Speaker 1 (00:01):
So we are talking about and remembering Ozzy Osbourne this morning. Uh,
you know, shocking news yesterday, shocking and not shocking all
at the same time. Yeah, you know, obviously not in
the best health, but still when a legend like that passes,
it's it's a shock to the system. And so we
were talking about Ozzy Osbourne and and kind of my

(00:24):
connection with Ozzy being able to do this one on
one spotlight interview that aired on national rock radio about
five years ago, and it was it was a surreal experience.
It is like such a blurb because it was so crazy.
It was in front of like three hundred Ozzie fans.
It was it was wild. And then, like I said,
the whole thing was, you know, talking about his legendary career,

(00:48):
talking about his catalog, and we went we went back
as far as Black Sabbath stuff. We talked about Sabbath
the first time ever recording with Black Sabbath. You know,
that whole thing was super interesting. And then we'd play
a song and then we'd come back talk about that
song and it was it was wild. And then watching
the fans, like you know, loving the music, and then
Ozzy's sitting there going like, oh, okay, you know you

(01:08):
still like that song?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Are you like crazy turning?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Now?

Speaker 1 (01:10):
That's cool. I saw some comments on on your Instagram
post that there was some of our listeners that got
the chance to go and sit in the audience said
that it was wild as well. Yeah. I mean, like
I said, it's all a blur. I barely remember, you know,
half of it, Like I'm reliving it right now too.
And so I don't recall any of this. But we
have clips from the interview of me talking to Ozzy,

(01:31):
and so this is great because I mean, I haven't
heard this since then, so I'm fascinated to hear these clips.
So this is me talking to Ozzy about how he's
spanned generations. His music has spanned generations from all the
way back into like the sixties to now. It is
remarkable that you've spanned so many generations.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Truly is blowing away by the whole. I imagine it
is still a recach of them. Freud and the age
was like five, so fifty five, you know, incredible.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
It is wild, man, But it's it's one of the
things that makes you an icon is that you know
you have people out there that last for a song
or two. Nobody's lasting this long and doing putting out
great music like you still are. Yeah, and that crazy
like your voice. That doesn't make sense. It's weird. It
doesn't make sense. And then we were talking about he

(02:28):
had just done a new record and there was like
some weird alien I think it was Planet number nine
or something like that, that song, and it had something
to do with aliens. And I think I asked Ozzie,
like if he believed in aliens? Do you believe in aliens? Aussie?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
But if if we're the only people things in the universe,
we've got to be mad. I mean, it's there's there's
thousands of planets out there. There's gotta be a worm
or something.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Carl, because genius. Unbelievable? Word is that? Uh? And then
they do this thing and now hearing me say the
word icon, I think that's what the thing was called,
like the Icons or something like that. I don't say,
I don't remember. I like half of this. This is
crazy to me. Uh. And so they did this thing
and it was called the Mystery Box, and they would

(03:21):
do this with different you know, the different artists and
stuff like that. So I didn't know what was in
Ozzie's mystery box? But I had to present it to him.
Oh so it's a mystery to you as well. I
was mystery to both of us. I had no idea
what was in there, and they they told me before
and it's really cool, Ozzie, we really like this. And
I go, okay, cool, And so I presented him with
the mystery box, and this is what was inside of it.

(03:43):
All right, what about this? Oh my god, you know who?
That is?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
My wife and I the love of my life. She
really is the love of my life. Nobody else could
put out in my own life.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Look at how young you guys are. This picture was
young ones. Where was this at where Hawaii? I could
see it with the late That's awesome. So in the
mystery box was his wedding photo and there was a
bunch of other stuff in there. But I mean that
when you hear that reaction, like what a genuine reaction
that you had there? Oh yeah, they love each other

(04:19):
like so much. And Sharon watched him like a hawk,
all like a hawk. And she was off stage. She
was off stage, and I could see her standing the
whole time. It wasn't like she disappeared. I mean she
watched him like a hawk, and so yeah, it was.
It was wild man, it was, it was. It was
a crazy, crazy thing in my career that I will

(04:40):
never forget obviously, but you know, just remembering the guy
and uh, you know, trying to trying to figure it
all out now today. So we will be playing Ozzie
music today in honor of Ozzy Osbourne. So you'll be
hearing some Sabbath and Ouzzy throughout the show all morning long.
