Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's showtime people, It's showtime here. We are yes for this.
You're about to experience this show. How'd you like to
get down with some real gangsters with the ringleader Eddie.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
I'm weird and I have my weird quirks, but overall
I have a pretty normal sensibility.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
The accountant and room mothers Sky.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
I'm also not very brave nor strong.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
The enforcer Thor. Am I negative all the time?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Do I have issues?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:30):
And dressed in black from head to toe.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Emily, I am a mix of trashy and classy.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
It's the show and it starts right now.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Well, we talked yesterday about the disagreement that Thor and
his wife Haley are having over the nursery. That it's basically,
you know, Hayley's vision of what the nursery is and
Thor is not really allowed to have any say what
goes on in there, and so yeah, that we kind
of broke that down a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Well, now we're getting to the point of where they're
starting to come up with the birthing plan.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Oh, this is big.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
You know what happens with that? You got a big
doctor point tomorrow. Okay, I don't know what it's for.
But the seventeenth we're going, okay, right on, check it out.
I don't know if it's an ultra sound this time.
I think it's just like a check up. Yeah, so
I know.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Now checkups will be disappointing, like after you get like
the big ultrasounds. Now when you go just for a checkup,
you're like, really, I came for this.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Luckily I got the reprieve from those. I remember Deborah said, yeah,
it's just a check up. You don't have to go
to that. Yeah, thank god.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yeah, yeah, but you want the cool stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, you want to go to the sonograms and things
like that, but just to check up.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Luckily she's like, yeah, you don't have to go to that.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
But the birthing plan is a big deal, and I
remember it being a big deal with Deborah. But then
when you know S hits, the fan plan sort of
goes out the window. I remember like we were supposed
to do all these things and pack all these things
and didn't like use any of it. Oh really, Yeah,
(02:08):
Well we started to have like complications and stuff, and
so the birthing playlist didn't matter, didn't happen. The popsicles
that I brought for some reason didn't matter. Like all
those things didn't matter. And so you this guy who
you know did the full natural birth and all that stuff.
I'm sure it probably came into play with you a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Yes, yes, my my birthing play on uh pretty much was.
We did stick to it. You know, I had the
playlist going. I had, uh, you know, the strict rules
that I didn't want to have an IVY in. I
didn't want to be in the bed. I want an
IVY because if you have an iv then you're restricted
to the bed. And according to all like the people
(02:52):
you know who believe in like natural childbirth, the more
you move, the better it is for the baby to
drop out.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
So what Here's where I get confused, Like what's up?
Like what's what's going to happen? Like you're at a hospital?
Like what like if the IVY is really gonna screw
everything up that much you wanted? You're confused? Like what
I don't understand? Like the like the difference is being natural.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Difference is being tied to the bed or not so
some people, but it's it's it's like harder.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
They don't want you to so you don't really need
an ivy.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
So what they did for me is they'll just put
the well. But if I don't need the fluids, I
was drinking hydrated, So they put the pick in just
in case, like an emergency happened, like you know, in
Eddie's case, and so they can immediately go.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Right, you were okay with the pick, Okay, I.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Just wanted to be able to move around.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
I know that the ball I bounced on, the ball
sitting on the toilet is hot. Gravity bros it along.
So do you want to work against gravity or.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Do you want to work along? After birth?
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Like two hours?
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Whoa Like I was the luckiest person I know. Like
it was crazy, Like I walked into the hospital at
ten thirty am and my daughter was in my arms
by like one thirty. Yeah, it was It was very
very lucky. Like nobody has a story like that.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Did you have like a squat bar or something.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
There was a lot of talk about a squat bar
because again gravity, the visuals guy walking around.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
You want to like so it's not all so it's
not about like affecting the baby.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
It's about like let's get it out fast and natural. Yeah,
you know something about it being less stressful on the baby.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
That is, So what what's the long term effect?
Speaker 3 (04:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah, well, if you've got a suction that thing out,
it's got a weird head for a while.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Yeah, that that'll happen.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
But but the birthing play on mine, luckily was stuck
to lots of my friends. Like Eddie said, once it
hits the fan like that, nobody cares about your playlist.
It was a big issue in our house the mirror.
Do they offered a mirror? So if I wanted to
be able to see.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Oh, get offered a mirror.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Why would you want.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
To say that it's like a full length mirror that
they'll put up.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
So GY's Rich.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
Spielberg's back there, Yeah, stop walking around. Okay, there's more blood.
So I I opted against the mirror.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Everyone. I figured, I'm there, I get what's happening.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yet nobody wants to see that. Nobody wants to see that.
So yeah, but I think it is smart to have
a plan going in.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Well, the plan is what is in question here, and
it really is surrounding when the baby is due.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
The day of the week is going to be tricky,
so listen, the baby. Let's see, I'm gonna go to
my calendar right now. The baby is due date is
November two. November is a Sunday.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Think about November on a Sunday. Thor's life revolves around football,
and so if this baby comes on a football Sunday,
I don't know that is going to be there.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Giants are playing the Niners ten am.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Oh dude, how great is that?
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Well?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I mean that's his wife's favorite team and his favorite
team and the baby's coming out. Whoever wins the baby
should be able to root for that team. That should
be a figure we already have. Yeah, come on, dude,
that's fair, we already had.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
My father in law s a he was going to
buy Niner stuff for the baby, and I went, no
wearing that.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
I think that that should be fair. Whoever wins gets
the kid.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Not happening. He's not wearing any Niners stuff. Oh come on,
he could wear San Francisco Giant stuff. That's fine.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
It was so dumb, but family tradition.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Man. My great grandfather was a Giants fan. I think
they've always been Giant heard I've heard. Yeah, my grandfather
the polo grounds in the twenties when they just when
they just started football. Okay, that's how far back to
Dons man.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Okay the dog like you're part of a franchise.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
So anyway, yeah, So so I said to her, I'm like, so,
my buddy, my buddy Zach had a baby on a
football Sunday years ago. And they got to the hospital
and I remember they were just at the hospital. Nothing
was happening. She her water broke. They were there and
they were just waiting. So while he was there waiting,
me and him where he was watching the game on
his iPad and Giants. You're a giant, massive Giants fan,
(07:50):
and we were texting back and forth. Now eventually I
stopped hearing from him because eventually stuff started happening. So
I mentioned that to my wife. I go, God forbid
you go into on a Sunday.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
That's today, Like, that's actually the best.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Get induced on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
That's not that way to do it.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Watched the first game, however, happens, So God forbid she
goes into the labor on a Sunday or Thursday or
Monday night. Wait a minute, what day of the week? Girl, Okay,
well Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Saturday. I like college football. So Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday's open, Friday, Friday, excuse Friday unless you got like
(08:32):
a unless you got like a big time I don't
know that you should.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Why do we do Tuesday?
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Actually do on Wednesday? Those like Mac games, okay, like
Eastern Michigan.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
You know.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
So so if God forbid he comes on a Sunday,
I said, all right, we'll take you to the hospital.
We'll get you settled, you know, but I'll bring my
iPad and while we're waiting, I'll watch the game. Now
see the issue here, You don't.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
You don't realize what's going on. Like have you done
Lama's classes yet?
Speaker 1 (09:05):
No?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Okay, so when you do, you are supposed to be
heavily involved with the breathing coach and the rubbing of
the back and the you gotta hold hands like you
gotta do all.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
I can't do all that with an iPad propped up.
I mean seriously, Like, I don't understand if we're if
the bait. My sister's first baby, Ethan, my nephew, was born.
It took like thirty eight hours.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah, it was twenty six twenty.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
So I'm supposed to not watch anything for twenty six hours.
Think about how ridiculous that is, Like, think about howdiculous
you both. It's up to it's up to the mom.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Are you capable before of watching in silence because you
know when girls are.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
In minute no, I mean you make noises.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Because when you're in intense pain, the last thing you
want is someone next to you going yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
If you really want intense pain, watch the Giants. My
thing is, I will get her settled. Okay, we'll get her.
I'll have the game on my phone so she won't
know we're getting her settled. And then once the game really,
once she's settled and she's good, I'm like you're good.
She's like I'm good. Then I'll sit there next to
(10:18):
her and I'll have the game on that she needs anything,
I'll get it. But the game could be like on
a chair on the iPad. I don't see why not.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
What if God forbid she goes into labor during the.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Game, Oh God, your grab in the bag?
Speaker 1 (10:36):
What a terrible I would would honestly, I would have
I would get in the car, I'd get my Apple
car Play going, and I'd have YouTube TV on my
phone so we can listen to the game while I'm
driving at I don't see why not. I don't see
why that's crazy because she's gonna have my attention. She
won't have my attention. I'm there, and.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Lots of times you watch silence like you're breathing and
you're in like so much pain that you don't please.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
It's not like the movies. Your water breaks. You're not
paid for hours. You're not paying Oh please, you're not
paying for hours. This was a crazy thing to say.
This is all crazy watched movies. You're not in crazy
pain on your way to the hospital. That's not How
about attraction you are?
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Wow, this is I don't know that it's gonna go
over so well.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
I don't know. Well, so I'm gonna watch the game
and the like. She says that she wants to get
her birthing playlist.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Yeah, that's the thing. We didn't play one song.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
You didn't know because everything happened.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
It was all well, it happened quick, and then it
stopped forever, and then it went exactly my point.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, I get what you're saying. And then it stops
forever forever. Well, then it became an emergency for me so,
but you had hours the whole time. I absolutely could have,
but I was there standing by ready with the popsicles.
Yeah you didn't want really listen, let's just pray it
(12:06):
happens on a Tuesday. Yeah, I agree. So it's better
for everybody. Everybody so his birthing playlist, and I'm like, well,
if I'm in the room, I don't want to. I
don't think you get to pick you're not in the room.
I feel like this should be a co playlist. Like
(12:26):
I don't see why she's the one that gets to
pick the music. I get that, but I'm also going
through it. Agree Like the dads get completely screwed. It's crazy,
but we just accept it. You gotta accept I'm taking it.
I'm taking I'm taking a stand.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
We're the ones that get screwed because we're the ones
that have to go through all the pain.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
I get that. I get that, but I'm sorry that
I'm not a woman and I can't have a baby.
But my wife kind of makes it seem like she's
resentful at me because I can't get pregnant, and like
it's my fault. I did this to her. It's my fault,
and it suck. It's not fair that I can't go
through this, and I'm just like, I don't know what
(13:08):
you want me to do about that. I'm sorry, I
can't just magically what's that movie where the guy gets pregnant. Yeah,
I can't. I can't. I'm sorry that I can't go
through it, like I don't know what to do. And
(13:28):
like yesterday, she legitimately was mad at me, Like I
could tell she was mad at me about this because
I brought up randomly. I brought up like that it's
going to be tough, you know, because I don't know
how much time'm gonna take off of work. I don't
want to take that much time. And she can't get
over that. And then she's like, well, I'm like, I'm sorry,
and then she brings up like and I go, yeah,
it's gonna be rough for me, and she goes for you,
(13:50):
I'm not allowed to be I'm not allowed to know anyway.
So so I said, well, obviously know John Mayer. Wait.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
I thought, that's like one of her favorite artists. Why
can't she.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Have because because it's not she doesn't like, she doesn't
she hates how much I like Sabrina Carpenter. She hates.
I think, like, you don't really like her music. You
like man Child's my favorite song right now? So I said, fine,
who's the other one you like? Do a lipa or somebody?
(14:25):
And I could, I could get down with Chapelone, so
I said, So, I said, if you want Chapelone, if
you want you know, some of your country stuff, that's great.
But John may Or she has fantasies about. So she's
that I will not have my son be born to
anything John Mayor. And then she goes, and then I go,
John Mayor is the father? I mean he's not.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
He's not.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
You're there. Who knows who she was thinking of? Can you?
I mean, well, what does it matter? I said, fine,
I'm gonna put Sabena Carpenter on the plaace. This isn't
going to be a battle. This isn't going to be
about why are you battling? She says, yeah, that's not
it's my playlist. She talks. I'm like, it's I'm like,
we're all in the room. Honestly, I'll take requests from
the doctors. Okay, there in the room. I'm sorry, they're
(15:10):
in the room. Why can't they just what do you
want to hear? Can you imagine play something? It takes too.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
I'm gonna yall out from the way, play on bass.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Play Why can't we just make it all eminem We
both love eminem. Our wedding was like, oh, but what
if it's like again like eight hours? You can play
eight hours of eminem. You have to do it the
whole time, like I gotta I'm gonna have football and
I don't want want music.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Okay, you're not really understanding this.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
I don't want thing for the game and have like
an he air in one right, I'm not trying to
talk to him. I don't think he understands this is
not gonna be don't be born on a Sunday, dude
saying that's on board.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
So yeah, okay, the Emmy nominations came out yesterday. We're
gonna see if any of our favorite shows were nominated
when we get back on the show at Rock on
a five three love food Fighters on the show It's
Rocking five to three. So yesterday they came out with
(16:22):
the Emmy nominations, and so it's always interesting to see
which shows got nominated.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Yeah, the Emmy nominations came out, like Eddie said, and
there were some strong leaders in the clubhouse like that
are the Emmys. The Emmys are September fourteenth, hosted by
Nate Burghsey. Oh, yes, who was actually nominated for two Emmys.
Speaker 8 (16:47):
Bargatzi no one knows studio before come in for free comedy, remember.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
You know here for that?
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Oh was he nice?
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Like because it's funny. I didn't.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
I don't remember him being where he's at now, the
level of you know, like he's he's one of the
top guys now.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yeah, not in I feel like, yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Like when I saw that he was hosting Saturday and
Light and I.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Went that guy, yeah, like wow.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Okay, and he had I think he had just been
in before that. I don't know, I'm looking it up
right now. That's crazy. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
So he's hosting September fourteenth, CBS and Paramount Plus.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
So yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Some of the big leaders in the announcements yesterday was Severance.
Severance got twenty seven nomination.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Yeah. I don't understand this. What do you mean? It's
one of my favorite It's maybe a top five show
for me I've ever watched. And I've been telling everyone
this and everyone on the show refuses to watch it. Okay,
first of all, frustrating. First of Jamie watched it and
he loved it. I love Jamie for that. I love you.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Love now youlcome to my world shows.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
I've suggested Severance is a good show.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
I promise you I'm gonna watch it. I mean, it
proves I don't know coming Bud. I mean I'm not.
I'm not gonna watch Tulsa King like you know, but
I mean Severance is something that I'm interested.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
It's it's one of the better shows. It's I don't
know how they're gonna do a season three. It's gonna
be wild. But the first two seasons are just like
every episode is incredible.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
It's kind of complicated though a little bit.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
I don't think it's I think it's a little slow
because they have to explain because it's a complicated thing.
But like they pay It's not like it's not like
one of those shows. There's a lot of questions, but
they actually answer the question.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Sky watches Antique road Show every night every night, and.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
She's watching this dumb YouTube guy now to hear about everything.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
I know. Excuse me, Ryan Troyhand is not dumb. It
is a very exciting thing watching him.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I've told her, hey, watch Severance. I'm your only hope.
I'm gonna watch it.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Yeah, talk to Eddie about it.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I'm gonna watch Guy for this. Yeah, I'm in.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
But I'm right in the middle of paradise a big brother.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Right now. Is a tough time on a tough time
for you know, football is gonna be here. I know
it's gonna be tough. That's the only problem.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
Wow, seven twenty seven nominations. The Penguin twenty four.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Now, that was a show I recommended to four and
he watched phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
It's great.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
I like that one.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yes, you don't think I just thought it was a
great show, Like Tolls the Kings More.
Speaker 9 (19:27):
I mean I watch good shows that.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
What's that second the City show you watch right now?
Speaker 3 (19:32):
The which one?
Speaker 1 (19:32):
The Sex and the City Show.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Yeah, I don't want to talk about.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yes, that's where you live?
Speaker 3 (19:37):
I hate that show.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
That's where you live?
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Stop?
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Okay, yes it is. You can't handle the you can't
handle the peg.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Get out of here.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
And then finally, with twenty three nominations each, we have
the White Lotus and the Studio getting twenty The Studio.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Another show I want to I watched.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Part of the first episode I want to fish it.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Wait what?
Speaker 9 (19:56):
I watched a little bit of it and then something
happened and I turned it off revisited it, but.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
It's it's so good. Seth Rogan's like completely evolved as
a comedian where he does like it's more mature, and
it's the way shot is awesome. It's very fast paced.
It's a phenomenal, so funny. Again, another show Sky would love,
but she's gonna watch some more on travel around the
State on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
He's raising a lot of money for Saint right now.
It's really nice that.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
It's really nice talking about.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
So anyway, So there were some first times that happened,
first time acting nominations for Martin Sworsese and Ron Howard
for them on the Studio.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
They're both in the studio, Yeah, and it's it's they're
really good in it because Seth Rogan's like the studio head,
right and he's trying to make these deals with directors.
And it's especially Ron Howard of surprised Scorre Sase got nominate.
He was barely in it. Oh, really like Ron Howard
was really funny in it.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Yeah, and Harrison Ford nominated for his first ever Emmy
for his show Shrinking that He's on. And then we
have our oldest and youngest nominations ever with fifteen year
old Owen Cooper from Adolescents getting a nominee for Best
Supporting Actor and.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Then Kathy Bates for Mattlock getting a nomination as the
Audi I means so deserving.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
She was so amazing Maddie on that show she stopped
h So yeah, the big categories Outstanding Drama, we have
and or the Diplomatic, the Last of Us, great show, Paradise,
Just Paradise, the James Marsden Presidential, the Pit you know
(21:38):
that your rip off with got nominated Severance, Slow Horses.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
And White Lotus.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
So I tried to watch Slow Horses.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Harry old Man five.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Yeah, this is another Apple show you only watch great show.
He only wants make a great show. That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
And then in the out Standing Comedy category, Abbott Elementary,
The Bear Hacks. Nobody wants this, only murderers in the building,
Shrinking the studio and what we do in the show.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Tough because the Bear is high on my list of
things to watch too, So.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
We'll see are there specific store brands that you really like?
Like Emily loves Walmart. We're gonna see what store brands
we like the best. Coming up next to the show
A Rocket, A five three sublime on the show, it's
rock with five to three. So Emily is loud and
(22:42):
proud with her love of Walmart. Oh yeah, big Fan,
Big Fan, go there quite often. Oh yeah, it's three
four times a.
Speaker 9 (22:50):
Week, depending on the week. Usually I'd say two to four.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Okay, well three, I mean three worry means the three
right in the middle. Was it right in the middle?
I mean I said it right? So yeah, I loves
going to Walmart, Big Fan, mainly for the prices or.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
For the selection or both.
Speaker 9 (23:13):
Selection because quality, yes and no, I mean selection because
you can get everything. It's one stop shop, bro. So
that's the selection. And then for the prices it's I
mean it's unlike significantly significantly cheaper. I will do like
a hall of stuff that we need, whether it's toilet trees,
plus groceries and all this other stuff.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
I'll check out. It'll be one twenty five, right.
Speaker 9 (23:34):
I swear to God if I would checked out with
the same stuff from a grocery store.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
It would be two twenty five.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
And I'm not kidding, but didn't you throw on a
T shirt as well while you were there?
Speaker 3 (23:43):
Sometimes?
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Yeah they were cute. I do love Walmart leggings. Yeah,
I saw really cool belt.
Speaker 9 (23:53):
You don't need to do that, okay. And it's not
every time I go there so often. It's not like
that thrill has gone down where I'm just putting stuff
in my cart. It doesn't always happen, of course, it
happens sometimes, Yeah, tank top or something.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
I need another beach chair. Huh, you never know, we
don't go to the beach. That still can't be the price.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Wouldn't throw on a beach chair.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Well, they did a whole article trying to figure out,
all right, what store brands do people like the best?
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yeah, because clearly some people are struggling financially. Things are
getting more expensive, so they say, actually, going with the
store brand is much better for your pocketbook.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
It's your great value. It's the Walmart store brand. Of course,
she knows it. She knows it well.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
So they say, not all store brands are created equals.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
So these are the ones that people like the most.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
And I kind of edited the list to only include
the grocery stores that we have here in southern California.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
So their number seven pick goes to al D.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
They say al D actually has the fastest private brand
growth in the entire industry, beating out Amazon Basics, beating
out Trader Joe's other big top ones, and they say
people are loving it. I've still never been.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Me neither. I know there's one in Alcohola that's the
closest one to me.
Speaker 9 (25:12):
But I've had a couple pe ones email me saying
you would since you love shopping so much, you gotta
go there.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah, I haven't met them. Wow.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
When they opened the Claremont one, like I don't even
know six months ago, I was like, oh, I'm going
to go there as soon as it opens.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
But then you realize it was in Claremont. What is that?
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Every day?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Do I have to take the shop of this?
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Can you shut up?
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Number six favorite store brand is Good and Gather, which
is Targets brand.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
They say, lots of snacks.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
They have over like two thousand different products, so especially
with snacks, that's where that's where they shine.
Speaker 9 (25:49):
They have the Southwestern checks like trail Mix that's very delicious.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Of course, I'm a least going to know all these brands.
The number five brand is Simple Truth. This is a
brand so you'll find it at Vaughan's Albert's is.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
I used to get Simple Truth stuff thinking I was like,
so healthy, is it better for you? Or is it
just a store band. I think it's just a store brand.
But it's called Simple Truth and it's like green, So
I was like, you thought it was healthy.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Well, it's like they're offshoot peanut.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
But like the felt because it like it's like green
with the logo, it makes it look like it's like
all that. I don't think it is.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Well, you know what FA is half right, and this
is a common misconception. So yes, the Simple Truth brand
promises to be free from a bunch of artificial ingredients.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
But people think it's organic.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
It's organic, that's what I feel.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
It tries to be more na so cheap organic. Yeah,
but it's it's not really organic.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Emily. Number four Great Value. It's okay, Now here's the
tough thing about this.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
That's Walmart.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
This is Walmart's brand Great Value.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Emily was just telling us how much she loves it
and how much she saves, so they say number one,
this is going to be the cheapest store brand out
of any product out there, but it's also considered some
of the worst tasting quality.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
So if you want to save, you definitely will.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
My wife made a mistake and went like an off
brand great value for ketchup, and you what sucks about
it is you have to like when you get like
the Heines ketchup, you do a little squeeze, a little
bit comes out with the great value. I have to
like squeeze it hard with two hands and it just
flows out. Can't just get a little squirt, It's insane.
Speaker 9 (27:37):
I don't do great value catch up mayonnaise, peanut butter,
any of like that stuff.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
I don't do great value.
Speaker 9 (27:43):
I do like the name brand stuff, paper plates, cand
goods like can tomatoes, canned beans and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Great value steaks. Wow.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Our number three favorite store brand is Trader Joe's. I mean,
and you know, whether it's Trader Jose's or whatever they're
calling it, whatever you're buying, that's the number one at
our house, definitely Trader Joe's. Number two goes to three
sixty five, which is the Whole Foods brand Now the
(28:16):
opposite of Walmart. People are saying, Okay, it's cheaper than
other stuff and Whole Foods, but by no means is
it cheaper than like Walmart or Vond's.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
But the quality is really good.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
So if you're shopping at Whole Foods anyway, they say
that's the cheapest of the brands to go. And the
number one favorite store brand out there by far is Kirkland.
Costoh yeah, they say, from everything from like food to
bottled water, don't you get wine from the.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Kirkland Savion blanc is very very delicious. It's compared with
the m Crawford Savian block. It's away nine means.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
And that's what people say in the review that Kirkland
their deal is they're getting big name brands. They're just
slap in their own label on it. So you're getting
the quality and the good price when you go Kirkland.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Ok. Yeah, but Lulu Lemon's now suing them for doing that.
Oh really because they started selling like Lulu Lemon type clothes,
but it was Kirkland brand. Uh huh. And now they're
suing them because they're basically stealing their brand.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
That is crazy that they can do that. Yeah, okay,
well that's interesting. All right, It is time for Beat
the Geek call right now eight seven seven five seven
oh one oh five three. If you want to try
and win some comic compasses, now, gotta be a little
well versed in nerd knowledge. We're gonna see who we're
going to be sending to the con when we get
(29:37):
back on the show at Rock with a five to three.
Beat the Geek, of course, is where we pit two
p ones who have some nerd knowledge, going back and
forth with like nerd style trivia, and last nerd standing
gets to go to the con. That's how Beat the
Geek works. And it's been wild so far. Yesterday a
(29:59):
huge ups that Eddie. I think, I think I believe it.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
I think the saying goes any given Sunday. It really is,
you know, I think that applies to you. No one
saw a.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
Coming guy, Uh yeah, one of the ones who's played before,
and it was uh, you know, absolute goat.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Yes, maybe they would say he was cocky going into it.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Well yeah, he thought, but like the second question or
was it the first question that I asked him?
Speaker 4 (30:24):
I remember second he took a little long on the
first year. I mean the name is Yoda.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
I wasn't going to call him out, but I guess well,
I mean.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
I mean, I'm sorry. I had all mys in your bucket,
and in your bucket, I don't know if that's the
same bucket, you know what, I.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Do you have that bucket for it? It was, yeah,
it was. I was blown away that that happened. But
that's the way the game plays, you know what I mean.
Sometimes you'll hit a question or a category and you
just don't know it because you've got to be well versed.
This isn't just I'm going to ask you just Star
Wars questions or whatever. It's it's all over the Comic
Con universe. And if you've ever been to Comic Con
(31:05):
you know how it is. I mean, they cover everything
in pop culture and so but but you know specifically,
you know with the comic world and Star Wars and
you know those kind of things. So those are the
types of questions you need to be knowledgeable about because
it's not like I'm just, you know, gonna give you
whatever you want.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
That's not how it works. It's so serious. Look at it.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Big time Comic Con passes Emily. I know it's a
gold I'm giving you, man, you gotta earn it, got
earn it. It's get our first p one on the
line here now now, now, I'm fired up. Now I'm
fired up. Let's go to pee and Kyle. Hey, Cole,
Hey there, Kyle, what's up?
Speaker 6 (31:48):
Kyle?
Speaker 1 (31:49):
You ready to do this? Bro?
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Oh? I am.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Have you ever been to Comic Con before?
Speaker 6 (31:59):
Exhibits inside.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Virgin you just go in.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
For the first time. If he wins, Oh my god, dude,
inside I'm I'm I'm hoping you get this done.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Uh Now, Kyle, what what do you what you like? Expertise?
What kind of stuff do you like?
Speaker 6 (32:20):
I'm a big m c U fan. I mean and Or.
You can't beat those movies. You know when you tell
me that you get teared up, I'm the same way, Matt.
I can't handle it.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
I want to hug you, man. I want to give
you a big hug right.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Now, at the at the end, rose till the end,
just yes forever.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Hey, don't do this to me right now? Hey, what
you guys talk about, don't make it weird each other,
don't make it weird. All right, Kyle, I'm pulling for you, bro,
But your competition is p one, Scott, what's up, Scott?
He's winning me over now. I kind of had an
(33:03):
infinity for Kyle, but Scott coming in hot.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
I like this people.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
They really are what all guys? I want to hang out.
Speaker 10 (33:11):
I'm excited for Kyle to be cool to see your
first con, but I'm not going to make it easy.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah, that's right, that's right. I get that.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
I get that, Scott. Have you ever been to the con?
Speaker 10 (33:21):
I have been a few times.
Speaker 6 (33:22):
Yeah, a few years.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
I had a baby, okay, last few years. Nice, few years.
What kind of stuff do you like, Scott?
Speaker 10 (33:29):
I mean, I'm a big Marvel fan Tube. I definite
attention to DPC. I watched a lot of anime with
my kids. I just finished Chainsaw Man yesterday and then
I'm diving into Demon Slayer right now.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
That sex.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
That's really cool, that's really cool. I'm happy for you, Scott,
all right. And this is a solid matchup. I like it.
This makes me happy, all right. So we'll see what
happens here. Kyle, you are up first again. This is
last Nerd standing. That's how the game works. Kyle, you
are up first. Your category is going to start with
(34:06):
Star Wars. With Star Wars. Are you ready, Kyle, Kyle,
what is Andor's first name?
Speaker 6 (34:19):
Oh god, I haven't watched that.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
The last last thanks, it was Kyle.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
We're going to go with you, John Johnny.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Johnny, and Or that's his brother. That is incorrect, Cassian,
that was tough. That means that if Scott gets the
next question correct, the game is already over, which would
be wild. But well, we don't know, we don't know.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Scott's gotta get it right.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Scott's gotta get it right. All right, here we go, Scott.
Your question comes from The Walking Dead. Hopefully you watch
the show.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, all right.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Scot, Scott, Scott, what is the name of the all
women community in The Walking Dead? I wish so badly
(35:33):
would have been that, but that is incorrect as well.
It's a little hometown, Ocean Side. They're known as ocean
That I was out right, I think so.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
I think that was.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Both guys are still alive. Both guys are still Kyle.
That means you're still alive. Yeah, So, Kyle, are you
are you ready? Have you recovered?
Speaker 6 (35:58):
I think so?
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Okay, you're good, You're good, You're good. Here we go, Kyle.
Your question is from the mc U. Kyle, all, what
is the name of the cat from Captain Marvel? He
says goose, and he is correct. A flurking, as you
(36:21):
guys know, a flirkin. Not really a cat. It's a flirking.
That was a movie, right, what Captain Marvel was? Okay,
the marvels Marvel.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Scott. Scott totally gets it. Scott. Wait wait your turn?
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Okay, he say, sorry, all right, here we go. Scott,
over to you again. You got to get the question
right for the game to continue, Scott, No pressure, Bro,
You're fine.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Scott.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
What is the name of the inter dimensional prison in
the DC universe?
Speaker 10 (37:00):
Oh, the negative Zone.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
That is incorrect, it's the Phantom Zone.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Scott. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 6 (37:13):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Okay, yeah, well that means congratulations to Kylease.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Go to the cod He's never been inside. He's never
never been.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
I don't know if that's Chyle.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
I'm so okay he's discribed.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Kyle's so excited you can.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Get here, there is He stroke out. Dude, Good job, bro,
you get to go to the con.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
I'm so excited. Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
About who are you bringing?
Speaker 6 (37:54):
I'm gonna bring my wife and uh.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Well, the Major League Baseball All Star Game went down
last night and it looked like the National League was
going to finally run away with it.
Speaker 6 (38:12):
Now.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
They had lost ten of the past eleven games to
the American League. The American League some for some reason,
its just dominated the game for the past over a decade.
But the National League jumped out to an early lead.
They got on the board first when the Diamondbacks Catel
Marte hit a two run double in the first Manny
Machado when he got up, actually made some history as
(38:34):
he was the first guy called out using that ABS system,
the automatic Balls to Strike system.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
So there was a pitch thrown and which, by the way,
the pitcher was miked up, which was insane because the
commentators were talking to him as he was pitching, which
I thought was wildly distracted, but he was.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
He was talking back.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Yes, Scoober was talking back. Kershaw one was really cool
because he would ask him. He goes, what do you
want me to throw?
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Here?
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Smoltze said, John Smoltz in the boot and Smoltz.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
Throw a cutter.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Throw a cutter, and he goes, wow, okay, well I
don't really throw a cutter, but okay, it was wild.
It was great but anyway, so there was a questionable pitch.
They called for the challenge and Manny got called out
because of it because it was a strike, So I mean,
was not great that, No, you had another bat he
struck out on that one team.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
Not a great game for.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Manny, but whatever, so that was interesting. Then the Mets
Pete Alonso hit a three run bomb, Actually Fernando Tucci's
junior had walked, so he was on base at the time,
put the National League up five to nothing. The d
Backs Corbyn Carrol added a solo shot to put them
up six to nothing. So you gotta go, all right, Nationally,
He's got this game over. You got the best pictures,
(39:49):
You're ready to go. Here we go.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Not so much.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
The Al started to come back, unfortunately for the Padres.
Adrian Marty hone. He was the one that sort of
started things off and his first All Star game. He
put a couple of guys on and then the A's
Brent Rooker went deep to cut the lead in half.
Robert Swarez came in to close it out, but the
Al scored to make it six to five. So then
(40:13):
they brought in Mets closer and when Diaz who gave
up the one extra run there, So the American League
then tied it all the way from six to nothing
to six to six.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
As long as I can remember, the AL always wins
this game, like it's crazy. They won like thirteen in
a row, then lost one, and then before that one
nine in a row, and in years before that, it
was like the NL that always won.
Speaker 6 (40:33):
Right.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
So like I was, I wasn't shocked when they came back.
I think the NL's better than the AL. But for
some reason, the All Star Game has always been an
AL thing lately. So when they came back, I was like, oh,
here we go again.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
Yeah, so now what do you do? Because remember I
didn't really remember this, but I I when they were
saying there's no more extra innings in the All Star Game.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
Oh really?
Speaker 2 (40:54):
There was that one game that went into extra innings
and everybody was like what are we doing? Like that's
crazy in a tie because the commissioner was like, you
got to just end this thing, and it was like
a big controversy.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
And then after that is when they started to do
the winner gets home field.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Right, because people were pissed because they wanted to mean
something and it was a whole wild thing. Well, the
way they were doing a tiebreaker now home run Derby.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
Really I think I always thought it was awesome. I
thought it was great because it's you're obviously it's it's
an exhibition game. You're kind of already in the home
run Derby mindset because you just had one. I thought
it was perfect. I loved it.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
So what they ended up, what happened, I didn't realize
this is how it was going to go down. Before
the game, the managers have to submit who they want
to compete for the home run Derby if the game
goes into x RA innings. Now they know if you're
a starter like Judge or Tawani, you're you've been out
of the game for seven innings, and so they're probably showered.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
They're not even going to bother. Some of them leave.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Yeah, yeah, once you're done, you're done you And so
they knew the guys who were going to be like
the reserves, those are the guys I have to use,
you know, And so they submitted like I don't remember
what he was, like six guys each, and so you
get three pitches. If you're tied after the round, then
you keep going and keep going to the next guy,
keep going to the next guy, keep going to the
next guy. Well, it was tied after like I think
(42:19):
three rounds, and then the Phillies Kyle Schwarber stepped up.
He got three pitches, all three went yard boom, boom, boom,
and so he put the National League ahead four to three,
and they ended up winning it four to three and
the home run. It was fun. It was a lot
of fun watching.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
It was crazy because Mookie Betts wasn't in it.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Figured well, Schwarber was named the m VP because of that.
In the game he was zero for two. He's the
only player to ever get the m VP who didn't
have a hit in the game. Isn't that crazy? So yeah,
it actually ended up being pretty fun, you know, pretty fun.
Major League Baseball Star Game.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
I enjoyed it got the best All Star Game because
it's the only one where they actually kind of.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
Well, they're still playing a normal game.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
And they're still in the middle of their season, right.
I don't know. Basketball has become a caricature, but Baseball
still like the really All Star.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
Yeah, and there is no Pro Bowl anymore. It's the
Pro Bowl games for the NFL. So yeah, it was
a fun game. Was I really enjoyed it? This is
not great news for the w NBA. Caitlyn Clark injured
her groin again, I guess late in the Fever game yesterday.
She had to leave the game and apparently she reinjured
(43:40):
this groin that has kept her out for several games
already this season. Now, earlier in the day, she was
announced to be a participant in the All Star Game
three point contest. Of course, she's a captain for the
game itself. Now all of that is probably done. So
if you're the WNBA, who's gonna watch the All Star Game?
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Oh? Man, that's a disaster for second year. She's just
banged up.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
You know, she can't and you know how like leg
injuries go, either you're fully healthy from them or you're
you're gonna deal with it all season.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
So it's not great for her. Can't check that injury,
you stop follow.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
One of the San Diego f c's best goal scorer
is leaving Milan Eluski is headed back to his Danish club.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
Now.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
He joined the team on loan from this Danish team,
but the loan has been terminated and he is headed back.
Now he's scored ten goals in his ten appearances with
the San Diego FC, so he's a great goal scorer.
But now he's not on team.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
I didn't know we get loan to play.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
It is a weird deal. I don't really understand it.
I'm a Nube, so I don't like how.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
The zoo we get to borrow these pandas for a
while and then eventually exactly what.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Exactly what it is. Yeah, I know we're giving some
more bamboo. I don't know that is sports dirt for today.
Speaker 6 (45:06):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
There is a woman who wants to know if she
crossed a line with her boyfriend or not. Now she
thought she was doing something good, but he is not
happy about it. We're gonna see how we feel about
what she did. Coming up next on the show at
Rocati five three Disturbed. On the show, it's rocad five
to three. Speaking of disturbing things. We have another new
(45:32):
hoodie from Sky. It's just out of control, like another.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
One Spring sweatshirt.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
She got to I mean she has one and we
talked about how it was like jarring, jarring, Yeah, really weird.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
How could you have another hoodie? How many of you
did you go out there and do the thing I
asked you to do.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
Didn't count. I gotta. I can't even imagine that's all
you own.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
It's not all I am.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
But this is the newest one, the jewel to my crown.
Speaker 1 (46:08):
I don't think it's jewel. It's not that the jewels jewel.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
Yeah, well, I really it's a zip up hoodie, which
is great.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
I prefer the zip up over the pullover. Just fun fact.
And I really you.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Can't ever find the hole that your head goes in,
goes all the way over your shoulders and everything.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
I have a normal size head. I don't end up
in the sleeve. Okay.
Speaker 4 (46:31):
I like this one a lot because of the whale.
We saw a lot of whales on our last visit.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
What looks like it's melting.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
It's a whale tail, bro, and it's got the water
coming off of water.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
I thought it was melting.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
I had a melting ye. I don't, I don't, I don't.
Speaker 4 (46:47):
It's coming out of the water and that's the water
coming off of it.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
And then on the back, more whale with.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
The cool see the back.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
The back's dope, bro, Dope, it's dope, bro.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
That's another one. Says new Poor Oregon.
Speaker 1 (47:01):
It looks like it's going to crash. That many do
you want of those things?
Speaker 6 (47:07):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (47:07):
So many? I can't get enough. I was so excited.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Why I'm on you for twenty five years. You never
weren't like that before.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
Yeah, I only went one place, like your sixties and okay,
can you shut up?
Speaker 4 (47:19):
No, I you still only go to one place, which
was Maui, and then I you'd see a lot of
Maui stuff. I mean, I still have that sweet one
with the turtle on it.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
That's that's one though.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
That's a good sky.
Speaker 9 (47:28):
There's a probably big part of you that wants you
like these because you want people to ask about it.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
The Newport Organs. You could tell your story. I do
enjoy telling my story.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
I don't know, I haven't thought it like that, but
I just you stories.
Speaker 7 (47:42):
Sorrytory, that's what's the story.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
End of story.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
So I'm supporting the community.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
What community?
Speaker 4 (47:57):
The organ community is that go to the community. Well, yeah,
it goes to one of the local business the worst.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
I'm not the worst. I'm sorry. I support local commerce.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Don't don't know, you're so annoying. I hope we all
do for Christmas, she doesn't get us like all Oregon stuff. Well,
that would be a big mistake. Nothing's going right to goodwill,
don't you dare if I'm like a whale onesie or something.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
Oh yeah, don't wait for it.
Speaker 1 (48:29):
I'm not gonna wait for it.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
Well, this is one of the Sky's issues, is that
Sky a lot of times will think she's doing good,
something good, and it will backfire. This happens to you
quite often more than anybody I know, to be honest
with you, it's weird.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Well, if you stick your nose in the people's business
when you think.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
You're doing something good, and it's always you know, it
turns out bad. What she says again, you guys, has
nothing to do with anything, but but true, what are
we doing? Well, I'm just saying, I'm just this would
be something that you would do.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
I could definitely see myself doing this and being devastated
by devastate what has happened?
Speaker 1 (49:08):
You stop?
Speaker 2 (49:08):
There is a woman who isn't sure if she kind
of crossed the line with her guy or not. She again,
she thought she was doing something good, but the boyfriend
not too happy about it.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
Yeah, so I guess they've been together for a while,
and it's kind of one of those things where it's like, oh,
you know, let's let's spice it up, let's do some
some more fun stuff together. We've kind of gotten into
a routine in our relationship. And that's when she realized, well,
there's something that he loves that I honestly know nothing about.
I am not really interested in, but like, maybe I
(49:44):
should look into it because it's something he loves so much. Now,
this is nothing that I'm into, but I know we
all got our own stuff.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
I guess her.
Speaker 4 (49:51):
Boyfriend is fascinated by watchmaking and like high end watches,
like the mechanics inside the watch that make them like special.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
My dad loves watches like that. Though he loves watches
and pens. He likes the mechanics of watches. He loves
all watches. Anything about a watch he loves. Yeah, you
don't wear a watch? Does he look down on you? Probably?
I think they pinch.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
Boy, serious issues? Does your dad always wear to watch?
Speaker 1 (50:23):
He just likes watches. Sometimes he has a bunch of watches.
Sometimes he has it, sometimes he wears them, sometimes he doesn't.
He always a lot of pens too at home, but
he doesn't always have a pen on him, like high
end pens. High end pens, like a mop block loves
a good mop blog bullpliny pen.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
I wonder if he has special pens for like special activities,
you know what I mean, Like if you're going to
sign a big check, do you have like a certainly
does the check book?
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Does he own like a high end watch, like a
Rolex or.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
Anything like that? He has not that high end at
least I don't know. He doesn't tell me what to
tag hour or whatever that. Yeah, he's got a bunch
of those. He doesn't tell me.
Speaker 3 (51:00):
He's a time X man.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
I kind of do too. You guys want to go
over Swiss?
Speaker 3 (51:07):
Yeah, you could change their faces.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
Like you asked for those in the will Watch collection. Yeah,
I don't know. I'm in the will I'm in the Whill.
His big joke is whenever I annoy him that I'm
out of the wheel. Every day I hear that joke.
And I don't know because they don't really have anything,
Like what did I have? You know? They own a home? Man,
(51:29):
I guess I don't know, but I'm talking about like
like stuff like that, Like they don't really have like
like anything is shocking. He doesn't have like a coin
collection or something like that. He seems like that kind
of guess right, Yeah, he used to have stamps something.
I don't know. He hasn't watched guy though. He has
a baseball that's signed by the San Francisco the New
York Giants baseball team from when Bobby Thompson hit the
(51:52):
home run, which is pretty crazy, like the like the
forties or fifties or whatever. But but other than that,
watch guy.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Okay, so are you getting the baseball?
Speaker 1 (52:02):
I should? I don't see why not. I don't really
me and my sister don't want to talk about it.
Speaker 4 (52:09):
Okay, Well anyway, yes, watch making, I guess that's this guy.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Oh, big kite guy as well, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (52:19):
And so I guess this whole watch making is clearly
one thing she knows nothing about, has never been interested in.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
Yeah, you know, very very random.
Speaker 4 (52:28):
But again a little bit of a rut. So she
thought it would be a great idea she found. She
did some research and found that there was this weekend
workshop for watch making where by the end of the
weekend they would have his and hers like watches that
they made at this like watchmaking workshop. And so she thought,
(52:53):
what a cool idea, spend some time together. I can
learn about his hobby.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
This is great.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
So she tells him all excited, and he's got weird
sad face on, oh set face, and he goes, yeah,
watchmaking is kind of like my one thing that I have,
and I don't really want it.
Speaker 3 (53:16):
To be our thing.
Speaker 4 (53:18):
Wow, no offense, It's just the one thing that I have.
And so she said she was hurt. She said she
kind of felt like a little bit embarrassed, honestly.
Speaker 3 (53:31):
And now she's getting mixed reviews.
Speaker 4 (53:33):
Of like, hey, dummy, you gotta let him have his
one thing, and other people being like, no, that was
a really sweet gesture. He should let you into his
one thing. Bhoo, So mixed reviews on whether she went
too far with this idea or not.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
It's so tough because of that particular hobby that is
so specific and so odd that I'm like, I don't
I can't relate to that. The only thing I can
say is like, if my wife wanted to do more
stuff with me, and say she wanted to take up golf,
I would be okay with that. If I was she
(54:08):
wanted golf with me every once in a while all right,
you know, I still want to be able to golf
with my buddies. Yeah, but that one particular thing I'm
okay with.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
Now.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
Other hobbies that I have, like gaming, I don't want
her to be part of that, oh, because I that's
when I go I lock in, it's just me. I
don't even play online. It's just me and I kind
of lock in and it's a place for me to
kind of escape. So I don't want her to be
part of that.
Speaker 3 (54:34):
You don't want anybody to be nobody.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
And it's not an offense I'm trying to, you know,
offend her or anything. She's like, oh, she actually play
video games with you, I'd be like, no thanks, you know,
like it's just for me to escape and like not think,
and I don't want to talk and like any of
that stuff. And so that I would I would say
no thanks. If she was like, I got a gaming
weekend for you, I'm like, oh, yeah, no, I don't
(54:56):
want that.
Speaker 9 (54:56):
I was kind of on her side at first until
you just said the gaming analogy, and then now I'm
like I get it because I have stuff that I
want to do, like my cooking that I just want
to do by myself, and I wouldn't want to share that.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
I know this would never happen. But if Robert somehow
signed you both up for a cooking class, nightmare, a
couple's cooking class, you wouldn't you would be like, no,
that's not well.
Speaker 9 (55:19):
It would be I don't know, that's hard because there
would be some funny moments there watching him try to cook.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
So I don't know if that's a great like I
wouldn't mind that.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Okay, put it in the other realm of like what
Roberts into, which.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
You know, metal music, I don't know, and he liked
to go out fishing by but.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
He doesn't mind you being right, So that's that's I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
I think this guy needs to chill out though, a
little bit.
Speaker 9 (55:42):
I mean, maybe why not let her have this weekend
with you doing this, but maybe moving forward, not all
of your watch stuff has to be with her. It's
just this one time.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
And I think there's a nicer way to say it too,
kind of like how Eddie said it, like, hey, no
offense to you, but this is kind of like my
zen alone, like at my escape time, you know, let's
do something else together, but just being like No, it's
kind of harsh.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
The clock's ticking on. This relationship was about to be up.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
How long has he been holding onto that time? He's
been quiet for five I think you know.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
I think you know.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
I mean it did get me, Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:19):
I thought he actually had something to say.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
No, of course he didn't.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Do you have anything that way? You just wanted to
say that dumb joke? That was it?
Speaker 1 (56:28):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know. The guy seems like
a loser. I mean, seems like a loser. You're you're
into certain things. Yeah, I want Haley to watch football.
Means she occasionally, which is crazy the way you are.
Why would you want I would love anybody. I would
love She refuses. Is she allowed to comment? She refuses to, Like,
I would love if she became a New York Giants fan,
(56:49):
but she she will never do that, which I I
don't know. I would love it, but she I would
love that if she became a Giants fan. We watched
games together and stuff, we went to games. I would
love it, but she doesn't want to. You would love that,
I would because see if she's making comments and stuff
about the team. Ok No, it wouldn't bother me. We
would because I just would watching with her. It would
(57:09):
be fun. But she doesn't want to. And I've accepted
that and now it's fine. It's whatever. But like fantasy football,
I try to get into fantay football too, she wouldn't.
She tried, she didn't like it. It's kind of my thing.
She she likes going to the beach. I go with
her sometimes, but sometimes she just needs her alone time
and I'm like, all right, supposed to be a horse
to her alone time? All right, I don't. I tried
to ride like she and I just wasn't my thing.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
So I can see that.
Speaker 6 (57:33):
Now.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
This is a little again another tricky situation because Sky
and the Boo do everything together everything. But if for
some reason the Boo got into something that you weren't
really into, would you try to get in there with him?
Does it depend what it is?
Speaker 3 (57:52):
Like I totally see this chicks thing.
Speaker 4 (57:55):
Like if we're if our relationship's great, everybody's happy, we're sailing.
Speaker 3 (57:59):
Along, No I'm not getting in there. You have your thing,
that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (58:03):
But if I'm feeling like we're in a rut and
we're having trouble, like connecting at that moment, I totally
would think it would be a good idea, like let
me learn about your boring ass thing that I don't
really care about.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
But hopefully those are my true thoughts.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
But I mean I would, I would, right, but I
would say learn about your boring.
Speaker 4 (58:26):
Of course I wouldn't say that, but we're all thinking it, right,
like okay, great, like you know, to sit down and
explain stock trading to me, Like I really don't want
to do that.
Speaker 3 (58:36):
I don't want to hear about that. But he's lots
of youtubing.
Speaker 4 (58:41):
But again, if we're in a rut and I feel
this could connect us, I would suggest it.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
I would want to do it, and then.
Speaker 1 (58:51):
You would be hurt.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
Yes, I would be.
Speaker 4 (58:54):
I would be now Again, if he explained it like
you did, saying, oh, you know this has nothing with you.
This is just like my loan zen time, my meditation time,
whatever the hell you want to call it, then I
can totally respect that. But just to come out and
be like, no, this is my thing, Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (59:11):
Like that, So then you agree with thor the clock
is ticking?
Speaker 3 (59:15):
Why did you have to?
Speaker 1 (59:16):
Because it's what it did make sense you didn't. We
have breaking news, you guys. The original Thor's midweek meltdown
has been shelved. What it all is based on something
that really bothered Thor that came up this morning. This
has never happened before where mid show he has changed
(59:38):
what he is going to be ranting about. We're gonna
see what's going to be going off on when we
get back on the show. On Rock with a five.
Speaker 2 (59:43):
Three that's the O D on the show. It's Rock
one five to three.
Speaker 8 (59:53):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (59:53):
This is stunning. This has never happened before in the
history of the midweek meltdown where Thor add something that
he was going to cover and it has been completely scrapped,
thrown out because something has bothered him, that happened came
up this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
Keep it original on this show What to day.
Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
I'm not really sure what that means, but we're about
to find out, I guess, And now.
Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
The show is happy to bring you. I'm Or have
some respectors midweek melt it down.
Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
This is hot off the presses. You you were planning
on going in a certain direction this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
We'll do it next week. Everybody clamoring, I mean, I
don't know that anybody care. Nobody knows what you were
going to tell you comes up. That's how I roll. Baby,
something comes up, I'm on the tip and I will
get the rant going and support who I need to
support because as you know, my rants, as you know,
(01:00:58):
my rants usually affect the community. Well that's not let's
not real quick before I start by rand. If you're
watching on the YouTube channel when we post this later
or my Instagram, the show throw our new shirt today,
Valley Forge Auto from the show Tires. Incredible shirt thanks
(01:01:19):
to my wife, Hayley.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
It's a good shirt.
Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
We're gonna stop down in the middle of the radio.
Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
I normally don't to point out T shirts, but you know,
ever since we started filming this segment, Thor picks out
special T shirt.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Last week, waiting for it, and and and then he
like he like got this last.
Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
Week, waited for it of the shirt. If you watch Tires,
you would love it anyway, So I listen, Wait, don't
show your shirt. Don't show your shirt.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
Yeah, look at that, show my shirt a.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Little bit further.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
We already covered my way awful.
Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
Okay, So anyway, I am for blue collar workers, and
let me get to what.
Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
I want you work at an automotive center on your.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Valley forge. I don't know even know what that means.
If you watched tires, you'd be I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
Tears, So if you were thunder Mifflin shirt, I'd be
in tears just because of that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
At the time when it came out. Yes, I do.
I do think that I'm from a blue collar town
in Long Island, and blue collar, blue collar Tom, you
know what blue collar means. Yeah, I do. Construction works
like a white collar town. No, where I'm from its
very blue collar. It's not I'm not from the Hampton's
in Long Island. I wouldn't be white collar either.
Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
I mean there's something in between.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
No, it's blue collar. A lot of like construction workers, plumbers,
elec Christians, uh. And I worked at the roller coaster
for a long time, so I consider myself a blue
collar worker.
Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
I was.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
I was precious Spray and Ride. It's a blue collar
baby baby clip my hands.
Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
By the way, that was like fifteen years ago. Did
I work there? Yeah, So then don't don't ever call
me out from when I say I worked at McDonald's
or I also wasn't fifteen or am my blue collar too,
because I worked at McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Wol I was picking up a fresh I was picking
up trash, which was my next point. We take blue
collar workers for granted in this country, we really do.
I mean, they don't stop working. Once they stopped working,
is when we notice, Oh, yeah, electricians, we don't have
enough of them, Plumbers, we don't have enough of them,
construction workers we don't have enough of them. Mechanics we
(01:03:37):
don't have enough of them. And sanitation worker, oh we
don't have enough. If you notice there we go, not me,
but right now in the in my town, Visita, there's
trash everywhere. There is a strike going on, strike going
on everywhere you go. It's trash like a landfill out there.
Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
I don't think it's I.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Can't take it. And I'm like, who do I need
to complain? So I started doing some research whom I
complaining to about that, about this, and complaining to the
people in the East coast. Right, it all goes back
to Boston. And of course, of course Boston is ruining
a fairy. I don't know that again city, I would
say that, okay, stop not surprising, and I started looking.
(01:04:23):
I'm like, how can I blame Boston for this? Is
it the workers? Is it the people? Is is it
the red soize the trash? So I started looking to
do more research. Just this morning. I hate when you
do research that. I hate when you do this is
all about Republic Services. That's the name of the company.
That's the trash company that employs the sanitation. You guys
(01:04:46):
don't have ed, No, we have Republicans, remember because Red
used to go and tour.
Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
Yeah he was.
Speaker 9 (01:04:56):
He was a republic fan as well. Liked both my
but mainly net cook coming.
Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
So were these four hundred workers on July first from
Boston decided they were going to go on strike because
they walked off their job. They're a part of the
Teamsters Local twenty five shout out, and they wanted better
pay and they wanted better health benefits, especially if you're
living in Boston. I guess their annual pay from what
I found online, was about fifty three thousand a year,
(01:05:23):
which is not that much first to be like Boston. Honestly,
it's not that much for anybody, which we should all
be making more money than that. So then I'm like, man,
I wonder how much the net profit is for republic services,
I'm like, are they struggling?
Speaker 5 (01:05:42):
So I look it up and I see that in
twenty twenty four, what's up, Emily's son's favorite place made
two point four billion with a B dollars in net profit?
Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
Okay, two point four billion something in profit or just
in that profit that profit, baby baby again. So then
I said, I wonder how much they're worth their net worth?
Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
Buckle up?
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Seventy six billion dollars. Way wait, way, way, buddy boy, Way,
buddy boy. Why are you yelling at me? So that
I'm like how much? By the Wayne's World, so that
I'm like, how much are these construction workers asking for
only a fourteen percent raise? Which seems like a lot,
(01:06:32):
But it's not a lot when you're only making an
annual average salary of fifty three thousand dollars. So you
know what I'm for these workers. These workers deserve to
get paid. And screw you, Republic service boy for not
paying them. Sorry, I'm standing up for the blue collar
guy and the sanitation workers because we need our trashes
(01:06:55):
are trash taken out. We need a recycle done. Because
I don't want to do it. I know Sky's not
doing it. Emily's not doing Eddie's not doing it. Jamie's
not doing it, Jamie, people need to do it. Take
these workers for grantedy and they deserve to get paid.
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Here's the thing, though, would this even be on your
radar if it wasn't affecting you in your community Escondido?
Would you would you be standing up for the blue
collarad I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
In solidarity and sisters and Shula Vista and the teamsters.
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Now because they're striking in solidarity with their brothers and
Boss Starr.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Six days ago, Edward and it sucks for everyone. It sucks.
My trash ain't getting picked up. But you know what,
what good for them standing up for the standing up
for themselves and saying if you to the big businesses
who aren't paying what they should and what are public
services doing? How are they going to combat this? Well,
(01:07:51):
they're saying, you know what, guys, We'll give you a
one time free disposal fee so you could take your
own trash to the dump. And you know what, I'm saying,
screw you, because I'm going on strike and I'm not
throwing anything away. I'm going on strike. I'm not throwing
You're not gonna have any carving my trash anywhere everywhere.
(01:08:13):
And then they said, hey, we're gonna have We're gonna
hire outside people from like Arizona to come and pick
up the trash. But just mingle your trash and for
cycle and all that stuff. Don't be well, put it
on separate, Yeah, don't separate. Put a bit. Oh so
now you're not only crap around your workers, you're crap
around the environment. Way to go, republic services all to
(01:08:36):
line your pockets. These blue collar workers should make more
than what politicians make, if you ask me, because these
politicians like line in their pockets left and right. What
is the politicians? Workers should make more and deserve more.
I'm not throwing away trash and no one should throw
away trash until these guys get what we supposed to
(01:08:59):
do what I don't know, but it's not what we
We need to stand in solidarity with our union brothers, sisters, teams,
your local twenty five.
Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
Better strike being not paying your bill versus not just.
Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
I don't want to get collection get screwed that.
Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
Way, but your house is going to be filled with trash.
I mean, I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
People they don't care, gonna put in the street.
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
But they don't care.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
I mean it's not affecting them, your strikes, Republic service.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
I mean it is affecting them because they're getting complaints,
and it's.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
Affecting this because you're junking up the street.
Speaker 1 (01:09:31):
You know what, Sky, I say, we all take our
trash and throat sky. Everyone collect your trash.
Speaker 6 (01:09:39):
Everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
Surprise, the sky isn't owned, doesn't own it really for
public services. As long as you can get the money
you deserve, you make our communities better.
Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
Okay, that that all that all came from this morning?
Speaker 1 (01:09:59):
Yeah, this morning. Yeah, he's lost his money. Thank you,
he's lost. I'm with you, brothers and sisters. You're not
blue collar. You sit me on a microphone, yeah and
talk to blue collar Okay what I mean? Thank you?
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Well, speaking of blue collar workers, I guess I am
a blue collar worker because I used to work at
a fast food put Oh, I used to run a
fast and efficient drive through when I work at McDonald's.
Speaker 10 (01:10:27):
Pal.
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
All right, we're gonna see what are the fastest drive
throughs out there? Coming up next on the show, I'll
rock with a five three Mareen day on the show,
It's rock one o five to three. Uh So we
were just mentioning it there. I did, at one point
in my life work at McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (01:10:51):
Oh what was that disrespect?
Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
It was fifteen and I was the assistant manager at
fifteen pal, which is so crazy running the whole joint.
Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
How long did you work there? Not that long? So
would you make it to seventeen?
Speaker 6 (01:11:07):
Um?
Speaker 1 (01:11:09):
Like maybe barely? How bad with these other employees or
how great was I? That's that's the key to all this.
Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
My son just turned fifteen, could sign him up.
Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
I actually think I'll be honest with you, I actually
think Reid could be a smatter. Like his set of
keys would be impressive, a lot of keys. I just
the only problem with Reid is he would have to
have a manager keep him in check because he would
get too He would be firing everybody. Yeah, he'd be
he would be the he's the epitome of power. He's
the epitome of power.
Speaker 6 (01:11:39):
Check.
Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
Yeah, he'd be making up things that he can't do, like,
you're so accurate, you know I get seven percent of
your check?
Speaker 6 (01:11:47):
Right? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
What he'd be like, yeah, we're not we're not doing
big backs today because I don't want to. Yeah. Yeah,
nobody likes flat fish I'm just gonna get rid of that.
What he would need a manager to keep him in check,
but he would be good. Yeah, same, I was.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
I was incredible, And you know, you kind of work
your way through the system when you're there. Like I
started out in the grill. I was cooking the burgers
and stuff. Then I went to the counter and I
would you know, work the face to face. Then you
go to the drive through. Drive through is where it's at. Man,
like money, that's the big bucks. You get paid the
(01:12:23):
big bucks.
Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
You get paid extra to work the drive No.
Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
Oh, but it should a lot of pressure on you there. Huh.
Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Once you once you get to the swing things and
you got you know, your rhythm down, You're good.
Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
You're good.
Speaker 6 (01:12:33):
No what.
Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
I never understand two things about McDonald's. One, how it's
probably tough to like take an order and the parentson
taking the order and receiving money from somebody else all
at the same time. The multitasking is a little tough there.
Also when they have to order windows, A two order
meant uh plate spots and there's two cars. How do
(01:12:54):
you know which cars which?
Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
Every time every mind's blown.
Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
My mind's blown. Who I get in front of the
person before me. How do they not listen that up?
How do they do that?
Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
I do believe, and I'm not sure because they didn't
have that back that back in First Street one spot.
I think it says lane one, lane two on it,
so you kind of know on which car. Yeah, I
think you know which which lane.
Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Like it's like a magic trick.
Speaker 8 (01:13:23):
That's nothing, it is it broke.
Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
So do you remember when I made my grand return
to McDonald's. It was like twenty seventeen. I came and
did a shift that I forget. I did a shift
I remember, and I ran the two lane drive through
back then. Oh wow, and I broke records. That's a fact, broke,
that's a fact. Bro They asked the owner R. P
(01:13:48):
ones knew we were going to be there and all
showed up. What does that matter with the efficiency of
time in the drive through? I was running that thing
like nobody's business.
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
Then he tried to kill me. Well, you threw through
fries at me. That's not true anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Riding Oh yeah, oh yeah, but better because I'm an
adult now. And so I was man baying hours left
and right. I had the biggest sales in that hour
that the stores ever had. Did they ask you to stay?
Speaker 6 (01:14:24):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
They would love that. But I have this other side job.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Now where do you feel you shine?
Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
Do you shine the most where you're actually taking the orders,
where you're bagging the orders? Or actually, I'm not a
bagger sky Okay, you never worked world.
Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
No runners, I don't. I'm I'm taking the order. I'm
the I'm the face. Ye got to show the face.
You know, you're gonna hear my my my pipes first,
you know, and I'm going to greet you, and then
I'm gonna get you in and out. I'm gonna get
you through real fast, you know, hopefully the rolls working
on my speed. But then you know, we're all, We're
(01:15:03):
all one well oiled, greasy machine.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
Now do you deal with the special order? And you know, sorry,
what you're gonna have to pull for? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Number one, I don't want to. We didn't have stalls
back in my day. You just pull forward and you
just have to with the.
Speaker 1 (01:15:19):
Whole order to go. App things throw you off, that's garbage.
I don't need it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
You don't need that.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Come on, I'm fast, I don't I don't want to
deal with that.
Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
People order now just walking in, taking their food and
leave it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
How do you feel now about some of the spots
that have the pull forward window?
Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
Have you seen this?
Speaker 6 (01:15:38):
So?
Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
Where was it?
Speaker 6 (01:15:40):
So?
Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
McDonald's and Clairemont has three windows.
Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
They have the pay window, pay window.
Speaker 4 (01:15:46):
The pickup window, and then in front of the pickup
window there's another window which is the pull forward.
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
It doesn't that defeat the purpose? Can I get around that?
Speaker 4 (01:15:56):
You can get around it's like a little more forward.
So it's kind of catch twenty two because it makes
it easy. As a customer, I love it, but I
figure as a worker, you know, it may encourage more
special orders, which I don't know how you feel about
a special order.
Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
Did you carry Either way.
Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
It is annoying necessarily, like I got my flow going
though and I'm getting people in and out, and as
soon as you go no onion, I'm like, yeah, sorry. Well,
they broke it down and tried to figure out who
has the fastest drive throughout there.
Speaker 10 (01:16:32):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:16:32):
They did a recent survey where they looked at thirty
four different companies drive throughs and they do say take
these results with the grain of AsSalt, because.
Speaker 3 (01:16:42):
They sell the salt. Grain of salt, I don't know whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
That basically by location things can change drafts.
Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
Yeah, because if you included the one that I worked
at over here, you and McDonald's being number one by far.
Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
Yeah that one day.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
But how would you feel, Eddie when you were manager
in Gilroy and they lumped your results in with the.
Speaker 2 (01:17:08):
What a joke? That garbage even THO even know what
they're doing there one day they needed help. That's awful, awful,
old you know what they're doing? Well, walk in and
I'm like, what are you guys doing? You get no system?
Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
Get out of here.
Speaker 4 (01:17:26):
So, based on these results, here are the top three
and the bottom three. And for the record, California comes
in as the state with the longest drive through wait
times and probably takes Yea and Nevada the fastest three
times just if you you know, maybe faster just to
(01:17:48):
drive there. Okay, so who is the slowest? Well, number
three goes to Panera.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
Yeah, there's but they I mean they're making and stuff
that probably takes a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
I know, I've seen the Panera drive through and I've
been like, uh.
Speaker 1 (01:18:05):
We have a drive through in uh okh oh really yeah? Wow,
that's like going to Chipotle drive through, Like that doesn't
make sense to me.
Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Chivola is tougher because you're like adding things and picking things.
But Panera, it is a you or a sandwich or
salad or whatever, but it takes you have to do.
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
It down place.
Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
I agree, drive through the.
Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
It's fast casual, just like Rubios, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
Drive through with a soup. I mean you don't have
to eat it while.
Speaker 10 (01:18:33):
It yep.
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:18:36):
Next we have churches, Chicken at the slowest, and the
number one slowest drive through according to this new study
is Wingstop.
Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
They say wing stop really.
Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
Slow again, like, I've never seen a drive through wingstop.
But uh, it takes time to prepare that stuff. That's
not like because you're doing it to order, you can't
pre make any of that. You know, the sandwich is
a Panera. I don't know what you're going to order.
There's a million different sauces, you know, So you go
to wingstop, what do you want? Lemon pepper? All right,
I gotta put them lemon pepper in. It's a minute, sorry,
(01:19:10):
trying to get through.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
Who is the fastest?
Speaker 4 (01:19:13):
Well, your top three, Number three is Crispy Cream actually.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
Which yeah, obviously.
Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
I would think that would be one number three.
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
It take us so long for it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
Maybe you're getting like a custom coffee or light.
Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
The light's red, the light's read. That means they're fresh.
Oh I didn't there, I didn't know that. I'm a
don donut guy. I don't even know when the lights
red at Krispy Creams outside that means the donuts are fresh? Right,
But they always shouldn't They always know, Like there's a
lot that comes off super fresh just out of the oven,
like super fresh, just out of turning and burning those
things all day. Yeah, I swear to god, I've never
(01:19:47):
heard it. I've heard this, Jamie, look it up, because
now like.
Speaker 6 (01:19:51):
That up.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
I didn't just make it.
Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
Out the red lights on twenty four seven off switch
number two, fast US drive through goes to McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
Okay, okay again, if they would have taken my stats
in the account, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:20:07):
Wow, from one hour and number one not surprising anyone.
Speaker 1 (01:20:13):
Is Chick fil A not surprising anyone?
Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
In all these fast food surveys.
Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
They get it?
Speaker 6 (01:20:18):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
Are they that fast? They are?
Speaker 4 (01:20:20):
Yeah, they're pretty there's like standing outside ready to handle
your shoe.
Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
It should be at the window. Man at the window. No,
it's not. Wow, are you having a good day today? Well,
I hope.
Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
So we're gonna see how many good days a year
we have when we get back on the show A
rocket five three off ring on the show it's walking
five to three. You're having a good day, surely you know?
You're not really sure? Yesterday you have a good day.
Yesterday you had a good day yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:20:52):
Yeah, what consists of a good day?
Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
I feel A good day is not a bad day?
Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
Is no way?
Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
I mean, I mean maybe we all have different thresholds
of what a good day is.
Speaker 1 (01:21:02):
I know what's going on over there.
Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
A good day is not a bad day? Does that
make sense?
Speaker 1 (01:21:08):
Like so if take your take your take your self
help book, shove it. Okay, A good day is not
a bad day? No bad day? Who wrote that? Who
wrote that? Big Sean yourself help book?
Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
But I do recommend his self help you. Yeah. So
like if nothing bad happens, then I happen.
Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
Is it a normal day? Can it be a normal day?
Speaker 6 (01:21:30):
Well?
Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
I think a normal day is a good day.
Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
It's a good day.
Speaker 8 (01:21:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
Well, if you're makes it.
Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
Good, I don't know if you're alive, if you you're healthy.
You're not. Nothing bad is like stressing you.
Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
You're alive and a bad day.
Speaker 4 (01:21:45):
Well, yeah, but something bad is happening, I said, a live,
feeling good, healthy, nothing bad's happening.
Speaker 3 (01:21:51):
Good day. I agree with you, Skuy, Thank you, Emily.
Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
I think it's difficult day.
Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
It was okay, just.
Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
Well you just agreed with Sky which her assessment was
nothing bad happened, something bad happened, So then.
Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
It was a bad day.
Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
Yeah, I would say that, but you just said it
was an okay day. I've had worse, get pretty bad
at my house.
Speaker 9 (01:22:15):
The wrong understand you're still in the evening, the Robert
Reid not getting along.
Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
It was a great day until great day.
Speaker 6 (01:22:24):
It was.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
Day then it's a good day. Chapter six. I don't
really understand.
Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
I don't know if that's where I'm going.
Speaker 1 (01:22:33):
I don't understand any of it.
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Why, what's the what's a good day for you to do?
Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
Something good has to happen for it to be a
good day day, something great has to happen.
Speaker 1 (01:22:45):
I don't know if you guys being of the word
good okay, like yesterday with normal day, nothing bad happened,
nothing great happened. It was it was a normal day,
good day.
Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
No, I did not say that. I said it was
a normal day, good day. Is something thing really good happens?
What could happened?
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
I don't know. Nothing really, it was just a normal day.
Speaker 3 (01:23:05):
Well, good, you played your video game out the family,
you made dinner.
Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
But it happened. Is it a good day? I watched
the All Star game. Is that productive? No? And it
doesn't for me. It doesn't have to be productive at all.
Just something good happens. I want something good to happen.
Speaker 3 (01:23:23):
But I think good things did happen, you got to work.
Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
I wouldn't say good. The normal, normal things happen, not
good things.
Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
So I think normal things are good things. I think
that's what Sky and A.
Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
Yeah, I'm not saying Page Kardashian. Is that what Kim
says in chapter six.
Speaker 3 (01:23:40):
I don't read books anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Well, then this scale is going to be way off
because they ask people how many good days a year
do we have? And if you just think a normal
day is a good day, then you're probably having a
ton of good days because if the bad thing happens,
then yeah it's a bad But why can't you have one?
You can't have one bad thing happen and still be
(01:24:02):
a good day.
Speaker 1 (01:24:03):
I guess so as was having a great day. We
depend and then when bad thing happened that ruined the
whole day, completely ruins the day.
Speaker 3 (01:24:10):
But it depends on what the level of bad thing.
Speaker 1 (01:24:12):
I can't figure out emily level. I've had a great
day and then and then getting an argument with my wife,
it sucks, but I wouldn't Still, I wouldn't say it
the whole day is done, I make up and then
move on.
Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
Oh yeah, I didn't say it ruined my day.
Speaker 9 (01:24:26):
It just probably changed it on the scale of if
it was a really good day or not.
Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
No, no, not again. I got to use your words.
You said it was a bad day. Yeah, you said
you said it was a great day until the incident,
and it was a bad day.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
Okay, that's what you said.
Speaker 3 (01:24:41):
I guess I misspoke.
Speaker 9 (01:24:43):
In hindsight, I wouldn't say yesterday was a bad day
at all, but but it wasn't a.
Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
You said it was the worst day you ever had.
I didn't say that.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:24:51):
You didn't say that.
Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
I don't recall hearing that, but you did.
Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
Say it was it was no longer a good.
Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
Day, I think in hindsight, yeah, I would say.
Speaker 1 (01:24:58):
That because of one thing.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Yeah, because it was unpleasant and kind of made the night.
Speaker 1 (01:25:03):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
So then if that's the scale, how many good daisy
years do you think you have?
Speaker 1 (01:25:10):
Five?
Speaker 9 (01:25:13):
I'm not very hard to please, so I think I'm
easier to have good days as long as bad things.
I mean, you guys don't get excited over little things,
so I would.
Speaker 1 (01:25:22):
Say, but then you also feel poopy over little things
too well.
Speaker 9 (01:25:26):
Depends on the poopy level, though, because I can bounce
back real quick. I'm just gonna say I probably it
depends on it and.
Speaker 6 (01:25:38):
Level.
Speaker 9 (01:25:40):
I'm I hate this conversation. I'd like to leave right now. Absolutely,
this makes it a miserable there.
Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Thank you.
Speaker 9 (01:25:50):
Why you're saying I don't want to go.
Speaker 1 (01:25:55):
On the sky's books? Man? You need it, Sean, I do?
Oh god, I do. All right, Well, I've given up.
This is not a bad day for me.
Speaker 4 (01:26:06):
Well, yeah, they ask people on average how many good
days a year, and that average number is two hundred
and fifty two. So that comes down to about sixty
nine percent of our days are good, which is the
equivalent of about.
Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
Five days a week.
Speaker 4 (01:26:24):
Twenty one days a month we would put in the
good day category.
Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
But the opposite end would be a bad day then, right.
Speaker 4 (01:26:34):
Yeah, I don't know if we have a good day,
bad day, normal day, or like, I don't know what
the different answers are, which is okay day?
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
Yeah, I think I have a lot of okay days.
Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
But then when I said that to that, yesterday was
a day, then that's great.
Speaker 1 (01:26:50):
Yeah, that's a great day.
Speaker 9 (01:26:52):
I don't think I sounded like that. I sound like
I don't know. I feel like we're all confused about day.
Speaker 1 (01:26:58):
You're making it. I am not.
Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
Well. They say most of us know by about eight
thirty in the morning if it's going to be a
good day or not, and they say a.
Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
Lot of that party dies. Well, I think it's eight
fifty three and I'm having a horrible there. Somebody Okay, Well,
we know Sky is gonna have a bad day when
she has to pronounce words.
Speaker 2 (01:27:21):
Oh no, it will get her. It's her kryptonite. We're
gonna see what words people have the toughest time pronouncing,
and we're gonna put Sky to the test when we
get back on the show at Rock with a five
three on the show, it's rock with five three. Uh So,
(01:27:46):
some are a little confused that a young lady on
the radio whose main job is to, you know, read
the news if you will, hi has issues with pronunciation.
Speaker 3 (01:28:00):
Akalotes. We don't need to do that, akalote acolyte. Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
Barb could be either barberque, barbecue, barbarique.
Speaker 3 (01:28:10):
Ye, barberique barbecue.
Speaker 1 (01:28:11):
You were wrong, it was barbaras.
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
And then and then looked at it again and went yep,
no got it yet, that's barbaric, barbaric. Yeah, this could
go on forever because you have some you have a
weird form of almost dyslexia, because if you I'm talking
about sky here, you are looking at a word, you
(01:28:36):
have a really hard time pronouncing it.
Speaker 1 (01:28:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
But then when you look away from the word, you
your brain kicks in and goes, oh, yeah, that's how
I'm supposed to say that word. Yeah, what do you
think that? Have you ever had that checked?
Speaker 4 (01:28:48):
I have not had it checked. I have a theory
on it. I don't know if it's act.
Speaker 1 (01:28:54):
I don't want to hear. So this is not theory.
Speaker 4 (01:28:58):
I'm a bit of a more not the theory, I said,
that's not the theory though, excuse me rude. So here's
my theory. When I was, I want to say, a
sophomore in high school, my mom talked me into taking
an evening speed reading class with Aloe.
Speaker 1 (01:29:23):
What when you were a softmore in high school, you
took a speed reading class with your mom? Yes, explains
a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
Okay, that's not nice. That's not nice.
Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
Because you would do this with your daughter. Yeah, that's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
Of course.
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
So here's the thing I have now found about.
Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
And when she was cool in high school too, By
the way, you know, Eddie, you said it, but nothing
says cool like hanging out with your mom taking a
speed reading.
Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
Well, when you knew about the cool kids in high school,
that's like one of the things.
Speaker 1 (01:29:53):
All those TV shows I watch, all the popular girls
hang out with their moms and do speed reading classes.
Makes sense my theory.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
I did that, right, of course, I did every Tuesday night.
Speaker 9 (01:30:08):
I think it was.
Speaker 3 (01:30:10):
There's no church. So yeah. My theory was that it
would make school like easier, even.
Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
Though I like, like literally, I would have so much
free time because like we'd get assigned a book to
read and I'll be done in ten minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
Everybody else is taken up.
Speaker 4 (01:30:26):
Yeah, that's the thought in my head when I agreed
to take this class with my mom. It turns out
I have later found out that really you shouldn't learn
speed reading until you're like kind of done with your
education and done learning things, because it can kind of
mess you up a little bit, because the way speed
reading works is you don't actually read every word. You're
(01:30:49):
like almost looking for things to jump out at you.
So my thought with not being able to look at
a word and pronounce it is like when I look
at a word, I like to see like four letters.
There could be like twelve letters in the word, and
I see like four and barbarque, barbecue, and then.
Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
I just go those letters and I like and I
fill in the rest.
Speaker 4 (01:31:11):
You know what I mean, because you'll multiple times say
to me, Sky, there's a T in there, or Sky,
there's an R in there, But in my mind, I
don't see that, and I just see the D and
you do, Okay, I should have picked a different letter.
And d's nuts scary, chill out. So I don't know
d's nuts.
Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
Oh my god, I don't know if that's true.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
Chill out.
Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
That's my theory.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
It's a terri theory just issues. So when we come
across the study that is talking about words that most
people have a tough time pronouncing, I'm really worried about
you because you have it in front of you. Yes,
so you might as well try and pronounce these words.
Speaker 4 (01:31:58):
Yeah, and thank God for me that the rest of
America struggles as well, because this list is based on
what people have googled the most over the last year
of how to pronounce blame. Now, some of these you
may find tricky, but other ones, I'm like American school system,
(01:32:19):
what are we?
Speaker 3 (01:32:19):
What are we doing here? I know, I know, podcall
call in the.
Speaker 1 (01:32:23):
Judge, somebody.
Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
I'm we don't have popular the speed reading classes everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
And moms.
Speaker 3 (01:32:32):
Yeah, I think this is everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:32:34):
This is So here's what I'd like you to do, Sky,
I'd like you to try to read the word and
pronounce it. Okay, I'll cover up, otherwise that would be
really tough. Yeah, I'll cover up because they give the phonetic.
Speaker 1 (01:32:48):
Yeah, yeah, you can afterwards. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
No, Honestly, looking at the phonetic spelling messes me up
even more. It's more letters because they're stretched out. Okay,
don't roll your eyes see you.
Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
I'm not blind.
Speaker 4 (01:33:01):
I mean, my name is pronounced things, but my eyes
still kind of work.
Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:33:06):
All right, here we go. Number ten word that we
don't know how to pronounced, hierarchy.
Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
What hierarchy?
Speaker 2 (01:33:16):
You're not You're already not doing what I asked you
to do. You're looking at me saying the word when
I told you do you look at the word pronounce.
Speaker 4 (01:33:24):
Too new There are two their hierarchy like.
Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
You almost are stroking out when you're saying hierarchy.
Speaker 4 (01:33:34):
You get to that first R and then you go, whoa,
here's a second R coming right at you.
Speaker 3 (01:33:37):
Come at your past too many hours? Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:33:40):
Number nine most mispronounced word. We google it, this one.
I think I don't know. I find this one easy.
Massachusetts Again. If I was from another country and never
saw the word Massachusetts before, I would I would tap out?
Speaker 1 (01:33:54):
I would.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
I also think you're seeing it and you already know
what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
Yeah, exactly, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:33:59):
That's the thing your brain has already processed.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
Yes, I've already heard it so many times I can
say it. Number eight entrepreneur said that weird.
Speaker 1 (01:34:09):
I mean, I just.
Speaker 3 (01:34:12):
But I look at it entrepren.
Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
When you looked up, you said it clear. When you
looked at the word, you had the issue.
Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
Number eight entrepreneur.
Speaker 4 (01:34:25):
Stand by, I don't need this fast turn around.
Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
We do entrepreneur.
Speaker 1 (01:34:33):
Youtle too much? Yeah, like you're better than us.
Speaker 9 (01:34:39):
That's how she says the word. Like the tour, like
remember the day on the Green tour?
Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
Yeah, tour.
Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
She does say tour really weird.
Speaker 4 (01:34:46):
I don't feel like I said guns N' Roses Metallica
day on the Green Tour.
Speaker 1 (01:34:55):
Number seven wait, wait, wait, whoa dude?
Speaker 4 (01:34:58):
We have issues pronouncing? Is wister sharer?
Speaker 3 (01:35:09):
Yeah? Number six gyroscope? What the hell is a gyroscope?
Does know what that is?
Speaker 4 (01:35:17):
Why are we even trying to pronounce gyroscope? Why are
we talking abouturoscope?
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Okay, I don't, I don't. I don't know what a
gyroscope is, but okay.
Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
Use it in an alterminator aimeter, in plants. Gyroscope. It
spins the altimeter, the heading heading indicator right now? Thank you? Anymore?
If you know more about that, let me know.
Speaker 3 (01:35:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:35:39):
Number five word that we google the most asking how
to pronounce is genre. Oh I'd be so messed up
if I had never heard of work, I'd go genre Jeenery.
Like looking at it, I'd say jean Ry if I
had never heard that word before.
Speaker 3 (01:35:54):
I'm not joking.
Speaker 1 (01:35:54):
That's sad.
Speaker 3 (01:35:56):
That's not sad.
Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
Number four, Uh, that's how I say it Porsche.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
But I guess it's not actually Porscha.
Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
Porsche, right, is it?
Speaker 3 (01:36:06):
I think it is Porsche Porsche.
Speaker 9 (01:36:08):
They say it's a it's a step that has had
a Porsche and session he'd say Porsche.
Speaker 4 (01:36:14):
Oh no, you're right, it is Porsche. It's not Porsche.
Porsche is wrong. Porscha is correct. So actually say that
one correct. But I always think I say it wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:36:23):
So they give you the Porsche.
Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
No they didn't. Okay, he sold it.
Speaker 1 (01:36:30):
That's got weird.
Speaker 3 (01:36:33):
He's really sad about it. Probably why true? Why?
Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
Number three things we do a little because we don't
know how to say is schedule. Now they believe this
is because of the Great British Baking Show because they
say scheduable. I don't know how British people say schedule,
do they Yeah, British people say schedule or something like that.
Yeah yeah, yeah, So people now don't are confused. They
(01:36:58):
don't know how to say it so schedule here in America.
Number two, This one's tough a s I E. Took
me a while to get that one down. Took me
a while.
Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
I looked up, didn't look at the word to say.
Speaker 1 (01:37:13):
S I E A.
Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
I forget how I like I have to say it like.
Speaker 7 (01:37:20):
Yeah, it took me a while to look out look
out a kick.
Speaker 1 (01:37:28):
And the number one word very aggressive.
Speaker 4 (01:37:31):
We have trouble saying. I say it multiple ways. I
say it often, and that is crusalt.
Speaker 1 (01:37:38):
No, no, I hate the cruise you in there just
say croissant.
Speaker 4 (01:37:44):
In English, it's often pronounced crusalt cruisant.
Speaker 1 (01:37:49):
You're the only human?
Speaker 10 (01:37:51):
Are you?
Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
H D s A h N T.
Speaker 4 (01:37:56):
In the article crusault, say that's how I'm they're saying
that's how we were supposed to produce. Well, they're saying
we get it wrong because it's a French word and
it's supposed to be quassant a sae.
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
So we all say that one wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:38:11):
Cruise songed, I know, but you say cruise song yeah, And.
Speaker 9 (01:38:16):
We all know the correct way to say mozzarella, right, Oh,
I always Italian.
Speaker 1 (01:38:30):
The Major League Baseball All Star Game went down last
night and it ended in one of the craziest ways ever.
We're going to see how the game ended next. In
Sports Dirt.
Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
Had the Major League Baseball All Star Game last night,
and it looked like the National League was finally gonna
run away with it. And now they had lost ten
of the past eleven games to the American League, and
they jumped out to the early lead. They got on
board first when the dem back to Tell Marte had
a two run double in the first. Then there was
(01:39:03):
a little bit of an interesting situation with Manny Machado.
He kind of made history as he was the first
guy called out using that new ABS system, the automatic
walls of strikes. There was a pitch thrown that was questionable,
pitcher challenged it, they reviewed it quickly and it was
a strike, so he was out.
Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
Wow weird.
Speaker 3 (01:39:24):
Yeah, that is strange.
Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
They did the thing where they tapped their heads.
Speaker 3 (01:39:27):
That what it is.
Speaker 9 (01:39:29):
What's the general feedback on it, like from the poets world?
Speaker 1 (01:39:33):
I don't know. I mean it's going to be I
mean they're gonna do it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:36):
People were freaking out over it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
No, No, I think they know what's coming.
Speaker 1 (01:39:40):
So yeah, I mean it should be in baseball already.
I don't know why it's not.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
They just don't want to slow the game down even more,
I guess, and so I so you gotta get it right, Yeah,
I mean, if it's that, you know, atrocious of a call,
which some of them are, some of mart you know,
are you.
Speaker 3 (01:39:56):
Allowed a certain amount of challenges?
Speaker 9 (01:39:57):
Is that that's restricted to Oh, it's to a game
and if you if you get it, reap it or something.
Speaker 6 (01:40:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
They explained this all during the game, A surprised as
she wasn't watching it such a big baseball fan.
Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
I mean, I was watching, but I was also cooking
dinner at the damn.
Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
HOOKI wasn't in. That's why I know you love.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
Three years ago. I enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
Don having a great year. Don't love the the Mets.
Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
Pete Alonso then hit a three run home run with
Fernando Tuttis Junior on board to put the National League
up five to nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:40:30):
The d Backs Corby Carroll added a solo shot to
put them up six to nothing. National League's up six
to nothing, game game over right, Yep, that's so damn it.
That's what I stopped watching and the American League started
to come back.
Speaker 4 (01:40:42):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
The Padres. Adrian Modijone didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Have a great first All Star appearance as he had
a couple of guys get on and then the A's
Brent Rooker went deep to cut the lead in half.
Robert Swarez came in to close it up, but the
al scored to get it to six to five, so
then they in Mets closer and when Diaz who gave
up the additional run to let the American League tie
(01:41:05):
it at six. So now what I mean, I was
trying to remember, like, what are we doing here? I forget.
I know we weren't doing X ray innings anymore because
that went by the wayside. I forgot what the We're
just going to tie piano people didn't like that. Oh no,
we're going to a swing off home run derby style.
So apparently the managers turn in their sheet of who
(01:41:29):
they want to be in the home run derby. If
the game went to X ray innings. Now most of
the starters had already showered and left, so they show, hey,
Otani's they're in judges, all the you know, the dumpers
and of the world like they're they're they're not available,
So you went with all like kind of the reserve guys.
You know, so Alonso was going to be one of
(01:41:49):
the guys who was going to hit, you know, former
home run Derby champion a couple of times. But it
was Kyle Schwarber from the Phillies who actually put the
game away. He saw three pitches, all three went out
of the yard and he had the led the National
League to a win four to three in the swing off,
and so he was named the game's m V POW,
which like, wait a minute, I went over to and yeah,
(01:42:12):
we you know.
Speaker 6 (01:42:13):
Like.
Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
He did save the day. He did save the day.
So I overall, I thought it was a pretty fun event. Yeah,
I like, I enjoyed it. I loved it. I would
ask Emily, but she clearly didn't watch it.
Speaker 2 (01:42:23):
Did I was the ludicrous performance before the game?
Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
Did you bring that?
Speaker 9 (01:42:30):
I turned it on at five five at L but
I saw.
Speaker 1 (01:42:34):
We are the best part of them standing there. Well,
you missed the introductions though, it's the best part of
the game. Lu And I know she says she's a
baseball fan.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
I'm a stunned. I thought she was a Luta fan.
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
Huge fan.
Speaker 1 (01:42:48):
Clearly, Jermaine dupri was there. It was great it was great,
one of the best.
Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
Life Now you're.
Speaker 1 (01:42:59):
Wow, wef there you go. That is sports Dirk for
it today.
Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
You guys know the horror movie Annabelle, about that creepy doll.
You know, the doll's real, it's a real doll. Well,
we're gonna see what happened with the real haunted Annabelle
doll that people are freaking out about. Come out next
on the show A rock with a five three on
the show, it's Rock five to three. So, I don't
(01:43:26):
know if you guys ever seen any of the Conjuring movies.
Have any of you guys seen those movies? Yeah, I
know the horror movies, but I've seen the Conjuring movies.
I have not seen the Annabelle movies, which is a
kind of like a spin off of the Conjuring, because
that the Conjuring is a true story.
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
Yeah, the couple in it are real as a real
couple who would do these paranormal investigations and then like
these crazy things legitimately happened to them. Well I say legitimately,
I guess.
Speaker 3 (01:44:00):
According to that.
Speaker 2 (01:44:00):
According to that, yes, and then they made these movies
from him. I think the nun is also a spinoff
of the conjur it's part of that world. Yeah, yeah, really.
And then so Annabelle is a real doll that was
allegedly haunted and they took it out of the house
and have brought it back to their place, which is
like a like almost like a horror museum almost of
(01:44:22):
like these creepy artifacts and stuff like that that they
have at their place. And Annibal Annabell doesn't look like
the doll from the movies. It looks more like a
raggedy hand doll than it does like the doll from
the movie.
Speaker 4 (01:44:34):
Yeah, but they said, due to like licensing and stuff,
they didn't go with the raggedy an doll. It is
a raggedy and all right, Yeah, but in real life,
you're correct, is oh, it really is. Yeah, it's actually
a raggedy.
Speaker 2 (01:44:44):
The Annabelle doll is beyond creepy. The actual dolphrom the movie. Yeah,
but that thing is like, well, of course that thing
is haunted. Yeah, but just a raggedy an doll like whatever.
But apparently this thing was you know, super harm however,
that's why they created these movies from it. So that's
the origin of Annabelle. Okay, yeah, yeah, Well because it's
(01:45:06):
a real doll and the couple from the Conjuring had it.
They you know, I guess, give tours of these artifacts
that they've found that are allegedly haunted and stuff like that. Well,
there is a guy who is part of the crew
that does these paranormal investigations for the Conjuring couple and
(01:45:28):
he again you know obviously he's working there. Yeah, and
was given a tour of you know, people for the artifacts.
Speaker 6 (01:45:35):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:45:35):
Well, you know, so this is super close but a
little different. So this guy super fascinated with this couple
who had the annabel doll in all the movies, so
he became like they became his.
Speaker 3 (01:45:45):
Mentors, and so he learned under them.
Speaker 4 (01:45:48):
And then the public has such a love for these
horror movies and this story, they decided to allow him
to take the dolls on tour.
Speaker 1 (01:46:00):
So like, oh, I thought it was.
Speaker 4 (01:46:01):
A traveling tour where he's in charge of bringing the.
Speaker 2 (01:46:06):
Doll the artifacts and stuff from.
Speaker 4 (01:46:08):
City to city, but it's specifically the Annabelle doll.
Speaker 1 (01:46:12):
Is the tours with the doll.
Speaker 4 (01:46:14):
The tour is called Devils on the Run Tour, and
one of its most recent stop is actually in a
city that's known for being haunted, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, because over
fifty thousand people died there in a Civil War battle.
Speaker 3 (01:46:32):
So it's no.
Speaker 4 (01:46:34):
Super haunted stuff to happen in that city. And that
was where this tour went with the doll.
Speaker 2 (01:46:41):
Okay, So guy is you know, bringing the Annabelle doll
to Gettysburg and gonna you know, people are gonna come
check it out and stuff like that. While during a
tour something happened and people are freaked out. Now, yeah,
because it is kind of unexplained.
Speaker 4 (01:46:58):
Yeah, so the Annabelle, you know, like I said, is
the highlight of this tour. Everybody wants to see it,
but people are freaked out by Annabelle because of her history.
And so he basically in all the ads for this
tour would say specifically that Annabelle is being kept when
the people come in in a special box that will
(01:47:18):
like keep the demon inside and basically protect you so
you will be faith because.
Speaker 1 (01:47:29):
I mean, how stupid is that this box? How do
they know that?
Speaker 6 (01:47:33):
How do they know.
Speaker 1 (01:47:35):
It's plastic? Blessed? Blessed by what a priest? Why? Why
a priest?
Speaker 3 (01:47:41):
Because the devil's in it, because the.
Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
Devil's in it. Yeah, but why just that religion? What
if you don't believe in that, you need a different
you need Buddha? Do you need a buddh like you
know what I'm saying? Not really like if you don't
believe in Christianity? What did that? Would a priest press?
It wouldn't work.
Speaker 4 (01:47:59):
I don't know, like it's just a stupid Maybe they
had every religion, you know, every I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
What the what they did to the box.
Speaker 4 (01:48:05):
I know this guy was swearing you will be safe
because Annabel is being kept in a special box. Well,
so they end up doing the Gettysburg date, which people
said was really creepy.
Speaker 3 (01:48:18):
I mean, this was a sold out tour.
Speaker 4 (01:48:19):
Any city this goes to completely sold out, can't get
a ticket.
Speaker 1 (01:48:23):
Do you think in like twenty years someone was going
to be like I was there at the Devil on
the Run, Tiket.
Speaker 4 (01:48:32):
Guns n' Roses, Metallica day on the Green Tour. Well,
they did the Gettysburg date and you know, like most
people who are part of a tour, you pack up
all the stuff and then when your you know, event
is over, you go back to your hotel room, you
get a good night's sleep, and then you head onto
(01:48:52):
the next city the next morning. Well that's exactly what
this guy who was left in charge of the Annabelle
doll did. And next thing you know, this guy is
found dead in his hotel room.
Speaker 3 (01:49:08):
I don't know. I don't know if she was out
of the box.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
I don't know if.
Speaker 3 (01:49:12):
Just for the audience, a heart attack. It's could have.
Speaker 1 (01:49:16):
I mean, guy in his but why would he have
that heart attack? Health?
Speaker 3 (01:49:21):
Good health?
Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
Early fifty What about the box as of maybe you
have to like do a certain prayer every time closed
box and then you forgot how many hail Mary's.
Speaker 3 (01:49:36):
Okay, do not do that? That's really.
Speaker 1 (01:49:40):
I think.
Speaker 4 (01:49:42):
So as of now the death is completely unexplained and.
Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
Unclear death like was the cause of to say, No,
that's what I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:49:50):
Saying, cause of death. As of now, there's got to
be a cause.
Speaker 3 (01:49:54):
I mean, they're going to do.
Speaker 4 (01:49:55):
A deeper autopsy, but on the surface, just no idea.
Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
All death fifty four that good man. Yeah, so Annabil
killed him?
Speaker 3 (01:50:04):
Yes, insane?
Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
Yep, righte the movie right, the movie without a doubt?
Speaker 9 (01:50:13):
