Speaker 2 (00:16):
So your wedding day is one day of a bride's
life where all the attention is on her, and for
one bride to be, she's taken that to a whole
new level. She's going to get hitched at the boxing
day racist at Elleslie today. An estimate of fifteen thousand
people there, so that's like fifteen thousand guests at your
wedding day. It's going to be the biggest wedding of
the year. And the bride's name is Louise. Louise Savage.
(00:38):
Good morning to you.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Good morning, Andrew.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
How are you.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
I'm really nervous, of course good.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I'm just amazing you're even talking to me for a
bride on her day at seven seventeen in the morning,
with a lot of preparation to be done and a
big day in front of fifteen thousand people. I'm so
tough that you actually took time out to have a
chat to us. It's going to be big. It's going
to be big.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I know. Please stop saying that I have very few
preparations to do because to me, it's just a day
at the races, So I will just be imagining and
preparing to go for a lovely day out of the races,
and there happens to be a winning thrown in between
race two and three.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Oh yes, how's that mare going? I'm very very good,
you know exactly? And what are you going to be
dressed in? I mean, you can't say too much because Steve, yes,
I can well, Steve, No, Steve might be listening. He's
not supposed to know.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
But it's quite okay because I am actually wearing the
very dress that I was wearing the day that I
met Steve at the Gibbone Races back in twenty twenty fantastic.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
So you're obviously a racing person.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I was wondering, why on earth is she doing it there?
And I wondered whether this was a promotion put on
by the racecourse or whether this was your own free will.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
No, we thought that we would have a quiet little
wedding with just ourselves, because we are in an older
age group, and we're having our adult children as witnesses,
maybe in the garden of the hotel where we're staying,
and then we would just walk across to the races
and have a lovely day out at Elleslei. However, things
(02:23):
change when Steve I call from Kay at Auckland Racing Club.
He was because he was trying to arrange tickets for
our family and friends to come, because we're members of
Aukland Racing so we were wondering if we could get
our family and friends a day ticket somehow.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
It's snowboard, snowboard. It's a beautiful enderstatement. It's a beautiful
I understanding. So you and Steve are right into your racing.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yes, we we're long, long time race followers. We love
thoroughbred racing.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
It's a beautiful thing. Well, what's Steve's last name?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
He is Steve Middleton.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Middleton Middleton versus Savage. Yes, if if I was, I'll
keep your maid name personally. No comment.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
We haven't. We haven't got that far yet. We haven't
actually talked about that. All of this has been all
of this has been planned and executed pretty much within
a week. So very good.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh wow, that is very very quick, Okay, isn't it. So?
So you're you're getting married between race two and three, correct?
The rest of the time, are you going to be
popping down to the bookies and placing bets and in
which which case who are you backing.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Steve will most personally be placing some bets. I only
occasionally do I love going down to the third cage
and seeing all the horses up close to me. It's
all about watching the beautifully turned out horses. I imagine our
guests will certainly be having a having a few bits,
and once all the nerves are over and have flown
away and we're into race three, it'll just be a
(04:02):
lovely day out with our family and friends.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Oh it's going to beautiful. I can tell you, Louise
that the weather is fine, the track hard and fast,
and you're getting married and we only wish you the
very very best.

Thank you very much, Andrew.
