Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are back. Your fantasy football best friends are back. Yes,
it is Thor and Eddie. We are back with Fantasy
freaking Football. Dude, you're seven. I can't believe you're seven. Crazy,
I know, it is pretty unbelievable. While we are gearing
up for our fantasy football drafts and we're here to
tell you who we like.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
It's time to review your fantasy team.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Here now, commissioners each time for Fantasy freaking Football, First
show of the year, First show of the year. Dude,
this is crazy. We've got through the draft of no
football god and football is back.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
It was like just yesterday it was our last show.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Well, here's what's crazy is that back to back years
you have won a fantasy football Championship's crazy. First, like,
I don't know, however many years i've played with you,
ten years plus you didn't win nothing. And then two
years in a row, two different leagues, but you have won.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
In our work league. Last year I won the league
two years ago, and then last year I won a
league that I had one before, but I went like
ten years ago, so.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
And I was I've only been in that league for
what three years? Now years?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, So it was cool that I won that, and
in our work league last season, I got to the
semis and then just I had some guys as the bed. Yeah,
that's how it happens to time. But yeah, but I
was I just anytime you make the playoffs in fantasy,
it's awesome that anytime you extend your fantasy season, it's awesome. Sure,
so I've gotten you gotta get lucky with in two ways.

(01:35):
In fantasy, your top four draft picks can't get injured,
and if they do get injured, you better have some
decent backups.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Here. Here is my biggest takeaway of when iver I
see anybody win the championship, include myself, is that it
is all about getting that crazy pick up that happens.
You know that random dude who all of a sudden
has like the biggest season ever, and you go, who
is that guy?

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I don't even know that guy, And it kind of
the same realm that you're talking hitting on a draft pick.
Like last year for me, it was Molik Neighbors. I
got him like the fifth round and he had a
monster season. I don't know who that's gonna be this year,
but like again, could again, I don't think he's gonna
be in the fifth round now getting either hitting on
somebody like that, not like that sixth round pick where

(02:18):
everyone's like what that? Where'd that come from? Right?

Speaker 1 (02:20):
You know, like like nobody knew who Nico Collins was
a couple of years that bag and then wow, yeah
who is this kid?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I had Nico Collins, Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, Malik Neighbors,
and T Higgins.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
That's what you want, Well, that's why you want crazy. Well,
you know, I remember in the draft you taking Derrick
Henry with the first pick and we're all like, dude,
you think you still has It was a risk, man,
I don't know. I was questioning it.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
And he hit a wall about like week fourteen and
I was like, oh no, and then he just the
last couple of games took a.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Dude, Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, I've I've been in the
gutter the last couple of years. I don't know what's
going on with me, but uh yeah, it depends on
which league. I've been the playoffs in the Work League,
but in our other league, I came in dead last.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, because you won the Hamlin year where we you
won that. Yeah, and then ever since then, it's kind
of been up and down.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, it's the fantasy football gods making me, you know,
pay for that or something. But yes, it's it's interesting.
I don't know how much you're looking at you know,
different fantasy you know, drafts and things like that. Yeah,
and so I've been I've been looking around and trying
to see what's been going on and trying to figure out, Okay,
well what are what are the trends that we're seeing

(03:35):
things like that, and it's kind of all over the place.
That's what's been interesting to me. Again, it depends who
you look at and who's drafting and stuff like that.
Obviously depends how you're scored and things like that. But
I don't know if there is a consensus top pick,
because I've seen it either be Saquan or Jamar Chase.

(03:56):
It's kind of one of those. Now Bijon is getting
a lot of player.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
You know. What's funny. It's remember years ago it was
running back was number one to always always. Now it's like,
well everyone's really most people play PPR. So people are
realizing receivers are the way to go. But there's so
many receivers that could be the top pick.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Absolutely, you know, I have a little bit of a
feeling that Ceedee Lamb's going to have a really big year,
and I don't. I mean again, I don't know if
he's gonna be there when I pick or I ken't, But.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I where in my mocks I keep ending up with
this guy this guy.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Now, well that's interesting because we do know in two
well I know, in two of my leagues out of
the three where I'm drafting, I don't know was your
third league? You know where you're at?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah, in two of my leagues, I know. In the
third they wait till the day of.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Same with me, which I see. I don't care. It's
actually kind of fun and like.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
And they also they upped the ante on the league
that I hate that they do this, which I was
trying to get out of it, but oh god, friends
buoyed me to stay in it. So now I care
about this league too much.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Oh geez. Uh So yeah, so in our one league
that we're in together, this is gonna get crazy because
we have back to back picks. I'm picking five, you're
picking six, and that's the one you're the defending champion game,
and so you guarantee what's gonna happen. I' gonna take
a guy you want, You're gonna take a guy I want,
and we're gonna be pissed at each other every time

(05:14):
the whole year. Yeah, and then like if I don't
get that guy and he ends up doing something terrible,
I'm like, ah, I'm so glad you it's gonna be great. Yeah, no,
just you. So we'll see what happens with that. So
if I'm in the fifth spot, I feel like there's
this can go in a lot of different directions, you know.
I'm like, do I go with a Jamir Gibbs, who

(05:35):
you know, I've seen him sort of be around that
in that five spot.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Because he took off at the end of the year.
But remember David Montgomery was hurt, right. I think Jamiir
Gibbs Bejean Robinson and are like head and shoulders above
everybody else. Got I would never I'm never gonna draft
Saque no matter what. But he also had four hundred
and twenty five touches last year.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah, which that's because this guy's never hurt, right, that's.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
So many touches, And anytime a guy has mt my touch,
they usually decline. That being said, though, what he did
last year we've never seen before from a guy who
was basically looked like he was done.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
But here's the thing. I understand what you're saying, and
you're probably right. But that being said, his offensive line
is the best in football.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
A lot of the touches he got, he didn't get touched, right,
He literally ran through these giant holes. They're so talented.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
So he's a consideration at five for me, but I
might go wide receiver. So who's like the guy that's
kind of making me nervous? Who could be there? Is
Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson makes me nervous for a lot
of reasons. Number one, just who his quarterback is. I
don't know what I'm gonna get.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
You're right with that. But also the hamstring injuries here
starting to worry me. He had a hamstring injury he
got injured two years ago, and then he had a
hamstring injury last year, and now he's had a hamstring
injury again. Because he's very skinny. He's not like Chase
or Neighbors or even Seee Lambs, a little thicker, a
little skinny, So that worries me a little bit too.
About just Jefferson.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah. So I mean again, if Ceedee Lamb is there,
I'm taking him at five. I'll tell you that right now.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Now I know not now, I know stop.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yeah, he ain't making he ain't making it to you.
He'm making to you. And six. Uh so again we'll
see what happened. Yeah, and then in our work league,
I have the six pick, so I'm kind of like
almost in the same.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Position, which what's kind of what happened to me last time.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I ended up with CD in both leagues, which could
screw me, and then you ended up with the ninth pick.
So where are you looking at at nine?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
So at nine, I'm probably gonna go running back. It
just depends so one we also do, I may because
we also do standard.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
That one's standard.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
So I last year I made the mistake, and what
screwed me was I went standard and I went running
back wide receiver and a standard league wide receiver is
just not as important. So I'm gonna go very heavy
running back. I don't know who's going to be there
at nine. I really like Ashton Genty. I think he
will be a beast. I know he's a rookie. You're
very You're not me, guy, I may take a swing

(08:03):
with Ashton genty at nine.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
If you now, what about a Christian McCaffrey, I could
be there at nine.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
I may take him at six. In my other league. Look,
because the Niners have so many receivers injured. It's literally Kittle, McCaffrey,
and pursl Or as a personal personal and that's it. So,
I mean, those three guys are gonna get a ton
of touches and carries, and I feel like until yeah,
until ikes back, but that's not gonna be for until October, right,
so you can get him a little later. But but

(08:29):
Christian McCaffrey, to me, this is his like, this is
it for him. I mean he's only he's twenty nine,
but I mean you gotta think he's got one big
year left. That's what I think.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
But also, now, what if there is a wide receiver,
a decent name that's there at nine, would you change
your strategy or you're sticking.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
With running back? Running back at nine?

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Somebody's falling t You're not gonna You're not gonna know.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Really because it's not PPR. So like give me Bucky again.
It's like Brown, Yeah, I'll take those guys, Jonathan Taylor.
For some reason, Jonathan Taylor doesn't get a lot of love.
Twelve touchdowns, four twenty yards last year. I mean, he's
a beast man.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
He's not even projected to be a first rounder. It's crazy, No,
I know. I mean, it's it's just I don't know.
The way they look at that offense too, I think
maybe hurts them a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
My goal is to not draft any cult except for
maybe one guy. Why because I hate Daniel Jones and
I hate the cults. Come on, that's why you're gonna
end up. That's why Jones. I'm probably going Jeff Jackson
Dart first.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Okay, that's that's so stupid. So yeah, we're seeing all
kinds of different things, you know, different trends going on
with your drafts out there and stuff like that. So
we'll see how our drafts goes. We'll let you know
next week what ends up happening in two of those drafts. Yeah,
it's gonna get crazy. So what we like to do
is kind of give you some sleepers to look for
in your drafts if you haven't held them yet. I

(09:47):
went back and looked at what we picked last year
as our sleepers I have them, So we ended up
both picking two different guys. I don't know, we're supposed
to pick one, but we picked two both of us.
Yours didn't workouts so well. Your sleepers, which is not
not not every league you didn't win, not every league

(10:07):
you did. So your sleeper picks last year, I'll be
honest with you, were disastrous. The first sleeper pick you
had was a guy that was coming off of an
injury that you thought he's gonna have a big rebound yere.
It was from the Broncos, Javonte Will, who had one
of the worst seasons you possibly could.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
I ended up dropping him because it was terrible.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Think. I don't know, well, you thought he was coming
back from he's going to be big Caffrey, Yeah, and
wasn't good. Then. The other pick you had was a
guy that you know, you you remember from the year before,
and he started to get some touches. You go, Okay,
maybe this guy will come come together and get his
stuff together. Uh didn't really end up happening because of
such a disastrous season that the Browns had, and you

(10:54):
went with Jerome Ford. I think he thought also because
Nick Chubb wasn't quite healthy Yeah, so you went got.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Me some games of like fourteen points.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
But I don't know, No, so's he's built.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
He wasn't built four tough.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
No, definitely not. My two picks were pretty good. They
were they weren't bad.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
So I went at wide receiver from the Lions, Jamison Williams.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah, and I think he had a good year last year,
but this is the year I think he takes.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
The next time. I agree, Yeah, I agree. So maybe
it was a little one year or too early on him,
but still he showed signs.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
He's like a fifth to seventh round pick. I feel
like this year where you can if you went running
back heavy, you can grab him and be okay.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Under the radar. Yeah. Then my other one actually was
massive for you. You took my advice because it was
a guy that was available because he wasn't drafted, but
then eventually you picked him up because you needed him.
Zach Sharbone. Yeah, from the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I mean, it's crazy that you say that you were
right about that, because every all I'm seeing this year
right now is all this new offensive coordinator for the
Seahawks and Kenneth Walker. Kenneth Walker, Kenth Walker he's already
had multiple injuries during training camp. If you draft Kenneth Walker,
that's great, but you better have Charberne on your bench.
And Sharpernay may be better. He had better stats last year.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
So yeah, so those were our sleeper picks last year.
They kind of could be sleeper picks this year too,
as far as like Jameson Williams and Zach Sharbonnay. But
I don't know. We'll see what ends up happening. But
we're always supposed to give one. So calm down.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
I got I got one, two, three, four, five, six seven.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
So okay, well we're not going through. Give me your
top sleeper pick to look for this.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
My top sleeper pick to lift four this year. Can't
give you two, Let me give you two.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I don't care.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
One is DeAndre Swift and we we have an insider,
remember Judson Richards.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Okay, I mean, but this is this is wild that
you're going in this direction.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Judson covers the Brett Bears and he tells me that
they don't have any running backs except for DeAndre Swift.
Expect a lot of touch it if you're gonna go
a receiver heavy early. DeAndre Swift's a guy that could
have a decent year with Ben Johnson. My other guy
is Courtland Sutton. I think he's gonna take that monster
step this year because I think that they're finally the
Sean Payton offense that they want.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Uh, Courtland Sutton, I don't think is that crazy of
a pick. I you know, I mean he's he's been
around for a long time. He's a veteran, but.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
He's always had this third tier or second tier. But
I feel like he's.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Gonna go top. I think top.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
I think we can get twelve ondre yards.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
So that's a little nutty, you're a little nutty thing
of a thing to say. All right, So my top
sleeper this year is a guy we already mentioned, Ricky Persall.
I think is gonna be the guy.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Well, they need him to be.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
They have to. That's sort of the reason is that
they need him to step up. You know, he didn't
get shot this offseason, so that's a good that's a
good step for him in the right direction. And you know,
he's a number one pick, and so he's got to
step up. He's got to replace Deebo and until Brandon
Au comes, he's he's going to kind of be the
top guy who knows what's going on with Juan Jenny

(14:04):
Well and he's got a contract issue and so I
don't know what the heck's gonna go on with that guy.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Be a massive year for him and Kittle.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Yeah, so I think Ricky Kittle, those guys are they've
got to have big gears and so I think at
least in the beginning part of the season, you may
see them forcing the ball a little bit to Ricky
and so. And he looked okay on once he finally
got on the field. He wasn't you know, he wasn't
like a world beat or anything like that, but he
looked okay. So, you know, I think he was not
quite there yet health wise, and so uh now having

(14:32):
a full year recovery and all that stuff, I actually
think he's going to be a pretty good wide receiver.
So I like him a lot. And then I'll throw
another name for you, and and it would make sense
because of what you just said about Courtland Sun did Sutton?
I like bo Nicks if I'm looking quarterback, and I
you know, I'm not gonna get one of the top guys,
you know me, I told you. I told you this

(14:53):
was the guy I try to tell you. And so
you know, if you're not gonna get one of the
top guys, the Josh Allen, the Lamar Jackson's, you know, if.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
You don't get Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jaye Daniels or
Joe Burrow, just wait until.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Because because Patrick Holmes, fantasy wise, is not bag.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I don't know what that yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
You know. I would put Jalen Hurts in that category
because he scores so many touchdowns and things like that,
although no more too push, so we'll see what happens.
But anyway, Bonix will be that guy under the radar
that you may even get as your second quarterback. But
look for him to take another step up this year
and his he runs the ball a lot, which is great.
He's not quite Josh Allen, you know, he's not that big,

(15:32):
but he'll score your touchdowns and things like that on
the ground. So I kind of like bo as well
as as maybe a little bit of a sleeper guy.
So there you go. Week one is just around the corner.
Hopefully your fantasy drafts are coming up just like us.
So next episode we will review how our first two
drafts went, and of course probably mock each other and
make fun of each other. So see you next week.
