Speaker 2 (00:14):
Let's the celebration continue.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
But now we've got to take it to a whole
nother level, right four oh six on this pretty though
chilly Monday, Glad you're here eight five five four zero
five eight two five five the number text d A
N five seven seven three nine. Trump promised it right,
There'd be so much winning you'd get tired of winning.
And if you happen to be a fan of of Proncos,
(00:38):
the bosss, CSU, Rams, air Force, ETCA, you're saying, man,
do you think I'm going to get tired of winning? No,
not going to get tired of winning. But it sure
is nice. Glad you're here. So much to do, And
as we talk about President Trump, you know, I don't
want to be Danny downer, but you know again we continue.
We do have our official prayer the Dan Kapla Show,
(01:01):
and we will play that the Saint Michael the Archangel Prayer.
But I don't think he's ever been in more danger
than he is right now. And the reason for that
is that you can see it. You can see the
world turning, you can see it changing right before our eyes,
and it's really one of those kind of magical historic moments.
(01:21):
Doesn't mean, you know, unicorns and puppies and rainbows everywhere,
but it is. It's a moment I think, unlike any
that most of us have had in our lifetime. I
was way too young at the time of JFK to
know what that.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Was really like.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I mean, I remember some impressions and you read what
you read, it sounds like that was a time in
America when it looked like America might really come together.
And it wasn't as polarized as we are now, of course,
but it looked like there might be great things I
had for America.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
And then we saw, unfortunately what happened to JFK.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
But right now, I mean, we've talked about a lot,
but just over the weekend, you know, the very concrete,
tangible movement you see because of the election of President Trump.
I don't think there's been a I know there has
been a time in my young lifetime when we've had
the potential that we have right now for a tremendous progress,
(02:13):
for a great, big step towards unity. This is one
of those moments eight five for zero five A two
five to five. Will get into the details as you
text us at Dan five seven seven three nine, Anne totally.
I have to tell you I've had a lot of
fun with it on air, though. I think it's just
part of the beauty of our marriage. You know, man's
(02:34):
got to know his limitations, we know the things we
disagree on. So on election Day Amy will usually leave
the country, and this time she happened to end up
in France. So she ended up in France, which as
you know, is not always positive about America, and then
took the train over to England. And so what was
(02:55):
really striking to me, especially coming from my wife, who
is not a DJT, is she was telling me that
because they arrived on election day, right, well, I guess
it would have been just as the Trump win was
being confirmed. She would have hit the ground there. And
what she told me was virtually everywhere that she went
(03:19):
in France and in England, people were thrilled that Trump
had won. They were thrilled that Trump had won. You know,
there might have been a little bit of a negativity
here there, but overall people were just very very pleased
that Donald Trump had been elected president. And that doesn't well,
I guess it does surprise me just because of the history,
(03:40):
but in terms of anybody thinking analytically self interest, etc.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
It makes perfect sense, right.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
And and the comment that they kept tearing over there
was was about strength and strong and I think Europe
right now gets it there on the front lines, right
it's Europe being threatened by Putin, and Europe's on the
front lines and they understand, and it's peace through strength.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
And once Trump.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Laughed, well, Katie by the door, these awful things happen.
So I think you've got a lot of people across
the world thrilled the Trump on you share a lot
of people across the NFL. I mean, it is so
cool now to see the Trump dance. And we've got
some sound on that, don't we. Ryan, We've got some
sound on the Trump dance now just taking over America.
And one of the things I really love about that,
(04:24):
and it's usually done to YMCA, but the basic move,
which is kind of a you know, punch punch counter
punch punch punch kind of thing, you know, can really
go with a lot of different beats. But what I
love about the Trump dance is even I can do it.
And it's remarkable because not to be a jerk, but
I'm a really good athlete. I've got a lot of
(04:44):
great natural rhythm. But maybe it's because you know where
I grew up. Everything They just guys didn't dance, so
it's just nothing I've ever devoted time to.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
But even I can do the Trump dance.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
So really cool to see it across the NFL and
US racial lines and everything else. So man, great things
are happening anywhere on the verge of even more. I've
got to start with this sound right just because it's
in its own little way.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
It's one of the main exhibits here. Joe Scarborough and Mika.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
And you know the background, but just Trump haters to
the quarry's hitler this, he's hitler that well, they decided
to go bend the knee.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Over the past week, Joe and I have heard from
so many people, from political leaders to regular citizens, deeply
dismayed by several of President Elect Trump's cabinet selections.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
And they are scared.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Last Thursday, we expressed our own concerns on this broadcast
and even said we would appreciate the opportunity to speak
with the President elect himself. On Friday, we were given
the opportunity to do just that. Joe and I went
to mar A Lago to meet personally with President elect Trump.
It was the first time we have him in seven
(06:01):
years now.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
We talked about a lot of issues, including abortion, mass deportation,
threats of political retribution against political opponents and media outlets.
We talked about that a good bit and.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
That's going to come as no surprise to anybody who
watches this show, has watched it over the past year
or over the past decade, that we didn't see eye
to eye.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
On a lot of issues. And we told him so, yeah,
so why do you go?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Here's somewhere of that? And then I got to get
your Trump's response. I promise it before this first break.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
What we did agree on was to restar our communications.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
My father often.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Spoke with world leaders with whom he and the United
States profoundly disagreed. That's a task shared by reporters and
commentators alike.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
We had not.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Spoken to President Trump since March of twenty twenty, other
than a personal call Joe made to Trump on the
morning after the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
In this meeting, President Trump was tearful, he was upbeat.
He seemed interested in finding common ground with Democrats on
(07:10):
some of the most divisive issues.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
So they call him the morning after Butler and then
go right back to calling him Hitler. Right, yeah, yeah,
So anyway, I want to get your take on this.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Will play some more of that. But here is Trump's response.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
This morning quote mourning Joe and Mika, who owed their
careers to me, went on their show and claimed to
have met with me. They made it sound like we
had a summit. The truth is Joe begged to meet
with me after our big win, and when I finally agreed,
he approached me like a scolded dog. He should consider
(07:46):
himself lucky that I didn't have him thrown out a
beautiful mar a lago. Miko was charming as usual. Oh man,
He's going to be the funniest four you we've ever had.
This guy is just hilarious. I mean, there's never been
any body in our nation's history. I mean, there are
some Reagan parallels, but Trump's unique in his own way,
(08:07):
but where you can have the great sense of humor
and also then just be toughest steel. And that's the
single biggest stabilizing force that Trump brings to the table, right,
is his toughness and making the enemies retreat. But at
the same time, the guy is hilarious. So I can't wait.
I just think we're gonna have an amazing run. It's
(08:29):
just like almost a year ago. Can you believe that?
When we started twenty twenty four on Aaron, we just said, Hey,
this is going to be the greatest year of your
life politically, and it has been, right, because you gotta
have those ups and downs. You gotta be worried, you
gotta have the concern, you gotta think, oh no, maybe
the bad guys really will but we assured you throughout No,
(08:50):
Trump's gonna win everything else, but it's going to be
the greatest political year of your life. And I think
that's exactly what it's become. But it doesn't even begin
to compare, I think to the great things they had.
Doesn't mean straight line up. That's not how human endeavors work.
But the trend line is definitely up. So when we
come back, let's talk about a couple of those specifics.
President Trump confirming today intends to use the US military
(09:14):
as part of his mass deportation of criminals, meaning folks
who entered illegally and then committed other crimes. Here are
folks who entered illegally and have committed serious crimes in
the country of their origin, but Biden and Harris didn't
think it was worth vetting them on the way in.
So what do you think of using the military there?
And then we'll have the latest of our very deep
(09:35):
scandal in the Secretary of State's office, Jenna Griswold making
that conscious decision not to even tell our own clerks
those passwords had been made public here on the Dan
Capla Show.
Speaker 6 (09:48):
And now back to the Dan Kapli Show podcast. I'm
just saying I'm not a drinker.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I can honestly say I never had a beer in
my life. Okay, right, It's one of my only good traits.
I don't drink.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Whenever they're looking for something that I said, never had
a glass of alcohol.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I've never had alcohol.
Speaker 6 (10:05):
I've just, you know, for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Can you imagine if I had what a mess i'd
be would i'd be I'd be the world's worst.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
Well, but I never drank.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
I never drank.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
How do you think President Trump would be different if
he was a drinker eight five five for zero five
A two five five text d A N five seven
seven three nine.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
I think he's right.
Speaker 7 (10:27):
I think he'd be in a lot worse shape. I
don't think alcohol's ever the answer. I'm coming at this
from the son of an alcoholic, and he learned a
very valuable lesson I think from his older brother, Fred Junior,
and it just never appealed to him.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
He's a deetotaler. I respect that about him.
Speaker 8 (10:43):
Dan.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
I think that's something that you can kind of rest
assured that he's always going to be of sound mind
because of that.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Yeah, fascinating, fascinating, And listen, I think there are plenty
of people who drink who you know, are fantastic in
every way. I think it's just how it affects you individually.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
That's correct.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah, for me, it's kind of a wasted gift because
one of my I'm serious, one of my really freaky.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Things is that I have this massive.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Capacity to intake alcohol and not be affected.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
But I don't do it.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
You are, honey, irish because you know when Amy came home,
she found a beer bottle in the garbage, said, you
drink that. I've literally had one beer all year. But
I could sit down with you and I could go
out tonight let's do it, and I could sit there
and I could and kids don't try this at home.
(11:39):
I'm not bragging about this because I don't do it.
But I remember going to you know, yeah, twenty twenty
five and just unaffected.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
That's wild. Yeah, but I just don't do it. I
just don't do it.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
And when I say unaffected, I mean you know the
reason I don't do it is, you know, the next
day I may feel ninety nine percent instead of one
hundred percent. I just I'd rather feel one hundred percent.
Sound like Trump, Yeah, I mean he's you know, everybody
just knows their own thing. I know other people they
you know, they drink with dinner every night or whatever.
And yeah, it's hard for anybody be sharper than they
(12:14):
are eight five five or zero five A two five
five text d A and five seven seven three nine.
But how do you think he'd be different if he
was a drinker? Now he it's a lot of diet coke,
is that right.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
I know it's a lot of pop.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
I know there's a lot of pop to sort of
keep it going. But he is an absolute stallion. It's
remarkable his energy level and endur and sit something else.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
Donald Trump getting RFK Junior to eat a quarter pounder.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
From my guy.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yeah, that's that's at dan CAplus on Twitter, Speaking of which, Yeah,
I was wrong about that. I read a truth social
post of Trump's making fun of Joe after that visit
to the White House, the bending of the knee by
he and Mika, and you know, I found it all
over Twitter this morning, sites I consider reliable, and it
turns out it was a very crafty fake. So yeah,
(13:04):
Trump did not post that, and I'm actually glad that
he didn't. I'm actually glad that he didn't. It was
kind of funny if he did. But again, the way
I opened the show, I mean, at least in my
short lifetime, this is probably, you know, the most magical
moment as a nation in terms of the opportunity for
(13:25):
a huge step forward for the nation and the world.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
And it's enhanced.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Because it comes at such an otherwise dire time.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
I mean, look, at Jay Gotti.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Leftists both internally and externally, you know, led America and
the world to the brink of a lot of very
awful things, and probably the one guy because this week
could all agree on right across party lines.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
There's nobody else.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
There's nobody else who could have stepped into this moment
and had this positively transformative capability, nobody else on the planet.
Speaker 7 (13:57):
How do you think, Dan, that Joe and Mika would
have handled it if Donald Trump had lost the election?
Would they have gone to Marlatta or make nice with them?
Speaker 1 (14:05):
No, that they they would have been leading the charge
to cause him to die in jail. Yeah, and that's
you know, that's the reality that that's a little hard
to remember right now. I think for some folks is
is the left literally wanted him to die in jail.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
And think about it.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
I mean, just it's almost biblical in the sense, not
the sense that Trump's perfect, none of us are, but
his plus column far aways a minus, that's for darn sure.
But it's almost biblical in the sense that he was
teetering right there on the edge, right, and if they're
able to tip them the one way they want him
to die in jail, and if he doesn't die in jail,
(14:42):
it's you know, there's an awful lot of difficulty involved
with the rest of his life. I know there's comfort,
but there's an awful lot of difficulty. And now he's
literally on top of the world. And so again, it's
probably a good time for our where they You've got
Kamala the coconut tree up there, But I'm not seeing
(15:04):
you think.
Speaker 9 (15:04):
You just fell out of a coconut tree. You exist
in the context of all in which you live and
what came before you.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
How did she ever lose?
Speaker 1 (15:17):
And do you remember polists then tweeting out with the
coconut tree emojis, and the coconut emojis.
Speaker 6 (15:23):
Are trying to us make it cool?
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, oh man, yeah, how did that work out?
Speaker 9 (15:26):
Now?
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Well, but isn't that an interesting thing?
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Ryan that such a short time later, it's only been
a few weeks America now, and I think vast majority
of Americans look back and say, how could anybody have
ever even seriously thought of her to be president?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (15:43):
It's just that breaking of the spell, and you say,
and you yeah, so that's another reason why you know,
I'm not aware of a single protest of any kind
of meaning or size anywhere in America. No, not a
single car burned, or a single this or a single
that I'd love to hear from you on this. I
got my own theory. As you might expect, I'm surprised
why I am not. I am not Ryan personally. I'd
(16:06):
tell you if I was, but for the same reasons
that we'd been predicting you'd win and win comfortably. Yeah, Yeah,
I'm not surprised by it because I think an awful
lot of people, including on the left and including new
tend to vote left, are scared.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
They're scared of crime.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
They're scared of the open borders, they're scared of the
world on fire. They're scared of prices being so high
they can't live the way they're used to living. I
think that all contributes to it. Why do you think
can we'd love to hear from your da in five seven, seven,
three nine. Why do you think we haven't had any
of that? We haven't had Remember you had like a
million women march on Washington with pea hats, they called them.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Why none of that?
Speaker 7 (16:49):
Because it was such a resounding victory, he won all
the swing states, he won the popular vote, they don't
have a leg to stand on. And I think, deep down,
if they can separate themselves from their hatred for Donald Trump,
and maybe they finally ken in the aftermath of this election,
they'll be honest with themselves and admit there's a lot
of things going wrong in this country, that we're going
right under Donald Trump, that we're going to get worse
under Kamala Harris. And I think a vast majority of
(17:11):
election is like, you know what, maybe it's not such
a bad thing.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Donald Trump won, No, I think, and they'd never admit it,
right as we speculate before election, a lot of people
would vote for them. We would never admit it in
a million years. But yeah, I think the size of
his victory was that key ingredient. But again that's hard
earned and it just sets the table for so many
good things. So yeah, when we come back, I want
to dive into a few specific things, including that including
(17:37):
you know, Trump reaffirming today intends to use the military
to assist in the mass deportation of those here illegally
who have committed other crimes, as other crimes having been
committed either here or at their country of origin and
then they were let in unvetted, and when we come back,
I do want to get your take on Space Command.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
One of the things I've.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Prided myself on on this show for men many years,
going back to when I first started to talk about
Trump as president, which is twenty twelve. A lot of
people Freedi talked a bit about running in twelve is.
I think we've always been the most fair and balanced
show run And people say, oh, you're so pro Trump.
That'shifts because we've give him the credit he deserves. We'll
criticize him when he deserves it. And when we come back,
(18:20):
let's talk about Space Commit because I think it needs
to stay in Colorado Springs.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
I think it'd be a mistake to move it.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
What do you think you're on the Dan Kapla Show.
Speaker 6 (18:32):
You're listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.
Speaker 9 (18:43):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Song of the Great Memories Floodback. When that song plays,
fire up the family truckster.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
We're on the road.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Can it be a sub here on Friday? Because yeah,
eight hour drive, we'll make it a tarowhead. Me and
I are piling in the wagon really, yeah, driving out
to Arrowhead for CEU Kansas Interesting Saturday at two thirty Mountain, Well,
Kansas at one thirty Mountain two thirty in Kansas City,
maybe one hour, Yeah, maybe be ahead of us, so
(19:14):
probably one thirty mountain.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
Kay, you just defeated BYU on the road. They were
undefeated and ranked highly.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yeah, I mean, canu's be two top twenty teams in
a row. All their losses have been by less than
a score. It's it's going to be an amazing game.
And I won't talk whole lot of football here. We'll
get back to all the fun stuff celebrating the victory
that keeps on giving. But I just want to say this,
Okay that people laughed at me September when I said
(19:41):
Prime is clearly coach of the year, far and away,
no doubt about it. Nobody close check my Twitter. But
what's remarkable to me is you take Utah best defense
in the Big twelve. Their injuries have been mainly on offense.
Still best defense in the Big twelve. CU offense had
I think kind of a C to C plus day
and put forty two on him. My note was forty nine,
(20:02):
but one was a defensive touchdowns. All I'm saying is
great players great coaches, a ton of character, and they're
still jelling, they're still getting better. So I have a
good feeling they're going to put together one of their
best games at Arrowhead this weekend.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Eight five zero five two five five.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Congrats to the CSU rams still on that winning street,
boll bound and the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Eh.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
A lot of people said it, but we were among
them that the Bonnicks looked like the real deal. And
there can be no doubt now and no real doubt
now about the head coach. You know you just that
team has that culture. It's kind of like to me
and I set it on air the monday after See
you got schelect by Nebraska. I sat on air that monday,
I have never been more encouraged about this team because
(20:51):
the second half at Nebraska, when everything was going against him,
they had the character, they had, the toughness they had,
the coaching. They stuck together and that's where they really
turned the corner. That's second half against Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Did they see you buff?
Speaker 1 (21:04):
So great things I had, including the college football playoffs?
Who would have thought, Well, I guess I did, right,
didn't I predict a national championship for CEEU at the
beginning of the year, r.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
You were very optimistic at minimum.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yes, all right, let's get back to all of this
fun stuff we were talking about.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Hey, why not.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
A single protest, a single tim and say, I'm sure
there's been a demonstration somewhere like four people with you know,
who are high with the sign you know, Trump bad
or whatever, but none of that mass stuff. Why do
you think you know, I've given my theory on that.
What do you think Trump confirming today he's going to
use the military as part of the mass deportation, as
(21:42):
he describes it, of folks here illegally who have committed
other crimes. So how do you feel about the use
of the military Space Command which has been in Colorado Springs?
Trump intends to move it. Do you think he is
wrong to move it? I do think he's wrong to
move it, but he's going to move it. And and
you know, that's just one of the many prices we
(22:04):
pay for being a far left state, having far left government.
I don't think we're far left people. I think you
see that in a lot of ballot issues. But in
terms of you know, the Republican Party brand in Colorado,
which I think has has started to make that turn.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
And we've talked about it before. I will be labor
it here, but I.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Think the the start of the tipping point, or certainly
the GOP move back into contention statewide in Colorado was
the Gabe Evans winning CD eight. Certainly heard winning down
in CD three when Frish was printing money. Yeah, that
was really impressive, but a lot of impressive GOP elected
(22:45):
to Congress, and then of course the big win by
Gabe up in CD eight. So I think we're heading
back in the right direction. But we are deep, deep
blue state right now.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
And yeah, that's going to cost you in a lot
of different ways.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Education, crime, companies that don't come here because of that.
And then one of those ways, of course is you know,
losing space command, which is said it should stay here.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Ay five to five for zero five eight two five five.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
The number very interesting headline popped up over the break
on Gates. Let me play this from Jonathan Lamir Politico
MSNBC as deep a Trump paiter and is intellectually dishonest
to Trump Peter as you're ever going to find. And
then that'll set up the new information we have on
the Gates nomination.
Speaker 10 (23:31):
So First, the lawyer of the seventeen year old girl
says that Stay had sex and also there are witnesses
to this, and that that's all going to be detailed
in this report. And let's be clear, it was in
its final stages. Maybe there was one last spell check
that needed to be done, but it was on the
brink of coming out, and Republicans, not just Democrats, Republicans
in the Senate have made clear they will see it,
(23:53):
even some who have been pretty staunched. Trump allies Senator
Malin of Oklahoma, for one, who is you know, up
and down or what's what the president luc.
Speaker 6 (24:01):
Wants to do?
Speaker 10 (24:02):
But he's made clear he's like, no, no, on this.
We need to see this report before we really consider
this nomination. And as NBC and others have reporter over
the weekend, there's real doubts that Gates has anywhere near
enough votes to get confirmed.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
What do you think do you think the Senate should
get to see this House report? Now that Gates has
resigned there do you think Trump should forge ahead with
the nomination. The headline that popped up on CNN over
the break was that Trump is now personally calling senators
to lobby for the Gates nomination. So does that change
the equation for you? What do you think of that?
(24:38):
Eight five five for zero five eight two five to five.
I'll get to some text d A N five seven
seven three nine after we go to Beautiful Monument Color.
I don't talk to Chris. You're on the Dan Kaplis show.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Welcome.
Speaker 9 (24:51):
Hi, Dan, I got comment for you relating to the
movement or space command. Yes, you're aware. I hope the
space demand is a unified and ha's got component commands
underneath it. My understanding, and this was in the worst
I think by as space the Air Force component, but
they were going to be moving one person. It might
(25:12):
have been the headquarters element. I don't know the Huntsville, Alabama, right,
So when they say moving to space command, it's not everything.
I believe it's just one, either one component or the
just the headquarters element. Well, I want to let you know.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, thank you for that, Chris. And you're correct about
the headquarters. But to me, that's the most important thing.
And once you move that headquarters, it, to me, I
think is a practical matter a lot it's going to
follow that. But thank you for the clarification. My friend,
and so let me be more precise, the headquarters of
Space Command should not be moved out of Colorado. In
(25:50):
my humble opinion, Texter says, Dan, the movement of Space
Command Alabama is one of the few things with which
I disagree. The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs makes
Colorado a logical choice my mind. Of course. However, that
is a small price to pay knowing that all the
future good that Trump will accomplish. Hey, believe me, I
get the point we opened the show talking about, truly
(26:10):
in my short lifetime, and I'd challenge anybody on this
right now, has there been more of an encouraging moment,
a moment of opportunity, a moment where positive transformation on
a massive scale appears more attainable than this moment right
now in our lives forty years anybody lived through a
moment like that before here?
Speaker 2 (26:30):
I don't think I have.
Speaker 7 (26:32):
I got a question for you, Dan, because it leads
to my response to that which I would believe my
earlier memories at age ten, when Ronald Reagan defeated Walter
Mondel for re election, and just the glory years that
the eighties were under Reagan administration, the soaring economy. My
family personally benefited greatly from it. Did you vote for
Reagan either time eighty or eighty four?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Wow, I didn't become a Democrat until well, I was
a Democrat. I grew up at eighteen. I was a
Democrat when I first registered. I didn't become unaffiliated until
I think my wedding when I went to renew my
(27:14):
license before I got married in ninety four, and then
I became a Republican maybe a few years later.
Speaker 7 (27:21):
How did you feel about Ronald Reagan during those eight
years of his presidency?
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Love the guy, Love the guy.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
I was just And this is the thing, Ryan, when
we talk about how to win in Colorado again, and
because let's come on, we got to be realistic on this.
The GOP didn't sweep this presidential cycle. Donald Trump did,
and he carried some close Senate races with him. Now,
GOP had a lot of good candidates. I'm not in
(27:47):
any way discounting the quality of a lot of those candidates,
but this was much more a Trump victory than a
GOP victory. And it's you know, the jury's still out
on whether that's going to carry over to the midterm.
So I think it depends on how much success there
is between now and then and how much support the
GOP shows for Trump. But my point is Ryan as
(28:10):
with me. Okay, I grew up greatest parents in the world,
greatest upbringing in the world. They were very loyal Democrats
because they cared deeply about civil rights, they cared deeply
about protecting the weekend defenseless. They cared deeply about working people,
and eventually, with you know, the misfortune of rogue, deeply
(28:31):
about innocent human life. So I grew up a Democrat
and it was ingrained in me, it was habitual. But
here's the key point. This negative view of Republicans never
from my parents. You know, I heard my dad say
a negative word about anybody maybe five times in his life.
(28:51):
But I just grew up with this very negative view
of Republicans. But it wasn't like I was a hater.
It was more a commitment to the Democratic Party. I
remember liking Ford, I remember liking Reagan. I remember liking
well pretty much Ford and Reagan. But yeah, of course
(29:12):
I was voting Democrat that whole time. And all I'm
saying is if we want to win statewide, we just
have to realize there are a lot of people voting
Democratic where it's out of habit. They have this negative
view of the GOP, but they are reachable. I'm exhibit A.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
You're on the Dan Kapla Show.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
And now back to the Dan Kapla Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah, I headn't into one of those times. Heck, we've
enjoyed the start of one of those times. Whoopies not
getting it though.
Speaker 9 (29:40):
Well, if he's.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Right, then why didn't people vote for the former.
Speaker 10 (29:43):
Prosecutor who actually had policy plans to help the working cut?
Speaker 1 (29:49):
I mean, you know, she's responding to Bill Meher ripping
the Dems for running Kamala Harris, etc. And it sounds
like actually believes that. Here's why you should ever watch
see it. And again I have to write because I
do this job and I owe it to you. But
(30:09):
look at this insidious headlining. God forbid. I certainly hope
Blake and Riley's mother didn't see this headline. Judge to
decide fate of undocumented migrant charged in Georgia student's death
that fueled political debate. Wow, charged in Georgia student's death
(30:32):
that fueled political debate.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Wow, what's he charged?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
With is he charged with not rendering aid leaving the
scene of a car crash?
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
Why do you think whoever wrote that headline CNN itself,
why do you think that they would want to cover
for this murder, that they'd want to somehow try to
soften this so that why didn't they just say charged
with murdering Georgia's student.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
But it's charged in Georgia's student's death.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
That fueled political debate as if you know, the implication
is that he's the victim, that there's politics at work
here and she died and somewhile he's being charged for
political reasons.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
It's evil, it's heinous.
Speaker 7 (31:19):
Such an anodyne, sanitized headline to a fault And to
your point, Dan, the reason they're doing it is because
if they call it what it is, it confirms the
right is right on this issue. He should never have
been in this country in the first place. He committed
a crime in this country and was paroled to Georgia. Dan,
he was furnished transportation to Georgia.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
That was the testimony to day Yeah to Biden administration,
taxpayers paid to fly him and a buddy right for
in New York where they were staying at the Roosevelt Hotel,
and a taxpayer dime, it flew him down to Georgia
so he could kill her there.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
But CNN won't call it that. That's why Trump won.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
One of the many reasons Trump one Colonel Kert one
of the truly outstanding Americans.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Welcome back to the dan CAPLA show.
Speaker 8 (32:08):
Well, thank you very much, sir. I am glad to
be on and I thought this might be a good
place for me the way in because of my background.
Speaker 9 (32:17):
Yes, I look at.
Speaker 8 (32:19):
The question of the president using military effort to take
out the illegals from within, and at first that seems
to be a little bit on the awkward side, but
(32:41):
then you look at the president's and the oath of
the office, of the officers and the enlisted people that
are in the military, and it falls perfectly together for me.
I don't know if you've heardview that today or not
(33:03):
on the on the on it, but they're really very short.
The president square to affirm that I will faithfully execute
the office of the President of the United States, and will,
to the best of my ability, protect and the preserve,
protecting the finish the Constitution of the United States.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Well, and Colonel speaks to it from authority because he
has served America in the most dangerous and dramatic ways
for many, many years. And in fact, when Colonel was
honored at a Nuggets game, they do this great military
hero of the game. I have never heard that arena
louder other than the moment they won the NBA Championship.
(33:47):
But yeah, Colonel, as you know, President Trump intending to
use emergency powers linked to an invasion in order to
utilize the military. I don't think there's any question that
Biden and Harris deliberately engineered the equivalent of an invasion,
and by allowing so many unvetted people in, you know,
(34:07):
they created this danger and so many people with criminal
histories rape, murder, et cetera in the country of their origin,
along with lots of other people have no criminal history.
But I think America is going to support them on this.
Speaker 8 (34:21):
Right and and whenever you go down to the risk
of it. In the officers and the enlisted people, they
are saying that they will are defended against all enemies
foreign and domestic, and will obey the orders of the
(34:45):
President of the United States, and the officer are dis
appointed above them. That is exactly what we're facing. We
have domestic enemies. You can call them foreign you can
call them to domestic do mess. They have come in
as foreigners and now they are domestically present, and he
(35:06):
has every right of my beliefs to call on the military. Now,
what will be next?
Speaker 1 (35:11):
My apologies to music means that we're out of time
this segment, but so great to have your perspective on
this as a guy who's put your life on the
line for this country so many times, Colonel, grateful for that.
When we come back, I want to get your take
on the latest in the Secretary of State scandal.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
You're on The Den Captain Show.
