you know, that's the timelessness
some stone. So you'll put that on and it will
stand up to the elements. It'll stand up to snow shoveling.
So if you've got it on your porch and steps,

(30:20):
don't worry about it. You can shovel it just fine
and it'll just keep on, you know, doing its job.
And some of the oldest applications of this material we're
talking twenty five years. So if you've got yeah, so
so if you've got a surface that you know you've

(30:41):
done these repairs and you want everything to look great.
You know, obviously if you just paint over a patch
or repair, chances are that patch and repair is going
to be visible right through. You're going to see that texture.
The beauty of the spread rock is that, since you
are really resurfacing, it hides everything, it beautifies everything, It
gives you a new surface upon which to walk, sure,

(31:02):
and it completely renews everything.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
It sounds delightfully easy too. What's in what's in involved
in terms of prepping that.

Speaker 8 (31:13):
Concrete, Well, the gold standard is to pressure wash. So
basically the whole idea there being if you're pressure washing,
you're going to be blasting all of the dirt out
of the pores that are in the concrete, because what
you want is you want to spread rock coating system

(31:34):
to anchor in. So the best way to do that
give it a pressure wash, get it clean. You'll see
that dirt coming out. You'll see the difference in the
color of your concrete between where it's been pressure washed
and not. And then just let it dry for half
an hour and then you're good to go. You know
you're going to anchor in, and it's a three step process.
So wherever you would be purchasing this material, there is

(31:57):
a chart that shows exactly what you need for your
square footage, and basically it's three things. You're going to
use the Ditsche Coding's textured primer, which you'll roll on
just with a regular three eight cent roller, and that
dries very fast, so in half an hour it's dry.

(32:19):
But now what that's done is it's anchored deep into
that concrete, so it's going to stay there and it's
going to do its job. So then after that half
an hour, you can go ahead and you can apply
spread rock. So you're going to spread that on and
it will dry outdoors. Let's say you're talking an hour

(32:41):
to two hours. So let's say you give it an
extra hour to dry and get fully hard. Then you
would just put on a second coat. So now all
that stone is locking into itself and it's creating a
very smooth, very firm, very solid surface us and then

(33:01):
after that you've got the beauty. You can see exactly
what you've what you've achieved.

Speaker 6 (33:07):
You leave it alone.

Speaker 8 (33:08):
Next day you roll on stealer and generally we recommend
our track safe anti slip stealer. Wait, we'll give it's
great stuff.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
It yeah, it's it's marvel. You know where it's kind
of slippery anyway, wonderful.

Speaker 8 (33:28):
Yeah. Yeah, and and really anywhere I mean any place
that you have any issues with slipping, slipping and falling,
you put this on. Your traction level is through the roof,
and so that's what we generally would suggest on spread
rock outdoors. So it will protect your finish, it will
keep it looking new. You're going to have anti slip,

(33:48):
you're going to have the beauty of stone. And it's
basically done the next day. So really you can start
your project on Saturday morning. Sunday afternoon, you're done, You
put your ceiler on, is complete. You didn't have to
spend ten thousand.

Speaker 6 (34:02):
Dollars, right, but you'll be you'll be.

Speaker 8 (34:05):
Shocked at what you've achieved and and how beautiful it's
going to look reardless.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Yeah, how's that sold, Peter? Is that a gallon can
or a five gallon pale or how's it sold?

Speaker 8 (34:17):
Well, it's since it's actually rock, it's it's it's heavy,
so we sell it in gallons and three gallon because literally,
you've got a bucket of rock there.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Yeah, it makes sense. So, yeah, what's the coverage on
a gallon of that?

Speaker 8 (34:38):
You're looking at sixty square feet per gallon per coat.
But the thing is, though, that when you're applying it,
if you have a lot of you know, deep pitting.
Let's say it's your garage floor and you've had salt
on that floor for for ten years and it's pitted

(34:59):
and rough, you don't want to use spread rock to
fill in that pitting. You want to use something cheap
like rock patch.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Right, That's why asked. Yeah, that rock patch is a
great product too. That's kind of like your spackling compound.

Speaker 8 (35:15):
Exactly, except it's pre mixed and it's tough and hard,
and it can even be a standalone finished if you
really wanted it, but I'm going off pop it. But
basically you filled in that pitting. So now when you
put spread rock on, you're going to get maximum coverage.
And you know, for a buck and change of foot
you've got something that looks amazing. And then you know

(35:38):
people are going to wonder, you know, did you have
that done professionally?

Speaker 1 (35:41):
No?

Speaker 8 (35:41):
I did it myself, and I did it on a
Saturday in the sunday, mostly with dry time in between.
It goes on very fast and it's a quick, easy
project and it's going to totally transform any surface any
area around your home or business, and it'll last for
a long long time. Just make sure that your pressure
wash that surface right right.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
It's always the key. That's always the key. Um, can
I hold John for about ten more minutes because I
still got a bunch of questions. It's absolutely all right.
And and some people are probably in a hurry. So
where would they buy that? Let's get that in there
and then we'll take a break.

Speaker 8 (36:18):
Uh, they would get that at home depot and low's okay.
So just go to those websites and when you go
to buy, there are charts there that show you exactly
what you need for your area for the amount of
square footage that you want to cover. You can't go wrong,
and just give us a call and we'll answer any

number one enemy to your home. And if you have
high humidity in your home, or a moisture problem or
musty odors, all of these are conditions that are ripe
for mold growth, which can lead to all sorts of problems.

Speaker 4 (39:05):
You need to change out the air in your home.
Instead of do you minifi, let me recommend the easy
Breathed ventilation system. Easy Breathe exchanges the air in your
home out six to ten times a day, making the
air cleaner and healthier.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
I have one. I love it.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Checking out for yourself.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
It's easybreed dot com.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
All right, back at it. Peter Dich is my guest.
He is with Dice Codings. We're talking about one of
his products, spread Rock, and absolutely a resurfacing for concrete
on the xterior. You could go like porches, steps, puol decks, patios, walkways, entrances,
garage floors, balconies, just about all those things. And Peter,

(39:56):
can you use the spread rock indoors?

Speaker 6 (40:00):
Oh, absolutely you can.

Speaker 8 (40:03):
And basically the way it would work is depending on
the surface that you are applying it on, you would
be using a different ceiler. So if you're doing it
in your garage, you would use our garage and drive
away seiler. So that is the product that has the
best resistance to any kind of automotive chemicals or you know,

(40:25):
salts or anything else that are going to fall down
from the bottom of your car in the winter, or
if you're doing any work in your garage. You know,
with any kinds of chemicals. You want that protection to
ensure that nothing ever gets stained and it just always
looks clean and.

Speaker 6 (40:41):
New and beautiful.

Speaker 8 (40:42):
So you would use that ceiler. But yeah, people also
do it in their basement. They've even done it on countertops.
I mean it basically spreads onto everything. It's a stone compound,
and it goes on beautifully simply. It's just like like
buttering toast.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
I was going to say, like, you know, like basement
floor is perfect, even like you know, the you know,
wherever your washing machine and your you know, your your
dryer is, whether it's you know, in the basement or
on the first floor in the laundry room, you you
could use the spread rock on that, I'm sure very easily.

Speaker 8 (41:25):
Yeah, it's uh and and it's it's an immediate finish,
And if you really want to get fancy, you can
even use our growth line stencil tape, and you can
even you know, do it in the tile patterns, so puffs.
We also have stencils that you can apply. So if
you want, uh, if you're doing it outdoors, for instance,
and you want it a flagstone or a or a

(41:47):
slate tile, look, we have stencils. You drop down on
top of the dry primer, you apply the spread rock
over top, peel off the stencil over the tape, and
then seal it. Now you have a patterned, very decorative looks.
So it's almost limitless what you can do.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
You can do it outdoors, and absolutely what kind of
colors you got.

Speaker 8 (42:11):
We have There are six colors. Our most popular ones
tend to be in the gray area. Okay, so we've got,
you know, a color called ice gray, which is a
beautiful color, extremely popular, flint gray. We also have a
beautiful color called brown stone Santa Fe which is sort

(42:32):
of a reddish nice stone product. Basically, any sort of
decor or exterior of your home, the surroundings that you
want the color to match with, we have a color
that will do the job well.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
It sounds like an answer to a lot of problems,
easy to apply, and people can go to dice coatings
dot com. I'm sure you got videos and all kinds
of good stuff there, and it's a category that's really growing. Peter,
and I know you and I've known each other for
a long time and you were really on the forefront
of this and you continue to add to your collection

(43:11):
of spread rock you've had for a while. So it's
got a good history and it gets the job done.
So congratulations on that it does.

Speaker 8 (43:20):
Yeah, thank you. And spread rock basically, yeah, it's been around,
but we've made it easier to apply, so it's it's
sort of the next generation of spread rock. So it
has all the durability and the longevity and the beauty
that it's always had, but now it's it's it's even easier.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Sure well, extreme cold resistance too, and after this winter
we need that zone. Thank you very much for joining me.
I certainly appreciate it is great talking to again, Peter.

Speaker 8 (43:52):
You got it, Gary tickcare, take care.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Bye bye. It's a dish d ai ch codings dot com.
It's available at home depot and lowsdop dot com, Loows
dot com. Again, it's called spread rock and it is,
as you can tell, an extremely versatile product and one
that can be applied for those trouble areas on concrete.

(44:15):
All right, a break is in order and then we'll
get to your calls. If you're on hold, sit tight.
You're at home with Garrisullivan.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Start a project and don't know how to finish it
and call Gary at one eight eight two three talk.
