Speaker 1 (00:32):

project or two around the home. Thanks for joining me.

(00:54):
your ultimate plumbing companion. You can access do it yourself videos,
frequently questions, exclusive offers, and you can also track your
service history, schedule appointments. The whole works where you say. Well,
you can get it the app store, Google Play or
at rotrouter dot com. A hindy little feature if you'd

(01:16):
like to get some of those projects done around your
home by yourself. So we thank them for sponsoring this
hour of that Home with Gary Sullivan. All right, our
phone number as we talk about home improvement projects, you
can join in. Danny Boyle, take your call. It's eight
hundred eight two three eight two five five. Grab a
line and Kenny, you lead us off this hour.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Okay, Gary, Well, that app sounds good because I tell
you I'm a believer in the Internet. And YouTube when
it comes to fix your stuff on the house.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Oh yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Look into that. Yeah, I'm gonna look into it, but
for plumbing, you know. But my deal is Okay, now,
I don't know. You may never have heard this yet,
but it happened to me. And raining so much. My
gutters on the garage are bowing out in the middle.
And I get up there, and long story short, I

(02:15):
see that. Uh well, first I said it. I looked
it up, you know, on YouTube, and they say, okay,
that he's hanging.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
He's hitting.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Hangers are in there. They had him, but mine were
the cheap ones. Okay. So there's either a five or
a six inch gutter size, right, well, so I go buy,
I go buy. I know it wasn't six inches, So
I putted this five inches and I buy these gutter guards,
take them back, don't fit. I got four inch gutters

(02:43):
on my garage. Oh wow, you ever you ever see
a four inch gutter?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Oh yeah, I can't even buy really.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
In fact, Kenny, interesting thing and we all know that
it seems like the storms we have now certainly produce
more rain. And I've got the same issue in my house.
My background was in the hardware business, and we used
to sell four inch gutters all the time. And this
is a while ago, don't get me wrong, and then

(03:11):
five inches pretty much the prime number now. But I
got a couple areas in my home I'm getting ready
to switch out to a six inch gutter.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You know something, I don't know why nobody would, I
guess for cost, you know, but right, yes, I'm kitching
to dive into it too, because at the size of
this ring coming down, this little four inch, it just
it overflows.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I got the same thing with my.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Five See, that's what I see. Man. I'll tell you what, well,
I may tackle this now gutters. I've looked it up
and there's some guys that do it by their self,
course their professional but it doesn't look that bad. It's
with a two man job.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Right, It's a two man job, that's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, but this guy did it. Here's the letter for
the other man to hold it up there while he
act it in and then you come back to the
other side. So it would be a job, especially for
an old man like me. But uh, anyway, Gary, I
just thought, well, I'm you know, hey, if anybody would
have saw for inch. Imagine it had been you. But
everybody I talked to say, man, what are you saying?

(04:15):
I said, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Uh huh uh huh, Well think about changing that up
and again, it's all about just having you know, a
decent slope on those gutters to get it to the
down spout, Snap your chalk line, get your bracket set,
and I think you'll be good. Kenny, Well, Garry, thanks
so much.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
And I listened to so Old Time and I figured
out going through this. You know, well, hey, you saw him,
so I was wrong.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Very good. Thanks, thank you much, take care, bye bye.
I think there were three inch too. I didn't want
to say that, but the old galvanized ones. I think
there were some three inch gutters out there. Eight hundred
and eight two three eight two five five. That is
our phone number. And I I'm not kidding about the
with on those gutters. Seriously, do you have that problem?

(05:04):
Are you experiencing the same thing. I mean, those gutters
are only depending on the slope of the roof and
they can only take so much water, right, And I'm
not the only one getting or Ui was talking about.
He's considered it. I've had a lot of people tell
me they're experiencing that problem, and uh, I see more

(05:29):
and more people going to a six inch gutter. And
you know, if you're not going to change out the gutters,
at least pay attention to what kind of shape it's in.
And what I mean by that is make sure that
they are tightly connected to the facie. A lot of
bad things happen when they're not tightly fast and water

(05:49):
can get behind the gutter. We can start having rotted wood,
Animals scratch through rotted wood, they get into your attic.
I'm not trying to be an alarmist. I'm just telling
you what I see. And you know, if they're not
tightly hung to the uh facia, those things are possible.

(06:10):
You know. The water just you know, doesn't quite get
in the gutter, all of it doesn't get in the
gutter behind that gutter that sofia probably isn't painted, and
you start getting wood rot. And again, if the gutters
are undersized and there's nothing, you know, clogging the gutters,
but they're still not holding all the water, that's as

(06:32):
bad as a clog gutter. It's spilling over right on
your foundation, all right, Paul, welcome.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Yeah, good morning from northern Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Sir, Yes, sir, how are you?

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Yeah, well, beside the smoke otherwise we're okay. There's a
lot of that. It's been bad up here. I mean
sometimes make your eyes burn.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Well, oh yeah, it's that bad. I'm right on the border. Okay, Hey, quick, class,
Maybe you've seen the ads on TV for quote unquote
roof Max that spray your roof shingles.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yes, you have a view on that.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
You know, Oh they're doing a big wine.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
But you know, yeah, yeah, no, I've actually I've talked
to their technical people on several occasions to learn a
little bit about it, and so I don't have a
personal experience with it. But my takeaway from what they
were telling me is it will do what it says,

(07:35):
but it's really not for everybody, but it is for
some people. So let me kind of go through the
way I interpret the product, okay, and real honest. In
the beginning, they said, you know, if you have a
thirty year roof, you're probably gonna get somewhere between twenty

(07:55):
two and twenty five years out of that roof. And
I agree with that. I agree with that if you
have a twenty five year roof, you might get twenty
twenty one years out of that roof. So when you
have a roof with a warranty, rarely is it. I mean,
you could have it, don't give me. It depends how
the facing is, where the what the climate is, and

(08:19):
you know all that other good stuff installation and everything else,
but usually don't get the full warranty of the roof.
So let's just use the phrase twenty five years. Okay.
Let's say Paul here's got a twenty five year roof
and you're you're eighteen, and you're starting to think about it, right,
you can see where there's some maybe some warn spots

(08:40):
in the roof, and you're thinking about a new roof,
and so you call roof Max because I don't want
to spend ten thousand dollars for a new roof. I'd
like to do something to just kind of get me
to at least that twenty five year. That's what roof
Max does. So what they do is the granular protection

(09:01):
on a shingle. That's what protects the shingle from the
sun in the ultraviolet rays. That's what does the most
damage to a roof. It makes it brittle, it leaves
it unprotected to the sun, and it really begins to
age rapidly at that point. And when so roof Max

(09:23):
comes out, they inspect the roof, they go, yeah, you're
gonna probably need a roof in three or four years.
You're losing a lot of the granular protection on a shingle.
We got this product, roof Max. We can spray your
whole roof with a clear has a little bit of
a satinychine, but not noticeably, not where it'd be a distraction.

(09:46):
And this spray is is like a sealer for shingles,
So it seals the existing granular protection on that roof.
It seals that in for five years. That's that's the
life's span of that spray. You can respray it up

(10:09):
to I think three times, so you're you're basically gluing
down the protection all right, so it doesn't keep losing
its granular protection. You get five years. It's probably twenty
five thirty percent of a new roof. And so you know,

(10:30):
if you're going to stay in the house for a
few years, yeah, it might be well worth to do it.
If you're going to be there for a while, you
must just go replace the roof. That that's my opinion.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah, most commonly up here, it's become more common to
go to.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
A well, it's my dream. It's my dream. They're awesome.
They are so.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Uh yeah, and up here with yeah, we got a
lot of snow in the winter and twenty and thirty
below right, all that, and so far, the shingle roofs
been doing well. It's at the twenty five year point.
And I go up there and at least once a
year and have a little walk about, you know, right,
well vented and everything else. It's a modular, uber insulated

(11:17):
and all that business. You know, our fifty attic you know.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Yeah, well, and'll be honest with you, the quality of
shingled roofing has improved dramatically. I mean it really is.
I mean there's some shingled roofs that will give you
a fifty year warranty and I've seen a couple of
them with a wind rating up to one hundred and
thirty if I'm not mistaken. So, you know, the metal

(11:41):
roofs are gorgeous though, oh my gosh, I love the
metal roofs. But yeah, so we we have options and
everything in life, right, And that's another one that's crept
up in the last few years. And I think I
can honestly say, you know, I think there's a place
for it, but I don't think it's everybody.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Okay, appreciate your time, all right.

Speaker 1 (12:05):

(15:10):
at eight hundred eight two three eight two five five
about your home projects. You know, we talk a lot
about wildlife that gets into your attic. So I have
a question for you. All right, So I was just
talking about gutters being fastened properly, and you know, if
they're not, or maybe where the facia board is micor cut,

(15:36):
maybe there's some shrinkage in the facia board itself and
there's a space between the two boards. Uh, not good
calking resolves that. And I'm always talking about kind of
really pay attention to the soffoted area. That's where animals

(15:57):
get in the attic also the ridge vents score. So
I was just perusing some social media during the break
and I've heard about these particular products. It's a rodent
detector or deterrent, if you will. It's called a Johnny five.

(16:20):
Are you familiar with these? So we're always talking about
when it comes to wildlife or insects, I'm always talking
or birds even we're talking about you gotta change the environment.
Well what what a what a Johnny five does is
it changes the environment. It can be a cat deterrent

(16:43):
or you know, scaring away raccoons and squirrels. So when
that sensor's tripped, there's a noise that comes out that
deters animals. So my question to you, because I'll start
with you and then I'll do a little research on it,
but do you have one of those? You know someone

(17:04):
that does have one of those? How do you feel
about those? Does it work? Your inputs appreciated eight hundred
eight two three eight two five to five. So it
makes uh ultrasonic noises which deter animals away. Even can
be used in a garden area. So I'd like to

(17:24):
know your answer to that Michelle. Welcome.

Speaker 6 (17:29):
Hello, because I've been listening to your show this morning
and I hear that you're talking about roofs. Well, it's
ironic because I am in the need of a new roof. Okay,
my scenario is I want a metal roof. Obviously they're expensive. However,

(17:49):
at the same time, I have been recently told by
a company that metal roofs are not as good for
you as shingles. Now I'm old that's no better. However,
at the same time, I have a question. Is there
as much a negative to metal roofs as two shingles.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
No. In fact, when a fellow mentioned a metal roof,
I think you probably heard me say, oh, that'd be
my dream. I think metal roofs offer a lot more
than shingles. I don't know. Maybe did a shingle man
tell you that?

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Okay, so a metal roof. Here's the advantage. Here's the advantage.
I'm also going to give you a website with a
lot of good information. Okay, all right, So metal roofs.
They absolutely have a warranty rating of fifty years, They
have a wind rating of above one hundred and fifty.

(18:48):
They can look like a shingled roof if you want.
It can be blue metal, it can be green metal,
or it can look just like a regular shingled roof.
It's more fire resistant, it's energy saving because the coating
on that has a radiant barrier built into that metal roof.
So you go to a website called metal roofing dot

(19:12):
com and it'll talk about the advantages over a shingle roof.
There's nothing wrong with a shingle roof. In fact, as
I said to the person, shingled roofs also have come
a long way. But that metal roof will be the
last roof you buy. And again, you know everything isn't
for everybody. But if you're going to be in your

(19:33):
home for a while and you never want to put
on another roof, and you want it to be a
beautiful roof that's going to last the whole time you're there,
that's what you want to do. You're at home with
Gary Sullivan.

line Dale.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Welcome, Hi, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
You're welcome.

Speaker 7 (23:16):
What I've got going on is my wife and I
bought an acreage out in the country and there's some
older outbuildings that aren't being used anymore that are semi
following down and stuff. One of them looks to be
an old chicken coop, by the way, it's got the
windows southern exposure, you know. But I want to take

(23:38):
the siding off of that old lap siding and put
it on one of the walls in the house, in
the living room, to make an accent wall. Can I
just try this stuff off of the shed and put
it on or should I treat it for bugs or something?

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:56):
I was just going to say, And then how you
harvest that too? Again, I don't know how stable that
building is. Sometimes you start pulling sidings off it, it
becomes even less stable, and you want to make sure
that you know it's going to support itself if you
take down the siding. So that's just a.

Speaker 7 (24:14):
Side note the old building.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Yeah, so that's a side note as you your concern
is relevant the dale. You know, when we have the
wood outside, we really don't know. There's different boring beetles
that can get in, There's different insects that can get
in there. I guess in all fairness, there could even

(24:38):
be termites that are in there. I I you know,
I would definitely have that wood treated or at least
even put it in a large bag to see and
tie it up and see if there's anything in there.

(24:59):
You know, Oh, they'll try to escape for sure, So
that's an option also because I don't really have a
suggestion on what you would treat that with. Probably some
sort of like a parrethin or something like that, but
I'm not positive on that. But the concern is is real.

(25:20):
You should definitely either have it checked out or investigate
a little further what you can spray on that, because
it's got to be compatible with bringing it indoors too.
You don't want to spray something on there that off
gases and you know, then your home's tight and then
you start having some issues on the inside of your
home too. So maybe even talking to a pest control

(25:43):
company and get their take on what can be applied
at all. But yeah, so I think that's how I
would approach that. But yeah, yeah, you just don't take
it off and put it inside.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Yeah, okay, thank you for the help.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
All right now, thank you, thanks for call. I appreciate again.
We got a spot for you. It's eight hundred eight
two three eight two five to five and you can
join us. Another thing, too, is I don't know about
the sighting. I mean there's all kinds I was kind
of visualizing, like old barn sighting. It's not painted, it's
it's weathered, and you know, that's all good, but you know,

(26:20):
the insecture that's be an issue. The other issue is
that probably should have even asked this question. The other
issue is an older structure that's in the process of
decay or collapsing. We want to make sure that the
wood still has integrity, okay. In other words, it's not
some rot in different parts of the wood. And another

(26:44):
thing is if it is painted or was painted, and
you know it still has some pain on there? What
kind of pain is on there? So inspection for pest
is one issue. Inspection on coatings because you don't want
to be dragging that wood in there. Let's say there

(27:05):
is no bugs or anything, but there is. And you've
seen the wood where it's about fifty percent pain fifty percent.
It's a good look, right, But if it's a lead
based paint, you don't want to be dragging that inside
a home and soling it and nailing it up and
putting it on a wall, and uh, that deterioration will

(27:27):
continue and can have lead paint dust that you'd be
bringing into your home. So you'd want to be cautious
there also. So just just a couple of little things
to consider again our numbers eight hundred eight two three
eighty two five five. Going back to the humidity and

(27:47):
we were talking about the attic with the mold and
the insulation with mold, we're kind of really focusing on
a lot of humidity and water issues that you may
have around the home. The walls, the in maybe in
the cross space or if you have a basement, they

(28:07):
allow a lot of water vapor to pass through that.
Even the concrete floor in a basement or in a
slab home allows a lot of water vapor to pass through.
That can also be, you know, contributing to the higher
humidity level h inside your home. And we were talking

(28:28):
to the one lady and she was talking about I
even use dry lock on the walls.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
You know.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
I like the whole thought of the dry lock products,
and I've talked about them a lot over the years.
I'm less excited about using maybe a coating that stops water.
I'm talking about water penetration. Water vapor is a little

(29:01):
different ballgame. Remember earlier in the show, I talked about water,
we'll find its path of least resistance. So I say
this a lot. If you take a waterproof paint that
can hold back ten pounds per square inch of water
and you put this coating on, it's wonderful. Right, Oh,

(29:24):
we stop the water. Everything's good. The thing you gotta
ask yourself is the why why do we have this
much water pressure? Why do we have this much water?
What can we do to control that water rather than
just sealing it? And there's a breaking point on the ceiler,
and then the big question is where's that water go?

(29:47):
If you take away the water vapor. That's one thing.
Trying to put your finger in the dike, that's another thing.
But if you're fighting not really a wet, leaky basement,
but you're fighting a damp basement. I'm always talking about
controlling that environment in your home, trying to keep things

(30:13):
in range. You don't want it too wet, you don't
want it too dry. It really even affects your utility
bills if it's too moist. And I'm talking to run
in humidity sixty five seventy percent in the summertime, you
probably keep pulling that air conditioner, the thermostad down maybe

(30:35):
down to seventy seventy two, Whereas if you have your
humidity in control, maybe you can set it at seventy six.
I mean, there's that much of a difference. So if
you're battling controlling humidity inside your home, you got an
air conditioner going. I mean, there's a lot of issues here.

(30:56):
There's a lot of variables. We've talked even about the
fan on your air handler, how you have that, should
have that on auto, and not just on on, but
also ceiling up the walls and ceiling up the floor

(31:19):
and minimizing or almost virtually eliminating water vapor, maybe not
just running water, but water vapor if we get if
we cut the vapor out, I mean it's a tremendous
amount of water vapor. I mean it's gallons that comes
through your basement walls and your basement floors every day,

(31:40):
every day. So if you're struggling, that might be something
to to help. And they make a you know, a
white and clear for for walls, and they make it
clear for floors, and they just entered who said, probably

(32:00):
about five six, seven years ago now, but that's been
very helpful. So cutting down the water vapor, and you know,
the other vapor that enters our homes is rad on,
and that also cuts down on the rad on. Filling
cracks in the floor, that's a pathway for water vapor

(32:21):
and rad on. It's not like you're you know, you're
gonna have any more erosion if you don't repair the
crack inside a basement. But there's other things to repair
that crack for. And you can get a little bottle
of crack seal, which will go from eighth inch cracks
up to probably a you know, quarter inch five sixteenth cracks.

(32:43):
It just gets poured in it's self, levels and dries.
It's a latex based crack sealer. It's not your thing,
but a couple of reasons why you would want to
do that. All right, you got the phone number and dew.
We're going to take a ray, we'll come back. You'll
lead us off. If you'd like to join us, do so.

was the name of that that product all the sonic
the ultrasonic sounder to detect wildlife around your home, raccoons, squirrels,
Do you have one to have used one? Has it

(36:14):
been successful? Like tavior and put on that dale welcome, Yes,
good morning.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
We aren't considering a bathroom remodel. And there's lots and
lots of people on TV advertising and a couple of
them are even on TV or using OSB when they
put up walls. I question that in the bathroom situation.

(36:43):
You know, I was always talked green board, but down
if that's tile.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Later, well, there's there's even better than green boy. I
mean you can use cemnboard too, right, there's yeah, and
there's a there's another whole system that's used. I don't
know about OSB. I do have you had them out
of the house and talk to them about that, and
that's what they said, or where do you see that?

Speaker 3 (37:08):
You can see it when they're building one on TV
in the head they're showing OSB.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
You better catch yet.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
And I have no idea which one, but there's one
about every ten minutes.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Yeah, I don't think i'd be a fan of that.
I don't think i'd be a fan of green board either.
A buddy of mine used to tell me all the
way that the green board is the only thing that
keeps the not the only thing, he is one of
the things that always keeps plumbers in business.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Okay, Yeah, I questioned the LSB, and if they're doing
it on TV, they're pretty confidence. So yeah, I'm on
a little info before I had them in here.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Yeah. Yeah, I would be really interested in how they
treat that or do they treat that? That does stick
my nose in that too, That's a that's an that's interesting.
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Yeah, and it seems to be it's a very very
competitive market.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Well it is. I mean, i'll give you that dale
there must be five or six or more national franchises
that are just just blaring away from an advertising standpoint.
You know, from Bathfitter to Rebath was a new one

(38:21):
north Shore to you know, there is a lot of them.
So the other question is do you need any reconfiguration
in your bathroom or are you just going to do
the walls.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
I'd like to yeh, yeah, I'll tell you one.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
If you're going to do some reconfiguration and stuff like that,
I'd really take a look at maybe even a contractor
where they're just not doing overlays and stuff. I know
one of the local sponsors I have on my show
is a three day kitchen in Bath and they do

(39:01):
you know, especially if you don't redesigning and stuff like that.
You know, they do all the design work and then
basically the way it works is, you know, you decide
everything you want and they pre order everything. Now start
to work until everything's in stock, and they move you
out of your house for three days and they get
it done.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
It seems like something to look into for sure.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Yeah. Yeah, the these those ones that I see advertised,
there's a place for them too. I say this a
lot because there is there's a lot of choices and
there's a place for everything. But I'm gonna say twenty
years ago I did some commercials for look, who was
it bathfitter, But what they were selling at that point

(39:48):
was pretty much overlays for tubs, which was awesome, it
really was. And now they're into uh, you know, doing
the walls, doing the ceiling. It's gotten and it's probably
it's fine for a lot of a lot of people,
but that may not be the look somebody wants. And
if you want it reconfigured and laid out, that's kind

(40:10):
of the wrong. That'd be kind of the wrong company
to be dealing with if you're looking to redo the
looks and having more choices rather than just panels. I
hope I said.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
That right, Yes, if I understand.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Yeah, well I hope that helps down.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Yeah. I didn't like the OSB and I just wanted
an opinion on that.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, I don't really carefully.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Yeah, it sounds like an industry is like the mattress
and tires. It's just a big market.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
It is, and it's you know, there's a lot of
older Stockholms and you know in our area, and you know,
you get into some of those homes with plaster and laugh.
You don't really want to be tearing that out either.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Correct, I understand? Yeah, okay, thank you for your input.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
All right, my friend, thank you, take care of bye bye.
All right, let me give you the phone number. We
got a spot for you. It's kind of a slow day,
not too busy a day. Eight hundred eight two three
eight two five five. You can go ahead and grab
a line. As we were talking also molds, mildews and things,

(41:27):
and we were talking bathrooms and then we're you know,
we talked a little calking. There is different cakings that
and paints that are quote mold resistant. Uh microban. You
may have heard of that. I guess, uh what would

(41:48):
you call that? Not it's not really a product. It's
a part of a product. Microband uh dat quick seal
for bathroom contains micro band. It's a mildew mold resistant calking.
It can resist it on the surface. That helps there
if the leaks behind the water or behind the panels

(42:10):
and let's say there's wood there and it's rotted and
there's mold all over it, it's going to grow through
and around the calking. That's microband. There's also Zenzer primer
mold resistant primer one two three it's called, and that's
a good primer, especially if you struggle with ventilation in bathrooms,

(42:38):
or you got a bunch of teenage daughters that love hot,
steamy showers, maybe the one two three mold resistant primer
would be absolutely perfect for that. Or if you've got
some in your family that when they do shower, they're
a little careless. I get yelled at this apparently a
few times every day now in the shower, Uh, keep

(43:00):
that fan on. I know I preached the turn of
the fan on, and I myself, we'll turn the fan
off ear length sometime and someone tells me I did that.
So remember that fan goes while you're showering, and probably
fifteen minutes to thirty minutes after the shower. And if
you can't see that steam moving out through the fan,

(43:24):
and a lot of times you can't, that fan's gone.
But it really isn't deumidifying that room. It's because it
doesn't have enough supplemental air to replace the air it's
sucking out. You gotta have that balance, mother nature make
sure that stays in balance. So cracking the door a
little bit, maybe even at the bottom of the door,

(43:46):
taking it off and creating a little larger gap at
the bottom of the door. Not as big of an
issue as it used to be when we had bedrooms carpeted,
and that carpet would almost work like a door sweep.
Now we got wood floors and ceramic and usually those
doors there is enough gap. But if you notice that
where there isn't enough gap, make sure you just crack

(44:06):
the door a little bit and get that steam out
of there. That'll also help with mold and mildew inside
showers and bathrooms. All right, music's playing. We've got a
whole nother hour to take your call, so join us.
It's eight hundred and eighty two three eight two five five.
Kurt and Tom you'll be next. We'll continue. You're at

(44:26):
home with Garry Sullivan.

Speaker 5 (45:05):
Take said right with a call to Gary Sullivan at
one eight hundred eight two three talk. This is at
