Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, ripped up.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
News, so you don't have come running just as nas
as we can.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Shooter's gonna help come.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Dix is the Troubleshooter Show. No Tom Martino, Hello.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Tom Martino Here, let's kick off the week, a beautiful
summer week in Colorado and for those listening around the country,
welcome to the show. We originate from Denver, Colorado, as
we have for forty five years, also on the iHeartRadio
app and some well selected radio sisters and brothers affiliates

(00:49):
we call them, and what we.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Like to do is solve problems.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
You know.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
But what I realized is this is a this is
a joint effort.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
We have people from all over and when they call
with a problem, they actually help us help others, even
though in some cases we may not be able to
help the caller. But over the years we've been able
to help to the tune of over three four hundred million,
well not three or four, about three fifty, three hundred

(01:20):
and fifty million dollars in cash, merchandise, exchanges, refunds and services.
And that's really what we do. We solve problems. This
hour brought to you by Axcel Roofing. I have my
friend Henry with me who took over for his dad Jay. Now,
is some wrong with this picture? When I met Jay.
Shortly after I met Jay, his wife got pregnant and

(01:44):
we had kids almost together, I mean weeks apart or
months apart. And now I'm here doing my show and
Jay has taken it easy and his son has taken over.
To's some wrong with that picture. I think Tom's going
to have to start, you know, maybe doing something that'll

(02:06):
help me retire. Right. Come on, I'm seventy one years
old at cancer survivor right now. I say right now,
because we of course hope to keep it that way.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
I'll take over when you retire, Tom, what's that I'll
take over when you retire.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Okay, good?

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Then then okay we can just have or or we
can just put the show in the crapper right in
the beginning.

Speaker 7 (02:29):
I'm just kidding, Hey, Tom, I have a great follow up.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
There's only one person, honest to God, in all these years,
I've only found one person who truly I feel I mean,
he can do it. I mean truly, I mean necessrely,
I mean, and I've tried all kinds of personalities. I've
tried all kinds of people. But anyway, I love my
deputies as well. That was Deputy Doc. We hear is

(02:54):
the camera up in the studio? It's not mandatory. If
it isn't, I don't care.

Speaker 7 (02:57):
Oh, Kelly wouldn't do it only for me? I'm too ugly.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Okay, Oh you're the only one there. Okay, I agree,
we don't need a camera for you. So what did
you want to talk about?

Speaker 7 (03:06):
Last week?

Speaker 6 (03:08):
Somebody called up and was having a problem with ALI
on insurance.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
I forget who it was.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
I believe it is called Alians, like Alliance, I think,
but anyway, it's it.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
So the reason she couldn't get I went over there
on Friday.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
What was her problem?

Speaker 7 (03:31):
She couldn't get in touch with them. I think that
was the issue.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Well, I have a giant annuity with them and I
get a statement all the time. They're pretty good. So
what's going on?

Speaker 6 (03:41):
To their office in Greenwood Plaza and the office was
empty and there was a padlock.

Speaker 7 (03:47):
On the door.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Oh my god, wait, are we talking about to spell.

Speaker 7 (03:52):
The name alian a L L I A N T.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Oh. Then that's not it. That's not the one I'm
talking about. I was talking about one that's way more so, anyway,
what did she invest with this company?

Speaker 7 (04:05):
I like the marked up.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
The call, and I said I would go over there
and see and see if I could talk to them
in person.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
And well, I can say when I got.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
There, what do you do you recall what was her
first name?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Let me look up the call here?

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Walked marked up the call?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
All right, so you just went over to see if
they were open or not? Okay, anyway, we're you know, listen,
obviously we want to be we want to be careful
when we invest with people. I was it an investment
or do you even know? Doc? Do you know anything
about the call or just that their call?

Speaker 6 (04:37):
I just I just thought I would go over there
because it's on my way home.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Okay, thanks, Hey, let me let me ask Kachina Caloria
Katchina and it's a nickname I give her. Do you
recall with that? Do you recall what that was about
that call?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
I was just on the phone.

Speaker 8 (04:53):
I'm so sorry, can you Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:57):
It was Ali Ali?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
He said Alliant Insurance or something or Alliant anyway, he
said that they're closed up, but somebody had called about him.
Maybe we can find out for Marcus, who's I'm trying
to look up the call here anyway.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Welcome folks, what we did, this is what we do here.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
We do problems, questions and complaints, and truly it's the
only place really to get free help for problems like this.
No one else is going to hold your hand. Now
I know through the years, my god, do I know,
I was one of the first ones in the country
doing this. You know, there have been all kinds of
people in media doing the doing the same thing or

(05:37):
attempting to do the same thing, And I welcome them.
I love them. They give themselves all kinds of names,
you know, just like I did. And the more the
bett in, the merrier. If anyone knows about this, Alian
give us a call, and I want to get the
details of the original call. Three Zho three's. But there
was a padlocking on the door. Was there a sign
on the doortock?

Speaker 7 (05:57):
It was just a deserted and a pad lit on
the door.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Man. Padlocks denote something forced and something forced on them, because.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Otherwise they would just lock the door.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
But when they want to keep the owners out or
they want to shut a business down, like for taxes
and stuff, they use padlocks because then they can't get
management to open it. This sounds serious to me. Christy
is on the line. She wants to talk about a
moving companies or a moving problem. Again, if you've listened

(06:32):
to the show over the years, I'm going to tell
you that there's probably a ninety eight percent chance when
you go online to pick.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
A mover, you will be ripped off.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Moving companies have a regular way of doing things that
I'm going to go over, but they will rip you
off ninety eight percent of the time because ninety eight
percent of the time you're not dealing with a moving company.
You're dealing with a person, and then that person deals
with another and another and another.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
I'll go over that in a minute.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Let's just ask Christy what the problem is, Christy? What's
going on with you? Christy?

Speaker 9 (07:10):
Okay, So I went online to find, you know, information
on moving companies, got uh pupped up with this safe
ship moving.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
What is it called? What is it called?

Speaker 9 (07:29):
Safe ship?

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Can you spell that for me? Shafe?

Speaker 10 (07:34):
Just spell it for me F A F E faith
like in.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
F like like foxtrot.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
Correct, Oh, safe? Got it? Okay, Well it's a little
hard to hear. Okay.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
So so anyway, what happened then Christy with this with
this safe movie company.

Speaker 9 (07:55):
So I asked them about, you know, trying to get
an estimate and that kind of stuff, high pressure sale.
I said, I need to look over this information. No,
you have to make a decision right now. It's going
to cost this amount you have to pay.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Well, the red slag should have the red slag should
have been flying.

Speaker 9 (08:15):
Okay, fine, I made a mistake.

Speaker 10 (08:18):
I realized.

Speaker 9 (08:19):
I get down on Saturday evening. I talked to a
friend in Denver. She gave me your information, got it,
talk about it?

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Okay, So let me let me ask you what form?
What form did this business take? This business transaction? Did
you send any form of payment?

Speaker 10 (08:39):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (08:40):
What did you pay.

Speaker 9 (08:45):
Five seventy three dollars on my Capital one visa? I've
already contacted Capital one to let them know that I
have requested termination of the contract.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Okay, what when wrong? Tell me?

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Okay, so you called this company and you hired them,
and you put five thousand on your Capital one. Tell
me how the conversation went with them. I'm just curious
how you go from a conversation to being pressured into
paying five grand. And by the way, Christy, I'm not
trying to make you feel bad. You already said you
made a mistake. I understand that, but I really want

(09:21):
to drive this home for people listening. So how did
it go from a conversation about moving to a five
thousand dollars payment?

Speaker 5 (09:28):
What happened in between?

Speaker 9 (09:31):
Okay, so they're talking about how their veteran owned and operated.
They give me a discount because I have a son
in the maybe and I had a son in the marine,
and they would give me a senior discount. Blah blah blah.
They're taking all this money off and they guarantee that

(09:54):
they will match.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Okay, Hey, Christy, you said something can't be said on
the radio, so we had to bleep it out, So
just really try not.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
To do that. Okay.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
So what you did was you they made all kinds
of promises, You're getting all kinds of discounts, and you
felt high pressured. Didn't a little voice tell you don't
pay five grand? Or did you think, well, A, it's
a on a credit card, so I can always reverse
it if I need to. Is that what you were thinking?

Speaker 9 (10:29):
No, I'm stupid. I think people are honest and I
should know better.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
All right, hold on it and come back to you.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Let's find out what happened in this nightmare. This is
the moving season.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
A lot of people move, so she dealt with.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Safe as in you know it's safe, safe ship moving company.
We're going to find out what happened right after this,
go with a sure thing Denver's Best roofer Excel Roofing

Speaker 5 (11:02):
You don't pay a cent until you're content.

Speaker 4 (11:08):

(11:32):
to the show. A programming note, I had to restart
the stream on YouTube. Sorry. Every once in a while
that happens. So my YouTube morons don't give me any crap.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
That's just the way life is.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Sometimes things like this happen, and Shannon, I'll tell you
with a warming regularity. Yea ay con now welcome, Okay,
so Listen, I want to go over in general, how
moving companies work. About ninety five percent of them. Okay,
I want to go over it. The initial call you

(12:06):
make based on the Internet is not usually a company,
it's a person. But even if it is a company
doesn't matter. Here's what happens. The initial call you make
is to try to get money from you and lock
in a contract. That's the last time you're going to
deal with these people. All they are are aggregators. Listen carefully,

(12:28):
I'm telling you based on experience. Now you call, they say, yes,
we're safe ship, we do this, this, this and this,
and then they get you to sign a contract or
they don't care if you sign it or not to
agree to a contract and pay money down. Once you
pay that money down, that money is for nothing, absolutely nothing.

(12:50):
It will go towards nothing in your move. That person
has just profited from that amount of money.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
That's what they get.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Now they go out and find someone to take over
your contract and they say, hey, I have a five
thousand dollars contract here. It's going to be a total
of ten or whatever it is. Christy, what did they say?
Your total contract would be.

Speaker 11 (13:16):
Eleven thousand and five hundred okay.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
So they say to these people, I got a contract
here that you can buy from me, and it's going
to pay another five grand okay, or excuse me, another
seven grand. So they might get one thousand dollars from
someone who buys that contract. Then Christy will be contacted

(13:41):
by this second person who who says they're with safe Ship,
but they're not. So they all give the illusion with
a company and what happens is and this is for everyone,
not just Christy.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
So now the second shipper is involved.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
That second shipper's job is to pick up your stuff
and to hammer you for more money. They usually say
he made a mistake. This is more than we thought.
You have to pay more money. Then they get more money.
Then they hand it off to a third company who
does the delivery screw job. The delivery screw job is

(14:20):
where they contact you and say, you know, we're going
to deliver your stuff, but then they hold yourself a
stuff hostage until you.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
Pay another ungodly amount of money.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
So whatever the initial contract was, it doesn't matter. Each
one of these pegs. What they do is they increase
the contract and get you to pay money out of
scare tactics. That's the way they work. Then if you
get your stuff, if you do fine, Many times you

(14:50):
don't get your stuff, but you paid all this money. Now,
just so you know, there is no government agency that
will do anything about it. They regular but they do
nothing about it. There is no enforcement for bad movers.
It is a license to steal and no one does anything.
It would be up to you to take private courses

(15:12):
of action with lawsuits and stuff, but it almost never
happens and is never worth it because ultimately your stuff
has a finite value. And I've always told people, if
you're going to go online and find a mover, there's
about a ninety five to ninety eight percent chance you
will be ripped off. It's not maybe you will be

(15:34):
ripped off. Now what raises those those consequences? And again
I'm going to buy statistics and I you know, you
can send me all the hate email you want saying
I'm a hater and I'm not.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
It's usually a mover in Florida.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Usually usually, and what I have found in about seventy
five percent of those moving companies, they're owned by Israelis
who come here and establish a company in Florida. Now,
am I saying Israelis or bad people? No, I'm not.
I love Israelis, I love Jews. I love all kinds
of people. Everywhere in the world. There are different people,

(16:13):
but it just so happens in the moving business in
Florida about seventy five percent of them turn out to
be Israeli. Now, Christy, this is a company in Florida
you found online and they took your first payment. Where
do we stand now? What made you think it was
a ripoff? Tell me what gave you? What gave you
the reason to want to reverse your charge?

Speaker 11 (16:36):
Because I spoke to a friend that lives in Denver
that listens to your show told me that more than
likely it was a scam. And so they had told
me that it was a seventy two hour cancelation, And
so I sent a cancelation in writing immediate late this morning,

(17:02):
and also contacted Capital One to let them know what
had happened and that the charge is pending. And they said, yes,
we've dealt with this quite a bit, you know, we're
familiar with.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
How good did they.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Say they would reverse that? Did they say they would
reverse that charge for you?

Speaker 11 (17:26):
Capital One always has my bank. They are absolutely outstanding.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
They always I would get I would get that thing canceled.
Did you sign anything online? Yes?

Speaker 5 (17:40):
What did you sign a contract for moving?

Speaker 11 (17:45):
I signed a contract.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I signed Chris, Shannon, you got to do that again.
You got to do it again, Shannon put her on hold.
Let's just see what we can do about this. I
want somebody to call down to that company. I think
she's doing the right thing. I think she saved yourself
with Capital one. But still, folks, even with a credit card,
don't pay upfront ever to a mover ever, ever, ever, ever.

Speaker 8 (18:11):
And it's the same thing with these truck companies and
shipping vehicles.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
You can never get a hold of the direct shipper.

Speaker 8 (18:18):
It's always one of those lead generation companies or something
like that. And then all of a sudden, have you
done that with a vehicle so many times?

Speaker 4 (18:25):
And you contact someone, they're just a broker exactly.

Speaker 8 (18:28):
And that's that's why I try to always make the
dealership do it, because they know the trucking company.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
They they deal with them all the time. Right. If
you're dealing with a car, it's much the same, though.
You get a broker. The broker sells the contract, the
contracts sold. Usually the contract is sold twice. The initial
guy sells it to another guy. Another guy sells it
to the delivery guy. And the job of each one
of them is to extort money from you.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Always gets more expensive every single time.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Yeah, and it will, and they will hold your stuff hostage.
But I think Christy, let's bring her back up. Christy.
I am with you on you being upset. I understand,
and why you let the the crap word. The other
words were craps slip twice, here's the deal. You are

(19:17):
doing the right thing. I would stay on top of
capital one, but I wouldn't give them the benefit of
the doubt. I would just say it was a scam.
They have nothing. I wouldn't say anything except it's a
scam and if you have to re issue your card,
get your card reissued. But it is a scam, scam,

(19:41):
and I thank god that your friends in Denver told
you about it. Where were you moving from? Where to where?

Speaker 12 (19:51):
From?

Speaker 11 (19:53):
Arkansas? Northwest Arkansas? Support Collins.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
Oh really, so you're what are you Florida?

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Then?

Speaker 5 (20:00):
What's that it was a shipping company in Florida?

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Unless she went online and found it. Most of the
Terrible Movers are from Florida. Most of them are a
few of them are in Nevada and uh but Florida
is the number one state for moving ripoffs. Christy, I
want you to stay in touch with us each I'm
marking this pending so I can keep track of it

(20:25):
for you, and I think you're doing the right thing,
Thank goodness.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
That's Christy.

Speaker 4 (20:32):

may ask, now, so Tom, what do I do? How

Did he drop off? Okay?

Speaker 4 (22:30):
He wanted to give kudos to Frank Duran, the real
estate Man, and god knows, there's a lot to give
kudos about people who use Frank Durant just absolutely love him.
They absolutely love him because he does so much without
any obligation up front free. Like if you call Frank
and say, Frank, I'm thinking about listing, you know you're

(22:53):
not going to get slammed into trying to list it.
And he doesn't give you an unrealistic price to get
you on contract and then hammer you down.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
A lot of real state people do that.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
He doesn't just put up what I call listing whoores
where they put signs in yards and let everyone else
do the work and then he just collects the commission
for having a yard sign.

Now we have a lot happening right off the bat
talking about moving, and this is the moving business.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
So moving is really really a ripoff.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
I mean more, it's one of the few industries where
when you embark upon a moving journey, golf than not. Now,
there aren't many industries like that. There are industries that
have a lot of bad people in them.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
But in the moving.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Business, there's more more chance of getting ripped off than not.
Think about that, more chance of getting ripped off than not.
And I promise I would tell you how to select
a moving company. And I'm writing a note because I
will do it. But I want to go to Dan
because my callers get priority.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
So Dan, what's going on with you?

Speaker 4 (24:19):
Dan?

Speaker 13 (24:23):
I outline that on the email I sent you, I
subscribed to YouTube TV back in April. They charged my
credit card twice, and they charge my credit card twice
every month since then.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
And how much is that? How much?

Speaker 5 (24:40):
How much is the double charge?

Speaker 4 (24:42):
How much is each charge?

Speaker 13 (24:45):
Eighty eight dollars and sixty cents per charge each?

Speaker 4 (24:49):
Oh my god? And is there anyone to call or
to talk to.

Speaker 13 (24:54):
I have found no number where you could talk to
a person. The only thing is to do it online.
And when I get online, none of their prompts match
my need and then I just run into a dead end.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Oh my god. I you know what these the new
you know, the new age, the computer age. They don't
believe in phone support. Very few companies do. Amazon still
does phone support, Google does phone support.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Some of the elite and best ones do.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
But you won't find phone support for eBay, you won't
find phone support for Facebook. And you're telling me YouTube
TV no phone support. So is there anywhere I mean,
there must be a place for billing disputes or something
you can go in and say I'm being double charged,
or why don't you just cancel the whole thing and

(25:51):
then restart it.

Speaker 13 (25:52):
Well, I just receive I just received an email from
them yesterday. They're trying to charge my credit card again.
But my credit card couple is now blocking them, so
it would probably get canceled.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Now no, no, I don't mean probably. I want you to
intentionally cancel it. Don't let it just go into default.
Cancel it and then what then you resubscribe?

Speaker 13 (26:20):
But how do I get my roughly one hundred and
seventy dollars a month?

Speaker 4 (26:24):
Now, Here's what I'm thinking, Dan, Here's what I'm thinking.
Here's what I would do if I were you, I
would go and cancel it. I would reopen another account,
and if I had to, I would use another email
and I would reopen an account.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
That's what I would do.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Then, for the money that you were owed, I would
get copies of the bills and all that, and I would,
I swear to God, I would take in the small
claims court because you even though they're bigger, they're bad
in their YouTube, they still have to answer. I would.
I mean, I don't know what else to tell you,

(27:02):
but I would. I would find their registered agent, serve
them and take them to small claims court. And you
really they the one to seventy seven is for the overcharges,
not for all of the charges. Right?

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Can I suggest something? Tom?

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Go ahead, die, Alex.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
Do you have the option of paying by check as
opposed to direct deposit?

Speaker 13 (27:31):
Are you talking to me?

Speaker 7 (27:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (27:33):
Yeah, So if you if you were to go on
the site and instead of giving you a credit card,
just say you want to pay by check.

Speaker 7 (27:40):
When they send you a bill in the mail, then
there'll be billing.

Speaker 6 (27:44):
Information on it that you can either call or write
to them.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
Well, I don't even know if they if they even
have that available. I don't think they send out I
don't think they send out paper bills.

Speaker 7 (27:55):
I'm just asking. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I don't know, doc.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
That is truly, I mean not to insult your anything,
but that's antiquated. No one sends out hardly anyone sends
out paper bills.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
Get a lot of paper bills, Tom.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
You won't from anybody big like YouTube.

Speaker 7 (28:12):
Well, I don't know. I'm just asking if it was possible, that's.

Speaker 13 (28:15):
All I'm asking, Avenue, but no.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
That's what I would do otherwise. I don't know if
we have a number to get through. But let me
just explain.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Okay, I just looked it up.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
YouTube TV on their website does not offer mail billing
or paper invoices of any kind. Everything is hand to
handle digitally. Billing is automatically charged to the payment method
linked listen to this linked to your Google account, so
it is the payment in your wallet.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Do you have other Google things.

Speaker 13 (28:59):
Off hand? I can't of what they would need.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Okay, Well, they would be enterprise email, like if you
had an email address with Gmail, not the Gmail account
like John Smith at Gmail, but like my troubleshooter.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
Dot com account.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Even though it says troubleshooter dot com it's registered, it's Gmail.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
I use Gmail as the provider.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
So if you have other things with them, you got
to cancel payment in your wallet for anything you do
with Gmail. Excuse me with Google, and then restart a
new credit card and then go back and then try
to recover the money. But no matter what, that'll stop
it right away. And that's what I would do. As

(29:45):
far as small claims court, I do believe they have
a registered agent in Denver or in Colorado and a
lot of people, you know, Mark taught me this. A
lot of people think us, you useless. I'll never bring
these people to court. You're right, they'll never show up,
but they will take care of it beforehand. They don't

(31:31):
Martino here at three O three seven to one three
talks seven one three two five to five. All right, listen.
Selecting a mover, let's go over that first and foremost.
You must select a company on the national level and
only use those who are national transporters. That means North

(31:53):
American van Lines, Global or one of those. Okay, whatever
it is. You want a national van line that has
been around and not an agent. You want to talk
to a national van line and you want to get
recommendations from them from dependable agents. Now most van lines

(32:19):
will control their agents. Okay, so you'll find good recommendations
from the national van lines. Then you deal with a
local agent where you're located or going. It doesn't matter
where they're located if they're close to you, well it does.
Mainly you deal with the one close to the pickup

(32:41):
and then they deal with getting it to the destination.
But remember national van lines. That means van lines that
run trucks under their banners. And this is a must.
Listen carefully when you talk to an agent. You want
to make sure they're really a mover. Do not ever

(33:03):
talk to a broker. Now, if you ask them straight
up or you're a broker, they're going to dance around it.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
They're never going to tell you.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
But what you want is someone who owns their own trucks,
has their own offices and warehouses and storage facilities. You
do not want, ever, ever in a million years, to
deal with a broker. All a broker does is takes
a fee and moves on. Okay, they do nothing for you.
What did you want to say, Henry, Yes.

Speaker 8 (33:31):
So, Tom, how would you recommend that people can identify
a real moving company versus a broker?

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Well, okay, first and foremost, they have a national affiliation.
I don't mean with national vanlizes, but that's a good one,
or North American or whatever or global or whatever, a mayflower.
You pick one that has an actual agent affiliation, and
you verify that affiliation with the national agent. Say is

(33:57):
this your agent in Denver? Is this is your agent
in wherever you're going? Okay? Now you then talk to
the agent and you want to know do they own
their own trucks, do they have a warehouse? Where's their location?
What is their address? If they're not totally transparent with

(34:17):
all of that, you can even ask, for goodness sakes,
for a license plate number of one of their main
vans and verify. You have to do homework. You cannot
just call someone on the internet. Ninety five percent of
the time you're going to get a broker. Ninety five
percent of the time a broker will rip you off.
If a moving company is located in Florida, do not

(34:39):
use them ever, Sorry, never use a moving company located
in Florida.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
So these are tips.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
To get you really on the road. The other thing
I want to tell you this is important. Never do
an estimate, do a guaranteed not to exceed contract. That's
called the guaranteed not to exceed contract. I'm Tom Martine.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Tom Martino here at three oh three seven one three
talk seven one three A two five five. Hey, what's
going on in your life? I love this show because
we talk about life. We talk about things near and
dear to your heart and pocketbook Henry Bretz is with
me from Excel Roofing, and we will talk about roofing
a little again. This is in Colorado, such a hot topic,

(36:33):
so we'll talk about that in more. And we talked
about movers, and I urge you to go back and
review the last part of the hour of the first
Hour today where we talked about selecting roofers. I also
have other posts that I've done on selecting roofers. And
I've been trying to post a lot of shorter, really

(36:54):
quick tips online recently, and I hope you're you're tuning in.
I know a lot of people are, and I try
to confine it to consumer tips under two minutes. But
it's really important because there are so many things right now.

(37:14):
And I just realized that kids know nothing. They don't
learn anything in school. They don't know much of anything.
It's sad, it really is sad, and so they end
up making so many mistakes. And I am working on
a program to help kids in schools. I just want
you to know that because I think schools are sadly

(37:37):
deficient when it comes to everyday life.

Speaker 5 (37:39):
Let's go to Kevin.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
He has an issue with a car purchase Hi, Kevin.
I'm Tom Martine. What's going on with you? Hi?

Speaker 10 (37:52):
Just a quick question. I'm looking. I'm having a problem
with Ford. I P twenty two Ford F one fifty
platinum back.

Speaker 5 (38:03):
Did you buy it?

Speaker 10 (38:04):
News?

Speaker 4 (38:05):
Okay, you bought it new, a new twenty twenty two.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
And which model.

Speaker 10 (38:10):
The F one fifty platinum.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
Nice nice truck, brother.

Speaker 10 (38:16):
Yeah, it's just very nice. I love the truck. I
don't have any problems with it. What my issue is
is with that truck came what's called Blue Cruise, which
is their self driving mode. Yeah, and a couple of
months ago I started receiving email saying that, you know,

(38:36):
my Connected services, my Connected Navigation would be expiring, and
then also my Blue Crews would be expiring.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
Now, how are you saying that? Is it called bluekers?
I mean expel that for me?

Speaker 10 (38:51):
Blue b l U E crew c r UI s
E got it.

Speaker 4 (38:59):
Yep, your Blue Cruise is expiring. So it's on a
prescription basis obviously.

Speaker 10 (39:05):
Yep, three years.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Yes.

Speaker 10 (39:07):
Well, on my Maroney sticker, the Blue Cruise is listed
under the package seven seven oh one A, and it's
on my my window sticker. It doesn't say anything about subscription.
Now the Connected Navigation does it says a three year

(39:30):
free you know, trial period, but not the Blue crews.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
So I called now the Blue the Blue Cruise, the
Blue Crewise you're talking about, and the other one. They
both work in concert with each other. Is that correct?

Speaker 2 (39:47):
No?

Speaker 10 (39:47):
Not really? There separate year nuts.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
Tell me, okay, tell me how they're separate. That's what
I have to understand. How are they separate?

Speaker 10 (39:56):
Well, the the navigation system, the Connected Navigation gives your
traffic updates and it'll reroute you if.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
Which one which one is? Okay?

Speaker 4 (40:07):
Which one is the navigation Blue Cruise?

Speaker 10 (40:11):
No, that is the Connected Navigation. Okay, that's okay, Connected navigation, So.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
That's Blue Cruise is your navigation.

Speaker 10 (40:21):
No, the Blue Cruise is completely okay.

Speaker 5 (40:25):
I just asked you that question. What is Blue Cruise?

Speaker 4 (40:30):
What is it?

Speaker 10 (40:32):
Blue Cruise is the self driving mode?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
Okay? Got it? Got it?

Speaker 10 (40:36):
Highways yep.

Speaker 5 (40:38):
So you have two things.

Speaker 4 (40:39):
You have navigation and you have self driving, and one
of them you knew was on a three year and
the navigation is expiring, and so is the Blue Cruise.
But you were under the impression that Blue Cruise should
still continue exactly and it should now. Now, did you
talk to the dealer Becase, because Blue Cruise is nothing

(41:01):
more than their name for their for their cruise control.
You know a lot of people now have smart smooth
cruise controls, and what they do is they keep distance
from the car in front of you. They slow down,
they speed up, they stop, they go. They're not self driving.
It's a cruise control and usually that is not on
a subscription basis.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
So I think what they mean.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
I think that Blue Cruise is expiring as far as
the navigation part of it. But I don't think that
your car. I think your car or your truck will
still have its cruise control.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
Isn't that what you understand?

Speaker 10 (41:41):
Well, yes, and though yes, it will still have the
A lot of people call it adaptive cruise control.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
That'll exactly, that's what it is. That's what it is now.

Speaker 10 (41:53):
Correct Now, Blue Cruise is over and above that it is.
It is Board's version of the self driving I can
I can set it as long as I'm on a
divided highway, I can set the blue turn the blue
crews on, and I can let go of the steering
wheel it and it does and it drives itself. You

(42:13):
know it'll, yeah, it turns, it does everything in between
the lanes.

Speaker 5 (42:19):
Okay, so what is your issue.

Speaker 10 (42:20):
The cruise control?

Speaker 5 (42:22):
No, I get it.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
What is what is your issue as far right now
as your cruise control? And what do they call your
cruise control? What do they call it?

Speaker 10 (42:31):
It's just called cruise control?

Speaker 4 (42:33):
My okay?

Speaker 10 (42:34):
Is Blue Cruise was included in the package that I've
purchased as a one time fee. Now, when I called
Forward and I asked them, why is this expiring? They said, well,
you know, and they pulled up my windows sticker online
says yeah, we can see that it's included with your package.

(42:55):
But it's a subscription service. And they say, we've correct
that problem on more recent vehicles.

Speaker 4 (43:03):
Well they got to correct it on yours. They got
to create okay, So so which one is expired? The
navigation part is expiring, right, yeah?

Speaker 10 (43:13):
And that one I understand is was a subscription service.
And so I get it. But the Blue Cruise is
specifically listed in my package. That doesn't say subscription service.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
It is not, as I have never heard of an
adaptive cruise control ever on a subscription ever. Right now,
I don't think.

Speaker 10 (43:36):
Our control will still work it's just the self driving
mode that does not no longer works.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
All right, man, I don't know if it's me or listen, Kevin, Kevin, listen.
There are two parts to these things. One is the
navigation where it gets its directions on where to go. Okay,
that's navigation that's on a subscription basis.

Speaker 5 (44:04):
Then you have Then you have.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Adaptive cruise control, which is not self driving, but a
lot of people feel it is self driving. That adaptive
cruise control will still work, but how it interacts with
navigation will not. I get, And that's what you're calling
self Okay, so everything is as it should be.

Speaker 10 (44:25):
No, no, no, no. The adaptive cruise control is separate
from the navigation. Yes, it is part of blue Cruise,
which is the self driving mode.

Speaker 4 (44:38):
But it's not going to expire when blue cruise when
the self driving and what you call self driving is
where the drive controls follow navigation for all practical purposes.
When people talk about like I was told my BMW
had self driving, it doesn't have self driving. It has

(44:58):
adaptive cruise control, which can change lanes, go fast, go slow.

Speaker 5 (45:03):
Stop, go start stop.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
It can do all of that, but it doesn't follow
navigation when it follows navigation. It is true self driving
mind doesn't, and Tesla wrote the book on it, but
yours here. Here's what I think you're confused about. Your
adaptive cruise control. Your self driving mode will stop in

(45:25):
regards to interacting with navigation, but it will not stop
as a feature on your call on your truck. You
can still get in traffic and set it for fifty
and it will keep the lane and it will keep
the spacing and it will still work.

Speaker 10 (45:44):
You're exactly right. However, the Blue Cruise is a separate
system that will steer and you go around the curves
and you let go of the steering wheel and it
takes over, and it is not connected to navigation. I
can't I can't punch in my navigation an address to

(46:05):
go to and hit it and say blue Cruise, take
me there. That's not what this is. This is just
an additional part. It stays in your lane and it
and the adaptive cruise control still works, so it'll slow down,
but it'll you just let go of the steering wheel
and it drives itself, and it is tied with the
cruise control, but it it's self steering.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
Yeah. But that's what you're That's what I know. I
get what you're saying. So you're saying the self steering
parts going away. Are you sure of that or are
you misunderstanding it?

Speaker 10 (46:40):
The self steering goes away, I can't, I can no
longer let go of the steering wheel and let it go.

Speaker 5 (46:48):
You know, I hate so all it is.

Speaker 4 (46:51):
So you're you're going to be left with just cruise
control and a bit of adaptation of cruise control, but
you're not going to have You're not going to have
any steering control whatsoever. So you're saying it'll drift out
of your lane.

Speaker 10 (47:08):
Yes, well, and if you let go of your steering
wheel then then it'll start beeping at you and saying.

Speaker 14 (47:13):
I get it, I get it, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (47:16):
I get it. So here it was so so on
your Maroni sticker it talks about blue Cruise. Are you
is blue cruise just the adaptive cruise control part of it?
And you're putting too much on In other words, maybe
you misread the Maroni sticker thinking that you were buying

(47:37):
the self steering forever.

Speaker 10 (47:41):
No, it's it is listed separate from the.

Speaker 4 (47:46):
And what was the charge?

Speaker 10 (47:50):
The whole package that was included was I want to say,
thirty seven dollars.

Speaker 4 (47:55):
And you but you knew, you knew the navigation part
and which part? How much was the navigation part of that?

Speaker 10 (48:05):
It's much cheaper.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
It's like, is it part of the thirty seven hundred?

Speaker 10 (48:12):
It is not.

Speaker 4 (48:15):
It is so that thirty seven hundred that you paid
upon purchase was just for all of this, add all
of this capability.

Speaker 5 (48:25):
But it's expiring.

Speaker 14 (48:28):
Correct, So if I want to renew my Blue Cruise
right for lifetime, it's twenty five hundred dollars twenty four
ninety five or something like that for lifetime membership.

Speaker 5 (48:39):
But you're and you're.

Speaker 4 (48:40):
Saying I already paid. I get it. You saying I
already paid for it. So didn't the dealer when you
called for didn't they agree with you?

Speaker 10 (48:51):
The guy I called the Ford corporate office and yes,
he agreed with me.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
Then why didn't they make an adjustment on your account?

Speaker 10 (49:00):
Well, that's what I would like to.

Speaker 4 (49:02):
Know, Okay, I would go back. I would go back
to the dealer. Where did you buy it? Where did
you buy it?

Speaker 10 (49:10):
I bought it up in Denver. I live in the Springs.
I bought it in Denver. At Oh shoot, I can't
think of the dealership name.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
That's where I would begin. Did you ever contact your dealer?

Speaker 10 (49:23):
I have not.

Speaker 4 (49:24):
Okay, I'm going to mark this down for Deputy Doc here.
Hey Doc, okay, yes, sir, I want you to help him,
but I want him first before you get involved, to
call his dealer. And here's what I want you to say, Kevin,
because it got complicated and I want to keep it simple.

(49:46):
I want you to tell the dealer that you paid
thirty seven hundred dollars for self steering and it's going away.
And did they make it clear? Can I see your
Marie sticker? Can you send us a copy?

Speaker 10 (50:03):
I can? I can go back and get it.

Speaker 4 (50:06):
It'll okay, all right, dud dude.

(51:48):
Welcome to the show.

Speaker 5 (51:49):
We have a question for Joe on roofing.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
So he has a twenty year old roof and an
eighteen hundred square foot house. Joe, I say this to everyone,
and I'm going to go over it, and I even
posted something on LinkedIn and YouTube and Facebook and all
of that, and then I have Henry with us to
give an opinion from Excel Roofing. But I want to
ask a question first. Was there hail damage on this roof?

Speaker 12 (52:17):
Yeah, there is hail damage on it.

Speaker 4 (52:20):
Was it accumulated hail damage or is it accumulated hail damage?
Or is it from one storm? You can identify.

Speaker 12 (52:28):
It's from one storm.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
Good?

Speaker 12 (52:31):
Probably three about two months ago.

Speaker 4 (52:34):
Actually good, because the biggest mistake people make is they
let damage accumulate. If they do that, the insurance company
will not pay for all of them at once. They
will treat each one separately with a separate deductible and
a separate payout, and sometimes they will reject it if

(52:55):
the future one has more of the same damage, so
you end up with no coverage except from the very
first one. So what I recommend for everyone listening is
that you always report hail damage if you have hail damage.

Speaker 5 (53:09):
But the question you had.

Speaker 4 (53:11):
Is who should you call a public adjuster, a qualified roofer,
or the insurance company. I want to tell you a
few things. I'll let Henry in on this from Excel Roofing.
First and foremost, never ever ever call your insurance company first.

(53:32):
Never why because if you inquire about acclaim, even if
they don't pay a dime.

Speaker 5 (53:41):
In fact, even.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
If you do not have damage, the mere inquiry is
counted against you on your clue report. A clue report
is what the insurance companies do to keep track of
you and what kind of a risk you are, and

(54:06):
they have decided that in their algorithm, those who ask
about claims are almost as bad as those who get
claims paid. So you never call your insurance and say,
come on out and check my roof, because if an
adjuster comes out and checks your roof and you have

(54:27):
no insurance claim at all, it will still count against you.
So who should you call? A public adjuster? Is someone
you said independent? They're not. Independent adjuster is the wrong term.
Independent adjuster is the name insurance companies give adjusters they

(54:48):
send to you because they hire them to come out
and look at your house, but they're not independent at all.
Independent adjusters work for roofing companies, excuse me, work for
insurance companies. Public adjusters work for the public. But you
don't need a public adjuster if all you have is
roof damage. A public adjuster is best when you have

(55:11):
multiple damage windows, siding, decks, painting, roofing, and you want
someone to parse through all of this and help advocate
for you at the insurance company. So the very first
call to make, Henry, what do you do when someone
has a hailstorm? What do you tell them and they're

(55:32):
wondering about roof damage?

Speaker 15 (55:35):
Henry, So to everybody listening, if you believe that you
might have hail damage, it's really important that you call
a reputable company like Excel Roofing first and we'll come
out there and verify if your.

Speaker 5 (55:51):
Roof has damage.

Speaker 8 (55:52):
And why that's so important is, like what Tom said,
you don't have the insurance out there and you're not
getting that claim on your record, and so we'll come
out there verify if you have damage, and then once
we verify that, we can meet the insurance adjuster out
there provide our documentation, show them our findings. And then
when you'd want to involve someone like a public adjuster

(56:15):
in a specific roofing scenario, is if the insurance company
denied that there was enough damage on the roof to
total it, but the homeowner is provided with information that
says otherwise, So therefore you can fight the claim and
we can usually get those roofs bought with help from
a public adjuster.

Speaker 4 (56:33):
Now, many times with an old roof, an insurance company,
you know, Excel Roofing might come out and say, yes,
you have damage from this storm, But an insurance company
sometimes will say, well, the roof was old and terrible anyway, Henry.
How often do you get those where the insurance company says,

(56:53):
this was a forty year old roof, it was bound
to go anyway, we're not paying.

Speaker 5 (56:56):
Do you ever get those? Yeah, all the time.

Speaker 8 (56:58):
And the insurance company like they're not really the homeowner's friends, right,
they're not. They want to push back, and so it's
always a fight with the insurance And the more and
more claims that happen in Denver, the more it becomes
a fight. So like of course they're going to say,
you know, okay, this is an old roof. We can't
tell if this was just granule loss or hail damage.
But if there's damage on that roof, we can prove

(57:19):
the storm date the damage.

Speaker 5 (57:20):
Yeah, and it'll get bought ninety percent of the time.

Speaker 4 (57:23):
So a good roofer can fight with your insurance company,
not like a public adjuster for multiple claims, but to
say the roof might have been old, but this hailstorm
put it over the top. And remember old roofs are
covered just like new roofs. But they try to tell
you no, they try to tell you this was all

(57:46):
pre existing damage and we're not covering it.

Speaker 8 (57:51):
Yeah, for all the homeowners listening rates are going up.
The insurance companies are trying to deny more properties.

Speaker 5 (57:58):
I would really ready to tear. If you think you
have damage, call us.

Speaker 8 (58:03):
We'll come do an inspection, because it might be your
last cheap roof. I mean, these insurance rates you're going up,
these deductibles are skyrocketing. It's a it's becoming kind of
a mess.

Speaker 4 (58:14):
Yeah. I mean some some roofing coverages are being dropped
to actual cash value, or they make such giant deductibles
that it's almost impossible to get it paid. For buy insurance, Joe,
did you have any follow up questions? No?

Speaker 12 (58:31):
I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (58:32):
Man.

Speaker 12 (58:33):
You guys are so concise on everything that you know.
The one thing I had I did have a question
on was a granual loss. But you know, because this
wasn't like a big, big sized hail. This is small stuff.
But you guys answered it already, So yeah.

Speaker 5 (58:51):
Get get it.

We are also installing free solar attic fans with any
full roof replacement. So if you call Excel Roofing, if
you have hail damage anything like that you need a
full roof replacement, we will do your full attic ventilation,
very similar to what we did at your house.

Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
Tom.

Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Yes, now that is a wonderful thing and it keeps
the temperatures more even for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
It really helps my attic fan.

Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
Not my attic fan, my whole house fan work less,
and my air conditioner works less. It's so much more
easy now to keep temperatures in upper floors. How many
attics do you now, if people went listen carefully, many
many homes, if not most of them, have inadequate attic insulation.
We're not talking about whole house fans now, we're talking

(01:01:17):
about attic insulation. You want the air in your attic
to be moving, so all of that. That is a
complete circulatory system in and of itself. So the air
should enter the lower part of the attic through eves
and vents and go out through the top of the attic.

(01:01:38):
That has nothing to do with your whole house fan
or anything that is attic insulation, excuse me ventilation.

Speaker 5 (01:01:46):
And what I've said was this in the past.

Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Don't bother having your whole house fan if your attic
is stuffed up, because your attic.

Speaker 5 (01:01:56):
Is going to just accumulate a bunch of hot air. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:02:00):
And it's like when a lot of people store stuff
in their attic and it starts to melt. It's an
obvious sign that there's not sufficient ventilation well.

Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
For sure, or if you go up there and it's
so hot you can't stand it. What you want in
an attic is a full circulatory system of convective currents
coming in and going out in through.

Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
The low, out through the top.

Speaker 4 (01:02:24):
And you guys do solar fans you did on my house,
and tell me how they work. These are not whole
house fans. These are attic fans. They're distinctly different.

Speaker 5 (01:02:35):
So the solar attic fans, they're really sweet.

Speaker 8 (01:02:37):
So you have your intake vents, which are your sofets,
so that's gonna be lower.

Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
Those are what we call eves, is okay, And there's
holes in the eves with grills on them.

Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
And that's to bring the air up through the attic.

Speaker 8 (01:02:49):
Right on the peak of the roof, we put these
fans that are kind of just like you know, a
standard fan, but they have a solar power attic or
they have a solar powered panel on there and so
never it's all self contained.

Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
Yep, it just it.

Speaker 8 (01:03:02):
It pulls a bunch of air from the lower part
of the roof and then exhausts it through the top.
And the sweet thing about those is you can actually
get a tax credit because they fall into that solar
tax credit, so.

Speaker 4 (01:03:12):
You get a tax credit for those. Plus they sit
there forever. They have like a fifty year warranty or something.
They sit there and just move whenever the sun's out.

Speaker 5 (01:03:22):
So for those who don't have.

Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
Attic fans normally, there are these clamshells or whatever they
call them, there's these these events turtle vents that just
sit there and natural convective current can move through your
attic still but not as well.

Speaker 5 (01:03:37):
Yeah, So that's what we call a static event.

Speaker 8 (01:03:39):
And they do work, but they're not nearly as efficient
as having a fan.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
So you really want a fan. Yeah, And those can
be put in without any wiring to the house whatsoever.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
So that's why I love them so much, the.

Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
Solar power, because you drop them right in.

Speaker 8 (01:03:52):
We can just we can go up there. You do
not need an electrician. That is the super key part
of that. So you get the tax credit, you don't
need an electrician. It's substantially easier.

Speaker 4 (01:04:02):
I'm justeah, how many how many did I put in?

Speaker 5 (01:04:05):
I think we got two or three on your roof
or more than that. I thought, well, we did some
B one four static events. But oh okay, okay, got it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
And then you did some power fans, so the temperature
in my attic went down dramatically. And then my whole
house fan, which takes hot air out of the house
and through the attic through the outside, works better. So
don't even bother getting a whole house fan. I love
whole house fans by the way. They take the cooler
air from below and expel the hottest air on the

(01:04:36):
top in your home space. But don't bother getting a
home space attic fan. Excuse me, a whole house fan.
If the attic is jammed up, you want that attic breathing. Now,
why do you want the attic breathing even in the winter.

Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
Why do you want that? Well, summer and winter, why
do you.

Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
Want do you you kind of are equalizing that attic
with the outside.

Speaker 5 (01:04:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:04:58):
Absolutely, But then so what you're bringing up with the
winters when the insulation comes into play, and so you
need to have proper insulation in your attic, And the
code for most of Denver is at R forty nine,
and so that's going to keep your house cool in
the summer.

Speaker 5 (01:05:12):
And warmer in the winter.

Speaker 4 (01:05:14):
But having the air moving actually, whether cold or hot.
Having the convective currents helps in both air conditioning and heating.

Speaker 5 (01:05:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
Yeah, so that attic fan. I can't say enough about him.
If I was looking to if I was looking to
upgrade my home, I'm going to give you the three tips,
the three things to get your home more energy efficient.

what we can do to help you anyway we can.
As we say, Chris has a question for Excel. Henry

(01:06:33):
stepped away, but I can try to answer. Go ahead, Chris,
what is your question?

Speaker 5 (01:06:38):
Hi?

Speaker 16 (01:06:39):
I'm getting bids for a new roof, and one of
the other roofers is offering me something called a deck
air vent, and I've never heard of that, and I'm
wondering if that's as good or better than the.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Turn that's exactly. A deck air vent is nothing more
than a vent in the decking of your roof. It's
just an ad event. And where are they offering it.

Speaker 16 (01:07:00):
It's supposed to be like just three feet up from
the eves and it runs horizontal through the ground, but
it runs like the whole length of the roof.

Speaker 4 (01:07:08):
I guess, wait a minute, wait a minute. Three feet
up from the eaves. That's pretty low. Do you have
a I don't understand that at all. What was their reasoning?
What was their reasoning behind it?

Speaker 5 (01:07:21):
Want?

Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
You want the vent high as you can get. In fact,
there is something something called a ridge vent where the
pointy part of the roof is vented all the way down.

Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
You don't want it halfway up.

Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
You don't want it three feet up. You want it
almost to the.

Speaker 5 (01:07:40):
Peak, right right.

Speaker 16 (01:07:43):
I think this is an intake instead of a safft
because I don't have any saufets.

Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
Okay, that's okay, then that's what it is it's the
intake they're putting in. What they're saying to you is
you don't have enough intake vents for ventilation. Right.

Speaker 5 (01:08:02):
Did you already sign a contract with this roofer?

Speaker 13 (01:08:05):
Not yet?

Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:08:06):
Okay, yes? Are they asking for money up front?

Speaker 16 (01:08:10):
They are not? And I have Excel coming this afternoon.

Speaker 4 (01:08:13):
Good, have Excel come and give give a look. But
here's what I want, and it's good to get multiple ones.
And I'd love to hear your feedback after you do.
But what I what I want to do is I
want to ask you you have ridge vents or high vents,
but not low vents? Is that right?

Speaker 16 (01:08:31):
Right now?

Speaker 13 (01:08:32):
We have no vents?

Speaker 5 (01:08:33):
Nothing, no vents. Wait a minute, you have a house.
How old is your house?

Speaker 13 (01:08:39):
Eighteen ninety eight?

Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
There? What did you just say? Eighteen ninety eight? Are
you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 16 (01:08:46):
No, it's one of the really old ones, little old Victorian.

Speaker 5 (01:08:49):
Are you in Denver? Where are you located at?

Speaker 16 (01:08:52):
I'm down in the springs.

Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
Okay, I a if you have a pre nineteen hundred home, listen,
you need to upgrade the ventilation for sure. Hold on
and let's go over it, because you're gonna need some
really serious venting. Otherwise that house is going to be
a pressure cooker. And right now I'm surprised you're even
getting air conditioning heat to work effectively. I'm really surprised.

(01:09:17):
So please hang in there, Chris. We'll come right back

Speaker 5 (01:10:19):
No Tom Martine.

Speaker 4 (01:10:21):
Hello, I'm Tom Martino. This is a troubleshooter show. Give
us a call at three zero three seven to one
three talk. If you want to talk about problems, questions
and complaints, the things that make you tick, the things
that tick you off, we uh talk about it. All
those everyday aches and pains. Really there's nowhere else to
talk about them, so we do it right here.

Speaker 5 (01:10:42):
We try to solve your problems if we.

Speaker 4 (01:10:44):
Can, getting directly involved, we answer your questions. Of course,
we left off with a question on venting. We talked
about ventilation in an attic. If you don't have proper
ventilation in your attic. Now we're talking about your attic
which should be completely sealed off from your home. In fact,

(01:11:08):
you should even do foam around your light fixtures and
your wires that go through down the walls. You should
have a completely separate, sealed off attic from the home.
The attic should be well insulated on the ceiling. Above
the ceiling and then above the insulation, you should have

(01:11:31):
free flowing air coming from the low part of the
attic to the ridge or the high part of your roof.
And what excel roofing does, our guest today, excelroofing dot com.
What they do is they add attic fans that are
solar powered. They drop in your attic that are self contained.

(01:11:56):
When the sun shines, they go on and they keep
air moving. But you don't need a fan. You can
do just a vent if you want. But Chris said
she's in the springs. She had one roof for come out.
Who said they're going to put some venting in. But
I didn't undert talking about putting in lower venting and

(01:12:20):
not higher venting.

Speaker 5 (01:12:22):
You need both and pre n nineteen hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
And it doesn't have any ventilation in the attic whatsoever.
So Chris, what kind of roof do you have on
there right now?

Speaker 16 (01:12:44):
She's a standard asphalt roof, but it's getting on twenty
years old.

Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Okay, did you have a storm or you just having
it replaced self paying?

Speaker 16 (01:12:57):
I'm self paying.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Okay. Now we asked Excel about this if they got
a call from you or not. You do have Excel
roofing coming out there today?

Speaker 7 (01:13:12):
I do?

Speaker 13 (01:13:14):
I did.

Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
Yeah, they didn't recall it, Henry.

Speaker 8 (01:13:17):
Yeah, So I just I talked to our branch manager
down there. Do you know who your project manager is?

Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:13:23):
Caleb, Yeah, Caleb.

Speaker 5 (01:13:27):
Okay, okay, good.

Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
So when Caleb comes out, ask him about the attic ventilation.
Most likely they're going to pop a few holes in
your sowfits or you're below if you don't have a
soffit or a face you know, a soffit, and then
they will put a self contained solar powered fan in

(01:13:50):
and that will make wonders in your attic. But this
particular company not to throw stones at him. They recommended
that they put invents three feet above your your eves.
What were they saying they would do for the top
of your roof, the upper part of your roof? Did
they recommend they put venting in there?

Speaker 16 (01:14:13):
Thinka two one with a ridge event and one without.
And I thought that doesn't make sense without.

Speaker 4 (01:14:21):
So no, not at all. In fact, it's useless. Yeah, yeah,
it's useless. A ridge vent, by the way, is not bad.
That's event all the way down the peak. But I
think you can do a ceiling fan excuse me, an
attic fan much cheaper. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:14:40):
So what I'll talk to Caleb about is we'll do
a bid for the intake event, so that would be
probably around your soft or somewhere around that area, the
lower part doing Yeah, so that's the lower part of
the roof, and then doing something like a solar power
attic fan, and so that would be more of our
best option. And then there's another option that's a ridge

(01:15:00):
vent and that would just be some ventilation, and that
would be a static vent.

Speaker 5 (01:15:04):
So it's really up to you.

Speaker 8 (01:15:05):
I recommend the solar powered attic SAN because it'll really
pull that air through the attic, but that will be
a little bit more expensive.

Speaker 4 (01:15:13):
But there's no wiring needed for the house or anything.
It's really and it really will extend the life of
your roof and it will help make your house more
energy of fission as well. So you're moving in the
right direction, Chris by trying to get ventilation in the attic.
Anyone who has a static attic and rhymes static attic

(01:15:33):
is going to be really, really, really disappointed when it
comes to performance over roof roofs will wear out faster,
believe it or not. Your roof will warp, the decking
won't last, and the heating and cooling of your home
will be more difficult. It's best to keep that attic
completely separated. By the way, Chris, how is your insulation

(01:15:58):
in the ceiling which would be the floor of your attic.

Speaker 16 (01:16:04):
So one part we related insulation in another part you
can't get into it all.

Speaker 13 (01:16:10):
So I have probably nothing.

Speaker 4 (01:16:13):
You might yeah, well you probably want to have some
blown in if you can.

Speaker 8 (01:16:18):
Yeah, we recommend blowing in insulation. So there's the spray
foam and the blown in, and especially just for the attic,
it's important to do the blown in because the spray foam,
if you were to get a leak or something like that,
it would be impossible to find it until it rots
everything out.

Speaker 4 (01:16:33):
Yeah, so in the attic you want that blown in,
Sayulos and we have the Best Way I believe it's
called Best Way Installation on a referral list. They're really
good people. Let me just make sure I have the
name right. They're really good people. I don't know if
they go to the springs we do.

Speaker 5 (01:16:55):
Do you do insallation, you can do that, we do insulation.

Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
Can you do the blown in installation for so? Then
I since they're going to be at your house anyway.
But Best Way is the name of a really good
installation company. But if you're going to have Excel there
anyway doing the events, they can blow in in that
area and any area can be assessed accessed by the way.
So even though you don't think it can get accessed.

(01:17:20):
There are ways to do it, all right, Chris, thank
you for calling three oh three seven one three talk
seven one three A two five five. Someone wants to
ask about the free gutter cleaning. They want to know
did did the three get taken up already? Do you
know we were offering three free gutter cleanings for anyone

(01:17:40):
over eighty if you called, and you call excel Roofing
three oh three seven six one sixty four hundred, do
you know if those slots were taken?

Speaker 5 (01:17:50):
You know, I have not checked at the office yet,
but just call anyway. They'll let you know if it's taken.

Speaker 8 (01:17:54):
The message that I delivered to my office is that
the first three we're going to offer it for free,
and then anything after that will be just.

Speaker 5 (01:18:01):
In ninety nine bucks.

Speaker 8 (01:18:02):
And that ninety nine bucks goes a long way is
because that is it's.

Speaker 4 (01:18:06):
Yeah, gutter cleaning is a tough job. So Excelroofing dot
com three or three seven sixty one sixty four hundred.

Speaker 17 (01:18:15):
Hey Tom, why don't you so we've been talking roof
car shield? Oh very good one. Let me let me
find it.

Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
So car shield And it was it was in twenty
twenty four, which is funny because you don't hear a
lot about it. Ice t was one of their one
of their favorite endorsement people. You know anyway, car Shield
had a A was fined by the government from the
Federal Trade Commission in July twenty twenty four, so it

(01:18:49):
was like a year ago, and it was right about
a year ago. They were fined ten million dollars for
deceptive and misleading advertising relating to service contracts because their
ads claimed that all covered repairs were paid, but the

(01:19:11):
contracts contained numerous exclusions. Customers often found engine, transmission and
other key repairs not covered. Carshield also said they made
false allegations about rental cars, and they said that they
do not offer the rental car coverage that they bred

(01:19:35):
that they bragged about. In reality, many shops won't accept
plans and rentals weren't provided. The other one were celebrity
endorsers Iced Tea, Chris Berman, Vivica Fox, whoever that is,
and others were presented as real users who saved money,

(01:19:57):
but they actually hadn't used the product at at all.

Speaker 5 (01:20:02):
So Carshield must pay ten million dollars.

Speaker 7 (01:20:07):
To the FTC, and they have to change, and they must.

Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
Now I've seen the advertising recently and it doesn't sound
like they changed it at all. Those who bought the
plan may be eligible for refunds, so people, I never
recommend these warranties, never, never, ever, ever, because there are
always way more exceptions than not and you're not going
to get them covered. You're not going to get it

(01:20:34):
covered like you think you are. I know people are
looking for a panacea. The best defense with a used
car is to get it checked out before you buy it. Now,
that's not going to be the end all, but it's
going to be something.

Speaker 5 (01:20:48):
Okay, you really, really truly need.

Speaker 4 (01:20:50):
To get a car checked out, get it completely checked out.

Speaker 5 (01:20:54):
Before buying it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:56):
I can't tell you how many problems start out here.
I bought a car has one hundred, one hundred and
fifty even two hundred thousand miles. They never got it
checked and they expect to have trouble free ownership.

Speaker 5 (01:21:10):
It's just not going to happen. It's just not going
to happen.

Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
More. After this, go with a sure thing Denver's Best
roofer Excel roofing dot com. You don't pay a cent
until you're content. Time for an insurance check up free
no obligation. In comparison, call Compass insurance paying too much

(01:21:38):
your coverage at dozens of insurance companies find out now
three o three seven to seven to one help. You'll
think you're his only customer when you choose Frank durand
the real estate man dot com to list your home
with Remax Alliance three oh three nine two zero sixteen
twenty two. Hi, Tom Archino three oh three seven one

(01:22:01):
three talks seven one three eight two five five.

Speaker 5 (01:22:05):
So car shields people have.

Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
Said that they have never gotten anything paid by car
shield Can you imagine the money they're making. They sell
this crap and don't get anything paid for.

Speaker 7 (01:22:19):
I'll tell you another thing, Tom, that's not cheap.

Speaker 4 (01:22:23):
What one hundred and twenty bucks a month?

Speaker 7 (01:22:26):
I think that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
Well, that's incredibly expensive. That is well, outrageously expensive.

Speaker 5 (01:22:34):
So how do they market these? Are these some of
these like extended warranty.

Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
Lee and the dealers sell them and get a hefty
commission for selling them, and then they advertise them on
TV all the time. They want consumers to ask for it. Okay,
speaking of finance and things you waste your money on
and all that, one thing I want to say a
lot of people are doing, and I think it's a
good idea. They're transferring that if they're not getting a

(01:23:01):
home equity loan to pay off high interest credit cards.

Speaker 5 (01:23:06):
They're doing balance transfers.

Speaker 4 (01:23:09):
Okay. One of the best that I have found is
a discover It Chrome. Now here's what it does. It
has a zero percent intro for eighteen months, then it hops,
of course eighteen to twenty seven percent variable. Okay, no

(01:23:29):
annual fee. But if you use this judiciously, and once
you transfer the balance, if you pay down that balance
and then use it and pay it off every month,
this is a wonderful card. This is not a commercial
this not that it would matter. I wouldn't do it
commercial unless I believed in it. But it's discover it Chrome.

(01:23:54):
It's the top pick of many consumer advocates because it
gives you eighteen full months of zero interest on transfers.
You'll pay no interest till twenty twenty seven. This is
called the discover It Chrome card. Zero interest for the

(01:24:17):
balance transfer and then zero interest for six months on purchases.
So when you open this today, you get a year
and a half of balance transfers with no interest balance
transfers with no interest.

Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
Then you get the next six.

Speaker 4 (01:24:37):
Months for zero interest on new purchases, and then you
get an unlimited cash back of two percent. That's on
everyday purchases. I mean, I don't know how you. I
don't know how you beat it. I just don't discover
it Chrome. So if you're looking to get out of debt,

(01:24:58):
take your high interest debt and transfer it over to
one of this to this card for eighteen months. Now
keep track of that and make sure you start paying
down the balance because it'll hop back up. You know,
from eighteen to twenty seven percent. That's a lot of interest.
But the card itself is a good card. There's no

(01:25:19):
annual fee, none. So why don't you try it if
you're trying to get out of weight out of debt.

Speaker 5 (01:25:27):
I mean, and take a weight off your shoulders.

Speaker 4 (01:25:31):
That's what I meant to say, because this is a
true no interest transfer.

Speaker 5 (01:25:36):
Now there are others.

Speaker 4 (01:25:38):
Who boast this as well, but I'm telling you they're
not as good. They're not as good as the Chrome.
So that is the one. Again, the transfer fee many
times defeats the purpose.

Speaker 5 (01:25:56):
Some have transfer fees.

Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
The Chrome does not have a transfer fee, so you
don't pay a flat fee up front, no annual fee,
no transfer fee. You get two percent back on gas
and restaurant purchases, one percent back on everything else, zero
percent APR for eighteen months, and then at the end

(01:26:18):
of the first year Discover listen to this, We'll match
all of the cash back you earned and double your
rewards instantly. Golly, I mean, I'm serious. You heard about
it here. Discover it Chrome card. It's incredible. I mean,
the whole first year they match your cash back.

Speaker 5 (01:26:38):
Whatever you get, they double it.

Speaker 4 (01:26:41):
But remember remember you have eighteen months, and then that
hops up to fifteen percent, up to twenty seven percent.
It's a reliable, straightforward cash back card ideal for these transfers.

Speaker 5 (01:26:58):
But there are some others.

Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
There's a Wells Fargo Active cash card that's two percent
back in all purchases and you get zero percent interest
for fifteen months, no annual fee, and you get a
two hundred dollars bonus if you spend five hundred in
the first three months. Now, while this is okay, it

(01:27:22):
doesn't come close to the Chrome. And then City has
a double cash back card. You get two percent cash back,
one percent when you buy and one percent when you pay.
And this also has zero percent introductory balance transfer for
eighteen months with no annual fee. So I would say

(01:27:46):
second to the Chrome card, the Discover It Chrome card,
the second best one in mine would be uh would
be this back reward from wait, let me find it again.
It's a really good one. But not the Wells Fargo one.

(01:28:06):
Not the Wells Fargo one. But I'm telling you that
this is a chance. Yeah, I'm looking at it right now.
It's City Double Cash. It's City so City CI Double
Cash card. We'll give you two percent back and zero
for eighteen months. So they match the eighteen months of

(01:28:30):
Chrome Discover It. But still the Chrome is better because
you get six months of purchases with no interest. Now
why do they do this, Well, of course they're hoping
you're going to have a balance at the end of
that time to pay off. Now, years ago I found
a dirty trick. Some of these were playing for people

(01:28:51):
who play the balance transfer game, because at the end
of this eighteen months you can transfer to another card
with interest free transfers. You can actually play that game
and you can truly not pay interest for a long time.
I mean this one alone is a year and a half, right,

(01:29:12):
so toward the end of that year and a half,
you can transfer a balance from that card to another
balance free or excuse me, interest free transfer, and.

Speaker 5 (01:29:22):
You can play that game.

Speaker 4 (01:29:24):
But what I found was some of these cards, not
with the Chrome and not with Capital One, and not
with the major issuers, but some of them, what they
were doing is giving you a late notice on some
of your payments. They did not charge a late fee,
They just gave you a notice that you were late

(01:29:44):
on your payment. Now why would they do that, because
what they wanted to do is ding your credit, So
when you went to try to transfer the balance to
another interest free balance transfer card would be turned down.

Speaker 5 (01:30:01):
Because of your credit.

Speaker 4 (01:30:02):
So a lot of people just ignore those warnings that
they're late, especially when it doesn't affect their credit.

Speaker 5 (01:30:09):
But in these balanced transfer cards, they do it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:13):
Sometimes on purpose to try to keep you there, so
it keeps you from finding a new balance zero interest
balance transfer because of your credit.

Speaker 5 (01:30:23):
So beware of that.

Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
If ever, you have zero balance on your transfer and
you're making payments and you hear about any kind of
a late payment or a ding to your credit, you've
got to contest it immediately, of course, unless it's true,
because otherwise you're going to be trapped when it turns
from zero interest to high interest. I'm Tom Martinez. We

(01:30:49):

(01:31:35):
Artino here at three O three seven one three talk
seven one three A two five five. So there's free
gutter cleanings for the first three Did we have the
first three callers? Hit Henry.

Speaker 15 (01:31:48):
We did get three callers over eighty four of the
utter cleanings, so that one is.

Speaker 4 (01:31:52):
Full, okay, So then you can get the rest of
them for ninety nine bucks.

Speaker 5 (01:31:57):
Yep, So we are running a special.

Speaker 8 (01:31:59):
The utter cleanings are normally two ninety nine for residential
houses and that starts at one story and then three
ninety nine for two story. But for right now we're
doing ninety nine dollars gutter cleaning. So if you call
Excel Roofing three ozho three seven six' one sixty four zero,
zero we will come take care of. You and for everybody,
listening if you have had any hail, DAMAGE i would

(01:32:22):
really recommend calling because these rates are going, up these
deductibles are going, up the insurance industry is, changing and
this might be your last cheap roof in the near.

Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
Future oh, yeah definitely don't let any kind of damage
go without catching. It, Okay so somebody wants to know
what is the catch with these low or excuse, me
with these no interest balance. Transfers it's very. Easy they
want to make you a. Customer it's that. Simple and
even if you manage to pay off that balance without

(01:32:54):
paying interest they want they they figure you're going to
stay with them and use the credit card and they
will make money off of, You so there is no.
Catch it's really for. Real interest free balance transfers are
for real.

Speaker 5 (01:33:12):
And they can truly help.

Speaker 4 (01:33:14):
You do you understand how much they can save you
if you have any kind of a, balance transfer it
for a zero interest credit.

Speaker 5 (01:33:25):
Card so you transfer the.

Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
Balance so now instead of having let's say fifteen grand
on CARD, abc you now have fifteen grand on the
Discovered chrome. Card you will not have to pay interest
for eighteen. Months so if you take that eighteen months
and pay the hell out of, it you can get
out of debt way quicker because otherwise you're paying up

(01:33:48):
to twenty something percent in. Interest that puts a big
dent on your ability to. Repay so zero interest truly
helps you repay, quicker there is no, doubt and it
is your job to babysit because after the zero percent,
interest it goes to. Normal what is normal these days

(01:34:08):
for credit cards anywhere from eighteen to thirty. Percent it
is that's normal eighteen to thirty. Percent so do the
balance transfers if you. Can now someone else wanted to
know ABOUT i got a text here on travel. Insurance
this is the, season by the, way and people are,

(01:34:30):
leaving and people are people are traveling a, lot and
they want to know about travel. Insurance, okay there are
a lot of things that travel insurance will not pay,
for and people are buying it, anyway, okay thinking that

(01:34:52):
they're covered when they're. Not and travel insurance can add
two or three or four hundred dollars to a, trip
and people, say, well you know, what during this busy travel,
season if something happens to, Me i'm protected against. Disruptions,
however you will not necessarily get what you. Think for,

(01:35:12):
example some of these cruise, companies when they offer a,
guarantee you won't get a cash. Refund what you do
is get a voucher for a future, Cruise so if you.

Speaker 5 (01:35:25):
Need to, cancel you will not get a.

Speaker 4 (01:35:27):
Refund you need to know the terms and conditions of
these of these, insurance SO i put some together so.

Speaker 5 (01:35:35):
You could have a basic.

Speaker 4 (01:35:36):
Guide, okay first and, foremost look out for ones that
offer vouchers or credit and not. Refunds do not get.
Those they're good for. NOTHING i, mean you do get a,
value but you have to use it in the. Future
and by the, way the voucher is only for the

(01:35:57):
amount you, spent so if prices go up or you
have a very special, deal you don't get necessarily the
entire cruise with the. Voucher the voucher only is good
for what you. Spent so if the cruises have gotten more,
expensive you have to pay the. Difference keep that in
mind when it comes to travel, insurance you will only

(01:36:21):
get a voucher on some of. Them here's another thing
not covered pre existing medical. Conditions and believe, me they
mean anything at all that may have been a problem
of yours in the. Past if you've had migrain headaches
in the past and you cancel for another, reason they

(01:36:43):
try to connect those migraine headaches or, say, well you.

Speaker 5 (01:36:46):
Know you had a problem before.

Speaker 4 (01:36:49):
This so anything that was a medical condition before purchasing
the policy will not be. Covered now sometimes they have
a waiting, period but don't assume pre existing conditions are,
covered because they're probably. Not here's another, one political instability

(01:37:14):
or civil.

Speaker 5 (01:37:14):
Unrest do you remember what happened over.

Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
In israel In october when we had that civil unrest
And hamas Attacked israel will take any number of hotspots
in the.

Speaker 5 (01:37:25):
World if you don't feel safe.

Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
Because of a hotspot in the world or a military
conflict or, terrorism you will not be. Covered it absolutely
will not cover. You somebody had a trip they were
going To venezuela and there were some civil unrest there
was some civil, unrest they even.

Speaker 5 (01:37:48):
Closed the, airport would not it was not.

Speaker 4 (01:37:50):
Covered, also if you are thinking you're gonna get covered
for natural, disasters, No and a.

Speaker 5 (01:37:58):
Lot of people.

Speaker 4 (01:38:01):
During the pandemic found out the hard way that they
were not covered at all for the pandemic because the
pandemic was considered a natural. Disaster in, fact many policies
now they mentioned, Pandemics so so many people got caught
with trips they couldn't, take and it was not covered

(01:38:21):
by travel. Insurance, also obviously scams and frauds are not.
Covered so if you buy something and it was from
a scammer or a fraudster and you don't, go they
won't cover, it so you won't Get, now there are
some policies that will cover you for any reason. Whatsoever

(01:38:43):
these are no, exceptions but they cost a lot of,
money and they're only as good of The they're only
as good as the company behind. Them they have a
lot of flexibility, though and so they will cover probably
up to your prepaid, expenses but not your whole.

Speaker 5 (01:39:06):
Trip so there are many.

Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
Exceptions this is What i've, said even when it comes
to homeowner's, insurance when it comes to title. Insurance when
it comes to any, insurance always look for the exceptions
or exclusions. Always that is the most important important part
of an insurance. Policy it tells you what will and

will not be. Covered I'm Tom. Martine go with a

(01:40:40):
well this subscription cancelation THE ftc had a rule that
allowed you to cancel with a, click but they. Canceled
but that that was struck down by an appeals. Court,
okay it was unanimously struck down BY Us court Of
appeal in The Eighth circuit just days before it was

(01:41:04):
going to go into. Effect so there was going to
be an easy click per, cancel but industry leaders fought against.
It the goal was to make it easier to cancel a,
subscription and they said it should be as easy as
when you sign.

Speaker 5 (01:41:19):
Up but for some, REASON.

Speaker 4 (01:41:22):
I don't know, why The court Of appeals canceled, it
but they. Did and there are, many many ways to,
cancel but many of them require phone. Calls AND i
like the kind where you can just, Cancel but more
and more companies are making it difficult to find how to.
Cancel so if you sign up for a gym, membership for,
example it was a brutal, yeah and then try to,

(01:41:46):
cancel it's, very very difficult to find out how to,
cancel and they make you call a phone, number and
many times these phone numbers.

Speaker 5 (01:41:56):
Are tied up for hours and hours and.

Speaker 4 (01:42:00):
Hours, well The court Of appeals just published an opinion
that said it was a very poorly reasoned, thing and
companies have a right to run to make their own
terms and. Conditions they just went in and immediately struck it,
down they. Say they said that they believe that everyone

(01:42:22):
understands subscription traps and no, one no one is being
harmed by. THIS i disagree, totally but just so you,
know the click for cancel is not going through from now,
on you might put phone calls in or other requirements
for you to. Cancel some require that you give a

Call we help those who, listen of, course and, anyway
we have a lot to talk. About and one of
the THINGS i want to talk about the most trusted.
Brands so many people do surveys on the most trusted,
brands BUT i will tell you That newsweek does the

(01:44:19):
most comprehensive, anywhere absolutely. Positively but one THING i absolutely don't.
Understand we Have Henry brett with us From Excel, roofing
and they deal a lot with insurance, companies and the
number one according To, newsweek which takes into consideration by the,

(01:44:40):
way they rank seven hundred companies twenty three, industries and
they have over one hundred thousand. Evaluations they take a
metrics of about one hundred different things on the most reliable. Brands,
okay so they're talking about the brand, itself the service they,

(01:45:02):
provide and they did insurance. Companies what do you think
the number one brand is according To newsweek and their,
survey WHICH i, totally, absolutely positively positively disagree. With. ABSOLUTELY i,
mean it is the most ridiculous THING i have ever

(01:45:23):
heard of in my, life AND i can't believe. It
they have ranked as the number one most reliable insurance
Company State. Farm, now how Has state farmed to deal
with as a, Roofer, henry how would you rank?

Speaker 15 (01:45:38):
Them So State farm is better than Like, Liberty michele And,
safeco but it is not like it's it's not the.
Best but they all push. Back so insurance as a
whole is ray.

Speaker 4 (01:45:55):
Difficult BUT i can't believe That State farm would be
considered number one in the country for the most reliable
and the most. Trustworthy State farm the most trustworthy first and.
Foremost if you Have State farm and you want a better,
deal your agent is what's called, Captive so you can't

(01:46:18):
get a better. Deal you can't get a better deal
because all they can shop Is State. Farm that's all
they can. Shop they're a captive, agent Like, farmers Like American,
family like those.

Speaker 5 (01:46:30):
Companies in, fact my five.

Speaker 4 (01:46:33):
Worst companies would Be State, Farm, Farmers All, State American,
family And Fred.

Speaker 5 (01:46:42):
Loyer those are the five.

Speaker 4 (01:46:43):
Worst companies you can ever deal, with in my, opinion
based on consumers.

Speaker 15 (01:46:48):
Interactions so what do you think About LIKE?

Speaker 5 (01:46:50):
USAA usaa is pretty. Good, yeah that's what we're assuming.

Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
Too. YEAH Usa travelers is a good. Company, Yeah chubb
is a good. Company chubb is the, best really good.
Company Auto owners is a good. Company. Yep that's listed
on here as number seventeen out of one. Hundred but
if you go down to the bottom of their, list

(01:47:18):
well not the. Bottom let's let's say The hartford is
number thirty. Eight they just listed the top forty and
The hartford is thirty. Eight BUT i will tell you
that to Put State farmer is number. One, now Where's.

Speaker 5 (01:47:36):
Chubb Did chubb make that? List let's See chubb?

Speaker 4 (01:47:39):
Here just looking at the top. Ten tom here's the
top ten state farm in, power which is which is

Speaker 5 (01:48:04):
Equity that's the top.

Speaker 4 (01:48:06):
Ten IF i went down and looked For, Chubb geico is.
EIGHTEEN A Livery mutual is twenty. Two IF i look For,
chubb WHAT i cannot believe is it's not. Here And
i'm wondering if it's too much of a niche group
and maybe they don't make the numbers for the popularity of.

Speaker 5 (01:48:26):
Surveys it's really, expensive isn't.

Speaker 8 (01:48:28):
It i'm not sure what those policies are in comparison
to something Like Liberty, mutual.

Speaker 5 (01:48:32):
But they happen to.

Speaker 4 (01:48:34):
Be so these are all insurance, companies including health insurance
Like progressive is thirty three out of. Forty in any,
CASE i don't have any confidence in a Study State.
FARM i don't know how you get much. WORSE i,
MEAN i don't even understand.

Speaker 5 (01:48:54):
It State Farm. WOW i mean specifically from the roofing.

Speaker 8 (01:48:59):
PERSON i think that Like Liberty mutual And Safe co
averse On State farm because they do not want to
pay out on claims and when they, do they don't
pay labor. Rates so say that the cost of some
kind of labor for an hourly is thirty bucks an.
Hour SAFECode will try to pay out like twenty bucks
and they won't budge on that at, All and they

(01:49:21):
use a different price sheet than the rest of the insurance.

Speaker 4 (01:49:23):
Companies, so, folks if you're looking at different kinds of,
companies that's how they rank, them AND i would not
put much trust in. Them now you can go to other.
Categories for, example consumer. Goods what do you think the

(01:49:44):
number one brand is on consumer Goods procter And. Gamble,
well they have so many, COMPANIES i mean so many.
Products procter And gamble is number, one And procter And
gamble of, course god o my they have so they
have literally one thousand. Products after, that The clorox company

(01:50:07):
is number, Two hallmark is number, Three colgate is number.
Four Clin, tools believe it or, not is in the top.
Ten Clin tools Has bro number, Six Delta faucets number,
Seven Yankee candle number.

Speaker 5 (01:50:24):
EIGHT i, mean think about, this how can you put
all brands?

Speaker 4 (01:50:29):
Together there are so many different categories within these. Companies
And bath And bodyworks is number. Nine number ten Is
steinway And. Sons, well who's going to complain about a.
Piano mattel is number. Eleven so basically what they're doing
is Like cohler would be. Sixteen so if you want

(01:50:50):
to look this, up it's rankings dot newsweek dot, Com
rankings dot newsweek dot, com and you can put in
whatever category you.

Speaker 17 (01:51:05):
Want is it one, Automobiles tom must there must Be let's.

Speaker 5 (01:51:10):
See number one In Tesla. Motors let's, see did you
look it? Up Harley.

Speaker 4 (01:51:16):
DAVIDSON i can see. That Harley davidson is number, One,
goodyear number two Safe.

Speaker 5 (01:51:22):
Light see what they do is they that's.

Speaker 4 (01:51:26):
All, automotive so they're not taking cars themselves or motor,
vehicles but the entire. History so that's where it gets.
Weird So Harley, Davidson, yeah you got a die hard
audience there that loves what they. Have And Cooper, Tires discount,
Tire A'reiley Auto, Parts Advanced. Autoparts ford is number. Nine

(01:51:49):
ford is the only manufacturer for cars on the list
and they rank number nine and that's probably for THE
f one Fifty generals is eleven on a list eleven
and then it goes it goes from. There but there's
such a mixed smash of categories they. Put they group

(01:52:12):
the categories too, widely in my, Opinion so they're they're
like they're grouped together so, Widely like if you did
food and, Beverage food and beverage number, One campbell's of,
course you, Know campbell's is non, Controversial campbell's. Soup you,
know there's not a lot going on there as far
as controversy or what people would be opposed. To and

(01:52:36):
Then Quaker, Oats, Hershey coca colainly not a reflection of product.
Quality it's just it's not it's not it's just what
people of the brands based but what people think of the.
Brands the most accurate reflection of the. Company, well it's.

Speaker 5 (01:52:58):
A perception is that they, say for reception is.

Speaker 3 (01:53:00):
Everything so people aren't getting food poisons By kellogg's or in.

Speaker 4 (01:53:04):
General mills is number, Five freedole is number, Six pepsicoast,
Seven Coca cola's on. THERE i, mean, again whatever metrics they're,
using they have done, Hundreds they do hundreds of different,
measurements and they listen to the survey twenty five thousand

(01:53:24):
people and more than one hundred thousand. Evaluations i'd like
to actually see the. Questionnaire i'm curious who's doing this
Servos Well, Newsweek, WELL i Mean newsweek is the one
that commissioned. It so, okay. Healthcare that's, Interesting like what
is included in? Healthcare, well SOMETHING i never heard teledoc

(01:53:50):
must be like a telecommunications for, Doctors, Medline, Walgreens Oak,
Street Baptist, Health bristol Weers.

Speaker 5 (01:54:00):
Helm, yeah of course to get a doctor.

Speaker 4 (01:54:05):
From the. NAME i could figure that one out. There,
yeah and AGAIN i don't put a lot of stock
in these, things.

Speaker 5 (01:54:13):
But they are what they're asking our.

Speaker 4 (01:54:15):
Opinions but as d, said is in perception everything what people.
Think BUT i don't think people know how to evaluate
the quality of a. Product but maybe you. Disagree now
they actually, do probably just.

Speaker 15 (01:54:28):
THE i, mean if a company offers good customer service
and delivers a good customer, experience quality might, suffer but
the customer will still be.

Speaker 4 (01:54:38):
Happy, yeah that's. True that's. True three oh three seven
one THREE a two five. Five but as far as complaints,
Go State farm would be on the top of the
list of complaints on how badly they handle on how
they handle, claims which is funny because they come out
as one of the most trustworthy brands in the. Country

(01:54:58):
so that's Where i'm. Confused BUT i only hear from
people who are pissed off, anyway if you think about, It,
yeah we do have a self selected sample population that
calls in with. Complaints and someone says here that they've
been With farmers since eighty. One three vehicle, claims two

(01:55:23):
hail claims on the, house and three vehicle paid for.
Everything awesome service and their roadside is. Awesome. Farmers, again
that's a captive, agent so you would never know if
you could do better on. Pricing remember their captive meaning
if you wanted to get another, policy it would have
to be Within. Farmers so if you said to your,

(01:55:44):
agent find me a better, policy or shop my, policy
they're never going to shop outside Of.

Speaker 5 (01:55:48):
Farmers they're not allowed.

Speaker 4 (01:55:50):
To so captive, agents in my, opinion can sometimes get
you the best deal if it so happens to be
the one they're. Representing if it's not the one they're,
representing you'll never know about. It So state Farm, farmers All,
State American, family And Fred loyer are all captive. Agents

(01:56:10):

From henry On Excel. Roofing, so when you have a

(01:57:06):
dispute about labor and there's a few thousand dollars, apart
Does excel adjust or what do they do if they're
just not willing to pay the labor? Rate if an
insurance company, says, no we don't think we're paying that,
much what do you?

Speaker 5 (01:57:20):
Do, well we do our.

Speaker 8 (01:57:24):
Best to get the insurance company up to our labor,
rate because you, know roofing is a hard job and
we want to pay our guys what they're.

Speaker 4 (01:57:30):
Owed but isn't there like a standard somewhere that they
can go, like what's? Zactimate, yeah you, know so.

Speaker 8 (01:57:36):
Exactly so there's two softwares that the insurance companies use
to estimate these. Projects they use exactimate and, symability and
so exactimate is a lot more generous on those kind of,
pricing and so we're able to pay those more like you,
know fair labor.

Speaker 4 (01:57:51):
Rates, well, well insurance companies looked at exactimate and, say,
okay we'll pay.

Speaker 5 (01:57:55):
Yeah, Absolutely so that's.

Speaker 8 (01:57:56):
Exactimate but simbility is what like, liberty mutual and safe
co uses and that.

Speaker 5 (01:58:01):
Software it's just it's the absolute bare.

Speaker 8 (01:58:04):
Bones they don't include stuff that they really are required
to and it's just a, big huge.

Speaker 5 (01:58:09):
Fight so we do our best to get them up
to our labor.

Speaker 8 (01:58:11):
Costs and you, know if we absolutely can't get them
up to our labor, costs and we'll just have to
start eating our. Margin so those those claims can be
but you don't force somebody into a.

Speaker 4 (01:58:21):
Contract they can always cancel if they didn't get the
coverage they believe they should.

Speaker 8 (01:58:25):
Get, yeah, absolutely if they want to cancel a, contract
or whatever the homeowner wants to. Do but you, know
if we're if we're working on a stability claim Through Liberty,
mutual we're going to do our best to get that.

Speaker 5 (01:58:38):
Job done for what the insurance. Provided somebody wants to
know about tearing.

Speaker 4 (01:58:42):
Off how important is it that you tear off a
previous row or a previous layer of shingles or their
insurance company is insisting they go over it and don't
pay for.

Speaker 8 (01:58:53):
Tearoff SO i think that's crazy that the insurance company
isn't paying for tear off because it's way better better
to just rip everything.

Speaker 5 (01:59:01):
Off it is are at the, Decking.

Speaker 4 (01:59:03):
But is it?

Speaker 8 (01:59:04):
Necessary it is technically not, necessary but it. Is IT'S i,
mean it's just like anything like if you put a
band aid on top of a band, aid is it
really gonna? HELP i, mean there's just a whole lot of.
PENETRATIONS i don't really agree with. LAYOVERS i mean you
can you can do a layover on something like a
cedar shake. ROOF i mean it's a bad. Idea you
wouldn't want to do, that but, no of course you

(01:59:25):
can do.

Speaker 4 (01:59:26):
It wait a, minute you could put asphalt over, yeah that's.
Ridiculous that must look.

Speaker 8 (01:59:31):
Ugly, YEAH i mean there's been times where we've found
like four roofs on top of an existing asphalt, Shingle
and the issue with that is the decking can't support
that much. Weight and so even if you're doing like
a so there's like a regular asphalt shingles and then
you can do like a. Presidential so if you wanted
to do a presidential layover on top of an asphalt,

(01:59:52):
shingle you're adding just that much more weight per square
on those. Shingles and with that thin os, beer that thin,
decking it'll start a.

Speaker 4 (02:00:00):
Sad but do do codes allow you to put over a?

Speaker 5 (02:00:04):
Layover so it depends on the. JURISDICTION i.

Speaker 8 (02:00:07):
BELIEVE i according to MY icc book it's three layers that's.
Approved but LIKE i, said it's just it's a bad.
Idea it's much better just to rip it.

Speaker 4 (02:00:17):
Off so all of your bids include tear.

Speaker 5 (02:00:19):
Off, absolutely we do not like to do.

Speaker 8 (02:00:21):
Layovers we can do layovers in some.

Speaker 4 (02:00:24):
Circumstances what would be a reason to do a?

Speaker 8 (02:00:27):
Layover so one layover THAT i do agree with is
like stone code is, steel so it's that it's those
steel panels that have the asphalt granules on top of.
It and according to, code you can do a stone
code is steel over an asphalt, roof WHICH i do agree.
With but even then there's a lot of penetrations that
go through those shingles and it has a.

Speaker 4 (02:00:49):
High and you do the stone code is steel, okay,
yeah and you go over an existing asphalt, roof do
you put down paper? First tar? Paper what they? Could
that's what they call it.

Speaker 8 (02:00:59):
Underlayment, no so that underlayment is already under the asphalt,
Shingles so those.

Speaker 4 (02:01:04):
Asphalts but if that's if that's, leaking then wouldn't that
be like just put covering up the bad?

Speaker 5 (02:01:10):
Exactly that's why you should do a. Layover but say
that a, roof that's why you shouldn't do a. Layer,
yeah that's why you shouldn't do a.

Speaker 8 (02:01:15):
Layover so say that there's like hail damage on an asphalt. Roof, yeah,
right but it's not. Leaking you could absolutely do a. Layover,
okay those stone could is still, panels so it wouldn't,
leak but it'll be way cheaper to do that stone
colded layover on top of that assphalt.

Speaker 4 (02:01:30):
Someone got a check and they said the roofer, said
the granules are, missing but it's not. Leaking SO i
want to know what are the. Granules are they for
looks or they do they have a? Function, no the
granules are absolutely. Structural the, shingles, yea what do they
do to the? Shingle they give it.

Speaker 8 (02:01:48):
Life it's just like it's like the paint on your.
Car you, know the paint is going to protect the,
metal and so the granules are going to protect the.
Fiberglass that's what those shingles are.

Speaker 4 (02:01:57):
Bound so the shingle is made up in the base of.
Fiberglass it's a fiberglass covered by, asphalt, asphalt and then the. Granules,
okay so, fiberglass asphalt and, shingles, yes excuse, me and,
granules and the granules protect the, fiberglass the fire excuse,
me protect the the. Whatever the asphalt cover and the

(02:02:19):
asphalt protects the, fiberglass and all together it makes a.
Shingle it makes up a.

Speaker 8 (02:02:25):
Shingle so when we're looking at hail damage those, bruises
that's where it's popping all those granules, off and so.

Speaker 5 (02:02:31):
Will it leak in that?

Speaker 4 (02:02:32):
Area so it.

Speaker 8 (02:02:34):
Takes a little, while but, yeah it, would it would
leak over some meters because it's gonna pop all those
granules off and then the fiberglass.

Speaker 4 (02:02:41):
And then the sun will be subjected to.

Speaker 5 (02:02:42):
That so it's just to the.

Speaker 8 (02:02:44):
Asphalt it's gonna significantly decrease well, yeah increase the the the.

Speaker 5 (02:02:52):
Wear on the, roof, okay from the.

Speaker 8 (02:02:54):
Sun, yeah the deterioration is gonna just it's gonna be much.

Speaker 4 (02:02:58):
Faster somebody here a text, SAID i have tea locked
shingles and they want to only do the part that's.
Damaged are you explaining what tea lock?

Speaker 8 (02:03:10):
Is so for everybody, listening there's three tabs and telock
shingles and these are the older kind of cheaper.

Speaker 4 (02:03:16):
Shingles telocks were for, wind, Right, yeah tea loocks were
designed for wind, resistance but they've since been.

Speaker 8 (02:03:21):
Discontinued, so like we operate In wyoming, Too and so
if there's a damaged telock roof up, there even if
there's a couple of those shingles are, damage the insurance.

Speaker 5 (02:03:31):
Should buy the entire roof and so but do they.

Speaker 4 (02:03:34):
Balk at it and try to just oh, yeah can
you buy replacement te?

Speaker 5 (02:03:37):
Locks? Oh you can't find them unless you find them second.
Hand but it's. Unrealistic they're not, okay so then they
do have to replace they Should.

Speaker 8 (02:03:44):
AND i just want to get this point, Across so
to everybody, listening if you have a teelock, roof you
should give Excel roofing a. Call there's a very very
strong chance we can get that thing bought through insurance
for wind. Damage if you've had a windstorm within the
past year or, so there's usually some missing shape goals
or some.

Speaker 4 (02:04:00):
Uplifted so you can almost always find something wrong with
a tea, lot whether it was heavy hail or.

Speaker 5 (02:04:05):
Not, yeah, exactly because if it just takes.

Speaker 8 (02:04:08):
A very minimal amount of damage to get the entire thing, bought.

Speaker 4 (02:04:12):
So you were able with minor damage to get the
whole tea block replaced because they're.

Speaker 5 (02:04:16):
Discontinued, yes that's good to.

you want to talk about rubber. Roofing i've heard about rubber. Rooms,
david tell me about rubber. Roofing are you talking about
a flatter type. Roof, right, well, no it.

Speaker 18 (02:06:00):
Was it was like a four twelve five twelve. Roof
it looked like three Tab and the guy told, me,
oh this is a rubber. Roof and it had like
a fifty year warranty or. Longer and the, roof he,
says this particular roof was on for twenty. Years it

(02:06:21):
still looked. Great and when you looked at it from the,
street it looked like street, cab maybe a little bigger
than a standard three, cab which is what three feet
or companies might have been four, foot but they had ribs.
Underneath and he, goes you could walk on it and.
Everything AND i was, wondering do they have anything like

(02:06:44):
that here In? Colorado?

Speaker 4 (02:06:46):
Now where did you have this? ROOF i saw it.

Speaker 18 (02:06:51):
In Washington state last. Week it's actually on my nephew's.

Speaker 4 (02:06:57):
House oh so it's not it's not. You it's not your,
roof it's your.

Speaker 12 (02:07:01):
Nephews, yeah and.

Speaker 4 (02:07:06):
You like? It you like?

Speaker 18 (02:07:09):
It?

Speaker 4 (02:07:11):
Yeah is it made of rubber or does it just
look like?

Speaker 18 (02:07:14):
Rubber, no it's actually made of.

Speaker 4 (02:07:17):
Rubber, Okay, So, henry what kind of roof is he talking?

Speaker 7 (02:07:22):
About SO i.

Speaker 8 (02:07:24):
Believe you're referring to a euro shield roof and they
are made of recycled semi truck. Tires we've installed a
couple of them over the past couple of.

Speaker 4 (02:07:32):
Years and are they. Good, yeah they are.

Speaker 8 (02:07:39):
GOOD i mean they are as close to hail proof
as you can. Get but they are going to be
substantially more than any like asphalt shingle or even a
stone cuts deal or tile. Product they're probably about four
times as. Expensive four. Times, yeah They're they're really. Expensive
and they are made In, canada so they are affected
by all kinds of shipping, costs, tariffs all that.

Speaker 4 (02:07:59):
Stuff but what are they guaranteed? For how?

Speaker 8 (02:08:03):
Long so the warranty that they have on there is
for fifty. Years it is a smaller, company SO i
can't vouch for any of their.

Speaker 4 (02:08:11):
Yeah dependable rights right right and all. That we don't
know if they'll be around Fifty but they have a
fifty year Warranty and is it?

Speaker 8 (02:08:17):
Halproof so, YEAH i would say it's. HAILPROOF i think
that that hailball has a better chance of going through
the back of THAT osb or that decking than through the.
SHINGLE i, mean you can smash these things with mallets and, hammers.

Speaker 4 (02:08:30):
And do you do.

Speaker 5 (02:08:31):
Them, yeah they're good, roofs.

Speaker 8 (02:08:33):
SO i mean we we do push, them and we
do install, them but the amount of our customers who
actually buy them is really. Slim and just because that
barrier to entry is so. High with that, price.

Speaker 4 (02:08:43):
You get a discount on your. Insurance you know.

Speaker 8 (02:08:46):
What, no because the way that the roofing products work
is they have class you know, Two class, Three class,
four and these are class. Four but so we're asked
fall of. Shingles SO i, MEAN i believe personally they
should be a larger. Discount but because there isn't any
class five or class six roofing, shingles it doesn't get
any higher than a class, Four.

Speaker 4 (02:09:10):
Does that answer, You, David yeah it.

Speaker 18 (02:09:14):
DOES i was just impressed at the look of these,
things and you, know they were, saying, gosh you know they're.

Speaker 5 (02:09:21):
Indestructible yeah they.

Speaker 18 (02:09:23):
Are, yeah it's four times the. Cost it's, like, WELL
i don't have that much.

Speaker 8 (02:09:28):
Money but, YEAH i don't think they're going to see
a whole lot of these in the near future because
the builders they're certainly not putting any even class for
roofs on these new construction.

Speaker 4 (02:09:38):
Projects so class four is the best you can. Get,
yeah and this actually is better Than class, four it.

Speaker 8 (02:09:46):
Is but it still falls than that classification because the
company that tests these underwriters.

Speaker 5 (02:09:51):
LABORATORY i, mean.

Speaker 15 (02:09:52):
There isn't a class five. Designation and, so, yeah these
these things are. Bulletproof they're they're hard to, install they're
hard to get, here but they are definitely the closest
thing to hail proof.

Speaker 4 (02:10:03):
Available, Wow i'm so you're not willing to pay, more
but he says it's, wonderful and it's called Euro. Shield
look Online Field Rubber.

Speaker 5 (02:10:21):
Roofing, Yeah.

Speaker 8 (02:10:22):
Euroshield we have an article on it if you go
to excel roofing dot. Com we have an article that
goes over all the different benefits Of euroshield roofing and
the pros cons you, know.

Speaker 4 (02:10:34):
Cost the only thing that's con is the.

Speaker 5 (02:10:37):
Cost, YEAH i would say.

Speaker 8 (02:10:39):
That but then also it does kind of smell like
rubber for a little while after you install. It and
then also the installation can be somewhat tedious just because
that rubber is pretty thick and hard to cut. Through
so the labor cost is. Higher and, yeah it all
kind of boils down.

Speaker 4 (02:10:55):
To, cost and it is actually rubber it.

Speaker 8 (02:10:57):
Is, YEAH i believe it's like seventy percent recycled semi truck.
Tires and so the rubber content IS i believe close.

Speaker 4 (02:11:06):
To it is labor more to put it on, too.

Speaker 8 (02:11:08):
Yeah, yeah the guys they want more money for installation
of this. Stuff the supply is more. Difficult everything is more.

Speaker 4 (02:11:15):
Challenging but, Heavier, yeah it is.
