Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, I got in a little bit of trouble yesterday.
You guys, I got a little talking to.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
You guys know that when I play video games that
I get very invested in it and I'm locked in
and then it sort of takes over my life.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
You abandon your family.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I don't know that I abandoned. I want to, but
I don't. I'd love to abandon them, but well, I
like to finish the game. So yeah, I I really
temper myself playing video game.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
No different than Sky going with the SPA by herself.

Speaker 5 (00:30):
I mean that's like for an hour.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
She gets massages every day, Emily going grocery.

Speaker 6 (00:44):
We all have our things. We all have our things,
no different.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Thor is defending me right now because he's now into
video games. Yeah that's good. Yeah, so I get locked in. Well,
I apparently I'm not allowed to get emotional with video
games anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
We ain't done yet. It's time for the podcast a
year completely uncensored and unacting filtered except for that part the.

Speaker 6 (01:21):
Shows after show starts. Now, Yeah, listen.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
At least I'm aware of Like, if I play a
video game, I'm aware that it affects me, and I'm
aware that, like, I get weirdly obsessed that I got
to finish it. And so that's why I play so much,
is that I want to finish it.

Speaker 6 (01:41):
Why. I don't know. I'm enjoying it, but I have
to like get to the end. Oh, you're like that
with a lot of different things.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
But like with TV shows or something, if you start something,
you can't true finish it, even if we're not that.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Into it, we'd quirking about my personality, I take things
to the finish line. I don't know, but it is
a thing where I'm mean, I'm locked in when I'm
playing a video game, and so it just sort of depends. Now,
if it's a sports game, that's a little different because
there really isn't a finish line per se if you
play an entire season. Yeah, that's why I don't play

(02:14):
the show very much anymore because I played the whole season,
and I literally will play a full game every day
because I want to stay with the season.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah, you could do that now where you're you're like
the Padres and you play every day who they're playing. Yeah,
so like you click on them playing the diamonbacks and
tomorrow and so on and.

Speaker 6 (02:30):
So forth, how long do you games? Like, I have
no clue. Like on the show Baseball, it's an hour.
Oh really, games you do?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
I did five minute quarters. You don't really want to
do more than five minutes because then it could be
a while. Maybe seven is the most. But yeah, but.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
Facebook, you could change the the you can make.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
It seven six innings.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
And if you're you know, psycho like me, I'm playing
all nine and I'm like locked in and it's you know,
and it is what it is. So the show, which
I love, I only play one every like three years
and when it comes out, you know, because then I
get crazy about it. And so I'm real careful about
my view. I play a video game once maybe twice
a year because I get too nuts about it.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Your favorite kinds like like Marvel games. No games like
you're killing people zombies and yeah, what are we doing?

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Yeah, a little bit of like shooter games or like
a campaign. Isn't that a thing? Yes, that's a thing. Yes, okay,
big time.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Okay, So like an Assassin's Creed series I really love,
you know, like when the Last of Us was out,
that's my favorite video game of all time. So yeah,
killing zombies is where I live. Okay, Yeah, that's my
kind of favorite. And so that's the game I'm playing
right now. I'm playing the World war Z video game.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I mean it's been out for a really long time.
Obviously the movie has been out for a really long time.
But I've had it for so long that I'm now
finally getting to play it, you know. And so it's
a short game. But then there was an add on
that actually Deborah, my wife, got me for was it
Father's Day? I think it was Father's Day because I'd
finished it and I was done, and then she got

(04:08):
me the ad on, and I'm like, you knew you
realize what you're doing.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
You're feeding the addiction. Yeah, I was kind of done.
I crack for a junkie. She was to get her
husband back.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
She didn't want to. She didn't want because she she thought, oh,
you were playing the video game. You want the add on.
I'm like, fuck, yeah, I do, let's go. And so
now I've been playing the add on.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
That must be a double edged sword for her because
she knows it's a slam dunk gift that you're gonna love.
But then at the same probably knows like, oh crap,
I'm never going to see this man again for like
at least the next week or so.

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Yeah, that's the way it goes. That's so yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
So so she got me the add on and then
we went on vacation, which sucked, you know, because did
you miss it? Yes, I went through withdrawals really and
then as soon as I'm back, I'm locked in and
in I'm locked in again. And so I'm right at
the end where I'm on the last campaign.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
If you will, can you play us, Brad Pitt? No,
You're You're a whole different crew. You're a whole different crew.
That's so fun.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Sorry, I got really excited.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
I thought make out with the game. Yeah, yes, I
would make him take his clothes off.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
I don't think that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
No, No, So I'm just killing zombies left and right.
That's all I'm doing. And so you are different. You
go to like different parts of the world and you know,
kill zombies basically, and your different people in the games.
And so I'm on the last one, the last campaign,
and I'm gotten to the point of where I cannot

(05:33):
get past this one level. And it does It's not
like I can't figure something out. I just can't pass it.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
It's just too hard. And I'm pretty good at video.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Games, Like I've been playing video games my whole life,
and you know, I'm a bit of a gamer, and
so it's not like I have a hard time playing
video games ever. But for some reason, this one level
is next to impossible to finish where you get to
the The thing that's really frustrating about this particular.

Speaker 6 (05:59):
Video game, in all video games that.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I've ever played before, if you die, you pick up
right where you left off, you know, So you die
and then you re respawnd right in that same spot,
and then you continue on to the game. This game,
you die, that's it. You got to start from the beginning.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Oh no.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
And so in other levels it's not that bad. It
is what it is, you know, like, okay, I got
to redo this whole thing.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
It's annoying.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
But you're like, all right, this level from start to
where I get to finish, h is about twenty minutes.

Speaker 7 (06:33):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
And so imagine getting twenty minutes in and then have
to start from the beginning.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
I don't know why they do that.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
You respond, horrible, Yeah, it's then you do.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
It again and then then back again, back again.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
How many times?

Speaker 1 (06:45):
So there are a few different spots that are very difficult.
I've finally gotten past the middle part, which was really
hard for me to get past. I figured it out
and like, okay, I can get past that part most
of the time. And then you get to the really
the hard part, and I cannot get past that, and so, uh,
it's beyond frustrating to me why I.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
Can't do this? Will you ever google like I have?
There is no tip that you can do.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
So basically, either you were gonna die because you get
overwhelmed by zombies or the people you're trying to protect
die because there's too many zombies. That's that's the whole crust,
you know that sucks. Well, it's not that complicated, yeah,
And it is basically like you just got to keep
killing until you save these people. So there's no tricks
to it. There's no like, oh, I got to figure

(07:36):
out this puzzle. There's nothing like that secret door.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
There's nothing.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
You just got to keep killing and hopefully you kill
enoughrust and so I get twenty minutes in every time
and then they die or I die, and I'm just
like this is crazy. So I shit, you not I
have been doing this one level. I want to say,
for at least seven days now, oh straight every day?

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Oh wow, I think you're saying an hour.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Oh no, no, no, no, I play. I play like two
hours every day. Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
And so I got I'm probably up to at least
twenty five times. I've tried to pass this level at least,
if not more. I don't even know how many times.
But I mean that sucks, and so I and I like.
The frustrating part is I know I'm pretty good at
this game. Why can't I fucking pass this? I don't know.
So now I'm at the point where I'm so frustrated

(08:29):
play and you know, I have to finish it. It
is my mission in life right now to finish this
fucking up.

Speaker 6 (08:34):
Okay, it's all I care about. It's all I care about.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Job right now, I have nothing, I have nothing, and
so it's all I care about right now. I'm about
right now, I want to go home right now and
play because I fucking have to pass this fucking level
off so much so yesterday was the end all be
all I have it in my head. I'm Today's the day,

(08:57):
like I gotta fucking figure this out. I'm going to
pass this level and be done with this fucking game,
to the point of where I'm kind of hating it,
but I got to finish it. So the same thing
happens yesterday. I'm playing, playing, playing, playing, get all the
way to where I think I got this. I got this,
I think I find it.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
They died, the people died. How did they die? I
don't even know how they died. I was killing it.
I got so mad, I screamed out, what the fuck?
Oh that loud fucking a fuck.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
I'm screaming profanity at the top of my lung there.
And I get to the point where I have the
controler in my hand to throw, but I may will
calm myself down.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Are you yeah? I want you? And for some reason, again,
this game takes a long time to load. So once
you once, you lose forever to load, and then you
go through the whole thing, and then you started again,
and it takes forever to load. So it's a whole process,

(10:05):
and I gotta go through the whole fucking thing all
over again.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
So started up again.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Blah blah blah, playing playing, playing killing Zombis Zombie Zombies,
get almost to the end, Die again.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
What the fuck?

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Why?

Speaker 6 (10:21):
This is crazy?

Speaker 7 (10:26):
It's really bad for my mental it's really bad. But
I gotta say, like, we're also going to see these people.
I got to say they're not really I gotta say.
Nobody else is going to say they keep it's fine.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
So this happens yesterday, four times and again twenty minutes each.
I'm right there at the end, die scream out profanities
and I just don't know what the hell. And So
where my game room is. It is directly attached to
the granny flat where Graham Nancy lives. So I see

(11:00):
my wife was out picking up the kids, doing stuff.
She gets home. This is what she does every day.
She'll peek in if she sees I'm playing. She knows,
don't come in. Don't distract me. You cannot distract me.
If you see I'm chilling waiting for the game to load.
Come on in, Come on what you got going on to?

Speaker 6 (11:17):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
So she peeks in and sees I'm playing, and then
she makes bee lying for her mom's you know, to
visit or whatever. So then she she goes over there,
comes back and she sort of pause. Is at because
my game room it's all glass windows, basically the glass
doors last windows of the whole thing. So she stands

(11:39):
right there and is looking at me, and I glance
over and I see she's got like a puzzled look
on her face, and I go, huh. And so I'm
at the point where it's loading, so I tell her
come in. She comes in. She goes, are you okay?
And I go, yeah, why, I'm going to play in
the video yeah, And she goes she goes, oh okay.
She goes, well, my mom just said she's a little concerned,

(12:04):
and I know concerned. She said she's heard a commotion
over here understanding and wants to know, like, is everything okay?
We go on, Eddie, seems like there's something wrong over there.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
He sounds like somebody's dying over there, screaming getting killed.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Well, I said, does Nancy want to come over and
see me get to that point and see how frustrating it?

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Yeah, because then she sounds like Nancy needs a tump TV,
a little ladder and listen to that.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
Turn off those hearing aids.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
Maybe, Edie, I got what do you want me to do?

Speaker 6 (12:39):
I'm pissed
