Speaker 1 (00:00):
And it means he has to turn over the reins
to a couple of folks like me and tomorrow a
guy named Steve Riam's Steve claims to be a sheriff
from a county up north called Weld. I've never googled him.
I'm not sure if that's true. But we're going to
get to the bottom of it tomorrow, as we have
the segment called the Sheriff and the District Attorney for
(00:20):
two hours tomorrow. But that's not where we're starting today.
Of course, Super tramp Rick Davies passed away. I think
yesterday could have been today, eighty one years old. Love
that group. It makes me think about my youth. And
speaking of youth, there's a kid who is at a
Phillies game with his pops. I think it was his
(00:42):
tenth birthday. And there's nothing better than going to baseball
with your kids, or with your dad or your parents,
or whoever it is. That's the baseball fan. It's just
a magical time. What makes it even more magical is
if you're able to catch a fly ball and you
see kids all the time. Mine did it all the time,
brought gloves to the stadium, you know, what I mean,
brought it to Coors Field or wherever we were out
(01:02):
of town, and you just you long for that moment.
And it doesn't happen everybody as much as you think
it happens. It doesn't happen nearly as much as kids
would want it to. But on this particular occasion, if
you haven't followed this, you got to go out there
and google crazy Phillies fan, and there was an incident
that happened. A guy named Bader, pretty popular player there
for the Phil's, jacked a home run and the dad
(01:24):
of the ten year old birthday kid runs over, grabs
this thing, takes it over to his son, and then
some crazy lady and maybe I'm characterizing it too harshly
pulled the pin on her own grenade and went and
blew up all over them and it turned into this
viral media moment. Now, listen, I've heard people talk about it.
(01:44):
I've heard some sports people talk about it. But I
want to get a better perspective on this, and there's
probably nobody better to talk about this topic with than
a local sports superstar in her own right. She has
reported for everything from preps all the way up to
you listen to her on Broncos Sundays. She does it
all local and I love that. It's Susie Ward and
(02:07):
Susie thanks for joining us. Hello, George, I'm good now.
I started up by the way talking to you earlier today.
I'm gonna ask this question. It's not the Phillies question,
it's the CSU question, right, Okay. I have been fortunate
enough to watch a Rams game with you and your husband.
That was fantastic. I'm a double buff, but my son
is a Ram and so I've been sort of pulled
(02:27):
into this Rams fandom.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Please brought you to.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
The bright side a little bit, George, which I know
it's just root against your kids teams, although I'm getting
better at it. But over the weekend, what a heck
of a game as Greeley came to town and there
was a pass. I don't know how many people listening
right now are aware of it, but it was a
pass that probably changed the outcome of the game when
(02:50):
it was called incomplete. What are your thoughts on that past?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Well, originally called a touchdown, that's right, yeah, yeah, and
then they over ruled that calling, which is so rare
because once it's ruled that on the field. You know,
it's one of those things that it's very hard to
overturn something like that. But you know where we are,
We're over on the west side, and as much as
we were looking at and they didn't replay it a
whole lot in the stadium either. But I was like, oh,
(03:17):
I don't know if that was actually a catch, and
I was I was surprised, thankful when they overturned or
overturned it and called it a touchdown. But then the
more I looked at it, I saw a different angle
this morning. I didn't get a chance to dig into
it yesterday because it was kind of a Broncos day,
but looked at a little bit more and it did
look very you know, it hit the ground. He didn't
have control of it the whole time, you know, popped
(03:38):
up with it makes it. You know, those guys are
really good actors. Sometimes they can pop up with it
and make you think that they had control the whole
time in the ground. Wasn't involved, but it was, and
it was the right call. But regardless that, there's no
reason that that game should have been as close as
it was, and we should have had a much bigger
lead supposed to have one on UNC so I think
it raised you know, just that play. It was one
(04:00):
part of it, but it raised a lot of other
questions too. And now we have a bye week this week,
so we don't get to have any kind of game
to get back and check out. But you know, they've
played well against Washington. I went and saw them in
Washington the week before and had a good first half.
So got some things to figure out, just like all
of our football teams have something.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Oh ro George, I got super happy with the Broncos outcome.
Defense looks fantastic and maybe that's overinflated at the beginning
of the season, but that offense. I just kept waiting
for them to click. Even coming out of the second half,
I thought, Okay, this is where they figured it out.
They've gone back and done the x's and o's and stuff.
They just never really caught fire.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, and it was a weird game. I mean, the
offense couldn't get going. They were you know, spirts and
starts and trying to figure out what's going on. Defense
just came out, I mean from the very beginning. Nick Minido,
you know, had that great play on the running back
and the very first play and then they get six sacks,
they get, you know, two turnovers. The offense had the
four turnovers. But then we had that weird thing too
(04:58):
at halftime. We're right at halftime and they say we're
going into a weather delay. So I think everybody was
kind of expecting, all right, we got a little extra time,
and that was my thought too. I was like, Okay,
maybe there'll be a little more time to regroup. And
then as halftime starts ticking away, I go and do
a report kind of like what they did in a
Thursday night football game last week where Melissa Stark was
in the tunnel. I was like, hey, I can go
(05:18):
play Melissa Stark and I could go be in the
tunnel and see what's happening. And then all the guys
are going on the field and I'm like, wait, what
are we in a delay? Isn't it raining? There's lightning?
What's going on? And Sean Payton talked about it afterwards.
He said, you know, we all thought we were going
to have a delay, and the next thing you know,
they're like, nope, weather warning off, get out, And so
they barely even had any time to kind of warm
up and get back into things, and the game just started,
(05:40):
so it was a very weird halftime. And then you're right,
the offense just couldn't quite get it going, couldn't figure out,
okay we passing, are we running? Can we do a combo?
And then there was the fourth and eight at the
end and Will lots of standing out in the middle
of the field with his hands on his hips, going
why am I.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Not kicking a field goal?
Speaker 2 (05:56):
So it was a little weird, but a win is
a win, and you got to take those and win
those from them and move on. But that defense, man,
I can't wait to see this.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
The last time a Bronco's defense crushed a guy named
Cam behind center that hard. His career never recovered. He
never got past that Super Bowl fifty the same, Yeah,
he was, Tony. I want to have you on though,
because I wanted to get your perspective, because you are
all things, all sports here in Colorado. You saw that
(06:27):
clip that that's gone super viral. I don't know what's
bigger than super viral. Where the ten year old and
the ball and then this woman runs over from her
vantage point from her seat and confronts the dad. The
dad ends up taking the ball from his kid giving
it to her kind of like enough enough, you know
(06:47):
what I mean, Like you get my face, just get
out of my face. When you watched that, what were
your takeaways from that?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Well, it's very interesting. And you know you said to
search a crazy Philly fan. If you just type in
so least, the first thing that comes up on Google
is Philly's Karen.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
So that's why.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
It is.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
It comes up immediately, so you can click on that
and see all the video and all of the articles
on it.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
You know, it's it's too bad.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
And you see things like that happen, and it's like
you said, George, you take your kid to the game.
We used to do that with our kids. You know,
everybody's bringing a glove, and we used to. We were
very fortunate and that Kawa used to have these phenomenal
seats right behind the Rockies dugout, and in those seats,
like it's imperative you are always paying attention and you
have a glove because of a foul ball comes around,
(07:34):
you know, you've got to be watching out for things
like that. So that was one of our things. And
then we'd sit up in the upper level too and
and hope that we'd get a fly ball or something,
and we had a couple come our way, but never
got one. I got one in spring training one time
my husband took our daughter out to like she wanted
to go sit out in the sun, out in the
berm at talking Stick or yeah whatever, at Salt River
(07:55):
and and a foul ball came and we caught it,
and my husband was just beside himself. He got one
and he wasn't there to get it for his son.
But that's a different story. But with this one, Oh
go ahead.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
I was going to say, do you want to share
the story that you shared earlier? Yeah, yeah, that's a
good one.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
So it's interesting because, like I said, we used to
have those seats that we'd get every once in a
while when Kaoa had the seats behind the dugout. And
one time we're in those seats, and you know, I
used to cover the team on a regular basis, and
so I knew all the guys and it was very
typical for Todd Helton when they would come off the field.
You know, he comes right from first base. A lot
of times he'd have the ball because he was the
third out and so he'll you know, push it across
(08:33):
the dugout, and whoever's there happens to get it, so
fans will go down and sit there. And he and
I made eye contact. He looked at me, gave me
a smile, and he rolled it my way. I mean,
I had the kids with me, and so I gave
it to the kids. And there was another goal with
her kids sitting there, and they they're bummed that they
didn't get it, you know, which I get that, But
(08:54):
the thing she says to her daughter is, well, honey,
maybe if your mommy was pretty or she would get
a ball too. And I like looking at her, like,
oh my god, did you just say that to your kid?
And I wanted to say, you know, And then at
that point I'm like, but like I cover him and
I work he knows me. But I was like, I'm
not even gonna go there and do that. But I
just thought, you know, what a thing to say to
(09:14):
your kid.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, set up.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
This, you know, well, if your mommy was prettier, then
maybe she would.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Have got the ball.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
I mean I guess that that was a really backhanded Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
It's kind of a compliment complement to me in a way. Yeah,
did you say thank you or just kind of you know.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
I didn't even know what to say.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I mean, this is shoot, fifteen seventeen years ago, this
was you know, early two thousands, and I'm just but
it's so stunned me that. I mean, they don't have
balls for everybody. So if you get it, and in
that one in the Phillies case, I mean, it didn't
go to a person the way it looks like. It
went into the row in front of that gal where
she was right and the guy walks over, he gets it.
She was reaching over to get it, and I mean,
(09:54):
it's it's anybody's.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I want to ask you, And I know you've done
all your duty for the day, so I don't want
to keep you for but I do want to ask
you this, what is that unwritten rule when there's a
foul ball or a home run hit into the stands,
about who does it belong to?
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Well, if it goes to you and it's there, you know,
great Mike did have one bounce out of his glove
one time, so he had one come straight to him
as one of his biggest fears now is that you know,
one comes to him and he didn't catch it. It
bounced out, went down into the lower We were on
the second level and it went down into the first level.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
I mean, that's not his ball.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
He didn't catch it.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
You know.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
It's one of those things in that case where there's
nobody sitting right there. I mean, it's a free for all.
It doesn't mean it belongs to the person behind you.
It's kind of whoever gets there first. And if that
guy got there and he gives it to his kid,
come on, Yes, the kids are what it's all about.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
I think that's got to be Rule number one is
you never take a ball from a kid. My son
and I were at Yankee Stadium and there was an
Aaron Judge home run nearby where we were, and a
kid caught the ball. He got the ball super excited,
bobbled it, dropped it. It rolled down by my son
Graham's feet, and Graham picked it up and looked at
(11:06):
me and I just said, son, you know what to do,
And he just walked over and handed it to the kid.
And he did ask me after. He was like, Dad,
was did I go? Yep? That was the right thing
to do, man. And I think to this day he
still thinks maybe I should have kept it. But I
think you know, the lesson there was you just don't
take the ball from the kids like that. You just don't. Right.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Oh, that's so cool that he did that. Yeah, it's
nice when your kids looked to you for that. I
have My daughter asked me last week, so she goes,
what would a good person do? And I'm like, well,
a good person would we wis this? And I thought,
you know, when they can have that type of distinction,
that's cool. You've done your job as a parent.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I just hope, at last, past age fifteen, we'll see
you at some point. I'm sure. I just don't know.
Susie Wargren, thank you so much for making time out
of your post work day to get on the phone
with us.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Absolutely, yes, thank you for having me.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
I appreciate it. I'll be listening to you on Sundays
for sure. Gotcha.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
All right, we'll be an Indy see okay, see George, byebyeantastic.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
I mean she's been done for a while now after
the Broncos stuff, and she's like, Nope, I'm happy to
call in and talk about this, but now I want
to talk to you about this. At three o three
seven and three eighty two fifty five. If you saw
that video, what were your takeaways? I have a strong
reaction to a couple things, and then some things I've
seen on social media where people are going after the dad.
Do you agree with that? Let's talk about that when
(12:25):
we come back. Hit us up on the text five
seven seven three nine. You got to put Dan in
the first part, George is better than Steve in the
second part, and then I'll read the text and if
they're worth reading on airon frankly, about ninety nine percent
of them are, I'll do that. Otherwise when we come back,
it'll be you and me at three o three seven
one three eighty two fifty five, right here on the
Dan Kapla show, all sports everywhere, it seems like it
(12:58):
all the times, getting us at longlaunched on this topic
that I'd love to hear from you on at three
h three seven three eighty two fifty five. What are
your takeaways from this crazy Phillies She's called the Phillies
Karen fan for running over and accosting this dad. There's
a lot of things out there on the social media
about this one. I haven't seen her identified yet, and
(13:19):
I'm not sure how I feel about that, Like, part
of me is like, yes, And I've seen people say this,
you have everything coming to you, right, You've earned every
bit of social media horror that's out there. That's tough
because part of me agrees, and I'm like, yeah, go
get her. She seemed like such a mean, vicious person.
(13:43):
Uh when the dad went over and picked up the ball.
I mean the unwritten rule, but it's one that everybody
adheres to except for Karen, is that until that ball
is in your possession, it doesn't belong to anybody. The
second rule, and sometimes that Trump's the first one, is
he just don't take the balls away from the kids.
The other thing you can find on social media everywhere
(14:04):
are these great acts and you see them in the
stands too, where someone will catch a ball and the
kid didn't get it, and they'll turn around and give
it to the kid. And I like those, I mean
like I physically like them on Twitter or whatever, because
I want to encourage that. I just think that's the
right answer, right. But this woman gotta be in her
(14:25):
mid to late fifties. I'm guessing, I don't know, maybe
she's sixties or something. Kind of an interesting kind of
like bichrome colored hair thing. She walks over to where
this dad is. He's so excited to give the ball
to his kid, his kids so excited to put it
in his glove. He kind of hugs him, does that
kind of dad behind his back, kind of throws his
arm around his neck. And it's just a great day, right,
(14:47):
it says he's turning ten. They're at the Phillies game.
They're all wearing Phillies gear. Just got a baitter home
run ball, I mean, what could be better? And then
along comes the wicked Witch of the West over here
in march over. And this is what I was struck by,
and that is she isn't just talking to him like
(15:07):
in a normal distance. She has very little regard for
personal space, and she is very confident about getting in
your face. So she leans into his face as she's
screaming at him. And no, I don't believe it's because, man,
it's just so loud there it's hard to hear. I
don't believe that at all. I've yelled at people across
(15:28):
many many rows at Broncos games. No matter how loud
it gets, you don't need to do that. And here's
why I also believe this is part of her character
as well. After she gets the ball and we'll talk
about what the dad's decision was there. After she gets
the ball, she then walks back down to her seat
and gets into it with some other dude who says something,
and she walks over and bends over at the waist
(15:50):
and sticks her beak right in his face and talks
to me. You can see the guy even leans back
a little bit, like what the what man? And she's
in his face. And I'm trying to figure out what
this woman's occupation, because you know, this isn't reserved for ballgames.
This is reserved for total strangers, loved ones, coworkers. I mean,
(16:13):
she will just show up and when she is upset
and wants to make her appoint man, she tries to
intimidate with her face and her voice and get in there.
And so I see her lean over to this guy
and says something, and then she flips off the crowd
who's booing her because of course she is the dark
cloud over Philly Stadium at the time. So I don't
(16:33):
really have any sympathy for her or for what comes right.
I know she should never suffer any threats or or
anything like that. No harm in that way. But if
she's blown up on social media and the people in
her life right now are probably and they probably have
been reaching out to her like, OMG, you're you're everywhere.
(16:58):
Oh forgive me here, I'm about to sneeze one second.
That was I swear to you. Four violent sneezes. Uh.
Let me try to figure out what's going off off
top with my beak. But I want to get to
(17:19):
your calls three all three seven one three eighty two
fifty five real three seOne three eighty two fifty five
Texas to five seven seven three and some good text
coming in. What would you have done if this woman
had approached you and you had been the dad George
Brocler right here on the Dankapler Show, George Brockler filling
(17:48):
in for Dan kaplis our text line five seven seven
three nine. That's filling up with some stuff I'd love
to hear from you live. Uh, if you've got the
guts to do it at three O three seven one
three eighty two fifty five. Really, what I want to
know at this point on the Crazy Karen Mom is,
what would you have done in this particular case. You
see this mom, this mom, this woman, this Karen, very
(18:08):
confrontational approach, this dad who had given this ball to
his son, and she's like, I don't know if she
bullies him, that's how it's reported on some websites and
social media. And he just takes the ball out of
his kid's glove and gives it to her. I don't know.
I don't know what I would have done there. If
it had been a littler kid than my kid, that
(18:29):
had felt like maybe, But that's not who this person was, man.
She just she was nuts.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
So, George, I do have a question for you.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Yeah, is it math?
Speaker 4 (18:39):
No?
Speaker 5 (18:39):
Okay, thank god you are you? You're probably not a
tennis fan.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Well, I was a tennis fan. In fact, I was
at the US Open last you for the women's quarter
in semi finals, which were awesome.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
So did you see about the guy who's Nate the hat?
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I did? I did from CEO of that Polish company
or whatever it was. I saw that yet Well no.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
So Camille Mrjosik was the player and he signed the
hat and handed it to the kid, and the guy
basically stole it. Yeah, stole it straight up. But this
kid was definitely taken care of after the fact, so
I'm hoping that maybe the Phillies will do the same.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Point well they did.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
I think he got it. I think he got like
a sign BA or something.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
There was there's so many clips like they walked over
the Marlins people walked over and gave him like a
bag full of bling. He later on gets a sign
bat I think from Bader And I mean, they really
styled this kid at the end of this. What does
he remember about this? Does he remember like, oh, they
treated me this way because I was a victim of something,
(19:54):
or did they treat me? Does he think about what
his dad did? Does he think his dad was right
because he got showered with the those things. I'm glad
the kid got taken care of her, Yeah, definitely, But
I do wonder like, if it's me, do I take
the ball out of my kid's glove and give it
to her? And I'll be honest with you, I know me,
I don't think so. I think what happens is there's
a verbal exchange that ends up in a career ending
(20:17):
decision by me because this woman is so aggressive in
your face and the I don't know what else she's saying,
I'm pretty sure it becomes kinetic, especially if I'm the
guy at the other end of the stands where she
goes and walks down that row and she bends over
in his face and you can tell he's like, he
leans back, He's like, what the what. I'm pretty sure
(20:37):
hands come out of pockets and they get put on
her to give her a little bit of distance between
me and her. I don't know, I don't know what
that results in, But am I wrong? I mean, I was.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Just totally shocked at how close she was.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
It was close. But Kelly, would you have expected or
respected you're husband for doing that or would you have
done that taken that because it felt like the dad
was like, okay, okay, just go away. And he gave
the ball over and there are people beating this dad up, saying, man,
you're just not man enough and you're not And I
(21:12):
don't know if it's that or not, but I can
see him also saying, look, it's my ten year old kids.
I don't want the game overshadowed with this nonsense. Just
get away from me. I can see that.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
Too, But you got to understand, you know, a personality
like mine I would have taken my husband's beer and
threw it in her face.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
See there's that too, But again that is an escalation, which,
by the way, I would have been happy to have.
But I did. I don't know. Did the dad not
fight hard enough? I don't think there's I did see
one person on this text. Let me say this. It
says I watched the video closely of the Karen and
it almost appears like he does take it from her hand.
(21:53):
I'm not sticking up for what she did, but it
does look like he takes it for her. Now, I
haven't seen that. Everything I've seen looks like she's going
for the ball. He's going for the ball. He grabs it.
And that's how it works, man. You just't until you
have control of the ball. There's nothing. If he walked
over and ripped it out of her hand, I'd say
the dude's a total dork and he's wrong. But it
didn't look that way to me. It looked like he
(22:14):
just had a better vantage point to go get it
before she was able to get it, and she just
got upset.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
She did, and I didn't like the whole that he
acquiesced to her. So her behavior so what did you So,
what do you think I mean, I would have escalated it.
I literally just told you I would have thrown my
husband's beer in her face. Everybody else around me would
(22:43):
have been cheering.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
And that's true, and that would have.
Speaker 5 (22:47):
Been like kind of a coalescing situation where everybody would
have been Kelly.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
You'd have made ESPN top ten for that night. For
that move. There would have been catches and hits and
then Kelly throwing her beer in this woman's face. That
it's true that would have happened. But then, of course
you lose the ability to claim absolute and total innocence,
which is what this kid in this family had. And
maybe they don't shower you with the gifts. I don't know.
I just I know me. I would not have done that.
(23:13):
I have reacted differently under far less favorable situations, you
know what I mean? Like, I know me, and I
would be so protective of my kid and that moment
it would not have gone well. So I asked the question,
what occupation do you think that this woman has? Like,
who else in your life does that? Couple? Texts here
(23:35):
at five seven seven three nine. By the way, someone's
texting and saying, Hey, there's a squeak there when I
talk on the phone. I don't know if it's my
Dave Letterman like space between my teeth, which I don't have.
It says love you, but please don't sing. I get it, Dia,
just there are certain notes I can't hit, it, says
George the baseball Karen, you can bet your bottom dollar
(23:55):
that she's in education. But what a B word, you know,
the spelling of the rest. I'm glad this is all
over the news. Women like her are nothing but bullies.
It's time to feel some of the bullying back. One
thing that I have detected from bullies, the ones I've
prosecuted and the ones I've dealt with in life, is
that very rarely, not one hundred percent of the time,
(24:18):
they simply can't take a blow. And once they take
a blow, man is in an attitude adjustment. And I
don't mean it has to be a physical blow, but
there has to be something that calls them into check.
You don't know them, My guesses don't know her. My
guess is she has a pretty narcissistic streak in her.
I've had some people Kelly suggests that she's in human resources.
(24:41):
That makes some sense to me too. She seems very
officious and very it's my way or the highway. And
there's a lot of good HR people out there, Alexa,
but there are some people that are not that great
at that. Here's another one. When you become a top
Halloween costume and meme, you are likely in the wrong.
(25:03):
I bet the former CEO and head of people from
astronomer AI. That's the Coldplay concert Oopsie, are super glad
Philly Baseball? Karen has taken the spotlight off of them.
That's from our buddy, Alexa. That's a great point, man,
because she has certainly replaced them as the meme and
social media whoopsie of the day. I just what would
(25:24):
you do? Three zero three seven three eight two five
five Texas at five seven seven three nine.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Hold on, we may have some breaking news.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Oh they identify her the black Oh what so?
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Turns out like all the scuttle but on the internet
is that she's a school administrator and has just been fired.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
What where did you read that? Did you get that
off a daily mail? Because it seems like that would
be it breaking news? Was it on daily mail? That's
I'm trying to look that up myself. Where did you
read that? Oh, it's online.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
I told Kelly, this is just what people are saying online.
I'm looking for a harder source right now. Oh, but
that is the current buzz.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Well, the word is the people behind the glass are
looking for a harder source. I'm not sure what all
those words mean, but I imagine it's probably a good
time to take a break and wash up our hands,
and then we're going to get back to your text
at five, seven, seven, three nine and call in. Let's
finish the show with a couple of calls here. What
would you have done if you were dad? Would you
have given the ball back? How far would it have
(26:29):
gone for you? I just know. And by the way,
the fact that she's a school administrator. This person that
texted it and said you got I'll bet my bottom
dollar she's an education brill brilliant. Here's another one from
our text. Your security team could have pummeled her, so
you can be governor. I have no security team. My
security team is my left hand, Jack Johnson, and my
(26:50):
right one. Can't remember what the other name is, Harry
Reasoner or something, right, Yep, it's still there. There's this
great Georgia. That happened in Philadelphia, which had zero legal
system except for when white males do anything that isn't PC.
Had he even pushed her away, he would have been
charged with assault and spent years in jail fighting to
defend himself. He would have lost absolutely everything. But by
the way, that's a brilliant point, because that's Krasner, that's
(27:13):
the da out there. That's Krasner who has turned that
city upside down crime wise by saying we're just not
going to prosecute anything that isn't that isn't a murder
and a murder of a person of color or something
like that. I can't remember the standard. Hey, call's coming
in at three h three seven one, three eight two
five five. Let's step away from a break, George Brockolt
right here on the dan Kapla show, A big one. Here.
(27:46):
Here's one. It did not happen in Philly. It happened
at the Marlins game, which I should have known, because
I knew the Marlins people came up and gave him
a bag full of stuff. That makes me a maroon.
That thank you for checking me on that. Here's another one, George.
You can tell I have no respect for anybody in
education anymore. Most of them have lost their minds. George
told you the bee is in education. Here's another. The
(28:09):
baseball dad was in a no win situation. If he
started yelling back, the internet would be saying he was
bullying a woman. The message the kids should get is
that sometimes you de escalate the situation and you end
up with better rewards. One recent post claimed this is
different she was a school administrator. That would not surprise me.
Here's another. So if the man threw a glass of
(28:30):
beer in her face, then he and his son got
to throw out, they would got thrown out of the game.
Not a great birthday for the kid. These are tough ones.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Man.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Let's go to the fall lines right now. Dennis for Morrison,
You're on the Dan Kaplas Show with George Brockler. Dennis,
what do you think?
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Thanks, thanks for taking my calls. I'm a little conflicted
on choosing sides. And you know, an old story came
to mind, and this was what my father and it
happened sixty sixty five years ago. And my dad was
a dirt farmer out of Texas and he ended up
(29:09):
flying B twenty fours in World War Two, and then
he worked for the District Attorney's office in Los Angeles.
Oh wow, we used to fish the We used to
fish the Huntington Beach Pier a lot so and it
was busy. It was always busy. So my dad's over
in the corner. Me and my brother were on the
end and my brother crossed some guy's line and who
(29:30):
was next to him, and my dad comes walking by.
The guy's yelling at my brother, and my dad comes
walking by to get some fresh bait, and the guy
grabbed my brother, and my dad went over and he
grabbed this guy by the neck and he put him
against the rail and he said, if you touch him again,
he goes, I'll throw you off, throw your ass off
(29:51):
this exl liive pier. The guy packed up and left,
and my brother and myself we still talk about it today.
And if he would have told my brother, Bob, you
got to really watch how you fish, and you can't
do this, and you can't do that, you know, he
put this guy in his place.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
I like this story. I'll tell you, Dennis, though, the
big difference maker is when that dude puts hands on
your brother, hands on your dad's son, I get it.
Then it's Katie bar the door on the response. In
my opinion, I thought your dad was pretty restrained. But
in this case, when this woman doesn't do it, I
presume you've seen this Philly Karen Ladies video when she
does this, if she had reached into the kid's glove,
(30:31):
you're right, it's on it's go time, but she doesn't
like what would what do you think you would have
done in that situation? If you were the dead, I
would have kept the ball. And so she's yelling at you,
screaming at you. Does it ever turn into yelling back,
hands up, hands on anything like that?
Speaker 4 (30:48):
I would waited for some of the attendants to come
and take care of it, and you know, and moved
her out or whatever.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
That's the one. You know what's interesting about that? Like that,
that probably would have worked, but it also would have
probably kept this from becoming a viral moment. In fact,
the dad's decision to give the ball back after that
behavior by her and her walking over and then taking
on the other fans, that's what turned this in.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
And this lady's been on TV saying I think I
need to move out of the country. She did say
that Yeah, she's been on TV. She you know, she
woke up to a mess, real a mess in her life.
I don't know what she does for employment, but there's
some people that would. They would if she worked for IBM,
they would have fired her.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
It sounds like the word we're getting from the smart
folks behind the glass here is that. Oh, we've got it,
We've got an update update.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
Hang on, Dennis, that was a faulty internet rumor.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
I apologize for spreadit not accurate.
Speaker 6 (31:54):
The school district came out and said, we have never
employed this woman.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
We don't know who she is. So everyone's everyone's distancing
themselves from her. Denis, thanks for listening, Thanks for the
phone call. I saw another couple posts that said that
there were two other women who had had to come
out and say, it's not me. It's not me. I
didn't do that. It wasn't I wasn't the one that
did it.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
She's the second one of those two.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Okay, so the second one of those two. She came
out and said something like, man, I wish I was
that thin and that quick moving, but my god, that's
not me. This woman has become toxic online. Yeah, I'm surprised.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
They haven't figured it out yet because so many camera
angles everyone's seemingly looking for. We've had two wrong identities,
but no one's appended down yet.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
And you got to believe with that kind of performance
at a baseball stadium that she's got folks that are
detractors out there, whether it's a coworker, a former victim
of her as a former paramour, or someone hell her
spouse or her loved ones that would want to surreptitiously
notify the media. Oh, I've got who it is.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
Well, in miss day and Age, everybody has a camera
on their phone, so I can't believe we don't have
any We have such.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Clear images of her, like I have thought. Sure people
have been putting them all over the social media trying to,
you know, gronk this thing, but it hasn't worked so far.
We're gonna find out. I don't know. Do you root
for her to lose her job and her life to
be upended? Maybe that's too much, But do I root
for her to have some shame heaped upon her and
have to relook at sort of how she approached his life?
(33:28):
Now that doesn't bother me at all. Hey, listen, this
last text only twenty four hours. Sell an epic show
or a dumpster fire? Will you? That's me and Reems wrestle.
He thinks he would win. It's on Fox News right now,
The Karen Lady. Listen, we'll be back tomorrow. Bring your
own bucket a popcorn. It'll be George Brockler, Steve Reims,
the Sheriff, and the DA right here on The Dan
