Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, back at it.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
We go ten minutes before the top and they are
in ten minutes till they close this weekend show. Don't
forget every hour that we've done this weekend admit from
the Gotta Brush interview yesterday to each hour's different interviews today.
Those are all available to you on the iHeart app
at the at Home with Garry Solvent podcast. A lot
(00:24):
of good information today and I appreciate you listening. If
you miss parts of it, I hope you circle back
and get the podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Well.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
At the beginning of the show, we opened up with
my friend Adam from Dumont Global who is our host,
and we got to the end of it.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
We did that. What a great day it was.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
It was a fun day, a great day for me,
great day for all these other manufacturers were able to
come and talk about their products. Great that Jason from
Do It Best was able to come in kind of
you a little background on and on their new direction
with the true value in their our own stories. So yeah,
it's it's it's fantastic, what a great day.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I mentioned my engineer if he learned anything, and he
said yes, and he starts telling me he's got this
nineteen seventeen home and he's just bought some of the product. Well,
and he and I was a little nervous. I said,
you gotta get a task hit. Yes, And he said, well,
I think it's only got one coat of paint on
her hard work.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Yeah, I'm not sure if it's only one. If it's
that old, there's more than one code.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Well, no, somebody met Alray beat him too, That's true,
very true, very true.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Then you know that story I had with a few
months ago. We had a young lady w about one
hundred and ten year old farmhouse.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
We all thought it was going to be peel away,
It's going to be lead based paint down there, and
it ended up to be water based paint, and so
he didn't need to use the peel Away, used Advance and.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
You got this smart strip, okay.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
And I told him if he wants to go run
and get a test kit real quick, that might be
worth your while.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
I know a guy that can help you. Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
So, a lot of good information always comes out of
these shows, the reasons I love to go to them,
And thank you very much for having us out. It
was a great time spending uh some time with some
of these folks, some I knew, somebody had just met.
And uh, that's kind of what all these shows are
really really about. We'll keep talking about DuMond Global and
(02:18):
all the you know, the different paint strippers have been Again,
I want to just caution people if you have bought
environmentally quote safe paint stripper and it didn't work, I
don't care what brand it is. Most brands just have
one eyeem correct, you got the wrong one, right, right, right, right,
it's not gonna work.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
And you know, I like to say with the water
based products that we have, right, so much more safer,
so much easier to clean, easier to maintain, right, and
you got to get the right one.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
That's why. That's the way we see tests.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
To get that test and uh and let put that
paper on there and let that bad boy cook.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, sure, that's sure.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
He said six hundred thousand square foot.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
At the show.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Yes, and he said he's kind of out growing it.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
They really are.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
There was I don't know if there was sixty thousand
square foot when I first came to this.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Well we're sitting I think in the original part of
the convention.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
It is And that was it that was it. Yeah,
you can tell by the lights, right.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Oh okay, all right, yeah, I get it, I get it.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
So what are you hearing from people stopping in?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Just a great show.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
You know, it's nice being able to talk to the
true value, the new true value people coming through. Sure,
they have a lot of questions to do it best members.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
It's great.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
I come here to sell, but really I come here
to teach. Well, and that's my tal you self. I
was told a long time ago, when I was a
very young man, that if you teach people, the sales
will always take care of them. That is so true,
and it gives them the confidence to sell my product.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Right.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
So when a consumer comes into the store and the
person on the floor has the confidence in the products
they're selling, it makes her much better relationship for us
in the store, in the store and the end user.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, well some of the do it best stores too.
I mean they got some big, big stores. Yes, they
do huge stores and lumber yards. I mean, this isn't
people always you know they it's the Mom Paul local
hardware store. Well, they're the owner of this market that
we've been to. Hey, they are the owners who knows
(04:26):
local better than the local, right right, exactly, so we
keep finding out. Yeah, and they know their market, they
know their customer. They may have competition in the way
you know the big box guys, but you know they
succeed because they are who they are.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Right right.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
You know another thing before we leave, when we're talking
about the strippers, when you get into older homes and
let's say peel away test is the one that's saying
there's lead there. I always use the phrase, Adam, you
can get rid of it chemically or mechanically, right, but
(05:03):
you can't right one.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
It's got lead in there.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
And I don't think we I know, we talk about
we legislate form, but I still don't think people really
take it as serious as they do.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
When they hear asbestos.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
But lead can do major damage to a human, and
especially our young youngerman's right right right.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
And you know any organic paint that's older, the asbesos,
you know, lead based paints, things like that, they're not healthy,
especially if you're in an area that that's really old.
The paint's chipping or coming off. It's pretty dangerous.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, all right, we'll leave it at d Thank you
again for having us here.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
You certainly appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Danny Beck in studio, thank you for a great job today,
mister Chris.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
You're an engineer extraordinary. And with that, good Lord William.
We'll be back next weekend for more. At Home with

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Start a project and don't know how to finish it.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Call Gary at one eight hundred and eight two three talk.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
You're at home with Gary Solid
