Speaker 2 (00:16):
Everyone's in a bit of a rush this time of year,
but there's one man who, for twenty four hours, is
busier than anyone could ever be on the planet. Santa
Clause Saint Nicholas prepping his sleigh, just hours before he
sets off on his longest night of the year. A
New Zealand, of course, because of the time time zone,
is the one of his first stops, and so he
(00:39):
is here with us right now for a quick chat
before his crazy old twenty four hours. Santa Clause, Hello,
how are you?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Good morning? Good morning? It is morning down there? And
are chair rower? Isn't it? Yes?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
It is now? Can I just click here we go?
Can I just clear up something? What do you what
do you prefer to be called? Would you like to
be called Santa Claus? Would you like to be called
Saint Nicholas? Would you like to be called Nick? Would
you like to be called Father Christmas?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I like Santa carall sake you very much. Indeed do
most of my documents, says Center Clause.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Very good. Okay, so i'd love to know what your
job description is as well, because that's the world's greatest
benefactor or whatever. But anyway, how is the prep going?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Oh? Not bad? Very experience still caused me in the elves.
I take a bit of a back step really because
the els are incredibly efficient and I've been doing it
for such a long time. But yeah, we're up to
date with everything and looking forward to delivering all the
(01:44):
parcels to the children. One hundred and ninety five countries.
I get through in twenty four hours.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's amazing. What's your trick? Of course you won't tell us.
A magician never two. A magician never tells the trick
and how it works and all that sort of thing.
Can I just say, you've been in the malls all
over the place. How you do that is beyond me
as well. And of course you've had children on your
lap and they've been whispering in your ear and they've
been telling you what they want. So what do they want?
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yes? Well, remote control vehicles was quite a big thing
this year. I'm not quite sure how remote they want
to be from the vehicles, but there's been a lot
of bearied things. I had a love when I was
at sky City last week. I had a lovely boy
(02:33):
and girl, brother and sister. She wanted a skipping rope
and he wanted to hulup, and I was quite amazed.
It took me back decades, really many decades, but that
was what Cholpred asked for, so I was very pleased.
A lovely old fashioned response.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Exactly together. A present where you do not know which
doesn't have a sign that says betteries not included. It
is a great thing. So the nauty a nice, nautial,
nice liss. We could talk about the nice, but you know,
with the evil media, so like, how big is how
big is the naughty list?
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Oh? Well, it is getting smaller because people of the
children do and realize if they want a present, they
have to be nice. I don't mind if they're mostly nice.
Eighty percent is not bad, is it. I don't think
that of me. I do not really take much notice
(03:39):
of the naughty and nice books. There once again a
bit of an old fashioned notion. I think everybody just
try their hardest to be positive and pleasant to everybody.
And I always say to the children, be kind to
everyone around you, and remember that Center loves you. Yes,
(04:06):
I am good.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Light for I know your humility. Your humility is amazing.
And I thank you so much for your time today
and I wish you, I wish you all the very
best of like in your busiest day of the year.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
And thank you so much, thank you, Thank you Many
Christmas to everybody in air, dear row, oh, thank.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
You, bye bye, see you tonight, hung up on them,
see you tonight, Say hello to Rudolph and all that
sort of thing.
