Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here is what usually will happen when I go out
to dinner with Thorn. Well, we go out as a
show sometimes, and you know, it's a little time where
I would like to step in and I will say,
you know, tell me, guys, what will normally happen is
(00:20):
Emily and Sky do the oh are you sure? Thank
you so much, even though they both knew exactly what's
going on. Then does this move where he's reaching for
his pocket, like where his wallet is?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
He might not even have a wallet.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
I have a wallet.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Travel I being honest, and he'll do the reach for
the wall? Sure you because you want me to one
of these times, I'm gonna accept and I'm gonna go okay,
like the shock on his face.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well, I mean it will be.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Worth because it's certainly a nicer dinner, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Please remember to do it. No, if I do it,
that means you're going to be in on it too,
because you you guys, You guys offer, you guys always offer.
Let's let's put forward, not just me and you, let's
play for what I'm paying for. These two chicks wait,
I'll put I'll put me and you wait.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
So basically, you just pay for your meal.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Yeah, so that happened from time to time, you know,
And even if it's another thing, if it's a business
dinner or something, you know, and they know they're gonna pay,
he does that move.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Like yeah, because in August we always go to a
radio thing and we always get taken out of the dinner.
But I still feel like I need to pretend to pay.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
You don't want me to. You want me to? No, no, no, no, no, no,
we got it.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
I'm not sure I have ever been out a dinner
where goes you know what I got?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
One time? One time we did. When I first got
hired on the show. I took the show out to dinner.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Is that right, Emily Old? Was it?
Speaker 3 (02:13):
My parents came? It was a big deal. It was
a big deal. No, that was definitely, definitely. I was
actually there. You weren't there yet. You definitely with your
parents for something maybe, but I didn't pay.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
The fact that we can narrow it down.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I remember this because it was a big deal for
me at the time, because I had no money, and
also I rarely came across the picture we took. Because
I've been going through my pictures making photo albums and
a photo album. Guy, I rarely came across this picture
of the me of us with my parents in old Town. Yeah,
so Sky Sky wearing exactly the same outfits. This was
like eleven years ago. So it doesn't happen very often.
(02:55):
But when it does, you know, obviously it's a big deal.
A deal you know, Well, it's a real treat, it
really is. Uh.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Well, I guess there was a situation this past weekend
where four offered to treat like.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Who so I had my wife's pregnant obviously, so then
thank you the boy. Uh and my my father in
law and my stepmother in law guess are in town. Yeah,
and they're great. Greg and Ded love Niner. Niner and
Ded and we went out to dinner and we were
actually going to the comedy show downtown at the Yellow
(03:32):
Door to see Brent Earns. Before the show, we wanted
to get dinner, so I said it was downtown dinner. Yeah,
so I said, I said to Haley, as we're going there,
I'm going to pay for dinner.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
I want to pay for dinner. Oh, well, you feel like,
are you okay?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I just felt like, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Because we knew the comedy tickets were on the house.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Well, they didn't know that. I just felt because I
wanted to buy lunch. We went to Tacos olt go
for lunch, which is so good, and go for lunch
and I wanted to buy lunch, but Greg snuck in
and paid for paid for most of the tacos, and
I was like, I wanted to do it.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Because it's cheaper.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
I wouldn't say that, I would just say yeah. I
stopped trying to protect so I was like, damn it.
So I had to get in there. I got it.
I gotta pay for for dinner and.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
No reason, just just to showing off a little bit.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Definitely Father's Day weekend. It's more like, I don't know.
I feel like whenever in laws, my parents or my
in laws are in town, I just I have to
I should pay for one dinner. I feel like it's
the right thing to do, right would you say an usually?
But like I did anything for Haley's mom when she's
in town. I did anything for my dad, and my
dad always does the somebody take a picture. This is crazy.
(05:00):
Things cap the same bit. Every time he's right, he's
not right, I do it. Hey, he gets a meal
every time he sees me. At this point, we're still
doing the same bit. He's gonna do it in a
couple of weeks. I guarantee it in Florida.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Anyway, So we're going out to dinner. Went to a
nice restaurant downtown and I notice on the menu I'm seeing,
I'm looking at everything is more expensive nowadays, to the
point where it's insane. Like bread's forty dollars, it's insane.
And I see on the menu. Now, I I know
that no one's going to order this. I know no
(05:34):
one's going to order the one hundred and thirty dollars steak,
or like the one hundred and fifty dollars surfing turf,
or like the the ninety dollars ribbi. So you're like
a steakhouse, yeah, and I know no one's going to
order that. I do like a ribbi. Yeah. Hundred years too,
those are different, a hundred years A mistake. Sorry, sorry,
(05:58):
I'm sorry. So I so I like to I like
that I see that stuff, and I know that no
one's gonna order it, but but you never know. So
we're all looking at the menu going through.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
And what do you want?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
What do you want?
Speaker 3 (06:15):
What are you gonna get? No one ever knows what
they're gonna get, even though my wife's looked at the
menu five hundred times already. She's like Emily, like a
week in advance. Yeah, and I go, oh man, I
make a point of pointing out, man, that's surf and
turf and this rivi. No one's getting that right. Hold on,
no one's getting that right. Is it already been stated
(06:35):
that you were going to be paying? Yeah, I said, guys,
dinners on me before we before we got in the car.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
So then when we were all sitting down, I went, oh, man, crazy,
I start talking about how crazy the prices are recent
and like the surcharges, and and then I I did
my whole bit sky about how it's not right that
I get charged. I get taxed on bonuses, but waiters
at tax on tips. So I did that bit, and
(07:02):
then and then I said, I can't believe how expressive
the rabbi is. No one's getting that though, right, Like
I said, like jokingly, so you're putting parameters. People can
say when you're treating. I wouldn't say you're treating. I
wouldn't say parameters. More of like you could get it.
(07:24):
That's what you say, really high right now? That but said,
but I'm just letting you know. I said that. I
was looking at Haley and I go, oh god, that
surfing turf it was. I'm sure it was great. We
can't get that.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
If Haley said, no, I really think I want that
surfing turf.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yeah, no, sounds super yummy.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Hopefully she wouldn't say.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
That the baby wants it. She would actually say I'd go,
I'd go, I go, we could split its hungry super
mama's hungry, I would say. I would say, mommy, mommy,
ate one hundred and fifty dollars hungry. I'll tell you
that right now. Oh, so you are putting parameters.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I know for.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Hayleyley, I just wanted up make it known that, hey,
this is pretty expensive.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
How comfortable would you be if you knew somebody was
treating and they go, this is crazy, look at these prices.
Nobody's gonna get that, right, I would be so uncomforted.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Well, you got to say jokingly, right, it does, and
what it automatically does. I swear to god what it
automatically does is I'm uncomfortable what I'm ordering. And now
I'm gonna go chicken. Yep, I'm gonna. I'm gonna so
I want no.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Honestly, if someone said that, I would then look for
what the least expensive thing on the menu is and
be like, okay, I'm just gonna no, no, okay, But
it's not the word pretending it like somebody else.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Nobody would do this, that's true. Old body would do
this only cheap? Would you ruin the treat? We had
a good dinner, you ruin the treat? We had a
good dinner. I got the comedy tickets. Okay, those were
free from bread.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
So I mean the whole thing of treating is like,
I'm taking care of this. This is great, you guys
deserve this whatever, and then you sort of get the
praise like, oh, thank you so much. That's great anytime.
But it's so it's not any time. I remember, take
a picture, God, I take a picture as soon as
(09:34):
you put parameters on it. Now, look at these port
ladies over here, there're starving. Takes the fun out of
their starving it.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
You know.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Emily, she likes to try a little bit of everything,
a little bit everything. No appetizer for you, ship dessert,
forget it.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Is it fun anymore? We can do dessert.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Because we want it.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Well, we didn't. Nobody ordered that hundred for service. We
got extra, We got extra money. You please say this
next time we go to our nice dinner, and.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
I'm gonna put parameters only on thorn.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Ok Yeah, I know, go crazy when you pay, you always.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Get soup, you always you know, you know, I only
sounds good.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
I only go crazy when we know where the four
of us aren't paying. Then I get this.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
The guy ordered a seafood tower for himself for himself,
like like the guy who for dinner is a good
friend of mine. He still brings it up to this
day every time. Every time he goes, he's off offer
to get you a seafood tower.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
He should have put parameters on it. He should have said,
no one's gotten the seafood tower.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Right.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
That's crazy, And I'm like, Noed, that's one of the
cheap notes I've ever heard you do. That's pretty bad. Whatever, Okay,
