Speaker 3 (00:08):
We were having a great conversation in the kitchen.

we do. We do a radio show here. Uh yeah,
what are you? What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
That's your snuck up on us?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
I mean, you know we do a radio show.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I know. I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
I thought we had way more time. I would come
back between sixteen fifty nine and seven three every Monday through.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
I was leisurely putting creamer in my coffee back there
and JB posts he he goes.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
You know we're on air right now.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Where's you coffee are? You didn't finish?
Speaker 3 (00:43):
I abandoned it. She didn't get to finish.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
My creamer is sitting out on the counter.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
You ran over here. But Emily's the one out of breath.
So I'm really confused about what's happening. Is this more
of a stress reaction?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Yeah, yeah, okay, put it on a little bit.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Oh no, you know those kind of stuff makes really nervous.
I can't stand being late, So it's more of an anxiety.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
But you are really late.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
To make it work.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Welcome back, Thank you for welcome back. I'm glad you
made it because this the story involves you.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Emily.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yes, I don't know what I would have done if
you would have been here because I don't I don't
know any details. I do know that you were gone
this past weekend. You went to a girls trip wink,
to Palm Springs, just you and another woman.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yea, my good friend. I've been friends with her since
like fifth grade. I'm not because the way you're putting it.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
A woman the whole wink.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Okay, Okay, the math is fabulous.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Okay, So you and your girlfriend went just you and
her to Palm Springs this weekend, leaving your boys just
on their own. You abandoned them.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
That's always a risk. Guys, we know.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Are you scared anytime your phone rings when you're gone
on like I you know.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Is burnt down? You know what could it be?
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah? Serious? Yeah, I'm scared anytime they called me in general,
on a day to day basis.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Your stomach always drops.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
What's crazy about this whole thing is that Emily is
the one that keeps everything together Geese Emily Griffiths keeping
everything together. It doesn't make any sense. Yeah, it doesn't
make any sense. A responsible math is math, Emily.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I'm sorry, sure is okay? We got it together, dude.
So you left uh to Palm Springs, leaving Robert and
Reid on their own all weekend, all weekend.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah, it's always a risk, like we were saying.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Pretty crazy, pretty crazy. Well, because of that, Robert is
getting a lot of praise from Emily's family, and Emily
doesn't really appreciate it getting praised. She doesn't like that
her man is getting praised.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Whenever people whenever people applaud or say Robert is a
good guy. Emily's like the oddest thing.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Well when he walks into a a p one event
when we're doing it no matter what it is, and
the entire crowd erupts with Robert Robber, robber, and then
his eyes light up like a Christmas tree, and he
just starts.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
And he starts doing like an Irish jig.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Starts doing this weird little jig that he does where
he bounces up and down. I mean, the guy looks
like the happiest man.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Why wouldn't that make you feel good?
Speaker 3 (03:33):
It's just a little over the top?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Is it because nobody cheers Emily?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Oh he did was walk in the room. I mean,
he didn't do anything that insane.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
I've seen him give Emily his cell phone when a
p one take a picture with Robert, and he will go, yeah,
so annoyed.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
He almost thinks that like he's the star, like he's
the he's the reason he's there, you know what I mean.
I mean, just you know, temperate, down.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
A little bit. Wow, be happy?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I mean I do, of course I want him to
be happy, but not that happy. Exactly what there's levels here. Yeah,
So we were going, me and my girlfriend were going
out of town this weekend, and there's a little bit
of stuff going on at home with my dad. He's older.
He's been in and out of the hospital and I've been,
you know, visiting him at the VA hospital many times
(04:25):
a week, and he's been there for off and on
for the last couple of years. You know, he's older
and his health's going and he also lives at my
sister's house and so my sister takes care of him.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
He's what an angel? What un ancient? That's why angel, Angel.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Of that angel, she is amazing for taking him. Is
that why your mom created the angel song? Was it
for Anne? Guy? Off of it? I'm not globing of it, okay,
saying it for both of us, thank you very much.
I mean my dad. My dad's fine. He like makes
his own like he could do everything himself for the
most party. She's like a nurse or anything like that.
(05:12):
Then we don't have the space and room. We have
an office. We only have one bathroom. That'd be really tight.
We have two bathrooms now we do, but I'm not
going to share my new bathroom, Roberts. So you're at
your mind. Does he doesn't want to live at our
house for some reason? Excuse me? So anyway, my sister,
(05:38):
he lives at my sister's house. Turns out, this past weekend,
my sister and her husband and the kids are we're
going out of town for a wedding that they had
to go to, and they were to be gone from
Thursday until Monday. So that's a pretty big chunk of time.
And since my dad is kind of like a couple
of weeks out of the hospital, he's still getting his
strength back and stuff, so he kind of needed a
(06:00):
little bit of help. Now, my sister had called me
and asked me if I could help and maybe stay
at her house over the weekend to be with my dad.
And I said, ooh, I can't. I already have plans
to go on a girl's trip to Palm Springs.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
No thought of canceling that.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
I you know, the thought was there. The thought was there,
not just a little bit quick. It was like this thought, okay,
thank God. And so I was talking to you know,
my man Robert about this, and that's when I was like,
(06:37):
you know, a week or two before, and he said, griefies,
I can go over and uh hang out with your
dad and check on him for a couple of the days.
And I said, okay, that would be great. That's really
nice of you. Thank you for saying, law his father
in law. And so this past weekend he texts, there's
(06:58):
a big family group threat, you know, with my sister
and my mom because my mom actually and my dad
are very good friends still even though they're not married.
So my mom helps a little bit too. So it's
all great. It's a big family effort and we're on
the family thread. And that's when Robert on Friday afternoon,
he picks read up from school and then they head
straight to Point Loma at my sister's house, and that's
(07:19):
when they're hanging out with my dad, sending the group
chat selfie's which really sweet. It's my dad. And then
they have a bag of my dad wanted aloil loco
for dinner. Okay, yeah, yeah, So they're holding like the
bag of chicken exactly the family mail. They're holding that,
and they're taking pictures and videos of them all hanging
out of my sister's house, reads in the pool. Dad's
(07:42):
sitting out there. They're having a great time. My dad's
getting company, you know, perfect, perfect, And that's when what a.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Guy by the way picking up read picking up dinner
work in a full a probably twelve, going to all
the way to Point Loma and then the chicks just
off doing whatever.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
She wants and palm springs make.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
It out and like that's when I get the photo
and I'm out to dinner with my friend at this time,
and they go, oh, that's cool. Look at what Robert's doing. Okay,
that's cool, that's cool. The first photo cool, Like that's nice,
thank you so much for doing that. And that's really
that's when a barrage of texts start coming in from mom, sister,
(08:28):
my sister's husband, Jay Bones. We call him, well, all
of them saying Robert, you're a hero. Robert, You're like Giffies,
where there's people like clapping and like going kisses and
like like tearing up about how incredible this is.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I just look over you know, I try to think
about it this way. It's a lot to do on
a Friday after you work. What a nice thing to do.
What a good guy.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
It's wonderful, it's wonderful, awesome. Talked to him about this
so literally, I wanted him over there to visit. You
should be like.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Over the moon. I don't know if I would do
all this for Haley.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
I don't know if i'd say that out.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Oh sorry.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Well that's when I find out that I thought my
mom was going to go there Saturday. She did go there,
but guess who showed up as well on Saturday for
another visit. He stopped by the store for my mom
and picked up some stuff so they could all make
dinner and hang out with my dad on Saturday night.
Robert again, Robert, it's great, that's so cool.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
If you don't seem that January, I think it's more
than fine, it's really really nice.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
On Saturday, I'm about, you know, five cocktails deep. I'm
sitting at the Ace Hotel pool. There's a DJ going,
and then I get another barrage of texts. It's photos
from Robert hanging out with my mom, hanging out with
my dad, my stepdad, Ken's there. We're all sitting outside
and joining the Sunshine and.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Senior Citizen convention.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, they're all around the same age, right.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
And that's when my sister, who's out of sharing war stories,
my sister who's out of town, sends text replying to
the photos. Robert. Words can't express how much it means
that you're doing this for our family. You're our hero.
We owe you big time. You're the best.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yea, he already does so much by being with you,
with you.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
So, you know, I just felt like it's a little much. Why,
especially because now on Sunday I decided it was my time.
I was going to go. When I got back from
Palm Springs, I was going to my car was at
my friend Christina's in Point Loma, and I was going
to go pick up taco shop for my dad and
I and go sit there and eat lunch with him.
(10:42):
I did that. Send a picture to everybody. I'm here,
I got dad this time.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Radio sid Well, it's your dad, it's your doors.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
To give me a double tap leg just a double
not not. It sums up yeah, because it's your dad.
It's not.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
If Robert did this one day, I'd be like, Wow,
that's really that's really cool. It's really nice.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
But two, it's that's crazy good for him. You don't
understand the difference, Like, this is not his responsibility. It's
kind of your heard and we've heard.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Maybe thank you so much, sister for being there. I
don't be wonderful, I mean. And we've heard that Dave
could be grumpy. Sorry, he could be grumpy.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I've heard that.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I've witnessed it.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
So you're upset that Robert is getting more praise for
visiting your dad than you are.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Just a little bit.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Okay, I don't understand. That doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
You should over praise a kid for when they're just
doing what they should be doing, you know what I mean.
You know, it's a little anoying. It's like, okay, you
should buy some participation award, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
So you're saying Robert is getting basically a participation award for.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Helping your father.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Yeah, I am.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
If I was you, i'd buy him something nice today.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Thank you, thank you so much. I give him a
hugged a kiss.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
I mean, I take care of the man. What you're
doing enough, don't excuse me.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Out of I don't understand this.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
I
