Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Trevor Nation all over the place. No On fifty tour.
I've never had so many people out so early. That's
because I think it's because you're here a sinnleman, Carl DeMaio,
You've got quite a crew out here as well. Well.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
I am thrilled to be here in Fresno, and I'm
coming back next Saturday, so we'll we'll get talking to that.
If people can't make it out today, they can come
to our rally, our No On Prop fifty rally and
our California Voter ID signature drive Saturday at three o'clock
at the Transportation Center in Clovis. It's on our website
Voter ID Initiative dot com. But let me just tell you, Trevor,
(00:36):
there's energy out there Californians who are fed up with
the mess that's been created in our state.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
We don't want to flee.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
We know that this state can be better, and they've
just been waiting for a battle plan. They've been waiting
for something to get organized to take back our state.
And that's something is I Believefonia vote ID because the
only way to take back to California is to get
fair elections, and that means we have to clean up
(01:05):
the voter rolls, ensure that only citizens are registered to vote,
and verify the identity of people when they vote.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
This should not be hard. Third world countries are able
to count.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Their votes by midnight the day they have their election,
but California takes thirty plus days and dead people and
dogs even are getting ballots and voting an elections.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
So we've got a lot of work to do, but
we can do it.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
That's why we need a million signatures on the California
Voter ID initiative. Put it on the ballot, and when
it gets on the ballot, it's got overwhelming support.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
So we need people to come down here.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
To this event the sports box, Grill Press Press Press,
press box, sports There you go.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I knew it had Yeah, is not forgotten.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's pretty common that polling workers would say, yeah, sure,
I'd like to see your ID.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Then the politicians passed.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
A law saying that it's illegal for someone to ask
you for your ID. So now if you walk into
a polling center and there's very few polling centers left
because they want to force everyone into mail ballots. But
now when you go into a polling center and you
show the idea, they scold you, what are you.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Doing with that? Put that away? What is that? This
is so illegal? You can't be doing that here? And
so this is insane. Again.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Third world countries do elections better than the state of California.
Sadam Hussein is literally rolling in his grave. He realizes
now he didn't need to shoot his opponents. He just
needed to adopt the California election process, because it's that unfair,
it is that complicated, it's that riddled with lack of integrity.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
And I think the number one example, if you and
I were an attorney in a court of law approving it, we'd.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Say it takes them a month to count the election.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah, I mean that right.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
There is just the stinky one in the pile.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
And election results change over that month. And nothing is
more corrosive to public trust and confidence than to go
to bed on election night seeing numbers and saying, oh,
it looks like so and so is going to be
my next congressman, or my next assembly member, or m
my next mayor, and then suddenly hearing four weeks later,
the day before swearing in, like, oh nope, we found
(03:13):
a box of ballots in the back trunk. Oh goodness,
we got to oh and she won by fifteen votes.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
That's what you're seeing.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
You're seeing thousand vote leads literally evaporate over the course
of three or four weeks into you know, fifty vote
or sixty vote wins. That's what happened to John Dwarte
in the Central Valley from Adam Gray snatching that congressional seat.
John was leading by thousands of votes on election night,
(03:40):
and then Adam Gray snuck past thirty days later by
a couple hundred votes.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think it was like six years ago. Mister Teshera
was already back for his congressional like newbie classes, orientation, orientation,
and the election brought in back and sent somebody else.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah, yeah, and again.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
That is corrosive to public trust and confidence. The Voter
ID initiative is polling at sixty eight percent on voter
ID and seventy nine percent for citizenship verification and making
sure we audit the voter rules. This is going to
pass by seventy five percent if we get it.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
On the ballot.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
The only challenge is getting it on the ballot, which
is why we need a million signatures. And I'm talking
to you yes, you driving down the road thinking, oh, no,
one needs my help today. We need you to come
right now to press Box Sports. If you need the address,
go to voteridevents dot org and then use your little
(04:35):
map finder on your cell phone to come right here,
right now, press Box Sports in Clovis. Come down here,
sign the ballot measure, the voter ID petition, and also
pick up a kit to take home to your friends
and family tonight and in the coming days to collect
more signatures.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Right there herd It and Fowler next to all these
that kit simone mundmile. What's going to be in that
something where that they can take out to their church,
the corner, or the laundry mat wherever it Yes.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
In each kit, we will give you not only multiple
copies of the petition so you can get a bunch
of signatures from friends and family.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
We give you an envelope to return your petition.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
We give you instructions on how to make sure that
your petition is filled out properly. We also give you
no on Prop fifty palm cards to share with friends
and family so that as they're voting in this election,
the special election that's going on, they can vote No
on Prop fifty and they can they can learn about it.
And finally, in that kit we give you the updates
(05:35):
on our upcoming events here in central Valley. I'm going
to come to Bakersfield by Salia, Merced, Clovis. We're gonna
be in Modesto six or seven times here on Saturday, Bakersfield,
Clovis and Merced. That's what I'm doing this Saturday with
a big bus wrapped for No on Prop fifty and
(05:58):
yes on California voter ide.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I want to see you at that event. Bring your
friends again.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
All this information online at voter id events dot org.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Transit Center, Third Street and Clovis at three o'clock on Saturday,
three o'clock on Saturday. Simile Mondmayo. Many might not know
you're You're a brand new assembly member. Many know you
that are politically involved with the Reform California. Former talk
show hosts for our iHeart talk station co Go and
San Diego. And I had somebody just walked up here
(06:28):
a few minutes from where you kicked off, said they're
still watching.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
You on your your YouTube show. Your show. You're doing everything? Yeah,
and how many a week is it?
Speaker 1 (06:36):
I do it every day five o'clock, can't get it
out of his get it out of his blood.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
But I've known you for years and you I have
done a couple of these signature rallies.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I remember one year Trevor and I. We were in
a parking lot of.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah. So Trevor and I set up and we're doing
our broadcast. I'm doing mine for Southern California, Trevor his
show for for Fresno. And you know, someone said, oh,
we don't like you, you know, doing politics.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
In the parking lot.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
We just to repeal the gas t repeal the gas
taxt So literally, Trevor and.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I were walking with our mobile, walking through the parking
lot finding a new location, still broadcasting. By the way,
marvelous job on air. You didn't miss a beat. But
I think you You know, we care about our audience
and they rely on us every day to get updated
(07:24):
and the relationship that we build. The relationship you have
with your audience, Trevor, the relationship I have in Southern
California with my audience is precious. We appreciate you so much, uh,
and we don't want to let you down. And so
when I step down, I had to because when you
run for office. You can't have free air time, and
you know the rules for the FCC is you can't
have free air time unless you're Disney and have Democrat
(07:46):
hosts of their shows. Then you can have as much
damn airtime as you want and break all the rules.
But I was told I had to take a sabbatical
from from the show, and I said, okay, I'll continue
the show on on on digital and iHeartRadio app, which
we're still available on the iHeart Radio app.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Download it.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
You can get all iHeart shows, including Trevor's show, on
the iHeart Radio app and listen live anytime anywhere. And
so I've kept the show going and it's it's blossomed
across the state. And so this is such an honor every.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Day to hold the Let me ask you, what's a
difference doing video than sitting in a radio studio.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
You know what the theater of the mine and so.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
So you know what the difference is is when you're
on radio, you're given three hours and it's it's listening live,
so you and you have commercial breaks.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, because we love.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Our sponsors and our supporters, because otherwise we wouldn't be
able to do the wonderful work that we're doing. In
which again, even if you've already signed the ballot measure,
please come down to press Box Sports and buy a beer,
buy pizza again, whatever you can to support them because
they're hosting us today.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
But our advertisers, we do our commercials.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
So every hour of content is actually of the air
show is actually.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
For me, was twenty eight minutes of content.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
And so every day I do about twenty minutes of
YouTube direct a camera, one take, one take, because we're
you know, Trevor and I are live.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Stand the edit people where it's like they edited like
and then I went to pitch my edit and now
it's so unnatural it's unnerving.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
So I don't do the edit.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I have a staff member who just posts it and
just you know, cleans it up just a little bit.
But I do one take because when we're live on air, Driver,
like you've done for.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
How many years here, I've been a decade now a decade.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
You do it. It's one take. There's no in live radio,
there's no like, oh, let's do another take.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
You do it, and you do it, and you do it,
and you get good at doing live. So I do
a live take straight to camera and we post it
every day at five o'clock.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
It's it's called Reform California with Carl Demio.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
It's available in iHeartRadio app as well as YouTube.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
The video version is on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
What I have done because I know a lot of
people do listen to the audio and when I play it,
when I play a video, I don't say watch this.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
I still say listen to this.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Yeah, yeah, his habit. Yeah, you're in the habit.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
But also you know that some people are still doing
just the audio, and so you have to do both.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
And I love I love the show, and well here
it's the best of both the worlds around the radio
and you can come see us live like all these
great folks, so many your Reform California volunteers are out
here and speaking live. I'm ready to vote live, all right,
I have my ballot right here.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Well, everyone needs to know there's a special election going
on and by now you should have received a ballot.
If you have not received your ballot by now, there's
a problem and you need to contact the Fresno Registrar
Voters or if you live outside of Fresno, the county
Registrar voters.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
You live in.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
But you need to get your ballot and there's only
one question on the ballot and it is something called
Proposition fifty. And let me just warn you, Gavin Newsom
and the politicians have come up with another stinker of.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
A ballot title. They're lying to you.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
It is absolutely manipulative. They say that they are going
to do a temporary map for congressional districts. What they
don't tell you is that when politicians get the power
with Prop fifty, they will never give it back. There's
no such thing as temporary. It's like a temporary tax.
But more importantly, they don't tell you who put the
(11:16):
map together. You notice it doesn't say map developed by politicians,
well as simply Woman Mesito asked them and they said,
sit down, young lady.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yeah, I mean she could do the maps. Sit out, Yeah,
who drew the maps?
Speaker 2 (11:28):
So in their ballot argument, they keep playing up that
the Citizens Redistricting Commission is still going to be around
and that's that's our policy.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
It is a lie. They are lying to you on
the ballot. It's not temporary.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
The Citizens Redistricting Commission has nothing to do with the
maps that they're trying to cram through. The politicians did
it in the back of a smoke filled room for
their own benefit, not for the benefit of the communities
of Central Vallet.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
It's like Hitler saying, We're going to rebuild the Right
Stag and get their government of the people going again. No,
they're not going to do that, all right, I'm ready
to but I'm ready to vote.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
I guess that would be a no.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I don't want to save democracy, and no, I don't
want to save the country from Trump.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Is that so?
Speaker 4 (12:08):
They are right?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
I have to I have to.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
I have to laugh at the hole. But hold on,
you need to inspect my ballot. Are there holes in it?
Like in Sacramento my envelope there Do you see any
Fresnel County holes in there like Sacramento.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Ye. So some of you may have heard of a
controversy that's coming out of one of the counties. Because
all the counties have different ballots because all the counties
administer their elections separately. Each county doesn't, so they each
print different envelopes different ballots. Sacramento County when they did
their envelope in their ballot put little holes in it.
They say for blind people to process the ballot. And
(12:45):
funny little thing is that if you vote no on
Prop fifty, your no vote is seen through the ballot
because exactly where your ballot hole is is where the
no vote would go, So they know which ballots are
no's in which ones are yes. Is. This is absolutely
screaming for a federal criminal investigation. Someone needs to go
(13:09):
to jail over this. This isn't just basic negligence and mismanagement.
This is corruption and they're sitting there trying to downplay it.
Here in Fresno, though I see no holes. So you
can slip that ballot in that envelope, sign it, date it,
and return it now.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Do not wait till election day to vote. Conservatives. Also,
I'm not voting by mail.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
I don't trust the postal service and I don't trust
drop boxes. And I'm gonna buy golly, I'm gonna go,
and I'm gonna wait tell election day. You're putting your
ballot at risk, high risk of being discarded, because you're
not allowed at that point if they if they reject
your signature to go get another ballot.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
You need to vote the first week of the election
and then track your ballot to make sure it's received.
And counted at the website track my ballot dot org.
Track my ballot dot org. So mail it today or
drop it in a drop box today. But no, you're
not trusting the postal service or the dropbox because what.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Are you doing.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
You're voting and then verifying it. It's called vote and verify.
You vote by mail and drop box the first week
of the election, then you verify the second week. If
it's not received by the end of the second week.
If you voted in the first week, you gave them
enough time. You go get your second ballot, Trevor, do
you know that understate law every voter is entitled in
California to two ballots in every election? Did you know
(14:31):
that under state law you're entitled to two bollots. If
you're dead or a Democrat, you get four ballots, but
you get two ballots. And I will explain are we
going to break? Yeah, I will explain why you get
two ballots in every election and why it's your insurance
policy coming up?
Speaker 1 (14:46):
All right, and at Prop fifty passes, Clovis is gonna
split into three congressional districts. We got Clovid City council
Member Drew Bessinger here will get his take on it
as well. Some press box sports grill. We're right there
the northwest corner of hernd It and Fowler, next to
all these. It's a tremor nation all over the place.
No on fifty tour. It could be hotter, but it
(15:08):
could also be about tender gree schooler.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
But it's this is.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Great for Central Valley. He really very happy about this.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You're right, there have been some October's. I remember out
at the fair was one hundred and five. Ye as well, Well,
why are you in town?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Man?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
What's going on? Tell everybody They just might have turned
on the radio, just hanging out.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
Not a whole lot going on going on.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
We have a two front war going on, That's what's
going on. We've got our entire democracy and that's not exaggerating.
California's democracy is on the chopping block. And that is
because first, we have a broken election system where dead
people and dogs are voting, and where public trust and
(15:49):
confidence is in an all time low. Because we have
the most insane lack of internal control election system in
this state, and we need to do something it. So
we've decided months ago to launch a campaign October first,
to get a million signatures to put the California Voter
i D Initiative on the ballot. It's a state constitutional
amendment that requires not only California Voter ID but citizenship
(16:13):
verification when people register to vote, audits of every county's
voter roles every two years. And it really will improve
the internal controls to verify that only legitimate voters are
casting ballots. So that's the good news, is that we
can fix a problem. But unbeknownst to us, in the
(16:34):
middle of that effort, along comes Gavin Newsom with a
corrupt redistricting scheme. What's redistricting. It's where the lines of
the districts have to be adjusted every ten years. But
Newsom says, I don't like lines drawn by the citizens
reflecting communities. I want lines that benefit politicians, protect politicians.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
Given advantage in this instance to Democrats.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
And if that means you cut across lines of communities
and rip them apart and dilute the voice of voters,
like here in Clovis, which is now, as you just
heard in the previous segment, cut into three separate districts.
If that happens, it doesn't matter the people's voice doesn't matter.
What matters is the ambition of politicians and the protection
(17:20):
of politicians.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
So Prop fifty hold on, there's wait, he's fighting Texas
because Texas is just as evil as Newsome.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Right, let me tell you why that is absolutely a lie.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
First, I don't agree that any politicians should be drawing maps.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Okay, stupp in and tell what happened in Texas.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Exactly what happened in Texas is the politicians drew a map.
The Democrats said, well, as part of our deal, we
want to do this, that and the other thing. For
whatever reason, the Democrat the Republicans went along with it
back in twenty twenty. But then Biden said, I don't
like it. It should be better than what we got.
So he sued, and in court the judge said, wait
(18:00):
a minute. Not only are you wrong, Joe Biden, but
what the map was that they adopted. It's also wrong.
It's illegal, and you have to now redraw your map.
So Texas is under a court order to redraw maps.
Let me just be very clear, though, whether Texas is
under a court order or not, I don't think any
politicians should ever be been manipulating the lines of a district.
(18:20):
It should be done by citizens. And that's where we
come back to California. In California, we actually have one
thing that we did right in twenty ten. We took
the power out of the hands of the politicians and
we gave it to the citizens, an independent citizens redistricting Commission.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
But now the politicians are using Texas as the window dressing.
They're using people's distrust or hatred.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Of Donald Trump as the vehicle to get that which
they've always.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Wanted, and that is the power back.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
And Newsom says, well, yeah, we want the redistricting Commission back.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Gavin Newsom opposed.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
The Redistricting Commission in twenty ten was created. We're always
against it. And now they've come up with this ruse
Prop fifty to get the power back from the people.
So we're urging a no vote on Prop fifty. If
you have more questions, if you want to learn more
and share the information, go to defendfairelections dot org. That
is the no on Prop fifty website, defendfairelections dot org.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
And it affects us in California. But also we can
help say some people across America with his presidential aspirations,
because if he can get thumped by his own people
in his own state, that's gonna be hard to get
out there and campaign on with all the negative news
of California. And as you might, I've lived all over America,
so I've met a lot of different people and stay
in touch with them, and every time I talk to them,
(19:41):
they have a story that they've.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Heard about the crazy state that I live in, and
they and they say, why are you still out there?
And I say, I'm a missionary behind enemy lines. That's
how I feel.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I call us the resistance. We're the freedom fighters behind
enemy lines. And I tell people across the country, don't
just look at us like you're dry and buy a
car accident on the road and gawking.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Don't just talk at us. Help us, send us some money,
send us some you know, robodial.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
We need to get a message to the White House
as well, because I hear the President talking, oh those
crazy California every once in a while, they need to
pause and go, hey, we thank you people that didn't
go to Texas and Florida and flee, thank you for
fighting it out there in this state and staying out there. Yeah, well,
I mean, we're giving ourselves our own credit.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Right. President trumpet supports the voter ID initiative, and I'm
grateful for that. But also when you look at the polling,
fifty six percent of Democrats support voter ID, a majority
of Blacks support voter ID, seventy two percent of Latino's
support voter ID, and so we've got broad based support.
(20:47):
We need to get this on the ballot. That's why
we need to come down to press Box Sports here
in Clovis and sign the ballot measure press Box Sports
you can get the address online at voter id events
dot org. We not only are collecting signatures for a
voter ID, we're collecting ballots for No. On Prop fifty
And if you would get a team out here, we
(21:08):
will give you a petition kit to take home and
get more signatures for Califoyia voter ID. Now, before the break,
I teased that if you wait till election day to vote,
you're putting your vote at the greatest risk of not
being counted. Conservatives are all about waiting until election day,
and you need to stop that because it's playing into
(21:28):
the hands of the opposition side.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
The reason why you need to vote early.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Is that it allows you enough time to actually verify
your vote as counted, so you can actually use the
postal service this week. You can do a drop box
this week. Here's why you're not just trusting them blindly.
You're going to use the postal service or do a
drop box, and then for the next seven days you're
going to verify they got your ballot and counted it
(21:55):
at the registrar voters by going to track my ballot
dot org. That's the website track my ballot dot org.
When you go there, you can put your information in
and verify your ballots counted. If your ballot is not
counted by October twenty fifth, circle that date in your
day planner, October twenty fifth. Then my recommendation as you go,
if you vote this week, if it's not counted by
(22:15):
October twenty fifth, go to the Fresno voting centers any
of them, walk in and say I voted the first
week of octoberot my ballot was not counted. I tracked it,
it's not counted. I want a second ballot. Under state law,
you're entitled to two ballots, your original ballot and something
called the provisional ballot. And they cannot deny you that ballot.
(22:37):
They must give it to you and you can fill
in another no vote for Prop fifty No on Prop fifty.
You hand it to them and they then put that
in the provisional box, which means that they have to
verify that your original ballot was indeed lost, and if
they can't find it, they then buy law. They have
to count the second ballot. So that's the way to
verify that your vote is counted.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
I'm picking up what you're throwing down here. It is
basically I know you might feel it. It's your tradition.
You open your Christmas presents on Christmas, not Christmas Eve.
You know people that vote on election day. Let's get
it in early and let's flood it. I just filled
in my know and I will get that in quickly.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
But here's the risk.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
If you wait till election day and you walk into
that polling center and turning your mail in ballot, you
can't verify it.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
It's over. Yeah, you know. I can't wait seven days
and verify it and get a second bat.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
I don't have to tell you this, but I learned
just I think in the last election that I was like,
I waited, waited and waited till and I voted on
election day, and I kept getting the text messages from
everybody I was going to vote for.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
But it costs them.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Oh yes, thank you for bringing that up.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
If you really support the candidates that you support, then
help them save money by voting, because if you vote today,
you will be taken off the campaign lists for robodials,
door knocks, mailers, text messages. Woul, don't you love the
peace of mind, just the peace and quiet of voting
today and all that garbage no longer crams up your mailbox?
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Yeah, all right, that's why we brought it up.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
And we are here Pressbox Sports Grill, northwest corner of
Herndon and Fowler. Out here till six o'clock. Come by
sign the voter ID petition again. You'll see it right
there in northwest corner Herndon and Fowler. There's people on
the street, big red tents, a bunch of signs out here.
You can get your packet kit from Reform California that
can show you how to get more. We got an
(24:29):
event coming up Saturday here voices against Prop fifty seven.
I had the dat Larry County on this week and
also had Stephen Quick. He lost his son and it's
all going through the courts right now and he's going
to join us next. It's the Trevor nation all over
the place. No fifty to fighting it my next guest.
Good to see you again so quickly, Stephen Quick. Good
(24:51):
to see you man.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
Oh good, good to see you too. Thanks for having
me again. I'll just walking by and drop my billot
off and give you a bracelet that we had for
Caylee Caleb three sixteen, so we were giving those out
to all of our families, so.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
You know, you handed it to me.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Hang on what I'm gonna set the mic down and
keep talking and it's on my wrist and now thank
you for forgiving me that. For those that don't know
the story, just brief because there's new people to the story.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
Oh yeah, well you want me to tell it, Yeah, yeah,
go ahead, And.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
You've probably told it so many times to some was
murdered at McDonald's and clothes back in the spring, and
it was two juveniles that were accused and are in
jail right now, and it's going through the courts and
they're trying to decide whether to try them as kids
or grown ups, and most of us, mister Quick, feel
like it's a grown up crime, you get a grown
up punishment. Prop fifty seven you pick it up there.
Speaker 6 (25:44):
Yeah, So Prop fifty seven has made it very difficult
for district attorneys to try kids as adults that do
this stuff. That was in twenty sixteen. They told us
it was going to be a nonviolent offender's crime bill.
And we've got lots of members where there's been murders happening,
and these kids are murdering and they're being sheltered, i'd say,
(26:07):
in the juvenile justicism.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
So.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
They're they're not being transferred to the criminal adult court system.
So they're getting out four to seven years after committing murder,
sometimes very horrendous, heinous murders. Since then, I've explained there's
about fifteen families that have grouped together throughout the valley
(26:32):
and some of their stories are very heartbreaking and gruesome,
and and there's and there's people are getting four to
seven years, and also available to them is to earn
reduction in that time so they can get out even
three years.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I texted with you and told you that d A
Tim Ward from down in Tillarry County was on and
you said you happen to be listening, and he talked
about down there. I think it's one of the families
that you were involved with. Was it wasn't the woman
that you brought in last time. Was that wasn't her
family where they just let that guy that years ago
and now when Prop fifty seven kicked in, he was
(27:09):
an older guy already serving a life sentence and they
let him out.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Yeah, I heard, I heard that that family's not with U.
So I'm actively pursuing them to add into our little
coalition of grieving families. But the person I brought last
time with Samantha and her son was Kencinetta. He was
thirteen years old stabbed by a fifteen year old out
of kin Sinetta and you know, lost his life. Actually,
(27:37):
there was two people stabbed, one one survived you and
her son didn't. But they were just sentenced I think
a month ago, and the max they got available to
him was eight years. But again he's available to reduce
time if he's behaving in the juvenile system. And also
the juvenile I just learned this last night. The juvenile
(27:58):
system is a civil court. So these aren't even getting
these aren't even not even charge with felonies. These are
civil matters, so there's no strikes to them. So when
they get out there have a clean plate.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Nothing happened.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Wow, Well listen, he's uh for those of you that
went how'd you just go through that so fast? His
story and I didn talk about some Well, we've had
some in death conversations about the loss of your son
and what your family's gone through. And again, congratulations on
the upcoming nuptials. That was a good thing to be
able to announce right there. But they've had hard time.
(28:32):
And RFK Junior at the Charlie Kurt thing. You know,
the Kennedy family lost a lot of people to a bullet.
He said, like his grandma told him, you just got
to fill that hole. The hole never goes away. He's
just got to fill the hole up in the and
the way Steven's doing it, he's saying, your voice matters.
If Prop fifty seven's impacted you or your loved ones,
come out and you can share your story.
