Speaker 1 (00:00):
Station just Shiba, a fifty year fifty five Krcity talk
station and enjoying the little Christmas tidbits. Just Strekker's putting
in for bumper music, of course, has been declared from
day one on the fifty five Carssey Morning Show, and
I took over the vince Garldi trio Charlie Brown Christmas Album,
the only officially sanctioned Christmas music for the morning Show.

(00:21):
Joe Strekker agrees with me on that, No, you're not
going to hear the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Welcome back, mister
humanitarian himself. I've been referring to you, but a man
who truly knows the joy of helping those who are
truly in need and reaping the benefits of spreading in
his mind God's mission. Charitable organization, the Help Squad. We've
had Brian Ebold on many times before, and he's got

(00:43):
an opportunity for us all to get together and help
those in need on the West Side. The Help Squad,
since he with the y dot com, is where you
find Brian Ibold and the ability to help out. Brian,
Welcome back to the program, my friend. It's always good
talking with you.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Well, good morning, my brother.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
It's been a minute, it's been a little while, but
you know, happy to bring you back on hopefully generate
some interest in helping you doing what you're doing. Over
on the West Side, you've got a Toys for Tots
campaign going on right now. What's that one all about?
What can we do?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yes, sir, So we have a toy drive tomorrow at Bucketheads.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's the Shocking bucket Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Well that's ah, it's quite the staple on the West Side,
it is, so yeah, So we're having a toy drive
at Bucketheads five pm to nine pm. They were located
at sixty five oh seven Harrison Avenue, right in the
heart of Green Township, my favorite place as well. And
we're gonna have brent Souter there the picture for the Reds.
He's come, gonna sign some autograph, take some pictures. You know.

(01:43):
He's a funny guy too, and he does impressions. He
does a little bit of stand up. So I'm looking
forward to seeing him and then kind of challenging him
to see who's funnier me or him.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Joe chimed in. He's a bowler guy.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yes, he's a local dude. Yeah, No, we're real excited
to have him. I think he with the Rockies in
the past, the Brewers, and now the Reds. He's been
in he's been in the game for a while.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Real cool dude, well apparently real cool. He's always he
helping you out with the charity and the toy to
toys for top Drive. Now, are there items specifically or
is this bring in a random I presume unopened, brand
new toy. You're not looking for secondhanders or anything, are
you now?

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Just to unwrap brand new toy?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
And we have so many different age groups and boys, girls.
We can take clothes, gift cards, I mean, you name it.
The Just like every other nonprofit I can say is
that we have a lot of need and we don't
have a lot of volunteers, so anything anybody can do,
I mean, even if you can't make it. I mean
they're accepting toys now, they'll accept them afterwards. You can

(02:44):
always go to our website. If you don't want to
bring a toy, you can always donate money and we'll get.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
The toys ourselves. But there's just a lot of kids.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
In the area and the community that need our help.
They're gonna wake up and have nothing. Just put it
that way. Yeah, we've got a lot of work to do,
and I feel like the way that the world's on
my shoulders, we've got to get this done.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Well, I share, and you know it's having grown up
on the West Side, I really truly appreciate your focus
on the West Side. I mean, there are a lot
of charitable organizations out there, there are a lot of
services that are available that not quite often reaching the
folks that need on the west Side. So you're serving
west Side neighborhood shivvy at Coleraine Dell High Green Township region,
so you have to have a finite region. You have

(03:21):
very limited resources. But it's just sort of a sad
realization to know that, you know, folks on you know,
my quote unquote west side are struggling, but there are
quite a few. Do you have any recent sort of
heartwarming stories about what you were able to accomplish to
your efforts at the help Squad. I know you're always
helping folks each and every day.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Oh boy, how much time we got.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Well just I can tell you that just yesterday, I
personally now I'm the president of the place and I'm
running around like a check on my head, cut off
write and checks, trying to you know, put out fires
with people in people's lives all over town.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Just yesterday there was four people, three of which we
prevented from being homeless. They're going to be evicted. We
paid their rent.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
That's that was just yesterday. And there was two people
that we brought food to food cards because they're starving
to death. So we stay busy and one hundred percent
of every donation goes directly to help people. I'm not
getting paid, None of us are getting paid. We sacrifice
a lot and we we're just here to give.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
So anybody anything that anybody can do.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Blieve me, we're more than willing to accept the cratuity
because we need a lot of help on our side
as well.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
All right, So Buckethead's a place to be. Sixty five
h seven Harrison Avenue Again. What time in which day?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Again? So it's tomorrow Bucketheads from five pm to nine pm.
Like I said, man, you can bring a toy. You
can bring their put it now, bring on now and
put out front of the door.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
But it can be you can you can anytime, just
show up anytime. We'll take toys.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Come on right, admit it. You got a cot back there.
You spend most of your time that bucketthead. You'll open
the door, grab the toy, lock it back up and
go back to sleep.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I do whatever it takes.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Whatever it takes, man, five to nine pm tomorrow at Buckethead.
You'll enjoy Bucketheads. I went there with my dad when
he was still living, took him out for lunch one day.
That's a cool place. And uh, donate, you can donate.
Make it really easy if you can't make it over
to Bucketheads. The help Squad Sinsey with a y dot com.
There's a little button right there. It says donate, but
then also a volunteer. It sounds to me like if
there are folks over there on the west side that

(05:23):
want to help you out on your mission, that you
could use some additional volunteers.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Brian, Yeah, I will say this that people are starting
to come to life over here.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
We are starting I mean people, we are getting recognized.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I mean we've won. I couldn't tell you how many
awards we've won. I don't know what else is going
to take for people to realize this is working. And
you know you had mentioned were rolling on the west side.
I wish we could do all of since I I
wish we could do the do you know what I mean.
So there's a challenge to the mayor.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Call me.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
I'll give my number, call me. We can fix this.
It's not it's not as difficult as people or tried.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
The politicians and whatnot try to make it sound so anyway,
that's for another.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Well, you're you're on a it's your Christian mission of faith.
I mean, I know you're inspired by your Christian faith,
but it's just it's a it's inspired by love and
a desire to help folks truly in need. And I
know you're very good about you know, not just randomly
handing out money to folks, but if somebody is truly
in need, you get them the resources they need in
a variety of different ways. So help them out the

(06:22):
help squadsensey dot com. I can encourage my listeners enough
to give you the help that you're looking for, Brian Ibel,
And I want to think, uh, every you on behalf
of everyone, not only that you help from from everybody
in my listening audience. For serving as an inspiration to
engage in this charitable work. It's really a beautiful thing
you're doing there, Brian.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Well, I really appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Thanks so much for having me on at you and
Joe for always getting us on there and kind of
getting our getting the word out and our mission out
to the masses.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Well, make it bigger and better next year, Brian. I've
old be happy to help you out throughout the year.
You know, I love the organization what you're doing. Have

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
