Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce our
assistant producer Jamie in the Big Boys studio. This is
a big deal. This is a big deal. Jamie doesn't
get a lot of standalone segments, but here you are.
How you feel? Are you nervous a little bit? You should?
You should be. This is a big deal. You talk
(00:21):
on the radio all the time. Now I look at
this guy, he's got his own chips and stuff and
one am. Look at that an hour? Yeah, yeah, they
can give you a four for real.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Well I got the Sunday night shift, and then during
the week one hour, you got the rubber room, rubber room,
the rubbers room.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
That was we're just bouncing stuff off, new.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Music, we're bouncing off yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, that's hot. I know another chick that would do that.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Oh what we got?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah she was hot back in the day.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Doing Manatory Metallica. What do you got?
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Yeah, you can't call it out and then find to
click like that's a disaster there. This is a disaster
and the station that gets around the worst.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
The worst ruined it.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Did you listen to did you listen to sky her
old clips? To learn how to be on the radio.
We know she was a bad bitch.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
I will, I will then already know you like him?
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Don't do that. Don't do that, you will get fired.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Here's some music and Friday, nobody's watching.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Got it? You need sass?
Speaker 3 (01:35):
You're talking?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Okay, sas?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
What was that at the end of its Friday?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Nobody's watching.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I don't care.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
I'm here.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
If you don't like it, switched the station. Yeah, yeah, Jamie,
it's midnight. That didn't hit the same I didn't hit
the same Yeah, okay U.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
So Jamie's in here because Jamie mentioned something to us
off the air kind of flippantly, and nobody could understand it,
Like we all just looked at him, dumbfounded of like
that's that's can't be true, because if that's true, we've
lost all hope with this next generation. It is what
how old are you Jamie? Fourteen?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Twenty three?
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Come on? Are you twenty three? Now?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Come no way?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Two thousand and two.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
When I graduated high school.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
You could be your kid, MoMA. Yeah, I mean you
were doing some wild stuff in high school, so I
actually wouldn't put it past it. He is Yeah, yeah,
daddy's razor, who's your who's the baby daddy?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Alright, was the name? I forget which what anyway? So
Jamie mentions this thing that him and his girlfriend do,
and I don't understand it.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Now.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I got young kids too, I got you know, sixteen
year old. I know she doesn't do this, So I
don't know if it's skipped a generation or if this
is just weird Jamie, I don't know. I've never heard
of this before, and it is all based on how
they watch movies. So what is it that you and
your girlfriend do? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
So my girlfriend, she lives in LA. So we're kind
of like medium long distance, so we don't really get
to hang out a lot like normal couples that live
in San Diego together do. So we like try to
find like things to do, and all of it's over
the computer. So we end up watching movies.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
But a lot of face timing.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Uh yeah, a lot of facetiming, a lot of watching
movies over the computer.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
So like you're in your different cities, but you're watching
the movie together.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
So she'll be in LA and then we'll call over
the computer, we'll share our screen and we'll just watch
a movie together sometimes.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Wow, you guys doing other stuff? Yeah, Hey, I don't
know how it works.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
I was in a longest relationship once. You gotta do
what you gotta do. She lived in Boston, out of
the San Diego. Whoa, yeah, but these longest relationships never
work out. I mean, my brother law moved to Seattle.
His girlfriend's in Denver. Yeah, I'm only a two hour
(04:22):
drive away, so only Yeah, unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Okay, you're fine.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Weird that she doesn't want to move down here.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Stop it anyways, So at least like about once maybe
twice a week, we'll just be like, hey, let's watch
this show this movie. And at first it was weird
to me too because I didn't learn about this until
she like told me about it. But it was honestly,
saves a lot of time and we get a lot
(04:51):
of content out of the way. But we'll start a
movie and we'll just put it on like two time speed,
and you know, instead of watching one movie, could get
through like two or three in one evening.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Wait, two times, but how can you watch a movie? Yeah,
at twice the speed like they because they do you
get audio is a sound messed up?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Uh No, it's they talk fast, right, Yeah, sounds like
they're talking fast. It's not like the high pitched like
what you would think when you're like fast forwarding something.
It's just normal people talking a lot faster.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Sometimes like by mistake. I'll be listening to a podcast
and I'll hit the two times speed and it will
just and it will be buy mistake and it would
just be a little off where I'm like, it's you
don't even tell but you. But but then you, after
you listen for like ten minutes, you realize, why are
they talking so fast?
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Well, that's audio. This is visual. Yeah, you'll know that
it wasn't. But for me, there's no like breaths. That's
the big difference. The breaths are all gone.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, there's no breaths. They move a little.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Bit, there's no context. If you're watching a movie the
subtitles what so yeah, oh this is never be able
to say this really.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
And there's certain genres that I feel like, like, especially
like the horror genre wat those like dragging having a
scene where there's like kind of suspense to it or
like like there's a reason and if it's two time
speed lord, if.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
You watch in a comedy you're missing comedic timing. Yeahs
a genius of happy Gilmore. Two, you're gonna miss.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
So much pretty funny two time speed.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
No way, that's insane And if you start laughing, you're
gonna miss the next joke. Well, yeah, luckily I'm reading
at the same time. But that's not that's not gonna
hit us. Funny how they say so weird?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
It is so weird.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
So you said this was your girlfriend's suggestion at first.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, so I never used to do it. And then
one day she mentioned how she had finished a entire
like Sherry series in about like a day while she
was cleaning her room. I was like, what are you
talking about. It's like ten episodes and an hour long each,
and she was like, well, I knocked it out in five.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
But what is the need to like get through something
rather than just enjoy it, Like, what is that need
of like I gotta finish this well and I can
do more.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
It started off with she's got like a bajillion tabs
open up on her computer of movies and TV show
she wants to watch because she's like into film and
all that. So she has a long list and she's like, well,
I gotta get through the list, so she'll knock out
like three movies.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
You can't. You can't tell me you're enjoying that.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
At first, I was in. At first, I was like,
you're crazy, you need to stop. And I took over
the streaming for a while.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Daddy got in there.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Who well, the streaming service is still time speed. So
I was like, okay, we're we're gonna be I'm going
to start showing. I'm like, oh, it's it's lagging on
my end. I can't see what's going on. You want
me to just stream? And I got in there. But
then after a while, like there are certain things that
weren't available on my streaming services, so she allegedly found
(08:00):
another way to watch these movies. Those places do allow
for a two time speed, so I had no control.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
You're just sitting there and you're in and you're and
you're telling me you enjoy it like that.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
I'm used to it, and it makes sense. Now it
doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense. What's the rush?
What's the rush? I live with my parents. She lives
with her parents.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
You never know when her parent's just gonna be like, hey,
I need you come down. And then we're stuck in
the middle of a movie dinner, like we're eating dinner
or my dad something. Why don't you guys move in together? Yeah,
but like if you can know how much a studio
apartment is, Yeah, but I mean I don't know if
(08:46):
you're paying it for it?
Speaker 1 (08:46):
We pay them here?
Speaker 2 (08:47):
I think we don't.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, because too, Like when I'm watching a series, I
don't want it to end if I'm enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
I like it, and I like to move fast. I
but you this is the time you like chill out.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
And it's like, are you guys like getting tested on
these movies? Is that why you have to watch all
of them at once?
Speaker 2 (09:08):
It's just it just there's My list is also very
long because I didn't watch a lot of movies or
like I stopped watching TV for a good amount of
time just because that was like the awkward switch from
cable to streaming. So I missed out on a lot.
So there's just a lot that we need to watch.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
And I'm like, well, like again, what you have a lifetime,
You're gonna get it. It's like it's a Pokemon, I
could catch them all, Like relax, That's what I'm trying
to do. Okay, need in there, there's a lot you
want to watch?
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Why is it there's a lot.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
We need deep.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
There's a lot of he's out there, Like for the
longest time, I hadn't seen like Pirates of the Caribbean, so.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
You need to watch I mean, the nuances of Orlando
Blue are pretty.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
People say that I look like him, so I'm like, okay,
I need.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Think you look more like Morgan and Big Brother?
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah that you keep saying that I still don't know
who that is? Is that something I need to watch?
Big Brother?
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Then I know, okay, speed two hour episodes too, right,
So there's okay. So there's some shows that are super
long or movies that, like, you know, they throw out
like another three hour movie. It's like, do I really
want to sit here for three hours?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Not bad?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
An hour and a half.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
I'm wondering if my daughter and her friends do this,
because there's like multiple times where my husband he always suggests,
you know, movies that he loves that he wants her
to watch, and she spanglish Spanglish yeah, and the Chef,
I don't know that's a good movie. Yeah, so uh,
but her commentary most of the time when we want
(10:50):
to watch a movie, is that's too long?
Speaker 1 (10:52):
You know?
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Because she's like the TikTok generation. So I wonder if
the younger generation, if a lot of them are doing
because this is the first I've heard of that.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
It's madness. It's mad I can't even.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Wrap my head around it.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
It feels weird.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
And the fact that she's in film, you would think
she would appreciate the.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Artistry and how the artist intended. Thank you exactly, thank
you now you're getting now. I'm damn Scorsese didn't want
me to watch Good Fellows in two times speaking.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Who's fine, it's Tommy, It's a shiny box that doesn't
hit the same Jamie. Figure it out, man bro, I
don't like this. Sorry, alright, man I
