Speaker 1 (00:00):
Quinck, can we read this story because gen xers, we're
gen xers, right, we're now managing.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Gen Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Gen x'es are managing gen Z now, so he's got
you got a little bit of an age gap. Things
are done a little bit differently. So these are these
are things that piss off gen X bosses. When they
hear the gen Z employees say these things, it's just
like raising a child.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
If it pisses them off, or it just gives them
such great pause, like just not know what to say
next when they say stuff like that, that's not my problem, boss,
that's not my problem. That's one thing they say.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Can we do this remotely?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah? Yeah, I don't know about that, and I don't know,
but can we do this? It makes more sense currently.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
But some of these are not These are not all bad.
But we'll get to a little bit of flare out.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Let me just be I actually love this because I'd
love that they're just I love that they're staying to
they're so hardcore with these beliefs. Gen X isn't changing
them back, you know what I mean? So this system,
this system is outdated, this Windows eleven.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I mean you say that I do this, this, this is,
this could have been an email. These things I can't
I can't really argue with a ton. Well that's not
my problem. But how about what is I get? How
about it?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Excuse me, sir, but this probably could have been an email,
a little bit of you know, a little bit of
you know, acknowledgment of the gen X. Sorry, I'm not
just I'm just not a morning person.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Now here's where, here's where it starts to rub me raw.
Because this is your job. It requires you to be here.
The job starts in the morning. Yeah, that's not an excuse.
I was only a few minutes late. Also an excuse.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Be talking about it. Still got the job done. Thought,
I'll stick around for your next to three minutes. So
you look at me like that's I mean, that's amazing.
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I mean, have you guys ever heard of Tom Coughlin, who, yeah,
the coach of the Giants, the Super Bowl winning coach
of the Giants, who if you were not five minutes early,
you were late? Does anyone ever hear that?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
That sounds so old cantas that's that you're wearing those
those funny gym shorts that my gym teacher used to wear.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yes, if you got five minutes early, you're late. So
I'm not gonna take I was a few minutes late
as being.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Okay, how about this boss that's above my pay grade?
Gall the balls on gen Z. I love it this.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
This is what my boy says. I don't do well
under pressure. Pop. Well, well we're under pressure. There's a deadline.
Let's get it.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Done, because that's how you're supposed to do it, right. Okay,
So I've just I noticed that from your experience with
your own son. That's gotta be how you have to manage,
not your own son.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I walk on eggshells around him because I do know
how much pressure. Well, he can't know how much pressure
he hates.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I'll finish this whenever I get to it. Finish, get
to it.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
These are gen Z employee things that they say that
piss off your gen X bosses. And here's another one
I get from the kids. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed
right now. Can we take a pause.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
These all go together. I don't do well under pressure.
I'm finishing when I get to it. Yeah, I'm feeling
a bit overwhelmed right now.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
We've taught them to take a pause, so I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Okay, fault not fault. I love it. I think it's
the right way to raise a creature. It's interesting, for sure,
to not be as optimal
