Show me one sentence anywhere, aparagraph, a thought that Sacramento has that
would make you think that it's notgoing to continue to only increase these budget
constraints that we're going to be putunder because guess what, the tax base
left and are still currently leaving rightface in FA twenty four and twenty five

(00:22):
could possibly grow worse in FY twentysix, possibly grow worse. It's going
to grow worse. We're going totalk more about this budget. Daniel Glicktt,
Senior reporter, gv wied dot excuseme, samwiche valleysun dot com is
going to be on the show atthree point twenty here. We're going to
get more into this. But thisjust kind of came out here in the

(00:42):
last hour hour and a half. Here, I'm going to switch it up
to the situation with the now Iguess unpaid administrative leave chief Pacobalderama and the
fallout from all of this. Youhad the Public Access Public Broadcasting kV E
p R TV released the police officer'sname in question that chief allegedly had the

(01:07):
affair with his wife. That name, you know. I talked to Alex
Tavlian with Sama King Valley Sun wherethey were reporting this, and he was
on the show, and I askedhim straight up, have you talked to
the to the to the officer involvedwith this that his wife was allegedly having
the fair with the chief And hesaid, yes, I've spoken with him.
I said, are they still together? Separated? White? He said,
they're separated. I didn't go hey, man, after the show,

(01:29):
I hadn't called him, hey,can you give me the guy's name?
And you know what, they havea family, that's their privacy. And
now we learn that they have threechildren. And this comes from the Fresno
Police Officers Association. I read thePolice Officers Association was advised of two media
outlets that were planning on publishing thename of the officer whose wife, Chief
bald Rama had an extra matteral affair. Both the Fresno v and Kate Presno

(01:55):
B and k VP R were madeaware of the Police Officer association strong objection
to outing the victim officer, withthe following supporting concerns. They said,
by all accounts, the officer isa victim in this case. Publishing in
the name adds no journalistic value tothe story. The officer's status is a
public figure elected official has absolutely nobearing on or relevance in this situation.

(02:20):
And again he is the victim, not the accused. The victim officer has
three children who share his name.Publishing his name will subject these children to
ridicule, bullying, mental emotional suffering. Outing the victim serves no journalistic purpose,
it violates journalistic ethics and will destroylives, including the lives of children.
Now let's hope it doesn't destroy theirlives. But I get the seriousness

(02:43):
of this, they said. TheFresco Police Officer Association would like to acknowledge
the Fresno b for demonstrating integrity andethics and choosing not to publish the victim
officer's name. Thank you for yourconsideration and discretion. Yesterday afternoon, KVPR
chose to disregard the real concerns outlined, as well as additional concerns detailed by

(03:04):
the officer's attorney. The children havealready suffered the incredible trauma of having their
family ripped apart. The victim officerhad gone to great links to try and
protect his children by maintaining his statusas a confidential victim. The harm done
by publishing this story was not anoversight. KVPR made a deliberate decision to

(03:25):
do so in the face of knowingthey were revictimizing an officer who'd already suffered
greatly. They did so knowing theinnocent children involved would be subject to additional
mental and emotional suffering as a directresult of their decision. You know that's
not good on their part. Butlet's all go back to the zipper coming
down. There's where it started. There's somebody to blame, and it took

(03:46):
two to tango. There are twopeople creating all this descent, the two
people involved in the affair, theextra metical affair, adultery. That's why
God said, don't do that. The emotional suffering with the children in this
and kvpr's lack of discretion and ethicsI read in this matter the Fresnel Police

(04:09):
Officers Association said is shameful. Theirwillingness to subject innocent children to additional suffering
for the sake of outing a confidentialvictim is disgusting. It's appalling. KVPR
had no interest in protecting the victimofficer and his children by keeping them unnamed,
yet had full interest in protecting theirhigh ranking city official source who's providing
them information that is part of aconfidential personal investigation being conducted by the city.

(04:35):
So let's see. Fresnel Police OfficersAssociation KVPR dot org did a whole
story here, and I'm not evengonna try and get into what they're all
talking about because it's just too many. It's too much personal stuff. And
it's right. This husband is thevictim, the children of the victim.

(04:56):
Chief pauld O Rama's wife victim, his kids victim, way more than any
of us. Well, it's sadfor the city. Can't we get anything
right? You know what? Itaffects them. Those are the victims and
will be for the rest of theirlife. I hope there's forgiveness, but
that didn't take away being a victim, the hurt, the trauma, right.

(05:17):
I want the families to hopefully heal. I'm not saying I expect the
spouses to remain married. If theydo, that's their own, of course
decision. Here, I don't knowhow one comes back from alleged two and
a half years of an affair goingon. Now. I will read from
KVPR dot org here where they saidwe reviewed the agreement, but did not

(05:43):
sign it. Such agreements between themedia and subject or sources are unusual and
American journalism KVPR dot org dot org. Do you have a human h?
E A R T. Do youhave a do you have a human heart?

(06:03):
American journalism agreements or unused. Thisis a This is a sensitive situation
and you should think of the ofthe kids involved. Come on, this
is not a life or death sourcethat you're you're revealing or something. It's
something that's going to alter everything.Right, you had to know because the

(06:25):
Presnel Police Officers Association at least gaveyou a reminder that you might have some
decency. Right, they had tomake sure they reminded people in the media.
But you know what, Fresno btook a different course, and I'm
glad the Fresnel Police Officers Association acknowledgedthat I'm taking a different course as well.

(06:46):
I never I never once thought tokeep calling Alex come on, man,
give me the give me the sortof give me the name. As
soon as you know the name, man, let me know, let me
know. I didn't even have aninterest in that. I didn't want to
know it. It didn't didn't concernme, and I wouldn't think it would
concerned you. If I'd found outabout it, that would be detrimental to
the family. It already is toChief Balda Rama's family. Notice I didn't

(07:10):
ask Alex when he was on.I just asked him, do you know
if they're still together, if they'veseparated. I didn't ask are their kids?
I had those questions in my head, but I thought, you know
what, that's just not an arenathat we belong in. It'll probably come
out with the investigation, possibly asettlement. If it never did, and
this officer decided to transfer somewhere elseand we didn't know his name, and

(07:32):
only a few people maybe in towndid, that would have been maybe better
that his name never came out.But it's impossible with the what's that called
that that humans do a lot gossip, that's the word, that's gossip journalism
to do something to do something likethat, shame shame well, presdo city

(07:57):
council proved a two billion dollar budget. They better factor more in for the
lawsuit from this officer for his superiorallegedly having an affair with his wife.
But two billion dollar budget for twentytwenty four to twenty five six ozh vote.
It's like area has missed a meeting. Here. Let's say, oh,
pothole budget increase or eight hundred andtwelve thousand to two million and fifty

(08:18):
nine thousand dollars. Well, that'sgood. I would have thought our pothole
budget would have been in the millionsalready. Eight we had eight hundred and
twelve thousand dollars. Come on,that's not even twenty minutes the shipments to
Ukraine. Okay. We started theprocess with a projected forty seven million dollar

(08:41):
deficit, so some things had togo and some things stayed, and they
all seemed to pump fist and agreedthey did a tremendous job. We're going
to come back talk to the seniorreporter Samwikee Valley's son, Daniel Glitchet's nax.
This is the Trevor Terry Show onthe Valleys Shaw senior reporter Sam Uaquin

(09:01):
Valley's son Daniel Glickitch back on theshow. Daniel, how are you welcome
to the first full day of summer. What's your favorite season of the year.
You know, I probably got tosay summer, Trevor. You know,
good time to em. It's sohot here. It's a great time
to go on vacation, get outof town. Yeah, I saw three
beaches you shouldn't go to. Idon't know if I saw that on your

(09:22):
website or not, but the bacteriaridden. Now we got to check our
California beaches that we're going to.But yeah, we're such a quick drive
from the heat. But then whenyou come back all chilled out from the
beach, and it hits you likea wall, doesn't it. You have
your windows down, it's eighty degreesoutside, you're like that. Then it's
eighty five, then it's ninety five, then it's one hundred and five,

(09:43):
and here you are back. Nothinglike climbing back down into the valley from
wherever you are and just seeing thattemperature just keep on rising. Well,
we have budgets that keep on rising. I guess this fifth largest city in
the state of California takes about twobillion dollars. Can you kind of describe,
Daniel, the process that this goesthrough, and I read where mayor

(10:07):
met with each city council member oneon one kind of described the process.
Yeah, So, I mean normallywhat you have as the mayor, which
obviously has been has been Jerry Dyerfor the last few years, will come
out, you know, a monthor two ahead of time and roll out
propose his budget what he wants tosee, you know, which oftentimes has
been public safety heavy for example, and then they get together with with the

(10:33):
council and the council you know,in past years, previous years when they've
had a little more money to playaround with, a few of the council
members have come out with their ownpress conferences and their own proposals and how
they're going to shape the budget, which can be were you excuse me for
interrupting, but were you referencing COVIDmoney time period somewhat? But well,

(10:54):
yeah, especially with the infrastructure funding. I remember either a year or two
ago that was a big focus onwhere we're going to make this budget about
Fresno's neighborhoods, which a lot oftimes was exactly that, you know,
whether it's Cares Act or what haveyou. Now, of course we see
ARPA funding playing a role in thisbudget. That we can get to that
later. But you know, thisyear there really wasn't so much controversy as

(11:18):
previous years that there wasn't any youknow, big announcements by other members of
the council saying we want to shapethe budget, you know this way,
do this, and that it wasmore so they met individually with with dire
and you know, less budget motionsto shape it, crafted at how they
want it than in previous years. And it was a rather an uncontroversial budget,

(11:41):
you know, this time around,a little unusual for Fresno, at
least in recent years. Well,it seemed like a little bit of give
and take has to happen with anything. But the budget. Right off the
gate, we can say the biggestthing there is is fifty one percent of
it, two hundred and fifty millionis a general fund on on police.
I know we the nation went througha defund the police movement, but it

(12:05):
never really happened here in Fresno. But it did say the mayor rejected emotion
by council member Carbosi to add apetty theft detective. I guess everybody got
a little bit and people got thingscut out. They Carbosi had a motion
though, to spend seventy thousand ontravel to sister cities, and they approved
that. I just look at thesethings, I'm like, are you kidding

(12:26):
me? It's almost like Senator RandPaul's fest of Us report at times.
Right, Oh, exactly, Andyou know you mentioned that seventy grand for
the Sister Cities one, which youknow, I mean, what have you
They're going to do that, Iguess. But even in my story I
highlighted a few things like seventy fivethousand to the lgbtre Resorce Center, another

(12:48):
seventy five thousand, four grants toLGBTQ nonprofits. They've got a one a
half million dollars. It's a nicesizeable chunk to the eviction protection program,
seven hundred and twenty dollars to thenew wage the prosecution team. We're even
doing one hundred thousands of the immigrantslegal defense funds. All right, I
got it back to train up.Did I hear about one hundred and fifty

(13:11):
thousand dollars to LGBTQ I A plusindividuals. That's exactly correct. Okay?
Is that above and beyond the gayliaisons they called to the gay community?
Is that above and beyond that?I yes, that's an additional that's not
their resource officer at there. Okay, well, position in the city.

(13:33):
This is another one hundred and fiftyfor you know whatever else. I couldn't
tell you what exactly they do overat the resource center in the nonprofits.
Oh, we know what they do. I mean the only to separate.
Well, anyhow, let me goto the You said one tenth of a
million dollars for the Immigrant Legal DefenseFund. You like, I said one
tenth of a million instead of onehundred thousand sounds more. But that kind

(13:58):
of seems low when they're more orI guess maybe it chucked away in other
places. I guess that means itgets you an attorney if you're trying to
be departed. That's that's what myunderstanding is any sort of legal services if
you're having you know, immigration status, you know issues now I know,
Tyler Maxwell added, you mentioned thatthe eviction Protection Program one point five million

(14:20):
dollars, Daniel it, but whatis that where you can't get kicked out
of your house or something if you'renot paying your rent? Yell partially.
I mean, you know, inCalifornia there's all these different sorts of laws
that protect tenants. So the pointis, you know, the city,
which I believe, through the cityAttorney's office, then would go and work
for you. And you'll submit aclaim through the through the city and they'll

(14:41):
see if there's a case that youhave or not or if you know your
landlord candidate you with with you know, no uh, no issues there,
but that that's you know, whatany sort of legal protection the city can
provide. They're doing more than ahalf million now, Maxwell had one to
two million for that, but youknow, given the deafest the situation,
the city cut off all a quarterof that. Now. I also saw

(15:05):
I don't know, I've never beento the third floor at City Hall.
They're doing a third floor exhibit atCity Hall for seven hundred and forty one
thousand dollars. Did you see anykind of layout blueprint of what that means
or is about? No, thisis this is the first I'm hearing about
it. I've never been up tothe third floor either, and usually the
second floor for Council Member Shavez.I saw seven hundred thousand dollars for a

(15:30):
mobile food vendor program. I sawthese sort of pet projects that they have
that mean, why would I meanthat's we're three quarters almost there to a
million dollars for a food vendor. Those would be the food truck. So
does that mean we're going to buythem for people and give them the low
income individuals that can't afford it.I'm guessing us with that would probably mean

(15:54):
or upgrading or getting mental insurance.I don't know what he has in mind.
Yeah, it sounds like some sortof financial assistance there not not too
sure. I don't think the cityis going to be in the business of
actually purchasing for food trucks, buta lot of these are programs. Then
now that they've brought money, theyhave to actually figure out, you know,
how to use this money for theseprogram Let me ask you. You're

(16:17):
you're a younger Fresnonian, Fresite whateverwe call ourselves. Uh, I don't
know. I'm in my living rooma lot. What is the Fresno Hop
trolley service that I saw that wentbetween campus Point Tower District and downtown Fresne.
Is that different than the empty busesI see going around. Yeah,
that's a specific program, And believeit or not, their their idea is

(16:38):
to try to get Fresno State studentsto then after graduation, want to go
live in downtown Fresno. So Idon't know if they're going to have jobs
for them downtown or not. Butthat's the that's the idea of that specific
trolley programs Dalton Tower District too,so they can have some fun there or
Oh so it's like, while you'reat Presnel State, we're going to do

(16:59):
you a as a hop trolley serviceso you can, over these years learn
to fall in love with down here. When you graduate, you're gonna move
down here exactly. They're trying toget them on genius Genius. Wow,
that's great marketing. They would haveto get grocery stores, twenty four to
seven security gated communities, and Iguess a new sewer system to afford all
these people with. It's just reallyfunny. I've only been here nine years,

(17:22):
Daniel, and I can tell youthat it goes through these phases where
it seems like everybody's focused on downtown. Then it'll be quiet for a while,
then they're focused on and nothing everchanges. Nope. And I mean
I could tell you, Trevor, been here my whole life twenty eight years,
and there's always been talk about downtownrevitalization, and I don't know if
anything's ever, you know, actuallymade a difference down there this whole time.

(17:47):
Yeah, even Triple A said we'regoing to go to a single way
two billion dollars to keep this citycity running. And you know the one
that really got me was the seventythousand to visit all these other cities around.
That doesn't set well with taxpayers. When we got weeds growing up and
I couldn't believe it was only likeeight hundred thousand for potholes is what we

(18:08):
used to spend. Now we're goingto spend like two million. I guess
that's a that's a step and fillingin in the right direction here. Okay,
well, I guess it hasn't beenso somewhere where the budget had been
questioned for four years. Yeah,it's gone a pretty smooth to get at
the end of the day. Asfar as the unanimous support. Of course,

(18:30):
mcguilarius was not there yesterday present inthe chambers, so I guess there
could have been potential for a dissentingvote. But Tyer has been able to
negotiate with his council. No,he never causes any dissension or anything.
Not not at all. Hey,whatever happened with his explotive trump kind of
thing in his windows? That haveyou seen that? Still down there?

(18:52):
Or did he take that down?Is his office? I've not gone by
his office to see it. Yeah, it's not worth a glance. Take
it down? Well, Daniel thinks, where else can they any other social
media government restriction outlets? You wantto point him to that you they can
follow you. Oh, that shouldbe sounds the best spot. And sign
up for our morning email Sunrise Am. You'll get all our top stories in

(19:15):
grim Box every morning. Daniel, thank you for your time, buddy,
appreciate it. This is the TrevorCherry Show on the Valleys Power Talk.
The four year old boy that wasmissing at Huntington Lake was found safe.
He was on a quarter of amile from where he reportedly disappeared. His
family was from southern California up herecamping. The four year old was hungry

(19:37):
and tired, but in good condition. Reunited with his parents. More than
fifty deputies and volunteers combined to participatein this search. Sheriff's Officeersal County like
to thank the community. They said, a lot of people came out to
help join the search. Wow,that's gonna be a story they're gonna have.
He I don't know how much ofthat four years old he'll remember,

(19:59):
he might have some snapshot memories ofthat. Right, Well, what did
that little boy do all night?Right? I guess obviously maybe lay down
with it. But the fear hehad or unless he's just an I mean,
if he wasn't scared, then he'llprobably be when he's twenty four and
somewhere in the Amazon jungle, right, I mean out there fearless sorright?

(20:23):
But man, what a story,What a story? I can those parents
all night. I always tell thestory about how real quickly my daughter somebody
took her to go to the bathroomwe were playing volleyball at a beach and
didn't tell me they took her,and I looked over and she wasn't there
anymore. Freaked out, I hadabout two minutes of that freak out feel.
I just ran to the parking lotto stop any cars that were leaving

(20:45):
the parking lot. That was myintuition that just kicked in. And yeah,
the mom, oh I'm sorry, didn't tell you. Yeah, yeah,
you should say something like that.Yeah, So I had two minutes
of that. I can't imagine twentyminutes or two hours or all night long,
or you never ever get the news. What happened to him, right,

(21:06):
the missing kids. But that wentinto good good ending on their thanks
again, sawin King Valley soun Seniorreporter Daniel glickts there for joining us about
fiscal year twenty twenty five budget totallyabout two billion dollars, had a forty
seven million dollar deficit, and cityutilized the one time American Rescue Plan Act.

(21:29):
Also they did cuts other strategies toarrive to a balance budget. Now,
Mayor Dyer, I played the audiotop the eye. They were talking
about he's a fiscal conservative and againit needs to happen, Trevor, And
I'm not an increased taxes guy.I'm not a you know, I'm a
fiscal conservative, but I also recognizeright now we're in desperate times. Yeah

(21:51):
that all the American rescue plans theycame in, right, Joe Biden,
even Trump with the COVID money manthat went out. When I had Mayor
Dyer on a couple of years agotalking about, hey, this is a
blue state bailout that's going on herefrom red states that haven't shut down back

(22:11):
during the COVID lockdown times, Igo, this is federal money that's coming
from tactories across Amerrick. They're openingtheir economies, they're growing, and they're
funding us. So I don't wantFresno people that live in this city to
be punished because somebody in another city, like wherever you name it that may
have wasted money. Well let's takethat concept right there. You don't want

(22:33):
somebody punished in Fresno for somebody thatwasted money elsewhere. This is a blue
state bailout for their bad policies.I mean a lot's going to California and
to New York as well. Andas we actually found out with the Trump
administration with the Cares Act, thatwas based on per capital population, this
is going to be based now, this money that's going out is going to

(22:55):
be based on unemployment of the lastthree months. So states that did open
up will not get as much moneyas they're getting rewarded for having a lockdown.
That's kind of how I see it. Well, I guess, I
mean it's certainly a viewpoint. Yeah, that was that was my viewpoint,
right, President Biden, I don'tsay President Biden. I don't like to
say that. Joe Biden. Ofcourse, he's the President of the United

(23:18):
States. He lives at sixteen hundredPennsylvania Avenue. But anyhow, Joe Biden
think Mayor Dier because he was oneof the Republicans that went on the front
of the Washington Post to say, good job with all that COVID money still
coming to all these cities, right, Mayor Jerry, I don't want to
get you in trouble out on Fresno, California. Yeah, Well, I
asked the mayor about, you know, all the pork that was in all

(23:41):
of that, all that something didn'teven go to COVID, nothing even in
the ball park of going to it. Right, it was literally the Rand
Paul Festivus report that went out.I asked the mayor about all the pork.
Now listen, he says he readit, but he didn't know about
the port. Well, there's noway you could have read it and not

(24:03):
known about the pork, because ifyou read it, it was in there.
Now, you made these comments twoweeks ago, and I'm going to
ask you if you were aware thenthe Wall Street Journal editorial board, I
would say, calculates that all COVIDrelated spending adds up to eight hundred and
twenty five billion. That's not evenhalf of the one point nine trillion sticker
price. So this thing is justloaded with pork. You know, I

(24:26):
don't know about the pork. I'veread through the bill and seen what it
does. Well, it was filledwith Jimmy Dean pork. He could smell
it a cook in a country mileaway city of Fresno's talking about an increase
to the fees charged for our gagegarbage collection. The things would get all

(24:47):
upset about, right, PG andE off of the chart, Our damnvfees
off the off the chart. Right, we're talking about something going from nineteen
dollars to twenty eight, and thenby twenty two it might be forty one
a month for to have somebody comeby every single week and take away all
your crap, extra piece of Sushi'snineteen dollars in some places, I I,

(25:14):
I yeah, I don't want thingsto go up, but to me,
like a stamp, I can't believewater stamp. I don't even know.
Are they fifty cents or something thatsomebody that somebody will for fifty cents
or whatever, they'll take it andtake it to New York State for me
and drop it right off at somebody'selse. It's incredibly cheap. I say,
forty one dollars a month is incrediblycheap. To have somebody come by

(25:40):
and take your crap. That's tendollars a week, and that is now.
I don't want the increases to goup. And the reason they're talking
about it going up is recycling andorganic waste pick up and all these new
departments. We got a we gota new bin in our break room in
here that has been all these thingson the top of it that and I

(26:02):
looked in it. Oops, Iguess we're not doing it right. There
was nothing in it. But allthese regulations that are going on, right,
get of it all. Just throwthe trash away, man. Anyhow,
I look at this as a smallthing compared to what we're paying for
PG and E. Right, AndI know that there are those that are
going well, forty one dollars amonth matters to people on fixed incomes and

(26:27):
all of that going from nineteen totwenty eight dollars, and like, what
is it six years five years fromnow to be possibly forty one dollars a
month. I bet you five yearsfrom now, in twenty twenty nine,
it'll be probably one hundred and eightdollars a month. Just expect everything to
go beyond just anything you're doing inCalifornia right now. Apply the high speed

(26:48):
rail principle to it. Right now. They said the price had gone up
since two thousand and nine. It'san increase of one hundred and fourteen percent
over a five year period. Theygot to increase the cost of operating solid
waste service. And I'm sure itcosts well. I'm positive those big old

(27:08):
trucks. Man, you think thosethings get what eight miles to the gallon?
Those things are driving every single day? Would the price increase? And
with it not going anywhere in anyother direction anytime soon, everything is costing
more, and there trying to playit off like it's a it's a five

(27:32):
year thing, right, so that'sall that's going to happen. So if
you're paying a little over nineteen dollarsright now for a small bin pick up,
by next month you'll be paying twentyeight dollars. And it says by
twenty twenty nine you'll be paying fortyone dollars a month. All right?
Is this uh Nick running for citycouncil? Nick? Is this district?

(27:52):
Nikki for six? Nick Richardson oneand only sir, how are you?
I guess this garbage pickup thing caughtyour win running for city council. Please,
you probably know more about than Ido. Am I acting like it's
not a big enough deal. Well, you know it is a big deal.
And the big deal isn't that theseventy five percent increase over a period

(28:12):
of time. I understand right,it should be adjusted for a cost of
living, inflation, so on andso forth. The reason, all of
a sudden that we're getting hit withthis increase in trash fees is because there
hasn't been an increase made since twothousand and nine, so they've gone for
fifteen years not adjusted it at all. Nobody wants to be the one who's
quote unquote raised any taxes, sothey've essentially kicked this can down the road.

(28:34):
Set individuals who want to go intolocal office and want to be fiscal
conservatives and lead responsibly, and allof a sudden we're left holding the bag
metaphorically. And now I'm sure otherrates. I know that other services have
gone up in fifteen years. Youwould have just thought, with the price
of gas going up that the serviceswould have had to naturally go up over

(28:56):
the last years, with a rateof pay change that's gone on up over
fifteen years, with somebody quote asleepat the wheel of the trash truck.
You know, I think that there'sa lot of reform in the city that
needs to go on with garbage andwaite disposal that really hasn't happened, and
it's not the fault of you know, the people providing the service. But

(29:17):
you just look at you know, last year's budget, I still have you
had to go through and look atthe dump sees in this one. But
we're paying just over nine million dollarsfrom the city to the county just to
just those the people's trash. Ninemillion dollars were essentially taking that check across
the street and paying the county touse their county landfills. So the fact
that we haven't worked out a betterdeal than you know, spending nine million

(29:38):
bucks just on doing something that acity at the very basic metropolitan level should
be able to provide kind of showsa laziness of leadership. I don't know
if you have an answer to this, but do other cities have their own
landfills or do the cities paid thecounties like does Oakland pay Alameda County to
go dump in their county, ordo some cities have their own quote so

(30:00):
they don't have to pay extra ninemillion for it. Kind of varies.
We have a unique situation here inFresno that getting out of the city and
into the county isn't a very fardrive. Other cities don't have the luxury,
so a lot of times their dumpsare city property. Sometimes they're private
dumps. They have them privately contracted, letting that free market economy ride well.
I don't seem to have an issuewith people coming by and picking up

(30:22):
the trash. I don't think peoplehave that issue. They show up every
I mean, they're consistent, atleast where I live, they're consistent.
But it seems like the city hassuch a problem picking up the trash that's
laying around. That's the problem.I don't understand why the weeds don't get
cut. I guess that's a Caltransthing. The on ramps and off ramps,

(30:44):
right, it seems like there's notenough pressure on Caltrans, or whether
Caltrans says we just don't have enoughfolks and we're just constantly cutting it and
it takes us seven months to getto your intersection or something. I don't
get that at all. Well youcut out, Nick up, you're back
on. Go ahead, answer thatone. I don't get the weeds and

(31:07):
the you know it looks like theriver Nile over there. Well, yeah,
depending on where it is that itcould definitely change jurisdictions. Right,
if it's up close to the river, that's going to be different from the
weeds that are accumulating alongside the freeway. But I've even heard from people up
here in District sixth and Northeast Presnothat their trash wasn't picked up when they
were expecting it. Personally, I'venever had any issues, you know,
when I lived at a private homeand then even now that I'm in a

(31:29):
complex. So again it's I meanthe driver or the busting their butt out
there trying to make sure it getsdone. They just see the backing from
the city and we just need thecity and county leadership to work on that
relationship to save people money. Soit's okay, it's going to be forty
one dollars by twenty twenty nine.Of their projections here is that do you
know what like if you live inSanta Monica, or if you live in
Sacramento or San Diego, what areare we in line kind of or if

(31:53):
we've been kind of lagging and nowwe're catching up with other trash places.
It's the second option. You're kindof behind. There are some disparately you'll
find that are left. But we'reessentially trying just to get back up to
market rate. Just the things topay for the maintenance and the gas and
the you know, the salaries ofthe workers and all that. We're just
trying to get back to where weshould be. Hey, man, I

(32:14):
appreciate you chiming in on this.Thank you, Nick, absolutely, brother,
God bless you, bet you,God bless you. Nick Richardson,
he's running for city Council District six. That's his take on it. So
glad to report again that four yearfour year old boy that was missing.
They they found him. Hallelujah, hallelujah. I said, I was going

(32:34):
to talk about some traffic collisions.Oh my word. Corey and Dan Wells
their Fryant Roulette, the father sonteam out there. We've had him on
the show. Corey this morning sentme a video of what happened in the
I think it's a little after midnightlast night, right up at fried and
Shepherd. It is such an opticalillusion. There's no denying it anymore,

(32:57):
none whatsoever. I'm going to talkabout the Fryant Room next. This is
the Trevor Ferry Show on The Valley'sPower Talk. Fryant Roulette YouTube. I
just went there to check out.Talked to Corey this morning and he said
YouTube was still looking. They gotto approve the video before it goes up
or whatever. But the video thathe sent me that wasn't on YouTube from
directly from his camera there just showeda person red light right there at Fryant

(33:22):
and Shepherd, and the green lightI'll lit up after midnight to turn right
right there. And it's how theroad curves. Man, if you're looking
at the thirty percent right side ofyour car, Oh, where's my cell
phone? Oh it's in the passengerseat. Oh there's no cars in front
of me. Let me look overhere. Oh I'm glancing up. Oh
I see a green light. I'mgonna keep going and they don't look up.

(33:44):
It's obvious what happens. Go lookat Fryant Roulette. Look at every
single accident. It's obvious. Theydid not see the red light. There's
an optical illusion there. So whatyou need to do. I'm an expert.
I've traveled it. I added itup and eighty times over nine years,
not counting weekends. So if I'mnot an expert, who is city

(34:05):
Hall? Really? Have they beenup there four thousand, six hundred and
eighty times back and forth to workevery single day? Dangerous? So easy
to fix. Get rid off thegreen left turn when the other lights are
red. You pull up, youwant to turn right onto Shepherd off of
fryand well it's a red light. You stop, you go, Okay,
it's going back some traffic up whatever. The lights are right, either all

(34:28):
green or they're either all red.And if you pull up and it's red,
there's nobody turning. Let's say thecars off a Shepherd are turning left
onto Frying unless they were making aU turn there, you would turn right.
They would just keep turning right, but you would come to a stop.
That would get rid of that greenarrow. Okay, it's going to
back it up on Frenight during busytimes. That's called traffic to and from

(34:52):
work. Okay, it's better thanhaving people plowing into people there's already deaths.
I still see those flowers. Ohmy, I think is her name
who was killed by that tow truckdriver there. This is an obvious fix,
nobody will do it. It's notjust dumb drivers, well it is

(35:14):
dumb drivers, but it's dumb driversand we're making it easy for them to
be dumb. This is the Trevorcarry Show. MONDA Valley's Power Talk
