Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bryan schuling in for Roskominski on this Friday edition here
on KOA, and you can interact through out today's broadcast
on the KOA Common Spirit Health text line at that
number fifty six six ninety Gina and Chad says this Texter,
of course, going back to our morning crew, said that
Ace Frehley wouldn't have mispronounced his own name. So I

(00:22):
got to turn to Shannon and not to you know,
kind of age him here. But you are a little
bit older than I am, Shannon, So when I was
a little kid, I would call him as Freely, but
it's Frehley, Am I correct?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
The latter is the correct pronunciation. I believe it's the
correct pronunciation. But as a yeah, member of the Kiss.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Army, we all said Freely, Yeah, Okay, Well, let the
debate continues. You remember him passing away yesterday at the
age of seventy four, when the original founding members of
Kiss and I think back, Shannon my personal memories. One
of my very first memories, I'm four years old, so
I had just turned four late September. Halloween was a

(01:03):
month later, nineteen seventy eight, and that was like the
height of Kiss Army and their popularity.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
And I had a Gene Simmons mask.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
That was my first Halloween costume that I want trick
or treating, and I'm very proud of that to this day.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
It aged very well.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
But take us through your Kiss fandom, Shannon, over the
years and what appealed to you about them.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Oh, you're going to hate this.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
I was admitting to David Kle earlier that I wasn't
a huge part of that movement.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I really wasn't. In eighth grade, I remember.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
A lot of kids getting into it and I liked it,
I say, part of the Kiss Army, but I was
barely a private in the Army, so they assigned ranks.
I'm sure they did, but once again I did it
was a little bit too much for my metabolism even
at that time.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
What I loved about Kiss is they were in on
the joke that was themselves. You know, they didn't take
themselves too seriously. They were out of this world literally
Spaceman Ace Frehley. Their performances on stage was much more
about that stick and how they looked in the makeup
and the outfits and the characters they would appear on

(02:15):
Christmas specials they would save Santa Claus, they would be
in cartoons. That's how I viewed them as a youth
in the late seventies and early eighties.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
You know, Dan Kaplis leave it to.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Him, you know, to kind of spoil the party yesterday
as we're trying to remember Ace.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
He just wasn't a big fan of their music.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Now musically was Ace Frehley, Jimi hendrixs l ready Van Halen. No,
But that wasn't the point, right Shannon. This was about
having a good time.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Absolutely, As you saw my Facebook post with my daughter
years ago saying listening to some Kiss in the car saying,
you know, mom, Dad, I think I could party every day,
but not rock and roll all night.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Knows, we've all tried on one level or another.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
So if you have Kiss memories that you'd like to relive,
we're kind of going down that nostalgic trail both yesterday
and today. If you were tuned in yesterday, If you weren't,
where were you?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
You missed everything?

Speaker 1 (03:14):
But if you were, you remember me paying tribute to MTV,
which is apparently going dark on its music platform channels
in the UK. But you know that's got to be
coming here I can't believe that they would keep that going,
you know, it just test run the or going dark
of the channels over in the United Kingdom. But that
being said, MTV isn't what it once was, isn't what

(03:37):
it used to be, isn't what Channon and I remember
Chad Bauer. I could see his face light up as
we were talking at the end of the last hour
about MTV and what it was and his favorite video
being Aha take on Me, and that was groundbreaking for
its time. It opened up an entirely different art form,
and I don't remember a.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Lot of kiss videos though at that time.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I think they're hig to popular already would have been
late seventies as I recall it, and the founding members
Peter Chris, Paul Stanley, Ace Frayley, Gene Simmons.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Are you impressed on a new All four? Off the
top of my head? I am?

Speaker 1 (04:13):
But how you remember them and if you have fond memories?
I got a lot of texts yesterday over on my
six point thirty KL program, which you can listen to
live each day Monday through Friday two to four pm,
or catch it on the podcast subscribe download listen.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Ryan Schuling live.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
So many people's formative memories in music going to their
first concert all centered around kiss friends of mine on Facebook,
around the same age Ace in particular, and remembering him
and the construction of that band and the way that
it was. Just looking forward to your comments there at
fifty six six ninety now somebody threw in Robert Palmer's

(04:54):
simply Irresistible video. Any Robert Palmer video with the vampish
ladies that appear was memorable to me. So we'll keep
that conversation going from yesterday as well, because we want
to have fun on this Friday. I got some frivolity
in store. Definitely plan on some hijinks. Shenanigans are in play,

(05:14):
and if we're lucky, we might get to tom foolery.
And when you put those all together, you might even
get cheap chickanery. So I know, Shannon, you're a big
fan of all of those things, But if you had
to pick one, what is your favorite form of game?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
So you're building up to it, Donnie Brook.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yes, and okay, thank you Texter for this, because this
is the big debate saying it's pronounced freely not freely
duly noted. I think I got it right coming out
of the gate today, So I'm one for one. So
keep that score on the scoreboard. First concert, here we go,
nineteen seventy six. This textor was in seventh grade. It
was Kiss. It was a good time in the great memories.

(05:54):
They had reunited, the four of them, and alas, that
will never be again. So if you have those race,
hold on to them tight. This textor says fellow member
of the Kiss Army. First man I ever saw in
Germany nineteen eighty one.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
That's another thing. Excuse me.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
They went international and I would just love to see
like Kiss in Japan, like when you're big in Japan.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
That's the Alphaville song. They were big everywhere.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
And you know Dan's point capitalist from yesterday, and maybe
he's not wrong. If they didn't have the whole stick,
the ensemble, the presentation, the showmanship on stage, would their
music alone have reverberated with audiences. And maybe you have
an argument to the contrary. And if you do, send
those texts in as well. At fifty six six ninety,

(06:40):
as I mentioned to close out our Colorado Morning News,
Representative Gabe Evans will be joining me at the bottom
of the hour following up on our conversation with Senator
Ted Cruz from yesterday, and again we noted with the
breaking news that Senator Cruz that rhymed his favorite music
video of all time was Thriller by Michael Jackson. That's
the thing I love about Ted Cruz. You go from

(07:01):
a policy debate here he is Alan Dersho, which called
him the top student he ever had at Harvard Law,
and yet he's got a sense of humor and sensibilities
in other realms. He didn't know I was going to
ask him that question, and he gave a very entertaining
answer there as well some Mariar text as we go
on throughout today's show fifty six six'. Ninety Laura carno
will also be joining us in our second hour From Faster.

(07:23):
Colorado there was a bit of elevated, tension shall we,
say at A Jeffco school board meeting in which there
was public comment from parents after the Horrible Evergreen High
school shooting and whether or not dedicated SROs will be
part of the plan the policy going forward in every
Jeff co. School what that would look, like what that would,

(07:45):
mean what that would. Cost we'll talk more about that
With laura as she has been trying to inject her
program Faster, colorado and that means training and arming. Staff
personnel could be, teachers could be, custodians could be anybody
on campus there who works in the school's, capacity and
it could make for safer schools day in and day.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Out we'll take this early.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Time out come back with more of The Rosskominski show
after these. Words Ryan schuling filling in on A friday
here ON. Koa just a real bummer. DEAL i, mean
some of the people THAT i admire most from my
days In Grand Rapids radio at The Classic rocker there ninety,
Seven Lav Rob, brandt that, voice that, guy great, guy
as great a guy as the greatest voice as he,

(08:30):
Had andy O'Reilly, too and just the way That ace
was accessible to not only fans but the.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Media kiss in this, aspect they got it.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Right they got why they were, hot why they were,
popular and they never deviated from. That there wasn't a
BAND i don't think front to cover one through four
that like genuinely liked their fans more than those guys.
Did let's get some text along these, lines AND i
knew these would come in AND i don't necessarily. Disagree

(08:59):
kiss musically completely, overrated says this person on THE Koa
Common Spirit health text line at fifty six six. Ninety
you can join the. Fun they were nothing more than a.
CIRCUS i say the same thing About Ozzie. Oof if
it wasn't for the bat and other crazy, acts his
career would have been short. Lived nobody remembers them for great.
Music i'll quibble a. LITTLE i Think ozzy was incredibly

(09:23):
talented and was revolutionary for his. TIME i always try
to look at things in the moment that they happened
and whether or not they were revolutionary or, influential And
Black sabbath certainly. Was AND i think musically maybe you'll,
disagree But Black sabbath was on a different, level kind
of as original medal in the, seventies And kiss. Was you,

(09:45):
know it was more about the, fun and there's nothing
wrong with. That another. TEXTURE i had An Ace Frehley
doall loved it to this. DAY i think my brother
sold it On eBay WHILE i was. Away that's not.
FAIR i would sue, him taken the, court people's. Court
i'm fifty five, now says this. Texter is he or
she CONTINUES i fell in love with the, paint the,

(10:06):
costumes the merch BEFORE i even got into the.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Music that's What i'm talking.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
About even Now i'm listening to the music AND i
enjoy it even.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
More that's.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Great, YEAH i go Into spotify now create a kiss.
Playlist kind of. Reminisce the freely pronunciation reminds me of
The Neil pert pronunciation discussion after his. Passing, yeah with
my Buddy hutch down In Saint, pete we watched A
rush documentary And pert was an interesting. GUY i, mean
arguably the best drummer in the history of rock.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Or maybe any.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Music his kit was, Insane his talent was off the,
charts SOMETHING i wasn't aware of till. Later he was
the main lyricist For rush as. Well Getty lee tasked
him with, that and the documentary was. Fascinating neil was a,
GUY i want to, say a contempt for the. Audience
he liked the, audience he wanted to make the. Music

(10:58):
he wanted them to enjoy his, music but he didn't
see the point in interacting with the. Fans, so you,
Know rush, albeit you, know another one of these cult
following type groups and a four letter rock band Like.
Kiss part was kind of averse to interacting with his.
Fans he wasn't a big fan of. That this texter,

(11:20):
says My kiss story goes back to circa in nineteen seventy.
Eight that seems to be the magic. Year here my
mom won an eight track player At. Bingo oh that's.
Phenomenal you know the sound quality of the eight. Tracks
you might remember, This, shannon it was top. Notch you
were one of the cool. Kids if you had, one
continue me this text are. Now it came with around
a dozen. Tapes one of them was A Kiss Greatest hits.

(11:42):
Tape might have been two two hits or two. TAPES
i wore that tape out in about a. Month been
a fan ever. Since and then this. One the thing
that was interesting About kiss is really young kids got
into them because of all the makeup and.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Theatrics WHEN i was, SIX i Had kiss.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Posters all over my Not zeppelin Or, floyd et. Cetera,
yeah what was?

Speaker 3 (12:04):
That Gene simmons Of kiss discovered one.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Band i'm trying to remember what that. WAS i know
a texture will probably fill in the blanks there for.
Me in fifty six six ninety no Horse play that's.
All this texter, says no. Horseplay i'm not sure what that.
MEANS a fellow member of The kiss army here and
anybody else that wants to send those memories along will.
Reminisce we'll go down that memory. Lane at fifty six six,

(12:28):
ninety the person, says this texter who Called kiss And
azzi a circus most likely never tried to truly listen to.
Either another text a upset about this. Comparison, whoever just,
whomever nicely done just Compared kiss To ozzy is. Absurd
kiss were ahead of their time as far as marketing.
Music they were average at. Best, okay, music they were

(12:49):
average at. Best, okay this, one this is a hot
take on A. Friday ozzy very much Like Freddie. Mercury,
okay stop right. There as a die Hard queen, FAN
i don't know where you're going with, this but let's. Continue,
ozzy very much Like Freddie, mercury was more than just a.
Musician he was a. Showman and they were excellent at

(13:10):
what they. Did loved all their. Work, OKAY i can
see you threading that. Needle that's. Great and then this,
one as we go to, brag literally ran Into ace
as he ran off stage because he was starting to.
Puke oh a bar called Alibising glendale ninety. Four i'm
assuming That's. Arizona he was Fighting heroin at the. Time
rock and roll, Here, okay thank You shannon for. That,

(13:34):
yeah amazing that a lot of these rockers lived as
long as they. Did And ace, well he made it
to seventy, four Remembering Ace frehley that at the age
of seventy, four one of the foundational members Of kiss
passing away, yesterday his family notifying the public a, Break we're.
Back bottom of the Hour news Straight, Ahead Ryan schuling
in For Rosskomenski Representative Gabe evans straight ahead ON.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Koa, WELL i think it reflects more On Mike johnson's
leadership And President trump's.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Leadership this is a.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
Leadership which said it's okay to give a, well how
do you feel you tell? Me think it's a good
idea to give a trillion dollars and talks breaks to
the richest people in the country and then make massive
cuts the healthcare for working class.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
PEOPLE i Think Chuck human has voted for continuing The
resolutions thirteen times in the last four, years and he
has the opportunity to vote for one, again but he's
refusing to come to the.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
TABLE i.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Think, look, Look Senator Bernie sanders getting owned right there
by a questioner at A cnn town hall moderated By Caitlin.
Collins and, oh by the, WAY aoc was in attendance
With bernie as. Well it was a comedy of. Airs
we spoke With Senator Ted cruz about. It let's talk
To Representative Gabe, evans who is right in the thick

(14:45):
of it as, well Representing colorado's eighth congressional.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
District he joins. Us, Now, gabe thanks for your. Time as,
Always paul is good to be on with.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
You when you Hear Bernie sanders characterizing you, know his
typical talking, points what is your? Reaction and then this
is The democrat line right, Now Chuck schumer and others
that they're keeping healthcare away from those who need it
in The United.

Speaker 7 (15:06):
States you, KNOW i roll my eyes because it's a
blatant smoke screen to try to cover up Failed democrat.
Policies i'll give you two thoughts. Here, first when somebody
tells you who they, are you believe. Them you know my.
BACKGROUND i spent twelve years in the army another ten
years as a. Cop part of the Reason i'm In
congress right now is because The democrats campaigned for years

(15:29):
on defunding the police and opening the borders and giving
taxpayer money to illegal. Immigrants guess what they're doing all
of that stuff right, now just via a different. Mechanism
in the Shutdown dea that was taken Down trendy At,
agua the Violent venezuelan prison gang that was taken over
apartment complexes In. Aurora dea is not getting paid right.
Now Order patrol's not getting paid right. Now we've got

(15:51):
the third busiest airport in the country here In. Denver
our air traffic controllers aren't getting. Paid and what Did
Chuck schumer say about? That he, said, oh every day
it's better for us because he's just listening to his
radical base that wants to give taxpayer money to illegal
immigrants for health. Care and that ties to the second
thing that you. Asked republicans have made the largest investment

(16:15):
in rural health care In american. History this, year a
fifty billion dollar program specifically for rural. Healthcare we've put
two hundred billion more dollars Into medicaid this, year two
hundred and fifty billion more dollars using this year's a
baseline going into. Healthcare the only guardrail we've put around
it is it has to go To. Americans it cannot

(16:37):
go to illegal. Immigrants And Chuck schumer And Hakeem jeffreys
can't stand. That on page fifty seven of their counter
proposal to open the, government they have proposed to repeal those,
protections repeal fifty billion dollars for rural health, care repeal
two hundred billion more dollars go Into, medicaid and they
want to go back to giving taxpayer money to illegal.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Immigrants Congressman evans our guest and following up on that,
point you, KNOW i kind of get, It, GABE.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
I know how politics is.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Done Chuck schumer's got to save face with this far
left flank to try to stave off a primary challenge
extensively From Alexandri Castio. Cortes both she And Bernie sanders
pushed back pretty hard against, that but.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Didn't deny, it didn't say.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
No So i'm trying to figure this, out, honestly trying
to look at this left. BRAIN i know you do
the same thing What Chuck, schumer, realistically let's get real,
here expects there to be in terms of a compromise
or an off, ramp along With Minority LEADER A, Keen, jeffries,
You Ted, cruz The, republicans at, LEAST i, hope are
not going to see any ground on Funding medicaid or

(17:42):
any other taxpayer funded services for illegal, aliens which are
the very basis on Which President trump signed executive orders
along those.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Lines that's a no go. Zone it should be.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Anyway so what is the off ramp that saves face
For schumer and keeps them in The senate minority position
and in his very seat in The.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
Senate that is a great. Question AND i don't know
That schumer And jeffries even know what that off ramp
is right. Now you, know they claim that they want
more subsidies to be continued For, obamacare THE aca. Exchanges,
however just, recently within the last forty eight, Hours schumer was, Offered,

(18:22):
okay you claim this is what you, want we'll bring
it to the floor of The senate for a vote
in exchange for opening the. Government he turned that, down
said it was a non. Starter, jeffries but The democrat
leader in The house very. Similar he was, asked would
you support a bipartisan one year extension for these subsidies
that you talk about all the time to open the government,

(18:44):
up and he said it was a non. Starter so
the very things that they claim that they, want they
don't actually. Want they've turned down opportunities to have conversations
about those.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Things it truly is a.

Speaker 7 (18:56):
Case of the far left tail wagging the rest of the.
Dog with the dog at this point being The Democrat,
party they don't even know what they.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Want Congressman Gabe evans joining us, NOW i know you're
a Freshman Congressman, gabe and you're doing your level.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Best on behalf of the citizens and residents of the
Eighth Congressional. District you're doing a fine.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Job have you had any personal, interactions, conversations even in, passing,
informally formally, whatever with any of the following A, King jeffries,
Himself Bernie, Sanders Chuck, schumer anyone, else that you've had
a substantive conversation of any kind regarding the shutdown on or.

Speaker 7 (19:34):
Not, nope they tell, You they tell you till they're
blue in the.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
Face they just want to talk about.

Speaker 7 (19:41):
It but when you actually want to talk substance about.
It not a lot of.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Interest NOW i want to go to One democrat THAT
i think you should seek out a conversation, With gabe
because he might be the only Same democrat and an
entire body On Capitol, hill be It house Or. Senate
and that's The democrat question mark From, Pennsylvania John. Fetterman
here is his very base to take and we'll have
it again coming on the other side of this.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Break.

Speaker 9 (20:06):
Yeah, well it's, like that's why shutting the government is
really what The Democratic party wants to. Do AND i follow,
country then, party and it's the wrong thing for the
country in a period of. CHAOS i refuse to vote
to shut our government. DOWN i absolutely would love to
HAVE i would love to have a conversation about extending

(20:31):
the tax credits for. Healthcare, absolutely BUT i would remind everybody,
too this was designed by The Democratic party to expire
at the end of the. Year this is not something
taken from by The. Republicans that they were designed to. Expire,
now let's have a conversation to extend it and not
shut our government, down and let's continue to help it has.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Already agreed to that now that was a part of
THE covid subsidies that were originated during The biden, Administration,
gabe and in good, FAITH i think, You Speaker, johnson leader,
soon you've brought that very same thing to the, table
even though in A republican Controlled, Congress i'm sure you'd
like to roll a lot of that back.

Speaker 7 (21:13):
WELL i, mean you, know and to be, fair he
Has he's been one of the Few democrats in The
senate that has consistently voted for this clean cr no
partisan writers or smoke filled backroom, deals just continue to
fund the government At Status cooletto. Levels betterman has consistently
voted for, that you. Know to be completely fair for,

(21:33):
him BUT i, mean he hit the nail on the
head when he said that these subsidies were designed by
The democrats When Joe biden was in The White house
And democrats controlled The house and The senate DURING. Covid
they were designed to expire this. Year they're not expiring
Because trump or The republicans are taking them. Away they're
expiring because The democrats made them. Expire and again going

(21:54):
back to the previous talking, point The democrats are trying
to use this as a smoke screen to detract from
all of their other failed policies that are returning right.
Now and this is why we have a government. Shutdown
because they're, rudderless they're, directionless they don't.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
Know what they.

Speaker 7 (22:12):
Want they just know that they're. Mad and because they're,
mad they're shutting the government, down denying our law enforcement,
paychecks denying our air traffic controllers. Paychecks and this needs to.
Stop we need to Put america.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
First final point, Here Representative Gabe evans our guest from
the Eighth Congressional, district and it's one of the THINGS
i wanted to make sure that we talked about during
our conversation. Here, gabe you know you are in a
very purple district that you won. Narrowly you're running for.
REELECTION i know you're a target of The. Democrats and,
conversely you could say the same thing About Representative Don.
Davis he's in a swing District democrat out Of North.

(22:47):
Carolina but you came together on this piece of, legislation
a bill Entitled Hiring preferences For veterans And americans With Disabilities.
ACT i know my home State Senator alyssa Slot, Ken,
democrat purple State michigan is also involved in this on
The senate.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Side but if you've got a nuts and.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Bolt sit here for, us for our listeners why it's
important and why you chose to take this up.

Speaker 7 (23:09):
Now, Yeah so, again you know there there truly is
a lot of bipartisan work that happens In congress that
never really makes the big time media headlines because it's
not as exciting to report. On, hey people agree and
are working together to make life better for. Everybody so
the bill that you, Mentioned i've introduced it in The.
House i've Got Don, davis A democrat in The house

(23:30):
who is My house co. Sponsor it's actually bipartisan and.
Bicameral we have A Republican Senator Tim sheehy And Democrat
Senator Alissa slotkin who are sponsoring this in The, senate
and at a pretty simple. Bill it's a bill that's
personal to. Me, again you, KNOW i spent twelve years
in The, army and The army had me all. Over
i've been stationed In, arizona In, kentucky In Washington, state In,

(23:54):
alabama In, virginia in The Middle, east and so when
you're moving around all the, time you don't typically change
your permanent. Residence your home of record is what we
call it in the. Military WHEN i was stationed down In,
alabama my home of record was still here In, colorado
regardless of where the military stationed. Me but that can
present problems if you have either the military member themselves

(24:17):
or their spouse who is trying to volunteer or work
as an election. Worker and so one of the things
that this piece of legislation That i've introduced does is
it says that in hiring an election worker the state
or local, jurisdiction they can't deny somebody that job just
because they're a non, resident spouse or military.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Member Representative Gabe evans getting the good work done on
behalf of the people in the Eighth Congressional. DISTRICT i
just wish he was my. Congressman i'm stuck With Jason.
Crowe you follow the latest ON X where can they
follow you, There?

Speaker 7 (24:54):
Gabe, Yeah so go visit me At. Rep evans ON
x or visit the Website gabevans Dot house dot.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Gov always appreciate your, time keep up the good, work
stand your ground on this budget. Bill it'll get. Through
The democrats'll. CAVE i think you AND i.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
Both know, that, well we're going to keep fighting to
Put americans. First and when The democrats talk about what's
a non, STARTER i MEAN i can tell you The
republicans are pretty committed to making sure That american tax
payer money goes To.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Americans my conversation With Congressman Gabe, evans many of you
and our listening audience may well be represented by him
in THE Us house and lucky you in that Eighth Congressional.
District your texts on THE Koa Commons Spirit health text
line fifty six six ninety This friday edition of The Roskominski,
Show Ryan schuling simply filling in your steward for the,

(25:44):
moment And ross will be back On.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Monday so you had that to look forward.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
To our conversation in The First, tower reflecting on the
life and times Of Ace, frehley the lead, guitarist a
composer of a lot of the music and those lead
guitar licks for the, band and a kind of compiling
your memories out there of this band and what they
meant to you And Ace. Frehley perhaps in a specific,

(26:10):
regard this texter, asked how Did kiss get their?

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Name?

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Now this is the subject of some debate over the,
years AND i remember there was a push from the
then evangelical right to kind of spell out what these
abbreviations in the band's names. Meant for, EXAMPLE acdc would
have stood For Anti Christ Devil. Child, well we know

(26:37):
that it was simply about. Electricity, okay now we can
get into this. Debate as a serve on my mom's,
Side Nikola tesla was robbed of his, idea.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
And that was alternating.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Current it was a much more stable form of delivering
a payload of electricity and. Power And Thomas, edison one
of his chief, rivals was backed by an outfit that
would become a General electric and would buy Out westinghouse
and all of the patents That Nikola tesla. Had tesla
set up shop right here In colorado to our. SOUTH

(27:09):
i Believe colorado springs a genius of his time and
of all. Time but direct current was What edison was working,
on and that had some problems associated with.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
It, regardless AC Dc Angus, young the whole.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Outfit they named their band after that because you know
they played electric.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Guitars, okay that's all that.

Speaker 10 (27:30):
Was.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Well kiss was another one of these that was allegedly
standing for remember this one shan kids In satan's. Service
this is from The evangelicals, now and you, KNOW i
love The evangelicals, now but back then they're little.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Square it was not hip to be, square not the
way that they. Were but that was the.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Story there was still controversy behind the actual naming of the,
band and in particular the. Logo this is From, wikipedia
so take it with a, Salt but this is WHAT
i found on short notice for A texter with the
question about where they got their. Name Paul, stanley one
of the members the founding members of the.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Band, kiss came up with the.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Name it says here while, He Gene, simmons And Peter
cris were driving Around New York.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
City this is A New York city centric. Band you.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Know Ace frehley back in The New york. Groove that's
where that comes. From he's A New york, guy was
A New york. Guy continuing now from The wikipedia, Entry
chris mentioned that he had been in a band Called.
Lips So stanley said something to the effect of what About.
Kiss frehley created the now iconic, logo making the s

(28:40):
s look like lightning.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Bolts so, oh.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
When he went to write the new band name Over
Wicked lester on a poster outside a club where they
were going to. Play some Of Wicked lester's artwork included
one lightning bolt for the s In, leicester so maybe
he kind of.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Borrowed that idea issue always says stole.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
It, Later stanley designed the logo with a sharpie and
a ruler and accidentally drew the two s's non parallel
because he did it BY. I the art department asked
him if he wanted to be redrafted to be, perfect
and he, said it got us this. Far let's leave
it well enough. Alone our number one rule has always

(29:20):
been no. Rules now you might have put it together
that there might be a problem with two s's together
that looked like lightning.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Bolts you got.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
It yet the letters happened to look similar to the
insignia of The, naziss a symbol that is outlawed In
germany By section eighty SIX a of The German Criminal. Code,
However simmons And, stanley Both, jewish have denied any intentional
likeness To nazi symbolism in the. Logo since nineteen eighty

(29:51):
most of the band's album covers and merchandise In germany
have used a different logo in which the LETTERS ss
looked like the LETTERS zz. Backwards all zz top might
have a legal. Case now they're not going to do.
That this logo is used In, Austria, Switzerland lithuania And
hungary as well to avoid. Controversy oh here it. Is

(30:14):
it's right in The wikipedia article WHAT i just. Said
so it's not just fake, news and you don't have
to just take my word for. It ALTHOUGH i don't
feel entirely empowered By wikipedia alone reinforcing my, take but
it says here Again. Wikipedia the band's name has repeatedly
been the subject of rumors pertaining to alleged hidden. Meanings
among these rumors are theories that the name is an

(30:35):
acronym for knights In Satan's service KINDER ss kinder we
want a kinder GENTLER Ss George Herbert Walker bush.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Or kids In Satan's. Service that's the one THAT i heard.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
About simmons, Again jewish has denied all these. Claims, yeah
the conspiracy theorists, abound but it simply was a car
ride and a band that would have sounded like lips
which lips to, kiss analogous in some way if you
think about, it Remember Buddy holly and The crickets now The.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Beatles there was a joke And John.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Lennon was a really funny guy with a great sense of,
humor that the Name beatles came to him in a
dream and you shall Be beatles like the bug but
with an. A they did do that, Intentionally but the
story goes and, again IF i have this, right check my,
work feel, free but that The, beatles that name was
an homage To Buddy holly and The. Crickets Crickets beatles

(31:35):
derived from. That Buddy holly was a hero of. Theirs of,
course the day the music died along With Richie allens
and The Big. Bopper and that is the story behind
the Name. Beatles so you got two for the price of.

Speaker 11 (31:46):
One.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Texter you didn't even ask for The, beatles and you
might not even like. Them fifty six six ninety let's.

Speaker 3 (31:51):

Speaker 3 (31:52):

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Okay we talked about the serious stuff With Gabe evans
and love the. Guy but you, know let's keep this,
off shall We kiss deserves credit for starting the glam
rock bands of the. Eighties, Now, texter there are those
out there that might quibble with the word credit and
might substitute. Blame how do you feel about the glam
rock bands of the, eighties because you're absolutely, right you,

(32:15):
Know Twisted, Sister, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Poison you, know.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
That whole genre of rock definitely owes itself in some
of that the, look the, presentation the, image the style
to that which originated with, kiss this. Texture first ALBUM

seventy seven in a grocery store In Iowa, City.

Speaker 3 (32:39):

world like as part of a PowerPoint.

Speaker 3 (33:03):

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Yesterday how you KNOW i would never want to belong
to a club that would have me as a member
Trademark Graucho marx on that, quote AND i am very
much in line with the Character Martin Blank MARTIN Q
blank From gross Point, blank iconic movie of the, nineties
When Dan aykroyd's character is trying to get him to
join an assassin's union that they would all collectively. Bargain

(33:28):

a group email and address. Appointment if somebody's got something to,
say they can either reply, all which that gets a
little messy at, times or they can reply directly to
the person asking the, question and.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Then it's just between the two of.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Them but, no we got to have this big zoom
meeting where everybody's logged in and their eyes are glazed
back over in the backs of their heads and has
nothing to do with the job that they're actually. Doing
colossal waste of? Time AM i wrong? HERE i don't

Public Com Mention High. School but board members did thank
everyone for sharing their. Thoughts they also let them know
that there were mental health resources here on site at
the education building for anybody that may need. It live
In Golden COLTON chowdz Nine news.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
And our thanks to Nine News Colton chavs for that
report and those sound bites that will follow up on right,
Now Ryan schuling in For roskominski here ON. Koa to,
me this should be pretty close to a one hundred zero.
ISSUE i know that it's, not but it doesn't even
feel political to. Me you would rather have a DEDICATED
sro in a public school than not give me the

(49:36):
reason for. Not, oh the, kids they're. Scary it feels
like they're walking into a. Prison, well how about a secured.
FACILITY i know WHEREVER i go IF i see an
armed police. Officer If i'm a customer at a grocery
store AND i see that In Greenwood, village WHEN i
go To King, SOUPERS i feel better about. IT i
know that there's not gonna be any nonsense going on
at that store Where i'm, shopping that shoplifting won't escalate

(49:59):
into something, else some kind of a, robbery for. INSTANCE
i don't see where less is more in this. Case
in the wake of The Evergreen High school, shooting we
know that one of the shooting victims was just released
from the, hospital having suffered very severe, injuries and joining
us now in her effort to PUT SROs in all

(50:19):
public schools In, colorado including the training of personnel and
staff at said public. Schools Laura, carno you can follow
her on x at that very handle At Laura. Carno
she's the executive director Of Faster colorado and she joins us.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
Now, laura thank you for your.

Speaker 8 (50:36):
Time, sure thanks so much for having.

Speaker 5 (50:38):
Me.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
RYAN i want to focus and perhaps you heard it
on the. FATHER i believe it was a father that
we heard in the public comment portion of that Jeff
Co School board meeting that, said if you put strangers
with concealed weapons and, SCHOOLS i won't be sending my kids.
THERE i couldn't think of a more off the mark
read of what you are striving for with your program
At Faster colorado than.

Speaker 8 (50:58):
That, yeah and certainly it's it's fine for parents to
be scrutinizing every uh everything that the schools are. Saying you,
know we could do these these types of things to protect.
Kids it's it is proper for parents to scrutinize THOSE
i think, though once parents hear what those programs are really,

(51:19):
like they would have a much better comfort level with
them because the you know where that that father, said you,
know strangers with concealed Carry, really what these folks are
is folks that have been you, know in your child's
school for you, know years to. Decades typically they are hand,

(51:41):
picked they're very thoroughly.

Speaker 7 (51:44):
Vetted they are.

Speaker 8 (51:46):
Trained in firearms as well as law enforcement, is and
they actually have more requirements on them from a firearms
standpoint throughout the. Year so it's very different than most
parents think it. Is and and you, know, gosh we've
been so busy Since evergreen not just talking to school,
boards but talking to parents like that who, Say, Hey

(52:07):
i'm hearing about. This it makes me really. Nervous can
you tell me more about? It and typically at the
end of those conversations they feel better about it because
they know it's not just you, know people willing nearly
walking onto campus, armed but it's a really deliberate and
well thought out.

Speaker 3 (52:26):
Program Laura carno our.

Speaker 1 (52:28):
GUEST i want to follow up on that point and
try to assuage the fears of that father that we,
heard because it sounds Like, laura once the information is
given and people really know what your program's, about what
AN sro on site would, entail and that's no longer
left to the darkness of misinformation and, misinterpretation they become

(52:49):
more comfortable with. IT i think part of this is
a pr battle, too both by you and by the
public schools that want SROs in.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
THERE i just go back to my.

Speaker 1 (52:58):
Experience now high school for me would have been like,
eighties early, nineties BUT i remember In Jackson, County, michigan
we had a deputy that would stop. By she wasn't
there all the, time and it wasn't much of an
issue back. Then in terms of school. Shootings BUT i
remember her, Name Deputy. Aggie but one of the things
that was done was building a relationship between the students
and whoever that law enforcement officer, is or whoever the

(53:19):
designated person might be to be AN sro in that,
school so that the kids felt comfortable going to, her
not just with any other, issue but that she was
there to help them rather than look at them as an.

Speaker 3 (53:31):
Adversary, yeah that's exactly, Right.

Speaker 8 (53:34):
Ryan school resource, officers who for your, listeners are members
of police departments or sheriff's. Offices they do a ton
of good. THINGS i, mean certainly they can be there
as the terrence to crime or responding to crime that
happened on school. Campuses that they also helped to develop
from often from a very young, age with these, kids

(53:56):
a healthy relationship with law. Enforcement you, know are there
bad apples here and, THERE i, mean you, know randomly
and very, occasionally but for the most, part law enforcement
is an amazing resource for people throughout their whole, lives
and it's good for children to develop to develop that
sort of, relationship including kids who might not have strong

(54:17):
role models in their in their. Lives it's it's really
great separate from school resource, officers which you know are,
expensive is the armed school staff. Members and these are
people who already work on the. Campus they already have
a concealed carry, permit and they are willing to commit

(54:38):
again handpicked and thoroughly, vetted but they're willing to commit
to an extremely rigorous training, schedule not just the annual
training that we do at, faster but ongoing training throughout the.
Year and what they, provide whether they're school resource officers
there or, not it's you, know kind of a mixed
bag out, there but they provide that concealed.

Speaker 10 (54:59):
Care.

Speaker 8 (55:00):
Hurry the bad guy doesn't know who is armed and
where they, are just like you know when you go
to the store or you, know wherever you are in,
public lots of people are still caring and bad guys
don't know. Who that keeps us safer because keeping the
bad guy's guessing is what's important.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
There Laura, carno executive director Of Faster colorado joining. Us
you can find out more about her organization online At
fastercolorado dot. Org on the other side the far side
of this, Spectrum, laura and we know that this argument
has not aged. Well the likes Of Tay, anderson who
campaigned to GET SROs out of The Denver public schools,

(55:38):
entirely and that had dramatically negative. Effects AND i want
to focus on something that you, said which is in
the wake of The Evergreen High school, shooting that there
has been an increased interest in finding out more About Faster,
colorado about the training and services that you provide through that.
Organization do you feel that the tide is turning in

(56:01):
terms of the perception of arming school staff members on
a regular, basis concealed carey and OTHERWISE SROs and.

Speaker 3 (56:09):
Schools is this momentum going in the right? Direction?

Speaker 8 (56:13):
YEAH i mean it is continued, Too. Ryan we're in
our ninth training year now At Faster, colorado and with
every one of these terrible school, shootings the tide continues
to turn because more and more, people regardless of political,
Ideology as you, said this is not a political, topic
this is a matter of public. Safety we continue to

(56:37):
get more people interested in what's going. On what was interesting,
though after The Evergreen High school, shooting and let's remember
it happened within that same time frame as When Charlie
kirk was, ASSASSINATED i think a lot of people combined
their concern and fear and anger and all of those
emotions for both of those, things and they, said this

(56:59):
has gone to. Stop and you know what we saw
specifically with a school board member In Jefferson county last,
night who said that safety is a, privilege not a,
right AND i could not disagree.

Speaker 20 (57:12):
More we.

Speaker 8 (57:13):
Don't we don't sit around and wait for our government
to dole out our safety as it sees. Fit that's
not the country who we live. In but since, then
it's really Been i'm going to say ten times the
the response that we typically, get AND i think that's

(57:33):
a very very good. THING i think what happened at At,
evergreen especially since there was a school resource officer assigned
but not there right, now it really put a fine
point on, that on that idea that when somebody is
there who could stop, it stop a shooting with equal,
firepower and then that person, leaves it leaves children. Vulnerable

(57:56):
AND i think that that point really hit out for.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
People Lor carnel Faster color our guest final, Question, laura
you And i've had this conversation. Before in, fact on
the day of that shooting in, question like you mentioned
it coincided with The Charlie kirk assassination In. Utah you
have expressed frustration in the past about dealings With Jeffco
public schools and whether or not they would be open

(58:18):
to at least entertaining the thought of having your, training
your program come into their school. District has that changed
in the time since, Well and, first.

Speaker 8 (58:29):
Folks can find out more At Faster colorado dot. Org
Ift SO i don't forget to say, that But i'll
tell you we haven't had any conversation at this point
with the school, district but the parents Of jeffco kids
are fired the heck. Up they had a school board
meeting last, night as you know from that news report
that you, played and there were lots of parents. There

(58:51):
they were very, organized they were very. Professional lots of
them brought up armed, staff a couple of them name
Check Faster colorado in, particular are potentially people always talked
to over the phone to educate. Them parents need to
demand whatever the security they want for their, kids whether
it's armstaff or something. Else they need to demand, that

(59:12):
and school board members need to know that if they
don't do what their constituents, want what their voters, want
that they will be replaced at the next school board.
Election and that's how it. Works elections have, consequences and
if you're not listening to your, constituents you know you
might not get.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
Rehired find out more about one of the most important
programs in my view in this state At fastercolorado dot.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
Friday here On.

Speaker 10 (01:08:44):
Koa police are celebrating THEIR ai drone. Unit but the
drones come from a company that has not been truthful
With coloraden's about who can access the data they collect our.
Spencer soisher continues his long running coverage of flock safety and.

Speaker 17 (01:09:02):
Privacy life flies.

Speaker 21 (01:09:04):
By this is the technology we use to record the
radio traffic back, then.

Speaker 17 (01:09:09):
And if police state warriors wanted a real time reel
of the rapidly changing surveillance, technology.

Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
This was state of the art.

Speaker 17 (01:09:17):
Technology show them this press conference In Castle.

Speaker 21 (01:09:21):
Rock jones's first responders is what's?

Speaker 17 (01:09:23):
Next with waivers from THE, Faa Castle rock police are
now FLYING ai drones at four hundred feet daily without an.

Speaker 21 (01:09:31):
Observer no longer will an officer have to respond to the,
call get out of the, car and then deploy the
drone at that.

Speaker 17 (01:09:39):
Location Castle rock signed a three, year six hundred k
deal With, flock the controversial company running license plate scanners
across the country and In colorado and putting that tracking
data in a shareable, database.

Speaker 21 (01:09:52):
And then the pilot has the opportunity to see the
car that went through that license plate.

Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
Readers how many federal contracts we.

Speaker 17 (01:10:01):
Don't flock is the same company that just a few
months ago TOLD us and local police departments that it
had no federal contracts and immigration agents did not have
direct access to license plate, data which was not.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
True why should.

Speaker 17 (01:10:15):
Anyone believe that that's not going to happen with data
that you collect on these?

Speaker 11 (01:10:18):
Flights NO i.

Speaker 21 (01:10:19):
Don't know what you're speaking, to BUT i can tell
you that we have guardrails and. Plays we have policies
and plays and a transparent transparency.

Speaker 17 (01:10:27):
Portal Castle rock now has a website that shows each
flight log. Online both the police department And flock say
the drones will collect data differently than the license plate,
readers and the videos taken are subject to the same
rules as bodycam video considered public, record but the potential
for misuse worries privacy advocates like The Electronic Frontier.

Speaker 4 (01:10:48):
Foundation it's a lot of information to have about individuals
that if it's not, secure can do a lot of.

Speaker 21 (01:10:55):
Damage even back in nineteen eighty, four police officers could
access sensitive.

Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Information so you have to.

Speaker 21 (01:11:02):
Have the policies in, place in a guardrails, place and
you have to have a culture that's not going to allow.

Speaker 17 (01:11:06):
That The Electronic Frontier foundation is big on the anti
police state, stuff and that researcher we spoke with says
one of their biggest concerns With flock being the vendor
for these drones is that they already have such a
large customer base on the license plate, readers and now
they're getting into the.

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
Drone first responder.

Speaker 17 (01:11:22):
Market they wonder what else could next be added on
If Castle.

Speaker 12 (01:11:26):
ROCK pd is being honest that they truly did not
know about existing concerns With flock that have been widely
covered by this mediautlet and, others and that they did
not know That flock has been caught very prominently not
telling the truth about their. Services that's a Prilly it's
a pretty telling.

Speaker 17 (01:11:41):
Statement, yeah it seems concerning to say the. Least they
say that they're not expecting to have any sort of
data collection like they would have had with the license prey,
readers but it's certainly concerning to hear.

Speaker 12 (01:11:52):
That, Yet, yeah you want to know who they're in business, with,
right you?

Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
Know all?

Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
Right spens sort, sure thank.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
You And Kyle clark Nine news as we start off
this third hour Of Ross kominski With Ryan schuling filling
in here on Ko another's two sides to this coin
about being concerned about the surveillance of these drones In Castle.
Rock the first side of that COIN i get from
a libertarian Standpoint Fourth amendment argument against unreasonable search and

(01:12:21):
seizure acquisition of data and how much they are able
to acquire and what they use that for and who
they share that with about the Typical colorado citizen and
The Castle rock. Resident on the other side of that, coin,
though is what we've heard argued by the likes Of
Denver Mayor Mike, johnston which, is, hey wait a, minute

(01:12:41):
we don't want these drones getting the license plate tag
numbers of illegal aliens and sharing that information WITH ice
for deportation.

Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Purposes here to talk about both sides of that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Coin he is the district attorney in the twenty third
where This Castle Rock Police department. Reside George, brockler my good,
friend joins us.

Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
Here, george thanks for your.

Speaker 1 (01:13:03):
Time what is your response to what you just heard
and to my breaking it down with the two sides
of the, Coin, WELL i think you.

Speaker 11 (01:13:11):
Nailed, it and by the, way thanks for having me. On.
RYAN i think you nailed. It in terms of the
concerns for.

Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
People that don't.

Speaker 11 (01:13:18):
Know Castle ROCK pd is one of three police departments
and four major law enforcement agencies that operate Within Douglas.
COUNTY i haven't COUNTED csp in, there but you have
Laun Tree, Parker Castle rock And Douglas. County Castle rock
has for many years under the chief of police's Named Jack,
cawley been on the cutting edge of technology and data

(01:13:39):
for purposes of Making castle. Rock and you've seen this.
Everywhere we've talked about it on. Air one of the
safest cities in the state Of colorado and this region
of the. Country so it doesn't shock me at all
that they have pushed forward with an effort to try
to go to that next level in an effort to
guarantee more safety for the community and for their own
law enforcement. OFFICERS i, Too i'm a little freaked out

(01:14:01):
by the idea that we're rapidly getting to a place
where government monitors and does stuff with all of our.
Movements but this isn't. THAT i don't see this that.
Way we accumulate a ton of personal information on people
all the, time and that information is stored in databases

(01:14:22):
that are they hackable by The chinese or some nerdy
kid in his mom's. BASEMENT i guess they, are and
that happens from time to. Time but that doesn't cause
anyone to say that's. It we're done collecting the. Information
we look for ways to make it safer and to
keep it under. CONTROL i think that's what's going on
with this flock. THING i think this flock drone, project

(01:14:43):
it's a pilot project for. THEM i think it is
a force, multiplier which, means rather than hire one hundred
officers to do the exact same, thing and that is
to come over to the area every time there's a
call on, something they can launch a drone that can
get there, faster, safer doesn't have to zip through, traffic
doesn't have to run, code drive through, intersections none of,

(01:15:04):
that and can start providing real time information to the
men and women we entrust to make sure that the
situation is safe and know what they're getting. Into that to,
me is the issue in a. NUTSHELL i don't see
the problem with a lot of people that Say i'm
opposed to. Flock i'm opposed to the license plate readers
think that there's Some chinese government out there who is

(01:15:26):
monitoring all of These americans movements and stuff like. That
you're going to have to give me one second, Here,
Ryan i'm sorry forgive me.

Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
Man, yeah And i'll fill in the blanks right. Here
As George, brockler our, guest twenty Third District. Attorney What
Kyle clark gives voice to there in the aftermath of
that package is again this libertarian Argument Fourth amendment, based
at least if we're taking it in good spirit against
unreasonable search and seizure that, flock this particular, brand this

(01:15:56):
system That Castle ROCK pd has signed up, for has
not been an entirely truthful or forthcoming in terms of
who they are sharing the data. With AND i have
to imagine the conclusion there is ice regarding illegal. Aliens
but again getting to that more noble argument About american
citizens who have the right protected against unreasonable search and

(01:16:17):
seizures without probable. CAUSE a lot of this comes from me, Personally,
george AND i know that you share this. Concern you
just said so from The Patriot act about you, know
in your best, interest we want to ensure your safety and,
security you're going to have to sacrifice a little bit
of liberty and freedom in exchange for. That and we
saw some of the dark side of that as a
result of The Patriot.

Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Act and UNLESS i am a.

Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
Suspect unless there is probable cause for Me i'm talking
about me, personally for there to be some kind of
surveillance against me to use that, INFORMATION i am a
little uncomfortable with. That what do you speak to us
in terms of that.

Speaker 11 (01:16:53):
Concern, yeah, listen The Patriot act stuff is. Real THE fisa,
warrants those things freaked me out as. Well and we
need to have incredible scrutiny over. This AND i should
say this, TOO i want to have privacy rights organizations
out there poking holes in all of this and scrutinizing
the hell out of, it BECAUSE i don't take for

(01:17:13):
granted what the potential, implicant implications and ramifications for this.

Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Are it's a big.

Speaker 11 (01:17:18):
Deal but having said, that the use that they're going
to have right now is one THAT i can't see
a downside to with the information that's. Available the chief, said, hey,
look we have these, protocols these. Guidelines this information isn't
just something that we jump out into the public stream
for others to. Use we don't use it to follow people, home,
unless of, course they're fleeing a. CRIME i just don't

(01:17:39):
have the same. Concerns having said, that the reason we
push into areas like this and these pilot projects like
this is so that we can test is it, effective
is it a force? Multiplier is it a? Positive and
what are the? Downsides and can we fix the downsides
or do we have to scrap the whole. THING i
think at the end of the, Day and by the,
way one THING i found humorous About channel nine's reporting

(01:18:01):
was they were a gast the chief colleague did not
know about their reporting on flock heads. Up, man you
guys aren't number one in the market. ANYMORE i don't
know how many people watch Nine, news but it doesn't
shock me That jack or anyone else wouldn't know. That
but at the end of the, day this is a
model worth trying out and seeing whether it can be positively.

(01:18:23):
DONE i think your other point was spot, On, ryan which,
is at the end of the, day the people that
are freaked out about this aren't the people that are
afraid of big. Government those lefties are. Afraid my, god
what if they catch? Criminals what if they catch illegal?
Aliens and if you got right down to it and
you shared a hookah pipe with, them at some point
they're going to tell you at the end of the,

(01:18:43):
day we don't think it's fair that law enforcement has
the upper hand when it comes to law. Enforcement we
think we had to go back to the days where
guys have to stand on the side of the road
and by hands scribble down license plate, numbers which they
could do because everybody's in. PUBLIC i just don't see
this as being a risk not worth taking to see
where it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Goes come for the legal, analysis stay for the hookah.
Pipes George, brockler our, guests twenty Third District. Attorney, george
always great catching up with. You thanks for your input
on this, Story.

Speaker 11 (01:19:12):
Buddy thanks one more thing time right now that the
little delay WAS i had to. Park i'm right now
The International association For chiefs Of police our meeting In, denver,
huge huge organization meeting For denver this. Year chief call
he is giving a. PRESENTATION i imagine this will be
part of it at this. Thing but this is a
this is a big deal law enforcement chech is here to.

Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
Stay good to.

Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
Know might follow up with you on that outing On.
Monday have a great, Weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
George Thanks. Weddy. Bye all.

Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
Right if you have a thought or comment on what
you just, heard textas on THE Koa Common Spirit health
text line fifty six six ninety back with those and
more after this on the Ros Keminski show With Ryan
schuling filling in that song one way or. Another actually
has kind of two meetings coming out of that conversation
With George brockler twenty THIRD da and some shall we,
say diverse responses on OUR Koa Commons Spirit held text

(01:20:00):
line fifty six six Ninety Bryan schuling filling in For Ross.

Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
Kaminski it works on that level one way or.

Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
Another the eye in The Sky Alan parsons, project there's
another one there there.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
There they're going to find. You they're going to get.
You do you have something to worry? About you?

Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
KNOW i do get the struggle on the freedom versus security.
ARGUMENT i Think george does. Too but then the other
way that song, works coming back from, break one way or,
another a bear is going to track you. Down because
this texter led me down that path with this. Text
you can outrun a bear going sideways on a, hill

(01:20:37):
not up or.

Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
Down, now that caused me to look it up ON.

Speaker 4 (01:20:42):
Ai, SEE i have no reason to look look up
that information because of. THAT i can't hear tone in a,
text but he sounds like he, knows oh what he's talking.

Speaker 1 (01:20:52):
About very serious minded, texter AND i don't have any
reason to doubt. Him because here's THE, ai and this
is WHERE ai is. GOOD ai scares me a Lot
i'm that old. Guy but, anyway this is. Good, no you.

Speaker 3 (01:21:06):
Cannot out run a bear.

Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
Downhill this is a common, myth as bears are agile
and can run just as fast downhill as they can,
uphill reaching speeds of.

Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
Up to thirty five miles an. HOUR i don't think
there's AN nfl running back that can hit that top?
Speed is? There? Does Can Travis hunter run that fas?

Speaker 4 (01:21:23):
LONG i don't think?

Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
No, right But hunter was a freakish athletes h aim
and trophy winner see you buffs now with The Jacksonville.
Jaguars but, RIGHT i don't think you could run that
sustained thirty five miles an.

Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Hour that's.

Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
FAST i mean when you get your bike going that,
fast it's pretty.

Speaker 3 (01:21:38):
FAST a bear running that.

Speaker 1 (01:21:40):
Fast a mama bear after you messed with its.

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Baby.

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Bye running from a bear is never a good, idea
as it can trigger a predatory chase. Response if you
encounter a, bear remain, calm do not, run and back
away slowly while making yourself appear as large as, possible
like kind of amp your off, Up go away. Bear

(01:22:03):
that's your bear knowledge for the. Day i'm dropping a
lot of random.

Speaker 3 (01:22:06):
Things and knowledge on you.

Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
Today why, not It's. Friday It's.

Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
Friday let's go to another break when we come. Back
The president of The United states in. Quotes we'll leave
it right, There ryan schuling in For roskominski ON. Koa
President DONALD. J, trump fresh off his trip To israel

diet coke and Big max and doesn't need much. Sleep Mister,
president thank you so much for your time and congratulations

(01:22:31):
on this big peace.

Speaker 20 (01:22:32):
Agreement, well we're very happy about the peace. Agreement you
look at mccroney wasn't on, stage but we did a
great job with.

Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Him he's a great.

Speaker 20 (01:22:42):
GUY i also want to say to, You ryan THAT
i want to wish you were Happy. Columbus say you
look at. It they're trying to call It Indigenous People's.
DAY i get along very well With indigenous. People they
called Me Chief Golden. Eagle. Right it's a tremendous. Thing
but you, KNOW i want to wish a Happy Columbus
day to, everybody Including pocahontas and you Know Jiggily. BELLIPRITZ

(01:23:07):
i call Him Chief Broken. Sale he stands on the
scale and it tells, him please get. Off you're hurting.
Me please get. Off So Happy Columbus day to, everybody
and we hope everybody's having a tremendous. Day but we
love the peace. Deal it's a great peace deal in
The Middle. East nobody ever thought it, responsible and we did,
it and we're celebrating in. That we're doing very.

Speaker 1 (01:23:28):
Well Mister, president you mentioned, her SO i want to
read for you the comment That pocahontas Oh As Senator
Elizabeth warren posted On. Acts and it's peculiar to me
because we've seen several of, these including from the Former
President Barack obama talking about the peace deal it was,
struck but noticeably removing your name from any mention of.

Speaker 7 (01:23:51):
It she.

Speaker 3 (01:23:52):
Says.

Speaker 1 (01:23:52):
Quote for two excruciating, YEARS i have called for the
return of the hostages brutally kidnapped On october seventh and
held In.

Speaker 3 (01:23:59):
Gaza today is a good.

Speaker 1 (01:24:00):
Day Surviving israeli hostages are finally home and reuniting with loved.
Ones i'm thinking of them and their families on this
joyful day and praying for their full. Recovery i'm also
grieving for all those who can't come home. Today today
must also be an important step toward lasting peace in the,
region peace for Both israelis And. Palestinians we must end
the war In, gaza surge humanitarian, aid and negotiate a

(01:24:22):
two state. Solution, now how, much Mister, president Did Senator
warren's call for the return of the hostages have to
do with the deal getting?

Speaker 20 (01:24:31):
Done, WELL i had nothing to do with the, deal you,
know because she was sending her calls by a smoke
signal and nobody knows what the hell the. Njury LIKE i,
Said i'm proud to be recognized as, sheep Golden. EAGLE
i do the greatest smoke signals in the history of the,
world but nobody else really knows about. It and she
was sending them by a smoke. Signal nobody knows about,

(01:24:53):
it and nobody could read. It nobody could understand. That
but you, know she's a horrible. Person she's very, stupid
and The democrats are very. Stupid they won't say thank,
you which is, okay as long as us to just come.
Back we don't really care about. It but they're they're
behaving like childish, people really stupid. People but we're very

(01:25:13):
happy to have the hostages come, out and we're very
happy that they're reunited with a lot of their family
and we're very happy to see. Peace first and, foremost
who are happy to see.

Speaker 1 (01:25:23):
Peace we did hear this as, well Mister, president very
kind comments from The Prime minister Of, Pakistan Sabez, sharif
and he had these words for you at a.

Speaker 22 (01:25:35):
Gathering Mister, PRESIDENT i would like to salute you for
your exemplary, leadership visionally, leadership AND i think that you're
the man this world needed most at this point in.
Time world would always remember you as a man who did.

Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
To stop seven and eight.

Speaker 1 (01:26:05):
Wolves and The Prime minister Of, Pakistan Chebez sharif also
nominated you for next Year's Nobel Peace. Prize Mister, PRESIDENT
i found it a little bit alarming that you were
not mentioned more, prominently nor did you win this year's
prize that instead went.

Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
To Maria Coriina.

Speaker 1 (01:26:21):
Machado but even she mentioned you in accepting this award
in thanking you for your support against the communist dictatorship Of.
Venezuela what are your thoughts and feelings about The Nobel Peace?

Speaker 3 (01:26:35):
Prize does that mean anything to? You?

Speaker 20 (01:26:38):
WELL i should win, it and FRANKLY i should have
win it every. Year you know That i'm a TRENDOUS
guyma winner and one of the greatest. People but you
look at The Nobel prize and you look At. Maria
she did a tremendous. Job she dedicated it to. Me
she did a tremendous job BECAUSE i should have won.
It but she's doing a great job too In. Venezuela
but she KNOWS i should have won. It but the

(01:27:00):
rest of the world is very unhappy With they don'tlike.
Me they like What i'm, doing but they don't like me,
personally so they don't want to give me The Nobel.

Speaker 15 (01:27:08):
Prize so it.

Speaker 8 (01:27:10):
Would be the laugh.

Speaker 20 (01:27:11):
Again it just to stick it to those. People but
first and, foremost we're looking for. Peace but the president
Of pakistan is a great, guy AND i got on the,
phone you, know with him In india they were shooting
at each. Other we called The World war seven, eleven
which they say to, me, sir you know it's supposed
to call it, that but you, know we had to.

(01:27:32):
Say we got them on the phone and we got
it all settled in another, war and that could have
been a very nasty. War could have been a nasty,
war like if The pritzier family gets into a food
fight with The christie. Family you look at, it that's
a nasty. War but there's not a lot of throwing.
Food there's a lot of throwing food into other people's.
Mouths they're eating, it you. Know but it would have

(01:27:53):
been a nasty, war and we fixed. It BUT i
THINK i should win The nobel for. US i think
it's more than. Appropriate but we'll see what. Happens but
we want. Peace we're getting, peace and but we appreciate
The prime, minister The president Of pakistani did a tremendous.

Speaker 1 (01:28:11):
Job The president of The United, States DONALD. J, trump
joining us. Here one final, note Mister, PRESIDENT i know
your time is, short but you mentioned how people might
like the job that you're doing and what you're able
to achieve and get, done but they don't want to
give you credit and they don't like you. Personally BUT
i would contend that you are maybe turning some people
who formerly didn't like you very much into.

Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
At least respecting.

Speaker 1 (01:28:32):
You AND i wanted you to respond to this interaction
Between Bill, maher who visited The White house at the
invitation Of Kid, rock had a great. Time you signed
this list of insults that you had delivered to him
in the past with your, signature and he framed that
and Actor WILLIAM. H, macy of all, people was marveling at.

Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
This.

Speaker 1 (01:28:50):
NOW i don't know About macy's, politics but it seems
like he thought this was pretty.

Speaker 3 (01:28:54):
Cool but did he sign? There this is WHEN i
went to The White.

Speaker 6 (01:28:59):
House these are the horrible things he's called me over the.

Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Years did you give him that and he signed it for?

Speaker 7 (01:29:06):
That?

Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
Correct, oh that's fucking. BRILLIANT i know it's my it's
my prize. Possession what a. Signature that's one of the best. Signatures,
dope be, dummy trouble.

Speaker 6 (01:29:20):
That one terrible, student not considered, smart no, mojiic.

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
Terrible how did he know?

Speaker 20 (01:29:26):
That he doesn't?

Speaker 23 (01:29:27):
Him this the just this is what's so, good wet
amazing that, he at the top of his head could
come up with fifty six different different That's i'm all rights,
dummy so, cold.

Speaker 6 (01:29:42):
Comedian not a smart, guy better than, sominex fired like a,
dog dumb, ass, terrible no, moron stupid, guy bad.

Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
Rating, okay now you're just. Gloating now you're just.

Speaker 6 (01:29:57):
Just it's that's, him it's hip and it's also just
like says something about the human mind or some human.

Speaker 3 (01:30:07):
MINDS i couldn't come up with this many. Names, yes
if you gave.

Speaker 4 (01:30:11):
Me a, DAY i, mean IF i had a, Day.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
Yeah IF i had a days.

Speaker 1 (01:30:18):
Exactly Mister, President WILLIAM. H macy, says you're pretty, hip
are you?

Speaker 20 (01:30:23):
Hip, WELL i would say That I'm i'm. Everything you
look at it hip.

Speaker 11 (01:30:28):
Hop i'm.

Speaker 20 (01:30:29):
Uh you, Know i'm a tremendous.

Speaker 3 (01:30:30):
Guy i'm with.

Speaker 20 (01:30:31):
It you know that Gen z would Have aura, Right
aura For. Aura it's the greatest. Story nobody's ever seen.
It nobody's ever seen anything like. It you look at,
it but we. Have it's tremendous thing we have With Bill,
Maher william Hc bill great ky or it could be

(01:30:52):
a great guy if he wants to be a great.
Guy both of those, Guys Bill maher And Bill macy
could be great. Guys but we'll see what. Happens but
we have a tremendous relationship with a lot of, people
and there's a lot of other people who want that,
relationship and so they may get, it they may not get.
It but if they're nice and they want to Make

(01:31:13):
america great, again.

Speaker 11 (01:31:14):
We can be very good.

Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
FRIENDS i can tell, you mister, president final thought along those.
Lines Bill maher has been able to rebuild a bridge with,
you AND i thought that would have been pretty unheard
of just within the last couple of. Years is there
any hope For rosie o'donnelld to do that with?

Speaker 20 (01:31:29):
You, well you look At rosio. O'donald if she builds a,
bridge in a minute she steps on the, bridge it's
coming grassing. Down that's What london. Happened you, Know London
bridge came falling down Because rosie, o'donnald who's not a fair,
lady took a step on it and took the entire bridge.
Down so she wants to build a, bridge are destroy

(01:31:49):
it when she tries to cross. It she's got a
lot of, problems a lot of mental, problems a lot
of physical, problems just a lot of problems in, general
including if she us to come back to The United
states with tariffinger five thousand percent for, pared which is
a lot of thousands a, lot And irelanders are what
that to. Happen so if she wants to build a,

(01:32:11):
bridge she's not going to be able to do that
because a bridge will not support that horrible. Person you
look at. Us she's a horrible person and she would
take it right, down just Like London, bridge and we
don't want that to.

Speaker 1 (01:32:22):
Happen, Well rosie O'Donnell may have a lot of problems
with the, world has one less problem and a big
one solved by The president of The United states in
this peace deals struck In gaza As hamas releases the
twenty living hostages And israel pulls back from the territory Within,
gaza the first steps toward peace And President DONALD.

Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
J trump largely responsible for.

Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
That, sir thank you for all you're doing for our,
country for the, world and for joining us here.

Speaker 3 (01:32:49):
Today, well thank.

Speaker 20 (01:32:51):
You so much of the world still has one other,
problem and it said you keep trying to quit your day.
Job don't try to quit your day. Job you do
a fantastic job as it. Is god bless, you all.

Speaker 1 (01:33:00):
Right The president of The United states right, There DONALD.
J trump asked portrayed By Sean ferish and you can
follow him on x At sean that's shaw N Underscore.
Farrish he hosts The ungoverned podcast and.

Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
Always a good.

Speaker 1 (01:33:15):
Time that from earlier in the, WEEK i thought you
might find that entertaining as we head into our. Weekend,
Here Sean ferish is the. BEST i, mean he nails
The Donald trump presentation of the, accent the, references the,
pauses and some of the. Insults Like Bill meher was pointing,
out it's hard to determine for me Where President trump

(01:33:35):
ends and Where Sean ferrish, begins because you could Imagine
President trump kind of tongue in cheek but kind of
not talking About rosie o'donald not being able to build
a bridge because it would, break and the weight under
her and do.

Speaker 4 (01:33:51):
You judge of this tariffs it's in five thousand dollars
per pound and that's a lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:33:55):
Poundage it's more pounds than anybody's ever. Seen there the
little catchphrases that the actual president uses And shawn just
he picks up on.

Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
Them he nails.

Speaker 1 (01:34:05):
Them and one of the inherent built in advantages That
sean has is he is From Long, island as Is Donald.
Trump so that, dialect just the, accents the starting point
of the impression tot not chef's kiss right there From Sean.
Ferish let's get some text here on THE Koa Common
spirit health text. Line we are sprinting toward the. Finish

(01:34:28):
here on The Roskaminski, Show Ryan shuling filling. In thanks
for being alongside with us and sending you into your.

Speaker 3 (01:34:34):
Weekend it's five o'clock. Somewhere crack open a cold. One let's.

Speaker 1 (01:34:37):
Go if we're going all random, today says this texter
speaking Of Travis. Hunter he was my fave AT, CEU
a true. BEAST i feel dirty IF i root For
jacksonville because Of. Hunter what's a good? Workaround thank god
he didn't go to anyone in the. DIVISION i think
you're fine rooting For jacksonville unless it conflicts with The
Denver broncos interests here In. COLORADO a lot easier for

(01:34:59):
me because my dream scenario is At Denver Broncos Detroit
Lions Super.

Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
Bowl that would be The Me, bowl and you KNOW
i would win either.

Speaker 1 (01:35:07):
Way The lions have never won, It they've never even been,
there and they're one of the OG nfl franchises from
nineteen thirty. Five, okay it's been a hard life as
A lions. FAN i know first world. PROBLEMS i get
all THAT i put into. Perspective it's just football is
just a.

Speaker 4 (01:35:23):
Game, Hey but you guys got that in sixteen, season
so that was.

Speaker 3 (01:35:26):
Fun you had to bring that, up of COURSE i.
Did do you know what The lions record was last,
year fifteen and. Two good for.

Speaker 1 (01:35:32):
This they've already lost as many games this year as
they did all of last, year and they lost the
first playoff game last year In detroit against The washington
formerly known As. Redskins that's another. Thing i'm not doing that.
Anymore you, KNOW i wanted one button one. Time you,
Know Dave, logan you don't have. TO i don't know
That Dave logan should BECAUSE i was willing.

Speaker 3 (01:35:53):
To, Oh, REDSKINS i get. It maybe.

Speaker 1 (01:35:56):
Not then they had to go in and they you,
know before, that they took The East Michigan hurons very
offensive to pay tribute to The huron tribe At Eastern.

Speaker 3 (01:36:05):
Michigan then you have other tribes like The.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
Chippewa indian tribe In michigan that's closely affiliated With mi alma,
Mater Central Michigan. University they teach the language there as
a Course. Ojibwa. Ah The french came in and they
frenched up the. NAME i went From ojibwa To. Chippewa
that's why it's called. That but all that being, said

(01:36:29):
the tribe loves the. University they work hand in glove
on a lot of, things and they promote the culture
and the history of The Saganaw Chippewa indian, tribe and
it keeps it. Alive The Seminole Tribe, Tallahassee Florida, state
they go even.

Speaker 3 (01:36:43):
Further see At.

Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
Central michigan there's no More Native american references really. Anywhere
i'm talking about the presentation war paint, Arrows Native american mascot.
Itself it's all been kind of washed out of. That
their colors are maroon and, gold and that's. It there's
not a lot Of in terms of the sports. References
At Florida, state they've got A Native american in a

(01:37:08):
full headdress with a flaming spear throwing it into the.
Ground AND i gotta tell, you The seminole tribe loves,
it loves, it embraces it once more.

Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
Of it can't get. Enough so if they're not, offended
why would we be offended for?

Speaker 1 (01:37:25):
Them that's WHY i never understood about, liberals like it's
not your job to go around being offended for everybody.
Else that is. Ridiculous so don't do. It that was
all down THE nfl pipeline. There why Don't this is
a great point by this, texture based on the conversation
we had With George. Bronckler why shouldn't private citizens have

(01:37:46):
access to flock cameras like a. WEBSITE i think that'd be,
phenomenal a great idea for, transparency for full, disclosure, Like,
hey that's what we, got you, know that's what you're.

Speaker 4 (01:37:57):
Up, against is what we know something similar to do?

Speaker 3 (01:37:59):
Better.

Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
CORRECT i think that makes me feel a little bit
more comfortable with, it BECAUSE i don't apply the slippery
slope fallacy to, everything BUT i get where it's coming from,
here and a lot of You texters agree with me
on it that you know you start it all starts
with The Patriot, act and what we thought was something
devised with good intentions turned out to be manipulated by

(01:38:22):
the government for nefarious, purposes at least as far.

Speaker 3 (01:38:25):
AS i see. It AND i want to err on
the side of.

Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
CAUTION i want to hear on the side of personal
freedom and, liberty and when you encroach upon that with Big,
brother that's a big. Problem the fastest human twenty seven
points seven miles per.

Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
Hour got a few of these From ralph And Black.
Forest he.

Speaker 1 (01:38:45):
Says the fastest recorded speed was that twenty seven point
seven eight miles per hour achieved By Usain bolt during
one hundred meters.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
Sprint that is flying. Average go.

Speaker 4 (01:38:54):

up very, bold very audacious, squirrel and he was just
standing there and he went up on his hind legs

(01:39:37):

chip directly into his little mitst little.

Speaker 1 (01:39:42):

Speaker 24 (01:40:53):
There have been a lot of big issues In denver
with school safety and creating academics and transparency. Failures are
superintendent and an attorney for the district that are among
the worst you could, imagine and then school board members
that are, terrible Like Scott asserman And michelle Quad obaum.

Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
Who are running for. Reelection but they're so bad that
the Teachers.

were THE ta three to. Loose are the trying to? Lose,
WELL i, MEAN i think they're probably gonna, lose but
you never, Know you never know what will. Happen the
union is backing opponents of, theirs and there's other candidates
in those. Races but The Teachers', union even the candidates.

Speaker 3 (01:41:50):
That they are. Backing four years, ago.

Speaker 24 (01:41:54):
When esserman and Quad olebaum and another one soci Guy
time were elected the first, time they spent two hundred
and forty two thousand dollars on Their union back candidates.
Total this year forty eight thousand total on Their union back.
