Speaker 1 (00:00):

and to subscribe, download, and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. Absolutely perfect Friday afternoon.
I don't know if there's ever been a nicer Friday afternoon,
(00:20):
a more beautiful Friday afternoon across the entire Rocky Mountain
West Glad you are here three out three someone three
eight two five five the number text d A N
five seven seven three nine. So it's like a beautiful
weekend to head up and down the front Rage and
throughout most of Colorado. So we'll enjoy every minute of that.
And Trump on me. He just owns these people, right,
(00:43):
It is a beautiful thing. And he has all these
fresh creative ideas like the you know, big parade I
think you heard it at the top of the news
is going to be celebrating two hundred and fiftieth birthday
of the US Army, and without which this nation would
not exist, right without the US Army. And so he's
going to this big military parade in DC. And did
I hear it? Right, Ryan, Is it also the President's
(01:04):
birthday and maybe falling on the same day as the parade?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Correct?
Speaker 3 (01:07):
And of course CNN tried to frame it that this
was an honor of Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Well, and I'm sure Trump loves that, right, I mean,
he just he owns these people. So it is fun
to watch three or three someone three, eight, two, five, five,
the number. So much ground to cover this afternoon. Anything
on your mind, please just fire at will. I want
to get to this very important story from the Colorado
Sun regarding Yadira Carrall Vale, who, as everybody knows, as
(01:32):
a Democrat congresswoman until she was beat by Gabe Evans.
Before I go there, Hey, I've got to tell you
I really appreciate the outpourings. That's the fair word, just
the outpouring of support for finding this trucker who would
have killed our daughter if she had gone when the
light turned green. And I've mentioned on a previous show
(01:56):
that I have the video. Now I have the photo,
and so we will be able to find this trucker.
The quality of the video is such that the writing
on the side of the truck is blurred, so we're
trying to enhance that and then I talked to that
caller who called the show the other day, who's in
the trucking industry. He had some good ideas, but a
lot of different people employing their expertise at this point
(02:18):
help us find that trucker, and when we do, I
will let you know who it is, because my goal
right now is to make sure that trucker does not
kill somebody else's daughter, or somebody else's anybody, because she
would be dead if she had gone when that light
turned green. You just you can see in the video
see on the photo she has a solid green as
he roars into the intersection in a full eighteen wheeler
(02:41):
high speed. So yeah, now we're going to get him
all within the bounds of the law. Always three or
three someone three eight two five five text d an
five seven seven three nine. This Caravels story a little
heavy for a beautiful Friday afternoon, but important and some
really good journalism. You know, we don't have as much
this anymore, right, once the Rockymount News went away and
(03:03):
then there wasn't that competition in the major Denver newspapers,
but Jesse Paul doing tremendous work done at the Colorado
Sun and here's the headline. Derek Caravelle's former aids say
they were mistreated, traumatized by Colorado congresswoman. And here's the lead.
The Thornton Democrat twice appeared to attempt suicide last year
(03:25):
in situations witnessed by staffers while she was running for
reelection and serving in Congress. Aids asked that a safety
plan be implemented, but they were rebuffed and given an ultimatum.
And then they get into the details, which we'll cover
during the discussion. But wait a second. First of all,
(03:45):
heart goes out to her absolutely when somebody's suffering that
kind of depression, heart goes out to her completely. But
the public deserved to know. If you're running for office,
you have an obligation. Your political party has an obligation.
The public deserves to know if you're suffering that way.
(04:06):
Is there somebody who disagrees with that? I'd love to
hear from you. Three h three someone three eight two
five five text d an five seven seven three nine.
So again, complete sympathy for her and obviously want her
to get well. She's running again, which will work into
this conversation. Also, do you think she should be et cetera.
(04:27):
But to me, this is this is one hundred to
zero type of issue. There is no gray area, her
political party, her campaign. She should have let the public
know she was battling this and then let people make
a fully informed decision. Is this may be a terrible
(04:48):
talk topic because there may not be any argument on
the other side, Ryan, can you even conceive of an
argument in support of the Democratic Party and the care
of campaign and the candidate hiding this from the public
during an election, and even if there was an election
while serving in Congress.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
My perspective on this, Dan is very much aligned with yours,
with the following exception, and that is exactly thank you.
Why is it only coming out now after the fact,
this much time later, and through Jesse Paul's reporting, which
I'm not faulting at all. I agree with you. I
think he does great work for the Colorado Sun. But
(05:31):
is it only citing anonymous sources that refuse to put
a name to their accusations against Caraveo.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Well, first of all, if it's reporting you know from
this particular reporter, Jesse Paul, I have no doubt.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I'm not very oracity.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
I'm questioning the motives of the sources and why they're
doing this now and why they're firing these shots from
behind an.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Anonymous it's the same thing with Biden, right right, the
same thing, And we knew what's going on, and we
talked about on the show. But yeah, the biggest cover
up in American political history of Joe Biden's reality couldn't
fool us, but they were trying to fool the rest
of the nation. But no, here, you've just absolutely have
(06:14):
to believe there is no doubt in my mind. Can
I go out and prove it, No, not without subpoena power,
But there is no doubt in my mind. There were
people in the Democratic Party who knew when a human
is suffering that badly. And according to this story, there
were at least two incidents where staffers believe she had
tried to kill herself. Whether that's accurate or not, but
(06:34):
the incidents rose to the level where staffers reportedly believe that.
So all I'm saying is is you have got to
believe that the Democratic Party covered this up, and that
obviously the campaign covered it up. Yeah, and it's so
interesting to me that she's running again, and I'd love
(06:55):
to have the opportunity to talk to her politics aside
just human to human because as I mentioned, my heart
goes out to her because she's suffering so much like that,
But be interesting to see then why she wants to
run again and I could get that. Listen, I could
absolutely understand, whether it's a Republican or a Democrat, if
they'd gone through something that awful and they just they
(07:18):
want to just rebuild their life, and they want to
be out there and they want to be doing something
important and that's going to help them cope with their condition,
and they want to educate people on their condition. I
respect the heck out of that, no matter what party
they're from. And if she and the Democratic Party and
her campaign had just come out during the campaign and said, hey,
everybody has a right to know. You know, I've got
(07:40):
this challenge and I'm taking it head on and I'll
be a champion for this in Congress. What do you think, Cryan,
Do you think that would have helped or hurt her campaign?
I think it depends.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Like you said, transparency is golden in my mind, Americans.
You and I have talked about this a lot. Dan
are very forgiving people. We believe in second chances if
she's strunguggling. Like you said, I mean, this is an illness,
this is real, It affects a lot of people. It
could do a lot of good, like you said, by
presenting this issue in that way, and that she's gone
through therapy or treatment to overcome it, and it could
(08:11):
be a true success story that would work in her favor.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I believe that. But when you have again, it's not
just her.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
She's at the center of this, that's true, But when
her handlers are unwilling to come out with this to
your point, during a campaign where they really had expressed
concerns for her behind closed doors, the fact that they
only come out now, Dan, that is suspect to me.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Well, it's beyond suspect to me. I mean, and I
really I fault the Colorado Democratic Party first and foremost
and will never know for sure, right, But you've got
to believe there were people in the Democratic Party aligning
media who knew about this. But because I mean, it
involved police response, everything else, fire response to what I'm
(08:53):
so got to believe the Colorado Democratic Party knew and
chose to hide it. And this was a very very
close race down the stretch and listen. If their calculation was, hey,
this is a real close race. If we can just
hide it from people, you know, we think we've got
a good chance to win the race. If people know,
it'll probably cost us. Yeah, I'm sure that was their
political calculation. If they had taken the approach they should have,
(09:16):
which is going public with it and explaining she'll be
a champion for that cause, then at that point, who knows.
I mean, yeah, it probably would have hurt them, but
there's a real chance it would have ended up helping her.
Bottom line though is I think my personal belief Democratic
Party hit it. That's fundamentally dishonest. It's just like what
(09:37):
they did with Biden. But what do you think should
she be running again? Should it have been disclosed? And
what about you? If you would be inclined to vote
for a Democrat, would you be more or less inclined
to vote for say it was a Republican candidate, more
or less inclined to vote for him if they disclose
their battling serious depression and maybe maybe even attempted to
(09:58):
take their life. You're on the Dan Kaplick Show.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
And now back to the Dan Kaplass Show podcast.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
The economy and immigration still right, Okay, so we kind
of talk about it a little bit here when we
match up Donald Trump against the Democrats and Congress. But
what about the parties up against each other? Right, Donald
Trump has not seen those favorable polls when it comes
to the economy. When it comes to immigration, well, look
here which party has a better plan? And this is
the margin among registered voters. Look at this on immigration,
(10:32):
the GOP crushes the Democrats.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Look at that.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
That's a nineteen point edge, Mica discrition. You rarely ever
see leads like that in politics these days. How about
on the economy, where Donald Trump's numbers have been struggling
a little bit, but even their Republicans hold a nine
point lead.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yes see, this is beautiful. And this is kind of
a low point for Trump, right because, as we've talked about,
here's going to be that pain while he plays the
tariff card to get better trade deals, and then things
are going to roar. And so it is set up
more than it has ever been in my lifetime. It
is set up right now for this major paradigm shift
in America, and it's going to be more away from
(11:10):
the left than toward the GOP. And the reason I
say that is so many of these voters on November
four were not GOP voters. They were Trump voters. And
now the challenge for the GOP is to get them
out when Trump is no longer on the ballot, and
in the past the GOP has not been good at that.
That's where the demise of the left comes in. And
(11:33):
I'm not saying they're just going to blow away in
the wind, but it is so critical at this point
that that America, that America separates so much from the
left as the left continues to expose itself right as
what it truly is, this radical, secular lying a group
(11:55):
of big money and big power people who don't like
this nation very much and are trying to undermine its
basic foundations and principles. That's not your typical Democrat on
the street. I sleep with the Democrat every night and
married to her thirty thirty one years. So I think
Ryan tells me she's now an unaffiliated I've got to
ask her about that. But no, but that the people
(12:17):
who control the party in America is starting to see
it right, like you just heard in those numbers. So
this is going to be the big challenge for the
GOP to try to hold on to more Trump voters
than they've been able to do in the past, But
that a loan's not going to do it. It's going
to take the left getting more and more exposed and Trump.
Nobody has ever done that better than Trump. So hopefully
(12:38):
over the next year or two that will continue. Glad
you're here. Glorious weekend ahead. Can't get a nicer day
than the one we have today. We are talking about
this Ya Darro Caraveo story, and I've been very, very
critical of her on air on political fronts. This isn't
a political conversation about her today. It turns political when
(12:59):
we talk about the people who covered up her very
sad condition according to this Colorado Sun report, But it
gets into some deeper issues there. So if you just
joined us, we're talking about this superb reporting by Jesse
Paul and the Colorado Sun. Yadira Carravelle's former aids say
they were mistreated traumatized by Colorado congresswoman. In part, the
(13:20):
story says us Repudia Carravale's behavior last year while serving
in Congress and running for reelection was so frightening and
traumatizing to staff that AIDS proposed a safety plan requesting
that sharp objects be removed from the Colorado Democrats' offices,
but they forgot to mention that to the voters. I'm
sure they just got busy. They also wanted assurances that
(13:42):
subordinates not be responsible for talking her through suicidal thoughts
or keeping her company during a crisis. The plan, a
copy of which was obtained by The Colorado Sun, was dismissed,
and staffer say they were told they had a choice
either commit to continuing with Caravelle's mental health challenges or
resign within a day. I wonder why none of the
(14:03):
staffers decided to go public at that time, right just
to serve the public, and you would think it would
have been a service to her as well. In any case,
It goes on to say this story is based on
nearly a year of reporting, gets into a lot more detail, etc.
And clearly Jesse Paul did his homework here. The former
staffers who spoke to The Sun on the condition of anonymity,
(14:24):
said they felt mistreated and taken advantage of by the Congressoman,
especially when her many mental health issues led to a
pair of harrowing incidents last year, Caravel reports the Sun
twice appeared to attempt suicide in situations witnessed by staffers.
The first time was in February twenty twenty four, when
she sent concerning messages to AIDS, who rushed to her
(14:46):
Thornton home and found that she had taken nineteen sleeping
pills and was drinking alcohol, leading to an emergency response
and hospitalization. Then, in April twenty four, Caravel showed up
to an event at her congressional office in worthclin after
ingesting a large quantity of powerful sedative and had to
be rushed to a hospital. AIDS called nine one one
(15:07):
and led police and firefighters to the congress Woman. Caraveo
has acknowledged her struggles with mental health. Last year, she
disclosed that she had been treated for depression at Walter Reid,
but the way her work was affected and how that
affected those who work for her has not been previously reported.
She declined an interview. So it sounds to me like
(15:31):
a few takeaways from this and I'd love yours absolute
cover up by the Colorado Democratic Party. Can I prove
they knew? No? Do I believe to my core they did? Yes?
How could they not write, And the campaign clearly should
have made the disclosure. The public had a right to know,
and the fact that she and the campaign did not
disclose it to me proves that she was not worthy
(15:52):
of office, not because of the depression. I got to
tell you me one person, No, if I I a
candidate on the issues and they come out and make
that disclosure, I respect the heck out of them for
making the disclosure, and I'm probably going to be even
more likely to vote for him because that is a
major issue in society and somebody who's going to champion
(16:13):
that and can speak to it directly, that that would
be a positive if I agreed with the candidate and
other stuff.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
But Fann, Yeah, I don't have a very high opinion
of these staffers. And I'm going to ask the question
two ways once again, why not then and why now?
Why didn't they come out with all of this back
then during the campaign? Why didn't they alert anybody to this?
You're making that point, but why now? Why come out
(16:40):
with this now?
Speaker 1 (16:41):
I think I can be useful to you today because
I know the answer then, because they didn't want the
Republican to win. Now, because they don't want her to
be the nominee. Bing Go, Yeah, I think that's what's
going on. We've got some really thoughtful text on this,
and I've got to tell you on this whole depression
mental illness, I think it's one of the biggest issues
(17:02):
facing society. It underlies so many of our big expensive
in terms of humanity, human loss as well as dollars,
and our society right now is absolutely out of its
mind for not making this a high priority and doing
everything we have to do to attack it. So again,
very very sympathetic to her on the illness side of this.
(17:24):
On the cover up side, not at all. Texters. Dan
not only will Miss Caravel run again, she will be
re elected this time. Democrats and the so called independence
in this say our bat blank crazy case in point,
Texter says, Dan seems to me the Dems of a
pattern and a practice of concealing much about their candidates
and effect creating a false narrative. Steve in Littleton, But
(17:46):
there's no doubt about that, right, I mean, other than
us on this show and a handful of other people,
who is out there telling you for the last year
and a half before election day that Biden didn't have
the mental capacity and wouldn't be the nominee. This note
says dan her Son reported her suicidal actions. Donna wrote
that I'm not aware of the facts behind that, so
(18:07):
that's just a text at this point. But Donna, if
you can point me to the facts on that, maybe
it's somewhere in some of this related reporting. Dan, here's
here's an interesting question. Do you think there's an argument
that letting people know would have put her in more danger?
Let's take that up next on the Dan Capla Show.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
You're listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
James CommonWell, that an official of a political party who
is being paid or supported by that political party to
go out and raise money to defeat members of the
same party. I think that's a jack assery of the
highest level.
Speaker 6 (18:48):
James. Can you tell me if you.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
Want if you want to beat Republicans, of which, of
course lefties never do.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
They never even run against them. That's one thing. I'm
not into beating Democrats. I'm into beating Republicans.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
And I just tell you, right to your face, I
think it's abominal that you have anything to do with
the DNC and you're going to go and raise twenty
million dollars to beat other Democrats.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Well, it's beautiful. They're imploding, as they should, right because listen,
when the GOP loses, it gets nasty, and then there's
some infighting and all this and that. But the difference
is that the GOP is built around these core principles
and the Democratic Party is not built around core principles.
The Democratic Party, particularly post Row, became a collection of
(19:30):
special interest groups gathered together to get and keep power,
and the only core principles that they're arguably built around
are so radical and extreme that they have to cover
them up in order to win elections. You know, like this,
this radical, bizarre, wicked commitment to killing the unborn right
(19:52):
up to the moment of delivery and arguably afterwards. Just
stuff like that. Right, And so, because they're not built
around print or at least any principle that any Saint
American would support, when their power coalition now fails in
a big way, and then they start to split and splinters.
(20:12):
As more Americans are moving away and significantly working Americans,
which includes plenty of people of color, they're starting to panic.
And that's the key, right, because these are Republican voters
to a point, but they're more Trump voters who won
for US on election Day. So the GOP needs to
(20:32):
keep more Trump voters, and that the left has to splinter,
the left has to expose itself more in order for
the Republicans to be able to keep this up. And
the secret sauce, of course not so secret. The GOP
needs to succeed, get things done right, peace, prosperity, progress.
(20:52):
But the stage is set and it is a fun
fun thing to watch, as we promised for many months
before election Day. Three or three someone three, eight, two, five,
five texts dam five, seven, seven through nine, really thoughtful
great texters today as we talk about kind of a
rough story for a beautiful Friday, but the story broke today.
So my job is to get you important news. Jesse,
Paul Colorado's son, great investigative work exposing and reporting that
(21:17):
Yadira Caraveo, who ran that very close race against Gabe
Evans and narrowly beat Barb Kirkmeyer, that unfortunately she's been
suffering from serious depression according to the story. And I
hope everybody has their inner prayers and their prayers, but
but that it was hidden from the public. I got
to believe the Democratic Party in Colorado knew. How could
(21:39):
they not? The campaign obviously knew. This was all hidden
from the public. You know, talk about election fraud, right, Ryan,
You talk about election fraud when I don't care what
party you are, you hide something like that from the voters.
How can that be anything other than trying to rig
an election? I don't mean in a prosecutable way, but
(21:59):
how can that be anything other than trying to steal
an election? How can that be anything other than election fraud?
And again, none of it is prosecutable. I'm not talking
about that kind of election fraud, but how can anybody
deny that that's election fraud? And then we're talking about, Hey,
what if she had just come out and been honest
with it with the public. Because I would vote in
(22:20):
a heartbeat for somebody who was battling serious depression, was
open about it, was right on the issues, and otherwise
effective and could be real effective on that issue. I'd
vote for that person if they were otherwise aligned. She
wouldn't be otherwise aligned because she's hardcore lefty Texter Dan,
The last time I remember a political candidate with the
history of mental illness VP candidate Thomas Eagleton in nineteen
(22:42):
seventy two, is history of Depression came out and he
dropped other as Brian, thank you, Brian, whole different era
right now, right, because the stigma is off of that
as it should be. The stigma's off. Now there's a
fair question depending on the job. Hey, can somebody do
that job well if they're battling depression. Obviously the Caraveil
campaign and Colorado Democratic Party must have made a decision
(23:05):
that now voters would lose confidence center and that's why
it was concealed. And again I can't prove the Colorado
Democratic Party knew, but how could they not write and
I read you those details reported in the story about
the multiple hospital trips, et cetera. Yeah, but that stigma
is off, and it should be off, because I don't
(23:25):
want to get all preaching. You already know it. Until
this state and this nation start doing a whole lot
better job with mental illness, we're just killing ourselves because
it's the root of so many different problems. And of course,
I mean, how totally societally suicidal for Colorado to go
ahead and legalize marijuana when you've got these these serious
(23:48):
mental illness issues, including depression already going on when for
an awful lot of people using marijuana, and then you
crank up the popesy make it even worse, just magnify
nice depression. I looked at Ryan. I can't tell you
how many autopsies I looked at of kids who'd committed suicide,
researching this issue of the link between legalized marijuana and
(24:11):
the increase in teen suicides, and there's no doubt about
that link. But over and over again you would see
that connection, you know, depression, marijuana use, suicide. And I'm
not saying it's going to be every kid, but obviously
any idiot would know that the more marijuana, legalize marijuana,
the more marijuana you're going to have kids using everything else,
the worse you're going to make this mental illness. And
(24:33):
we have everybody knows it. It's you know, a children's
hospital declared to everybody else that this mental health crisis
with kids in Colorado, which is only made a whole
lot worse by legalization of marijuana. So all I'm saying
is Thomas Eagleton today, I don't think he would necessarily
have to drop out. What's that? My friend, zero B
(24:57):
is a tremendous hint. Yeah, I had pulled this last
night because these folks, and I hope you follow him
on Twitter. Johnny's Ambassadors just do tremendous work educating the
public on the harms of marijuana and particularly to teens.
And one of these great people had lost their son
to it.
Speaker 7 (25:16):
Your son has cannabis induced psychosis, said my son's psychologist.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
That was in twenty twenty one.
Speaker 7 (25:22):
Just two weeks before his eighteenth birthday, during his senior
year in high school. His initial symptoms or delusions of grandeur.
He was going to change the world with his music
because of the special vibrations in his hands, which he
covered with a glove. Over the next six months, our
world shattered into pieces when suddenly all forms of psychosis
became apparent in him. He experienced visual and auditory hallucinations,
(25:47):
religious delusions, severe self harm, a desire to become homeless,
feelings of superpowers, days without sleeping, suicidal ideations, to name
a few. We were devastated and do anything about it.
Speaker 6 (26:01):
Because he had turned eighteen.
Speaker 7 (26:03):
It felt like we were wearing a straight jacket of fear.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
He was hospitalized four times.
Speaker 7 (26:09):
Each time we begged them to keep him, to help him,
only to watch helplessly when they released him after three days. Finally,
on the fifth hospitalization, they deemed him gravely disabled. The
county conserved him, which forced him into treatment and medication compliance.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
I wish that was our happy ending, but it was just.
Speaker 7 (26:29):
The beginning of the devastating grief that comes from watching
your sweet boy I have his brain hijacked from THHC.
Nothing was helping his psychosis. Even six months of.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
Sobriety didn't pull him out. Were we ever going to
get him back? After months of.
Speaker 7 (26:47):
Failed medications, we finally found the right combination Closepine and Abilify,
and we started seeing glimpses of our boy again. We
are now three years down the road, thirty six types
of medications, three hundred forty nine days of actual hospitalizations,
ten treatment centers in three states, five horrifying disappearances, and
(27:11):
ten relapses. I'm happy to say, my mom boxing gloves
are on the shelf for now. He is a different boy.
He has a serious diagnosis. He is recovering slowly and
is still in treatment, but he finally has insight and
is med compliant.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
He recognizes he can't touch THC.
Speaker 7 (27:31):
Ever, again, he has gained much wisdom and now writes
songs about his journey. He is still our sweet boy
whom we love dearly. This did not have to happen
if he hadn't started using THHC products. Please know, cannabis
induced psychosis is real.
Speaker 6 (27:49):
It happened to my child. Educate your child on.
Speaker 7 (27:52):
The harms of THHC at Johnny's Ambassadors dot org.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
So powerful, and think about it, these sobs, and that's
what they are, these sobs, whether they're elected people, whether
they're the people just pocketing the big money off at
these sobs who push this THHC on kids. And everybody knows,
you legalize it, kids are going to get a whole
(28:15):
lot more of it because it's green lighted, and there's
a whole lot more out there. But these sobs who
push this stuff, and why do you think, why do
you think they want to crank up the potency, hook
them young, hook them forever? Why do you think they
want them to be little gummy bears? Not even subtle
about it. So these sobs who just try to hook
all these kids, and frankly, anybody and you've got some
(28:37):
people just you know, they're well intentioned, but just ignorant,
you know, who push the whole legalization thing, and you
got others who know exactly what they're doing, and it's
just terrific. It's just terrific. They don't care at all
about kids like that, They don't care at all about
parents like that. All they care about is their political
(28:58):
power and money. And at some point this state's going
to rebel. It's going to rebel against that industry and
against politicians who've sold their soul for that industry, and
it's going to say we care more about our kids
than we do that industry. And that day's coming. Let's
hope it's sooner than later. You're on the Dan Kapla Show.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
And now back to the Dan Kaplas Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Not afternoon across the Rockies, and it's going to be
beautiful through the weekend. I don't think the weather turns
again until Tuesday. And we all know it's up and
down this time of the year, but we just get
these stretches right, and then the stretches kind of become longer,
and then you get into June and it's the norm
so beautiful time of the year. Glad you are here. Sorry,
we're getting into a few heavy topics today only because
(29:46):
they're very newsworthy and fresh news, and that has spun
off of the great reporting in the Colorado Sun by
Jesse Paul that you're Derek Caraveo, who was a congressmoman
up in the eighth She had narrowly beat Barb Kirkmeyer,
a great candidate, she's a congresswoman up in the eighth
and then gave Evans beat her in a close race.
(30:07):
But Jesse Paul reporting that Caraveo was battling very serious depression,
reportedly to suicide attempts, all of which were kept from
the public by the campaign, and you got to believe
the Colorado Democratic Party knew and kept it from the
public also, So that spun us into a lot of
interesting conversation. So I hope you're join in that. But
(30:28):
there's much more news out there today as well. Jump
in anytime on anything you feel like talking about. We're
not going to do the sports thing, though, are both
Game sevens now tomorrow night. That's correct. At about the
same time, I know that what an insult, What an
insult to the Denver sports fans. They would not do
that to Chicago. They wouldn't do it to New York. Yeah.
(30:49):
Game sevens are special. Not that many come around in life,
and Abs and Nuggets both in Game seven you.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Go into the Nuggets.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Oh yeah, would I would not miss it, my friend. Yeah,
I mean, we are the official law firm of the
Denver Nuggets. You got to be there for a Game seven,
right you do? Or what chance would they have?
Speaker 3 (31:07):
They need the champions, That's all right.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
There may be some tough calls we got to argue there.
So yeah, yeah, so I've got a theory. And then
this is the last thing we'll say about sports until
the next break. But because obviously Jamal Murray plays like
he's been playing the last few games, and Nuggets are
gonna win. And I saw this tape. You see that
tape of Jamal Murray and this very cute, beautiful little
(31:32):
girl of his out on the court with him the
other day. I'm guessing she just started to walk, so
she's very young. But he's out there and he had
the biggest smile on his face that I've seen him have.
And and understandably, right, because what makes you happier than
been being with your kids? And so yeah, that may
that may be what has reignited him is just that joy.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
But yeah, it doesn't surprise you, not that the Nuggets
are one and a half point favorites, but that the
Avalanche are favored win on the road in Dallas.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
That's shocking to me. I think so too. Is there
a big Dallas injury or something?
Speaker 3 (32:06):
I don't know, but the smart money the Lions in hockey.
You're a little bit different and harder to read.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
But yeah, it's just is it plus one point five?
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Colorado is minus one thirty five, so you need to
back one hundred and thirty five to one hundred.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Dallas is plus one fifteen.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Wow. Fascinating. Well, I hope they're right, Dan. I wonder
if you have the courage to talk about the bond market.
I have the courage, but not the interest. Dan, you
are very poor Catholic. If you are giving comfort to
people who take their own life, that is a sin
that cannot be forgiven. Did I do that, Ryan?
Speaker 3 (32:41):
No, I think you've expressed sympathy for somebody that might
be contemplating to me in their own life. Yeah, you
want that person to receive the tread that they need.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
No, what one thousand percent yeah, so no, I didn't
say anything like that. Now, I will be the first
to admit I'm a very flawed Catholic and to work
in progress, but I love and believe in my faith
and I'm trying Dan. Last time I remember a political candidate, Yeah,
we did that one, Dan. All leftists are mentally ill. No, No, Dan,
(33:11):
not only Caravel will win again, he says, And that
may be true. It'll be in she's running, right, which
is why I'm guessing it got leaked now to try
to knock her out of the race because the Dems
seem to like the other candidate they have right, So
I'd love to know if this is being leaked by
the Colorado Democratic Party to try to run her out
(33:32):
of the primary. Dan seems the Dems of a pattern
of practice concealing a lot from Leo. I'm sorry, Steve Yep, Dan,
Attempting suicide is a sin and a crime. No sympathy
should be driven out of society. Driven out of society
(33:53):
is what would Jesus do. I'm trying to remember Ryan,
the woman caught in the middle of adultery and Jesus
kneel down was brought She was brought to him, and
then he started writing in the ground. I don't think
he wrote drive her out of society. If I remember right,
(34:17):
the reaction was something like, let he was without sin,
cast the first stone. Damn, I remembering that right on point.
I wasn't there. I read about it, and I think
it's really important. So I'd love to talk to this
texture and find out if they are Christian, and if so,
how they reconcile their text with that. Yeah. I thought
(34:40):
the whole idea was love the sin or hate the sin. Yeah. Yeah,
and no, I think one of the great developments in society,
and this has been across party lines, is that there
is not that stigma anymore for depression, nor should there be.
And and so, yeah, what would have happened if she
(35:01):
had just come out and been honest about it? Dan,
This is just one more peak behind the curtain at
the sickness of democrats. Can't manage your own life to
the point of wanting to kill yourself, But she had
no trouble putting herself in charge of my life. Wow,
that's pretty powerful. Wish are the best, but the hell
with that? What a powerful text? Speaking of that, when
(35:22):
we come back, do you want to talk about a
scary Democrat. We're going to play sound of a Democrat
legislator bragging about how they have a crash couch for
all these teenage kids.
