Speaker 1 (00:00):
So people were kind of concerned about whether or not
the Fantasy show was going to happen. Four is out
on paternity leave. He's gonna be gone for a couple
of weeks. Oh good, don't worry. We got it covered
because my man be Dub is back in the house
and joining us for fantasy freaking football.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's time to review your fantasy team. Here down, commissioners,
it's time for fantasy freaking football ball.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
So here's the thing. People probably don't understand this and
don't know this, that Fantasy freaking football goes back what
fifteen years, maybe even longer than that. Yeah, because Brian
and I did Fantasy freaking football with the Chargers broadcast.
So before the Chargers pregame show started, we would do
(00:54):
the Fantasy show. And so this this goes back to
two thousand and five six, the first somewhere around there,
and so we were doing the Fantasy show on the
radio for you know, fourteen years. We did it until
the Chargers left, and so then it became into the
podcast form which it is today where Thorn and I
took over and so well we we fired b Dub,
(01:15):
he stole and so b Dub and I would do
the Fantasy show forever and then now Thorn and I
do it, and b dub is in other departments. You know,
you're you're you're.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
I'm a sales guy.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Your sales guy.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
You know it's I'm a sales Yeah, let's be honest.
I mean I brought Thor into this world, he really did,
and he took me out.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah. Well, sometimes the you know what they say, the
mentor becomes the master or whatever. I don't know what
the hell that's saying is, but that's that's fitting, you
know whatever. But yes, you were. You were taken out
by your boy Thor. And so when Thor went out,
I said, it's called beat up back in. So it's
a nice reunion. Me and be dub is good former roommates,
(01:55):
longtime friends with Yes, thirty years I've known this man.
Can you believe that? Jamie? Now? Thirty years me and
btub go back here and we are in two fantasy
leagues together. We have been for for a very very
long time. What's crazy. I always call it the og League,
which is the league that you and I are in
with your dad and his buddies and all that stuff.
And we've been playing Fantasy. I am one of the
(02:18):
newer guys, and I have been playing since ninety nine.
Isn't that crazy? Like some of those guys have been
playing since back in the day when you would literally
take out the newspaper and write down the stats and
do all that stuff and then call the guy yeah
and be like this is the points I got, what
you got and all that stuff. So, I mean that
league has been around for what fifty years?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Really forty something years. I started officially when I was twelve. Yeah,
I'm fifty one, geez. So it just shows you how
long I've been in that league. But you're right, that
was the old at the back of the sporty news.
That was the bible that they had to like, you know,
call in to make transactions a cheaty man.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, Like we just went to the app into the
online thing, like what maybe, well it's been ten years ago,
like ten years ago, and even then, it was like
that was a tough transition for these guys.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Because some of the things, it's it's so archaic and
it's points only yea. Even now it doesn't necessarily.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
There's arguments, you know, should we do this and should
we do that, and we're like, oh jeez me and
just sit back and go all right.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Well, I get it. I used to get real frustrated.
Now I'm just like it's I wanted to and you
always say it, you want this to go long as
long as it possibly can. I mean, I think there's
still four charter members from the initial nineteen seventy nine season, and.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Some of these guys, I don't even think they watch
football anymore. They just like being part of it, right,
you know. So they're not retiring anytime too, So they're
just around. So we've been in that league for twenty
six years together, and so you know, been around a
long time. And then you and I helped create the
iHeart League back in two thousand and five six around there,
and so we've been both been in that league this
(03:50):
entire time. Now you and I are both the only
three time champions of the iHeart League. Now me, I'm
the only back to back winner, just saying in league
history over the year maybe, oh no, that wasn't a
COVID year. That was the year that you and I
shared a title, which is still very controversial.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
That was at credit. You get credit for half a title.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah, and so we've been in that league together for
obviously a really long time as well. And then I
joined Thor's Buddies League three years ago I think, And
so I've been in that league as well. And you're
in another league too.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Yeah, I'm in a neighborhood league, which is kind of
fun because every league is a little bit different.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, the same with me.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
I have fallen in love with the half PPR or
the PPRS style, which I kind of hadn't done for
a long time getting back into that. I just think
it's the most fulfilling and rewarding players.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Because you're hoping to get catches in a standard league,
you're not getting any credit for the catch. You're just
getting credit for yards, correct, And so it's kind of
you know, you're kind of like, oh, it's not as
good well you.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Had if you had Keenan Allen for all those years,
going back to even the San Diego days. He never
was a high touchdown guy and he never was like,
you know, tons of yards, but he'd gets you one
hundred plus catches and you didn't really reap the rewards
of how good he was.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, and it just makes guys like now like CD
Lambs and Aman Ross, Saint Browns and those guys are
super important. Whether if you're in the standard league you're like, eh,
you know, I'd rather have a running back, yeah or whatever.
So that's the that's the history of B dub with
this show. So it's good to have you back. Man.
It's kind of cool talking football.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Feel like they've never left. Okay, I don't know about that.
I filled in before. I think, you know, killed. I
get a lot of emails about that's definitely. Does the
email still work? I think it does. Old Fantasy Fantasy
Free f f f f f at dot com. I
think so yeah, oh god, it still might be tight
of go to you. I think it's me. That's why
(05:39):
I so I answer people stuff. I'm like, yeah, start
this guy, and then I blame it on Thor.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
That's that's bad. So yes, while Thor is out, B
dub is going to be filling in, hanging out with
us doing the fantasy show. Here's how it works, B
dub is that people can reach out to us with
their questions. Every week. You can email us. I don't
know about that f FF thing, don't don't bother you just
email me to or you can hit us up on X.
It's at the show, Eddie, you want to give out
(06:04):
your X? Do you do you ever check your Twitter anymore?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I I go on it, but I.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Don't ever do it.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
I mean, I think it's a beat up. You don't six.
I think it is you don't even know what you're
t B d U b SD six one nine.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Every once in a while I'll get hit up. You
actually adds me nowadays, these really hot chicks. It's weird,
all of a sudden follow me out of the bard. It's
so bizarre.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
It's where they show up in your stream. That's great.
So yeah, we answer questions every week and people always
have their you know who to start, who to sit
type of theft stuff, and so let's get to those
right now.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
This first question says, in a tough spot with craft
going down, I have no real tight end. Now is
the backup Luke muskgrove a worthy pickup in Green Bay?
Don't even bother?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Well? I guess it depends how deep your league is.
I think there's still value out there and tight end.
You know, I'm a big tight end.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I love tight end. I do.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
I just think that they especially when you get into
the playoffs. They're no brainers. But you've seen some guys emerge.
It just depends who's available, it really does, you know,
because there's value out there on other teams that when
you maybe they're not the sexiest guy each week is
being a higher score, but collectively that some of all
their parts helps you out. Yet.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
What I like to do in that situation if I
have a top end guy go down, is I'll look
at everybody's roster and you know, there's a guy that
has two like really good tight ends. Like right now,
in one of my leagues, I have both Sam Laporta
and Dallas Goddard, and so I never need to play
Goddard usually because Laporta does it really well. But then
the one bye week that Laporta had, I had Goddard
(07:35):
in there and he went off, so it was like perfect.
He scored two touchdowns that game. I was like, this
is awesome. So if somebody hits me up anyone and
wants Goddard, make me the right offer and I'll trade
them to you. I don't need him anymore, you know.
So that's what I would do. I would look at
people's rosters and see that guy who's holding on to
a second tight end, then they don't need him, and
it could be a lower end guy, you know, like
(07:56):
like Travis Kelcey right now, true, who's not doing much
and maybe get him on the cheap or Kyle Pitts
or somebody like that.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
You brought up Kelsey obviously, Oh no I didn't.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
I actually did. Okay, I actually did.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
I thought that was one of your subliminal jabs.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I could have. So Brian and I in are og league.
I just we just played each other, and this past
week I crushed him. No, sorry, I did.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
It's fourteen point.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I mean it was a pretty big blowout.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Like the first time I scored thirty points, and you
were pretty happy.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, sorry, sorry? Uh. And so you just dropped Travis
Kelcey like the weeks ago, the week prior, and of
course I loved it to be the snake on the
waiver rire and just look for people making dumb mistakes,
you know. And so I've picked up great guys. You know,
I'm like, we think you dropped that guy. And Kelsey
was one of those guys where I was like, you
(08:43):
know what, I think that the Chiefs are going to
start to figure it out at some point, and Kelsey's
gonna get some touches here, so why not I decided
to pick him up.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Well, and first week scored, I was like, yes, my
damn it.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
And of course I rubbed it in because I can't.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Figure it out. I obviously have when it comes to
just points on you know, touchdown scores, Yeah, they're massive.
Justin Jefferson has been a donkey, right, I mean he
has lose your number one pick. He just scored a
second touchdown all year, and I'm like, oh my god.
You know, sitting at I think seven where I drafted,
it was horrible. So yeah, I mean I've been frustrated
trying to figure it out. And then one week I
started dealing you know, Wattle this week didn't score. Yeah,
(09:19):
I had McBride on the bench. You know, it just never.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Folways, you can't figure it out. And remember that used
to be my big issue.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
And that's the hardest part. Sometimes when you over overdraft,
meaning that you get the value in the draft and
you hold on to it if you don't move it,
it sometimes creates a little bit of a quandary if
they're both good players or you never know who to start.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
That's why I'm a big fan of trading, right, Like,
you know, what if I got a guy and he's
sitting on my bench and he's doing well, and I
don't you know, I think at some point the other
guy is going to go off offer him up for somebody,
you know, and like, why have him just sit on
your bench and be frustrated every week or pick the
wrong guy every week. I'd rather get rid of him.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Ynestly and go deeper into maybe like a position you
don't have as good as players. Yeah, I agree with you,
But going back to the initial question, I think I
guess they're gonna need a tight end and saw how
much love liked a craft. With that said, though, is
there's other value out there that might be guys that
are gonna get you more weekend week out possibly?
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, this is a PPR League flex question. Do I
start Ashton Genty or DJ Moore. That's a tough one
because Genty we we really thought he was gonna be
much more fantasy value than he has become. I don't
I don't really get how they use them like they
He'll disappear for a really long stretch of time. Yeah,
And I'm like, what are the Raiders doing? Like Pete
(10:30):
Carroll loves to run the football, like pound that guy NonStop.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
It's almost like I don't want to have him be
done in two years as a rookie. I'm a trest
stretch him out of a his four year, five year contract.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
You ain't gonna be around.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
I know you're like, you're saving touches. I don't under
like ninety five, just the opposite what they did the
Josh Jacobs when when the Raiders had him. Yeah, I
think it is fundamental with the offensive coordinator and in
this year, I think Geno Smith's a serviceable quarterback. They
have a great tight end. They you know, they just
got rid of Jakobi Meyers, so obviously they lack a
wide receiver. They're just not consistent and their offensive line
(11:01):
is not that great. So to me, I probably lean
the other direction Dj Moore, but then he's made miss
Caleb Williams is he's an intriguing quarterback because he's to me,
he's soft, but he's got a hell of an arm
and he's got some playing well.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
You gotta give him credit. Especially this year he's playing well.
It seems like Romadonsay is his main guy.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Except for last week he went, yeah, he had zero point.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
That was weird. Yeah, but but DJ Moore, you know,
they they look like they're trying to utilize them a
little bit more, especially even in those like jet sweeps
and things like that. So you're gonna get touches with
your judown pass last week, Yeah, he did to Caleb Williams,
and so yeah, you're gonna get points for that, points
for different things. I just don't trust Genty at this point.
And so because it's PPR, I kind of lean a
(11:46):
slight edge to DJ Moore would as well, I guess
sou So the next question says, who do I start
half point PPR at wide receiver Chris o'lave, who is
taking on Carolina or Jordan Addison versus Timore? What do
you like?
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Well, I will tell you right now, I have a
lave on a list. And then I scratched him out
because I'm like, it's still the Saints right now in
terms of where they're at, but them getting rid of
or Shaheed, she'd warrant more probably opportunities for him. He
only had five catches. They did not want to surprising However,
Addison has a better chance of scoring. When you watch
(12:22):
a JJ McCarthy and you watch he's looking for him
in the red zone. He's looking to stretch the you know,
the defense a little bit more because Justin Jefferson kind
of warn'ts double coverage a lot. They usually have him
manned up with their best player, you know. II leen
On Olave. I think they're playing, uh Carolina, Carolina, which
is coming off a huge win, and I think Carolina
is solid and actually done pretty well wide received. WI sure,
(12:45):
but I think he's since he's the primary guy, they
might just feed him the rock this week.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
That's the thing is because it's a half point PPR,
Chris O. Lave is going to have more catches than
Jordan Edison. Jordan and Edison may have three catches for
one hundred and twenty yards and a touchdown. That's how
that's kind of how his numbers look. You know where
where Justin Jefferson right now is the meat and potatoes guy,
and then Jordan Edison gets these big, big plays. But
(13:09):
if you're looking for catches, I think A Lave is
gonna have more catches. So I would probably give the
slight edge to a lave. Yeah, and that one final
question says been choosing wrong all season. This is just
what you were talking about as who to start at quarterback.
I have both Matt Stafford and Drake May. Who should
I go with this week? The Rams are playing the
(13:30):
forty nine ers, Pats are playing Tampa Bay.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
That's easy for me. That's going to be on one
of my starts. Oh, I'm definitely taking Drake May.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
I've been high on them all year, my kids. I
didn't draft them any of my teams, but I kept
saying there's something about this guy. And just Rabele going
to New England. I just liked New England being a
bounce back team. They have some decent talent. It's not
the most like star studded, but that's kind of going
back to the old days of Bill Belichick and how.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
He had dodge it right.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Yeah, Drake May has a lot of athleticism. He say
he's done for multiple touchdowns I think and multiple Teschi
was the last four weeks straight.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
But look what Stafford's doing though. Stafford has been throwing
four or five touchdowns every week.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
But what they could do there is he could always
hit the emergency Brake and then go Kyra and Williams
and just pound the rock with him a hundreds two.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
So here's the thing that gives me the slight pause
on Stafford this week, Nomber, when you're taking the Niners,
who I get there banged up. They have a lot
of issues on their defense, but they're still gonna show
up and they have the Rams number. They honestly do.
Kyle Shanaham seems to beat the Rams every single time
they play, and so I got a little bit concerned
to that. And Pooka Pooka's health. I'm not sure he's
(14:34):
gonna play again. Another injury. That scares me off of
Stafford a little bit. And so you know that Tampa
Bay matchups really tough for the Pats. Though. If the
Pats have any hope of winning that game, Drake May
is gonna have to have a big game. And so
I am kind of to me it's a coin flip
I get while you're having so many issues picking every week,
(14:54):
because that's tough. I honestly I'd give maybe a slight
edge to Drake May, but just a slight one.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
And the other part of it is I just think
that San Francisco is gonna you know, the way that
their defense is. They've lost some thumpers, right, So Mourner gone,
Bosa gun. I mean, so, I just think the Rams
are gonna be able to run the ball and move
the chains a little bit more. I don't know if
it's gonna be. Yeah, Stafford having to go four hundred
plus yards and DeVante Adams has been a good guy
scoring touchdowns for him, but not a guy that's gonna
(15:23):
be like he used to be, where he's gonna be
able stretch the field is offen So you lose if
Puka can't play, it changes the dynamic. But then that's
where they go back to maybe more efficient football, And
then I would give the edge to the running game
there for the Rams rather than him stretching it. So
I'm definitely leaning towards Drake Man.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Yeah, maybe keep your eye on whether or not Puka
plays because that could help the Rams quite a bit obviously.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Well, if he doesn't play, then I would definitely say
Drake Many.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah, I tend to agree. All right, let's get to
our starts and sits for the week. At quarterback, b
dub who's your start? Well, I'm gonna say, Drake Man,
I think you give it away. Yeah, Tampa Bay's nineteenth
against the pass.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I talked about it before multiple touchdowns in four straight weeks.
I just like his moxie coming out of Duke. You
know a lot of people wanted to just kind of
knock the big moxie guy. Yeah, there's just a lot
about that moxie. Well, he handles himself in a way
that it kind of makes you think this guy has
a little something. He's not overly cocky by any means.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
He's kind of in the MVP conversation. I honestly, I
think he is that good.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
And you but you look around him too, and he's like,
you know, was it Boute or you know bute Yead
Diggs who's now coming back again, who is a Pro
Bowl wide receiver. At one point, they got a couple
guys running backs. Hunter Henry's solid as a rock. I
think that's a solid offense right now. But he's the
conduit and and definitely he's a guy i'm leaning to
this week against Tampa Bay, who's kind of nicked up
as well.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Okay, my start this week, uh, you know, thora would
really have my head on this one. You know how
personal he feels about Daniel Jones. But Daniel Jones, he
came back down to earth last week against the Steelers,
had a really horrible game. But I still believe in
the Colts. I still think if you look top to
bottom at that Colts lineup, they have one of the
best offensive lines in football. They have the best running
(16:58):
back in football right now in John Than Taylor. Their
wide receivers are pretty good. With Michael Pittman. You got
all those just downs, all these different guys out of Pierce,
So they're good. They're a good offense. They just had
a bad game. That had a bad game. The Steelers
have their number. I think he comes back has a
better week this week against the Falcons. The Falcons to me,
are the most confounding team in football. One week they're great,
(17:19):
next week they're the worst team in football. Yeah, and
so I can never figure them out. I think this
is a week where Daniel Jones gets right and has
a big game.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
So I like Daniel Jae interesting because he could run
him over to which makes him a little special. Because
Atlanta's pass defense is one of the best in the NFL.
That's why I think Jonathan Taylor will go off for
me good Falcons.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Yeah, for sure. Who's your sit at quarterback?
Speaker 3 (17:39):
My sid? I will And this is a little interesting
because I've seen a couple of things where he was
definitely a start, but now seeing Alt out, Slater out,
You're playing the Steelers justin Herbert, I definitely, I mean
it could be a tough one. He's a guy that,
if they keep finding a way to win, should be
in the MVP can category.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
You know I'm winning because of him.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Yeah, I am not a Charger life long Charger fan anymore,
Like that's not who I am. But that quarterback catches
way too much shape special and knowing that both your
tackles are out and he's just getting rocked. I think
he's been hit the most of any quarterback in the
NFL this year.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
He's down two running backs.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
You know, have you seen the list of players out
from the Charge. It's ridiculous. I mean, it's just it's endless.
And I do think right now they made a trade
for Penning, who at least has some experienced former first
rounder with the Saints. They're gonna put him at one
of the tackle positions. They're gonna move if Beckton's healthy,
they're going to move one of them out to the
other tackle position. I would be nervous, though. The Steelers
are gonna lick their chops. You saw what they did
(18:33):
against Daniel Jones in Indianapolis. Could be a lot of
sacks for Pittsburgh. So to me, I would say, justin Herbert,
this is not his week.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
My sit this week is a guy who just came
back last week looked fantastic. But let's pump the brakes
on JJ McCarthy. I just don't know yet, Like, you
got to show me more than just one good week,
because that's what we saw. Remember he had the opening
week where he had like three quarters of bad football
and then came back at a great fourth quarter, they
won the game. Then he got hurt. Yeah, and so
then we haven't seen him again. So last week he
(19:02):
comes back, has a big game. Great show it to me.
Two weeks in a row and you're taking out Baltimore.
Who again, Baltimore is They're making trades, they're making moves,
they're getting guys back who were injured. They're going to
start to make their run. Baltimore is good, and I
know they haven't looked good. I know they've had their issues,
but they got Lamar back, they got guys on defense back,
They've made some trades. I think that they actually win
(19:25):
that game against the Vikings.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Well, Lamar back made Henry relevant again, so they didn't
just load the box because you know, he could actually
have a little bit more of a scramble, better throw
capability than Hunley. And the offense being better for Baltimore
makes their defense better, right, because I just think the
defense has been like out it has been, but they're
off the field so much because Baltimore controls the ball.
I'm with you. JJ McCarthy is my youngest eason said
(19:47):
he's looked the worst in the league and the best
in the league in the same season so far, the
same game. And yeah, you know this is crazy. I
mean after that first game, I was like, oh, he's
not ready. He could have steened college another year. Then
he came back and bounced back. So I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, he's my sid running back. Who's your start?
Speaker 3 (20:02):
This is to me, hottest running back in the NFL.
Rico dabble. I mean, dude, six hundred and fifty two
yards three TV's the last five games he's going against
New Orleans. They going up the fourth most points to
running backs this year. He's kind of said, I don't
need ja.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
He single handlely won that game for him last week.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
And then called out Dallas and then went off against
Dallas like called his shot its former teams. He's been
impressive and honestly, I want Carolina to be relevant everyone.
Like you know Bryce Young, he doesn't look the strongest.
He looks kind of small out there. I want him
to be better. I want them because everyone they just
sucked for so long. I think he's kind of giving
them a little bit of swagger and I want Carolina
(20:39):
to be better.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
That makes sense. My start this week is a guy
who is a rookie and he's starting to figure it out,
and the Broncos are starting to figure out how to
use r J. Harvey. So you obviously came out of
the gate and it was all the JK. Dobbins Show,
and he's been fantastic for most of the season. But
as you've been seeing the last couple of weeks, guess
(21:00):
who's finding the end zone yes passing game. Guess who's
getting more involved in the passing game. It's R. J.
Harvey and you're taking on a Raider team this week
who almost is giving up, who almost are like laying
down and going like we just we don't have it,
and it is what it is. And you see, you know,
they had a chance to win the game or at
least tie the game last week, or no win it.
(21:22):
They were going in for the win for the two
point conversion didn't happen. That kind of stuff just deflates you.
It just kills you. If you hit it, it's incredible,
but if you don't, now you're you're in big trouble here.
And you're taking on a Broncos team who is really
hitting their stride right now, and they're starting to really
utilize r. J. Harvey. So he's kind of my sneaky
start there for this week. Who's your sit?
Speaker 3 (21:41):
I kind of went easy. This is a no brainer,
Breeste Hall. He's taken on Cleveland. Cleveland's defense the second
toughest against the running backs. They just got rid of
two of their best players on defense, so it's gonna
make it that much harder.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
It's quit.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Yeah, and right now with the Jets, you know, I
have no confidence and fields whatsoever. So to me, Aaron
Glenny's gonna be a one and done in my opinion
as a head coach, I just it doesn't. He did
a phenomenal job of the defense in Detroit, but they
just don't look like they're organized. They look like a
team that was just Hey, everyone show up and we're
gonna go figure it out. And Breese Hall is a
(22:14):
guy that don't. I don't think he'll be back in
New York next year either. When his contracts.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah, I was surprised they didn't move him, right, you
have to trade deadline because everybody was talking about him
getting traded. I think fantasy owners were hoping he would
get traded, but it didn't end up happening. So yeah,
it's gonna be tough for him the rest of the way.
My sit this week is gonna be Travis Etien Junior
taking on again a fantastic defense in the Houston Texans.
They have been shutting down running backs left and right.
(22:39):
If Jacksonville has a chance in this game, I think
it is on Trevor Lawrence. You know, they're adding weapons
with Jacoby Myers and things like that. It's gonna have
to be the passing game because I do not think
they're gonna run the football in Houston, so Travis at
and again, he's been up and down all season two absolute,
so I'm not really sure what you're gonna get anyway.
And he's never lived up to that rookie year. No,
he had that one good year. Yeah, and that was
sort of it. So yeah, he my sid wide receiver.
(23:01):
Who's your start?
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Well, this is where I'm channeling my inner thor, which
is actually scary and disturbing at the same time. I
had originally a love with the shaheat out thing. He's
gonna get more touches. I kind of got off that
just because I'm like, it's still the Saints. I'm going
Wayne Dale Robinson, Oh wow. And the reason why is
they're playing the Bears, and the Bears secondary sucks. I
mean they've given up I think they're twenty fifth against
(23:22):
the past. They've given up twenty TVs already. He definitely
perked up right now. Yeah, exactly, twenty tds, twenty tds.
They've given up reready through the air. I mean we're
going into Week ten, so to me, teams throw on
them that.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Jackson Dart has been really good.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
He has.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
I don't want to say this too loud because I
don't want I don't.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Well I do. I want him to be like built
up and then let them you know. But I like Dart.
He's got something different in Oxy yeah than that kid's got.
Jaymon Jones is more of a contemporary, like vager, cerebral
guy that like people wanted him to be. Jackson Dart. Different.
Jackson Dart is like he's wearing like a headband around his.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Neck and he's just got the Anakin Skywalker stuff. Gone.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Guy probably just crushed when he was in high school
with all the hot chicks. I mean, he just and
then in college you went the old miss and he
just probably just completely he was just the man. He's
just got that kind of aura about him.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
So he's just get sling it.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
He does.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
So Wanda Lewson could be the beneficiary and we'll see
my start this week again. You saw them trying to
figure this out. They have been talking about getting Jamison
Williams more involved with the Lions offense and they did,
you know, he found the end zone last week and
you know it's not just gonna be the aman Rossi
and Brown show anymore. They said they're gonna get Jamison
(24:32):
Williams way more involved. You're taking on again a Washington
Commander team that's got to be deflated. You know, you
lose your starting quarterback again and probably for the rest
of the year. Defensively, they have not looked very good
all season long. I think the Lions are gonna be
probably pretty angry. They're gonna be coming off a tough
game and they're gonna go out there and they're gonna
put it on them. I think they think they're gonna
(24:53):
score a lot of points.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
The Lions lose both their coordinators, right Ben Johnson bounces
to Chicago. They're they've been working through I mean, Gibbs
the one game had like four points. I mean, he
just wasn't on. They're starting to figure it out, and
I think that's why he comes out, I mean, get
Jamison more involved now, feeling more comfortable. Golf is a
beyond serviceable quarterback.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
He's very good.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
He's definitely kind of that upper you know, third probably
of the NFL, and you look at his points and
you're like, damn, but he's never that guy. And he's
such a.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Good running game. They do so it's like you got
to feed a lot of mouths with that Lion's offense though,
so I do think Jamison Williams is going to have
a big light this week. Who's your set?
Speaker 3 (25:31):
I have a Khalil shakure and that he's had two
ten point weeks in a row. But he's going against
the Miami the fourth against the pass and are they
really I really think that The main reason is I
think that Buffalo just come out and run the crap
out of the ball and then he won't have to
throw and not just seems cook you benefit as well.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Josh Allen.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I mean, did you see that stat? I think he's
right now he just passed Earl Campbell for rushing touchdowns. Crazy,
that's insane, insane. He's like, is he even halfway? Is
even at the apex of his not?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
I don't know. I don't know, to be honest.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
I mean, he might be the all time rushing rushdown leader,
and if he keeps on being quarterback for the rest
of his career, I mean, like he's just so big, he's.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
And if you only got to go a yard, why
wouldn't you run him?
Speaker 3 (26:14):
We were talking last night, Hazin are talking and we
were like, going, how many how does a quarterback have
that many touchdown rushing and it feels like he's only
been in the league for five or six years.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
No, he's been. He's been phenomenal. So yeah, they may
be a running day for sure. My sid is gonna
maybe a little bit of a surprise coming off the
game he just had. But again, you gotta show me
more than just one good game before I trust you.
And I'm talking about Marvin Harrison Junior. So, Marvin Harrison Junior,
very good game. You just had. Jacoby Brissett clearly probably
(26:46):
a better passing quarterback than Kyler Murray is. And so
that's great, fantastic. I'm glad you had a good game
because I kind of like Marvin Harrison Junior. You kind
of want him to play a little bit better. Yeah,
he hasn't been. But let's recognize matchups you're now taking
on the Seahawks. The Seahawks are gonna shut down the Cardinals.
I wouldn't be surprised that they shut out the Cardinals.
And don't get it twisted like Jacoby Brissett all of
(27:08):
a sudden's a good quarterback, He's not. He had a
pretty good game this past Monday night against Dallas and
Marvin Harrison was a big part of that. But you're
taking on a different team. This isn't leads in a
boom Seattle. But they're very good defense.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Yeah, but Jacoby Brissett makes McBride better. He makes Marvin
Harrison better because he plays the quarterback position, whereas I
think Cala Murray tries to do too much and then
gets outside the tackles run around. It puts too much
pressure on the rest of the offense. I mean not
to mention when you come off the sideline you have
an e walk over in the corner that looks like
mad at the world. His body language sucks.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
When he's playing Call of Duty over there, like what
are you doing?
Speaker 3 (27:41):
His smush face? You're like, dude, come on, you know
he's thinking like I could a gun and played baseball.
I wonder if I'd be better. No, dude, you're still
five eight or whatever you are. The reality is, Marvin
Harrison is a extremely good talent. You've now seen it
come a couple of games. Now with Jacoby Brissett, we'll
see you understand the rationals. I don't understand. They are
playing Seattle and if you would have done if you
would have done defense. They were my defense for sure.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah. This week, all right, let's get to tight end
your favorite position? Who is your start?
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Well? This is right now. I mean is there a
more talked about tight end in the NFL than a
Rondez Gadston.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Too, that came out of nowhere?
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Fifth round pick the guy just now, the starter?
Speaker 1 (28:18):
I mean four picked him up and he's been talking.
Is it you know, talking him up? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
The only reason why you know, Disney's on the team
because he gets holding calls. I mean, he was supposed
to be the starter. Looking here, pirates or pirates Pittsburgh
Steelers thirtieth in the NFL against tight ends, Oh, thirtieth.
Gaston's become a primary receiver. It's taken the pressure off
of obviously McConkie. It's taken off the pressure of you know,
obviously Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnson was heard. He's back. It
(28:44):
makes them a lot, a lot more dangerous. Plus, it's
that underneath stuff. And I think he's gonna have to
do that this week against Pittsburgh because he's not gonna
have the time to set up knowing you got, you know,
one of the watt brothers coming off the edge.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
I mean has been internal clocks and Heisman too. It's
like they're they should be better. Yeah, as we're in
stood it. Of course I dropped the Steelers defense the week.
I've been held on to them all year long, going
come on, they got to be better, and then I
drop them, and of course they have this crazy game
against the Colts. But whatever my start this week. I
understood your rationale about the Bills, but if you've been
(29:16):
watching the Bills games as of late, they're starting to
finally utilize their tight ends and Dalton Kincaid has been
the beneficiary of that. Josh Allen is actually finally utilizing them.
You know, they have these great tight ends and you
go kind of always wonder where are they, Like, why
don't they throw it to the tight ends more often?
You know, they their wide receiver group is kind of suspect.
(29:37):
Kean Coleman, he hasn't really lived up to anything. Khalil
Shaker can have it some decent games, but honestly, they
should be utilizing their tight ends a lot more so.
I like Dalton Kincaid against Miami this week, and I
think if anything, those dump off passes whatever I think
that's that's.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Why it goes back to everything we're talking about before. Absolutely,
all right, who's your sit This is gonna surprise you,
But I say, Tyler Warren, and the reason why is
if you look at Atlanta again, they're only giving up
two point one to three catches and twenty two yards
to tight ends on average for the year. They threw
up a goose egg against Kittle when he came back.
I mean, they've they've played good tight ends this year
(30:12):
and they've actually shut the tight ends out. Now it's surprise,
it's twofold. It's because they get they give up some
of the yards on the ground. They're not having to
go to the tight ends as much. Their their secondary
and tight end pass defense has been good, but they're
so vulnerable to the run, and that's gonna be the
reason why I think the Colts going back to what
he said, but Danny Dimes, I think they're gonna literally
go back. They're going to just control the point of attack.
(30:33):
They have the best player in the NFL on that team,
and that is like my favorite player, number fifty six,
Quentin Nelson for the Indianapolis Colts. He's my favorite player,
favorite player guard. If I had a jersey today, I
would buy number fifty six for the Colts. Watch him play.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Oh, he's the best guard. I get that.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
It reminds me of Chris Dielman when he was in
San Diego. Arguably the toughest. He's just he's a I mean,
I like Seowol. I like a lot of these guys do.
That guy is though fierce nails. I only watched Lineman
a lot of times. Anyway, It's just a habit. I
watch him NonStop. He just punishes whoever he.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Gets without a doubt. My sit this week is the
guy that was getting a little bit of play for
a little bit of time. I don't see it happening
this week. I'm talking about Mason Taylor from the Jets. Again.
He was a guy. I know, he was a guy.
He was starting to get some run. He was getting
some ads because he caught a touchdown here and there,
and people thought, you know, oh, maybe he's the guy. No,
(31:26):
and especially taking on Cleveland, nobody trusts the Jets anymore.
I just don't think that that's a why start at
this point anymore.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Yeah, I mean I wouldn't even if Garrett Wilson was
one hundred percent and he was great. I still wouldn't
even take Garrett Wilson this week. The only person that
I think will pobab and again I'm be shown wrong,
but would be Fields because he'll run the ball fields
should be a running back.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Well, when Garrett Wilson was in there, he was putting
up numbers and so you know, somehow whoever was their
quarterback at the time, they would find him and he
was doing okay. But but he's still banged up, and
so I don't even know if he's gonna play or not.
So it's gonna be tricky either way. Don't trust any jet.
That's that's my biggest piece of advice I think.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
You know, aside from Jamar, Chase and Higgins, you look
at the Cincinnati Bengals two right now as a team.
If you're they've scored the most points the last five weeks,
and it's Joe Flacco. Yeah, and so right now he's
making Chase Brown relevant because I had Chase Brown on
my team.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Well, remember T Higgins for the past first whatever how
many games was was non existent, right and now he's
a top tier guy.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
So I would look at when you're looking at you know,
acquisitions and different stuff out there. That's a team right
now that's scoring points. That's probably the only reason why
Zach Taylor is even still coaching that team employed. Yeah,
I mean, you lose Burrow. They figured out Browning cannot
play at the NFL levels as a starter. He could
be a backup, but he just can't play as a backup.
And then they bring in Flacco and all of a sudden,
they're now clicking and they've scored the fifth i mean,
the most points on spot.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Not winning games, but great for fantasy.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
There's the only team going back to like nineteen sixty
something that's given up the combined or they've scored a
combined eighty points in two games and lost both games.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Dang, what a stat.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Eighty points in two games.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
That's why beat ups here, ladies and John random stats. Yeah,
there you go. All right, those are your starts and
sits for the week. Hopefully you go out there and
get a win.
