Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Trevor Carey Show. Sad day, don't feel
like playing any music. It's on Power Talk ninety six
seven AM, fourteen hundred AM, thirteen sixty Modesto in the
iHeartRadio app. I'll start off this hour reading the release
from the White House. The great and even legendary Charlie
Kirk is dead. No one understood or had the heart
of the youth in the United States of America better
(00:22):
than Charlie. He was loved and admire by all, especially me,
and now he's no longer with us Alanium. My sympathies
go out to his beautiful wife, Erica and family.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Charlie. We love you.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
President Donald J. Trump, truly great patriot. The President said
he's ordering all American flags who out the United States
lowered to half mass until Sunday evening at six pm.
We had a couple hours there where we did not
know Charlie Kirk cleaning the live critical condition reports came
(00:55):
out somebody saying they heard you know, and then it
was basically confirmed by a message I guess at President
Trump sent out. I was listening to Hannity and my
car eating my lns for about a half hour taking
a break. We'd all been following it, getting all the
audio ready, and it just here's how I heard it.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
You know, I'm not I'm sorry. What are you saying
in my ear? I texted Trump's statement, President Trump's statement.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Uh, I don't know if I want to read this. Um,
I'm looking at it, Okay. John Solomon was right from
President Trump, the great, even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead.
(01:46):
No one understood or had the part of the youth
in the US better than Charlie. He was loved and
admired by all, especially me, and now he's no longer
with us, and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife,
Erica and his family. Probly we love you. I never
(02:09):
thought John Solomon was wrong. I was hoping upon hope
rod Arquet.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, you're right, John. I'm just seeing it as well,
posting up on on Fox News a saving from the President.
Saint Charlie Kirk is dead, and I think we're all
in a state of shock.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
He was assassinated at thirty one years old this morning,
answering a question out on the campuses like he does,
question about rampant left wing violence in America, when he
was shot. You can hear the crack of the rifle.
Righteous anger is understood. Number One, pray for his family.
(02:50):
I don't care if the Left thinks it's appropriate or not.
I hope this is not true. This was just handed
to me from townhall dot com. Please tell me this
is be This would be unbelievable. Congresswoman Lauren Bobert requested
a moment of prayer for Charlie Kirk. Kirk and you
can hear some Democrats shouting now And according to town
(03:13):
hall dot Com, Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna shouted back, y'all
caused this. He kind of summed up how I felt
today listening to this after it was announced. I heard
Hannity there, he had he had Buck Sexton on. He
had uh former Congressman Jason Chaffits on. He's from Utah.
(03:34):
He was there. He was there at the event with
his family. Chafits was buck Sexton said, we wake up
in a different country tomorrow. It's kind of some how
high I have felt. Fox went directly to Jason Chaffits
probably thirty minutes after it happened. Here's what he said
(03:56):
at the event, that.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Well, there's you know it's a good crowd.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
A lot of feople were channing his name. I was there,
My daughter was there, son in law is there, my
wife was there. I mean, Charlie Kirk coming to town.
It's we were excited and people were there and there
were lots of them, and you know, he he came out,
(04:20):
he was throwing hats, riling up the crowd. He took
his first question, which was I have to catch my
breath trying to run into.
Speaker 7 (04:29):
The house here.
Speaker 8 (04:33):
You know.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
He took a first question, which was a religious question,
and then he got to the second question, which was
about thirty minutes into his presentation two thirty local time,
and and the question was about transgender shooters mass killings
versus people that weren't transgender. And when that happened, when
(04:57):
that question came out, and he's and you know he's
going to have the interaction one shot. I was watching Charlie.
I can't say that I saw blood. I can't say
that I saw him get hit, but I did see
him fall immediately backwards into his left well.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Chafits hadn't seen the video obviously yet, because you could
see the blood. I saw it. Now, I'll just say
what killed Charlie Kirk. The violence and murder and the
rhetoric coming from one side that is just undeniable. You
would not be anybody that wanted to speak the truth
on this day if you did not state that the
(05:39):
shooter is an FBI custody. There's a video I just
saw about ten minutes ago. It showed a dark figure
on the roof. Look like it would have been uh,
maybe okay if Charlie Kirk is right in the middle
of the clock maybe one or two o'clock there angle,
because that's he saw how the bullet entered and came
(06:02):
out with the blood on the left side entering on
the right side.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Coincidence.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
What Chafits it saying, answering a question about the trans shooting,
I don't know. Well, I say, we'll know, but we
don't even know what happened in Butler. I think we're
gonna know this. Here was Chafits talking about how he
was just texting with Charlie Kirk before.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Well, I traded text messages with him. I traded text
message with him with ahead of time, and I said, Hey, Charlie,
I hope they get a chance to see you. Our
family liked to see you again, and and.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
We still want to see him again.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
So he he said he's going to go for a
few hours, and you know, maybe we could see him afterwards.
But gosh, it's just he's there doing the right thing,
you know, And and it's so great to see all
these twenty year olds enthusiastic about politics in the world
(07:06):
and to have an open dialogue.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
All right, we're just hearing now the EPPII director Castertel say,
and that person the shooter has now been released. So
I guess manhunt underway. Person of interest has now been released.
This is the second one. They drug a man from
the event, I mean like hog tied him up, like
(07:28):
carrying him out when people were yelling obscenities at him,
and he was an innocent man. Now the authorities are
releasing the subject from custody, so looks like the assassins. Still,
this is just this horrible chaf It said that he
was up on the second level and his whole family
was there.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
And all look, I'm guessing there are two thousand people
there or so and ready to have a dialogue and
listen to Charlie and you know, take one, come one,
come all to ask answer questions I, you know, in
the let's see forty five minutes or so that you know,
since it's happened, not even that long thirty minutes since
(08:09):
it's happened. You know, the question was what about transgender shooters?
Speaker 7 (08:15):
Mass shootings?
Speaker 6 (08:18):
But as soon as the shot rang out, everybody hit
the deck and then everybody started scattering and yelling and
screaming as you might imagine. And you know, I went
from watching Charlie Kirk to looking over to you know,
make sure our daughter and our son in law were okay,
(08:38):
and everybody just was in disbelief and just scattered. You know,
it's a It's at Utah Valley University. There's forty thousand students,
the state, state largest, state's largest university. So there's what's
called the quad in the middle, and anybody can come
in and out.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
We need to clean up this country before it gets worse.
We need to take the trash out. Whoever did this.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
And I'll say it again, and I'll say it again
tomorrow again.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
The police hunt for the political assassin. When they catch him,
they need a water board him until he cries like
a baby, until he's spilling his guts. And when we
get the information we need, then we execute him. Some
moron on MSNBC said said something like the shooter who
shot he said it was a supporter who shot their
(09:34):
gun off in celebration. They said that during right when
it was happening. I don't think it's possible to hate
the mainstream media as much as as they hate us.
Listen to this awful, awful reaction. I think, didn't you say?
MSNBC is now retracted and apologized for what I'm about
(09:54):
to play you here.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Listen to this. This is just beyond.
Speaker 9 (09:58):
Which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that's
the environment we're in that people just you can't stop
with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then
saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to
take place.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
And that's the unfortunate environment we're in, Matt.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
She was about to cut him off. There, hateful words
create hateful actions. Are you kidding me? He's saying, Charlie
Kirk and his hateful words create these hateful actions. I
controlling anger, like I think, is the right thing to do,
the thing that God would want us to do. And yes,
(10:38):
we pray number one thing, Well, what happens at the
end of a prayer, you say Amen. Then God doesn't
always send down an army from heaven to answer the prayers,
does he. He changes our hearts and our minds and
our souls to do what we need to do. And
today they went right for the jugular. Literally, when I
(11:02):
realized in my non medical mind view what I was
seeing with that blood spewing out the side of Charlie
Kirk's neck, I was like, man even needs some kind
of massive blood infusion. Within just a few minutes from
what came out there, it was that raw footage. It
was blood loss immediately. And yes, there are policies that
(11:24):
had the bloods on their hands. Who implement policies democrats
do that allow criminals. And you know what, it's not
just Charlie Kirk. There's seven Charlie Kirk's a weekend in
Chicago that have a bullet entered their body and they
go six feet under the ground. Seven Charlie Kirk's a weekend,
and that's a mile weekend in Chicago. Those two kids
praying at Mass in Minnesota, they had hot lead entered
(11:48):
their body like Charlie Kirk did. And if you don't
understand before you do now. It will only stop when defeated.
I was ultra upset at Fox. I was listening to
Congress and Jason chaf it's a good friend of Charlie Kirk,
(12:09):
and we need to interrupt you here because Governor Newsom
said something.
Speaker 10 (12:12):
Getting some reaction in from California Governor Gavin Newsom. Remember
he went on and he had Charlie Kirk on his
podcast earlier this year. He says, quote, the attack on
Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible in the United
States of America. We must reject political violence in every form.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Huh, thank you. Newsome.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Knew some claim that when he was starting his governor
podcast podcast that his teenage son said, you gotta have
Charlie Kirk on and that was the reason Charlie Kirk
was on. I wonder what the views of previous Charlie
Kirk postings. And it's gonna skyrocket and the message is
going to spread even more. That's not a good well,
(12:59):
it's a good thing. I mean see, his message is
going to go on more people today will now go
want to hear what this man had to say that
was so dangerous that somebody had to in his life
take a father and a husband and a son away
from his family. And it disgusted me to hear Hakem
(13:22):
Jeffreys talk about, well, both sides garbage right on cue.
These jackasses will come out with us. Do not accept it.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
One side is doing this yours. Hakem seems to stop. Now.
I have Charlie Kirk here.
Speaker 11 (13:43):
He was.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
This is what he did.
Speaker 9 (13:44):
Man.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
He'd be out on the campus and he would debate.
Speaker 12 (13:47):
So, you know a lot of liberal people say that
Trump is authoritarian and different than any other president, right,
and you disagree with that. So I was wondering, what's
the smallest thing that Trump could do that would you know,
be different and authoritarian and a warning bell in your
sign that it's undemocratic, you know, like, is it running
for a third term?
Speaker 1 (14:07):
What is it?
Speaker 13 (14:08):
If Donald Trump did what Biden did, which was trying
to use the Justice Department to imprison someone that he
was running up against, I would speak out against that. Okay,
When Joe Biden used the Department of Justice to try
to put Donald Trump in prison for seven hundred years,
that's the thing that dictatorships are made of. And no
one spoke out against it in the media. We acted
as if this was normal. Okay, Trump's just going to
(14:28):
go to jail for seven hundred years because he's running
for office. Regardless of who's president, you should not lock
up the dissident leader. If Bernie Sanders runs her president,
we shouldn't try to put him in jail. If AOC
runs for president, we shouldn't try to put her in jail.
It's bad for the country.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah, there was Charlie kirk Man just a missile mind.
He had a missile mind. He could blow you up
and he wouldn't even know what was coming. Power talks
Jody Jones. He knows about loss of life.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
His brother was killed.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Biden illegal, he got to meet Charlie kirk We're going
to talk to Jody Jones Slitten.
Speaker 14 (15:01):
In twenty fifteen when I recently retired from the FBI.
Speaker 8 (15:04):
Gregg the many years.
Speaker 15 (15:05):
Yeah, Greg, I'm sorry, I'm sorry to interrupt you. It
is It is my great dishonor to be the person
that says this and breaks this to you on television.
But President Donald Trump is announcing on true social the
great and even legendary Charlie kirk is dead. No one
understood or had the heart of the youth in the
(15:26):
United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved
and admired by all, especially me, And now he is
no longer with us. Malania and my sympathies go out
to his beautiful wife, Erica and his family. Charlie, we
love you. Charlie Kirk, according to the President of the
United States, is dead.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Jody Jones joins us. Next, this is.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
The Trevor Kerry Show on The Valley's Power Talk.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Welcome back to the Trevor Carrey Show on the Valley's
Power Talk.
Speaker 16 (15:58):
Charlie Cook speaking underneath the tent on the campus outdoor.
Event you hear one shot fired, it would appear from
some distance, we know he was hit. We now wait
for wood obviously on Charlie Kirk's condition, but for everybody there,
(16:19):
it was a stunning and terrifying moment.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yeah, and we waited those two hours and the word
came out Charlie Kirk dead at age thirty one. We've
had some great guests on today, Thanks for all on
for coming on. I'd like to welcome my next guest
bywer Talk, Jody Jones. Jody welcome man. Sad day for
many man.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
Trevor, it is it's still hard to process, you know
what I mean. I first of all, I want to
start by saying, you know, the condolences to his wife
and his two kids and all his you know, family
and friends. Because if you've ever met, you know, Charlie Kirk,
if you've ever been around him, you know he's a
very powerful, uh person, and he really radiates godliness. And
(17:05):
if you know what I mean by godliness, it's that
person that this makes you feel good when he speaks,
and you know, he is very organic when he talks
and what he says.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
When did you When did you cross this path? When
did you get to meet Charlie Kirk?
Speaker 8 (17:21):
Jody America Fast last year in Arizona.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
He has a went down to Phoenix, right.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (17:30):
Yeah, they have breakaway set. Yeah, they have breakaway sessions
and and uh they have little rooms that you go
into and he talks and uh, he engages with everybody,
and he's just very powerful. You know. I think President
Trump said, you know, in a statement about the hearts
(17:52):
and of the young people, he really does. You know,
Charlie Kirk wasn't just somebody that you know, debated people
on campuses and in the left and the Democrats. He
didn't just debate him, He actually changed the vote to
the young people. You should have seen America Fest. In
the front he had a section of nothing but like
(18:13):
college kids and young people and there were probably three
four hundred, maybe five hundred just right in front, and
they all, I believe they all got free tickets to there.
And they were just so energetic, ensued screaming and yelling,
and you know, he was a threat to the left
and you know, everybody, I hear a lot of people say,
(18:33):
you know he is you know, he debates, and he
does this. He absolutely does that. But I think the
most thing, the most important thing is he drew the
young people of America to the Republican and the conserv
the conservative and to vote conservative. And I think that
was a big threat to them.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
He was making a difference. And yeah, I would say
the number one guy that had the pipeline in too.
You know what do we say twelve to thirty four
year olds or you know, the younger demographic in America.
But Jody, I had a lady call in the first
hour tell him about how her teenage son got her
and her whole family into Charlie Kirk and she was emotional.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Did you hear that yet?
Speaker 7 (19:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:16):
He effected. He effects the entire spectrum.
Speaker 8 (19:20):
Every Yeah, it wasn't just the young people, it was
it was adults, it was everybody. And that's what I said.
You know, if you were ever around him, you know
obviously a lot of people hurt him, talk they you know,
you know what you know his message and what he was,
what he was about. He wasn't a college educated person.
He was self educated, very intelligent man, very he was
(19:40):
a godly man. He was a god godly and family man.
That's what Charlie Kirk was. And you know when people
talk about him, I hope they don't. I hope they
don't talk about his death. I hope they talk about
how he lived.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Uh that image though, I'm gonna, oh I remember that forever.
I I've never like you. You've lost a loved one
to violence, your brother killed by an illgal alien with
hot lead. You've lived through that.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I haven't.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Fortunately, thank you Lord Above, had to go through what
you and many others have gone through, Jodie. But watching
that shooting there, did you watch the video?
Speaker 8 (20:19):
The Unfortunately I did, Trevor, and I heard you talking
about it, and I was going to address that. You know,
I wish, I pray to God that I didn't see it,
because first of all, is just just an absolute horrifying
scene and it reminded me of my brother, and it
really Again, I'm still very upset that I've seen it.
(20:44):
I wish I didn't see it. Very graphic, and you.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Know, a lot of a lot of death murder things
I don't watch because I don't like to see it.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I'm glad they blurred out.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
But the reason that drove me to watch it and
to go frame by frame real slow, was this see
if it was a kill shot, well, you know, when
we didn't know if he was alive or not. That's
the reason I really analyzed it.
Speaker 8 (21:06):
So I'm getting give my take on this. I was
listening to your show and I heard some people calling
and stuff. So here's my take on that. I do
not believe it was some crazy person that just took
a shot. I believe it was assassin. You know, two
hundred yards ye a, can people make that shot? However,
if you sink back to President Trump, when the kid
was up on the roof, and he took several shots
(21:27):
at him. This person took one shot and it was
a kill shot from two hundred yards and he's gone.
They can't find him. They've been two arrests. They'd let
him go.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
This was an absolute It doesn't sound amateur, does it.
Speaker 8 (21:42):
No, not at all. I mean it sounds to me
like he was very seasoned shooter, because apparently he was
very calm. Took one shot, it was a kill shot.
Now he vanished. Now do we know if it was
an organization, a person or we don't know. And you know,
but I do urge this, Please don't assume anything. That's
(22:06):
what the left does a lot, you know, And as
a conservative and a Republican, I don't want to jump
to conclusions. It may be mad, I'm super mad, but
you know, Martin Luther King said, returning hate for hate,
multiplyings hate and adding to deeper darkness. We can't do that.
(22:27):
That don't mean we lay down, That don't mean we
back up. No, this means we go forward and we
fight harder.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Trevor Well stated.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Well stated he did have the Martin Luther King, I'm
gonna get you in my mind and my words, and
Charlie Kirk is never violent, never a racist, even though
just like Trump and well just like yourself or me
or anybody that votes for Trump, they throw us all
into that into that category.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
I don't see.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
I was talking with told Cloud an hour ago, will
this make them back down a little bit? I thought
that after Trump and Butler, but they didn't do it.
They were right back to the trying to get him
shot again.
Speaker 7 (23:03):
Right.
Speaker 8 (23:03):
I heard you read the statement with the Democrats saying no,
and you know it's it's we can't. We can't thrive
off of what the Democrats do. We have to be
in control of our actions. And as a Republican and
a conservative, I am in control of my actions. I
know how I'm going to fight. You know, it's almost
like we're fighting a ghost, you know, with with with
(23:25):
what's going on, and you can't really put your thumb
on it, and and who's doing this? But you know
it's we all know what it is. We know the movement.
But now you know, we're just now getting educated on
how to fight it, you know, not being you know,
so scared when somebody caused your racist you know, you know,
people know what to say now, people.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Listen, Jody, this is I want to tell everybody this
is coming from a man that the anger that we feel,
the justifiable anger because of Charlie Kirk's assassination. I knew
him through watching him on video screens and hearing him
in my headphones. That's how I knew him. And I'm angry.
You had your own flesh and blood, your brother murdered,
(24:05):
so your anger was a thousand, a million times what
I'm feeling right now. You've been through this, You've worked
through this, so I think your words right now. You're
an expert.
Speaker 13 (24:17):
I know you.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
It's an expert something you wouldn't want to be an
expert on, but you are. So I'm glad you said
what you said.
Speaker 14 (24:24):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (24:26):
Seen that.
Speaker 8 (24:27):
And I've been thinking to this all day long. What
would Jesus do? What would he do? And again, you know,
we could be mad, we can be all that. Everybody
has a lot of emotions right now, but we still
need to use our brain. This is not where we
step back. This is where we go forward. You know
(24:48):
a lot of people say meet violence with violence. I
think we're better than that. We can meet violence with
a lot of different things. We are winning that's why
they're doing things like this, because we are winning. We
be in the Republican, the Conservative movement, the MAGA. We
are winning.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Well, now that I've had a moment to think about
your question, I think Jesus would say, keep preaching the truth,
and Peter, go ahead and keep that sword handy right there.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
We might need it.
Speaker 11 (25:17):
Amen to that.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Jody, thank you, man, appreciate you sharing, Thank you.
Speaker 8 (25:21):
Buddy, Thank you for having me on a God bless everybody.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
God bless you can hear Jody and Frank Saturday's at
one o'clock here on Power Talk. We have a few
more minutes, about twenty minutes left in the show. If
you would like to converse. Thank you to everybody that's called.
It's the way that it's the way we deal with it.
Everybody talking, everybody, Let's feel each other. Five five, nine,

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Welcome back to the Trevor Carey Show. On Power Talk
Charlie Kirk assassinated at age thirty one. It's two days
in a row. I've watched slow motion video with my
mouse here of seeing somebody's last moment seconds, the young
Ukrainian girl on the train, just sitting there. Charlie Kirk
is sitting there answering questions like he's done tens of
(26:25):
thousands of time to these college students in his life.
Taken away the second person of interest that the FBI
had in they've released the assassin still on the loose.
Let's go to your calls five five nine, two thirty
forty two forty two Jason and Clovis, Welcome, Hi, Cage, Trevor.
Speaker 8 (26:44):
How you doing.
Speaker 11 (26:45):
First time caller in my life for anything on any
kind of radio show, So thanks for patching me in
and thanks.
Speaker 7 (26:54):
For calling me.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
How you feeling today of over.
Speaker 11 (26:57):
Well, I'll tell you this, I'm pretty busy every day
with work. And to see what occurred was I don't
want to say sobering, but really take makes you take
a step back. And I think obviously I've heard listen
to the show today a little bit and heard people,
you know, talking about Charlie being in heaven and whatnot.
(27:18):
And I want to say politics aside, I think I mean,
this young man was winning hearts and minds for the Lord,
and the fact that you know, if we're thinking this
is the political thing, no, this is a spiritual battle.
I think he was winning hearts and minds for the Lord,
(27:39):
proclaiming the gospel and the good news of Jesus Christ
and softening people's hearts and minds to.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
To Jesus and.
Speaker 11 (27:52):
Helping save souls, you know. And I think so God
could perform, you know, a miracle on their hearts, in
their hearts, and I think, aside from the politics, and
as difficult as this is to see for the movement
of conservativism and what you know, what are country's going
(28:13):
through and the strides we've made recently to see this,
and I think the spiritual impact is far greater than.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Politics chasing great points. He was on the Devil's target list.
And it reminds me. Have you ever heard of Oswald Chambers?
Speaker 2 (28:34):
By chance.
Speaker 11 (28:37):
It probably should well.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
He has a devotional He died back in nineteen fourteen
at a young age, and his wife put together all
his sermons and I read his devotionals every day and
I always think, God, why would you take somebody this
smart and who spoke for you? Why don't you take
them off the earth at such a young age. But
here I am in twenty twenty five being blessed by
what this man said back in nineteen fourteen, Charlie Kirk.
(29:01):
Words will go on and we don't know what God's
plans are, Jason, but I appreciate you sharing that man
that was from the heart, and I'm glad I could
be the first call the show you called in on.
Thanks Jason, you bet you all right, let's go to
River Bank. We'll talk to Matt and Devin. You're up next.
Let's talk to Matt. I'm Matt, Hey, thanks so much.
Speaker 14 (29:22):
I really appreciate it. Trip. So I it was funny.
I was at dinner with some early dinner with some
friends from work, and uh, you know, everything, uh everything
sort of transpired and uh my phone started blowing up.
I have people that I worked with in the military,
and you know, it was kind of a it was
(29:42):
kind of an interesting, uh just kind of a surreal
sort of experience. And what what came through some of
the texts I got was that it first of all,
I believe it was the political assassination. Second of all
I truly believe is that the person who shot this
individual had some reasonable, some pretty good training. I think
(30:06):
was a two hundred yard shot I can't recall.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Yeah, yeah, that's what they're saying right now.
Speaker 14 (30:11):
Ards, Yeah, that's not it. That's not an easy shot
to make in those circumstances. And he that was a
next shot, so was the small target. He didn't shoot
center masks somebody who knew what they were doing. And
you know, the other thing that I was going back
to the first part of my call that I was
mentioning is you know a lot of my friends and
you know, working who work for you know, the military
(30:34):
and uh with the military, in the military, you know,
they they defend the right of people to express their
opinions in a democratic society. And it's just unfortunate that
certain elements within our society can't allow for reasonable debate
of ideas. I don't think that Charlie Kirk was ever
(30:56):
a mean individual who was trying to put people down
or you know, say say horrible things about him. I
think he was expressing a viewpoint and it's just really
sad that at this point in our country's history that
we're at a stage where, uh, you know, we can't
have civil discourse and and you know we're oring too
(31:19):
political assassinations. I mean, Dold Trump w three attempts on
his life. Do you remember the I think the Republican congressman,
you know, they were attacked. I mean, it seems to
all be heading in one direction, and that's just unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Yeah, uh, well, the levels are increasing. Riley Gains, the
swimmer that was driven into a safe room at a
college in the Bay Area because they were trying to
attack her. It just keeps getting escalated and escalated. I think, uh,
I think you and your military guys are onto something.
They're mad at a pro shot two hundred yards one
shot with that kind of hit. They still haven't caught
(31:56):
the individual. We keep saying, guy, but we don't. We
don't know who the end of visual we don't know. Yeah, well, Matt,
thank you for sharing there in River Bank. Let's go
to Devon and Arnold Devin, my friend, how are you sure?
Thanks for calling.
Speaker 7 (32:10):
Thank Trevor, good good to speak with you. Yeah, you know,
I got three three of these type of memories. You know,
One was when I found out Rush Rush died. I
was painting the hallway at a science house and then
when I heard Trump got shot, I was at a
barbecue across the street.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
How long until you knew he was alive? With Trump
there in Butler?
Speaker 5 (32:34):
How long?
Speaker 2 (32:35):
But time period, Yeah, that was quick.
Speaker 7 (32:38):
As soon as soon as I we looked at the
phone and you could see, you know, then he came
down and then got back.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Oh you were looking at the video. Yeah, okay, gotcha.
Speaker 7 (32:47):
Yeah yeah. And then this one, I was hanging a
light fixture in the kitchen and my mom texted me
and says like sad or something, and I'm like, okay,
you know, my mom texted me a lot dur than day,
so I can't jump to the fund. And then uh,
then I looked at what she sent me and it
was Pastor Hisibs. Sorry, all right, Pastor Hibbs talking about it,
(33:17):
and I guess he's he's they're good, they're really good friends.
And uh and his pastor his is going to have
a service tonight at seven at his church, and so
he's going to be he'll be discussing it and he's
also going to be have a spot on Fox News.
(33:37):
So he's he said, he's.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Haven't you gone down there to Pastor Jack Hibbs church.
Haven't you attended there?
Speaker 7 (33:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Yeah, yeah, he was on the show once. We had
him on the show once. He's a fascinating man. But
they're going to be holding a service there. You went
back over your life, I Devin, I'm I'm a little
older than you, I think here, but I remember Reagan
fourteen when he got shot and we knew pretty that
he was alive, and they covered it up. We knew,
(34:05):
we felt like he was going to live. And you
mentioned Rush dying. Yes, but the shock factor was there,
but it wasn't because we knew he was really sick.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
We knew he was probably going to die with Trump.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
I got the text, I jumped up, turned the TV
on and they were replaying it, and right when it
popped on my screen, it was when he was down
behind the podium. So my first shot was like, oh,
he's dead, That's what I thought. Then I saw him
rise up. I mean, I was just like wow in
the fifth So that fear wasn't that long. This was
(34:38):
the biggest assassination shock of my life, I guess.
Speaker 7 (34:44):
You know, and it's you know, we probably just he
was probably gonna be president. I think he would be.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
He had that ability, didn't he He did so.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
I guess people that felt like RFK when he got assassinated,
like they were like, he's he's speaking for us US
and we get to feel some of that that feeling.
You're the first person to say today, Devin, first person
I've heard to say he could be president. He could
have been president one day.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Yeah, Oh I believe.
Speaker 7 (35:13):
All right, Yeah, I would love to Yeah, love to
listen to his here hear what you have to say
about that.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Maybe tomorrow, Yeah, Devin, Thank you for calling in. God
bless you man.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
This is the Trevor carry Show on the Valley's Power Talk.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Welcome back to the Trevor Carrey Show in the Valley's
Power Talk to recap these tragic events of today. Charlie Kirk,
Turning Point USA founder shot in the neck. He tell
Valley University he lost his life. Thank you to uh
everybody that called in and shared today. Thank you to
my guests. Thank you to Mike Cordero for the email.
(35:52):
Trevor at Power Talk ninety sixty seven dot com. Appreciate
your your your words there. Pray for the family. Charlie Kirk.
It's hard to come up with the words today, So
thank you everybody that called in and helped carry the
load on the show. I'm going to play a little
here from the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Earlier.
Speaker 17 (36:14):
I've been in touch with President Trump, with FBI Director
Cash Patel. We are completely aligned with our state and
federal partners as we work through this case. Now, this
is a dark day for our state. It's a tragic
day for our nation. And I want to be very
(36:37):
clear that this is a political assassination.
Speaker 16 (36:44):
We are.
Speaker 17 (36:47):
Celebrating two hundred fte years of the founding of this
great nation, that founding document, the Declaration of Independence, that
this great experiment on which we embark together two hundred
and fifty years ago, that we are endowed by our
creator with certain unalienable rights. The first one of those
(37:08):
is life.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
And today.
Speaker 17 (37:13):
A life was taken. Charlie Kirk was first and foremost
a husband and a dad to young children.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
He was also.
Speaker 17 (37:34):
Very much politically involved, and that's why he was here
on campus.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Yeah, that's why he lost his life.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
He was making a difference. His words will continue, just
like Oswald Chambers, I pass away in nineteen fourteen. His
words make a difference for me. Every single morning. Charlie
Kirk will be just like Oswald Chambers. We don't know
God's plans. We don't know why he allows certain things
(38:03):
to happen. The anger is justifiable and it needs to stop.
Just like Buck Sexon said, We're gonna wake up in
a different country tomorrow. The violence and murder comes from
one side. I will continue that. I didn't want to
play a lot of the reaction today because we are
(38:24):
praying for his wife. We're praying that. Pray for those
agents in this law enforcement right now, manhunt underway. They're
putting their life on the line. Just pray this killer
has found water, bordered, and then sent to the gallows.
