Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, So from time to time I will break
down my different top tens. You know, a lot of
times it's music related. But now I've opened it all up. Okay,
so this time it is time to really get in
there on something that is super important. It is time now,
right late. It's top ten. It's about to happen. Would
(00:21):
you say, would you say that you agree or pissed?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
You're gonna hear now you're gonna hear now.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Edie's top ten list and He's top ten list. All right,
let's get into this. This is a very important topic
that the world is discussing right now. It is all
about this new snow White movie, Yes, the live action
(00:54):
remake that Disney has done with snow White, and people
can't get over it. They're losing their minds. They're losing
their minds. And it is all really because of the
star of the snow White movie who what's her name?
I forget something. She came out when the movie was
being made and all that stuff and saying that you know,
(01:15):
this is a new version of snow White. She doesn't
need a man favor yeah, and said that Who's become
super She was like a hype man She was like
in the background, go yeah you too, wa yeah, oh yeah.
Disney made this movie in the thirties and Jesus came across.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Why are you in it? Why are you both?
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Nobody's fortunately to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
It was kind of weird, and.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Even though it came in at number one, it bomb
still didn't make that yeah forty million.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, but yeah, you know, listen, you can't say bad
things about something that people loved. People they they didn't
weren't walking around going you know what, I hate snow White.
I can't believe that they had Prince Charming savor. Nobody
was saying that. And if you were your weird sorry
you got issues.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Kids.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
It's a kid's movie. It's a fairy tale. It's a
fairy tale.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yes. People also not have be with the way that
the Seven Dwarfs look. Peter Dinklie came out and said
they should have done it in a different way. So
that also added to people not.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Really some of these live action movies, they're going to
be kind of tough to make, you know what I mean,
it's not weird.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, but thinking about Peter Dnklish is saying that is
he peer Dinglish is an elf right in elf?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
He's in elf?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yes, but he said he said, no, he's not, and
that whole scene is about him being little and small.
But then he has a big problem with the Saw
and the seven Dwarfs, which is ironic.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
He wanted he wanted real actors.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I thought it was he he had a problem with
them being dwarfs.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
No, come on, you idiot, all along the snow White timeline.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Why wouldn't they Why aren't you locked in? Because I
can't stand that?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Okay, So I decided, you know, with all the controversies
going on with snow White so much, I need to
look back and really do a deep dive on what
were the best Disney live action remix because now they're
doing all of them. Yeah, they're really They're so am
I pumped to see the live action Mowana of course,
(03:28):
you know things like that.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
They have a lot of live action.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Oh I didn't. You're about to find out.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Because the Lion King was it?
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Can you not? Can you just sit back and enjoy
I gotta go over you shut your now. Yes, there
are a couple on here that you go, well, where's this?
Where's this? What I felt like you had to be
pretty close to the original retelling of the live action remakes.
So you're not going to see Maleficent or you're not
(03:57):
going to see Cruella because they're not. Those are like
stories about it, they're their own things. Both would have
made my top ten is fantastic, underrated, underrated. Yeah, but
you're not the exact retelling. So gotcha, pumped the bricks.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I respect that. Thanks for clarifying.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Thank you. I knew you were wondering. I'm also going
to tell you what did not make my top ten.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Wow, he's going to start out controversial.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
You did not make my top ten Little Mermaid, which
is an absolute turn. It's an absolute turn. Now, I'm
not one of these psychos that had an issue with
an African American girl being cast as aerial. You got
some racist issues there. If you've got a problem with Eric,
it's aid, can we pump the bricks? I don't care
(04:48):
like you can be whatever and be recast. I don't
have a problem with that. What I have a problem
is if you can't sing and you're in a musical,
then I got a problem with it. Watch that movie.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yes, really, it's awful, And that will really bother me
because Little mermaid songs are probably my favorite.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Who was the villain of Little Mermaids?
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah? Who plays the season Musli McCarthy. Yeah, casting.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Is that an insult? Or is that?
Speaker 5 (05:20):
I'm sure?
Speaker 1 (05:20):
I'm not really? So let us begin in my top
ten Disney Live Action Remax here. Coming in at number
ten is Alice in Wonderland. Now, this is the Tim
Burton weird, uh kind of version of Alice in Wonderland.
Listen what you could come up with another one? Then
(05:44):
then your list here. But it's not great. It's not terrible,
Like it's watchable, but it's Tim Burton weird. So it's weird.
It's weird, you know. I don't even know if it's
like is it for kids? I don't even know. It's
like if you're on acids. Yeah, you'll really enjoy it.
Alis in Wonderland. Yeah, it sneaks in there at ten
(06:08):
A listen. I don't love it. I don't love it.
By anything.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
This could have been a top five list. I feel
like I don't do top fives. I know, but I'm
just saying I don't do top five.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Coming in as my number nine Disney Live Action remake,
maybe a little bit controversial here as well.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Really, Pinocchio, I mean controversial because you talk about a
weird story. An old man who's lonely needs a little
boy to live with them.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
He wants a child, wants a child, and I don't
think he expected the wooden toy to come to life.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
And then when the magics his nose grows, his nose.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Grows little in there.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
If you're.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
You know what I mean, what do we represent?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I'm not saying this would be an episode of s VU. Okay,
but I'm just saying it would be an episode of
s V. Hey, that's an incredible Jimmy the cricketing question.
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Anyway, And if you cast Tom Hanks as Jeppeto, we
have another issue here. But I'm not going to get it.
I don't know. There's the rumors and things that aren't great,
but whatever, I don't believe them, and I don't believe them.
I'm not in that group. But but you know, listen
it was If it was a good story and a
(07:32):
good movie, I would love it. I mean, I like Pinocchio,
you know, I don't like Monstro. That's a problem. If
you have a whale as a bit, you know, a
big part of the movie. Then I'm out. But overall
it wasn't great. It wasn't great. Is it's still better
than I was wanting to probably, but not great. Wow,
(07:52):
here we go. One person is going to have massive
thoughts about a number eight live action Disney remake. Number
eight is Dumbo.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Oh, Emily above that was you.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
You had a hard time watching the Dumbo live action remakes?
Why live?
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Animal abuse right in front of my face. I mean
it was It's not it wasn't a real elephant, and
I think there was yeah stuff.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
I mean that's part you go back and watch the cartoon.
I mean it's a it's a pretty close retellings of
you know, of elephant of Mama Jumbo, you know, being
abused and things like that. Cartoon doesn't hit this and
there and they're mad at you know, Dad Dumbo and
things like, yeah, it's not great, uh whipping him.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
My dad and sister used to call me Dumbo because
you had those giant years.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Be called it's probably hard for you to watch watch.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
My dad would tell me that five fire way Dumbo
the China eat meat loaf.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
I mean, some some say that's abuse, but I think
it's funny.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
And then he beat him my sister or be dying laughing.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
I don't have as big of a problem as Emily did.
It's just not great. It doesn't make you have the
feels like the cartoon did. Did so they missed the
mark a little bit. Yeah, you know, just between the
abuse and then the mama and all this stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
I was in tears. I was scared.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I was affected.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
You were in tears, scared and affected from Dumbo.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Remake. All right, So again we're not in great territory yet.
It's crazy, tough, tough coming in number seven. We have
some good and we have some bad. When it comes
to the live action remake of Beauty.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
I was forced to see this.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Oh I thought this was gonna be way higher.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Oh no, because I don't know. If you remember Beauty
of the Beast, is is beloved favor the cartoon version,
you know, incredible, incredible.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
What's your problem with the live action?
Speaker 1 (10:05):
One problem and one problem only? What Emma Watson was
horribly cast as Belle unlikable. Belle is so sweet and
so kind and so loving and all of these things,
and innocent and beautiful and all of these things. You
(10:25):
know that you know about the bell that I saw
in this beauty.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
The Beast is unlikable, like Sidney Sweeney or something.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
And no, no, no, I don't know if i'd go there,
that'd make it a little weird. I don't know that wat,
I don't know that i'd watched it. But the other
characters I enjoyed, scared great, Gaston was great, and he
nailed that character, Beast, the cool, all those things were good,
(10:57):
you know. But but Emma Watson nearly ruined that movie.
She was terrible.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
I thought this was going to be a top three.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no happening. Well,
i'll tell you what's happening. My top ten Disney Live
Action remakes coming in at number six is one hundred
and one Dalmatians.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Okay, now, are you okay with this? Emily affected?
Speaker 1 (11:23):
No, I'm okay with this one. Trying to kill the
do make a coat, trying to make com The reason
why it's only at six because this was a pretty
big movie in the early nineties. Yeah, when I saw it,
I was a little bit I think it was like
maybe in my twenties, and so it was a little
too kitty for me. So I don't have the fondest
(11:46):
of memories. I remember watching it going whatever, and I
don't know that I ever came back to it, and
so what just wasn't really for me. I recognize there's
it's better than some of these other ones, and I
recognized that it really isn't meant for me, but but
still decent. And number six spot for I forgot alright, one,
(12:06):
here we go. Number five of my top ten Disney
live action remakes is The Lion King. I have yet
to see the new Mufossa one, so that probably would
be in there top ten. This is a spin off, right, Yeah,
you're right, it's not necessarily sorry. I think you could
call welcome. The Lion King is pretty good. It's pretty good. Again,
(12:33):
these live action ones, when you're doing things like that,
it doesn't have it doesn't hit the same. So when
you we everybody watched The Lion King in the nineties,
you know y'all loved it. I loved it. What a
little hookuna matat. I hate.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
You stop it, stop it, I thought, Eric, it's a problem.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Oh my god, I hate it.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
No heart, Yeah, I don't know, it's just it doesn't
feel the same. It's well done, it's pretty stunning too. Gorgeous,
gorgeous Beyonce, all these things stunning. I heard absolutely everything
she said was right. Wow, you what you're what you're
doing right now is wrong. Your whole life is wrong.
So it's it's average, which makes it perfect at number five. Okay, okay,
(13:44):
I'm going over my top ten Disney Live Action remakes.
Coming in at number four is a lot. Oh really,
Will Smith not terrible as the genie. You're not going
to be Robin Williams. You can't nobody can recapture I
like that you can't recapture the magic. But Will Smith
(14:06):
not bad. You know, he wasn't slapping anybody at that time,
and so overall I thought it was pretty good. It
was it was, okay, you can't recapture magic. Hurt that
you're trying to rub lamps. You know you can't get
that magic. Okay, again, these things are they're hard to recreate.
(14:27):
They're really hard because we have such fond memories of
the cartoons and the originals. The animated versions are just better.
And so yeah, is it on that level. No, But
as far as a remake goes, not bad, not bad.
Coming in as my number three Disney Live action remakeer
is Sneaky Good, Sneaky good. I don't know mulan. Check
(14:50):
it out.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I never saw it.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Have you seen the animated version? Right, of course you
have no what.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I don't know why Mulan has never been in my RelA.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
No, I'm not move.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
On, son of a b I'm the son of a
It is a girl who pretends to be a boy
to fight in the.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Army ancient whatever kinda think. Yeah, yeah, but you know,
the the the animated version one of my daughter's favorites
when she was she was fan. Who is It's adorable,
absolutely fantastic. Uh the anime or the live action version.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Sneaky good, stop good movie.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
That sneaky good. Scott, your daughter would be empowered by this,
And this is what I'm about, female empowerment. That's okay,
that's what I do.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Yeah, I love that, Emily goes it's actually good. As
all the other they're not great, but.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
This one, this is like the most well done. I
feel like Sneaky good, Sneaky good. All right. Here we
go into my top two of my top ten live
action remakes. Coming in as my number two live action
remake is the jungle Book. I got a cast, I
got a gas.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
That's my favorite one.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Really, listen, I'm a big fan of the og the
animated version of Jungle Book. That was one of my
favorites when I was a kid.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
I hate the song Bear Necessities. It bothers me to
know it. It bothers me to know it.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
I friggin love Ballue. Okay, yeah, of course, top three
character ever in me for me movies in Disney. Wait
a minute, no, no, no, Bear Necessities classic thought. Bill Murray
as Ballue did a fantastic joke perfect. I bought it.
(16:48):
I bought it. I was all in. It was all in.
He was a bear. I felt it held up. I
felt it held up. I thought it was good.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
The kid was fantastic.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Wow, So junk a Book coming in number two? Maybe
you're thinking of yourself, Eddie, Eddie, what's what's number one?
Speaker 5 (17:07):
One?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Seriously, I gotta tell you this one. If you haven't
seen this guy, you will absolutely love it. My number
one Disney Live Action remake and it's not close. Is
Lady and the Tramp.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Really, Lady and the Tramp?
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Who's in that one? Dogs? Are there any like dogs?
Speaker 1 (17:35):
I know? Okay, it's Lady and the Tram and Talking Dogs.
Super cute, really well done, really really well dog.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Surprised that that's your number one.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
But I sat there and watched it and you know again,
watching it with my kids, and I went, I enjoyed
that movie. I really thought it was good, really well done,
and so yeah, that one should be in your rotation. BRH.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
God up.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
So Lady and Draft coming in line number I'm telling you,
I'm talking, talking talk. I can't beat it. I can't,
So there you go. I feel cleansed now after that
snow white garbage. You know that does feel better to me.
So there you go. My top ten Disney Live action remakes.
Thank you very much,
