Speaker 1 (00:00):
So let me get this straight. What we got an
invite to Sky's house in Oregon before we've gotten an
invite to our house in La Joya. That's a fucking fact.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I can't I didn't even put too into That's a
fucking fact. I didn't even put two together.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Literally, we all just got an email Jamie included wild
that we're all invited to go spend time in Oregon.
We ain't done yet.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It's time for the podcast yet, completely uncensored and unfiltered
except for that part the show's after show starts now.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I don't know what's going.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
On, what's writing everything? What is this regretting everything?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
We're all headed to Oregon together? Organ trial. I don't
understand what a doing here? What is this? Okay, you
just got an email from Sky? Yes, I mean you
could have just said.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
It okay, Well I did, but then Emily was in
now the room and Thor was trying to announce it
to the world, and I said, you know, the world
aka the room.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I'm like, that is Sky's world outside of us and
her husband and daughter, maybe two friends.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Susan Susan oh, I thought you meant nugget an.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
La the dogs So that's it. I mean, this is
the world is so fun.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Fact, if you didn't know, Fact sold the rental house
we had here in San Diego and we swapped it
for a house up in Oregon.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
Call it like a like a couple swap, okay.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
If you want to. Yeah, according to the I R
S it's a couple swap. Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
So we're just swapping the two houses out and we
are soon at the end of the month, will be
the proud owners of a home in Oregon. Coastal organ
thank you for ask Coastal and uh. The answer to
your question, why Eddie is I no you said it
out loud, is because my husband has been dreaming of

(02:10):
retiring to No, we're not retiring any.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
You make all decisions.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
I know, I know, but convince you. He breaks me
down over time.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Okay, And this was definitely one of those things where
I'm like, what are you talking about.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
We've never even been there.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Dream is not to move to Oregon back back then.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Oh yeah, my dream was to retire coastal.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
But in my mind I was more in the Hawaii
vibe would make sense, Yeah, but in his mind he
was more like redwood trees, like a big yard, some privacy,
some quiet.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Yeah, so that's kind of his dream.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
If you're and he gets to pick, he gets to say,
it's been working this whole time, and he gets to
pick where's.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
For twenty five years?

Speaker 6 (03:01):
He decided when was the last year he worked?

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Two thousand and four.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So I was still in high school. That was the
last time. I was a junior in high school. No, now,
wait a second twentyear reunions. He lived here in two
thousand and four. He had a job before we moved here.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Yeah, he quit his job to move here. Okay, yeah,
that's why.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
So that's what it's been so long. I honestly don't remember.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Yeah, he was an electricians apprentice and.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
He quit like a wizard's apprentice.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
So he was going to be he was going to
be electricians.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Yeah, he was electrician. She was in the process of
getting to become an electrician make a lot of money.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
Why did he stop it?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
You could have retired in.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Between that electrician contract, I mean a salary and your stalar.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
You definitely could have.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Retired in so, I guess at least back then, you
have to do it all under the same business. And
since we were moving he basically would have had to
start over. And we were kind of to house flipping
and house remodeling and the real estate mark was crazy,
so he were like, you'll make a lot more money
this flipping then going.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
You guys flipped like twenty thirty houses something like that.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
Okay, yeah, it was it was too.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Wait a minute, too, that's not like HGTV.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
No, No, well you had a baby and that kind
of gets in the way of house flipping.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Yeah, but they're not living. They're not living flippers. That's
the difference.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
They have enough money to buy a house, we would
flip the house, live in gotcha. So anyway, So yeah,
Hobby loves coastal Oregon loves it.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Have you ever been before? No?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
And to your point, Emily, we were exploring my love
of Hawaii. Uh went there because, uh COONa was like
the only area we could actually maybe afford where we
could see the ocean and uh, too hot, you guys,
I realized too hot.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
It was too hot for me when I got therewai hot.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Too hot, You're going to pully go in noble ocean.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Yeah, but when I'm out of it, too hot, too hot?
Realize as as I'm aging, I got some temperature sensitivity.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
But you are always cold, so you think it balance out.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I've never met anyone on Earth complain about the weather
in Hawaii, yeah, or.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
San Diego or San Diego.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
Well, then if it's too hot, then you go in
your house in the air conditioning.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
I don't know, I don't know, Like you're gonna, like.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
You talk about doing an organ where you're gonna have
to go in the house with the heater.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Right, But here's the difference in in Hawaii, idiot, yeah,
fucking crazy.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
In Hawaii, I'm like way back there, away from the
ok In Oregon, I'm like right there.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
So I'm well, like where you're sitting in your living
room and you don't have toss to see the view,
you know what I mean. So my husband talked me
into Oregon.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
We visited twice and then we pulled the trigger and
decided we are going to buy a house which we
will rent for whoever knows, whenever retirement comes.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
We will it out until then.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
You hope, yeah, we hope.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
You know, it should rent, according to the people I've
talked to, because you know, it's hard to get a
long term rental in that area.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Lots of hard to find long term renters in that area.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Well, lots of vacation rentals in the area that would
make sense long term rentals.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
I guess there's not much industry going on.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
Well, yeah, that would make sense. I'm going there. I'm
going for a vacation. I wouldn't be crazy enough to
live in the area. I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Oh yeah, their top industries are you work for the city,
you're a fisherman, or you work for the hospital, and
anything other than that, you're like minimum wage working at
the candy shop.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
So we rent won't be too high, well we know
she hate.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Yeah, no, it's going to be no.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
So the plan is rent this house. Great, Well, we're
going to visit a couple of times, get it all set.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Up before we rent.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
But I can't stay there for like months, right, So
there's going to be some downtime where the house is
empty for probably a good like two and a half
months before it starts to rent. So I was talking
to my front thor here. I know his wife has
family that lives in Oregon.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
Yeah, and so no Portland. Well yeah, he.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Lives, you know in a city.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Yeah, we don't need to do this.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
He actually works for the Portland Trailblazers. Yeah, it does
really well, maybe I'll go to a game.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I will and so.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
Okay, I figured.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
So I was talking to Thor about the house of like, oh,
you know, it's going to be empty, and I was
talking about setting up internet and then I was like, oh, well,
if you guys want to stay before we rent it out,
that's fine, and he kind of perked up, like, oh
well how much would you How much are you charging us?

Speaker 5 (07:49):
And I said, well, no, the house can be vacant.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
You guys, can you know, just cover your air fare
or drive and you can stay there free.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
So he was all about it coming and want of details.
Immedia lee.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
So that's when I did something I now regret because
I reached out to all of my friends here in
the room and sent them an email with a link
to the home and I let them know these are
the dates that'll be available. If you'd like to stay,
please let me know and I'll block off some time.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
For I really got to see the house that much
and didn't see the area, and now that I'm looking
at it, I'm stunned.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Well a few reasons weeah, Eddie, I mean right off,
the bath. There's one big reason.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Huh two bedroom yeah, two bedroom, Yeah, I mean we're
going to only.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
One and a half bath. What if I need what
if people need to take a shower?

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Not happening?

Speaker 6 (08:41):
And how small half bedroom?

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I mean, okay, it's it's a it's a small it's
a small little beach.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Remember when I joked, Remember when I joked, you're gonna
rent it under a thout you may have to, Yeah,
we don't have to.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
And then you know, I have the aerial view. I'm
looking at you, and I don't know. I mean the
houses next to it are amazed. Yea, those ones I
want to stay at.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
You always want to buy in a nice neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Well, yeah, those houses. But then I got this shanty
right here, and I'm like, I don't want to stay there.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
It's like a it's like a double.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
It's like a two cars, like a double. It's like
a double.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Wise, I mean, it's like eleven hundred square feet.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
You know, I'm looking at them all. There's like four
houses in the picture. This one looks like the ady U.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
Okay, I mean, I'm not kidding.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I'm not kidding.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
I haven't seen the link that she didn't send to you.
She says, she only want me and Eddie.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Well we know, we know what'll happened with them, they'll
tear it up. You don't want to Oh yeah, And
then you said this thing was like right on the beach.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
That's what I thought I heard from sky. One of
the most pretentious things I've ever heard.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
What was that when she says I need to walk
on the beach from my house, I need to say
it and I need to walk around the beach.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
Can you walk on the right to the beach.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Unfortunately you can't.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
You can't.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
It's miles of You can't. What it's on a cliff.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Because again all your bullshit about tsunamies.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Yeah, it's not.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
It's on a giant you I wanted to get washed
away in five years.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
I would like to ship. I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
It's on a beautiful cliff, perched directly over a beautiful beach,
staring out at the ocean.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Is the walk to the beach houses where you see
the water? Yes, I could take maybe like a little
blighter down or something like.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
That in the front door, and it's it's beautiful. What
do you I like this way?

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Here's the other thing. I don't really understand. I got
so many questions about this. You wanted to be out
in the middle of nowhere, the boo wanted nobody around, Davis.
These houses are right on top of each other.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
We well, it's a the lot is a third of
an ache, so it's not the way.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Really, it's all driveway. That's your acre, Okay, if a third, If.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
By a third of an acre you mean not a
third of an acre, then yes, because this thing is tiny.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Okay, I mean you can see. I mean, honestly, you're
gonna be able to see into their house.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
You can.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
You can see this dead grass too.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
It's Oregon in the winter.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
You fuck, how is the grass?

Speaker 5 (11:23):
Okay? Really? Really really? And you are right in the vision.
In the vision, we.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Are on we are on ten acres, all by ourselves,
facing the ocean.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
But it turns out we cannot afford that.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
And it turns out even though in your mind nobody
lives on the Oregon coast basically where the ocean is, its.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
House, house, house, house house.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
That was the dream.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
And these are the most spread out of the houses.

Speaker 6 (11:48):
I have a quick question about this fence.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
You're not even listening to everything. Russ, Oh everything.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I don't like that.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Walk down six houses out, it's going to take you
about thirty seconds, and then you'll walk down a tiny path.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
And you'll be right there and you'll be right there path.
So I'm really regretting pool or jacuzzi.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
No, you live for the spot. You going to the
spot every day. The ocean because freezing.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
No, I'm not going in the ocean.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
And the plan is because again we're not going to
live there for at least a decade. Before we move in,
we will spend a year making it a little bigger,
putting on a sun room with a spot in the sunroom.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
This picture right here, sky, This isn't your backyard.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
No, I thought that was I thought that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Yeah, okay, So I really am regretting inviting all of you.
