Speaker 2 (00:15):
Hello everyone, it's Heidi Ganol filling in for Dan Kaplis.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
This is my final day this week.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
I'm looking forward to covering a lot of interesting topics.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Today.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
We're going to have the Elizabeth School board members David,
Mary and Nicole on at four thirty six to.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Talk about a swastika. They put a swastika.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
On their banners on more than one craziness, and I
don't think that happens from.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Somebody in Elizabeth.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's probably from someone who came outside of Elizabeth. But Ryan,
I have a crazy story around destroying signs and it
involves buddy Kyle Clerk. So when I was running for
regent back in twenty sixteen, I had just sold Camp.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Bawow a couple of years before that.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
So we had these banners that said Lenda Pop vote
for Heidi, and it had me with this little Golden
Retriever puppy on the signs and they were super popular.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Everybody loved them. And this one was right outside a.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Boulder and one night somebody cut the puppy out of
the sign. And this is a big four x eight
plastic sign. They cut the puppy, the picture of the
puppy out.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
The puppy.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I know, I think, I know, but I don't know
if I should say on era I'm but anyway, we
send a note to the local media about what happened.
Kyle Clark picks it up. He does this story and
this is in October before, right before the election, and
it's a it's a gut fight, like with Alice Madden,
one of the crafters of the Blueprint, by the way,
(01:40):
and we're going back and forth. It's a two super
tight race. He does this expose on somebody cutting the
puppy out of the sign. He says, this is horrible.
This is what politics has gotten to. Don't cut puppies
out of the signs. Well, it gets national news, it
makes the Washington Times.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
And I think Kyle Clark won me the reach of.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Rays because he exposed the puppy being cut out of
the side.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Well actually cover it.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Hey, he did. He did.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
That's interesting because I will contrast and compare that. So
he's you know, nobody cuts the puppies, and I'm glad
that he was on board with that. But our good
friend Cindy Romero, her favorite news man in this market
was Comrade Kyle a nine News as she was a Democrat,
and she watched nine News faithfully, religiously, and she encountered
(02:27):
members of the gang Trendy.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Arragua and the Edge at Lowry Apartment.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
Cinera, and she was living in mad Max beyond Thunderdome,
and she wanted to alert the media.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
And who did she turn to.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
First, Well, it would be Kyle Clark and sent him
directly an email for an exclusive for the very first
coverage of that story Crickets.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
She is still to this day never heard from him.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
And Cindy's been on my national news and stuff about
this you and me combined.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Okay, So what goes through his head that he does
that like that, He did.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Disrespects this incredible woman who took her life like she
put her life at risk.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Exposing this heighty Let's walk through that labyrinth, shall we?
Because Governor Jared Polis had just informed us that any
notion that there was Venezuelan gang activity in Aurora was
simply a feature of Danielle Jorinsky's imagination. Yes, Kyle Clark
had reported along those lines, much in the same way
that he called you crazy for saying that furries even
(03:27):
existed at schools or anywhere else. And then if they did, well,
that's probably a marginalized kid that deserves our sympathy. And
are you a bully, Heidi for picking on them? And
that's how this evolves. So they have a preferred, pre
determined narrative, which of course runs counter to journalism.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
And so this was not going to be convenient.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
For Kyle Clark that, oh, I'd have to walk that back.
Actually there are Venezuelan trendy Aragua gang members in Aurora.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
I don't think I want to do that. I'm just
recreating what he probably said to himself.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
That's pretty good. I'm impressed. I've always impressed by you, Ryan,
but that was good, you know. I just I'm shocked
at how they just toy with people.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
The media does, Jared Polis does.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
If Colorado citizens really knew how manipulated they were by
the liberal press and the politicians.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Who are in charge right now. I think they'd vote differently.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
And we did see some polling last week, and I'm
going to talk about this later in the show that
Magellan did about how they're getting frustrated. Democrat voters are
getting frustrated with their leadership. But what I read in
that poll, and it's a little worrisome, is that their
leadership isn't pushing back hard enough against Trump and the Republicans,
and they have no intention.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Of voting for Republicans.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
They're just going to vote for a different Democrat that's
more Birdie like, more AOC like.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
AOC had a very favorable rating in that.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
So Colorado is really voters really are the party of
AOCM Bernie, and they want their politicians and leaders to
be more extreme.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
What do you think about that? Do you agree?
Speaker 4 (05:13):
I don't think they have a choice.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
This is where they've boxed themselves into, Heidi. I think
you know as well as I do, and I believe
these are a preview of coming attractions for Colorado too.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
We've seen it.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
We've seen it in the form of Candy City Baka
now she was voted out of the Denver City Council.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
We've seen it.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
In the form of a couple of House members in
the General Assembly, they were primaried out.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
But oh, I have news, I have breaking news.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Did you see that Wanda James is going to primary
Diana to get is she know that's going to be
a crazy race to watch because there's another young gal
running too. I mean, I Wanda for whatever reason, she
got to be in her bonnet and does not like me.
I've never said more than ten words to the woman,
but ever since I was a re, like when I
was a regent phasing out, she was phasing in.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
She just went after me constantly.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
But I'm like, oh, Wanda, Wanda, you just got censured
by the Seior Regent Board for trying to manipulate funding
from a CU and Shoots project because it hurt your business.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
And now you're going to go run for Congress. That's
going to be crazy.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
Well let's break that down a little bit, because if
we follow the Zora on Mumdanni Kami Mom Donnie Babe
model in New York City, you know it's looking like
Eric Adams is going to drop out of their race.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I think so, I haven't been paying attention.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
Yeah, Curtis Leewa I think should even though I love
Curtis a lot, but it's gonna be Andrew Cuomo, who
I have not a lot of affinity for. But if
those are the choices, you and I are both pragmatists.
Zora Mamdani will be a disaster for New York City.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yes, so if those are the choices, then.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Andrew Cuomo is the obvious choice, but not for New Yorkers.
And there is this fear that AOC might primary Chuck
Schumer for his Senate seat.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Oh yeah, so we have this now.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
It's it's taking place right here in District one with
Diana to Get and Wanda help me, Wanda.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Help me, one help help.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
Now, what is going to happen with the Denver voters
if they really like this kool aid they've been drinking
and they want to go further into and they know
that Diana did to get all due respect is a dinosaur,
you know. I was born in nineteen seventy four in
District one. Prior to my birth, Pat Schroeder was the
representative for House District one there. She was there until
the late nineties when Diana to Get took over and
(07:25):
has been there ever since. Heidi, I'm more than half
a century old. That district has had two representatives over
that time.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
I don't even know what Diana to Get has done,
having no idea. Okay, we got a great comment, by
the way, on the text thread. Not only was covering
the TDA inconvenient for comrade Kyle, he's also much better
at taking on conservative women not so brave to take
on gang memories.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
There it is, and at that point that's the thing.
At that point, Cindy wasn't a conservative woman, but you radicalized.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Her, Kyle, and now she's one of us.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Will laugh right, Yes, before we have to go to
break in a few minutes, can you play me the
yms you told me.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
About the YMC a clip.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
Oh, you gotta be careful what you asked for. So
let me paint the picture here.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have welcomed the President
Donald Trump, along with Milania, the First Lady, and they're
on this stage. It looks like a pitch for soccer
or something. It's some kind of green green grass of
home field, and it looked to be some kind of
official British Royal marching band coming onto the field and
this is what the President of the United States was
(08:32):
treated to. Now one other note there. The aircraft that
(09:09):
you heard later on in that clip was I believe
the British Royal air Force flying overhead and they had red,
white and blue smoke coming out the bag.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
It was pretty anesome.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
It is so cool.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
It's very awesome.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I can't wait to watch that. That gives me a
little giddy up in my step exactly. I needed that
after this last week. I can't believe it's been a.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
Week, you know, longest week of my life.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
All right, well we're going to take a break. We're
going to come back lots to talk about. This is
Heidigan All filling in for Dan Kaplas.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
And now back to the Dan Kaplas Show podcast. I'm
at the basketball game.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
My son's damn shitness ass quick.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Fourteen to two, right, So I looked at the scoreboards,
turned into I said, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Why is the score of going backwards? And one of
my mom's there like they don't want to make us
feel bad, so they're.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
When they.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Take him points off.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
This is ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
I'm signed. The society sucks.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
I think he just said it all that Dad, who
was like, frustrated, they're taking points off the board.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
It wasn't even that big of a spread.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
My son plays basketball and we see thirty forty points
spreads and you just.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Suck it up.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
Well, not just a dad, that is a well known comedian,
Sebastian man A Scalco.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
I didn't realize that.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
Yeah, And he's saying what a lot of dads out
there would be thinking and feeling. And my dad, who's
still with us, would be just rolling his eyes. Although
he hates Trump so much so that he voted for
Joe Biden in twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Dad did, Yes, he did. I'm not really I.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Think he did go libertarian last night. He hates Trump
so much visceral personal hatred. Anyway, That's not how I
was raised or coached. Sometimes you lose and that it's okay,
And you know what, You learn so much more from
losing and picking yourself back up and making the adjustments
and figuring things out and improving what you did and
fixing your mistakes. When you erase those mistakes and go, well, kid,
(11:13):
you stink, but we're gonna reduce the score so you
don't feel as bad. What do you learn then? You
learn that if you're weak, if you lose, we're gonna
feel sorry for you and we're gonna give you charity.
Is that how we want to raise our sons in
America today? No?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
No, And you know I at this turning point event
we had the other day at the high school, local
high school, so many young men came up and personally
introduced themselves. They shook my hand, they looked in my eyes,
they said, thank you so much for honoring Charlie. Because
our first meeting was like a prayer for Charlie. And
we wrote letters to Erica, his wife and his kids.
(11:51):
Nice and there were the whole like the whole group
was like filled with football players and like just tons
of guys and they were writing these heartfelt knows to
his wife and kids and they were just.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Gentlemen and interesting.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Victor Marx, who's coming on at five point thirty six,
is a friend of mine. He's thinking about running for
governor and he wrote a book called Dangerous Gentleman. And
he reminds me of Rip from Yellowstone. You know, he's
just like this, Oh wow, I love that guy, big
personality and Victor is just a protector, like he he
runs an anti trafficking organization. He's been to Syria and
(12:27):
Iraq and they go in him and his wife and
rescue these girls.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
And the more I've taught to him are like, you
know what, Colorado.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Needs a protector. They need somebody to come in like
Rip and just go, We're gonna.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Take care of business. Why do you think Yellowstone was
so successful? What did it bring back? Masculinity? Yes, that's
not toxic. Masculinity is not inherently toxic. And that's what
a lot of our young men have been taught to
come up through the ranks, through their K through twelve experience,
through college, and to apologize for being male, to apologize
(12:59):
for being hetero sax, to apologize for.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Being white, and three strikes and you're out.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
So unless you genuineflex, bend the knee, apologize for things
that I just described that are beyond your control, then
you're a bad person that you're part of the fascists
out there. This is the ridiculousness we're dealing with, Heidi.
And why do you think Charlie Kirk's a big reason?
But why do you think so many gen zs and
younger young men like Trevor Kuchera Kelly Sun are going.
(13:25):
Why would I want to be part of a party
that hates me or thinks I'm a bad person because
I'm white or whatever, or because.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
I'm male because I'm male.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
No, we need more masculinity in America, not less, a
lot more.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
And that's the same feeling we had on Sunday with
our faith and talking about our Christianity and going to church.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
And you see all these.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Young people online saying, Hey, I went to church for
the first time last Sunday, or I want to read
the Bible, or I want to know more about why
Charlie was so committed to Jesus Christ. Who is this guy?
And I am just at warm my heart to see that.
That's what's come out of the last week. One of
the only positive things out of losing Charlie was he
(14:08):
brought so many young people back to their faith and
to be curious and to try and understand, you know,
this connection that he had with his faith.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
The irony is what Charlie Carr Cook then and what
I witnessed him doing through these videos and through his
speeches and his appearances and interviews that he gave was
he shined. He emitted this eternal perpetual optimism.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
He gave young men and young women.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
But a reason to believe in the feel good about themselves.
And this is the very thing, the very tonic that
a lot of these very disturbed youth who get absorbed
by the left and victimhood mentality that they are looking
to be enabled, they are looking to be validated. But
in the way that Charlie Kirk brought it to the
table was you're okay, exactly.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
The way you are.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
And you know who he reminded me of, and I mean,
this is the ultimate compliment, Fred Rogers. Ah, mister Rogers.
He was his constant positivity. He told kids, he looked
right in the camera and talked to them directly. And
he wasn't preachy about it from a religious standpoint, although
that was his foundation he was a Presbyterian minister. Was
you are okay, exactly the way you are, exactly the
(15:14):
way God made you.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
And that was Charlie was affirming people in that way.
Speaker 5 (15:18):
Like you don't have to change, you don't have to
chop off your body parts, you don't have to identify
the opposite gender, just be the person you are and
You'll be embraced and you'll be accepted, You'll be loved
by Jesus.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
That was Charlie's message as I saw it.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Oh, I agree with you, Ryan and I. He was
a happy warrior. He did it with a smile on
his face, which is why it's so shocking and unfortunate
that so many people think differently about him, that he
was filled with hate and violent language.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
It's nothing could be further than the truth.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Oh jeez.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
He just wanted people.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
To know the truth and to know how to look
past the political filter on the messages that they were getting,
especially on college campuses. Speaking of tomorrow night is a
huge event for Charlie.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Colorado State University.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I'm bumbed to see you didn't step up and do
this offered their stadium and they're covering the security expenses,
the event expenses so that all the different vigils that
were set up to replace the campus tour that was
supposed to be there tomorrow can have a place to
go and celebrate Charlie.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
And I'm honored to be one of those speakers.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
It's myself and Will Witt, who's from Colorado, young conservative influencer.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
And Isabelle Brown. I love Isabelle.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Do you know now she has a program now herself
right yep?
Speaker 3 (16:34):
On Daily Wires. Just watching Isabelle.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
I've known since she was just starting out at CSU,
and she's I just adore that girl. And we're also
having Andrew Willmack from Truth and Liberty and Walmec Industries
down there, who's a just a on fire pastor on
fire for his faith but also on fire for this country.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
And so it's going to be a really incredible event.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
People want to attend, Heidi, What can they do? Where
can they go? What should they Well?
Speaker 2 (17:02):
I think you can go to the Turning Point Clarida
State Chapter, or you can follow my social media at
Heidiganaal and I'm posting the links and posting the information
about it. It's at five o'clock, doors open at the stadium.
It starts at five point thirty and it won't be
a long event. It'll be over by six thirty seven o'clock.
But it's going to be a really neat experience, a
great way to honor Charlie and to just get us
(17:23):
all together because it really does feel like community is
what fills the soul right now.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
After this last week, and then.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Tory and I are going to head off to Arizona
and go to the big memorial.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
Oh wow, nice.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Down in Phoenix and hang out with some of the
folks we know from Turning Point and just give some
people some hugs. We're also going to deliver Erica and
our kids all the candwritten notes that were written at
Brave Church. I don't know how many people wrote them.
I haven't picked them up yet, but there were five
thousand people there. And then the ones that the Turning
Point kids wrote Club America is the club what they
(17:55):
call it in high school yesterday to honor them.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
So I think it's going to be.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
Really neat to deliver those, especially though for our kcol
listeners up in Fort Collins. You're right there if you
want to go to this event, want to encourage, you
want to turn these people out, you know, show Charlie
our appreciation for everything that he did and remember him.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Well.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Thank you, Ryan.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
That's true, and I don't know that there's been another
event up there, so excited for that. This is Heidig
and all filling in for Dan Capless. After the break,
we'll talk to the Elizabeth School Board members.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
You're listening to the Dan Capless Show podcast Capitalist.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Before we talk to our guests, Ryan, I had to
give some breaking news. ABC broadcast affiliate Next Star, who's
buying nine News, is removing Jimmy Kimmel from all thirty
two of their ABC stations until Disney answers for Kimmel's despicable.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Attack on Charlie Kirk. I say, that's good news.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
Yeah, you can't just go flinging around this horse manure
and not being held accountable for it.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
He's saying that, you know.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
We on our side that we're trying to deny that
the shooter was a maga republicly was not.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Was not. That's that's factually incorrect. That's false.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
That's fake news, fake news, fake news, worldly fake news.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
What is what is not fake news is that swastikas
were painted on banners for the Elizabeth school board race.
I have David, Mary and Nicole on the show to
talk more about this. Welcome everyone, and Nicole I'll take
I'll let you take the lead because I'm going to
talk to each one of you individually. If that's okay, great,
(19:44):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Nicole. Tell us a little bit about what happened.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
Yeah, So most of us woke up yesterday morning to
text messages from folks in the community saying we were
driving our kids to school and we saw swastikas all
over your banners. Now, these aren't just yard signs. These
are big banners. They're eight feet long, they're four feet tall,
and they're posted all over the district as a matter
(20:12):
of fact, but several we're posted right across the street
from the high school at property that supports our campaign,
and they were just we were all in shock. I
was shocked that I would see something like that happen
in our community, because we really do have a tight knit,
small and conservative community here. So it was really shocking.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Okay, thank you, Nicole. It is shocking. It's terrible and
should not happen in Colorado.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
We're anywhere.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Mary, tell us a little bit about your campaign and
what you guys are running on to get done in Elizabeth.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
Well, thank you for having us first of all. But yes,
we are called the Conservatives for Kids. We are running
as a slate. All three of us are currently on
the school board, and we are running on traditional and
at a curriculum. We are running on the fact of
we are all in support of the aco used lawsuit
and maintaining our position on that, so we are all
(21:09):
standing strong on that and the removal of the books
that were related to that lawsuit. We want good direct instruction.
Speaker 9 (21:20):
In our classrooms so that there's the.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
Teaching time is worthwhile, it's not just a little bit
of teaching time and then now go work on it together.
We want the teachers to really engage, and we want
the students to learn and have good shared knowledge that
they can use from time to time, year to year
and actually become useful citizens as they graduate from our
school system. As they come out that they are successful
(21:45):
and that they are they know what citizenship means. That's
what we're running on.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
That's wonderful, Mary.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
I think I don't hear anything I would disagree with,
and I've heard, you know, darn good stuff about Elizabeth schools.
I live in Loan Treesa not too far from there,
and know many of the kids that are students there,
and they're very bright, very engaged, and seem very patriotic too. David,
tell us a little bit about the challenges you're facing
in the campaign. Are you guys running into the teachers'
(22:12):
union or what's happening in the race. How do you
feel about it?
Speaker 10 (22:17):
Actually, I mean I feel pretty good. We live in
a community that shares our values and we share theirs.
And you know, when we removed the books from the library,
those were books that our community said they wanted removed.
It's a very symbiotic relationship.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Now, Why so the ACLU came in and sued to
put those books back in the library even though the
community doesn't want them in there.
Speaker 10 (22:49):
Yes, well that's how they work, Heidi. They they come
in and they can think that, well, you're a small
town community. We can just tell you what to do,
because that's who they are. And uh, but we I
think they were surprised when we're when we fought back,
(23:10):
and because we don't want them to get a precedent
here where that says that they these books can be
read by children, which is it's beyond reasonable, it's beyond
I still don't even understand how they can defend this.
(23:30):
So we they don't have anything to do with our curriculum.
They are age inappropriate for any of our students. And uh,
you know you're talking about books about suicide, incest, just
I mean, just the most horrible things that and they
they really shouldn't Our children shouldn't be reading these things.
Speaker 6 (23:54):
Now.
Speaker 10 (23:54):
If a child wants to bring this one of these
books to school and read it to themselves because the
parent wants them to do that, that's that's on them.
It's not like we've banned the books that we're not
into that, but we have removed them from our schools
because they do not match our curriculum. And they we
(24:15):
I mean, we couldn't even file some of this stuff
from our from our school district networks because it wouldn't
even get past the firewall.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 10 (24:29):
Yeah, that's the kind of stuff that they want our
children reading instead of you know, the curriculums that we
have worked with our community. I mean, parents are on
these curriculum and review boards. So it's not like most
of our community are good conservative people. It's there's a
(24:51):
small group here. They just think that their will is
more important than the will of the majority. They don't
believe it democra See, they don't want democracy. That's just
a buzzword for them.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
I think you just described the whole country.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Actually, there's a small group of people who believe that
things should be done their way and including I think
our governor and many of our legislators. You know, you guys,
how what's the feeling out there in elizabeth Does it
feel like things are shifting blue? Or does it standing
strong overall, not even just on the school board.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Nicole, Can you weigh in on that?
Speaker 8 (25:29):
Yeah, I'll start. You know, I think that there is
this really tight knit community feel, but there is this
sense that leftist ideology and indoctrination is starting to creep
our way. So I think what that's created is a
lot of families and community members who are on guard,
(25:51):
who want to protect what we love about our community
and want to protect our kids from this hate, hateful ideology,
you know, like the images, the swastikas that were put
onto all of our signs. I was done in an
attempt by the left to try to intimidate people into
being quiet and standing down. And I'll tell you, for
(26:12):
me and for my colleagues too, for David and for Mary,
I mean, it's made each one of us want to
stand even taller, to stand in the gap between evil
ideology and our kids' hearts and minds, because we know
that that's exactly what they're trying to do. They're trying
to change the hearts and minds of our kids, and
it's our duty and our responsibility to stand strong against
that evil hate.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Thank you. I appreciate that, and I know our listeners
do too.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
It's a perilous time being on a school board or
running for a school board. Thanks to all three of
you for standing up and staying strong and your values
and your principles and rejecting the woke agenda that they're
trying to push in our schools. And I'm so sorry
about this happening with the swastika. It's disgusting and should
(26:58):
never happen in our state, in our case, whatever, But
I want Mary, can you wrap up by telling people
how to get in touch with you guys or to
donate to your campaign.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
We have about thirty seconds left.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
Sure. We have a website called Conservatives for Kids dot com. Again,
that's Conservatives for Kids dot com, and we each have
You can find out about us. You can find out
what our goals and our accomplishments have been. You can
see all of the wonderful endorsements that we've received. But
there's also links on that page for each of our
(27:30):
campaign donations, so we appreciate it. We thank everyone for
their support.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Thanks to all three of you, and I'm so glad
technology worked. Kelly's a wonder and she got all three
of you on. I was going to manage to mess
that up. But this is Heidiganaal filling in for Dan Kaplis.
We'll be back after the break. Thanks again for coming.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
On, and now back to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Beautiful Ryan.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
I got to talk to him a little bit when
he walked out of the studio before I came in,
and what a nice young man, just so personable and
sweet and his mom too.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
I think that's going to be very healing for a
lot of people.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
Well, it's like I spoke about in the final hour
of my program today, and I would invite people to
check out the conversation I had with Judah Cox. He
is Judah Alexander on Instagram, where you can find him
uploading these videos, and he's only written a portion of
that song. He intends to finish it and I told him,
you send that to me as soon as you're done.
But young men like Judah give us hope at a
(28:34):
dark time like this, And what a dark day that
was the Evergreen High School shooting, the murder of the
assassination of Charlie Kirk happening at the same time on
the same.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Day, and it makes you question your faith. It rocks
you to your core.
Speaker 5 (28:50):
And it's like I said with Rachel Mains, my other guest,
who is a local Christian radio host here in Denver
of the Corner Cafe, mister Rogers, I mentioned him, and
I made that comparison earlier with Charlie Kirk. I remember
after nine to eleven, so this would have been some
years after. You know, I would have been in the
target market watching mister Rogers in the late seventies as
a little boy, but my little sister did. And in
(29:12):
the wake of the Twin Towers being attacked in nine
to eleven, in all the darkness we encountered at that time,
it was mister Rogers who told children to look for
the helpers, look for those that are making a difference,
the first responders, the heroes of that day. And it
really stuck with me. And for Judah Cox to come
home after enduring the trauma of that day and to
(29:36):
have it in him to write a song like that,
I mean, it just speaks volumes about his strength of
character and the person that he is.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
I agree, and I think there's so many other students
like that that just they want to be heard, They
want to be seen, they want to feel fully, speak up,
feel comfortable talking about how they feel about things. And
the combination of the fear and the violence and society
with the clampdown on free speech. I do believe that's
(30:05):
clashing right now, and I believe that's part of why
we're seeing gen Z stand up and say enough enough,
We're not going to do this. This is also the
generation that lost their prom and their graduation and we're
told they couldn't go to school see their friends. But
on TV they watched the riots and all kinds of
exceptions being made to whether they could see their friends
or not. And I think that's going to have a
(30:27):
devastating impact on kids for a long long time.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
I think we're at a crossroads in America, Heidi, for
a variety of reasons, but not the least of which
is are we going to choose darkness and despair or
are we going to choose hope and light? And we
experience that hope, that light with Judah, with the young
people you're talking about with the gathering and memorial and
remembrance of Charlie Kirk at Colorado State University coming up
(30:52):
on Thursday, and we have to find a way Heidi.
I mean, this is just the core of our existence
right now to turn whatever has happened, this tragedy, this
villainous act, and that which happened at Evergreen High School
along with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Find a way forward.
Speaker 5 (31:09):
I think turning to God and turning to our faith
and encouraging people to come together and to heal.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
And we can only extend that invitation, and.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
That's what Charlie tried to do, and we see what
happened with him, and it's up to other people to
accept that invitation. And until or unless that happens, we
can only control what we can control.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
In my view, well, and I would encourage everybody, everybody
to go to their next school board meeting.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
You don't have to.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Say anything, just listen, sit and hear people talk and comment.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
If you do feel like saying something, that's your way
to be heard.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
And also vote in these coming school board elections. There
are some very very important school board elections coming up
in just a few weeks, about seven weeks from now.
You can find out more about the candidates. You can
look do your research now so you know what they
stand for. Do they stand for helping kids find their voice,
be strong, be bold, learn to read, write, and do math?
(32:04):
Or do they stand for letting boys play in girls'
sports and boys be in girls' bathrooms and letting twelve
year olds go see counselors without parents knowing. Do they
let them change their pronouns without parents knowing?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Do they focus on.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Academic success because it's so so important to get back
to reading, writing, and math, and that will help our
kids from the basics. But then the emotional health will
improve because they're not inundated with all this woke stuff
in the school. It's like a filter, a layer over
everything that happens there.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
It's interesting you mentioned that because here's Charlie Kirk from
an appearance in Colorado talking about politics being local and
you should get involved. Exactly what you just said.
Speaker 9 (32:48):
I'm loving believer in states rights, and you read the
founding followers.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
They believe the smaller, the better, the more important decisions.
Speaker 9 (32:54):
Here, we thought we'd gotten away from them now in Colorado.
I'll say this is what's so the left is so clever,
if you give them credit.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
They hate states.
Speaker 9 (33:04):
Rights unless it benefits them.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
So they hate States rise.
Speaker 9 (33:07):
Unless it's marijuana. They hate the States rights unless.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
It's for vadroom stuff.
Speaker 9 (33:11):
They hate states rights unless's for gain aeragact o. You
staates rights for their agenda. But then in a minute
you're like, oh, you want to try to pass you know,
constitutional carrier, Like you can't do that right And so
I'm a big believer in states rights. I believe in
laboratories of democracy is justice leup Brand I said in
the nineteen twenties. So what can meaningfully be done.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
My advice for whatever is worth is stop focusing so
much on DC.
Speaker 9 (33:35):
I start focusing on your city council, on your local
town because right now we're seeing a trend for the
smaller the government, the more popular for the people.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
God bless America. That's what I tell everybody everywhere I go.
You are the leader you've been waiting for. Get busy
in your local elections. This is Heidi Ganol building in
for dan Kaplus I'll be back after the top of
the hour.
