Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, this is a bitter sweet moment here, it's more
bitter than it is sweet.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
The worst day of my life, well your life.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
One of the greatest moments in our show's history happened.
And we talked about this before. It was a behind
the scenes moment. Yeah, it really was. Sky gets really
weird and uncomfortable around people sometimes and it comes out
in very uncomfortable, awkward ways. And we talked about the
(00:32):
very famous binder Day situation before. Well, binder Day has arrived,
but unfortunately for us, it did not happen in the
same way. We ain't done yet. It's time for the
one podcast year, completely uncensored and uncting filtered except for
(00:53):
that part the show's after show arts. Now, you know,
it's something we look forward to every year. It was
one of the greatest moments of our lives. Honestly, you know, uh,
binder Day.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I mean, out of all the weird, uncomfortable talk I've
done in this room, like not fan of the word home,
this is how I walk when I have five minutes. Like,
out of all the weird things I've said, I'm surprised
this one has stuck with you.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
You have a weird running commentary in your head and
it just spews out of you and instead of like
you know, most people have filters, you have no ability
to let that filter go and stop things. And so,
which she's referring to. The the not a fan of
the word home happened with a comedian. What was that?
(01:50):
It was the comedian who was in the Super Troopers.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Shambler.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah, he was in studio and Sky is a big
fan of the true what are they club Lizard or
what are the dead Broken Lizard? And she was trying
to make commentary with this guy off the air and
we were supposed to take a picture with him, and
Sky was talking, making weird small talk with him, and
(02:17):
she goes, she goes, where's home for you? And he goes, well,
I don't really have the home specifically bounce all over
the place.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
It was like really weird because he didn't know how
to answer it.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
He goes, l A, I guess and Sky goes, okay,
fan of the word home, all right, and she like
say that I'll never forget it.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
It was like an outer body experience. I saw everybody
in the room and Sky and Eddie and him were
standing over there and me and Emily were walking around
towards it, and I see Sky and she goes.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Okay, I'm a fan of the word home.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
And for the photo that isn't gonna happen for like
another seconds.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
And then he looked at you like.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
The travel a lot, and I think I got a
dinner party where he's hanging out with spreads and he'll
bring up this story sometime.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
He's like on this radio show, was this crazy haired bitch.
I wasn't a fan of the word.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Because at this moment I didn't have a specific set
and it got awkward to and then Scott kept going base.
Where's home base? He hasn't been back since now, you know.
It was crazy. And then we had this.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
We had the San Diego Zoo in the station. They
were at the station and we were supposed to go
take a picture down the hall with like a backdrop
and these other crops and stuff that they had, and
so we had a commercial break to go do take
the picture and then come back. And so of course
the San Diego Zoo people are here with a couple
of people from the radio station here, so people that
(03:53):
Sky isn't comfortable with them, and so when Sky's got
comfortable with you, then it's going to get awkward.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
It's a combination of and the people from the radio station,
one of our bosses, which make.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Sure even more yes over the top.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
So it's like it was like a trifecta.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It really was. So we start to leave the studio walk.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Okay, and I and I yell at Sky, Sky, you
have a break in five minutes.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
So we started to walk down the hallway and Sky
of course can't have silence, so Sky starts walking. She goes,
this is how I walk when I have five minutes,
striking with their arms like exaggerate and you saw the
zoo people's look what I think. We all went, this
is how I walk. I have five minutes, four minutes,
(04:41):
different different different walk six minutes. You can take your time,
different person run.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I'd say about.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
If I said six minutes, you would have started army crawling.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Somersaults. The It.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Was awkward because you know when you walk side by
side with somebody you don't really know.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
It's fine, you just walk, just walk the day.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
And then I got and then I realized what I
want at the zoo, what I was doing with my arms.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
And then but the ultimate, the greatest moment of all
time of the sky awkward talk. I'll never forget it
is what is known and will always be known as
binder What is binder Day? For those of you who
did not hear the explanation of this before Binder Day
is what happens usually a day or two before the
(05:40):
Rady Children's give on every year. We do it every year.
And so they put together this binder with all kinds
of stuff, our schedule, uh, some patience bios they have,
like the numbers and things like that hospital, all kinds
of stuff, and they put it all on this giant binder. Well,
the first year they dropped off the binders, no big ill. Well,
(06:00):
the second year they came in to drop off these
binders for some I'll never forget fucking reason. I never forget.
Sky turns around and the lady brings in the binders.
Sky turns around weirdly, gets so excited, starts clapping weirdly
and yells out, yay Binder Day.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
And we all just went what she was clapping like
Nicole Kidman the binder Day, And she like made her
chair higher for some reason.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
And let it be known, Let it be known before that,
This wasn't known as Binder Day. There was no name
for you guys, and there was no like enthusiasm on
their part. But for some reason, Sky got very excited
(06:54):
for the drop off of the binders now known as
binder Dad giddy.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
And then the person that's that was standing across the
room with the binders didn't know how to react. Who
would and Sky Sky like, she went with the bit
binder Day.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
This is the person went. She struck her sholders and went, yeah,
these are children's bios. I don't know why we're excited
about this.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Kid legs yeah, okay, yeah, and the three of us
kind of sat there.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
My jaw dropping horror, My jaw dropped horror. Yay binder Day. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Well, from my perspective where I sit in the studio,
my back is to the door, and I knew someone
had entered the room because I see all of your
faces react and you're all like smiling like this is
something good, this is something nice, and so I'm just.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Saying hello, right and walk in. You're not gonna be rude, right.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
So I'm thinking something good is going on. Sometimes we'll
get like the surprise little food drops or feet freebies,
and so in my head for summary, and that's what
I think is happening. But because I'm me and I'm awkward,
I've already started clapping as I'm realizing what she has.
But I'm committed.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
So you started clapping before you even knew what it
was because.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I'm like, something is exciting as going on behind me.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
And so you start clapping? Are you psychotic? Why it is?
Speaker 3 (08:23):
You guys know I do this sometimes. I like to
support people in meetings.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Or the comedians that are but you see it first normally.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
But I completely just went off your guys faces of
just welcoming someone to the room. And I turn around
and that's when I see she has binders. But I'm
already committed to the joy and the clap, so it
just comes out binder Day. And I figured, oh, silly
winder Day, silly sky holiday, silly sky, faux pas. I
(08:57):
did not realize that you guys would love this moments.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
One of the more insane things.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Well, you guys bring this up all year long, like
blinder Day. Oh, I can't wait till it's binder Day,
and especially as it starts nearing this time, it's like
something I.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Look forward to every holiday season.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Once the summer first hits, it's the only thing I
think of it.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
It's binder season season.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Start putting up binders as Christmas Christmas.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
They're not, they're not.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
A Binder Days is magic. It's magic. We look forward
to it every year, and every year when they do
do the binder drop off, it is it is like
a party in here. We get so excited and it's
it's just pure joy and excitement and binder Day is
the best.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Well now, normally it's like a hot tease and they're
not intending it to be a tease, but they'll send
out an email being like Rady Children's coming up.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I never I never heart emails, but I heart the
binder Day email.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
And then in the eight paragraph email they'll say, and
soon we'll drop off the binders. And that's the only
thing these guys see out of that entire email. And
then they start speculating what day is it gonna be?
Oh my god, like it's so ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Yeah, So we've been looking forward to binder Day. We
knew it. I mean the given starts tomorrow, so we
haven't seen the binders yet. Were like, when is it
gonna be. When is it gonna be? Like, I can't wait. Well,
we were kind of devastated, to be honest with you,
as we walked into the studio this morning and the
binders were already dropped off and they were sitting in
(10:31):
here on chairs. Yeah, and I'm like, we didn't get
binded day. What it's like Christmas getting canceled?
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I walked in this morning, I saw two binders sitting there,
and I just kind of fell to my knees. I
watched it happen, hands in my face, and then I
picked up one of the binders and I just threw it.
And then I kind of just sat here in the
silence for a sold ten minutes.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Why did you do that? Anyway? In one dropped out.
I walked in and I saw the binders and I went, no, no,
binder Day. The year is ruined.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
I said to Eddie, fucking sucks. And I do it
exactly this basement, and I just said, fucking sucks.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yeah, we're going to move past binder Day.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Crazy, We're going to move past Christmas.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Okay, I don't think we can come there?
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Is it magically a cure for all sickness in the world.
Sky every year, then there's always going to be Binder day.
But if we didn't get it, what do we do?
I don't know. Can we Can we throw them out
of the studio and then have somebody bring them back
in or will that not have the same magic.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
I wish we could neuralize the three of us to
just have Sky do it one more time.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
That's the first time ever. That would be great.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
It's like they always say, your first hit a crack
