Speaker 1 (00:01):
Glenn Beck breaking down the top stories and how it
impacts your life. Monday morning at nine on fifty five
krc D talk station.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I am Ron Wilson. He is Gary Sullivan. We are
broadcasting Lie today. It's the fifty five krc Home and
Garden Show at McKay lumber It is big advice on
the Union Cemetery Road. It's places off Montgomery Road, and
it is huge.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's a kid in the candy store when you got
all the decking out, the hardwood floors, the doors, the winds,
they get everything.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Well.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
You know, when you would if you drive by this thing,
you would just think it's a warehouse. You would think that.
And their offices up front. You haven't even seen the
lumberyard and no I haven't. Oh my gosh. Then you
walk through and then you walk in here and it's.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Like whoa, Yes, it's the largest indoor lumberyard in the
state of Ohio.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I'll take you back, I'll walk we'll get to that.
I hope it'll get lost. Have you heard of Ryan
or Shield? Mister Wilson, right, no, Shield, Have I or not? Yep? Okay,
thank you he did, he did great. Thank you very much. Hey,
we got Todd from Rhino Shield.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Who's gonna explain it's such a unique product that maybe
just kind of give us an overview of what rhino
shield is.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
And then I know Ron's question, Well, I'm glad you're
doing this because you hear the commercials all the time
and it's like, well, then what is rhino shield? You know,
you hear the song, we all know it, and you
sing it and I sing it all the time. We
get that two adult pops. He dances to it, wake
up in the morning singing Rhino Shield.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
So that's right. First of all, guys, thank you for
having us. What rhino shield is. It's an elastic Merrick.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I thought you made that word up.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
No, no, all right, Uh, it's an elastic America crylic
coating that we put ceramics in it. And what this
does It acts as a vapor barrier that we spray
on homes and it protects and beautifies all at the
same time and it just works out beautifully.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
No, Ron, it's not pain, not paint. It's not pain.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
It's not paint.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
It's rhino shield. Well that's what I'm saying. That's so
if it's not paint, then what is rhino shield then
I always seriously wanted to I could never figure out
what is rhino sheild.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, it's the last America resin material. It's it's a
coating system that goes on the building. It's a two
part system.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
So the buzzword is coating. It is. It's thick, right,
oh yeah, thicker than paint, right.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, eight to ten meals thick. It's usually ten times
thicker than regular paint. When we spread on it goes
on about ten mills. Once it cures and dries, it
should be at about eight mills.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
And we're talking on a sighting or anything.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh, usually it's you know, wood and brick, okay, hardiboards
and things of that nature. Hardyboard is a little bit
different beast in its own because of the pH levels
that it has when it gets shot out of the factory.
So a lot of times with hardyboard, it has a

(03:00):
tendency of fading over time when we put our coating
on there. We have a specific product for hardy board
that it balances out the pH level so we don't see.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
That stabilizes it absolutely, yeah, yeah, and it looks good.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
And since this thick it has an insulating value too.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I mean, yeah, we have our value of six point
eighty nine.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
So it's coding.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
It's a reflective RML.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
So that's how we can say honestly that it's a
vapor barrier going on the building where it's able to
breathe without any water penetrating our coating to get onto
your substrate.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
And obviously colors.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Fifteen hundred colors, and we can custom color anything that
you want. I know, David, our production manager, has a
heartburn when I say that we can custom color anything
you want.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
But but you can, but you can. Yeah, you know
you hate painting rods. This is right down. This is
a paint. This is not a so I would not
hate this. And it lasts. Ask him how long it lasts? Now?
How long does this last?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
We guarantee it for twenty five years against any kind
of peeling, cracking, or chipping, and our dealership added a
five year labor warranty on top of that national warranty.
And the thing is for us to be able to
warranty those that product everything. This has to be done
perfectly A through Z without any hiccups. Are there things

(04:28):
that could hiccup of course, and we just direct those
before we coat and to ensure that we're getting the
best results out of our coating.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
So when you come out to my home, it's a
brick home with the wood trim and all you're doing everything. Yes,
brick and the trim. If you want the brick gut,
I mean, if I want to change the color, and
I'd say, yeah, it's a red brick we're going to go.
Now that's kind of a nut right now. Gary's talking
about white and black is.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Back at that old farmhouse.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, you know, I've got my red brick house and
I want to go white and black.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yep. Absolutely. And the really good thing about our coating
how we spray it on. The thickness that we sprayed on,
you don't see that color that's underneath it, that bleeds through.
That changes the appearance of our color, which is very good.
Also with brick is brick has to be able to
breathe naturally a lot of times. With the curylic paints
that holds in moisture into that brick. You probably won't

(05:22):
see it in a five year period or anything like that,
but in a twenty five thirty year period you might
see significant mortar damage done to that home because of
the moisture retention. By putting rhino shield on it, it
keeps that moisture out from the inside and then it
keeps the driven rain from the outside end or out.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
As you actually and when you're talking about brick too,
of one of the things you see is you see
that efflorescence, that white, chalky film, and with the rhino
shield on it, we kind of take that out of play.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah, Gary, what that is is most acrylic paints have
clays and chalks to them. That's the imry makeup of it.
Regular paint has about eighty percent water and about twenty
percent solids, and most of those solids are acrylics and
clays and chalks. So once that acrylics starts to depiss

(06:14):
to go away, you're left with chalk. And that's what
you see the bleeding that's coming off a lot of
times when you see raw brick homes with painted trim,
you see that bleeding coming down onto the brick. Our
coating does not do that. Our coating is actually made
up of twenty percent water and eighty percent of solid materials,

(06:34):
and it is good materials. Sure that lasts. We don't
use clay. We don't use.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Chalk's why you can warn it for that.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
That's the reason why we can warrant you as long
as we do.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Now, Gary's getting a little older and his driving habits
are getting a little bit worse. Say what so he
comes over to my house and he mistakes the brake
pedal for the gas pedal. It hits the corner of
the house. All fixed. You can match that back up absolutely.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
And normally when we do that, we just do the
whole side. Just make sure everything dismatches perfectly.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
So yeah, you come back and yeah, back on and
we're good to go. Do you use a primer on that?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Absolutely? Primer in the the prep work is the key
ingredients of this whole thing. It's the it's a secret sofer.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
That before too. You stole that from them preparations a
key roun.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yeah, our primer what that does and it actually burns
into the pores of what we're counting. It becomes part
of the substrip. So once it's on there, it's on there.
Just make sure you're picking the right color.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Do you have to make a call when you're working
with wood if it's too old? Like you come out
and you say, as long as it's not wrong.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Okay, you know, we come, we do our first walk around.
What I'm doing is I'm looking for damage and rotten wood.
Now I'm not up on a ladder thirty feet in
the air, so I can't see everything. But I try
to do my due diligence to make sure that the
customer is aware of anything that could arise when the
crew gets there and start doing their job. And this
is sprayed on most of the time, it's spray on.

(08:00):
If we have to just roll it or brush it,
we will. If they're in a little delicate areas that
we can't use spread. Wow, pretty cool stuff. Huh, that's
very Coolhite. You know, seriously, I've heard these commercials for years. Yes,
I had no idea what Rhino shoe was. I never asked,
but I didn't know exactly what they were, you know
you guys were talking about.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
So yep, Now I know.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
We We've been into Cincinnati market now for two decades
and we just we just do great work. We just
do what we say we're going to do and the
time that we say we're going to do it in
and people appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
That's why we get the repeat. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Absolutely, we have a deck solutions for that.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
There you go, specific needs. How long does that last?

Speaker 1 (08:44):
We guarantee that for five years.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
There you go, Ron, there you go. I've been on him.
I've been on him for ten years. Hang under the spy,
Please do something with that deck.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
And the reason is you're walking on this surface, right,
so we can't guarantee it for as long as we
do with the rhino shield.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Well, yeah, I tell everybody about the deck things. You know,
people they build a deck to have fun, right, but
everybody works on their deck.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Time for fun? Is that for Ron?

Speaker 2 (09:12):
And he doesn't have fun or work?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yeah? Because you guys are here on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
That figured out a lot of homes in Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
The old aluminum siding chalking, the white aluminum sighting now
looks like gray aluminum sighting.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Can you can you rhino shield?

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Absolutely, Aluminum is a very good substrict to coat because
it's very probably it's actually a lot better than wood.
It's very poorous, so it gives us a lot of
anchor points for our primer to adhere to. And plus
you're gonna get away from that bleeding that chalkiness, even
rub up against the aluminum home and you got that
stuff all over your shirt.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
We find Yeah, I do staggering, so you must must
do it with your head. It's all there's a lot
of white up there. There's all white man people want
to get involved. I'm sure you start getting really busy
this time of year.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
We'll say that to probably everybody we talked to today.
How do they get a hold and get things wrong
with Reinershield?

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Well, then the number one thing you could do is
you can go online at rhinoshield ky dot com or
rhinoshield dot com and get a hold of us that
way or eight eight eight rhino forty one.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
That seems pretty easy. Huh sounds really easy.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
You got big list? Can I get it? I can't
get it done probably by Memorial Day? But can I
get it done by the fourth of July?

Speaker 1 (10:32):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (10:33):
My house?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Absolutely, Memorial Oh I'll push harder.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Normally they'd be good, good high school graduation party and
all that.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
We get that a lot. Hey we're going to a
graduation party. Can you get that done in two weeks?
And we're able to accommodate things like that. We're call now, yeah,
call now, call now, all right, give me that number again,
eight eight eight rhino forty one, very good, Thank you much. Right,
I no, Shield, I'll never paint your house again.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
See right, Oh, Shield, I followed up with you on that.
There you go. You know what the next problem is,
don't you? What's that?

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Ants?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Bugs, mites, bugs, bugs, ants, bugs, termites, mosquitoes. Yeah, we'll
talk about them. Who we got after the break. We
got the folks from one Stop Pest Control. Very good.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
And this is the fifty five KRC Homing Garden Show,
brought to you by McKay Blumber. And that's exactly where
we are, yeah, right here on fifty five KRC Detox.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah,
