Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, back at it we go thirty three minutes
after the top of the hour at Home with Gary Sullivan.
We had at least where I met some really nice
weather this past week, and I'm sure a lot of
people as as I did, working on just kind of
cleaning out the house and maybe a little spring cleaning,
maybe rescreening, glass cleaning. And I guess one of the
(00:25):
other things we all fight this time of year, especially,
we fight at year round, trust me, and that's odors.
And for years I've recommended a product called Odo Exit
and it's a wonderful, wonderful product, and they have a
multitude of wonderful products. And joining me now is the
owner of odor Exit and they're celebrating twenty five years
(00:47):
clean air. Deb Meyer. Welcome that Home with Gary Sullivan.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Good morning, Gary, thanks so much for having me, and yes,
twenty five years of clean air with odor Exit. It
has been a great line. Yes it is, Yes it is.
And you've been part of that ninety eight percent of
all that. So for all you've done, you're quite welcome.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
So family owned business and you've been in charge. And
how's that being on?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Well, pretty good? You know. My husband Marty was in
charge for a while and then he I think he
got tired and he goes, why don't we make you president?
Like it was a big gift, you know, Like, no,
it didn't turn out to be a gift at all.
It's been a lot of fun and I can't say
it hasn't been a gift. But but now he's vice
(01:36):
president and he gets to answer the phone and I
solve all the problems except the odor problems. He does that.
There you go, it's to get trade off.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, so let's talk a little bit about it. I know,
I've talked about it for years. I've used it for
years for all kinds of things, from when the kids
were at home. You know, they're backpacks and you know,
and they left lunches in there, and to just the
other day, I used the odor exit magic for a
little cabinet that has the garbage can in underneath the sink,
(02:09):
and you know, it had just a little tinge of
onion smell and took you know, taking the trash out,
but it kind of lingered and I hit it with
a little otor exit magic and men, it was gone
right away. But what what's in this? I mean, it's
not perfume, folks, it's actually getting rid of the odors.
(02:32):
And I believe the magic ingremient is essential oils versus enzymes.
Tell me about that whole arena if you will.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Okay, Well, we don't like to disclose within it because
we like to think it is just magic. But yes,
it truly is essential oils and water. It's a combination
of essential oils. It's not and you're not going to
end up smelling lilac fresh or orangey or any like
some of the others do. And this the eliminator, is
(03:05):
the exact same way. It is a different combination of
essential oil. So it's definitely two different products. The magic
is more for the air. I mean you can spray
it on things, but not kind of spray it at things,
I guess is a better description. You know, if your
dog has dog body odor and he lay it on
(03:26):
your couch, you spray it at the couch. It'll absorb
that body or coming off of air. Same thing with
your pet. You can put it on there for dog
body owner, or spray your hands and pet him her,
and it's going to absorb those gases coming off. So
it doesn't have to be directly on the source. But
(03:48):
the source is also going to come back because you're
not stopping dog body odor. He's going to continue. You're
going to continue to sweat. Like the sports you mentioned
the sports bags. That smell is going to come back.
So the magic's going to continue to work for a while,
but then it's going to absorb all it can and
(04:09):
you're gonna have to spray it again. But it's not
gonna leave a perfumey smell. It's just going to absorb
that odor and be like fresh air.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
And I had a lady. I gave her a sample
this week and she texted me, going, this stuff is great.
I gave it to her for she said she was
a smoker and hated to go in on sales calls
after smoking in the car. It just absorbed all that.
She just kind of spritzed her hair, her clothes, and
(04:40):
you know, I'm tell him you can quit smoking now
look at me like I'm some kind of crazy person,
and or you can smell like you quit and then
they're like, oh so what you got for that? And
that again is the magic. It just absorbs those odors.
So like hat box odors that gave coming off of
(05:00):
air people bathroom odors. It's great for like public bathrooms, restaurants,
that kind of thing where everybody uses it and it
just puts out this gas and you really don't want
to be the next one in.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
So I'll tell you I used it twice this week
now that you mentioned, because I used it, like I said,
in the trash can and it was kind of stinking
up the kitchen. And then one day this week we
went and got two little, small, little pizzas and I
ran and got him, put them in the car, got home,
and the next morning they had that It had that
(05:38):
lingering smell. I mean, pizza was delicious. The smell the
next morning in that car from where the pizzas were,
it wasn't. And I did the same thing, open the
door and sprayed it all over the upholstery and the air,
and went back in a couple hours and it was
it was gone. I mean, so it is. It's a
(06:00):
great product, and it doesn't, like I said, doesn't mask it.
It really literally eliminates that smell.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
And it'll do that actually in a couple of minutes.
So you know, depending on how soon you are going
to get back in your car, you just if you
put it in your face, it does have a smell,
but you don't want to obviously spray it in your face.
But then it goes away in just a couple of
minutes and absorbs that odor and yeah, you don't even
(06:29):
know you had pizza last night.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah. One of the magic words, a lot of people
uses the word enzymes, and is there enzymes in the
otor exit or you know, I was talking, we talked
about the essential oils. What's the difference between this or
is it in the otor exit? Also, there are.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
No enzymes in either of our products. Enzymes are more
of a chemical and they have a chemical smell to them,
and that's why you'll have a lilac or orange or
something flavor or flagrance added to them to cover up
that not pleasant chemical smell. And it comes in contact.
(07:18):
What it does, is it it just beats on that
odor until it produces all the odor is going to
So it could take you know, days for that smell
to go away with the enzymes, and if it didn't,
if you didn't put enough on there, it may take
a second treatment to continue beating on it to get
(07:39):
rid of that odor. The essential oils that we use
in the eliminator. It has to be on the source,
but it stops that chemical that that odor producing item
from making that odor right now, so it's gone within
(08:00):
a couple of minutes. Again, you've got to get the
stinky gas now out of the room because it you know,
it's been smelling for a day or a week or
a year. Right, your air smells bad. You get that
stinky air out of there, spray that source and it
stops it like right now, and then it goes away
and it will not come back.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, So those enzymes really they're kind of contributing to
your homes indoor pollution. And yes, you know because you
start putting fragrances and stuff like that. It's that's kind
of the unhealthy home syndrome many of us are experiencing.
So stay away from enzyme cleaners.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Yeah, we're looking at getting rid of the chemicals in
our lives. Those smells that they just cover up something else.
These actually get rid of that smell and stop it
from producing any more odor. And that's really what we want,
is that clean breathing, that clean air. You know, going
to have less coffee or less allergens in the air.
(09:06):
You're not putting the allergens in the air now and
just breathe easier in your own home.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Sure, So if you're with the enzymes, you're still adding
chemicals and you might have to do it a few
times to get rid of that smell. With the end
the eliminator and the essential oils. If you get it
on the source, it'll get rid of that smell. But
if you miss a spot, it will still smell. So
(09:34):
you've got to find everywhere and to do that. We
also have a black light that just any black light.
We sell them, but you know any black light will work,
the ones from the sixties where we lit up our
shirts and thought we were so cool. There's also light
up body fluids so you can see before you wash it.
(09:55):
You can see that fluorescent of urine vomit body fluids
and know exactly where to apply the eliminator to get
rid of those smells.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Where do people get older.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
To wash it. You kind of wash that portion of
the urine or whatever away and it's not going to
fluoresce anymore.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
So where do people where to apply it? Where do
they buy the product?
Speaker 2 (10:24):

You've heard me say it many times. Water is the
number one enemy to your home. And if you have
high humidity in your home, or a moisture problem or
musty odors, all of these are conditions that are ripe
for mold growth, which can lead to all sorts of problems.
You need to change out the air in your home.
Instead of doumnifier, let me recommend the easy Breathed ventilation system.
(13:51):
Easy Breathe exchanges the air in your home out six
to ten times a day, making the air cleaner and healthier.
I have one. I love it. Check it out for yourself.
It's easybreed dot com. During tax season.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
All right, Deb Myers, my guess she is the president
of Odor Exit. Theodor exit dot com. If you want
to check it out, you can purchase it right there.
And Deb, let's talk a little bit about some other
issues that cause odors in our hometown. Spring rains happened
today and then we start having mold issues and those
(14:24):
types of stuffy basements and things. You've got something that
addresses that also.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
We do gary. We call it aqm Air Quality Manager,
and MOM stands for mold, odor, mildew, smoke. These are
both the same, and these are chemicals, but they're very safe.
And I'm going to use the word gas here, and
it's really a safe gas as well. It puts a
(14:52):
gas in the air that will oxidize as a gas
with extra oxygen molecules the right quantity. It's safe to breathe.
It's healthy to breathe even and it will oxidize mold
spores in the air, like the dust particles. After the rains,
here comes the sun and you have that ray come
(15:14):
in and you see how those dust particles and that
beautiful ray of sunshine and you go, am I breathing
that this helps get rid of all that it will
oxidize as dust and stop the sneezing, give you less coughing,
make it easier to breathe than your own home. I
fit in my office at home some days a couple
(15:37):
of days in a row, and without the AQM and
moving around, my nose starts to run and I get crazy.
These things stop all that it helps just get rid
of at the source the start of all that. If
you have water leak in a basement, putting the AQM
(15:59):
down there to get rid of any spores that are
forming because that water didn't dry fast enough, some pump
back up. Any kind of water that stands for a
while is going to start making mold, or if it's
not visible, it's just that musty smell. And these packets
(16:19):
you put them behind a fan. That gas comes out
and that fan just swirls it around through the air.
If you had you're in the basement and you have
the choice, open joye. It's going to get up into
all those cracks and crevices where you're not seeing spores
but they're hiding. It's going to get to that. It's
going to oxidize them and they're not going to come back.
(16:44):
Can you get come back unless no, it's invisible. It's
very safe. You're probably not even going to breathe it
or smell it unless you get really close to the packet.
It's going to smell like swimming pool chlorine. So it's
kind of a good smell, I guess, but it will
(17:07):
get rid of all the stuff that we don't like.
It's also going to do that same thing if somebody
smoked in their house for ten or twenty years and
they've got they take a picture off the wall and
there's a big white spot behind that picture and the
rest of it's kind of yellow from the tar and
nicotine being in there. These packets will oxidize that tar
(17:28):
and nicotine and get rid of that smoke smell. Now,
you don't want to paint first. Painting is going to
seal that in. It's going to be harder. You're going
to need more packets to get through that paint to
the tar and nicotine to get rid of the smell.
So if you're if you're selling a home and you've
got cigarette smoke smells in there, use these packets first.
(17:52):
It's going to get rid of that. You can the
realtor dot com says, you can lose up to twenty
nine percent of your resale value. You on a house,
if it smells like smoke.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Should you grub the wall first at all?
Speaker 2 (18:06):
If you're seeing the white behind the picture, yes, yeah,
cry soidium phosphate and water clean off a lot of
that and then use the product. But don't paint first.
That's what you mentioned it too.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
You mentioned the AQM and you mentioned the MOMS. Which
one should we use for that?
Speaker 2 (18:28):
The MOMS is a liquid version of that same chlorine
dioxide chemical. Okay, it's gonna get rid of the smells
where you spray it. So if you've got musty smell
in your basement and you want to spray everywhere, then
use MOMS. But I've used it to if there's mold spores,
(18:51):
I've used it even on a leather coat was hanging
in the basement. There was musty smells and you could
see spores on that leather coat. I sprayed the leather coat.
It went away and never came back. So it's more
for doing a specific area than a whole basement. Absolutely,
(19:13):
it's gonna again get rid of that dust particles that
are making you sneeze and people go in and they
spray their blinds, their drapes, their furniture where maybe they've
had the house closed up, maybe at the lake during
the winter months, and they come in the beginning of
(19:34):
the season, they spray all that get put the packets
in there too, and it gets rid of that musty,
watery smell that and that's probably one time. You're going
to have to use it once a year because you
close it up so those winter months, normally it's going
to last. If you've got a musty basement today and
(19:54):
it's been that way for five years, use these packets.
It'll get rid of that, and that musty smell is
not gonna come back for another five or ten years.
I mean, it took that long to build that up.
It's going to take a lot longer for that wet
basement to accumulate that smell again. So it's kind of
a one time use. You may sell your house before
(20:17):
you need to use it again. And the other thing
with those AQM packets, if you do worry about a
mold test in your house air quality test before you
sell it, use these AQM packets first. That will get
rid of those spores in the air. Whatever's going to
test positive, and then your test is going to be negative,
(20:42):
your sale is going to go through because you pass
your mold test. I mean, we're not cheating anything here,
we're just being proactive and getting rid of that mold
before they do the testing.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
