Speaker 1 (00:00):
So you guys are probably aware of this that the
Marvel superhero Wolverine has healing abilities, so like you know,
if he has some sort of injury, he's able to
heal himself very quickly. Emily has the reverse.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
She's like Bruce Willis in un.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
She's the opposite. Yea, yeah, she's mister Glass because she
is not healing from this sprained ankle that happened in August.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Was she some anti antium? What's it called?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
She needs some of that?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
She took care of it so well after it.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
This is insanity. I've never heard of a sprained ankle
lasting this long. I've never heard of it. I don't
know what is going on Emily is that people cannot
get over her walking around in a walking boat in October?
What the hell is going on with this ankle?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
It's brutal, Like it's brutal.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
The amount of times I have to explain it, I've
just kind of said, it's a stupid story, like I'm
an idiot.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
That's where I loved. That's how defeated I am with this.
Now that's really quick. We were I had a conference
in Austin, Texas. I was with the show.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Were was a radio conference yet finished finished with dinner,
had some wine.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I also had a top.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
On that needs to drink alcohol, probably too much. We
needed to play that right there. My my, my top
kept coming untied and would get looser.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
So I had to drug and I remembered an ailing
did you I didn't. I didn't. I thought it was
a good idea to retie as I was walking down
four stairs and.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
That didn't work well.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
So I you know, I love to get my drink up.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Quote, I'm really hurt, guys, the hard guys.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
I'm really hurt.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
It's really hurt.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
We could see that, yeah, right behind you.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, we're staying right there.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
That night walked ankle.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
The ankle walk back to our hotel.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
But can I say impressive, boob never popped out like
I mean you you can.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
It was close, it was well, I mean, I don't
know if you were staring like I was described it
to a police sketch artist.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I was trying not to.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
But in that moment of tying the boob top and
the ankle roll, I didn't see anything.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
I was trying to protect that, okay, I was trying
to protect at least you got that.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
Thank you, for saying that, and so we were out
of town, and I just I couldn't. I couldn't do
I couldn't do it when after the room, But but
I didn't. I never really had a sprain like this before.
I fractured my ankle once when I was like fifteen
playing volleyball and I had a cast on it on
the other ankle, but like that was a cat that
was cast it, and I had crutches, and I was
(02:54):
a kid, so my mom said stay out with it,
all that stuff, right, But I never had a sprain,
so I didn't realize.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I was like I, I didn't realize it would like
if you don't actually completely stay off of it or
do more like the severity of it and how long
it could last if you don't take care of it.
Let's haven't taken care of it.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Let's recount some of the things you've done since the
sprained ankle.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
All both, we all told you.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
This is all my fault. I've done everything wrong.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
We've gone line dancing.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
That sounds mine dancing.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Wait a minute, you heard that right with cowboy boots.
We have walked around Disneyland for an entire day. We
have done multiple walks like charity walks.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
And there was a stint at the gym for two weeks.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I'm getting there. I mean, I'm not even close to
being done with the amount of things that you've done since. Yes,
why you decided to go to the gym a couple
of weeks after sprained ankle and walk on a treadmill.
It is one of the more maddening things I've ever
heard of.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
My life, because with an ankle injury, you can still
go to the gym. You just can't.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Do I've been injured.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
I've injured myself at the gym. It sucks.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
You hurt your shoulder, my back. It's the worst. I
don't I want, I feel like I can keep going.
You're laying there, You're just like, I gotta go back,
but you just when you go back and you've reinjured your.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
So you actually go to the gym. Emily's not a
gym goer who didn't really need to go to I'm
just saying.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
I'm just saying, I get the feeling of hurting myself
and not wanting to stop doing what I'm doing, but
you just have to.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah. Yeah, There's been so many things that Emily's continued
to do on this sprained ankle, and it's not healing obviously,
And so the latest thing was, you know, you went
into the actual doctor and they put, you know, recommended
this walking boot. And you've been walking on this walking
(04:54):
boot for how long now week and a half for some.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
I've like been using it solid, like even at home
when I'm like cooking dinner and stuff for like two weeks,
two weeks about like and like, yeah, are you taking
if Yeah, I'm taking ibuprofen.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
I have been. I have like CBD.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Cream that I'm woke. The doctors, the doctor inflamation. There
is a little bit of tea see it.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
It girl absorb better.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Super high right now, doctor seth rogen.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
So that's that's where I've been at.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
And it's still like it's still swollen, and it still hurts,
and it just doesn't feel it hasn't gotten worse, but
it's not getting better.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
So this walking boot's done nothing.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
It's definitely not aggravated it anymore. And some days are
better than others. But like I still like I think
i'm too I'm screwing around my house and doing all
my errands all the time, and I think I'm still
putting pressure on it with the walking boot, you know
what I mean. I think I need to ease up
on the pressure on the ankle and take it easy
a little bit. I think the walking boot is made
(06:06):
to get you from point A to point B. It's
not meant to go still. Let's go go hard on
the paint and be moving.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
It's just crazy because I've had multiple spraying ankles before,
and yeah, you stay off you, I said all that stuff,
but eventually eventually it gets better.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
You have that morning when you wake up and you go,
oh my god, finally.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Yeah, and Emily's never had that in two months. No,
that I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
So I have.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
Gotten a couple dms from a couple p ones just
too saying that this happened to them and it was
spray and they ended up ended up getting an MRI
down the line and they found they actually found a
fracture that they needed surgery for what I'm describing. I
don't know if that's the case, but I'm not going
there yet. But I just I don't know what the
hell is going on, because it is obviously you guys
(06:55):
screw my ankle. You guys know me, the boot is
the last thing I want to do because it looks hideous.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Well, I know and like for my clothing. Whatever I'm
getting at is clothing wise and the way it.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
Looks, so it does I understand.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
It's idious. I can't even look.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
I'm trying to like and I can't wear certain things.
I really I haven't shared this with you guys. I
was really bumped because it's cooling off, and you guys
know I love my son my dresses.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I like short dresses. They're very comfortable.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
I wear them in your often because they're easy tennis shoes.
The end of my stress season is past. I haven't
been able to wear dress. We're donement.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
No, Yeah, it looks weird.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
I was doing it.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
And then thor got in my head and so now
made me self conscious, So now I won't wear it.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
So that sucks. It's my worst nightmare, the worst.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Night The worst nightmare is your little dresses just affecting everything.
So this thing isn't getting better. We're two months in,
so Emily is now taking another step no pun intended. Yeah,
(08:08):
what's going on now?
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Well, I'm like I was saying, like I'm still putting
pressure on it when I walk oh, I saw.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
You running down the hall the other day when you
were late. Well, she she was late for a commercial, and.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
I know I did the wrong commercial. Yeah, And then
I looked at her.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
I'm like, she's running in a boot, Like that's the
opposite of what you're supposed.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
To be doing. This guy, that was the only time
I've ever run with since I've had this. Okay, I mean,
I had no choice, emergency run.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
But I'm still you move fast in that I do
move fast, so I'm still putting pressure on it. Yeah,
and i can't do that anymore. But I can't still
and I still got to do my stuff that I
got to do.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
And I decided why not get a knee scooter to
scoot around on? Oh my god, I have a boot
to get into my car. I can still walk.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
But then at least when I'm scooting down the hallway
to go get water, I'm scooting, there's no pressure on
my leg. When I'm going for my car into Walmart,
in around Walmart, no pressure.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
On my leg.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
This is ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
So this is what I've come up with. This is
leading up to a concert that I'm going to this
weekend as well.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Okay, well, then, well that's what I want the scooter for.
You're gonna use the scooter at the concert.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
That's going to be a night.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
I don't even know how you're gonna go shopp because
how are you gonna push around a shopping cart with
the scooter? That's like you have to like that doesn't like.
I don't think you're realizing this handless you have to
turn like you're not. Really, She's acting as if she
doesn't need to do anything. She puts her leg on
two wheels and moves around. You need to hold the scooter, Like,
how are you going to go shopping? How are you
(09:40):
gonna have one hand on a drink with one hand.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
On a scooter?
Speaker 3 (09:43):
No, when do you go to Walmart?
Speaker 6 (09:44):
You now need to be the like the ride on
scooter chick at Walmart.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
This is one of the least thought out things she's
ever done.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah, not true.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
I didn't think about the shopping cart thing. But my
solution for that is I would use it when I'm
getting one or two items. Those scooters have baskets in
the front, and then if I'm doing a big trip,
I wouldn't use the scooter for that. But I'm just
saying if I, if I can, if I can at
least cut my walking time on it by fifty percent,
will do better than zero percent.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
No thought of like maybe staying home and resting it
this weekend instead of going to a concert.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
No, I really want to have She's gonna get drunk
and not care about it and walk around on it.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
You don't say it worse?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
No, that does, and then she's going to come in
here and complain about it. I have a feeling.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
Can you imagine the first day with the knee scooter
if she were to get it? Because she moves so
fast she cannot help herself. I see her banging into
stuff all over the place, scooting around and then literally
like what do I Thirty five minutes into the morning,
she's gonna declare she's done with this thing. It's making
her Why did she ever get this thing?
Speaker 3 (10:56):
So I'm hoping that's what happened in Sky. I have
had to help.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
I know you pretty well.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
I did post on Instagram yesterday afternoon about the scooter,
asking for a scooters if anybody had one in their
garage that they wanted to sell and get rid of.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Second scooter, second scooter.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
You know, you're not going uh Mercedes Benz of scooters,
nothing like that.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I want to just get you know, see what this
is like.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
If you would have got the good walking boot from
the start, probably wouldn't be in this situation. You bought
a cheap one off of Amazon and it fell apart. Yeah,
this is like her first fourth or fifth.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Four on a good one.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah. Yeah, but I'm just saying initially, if you would.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Have got the good one, that was only a span
of four days.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
But you're right.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
I posted on Instagram and I had a couple of
I got to buy, and a very very.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Wonderful kind p one reached out. Has a scooter. Her
daughter broke her toe, and so she has a scooter
that she had.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
The daughter is tougher, very not as.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Yeah, and so she is going to bring it here
at around eight forty nine am this morning to the
radio station she works in the area.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
So it's starting today.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
So it's starting today.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Oh are you just borrowing this thing or are you
paying for it?
Speaker 5 (12:12):
She I offered money, like I offered money everybody, So
chill out and nobody.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
She was super nice and it's just been sitting there,
but meaning to take it to good will.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
She says, he's just going to give it to you.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
She's just going to give it to me, she says.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
I don't do it.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I love you guys. I love the Pewood podcast.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
This is at least like okay, the way we all
accept gives for people sometimes.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
What's true.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
People give us nice.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Things out of ten ten men and the high as
woman and the lowest.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
She loses it at the concert this weekend, I say nine.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
I'm not losing it, I say, because I'm staying at
my aunt's beach house as a beach house. Yeah, and
so we're staying there and it's like a half a
mile away.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
So the scooter is to get me from there to there.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I have to carry it around at the concert.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
I'm not going to lose it at the concert. Trust me.
I'm holding on to this thing.
Speaker 6 (13:04):
I don't think she's going to lose it. It will
get abandoned for a few hours, and I.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Don't think somebody steal it.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
I think I think she can park it in breaking
it somewhere and she'll she'll get back.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
To it won't get broken.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
But I mean, that's not my intention this ankle, Just
chop it off. I would like, I'm over it. You're
we all are all right, well, Scooter, Emily, that's where
we're at now. I guess fly down the hall. You
(13:39):
not man,
