Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, well, well, look who has returned, the big Daddy,
the big big Daddy cool over here, look at him.
That's right, Thor is back from paternity leaves. So this
is very interesting. I have to think b Dub for
filling in for you for the past three weeks. That
was pretty wild. Okay, he's still talking about wont shut up,
(00:24):
You won't shut up. So yes, we have to catch
up and see what's going on in Thor's three leagues.
In this week's edition of Fantasy Freaking Football, It's.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Time to review your fantasy team.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Commissioners, It's time for Fantasy freaking football. What a week
to return. Thor and I played again each other this week,
this past weekend and our friends league. And this is
the league where I finished in dead last last year,
(01:01):
and I have gone from worst to first. Four has
gone from first to worst. It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I started out and the first time we played each
other was Week one and I lost by point zero
point zero four, less than point one.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
One of the greatest wins of my life.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
And it doomed my whole season.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
It really did, because after that, Joe Burrow got hurt,
Black Bauers got hurt, the lak neighbors got hurt, blaming Naja.
Harris got hurt me Hookah got hurt by first eight
of my first nine picks got hurt and didn't play
for like four weeks in a row, and I couldn't win.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
You were screwed.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I got screwed, and no, even my backups were hurt.
It was crazy. Now some guys are back, but.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, your team's better now.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Yeah, because some guys got back.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
You finally got some wins. But again I had to
put the beat down on you again this week. I
don't know, I wasn't point zero zero four this time,
but I beat you by like ten or whatever, and
so swept the season.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Swept the season.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
So now and that if I win this week and
a guy loses and I score like fifty more points
than him, I don't come in last.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
It's a lot. It's asking a lot.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
And Week fourteen sucks because there's like six teams with buys,
so it's like a lot of my teams, a lot
of my guys are on buys.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
So I'm screwed.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Got to be prepared for that. So uh, in that league,
I am in first place and have clinched a playoff spot,
and so yeah, it is. It is great. It's a
great feeling, you know, to be in that spot. So
I feel great about that one. What's going on in
your other two leagues?
Speaker 2 (02:32):
So my other two leagues the one league that I'm
in where it was a fun league, but then they
decided we're upping the anti to more money, Like yeah,
I voted no, they all voted yes. So in that league,
I'm in third, clinched to playoff spot. But here's the deal.
So I clinched last week. But in that league I
have I'm on Ross Saint Brown and Drake London. Oh,
(02:52):
so both those guys are hurt now. Luckily I clinched
because neither guy looks like they're going.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
To play this week. So my whole definitely, So he's definitely.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
My whole is next week at least Drake London comes back,
but I don't know because I've read that they're gonna
be cautus with him if they keep losing, which is stupid,
like doesn't the guy I want to play the last
couple of games of the year, so I'm hoping this
will be his third game out, So I'm hoping he
comes back.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Because you want to make some noise in the playoff.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
I want to make some noise in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
And if I, if I win this week, I have
a shot at a buye. A bye would be incredible.
A bye is everything in fantasy. Get you today, because
then we have to win two games GA win the championship.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
And then in our work league, I clenched. I'm in fourth,
and we don't do buys, so I just I'm clenched.
I'm in We do make you pay for transactions though,
and I don't. My defense is not a buye this
week because I'm just not going to do anything because.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Oh I don't need to.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I'm not gonna waste one of those guys.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
I'm not gonna waste money.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Uh yeah, And that lee. In our work league, I
was struggling last. I was in dead last for the
longest time. And then I've I've made a comeback. I've
again had some injuries, but guys are coming back and
things like that, and so in that league, I have
jumped all the way up to sixth, and so I
am in the playoffs. If the season we're to end
right now, but it's not guaranteed, so I still got
(04:03):
to keep winning.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yeah. In our work league, it's the most log jammed
I've ever seen it. No one ran away. Everyone's within
a game of each other. I've never seen anything like that.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
It's pretty crazy.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
It's a weird year in the NFL a little bit.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Uh. And then my my OG league, I'm in third place,
and so that one, though we play all the way throughout, it.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Is the weird like you redraft every playoff game.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, it is kind of the most bizarre thing of
all time. But it's the league I've been in the longest,
so I'm still in it. And so uh, that league,
I'm still doing pretty well and feeling good. So overall
pretty good. My three leagues i'm doing. I'm basically in
the playoff spot. In all three leagues you are clenched
in two and then in dead last.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
So luckily, though in our dead last league we did,
we couldn't agree on a punishment this year, so I'm kind.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Which is crazy. You gott this.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I'm really lucky about.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
It sucks, though, because it does suck to go from
first to worst because I talked a lot of crap
in the draft and.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Now the Belt around acting like I really want to
Stone Steve Austin or something. Yeah, I really want to
come kicking the door down. Uh. So, as we're gearing
up getting ready for your playoff push, you can ask
us anything you want, hit us up on X at
the show Eddie at the show Thoor, or you can
email us your questions every week and we'll try to
(05:19):
get to them. Let's go ahead and dive right in.
This is a wide receiver question with a playoff spot
on the line, So this is a big deal. Who
should he start? Michael Wilson or Alec Pearce.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Dude, I do have a playoff spot.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
I know those two guys call me. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Jacoby Brissette is on a crazy fantasy run right now,
and I know they're playing the Rams, but that game
may be a blowout fast Brissett maybe slinging it. I
would start Wilson. I honestly would, because I think they're
gonna sling it. The guy's been they have no running game. Yeah,
presets average like twenty points a game.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
It's insane. So I would go Wilson, especially if it's PPR,
because Michael Wilson has been the recipient of all those catches.
You know, I do think Marmon Harrison Junior is coming
back this week, so that may affect it a little bit. Maybe. Yeah,
Alec Pearce is too hot and cold. Sometimes he really is,
because he'll catch a fifty yard touchdown pass and then
(06:15):
the next week gets zero.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
He's got a third quarterback throwing in the football here.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
They haven't lost force one and three in their last four. Well,
you said that the other day.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
I went, okay, so I would never start any.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Well, I mean, you're getting a little ridiculous. Here. Is
the thing, though, is that Michael Pittman Junior. He's been
absent the last couple of games, and so you got
to imagine at some point they're going to start feeding
him the ball a little bit more. And so there's
a lot of mouth.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
To win, yeah, because I mean they if they lose
this game and the Texans win, I think they're out
of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
The cults.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, well, I mean Jaguars right now are in first place.
The Colts are still in the playoff spot, but if
Houston wins, then they're.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Going to flip flop, which is crazy because the Colts
gave up two ones for saut Gardner.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Then he got hurt and not great.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
You don't need to laugh at that. Okay, you just
date the gold Oh you hate Daniel Jones hate. The
next question is who shore do you start in the
flex position between Jordan Mason and Michael Pittman this week. Now,
here's the thing about Jordan Mason is that the the
offense has gone completely downhill. Uh. Obviously, you know there's
(07:23):
a lot of a lot of factors with the Vikings offense.
They have no quarterbacks, they have no quarterback. But ever
since Aaron Jones has come back, I don't know if
you've noticed, their running game has been atrocious. And so
it's like, I don't understand why you benched Jordan Mason
for an aging veteran. I'm not saying Aaron Jones is washed,
but but Jordan Mason is good. Yeah, and he's younger,
(07:44):
and so I think they're gonna start utilizing Jordan Mason Moore.
You got to recognize that. And Aaron Jones is banged
up as well. So I actually think this week is
a great week to start Jordan Mason. Michael Pittman, like
you just said, the last two weeks, he's been non existent,
I think he's had like a couple of catch Yeah,
so it's not great.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
When like you were saying, Aaron Jones is banged up.
Who knows how many touches is you gonna get if
he even plays? So yeah, I go I agree with you,
Eddie Jordan, I like Jordan Mason.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
This week the final question says, got a wide receiver
situation Justin Jefferson, George Pickens, and Ladd McConkie. This is
the only league I'm in the playoffs and I had
all see I had Ladd on my bench all season.
I'm concerned though about Justin Jefferson's quarterback situation, and I'm
thinking about switching them out Lad for Justin Jefferson. What
(08:29):
do you guys think?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Oh man, it just depends on.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
It's such a tough thing to sit your number one pick.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
If McCarthy plays, I mean, he should get Jefferson a catch.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
But also here's the deal though, I mean, the Chargers
are playing the Eagles and Trey Lance maybe the guy, right,
do you really want to start Trey Lance?
Speaker 1 (08:48):
That's the problems. That's the problem, and.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I know it's in LA, but there's gonna be so
many Eagle fans there. I don't trust Trey Lance and
the Eagles getting the ball to Lad McConkey. So you're
gonna kill yourself if if Justin Jefferson goes off and
he was on your bench, like, you're never gonna forgive yourself.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah, that's I always say this, and I've said this.
If you listen to the show for a long time,
say go with your guys. You gotta go with your guys.
You got to stick with your guys even though it
might hurts you in the end. I get it. Justin
Jefferson has not lived up to a number one draft pick.
It's not his fault. I mean, he has no quarterback
throwing him the ball. And if that other guy that
plays for he.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Was that the greatest pick six you've ever seen?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
What the heck? Who is that guy? Obviously Pickens is in.
I'm gonna stick with Justin Jefferson until the end and
just hope for the best. I just can't do Lad
mcconky with possibly not as weird as Romeo Dobbs. No,
I can't look at it well.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
These Romeo Dobbs has the like the Guardian Counta.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
The Conky's is just a big.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Hey, listen, I gotta stick up for big headed guys.
You know I got a big old noggin, so I
can't say anything about that. All right, Let's get to
our starts and sits for the week. At quarterback, who's
you start?
Speaker 2 (10:01):
This isn't this one? The guy played his worst game
of the year last week. He threw uh two picks
and a fumble, But he's coming back. Matt Stafford is
going to light up Arizona this week. That the they're
gonna make up for it right now. He's kinda is
Is he the MVP leader now or is it Drake May?
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Drake May after his performance the Giants, Yeah, I think
he's the leader league house.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
So Matt Stafford needs a big game. He'll he'll do it.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
My start this week is a guy who's definitely not
lived up to his billing. He was probably either the
second or third quarterback taken in your fantasy league. He's
been hurt. The team hasn't been playing well, but this
is the week for Lamar Jackson. I think we're going
to see a big game with Lamar against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh's
defense has been a trocy. They cannot stop anybody.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Mike Tom the Giant should hire I don't get take
it easy.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Literally, the Bills were running the same play over and
over and over and they couldn't stop him. So I
gotta imagine that Derek Henry's gonna go off. And if
you finally have been waiting for Lamar to have a
big game rushing, this may be it. So I imagine
Lamar Jackson is gonna find the end zone with his
legs this week against Pittsburgh. I like Lamar this week.
Who's your sit?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
My sit this week is a guy who went off
on Thanksgiving, but he is so inconsistent. I know Danie
Olofsky likes to say he's an elite quarterback. I don't
see it. Jordan Love, he's at home. I get it,
but he's going against the Bears. People don't want to
buy Itno, the Bears. The Bears are for real season.
They're a good team. They just blew out their Their
run game's crazy good. They're a great team. I will
(11:35):
sit Jordan Love this week. He's just too up and down.
I'm not starting him.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
We said it, well, you're gonna probably appreciate this one
because my sit this week he is a guy who's
had a very big bounce back fantasy year, but I
don't like him. This week I am talking about the savior.
Patrick Mahomes. Ah, sorry, man, Patrick Mahomes. That that Chiefs
game they're taking on Houston, Houston's defense is the top
(12:00):
in the league.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I listened to his law sports radio and one of
the guys I really respect says that he thought if
he thought the Chiefs could win out like a month ago,
and I'm like, that's insane.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
I don't think they're gonna beat the Chiefs. I don't
think they could.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Beat the Cowboys. Sorry, I don't think the Texans. I
don't think the Chiefs can beat the Texans. Don't think
they could bet the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
The Texans. If C J.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Stroud where the CZ Stroud he was his rookie year,
they'd be the super Bowl leader because their defense is phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
It's a lead.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
But he just asn't playing one. But the Texans should
put should should just stop him.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Well, we were just sitting here looking at the Chiefs,
and you go, this isn't the Chiefs of old. Man.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
I know, people after a win like to think they are,
but you're right.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
I just don't see it this week. And if they
lose this game.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
All they're done.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Stick a fork in them, and so the Houston's gonna
come out firing. I think they're gonna shut down Patrick
Mahomes and I like Houston loves me. I love it
running back. Who's your start?
Speaker 2 (12:52):
My start is a guy who I almost didn't start
him in fantasy because I heard that he was gonna
get like a limited role. You weren't sure, but Bucky
Irvin is just so much better than Rashid White and
Sean Tucker.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
You just see it when he's on the field. He's
just better.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
So they're playing the Saints, you would assume that they
need this w they need this week. He didn't even
look hurt last week, didn't even look hurt, and he
looks just better than the other two guys.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
So I assume Bucky irvans back man again all the counts.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Obviously, my start this week is a guy we were
just talking about, and for all the reasons why I
said Jordan Mason, I actually like Jordan Mason a lot.
This week, again, you're taking on a commander's defense who
can't stop the run. So if the Vikings have any shot.
Obviously they're not throwing the football, and so you got
to figure out your run game. You gotta lean on
Jordan Mason this week. I like him a lot into
(13:38):
my start. Who's your sid B sit.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Is a guy that you kind of called it.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
You were a year early on this, Kenneth Walker, because
remember last year you were all about, what's his name is,
Zach Sharbondach Sharperney, and he was okay, but I haven't.
But you have him, and this year, Sharperne, he's getting
all the touchdowns. Kenneth Walker hasn't not a touchdown in weeks.
I don't think he's broke twelve points in Fantasy all year.
So I would sit Kenneth Walker. I know they're out Atlanta,
but I'd sit.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Him all right. My sit this week is a guy
I'm I'm mentioning as my sit almost every week because
I'm so disappointed in his rookie year, Ashton Genty, Like man,
I just expected so much more.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
They're garbage.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
They're all garbage. I mean that entire Raiders offense is garbage.
And you're taking on Denver, who is maybe the second
or maybe the best defense in the league. So I
gotta imagine all you got to do is shut down
Genty and go all right, Gino you you know Smith,
you beat me. Yeah, and so that's what every team
is doing. That's what they're doing. Yeah and so yeah,
I don't like Ashton Genty this week against the Broncos
wide receiver, who's your starting?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
My wide receiver is a guy who came out of
the gate last year hot, but he's always does his
one thing, run fast if you're worthy. I'm sitting in
against the Texans. He doesn't do much for their office.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Start.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Oh my start. I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I'm like, wait, we're going to sit already. I'm an idiot.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah, no, I know a race. What I just said?
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Out of your mind?
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Okay, my start?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Jamison annoying against the Cowboys. I know they don't have
They're probably not going to have more likely what's his?
Speaker 3 (15:00):
A brown?
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Cowboys defense is playing better Sam Laporta. But James Williams
is gonna be the guy. And the Lions need this game,
I think, maybe even more than the Cowboys game, but.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Most of them. Yeah, I like that James Williams start.
My start is a guy again, a massive disappointment, up
and down, not been great. Who's the number one there
now that Keon Coleman's back, I don't know, But I
do like Khalil here this week. I totally get it.
But on Sunday, think about who they're playing the worst
(15:31):
pass defense in the league, the Cincinnati Bengals, And so
if there is a week that Shakir has a good game,
it's got to be this.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
So here's the you're right, But what scares me is
have the Bengals turned a corner because Joe Burrow?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
I know you want to believe that because you like Joe.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Burrow, I think they're making the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
You're You're out of your hole. You're crazy, You're crazy. No,
I like Kaliekir this week. Who's so I already know
your cit.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Isot I gainst the Texans tell me about how fast
he is. He's really fast, but he doesn't not really
the great right rounder.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Have you noticed this about Mahomes?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
He never throws a good depot anymore. It's always like
five yards over the Isn't that crazy?
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Remember how perfect his.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Deep ball was? He's been pretty good this year. He's
been pretty good this year. Honestly, I okay my sit
this week. Again, I'm too sketched out of what's going
on with Justin Herbert and if Trey Lance is in there.
I don't like Keenan Allen this week taking on the Eagles.
But again, both of these teams are in that spot
where they kind of have to win, so I'm really
(16:36):
interested in the game. But Who's who's gonna be quarterback?
Are you gonna throw Justin Herbert out there? Is he?
You know this hand gonna affect him?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:43):
I just don't know. Because of that, it makes me uncomfortable.
So I get maybe you want to start lad McConkie,
but Keenan Allen, no thanks, I'm not doing it. Tight end,
who's your start?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
This guy, at one point in time was said to
have be the best tight end in the league. Some
people said that about him, some people said he is
gonna have the most catches in the league for ago.
I've heard I heard people say that. But this week
I would start him. And I'm talking about Darren Waller
against the Gym almost was my sit Darren Wallers. Here's
why not a lot of tight ends out there? A
(17:14):
lot of buyes and last week he should have had
another touchdown, but two overthrew him in the end zone.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
I was watching the game. I was pretty pissed. They're
playing the Jets. I think he'll watch.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
That's a terrible I had.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I have both of you.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Okay, So I start Tarren Walter my start this week
again from another terrible team, just not good. Tough they are.
But you know, he's one of those guys that was
on the waiver. He's like kind of on the waiver
wire every week because guys pick him up and the
drop him, pick him up and then drop him. I'm
talking about Jawan Johnson.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
You're gonna go Kate Aton because it could be him.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
To absolutely, but taking on Kate Aden's team Tampa Bay,
I feel like Juwan Johnson's due for one of those
games where you're like, oh yeah, I remember him and
he's gonna have a good game. Who's your sit?
Speaker 2 (17:59):
A guy that came out of the gates on fire
like a month and a half ago, and now he's
been falling off a cliff. And again, if Justin Harrit
doesn't play, I wouldn't play anybody.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Gadsden, what happened?
Speaker 1 (18:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
I started him by two weeks in a row and
it was amazing. And now he doesn't get the ball
at him.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
I know.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
So I'm sorry I'm sitting Rondez.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Yeah, I kind of agree with you. My sid is
a guy who's been up and down. He's had a
little bit better of a year than he has in
the past couple of years. But not this week. I
am talking about Kyle Pitts, who again, Kirk Cousins, I
can't believe it. He's washed, I mean completely done. The
Falcons who had a shot at the division earlier in
(18:38):
the season and now they're one of the worst teams
in football. And you're taking on Seattle, who, Man, I
did not see this coming from Seattle, and their defense
is lights out to a shutout. I think they're going
to shut down the Falcons again.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Still don't trust Sam Darnold in a big game until
he proves it. But when they play teams like the Falcons,
they ball out for sure, you know.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
So, I don't like cow pits this week. So there
you go. There's your starts and sits for the week.
Hopefully you go out there and get a win.
