you're one of the guys that do it the right way.
You do it and you eat the food.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Don't eat it.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, and sometimes I leave tags unfilled, you know, if
I have if I've got a prong horn, a deer
in an elk. But we definitely won't go through three animals.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Deputy Deer. Are you a hunter at all? I know
you're an outdoorsman.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
I'm an outdoorsmund, but no, I've never hunted, don't hunt,
and don't have any intention to.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah, I don't hunt because I'm a chicken.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
I don't and I don't have. I have too much empathy.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Now, I'm not a hypocrite because I'm not against hunting,
especially people hunt for food, right. I'm against trophy hunting
person personally, absolutely, but I'm not going to judge anyone
who does it. But I love eating it that it's
the most pure food you can get. Although I hear, Jeff,
I hear that microplastics are showing up in freaking game, Well.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I wouldn't be surprised. I mean it's in the water system,
so you know they're ingesting the same water. We are God.

I go on your referral list to get something done
here at the house or personally, it always works out
really well. And this last time was with Dan McKenzie.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
McKenzie law he is he is such a good guy
and it's personalized attention.

Speaker 7 (03:17):
Yeah, it's excellent. I'm almost eighty and at this point
in my life I had to make some changes in
the estate situation that we had and this a third
time we've set this up, and Dan was incredible. His
whole team was wonderful. But the way he explained things
on my third time through this, it was with such

(03:40):
clarity that it made me feel much much more comfortable
than the prior to times. And now that I live
here in Colorado, everything is set up and ready to go.
And I'm just going to party for a while.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Hey, Ken, how is your health? That's every thing well.

Speaker 9 (04:01):
For the moment.

Speaker 7 (04:02):
It's very very good. Thank you. I had a little
scared in April, but yeah, things are doing fine now
and no restrictions, no projects. And I'm going on vacation tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Where are you going?

Speaker 7 (04:15):
Oh boy, I'm going to Vegas.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
Do you gamble?

Speaker 7 (04:19):
No, not at all.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Okay, Well, I'm catching up to you.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
You know, I'm going to be seventy two in September,
and you know, I just getting over my battle with cancer.
I'm on the last bit emo. But that oh wow,
And so I it's amazing. I just I've been blessed.
And people say, why do you say that, Tom, if
you got it, well, you know, I think this imperfect

(04:47):
world we live in environment you get all kinds of stuff.
But I truly was fortunate that it was. It was
a very I'm in the minority when it comes to
pancreatic cancer and Ken, nice talking to your brother and pleasure.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
Tom, And thank you again for the recommendations. Every time
I follow your list it works.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Out well for me.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
Thank you, brother. I appreciate it. Mary. Welcome to the show.

Speaker 10 (05:13):
So sorry you were about your illness. I had no idea.
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Well you know what the good news is. They tell
me I beat it and now I just have to
keep it beaten down with a stick.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
You know. I guess that's to stay healthy. So, Mary,
did Deputy Das here news for you?

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Okay, Deputy da is here. He's been working with you.
Go ahead.

Speaker 10 (05:36):
Yes, turns out everything that man called about at abel
was a lie as he got caught.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Is this the Caddie Deville? Is this the Cadillac Deville?
Is this the Cadillac Deville?

Speaker 10 (05:51):
It is? It turns out that the man doesn't even
have a title. I went to the courtouse.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Well hold on, now, what do you when you called them?
You said they're pretty damn good? Right, you got a
good feeling about them?

Speaker 10 (06:05):
Are they?

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Hold No?

Speaker 4 (06:07):
No, just wait a second, Mary, what d got a
good feeling about him?

Speaker 6 (06:11):
Right?

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah? I sure did. I spoke with guy who's the
owner of abel Otto, and he seems like a really
good open you know.

Speaker 8 (06:18):
Yeah, guy.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
But Mary says something about the police now being in.

Speaker 11 (06:21):
But Mary, I'm going.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
To ask you something first.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
First things first, did you lose the first?

Speaker 11 (06:27):
Mary?

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Just listen real quick. Did you lose the first title
they sent you.

Speaker 10 (06:32):
And they replaced in the court?

Speaker 8 (06:35):
Now okay, and uh, this is a.

Speaker 10 (06:39):
Problem about the man had lied when I called the
uh the elder abuse, they got right on it. And why?

Speaker 5 (06:50):
But tell me Mary, Mary, not getting a title is
not necessarily abuse.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
I need to know this. What are you doing with
the deal? Is he going to undo the deal? Or
are you going to get a title?

Speaker 12 (07:02):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (07:03):
The please turns out turns out there is no title.
I went to the courthouse as oh he did, or
ask one when you called about the abuse for.

Speaker 9 (07:17):
Old elder abuse.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Listen, this is not elder abuse. You're going a little
too far. Mary, Listen, here's the bottom line. There has
to be a title because you originally had a title
that you lost, so new one.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Okay?

Speaker 11 (07:33):
Are you going?

Speaker 5 (07:35):
This is a very simple question. Mary.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Are you going to keep the car and get the title?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Or are you the car's broken?

Speaker 4 (07:43):
She never, She doesn't even let me finish a freaking sentence.
I'm asking, did you return the car?

Speaker 10 (07:52):
The cars in my driveway?

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Are you going to return it?

Speaker 10 (07:57):
I have already talked to Yes, Yes, okay, return company's
coming after because it doesn't run, Nor.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
What happened to the car? Mary? That it's our d
that it doesn't run.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Do you know it's broken?

Speaker 10 (08:10):
It sound sounds like to the grocery store and oiled.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Mary, Mary, hang on, Hang on, Mary, Mary, Mary, hang
on a second.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
You know what?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Just put put her on hold for a second. I
want to have a discussion about this.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
D D.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
You looked into this. She lost the original title.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
The second one took a little time to replace, and
it still isn't done. But this is not elder abuse,
for God's sakes, I mean, you looked into this. We
get good feelings about things, and we know that there's
nothing hidden under a rock here.

Speaker 13 (08:39):
Well, the so you asked me what was wrong with
the car? It sounds like it was, unsurprisingly a huge
piece of junk. Jeff, it's a two thousand and three
Cadillact Deville, which doesn't sound like.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
A very durable automobile to begin with. But Tom, it
sounds like they're sending a tow truck to pick up
the car and undo the deal. Good and Mary, are
they gonna give you all your money back?

Speaker 5 (08:58):
I put her on hold.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
I put her on She should get her money back
if you don't let us know.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Mary, Okay, you hang in there.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Jeff's got a transmission question for Jeff at twenty twelve.
What Diesel Express van? They may they made diesel vans? Sure, okay,
so anyway, well Jeff was far between, but okay, Jeff.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
On the phone, Go ahead, sir, what is your question?

Speaker 6 (09:26):
Thanks?

Speaker 14 (09:27):
Thanks?

Speaker 15 (09:28):
My question is this is the twenty.

Speaker 8 (09:29):
Twelve and it's a Duramat.

Speaker 15 (09:31):
It doesn't have the Allison transmission behind it because the
Alison transmission that they put in the trucks doesn't fit
in the van, and so they put the six AL ninety,
which I'm sure you're gutting familiar with this transmission.

Speaker 6 (09:41):
They put the six AIL ninety behind this Duramat.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
How long have you had this, by the way.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
A year and a half.

Speaker 16 (09:48):
Yeah, and do you like it?

Speaker 15 (09:50):
When I What I'm worried about is do I service
it sooner than later? Do I buy it back up
for when the dance thing dies? Because evidently they're not
known for being that great of a transmission versus the
Allison and his opinion on that.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
As far as maintenance, yeah, I would recommend that you
you know, change that fluid every three years or thirty
six thousand miles. So make sure you're getting a filter when.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
You do that.

Speaker 15 (10:16):
Yeah, I did that, and I you know, I do
a lot of towing and camping. It's a four wheel
drive thing, and.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
So it's no fooling a four wheel drive diesel. How
many miles do you have on it?

Speaker 15 (10:27):
One hundred and thirty thousand, it's a yeah, foot wheel
drive Durmax diesel one ton, fifteen passengers, eighteen too long.
It's eight thousand pounds.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Fifteen passengers.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Why did you buy something for fifteen? Do you have
a big family?

Speaker 15 (10:43):
Well no, it was originally a fifteen passenger, but because
of its size.

Speaker 6 (10:48):
I put it just got a kitchen in a bed.

Speaker 15 (10:50):
And then oh, very cool, we're powered on the top
and very cool. I'm a big hunter and so it goes,
it goes everywhere with me, and so I'm just worried
about the longevity of this specific transmits.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
So any recommendations, Yeah, all he can really do is
just maintain the you know, maintain it. Like we were
just discussing, if yours has the thermal bypass on it,
whoever's actually doing the maintenance on that. If there is
a defeat valve that we can put inside there to
lower the temperatures and help extend the life on that too.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
So when will that transmission give out?

Speaker 8 (11:19):
Thank?

Speaker 1 (11:19):
You know, at that kind of mileage, it's anybody's guests
at this point. So we see quite a few of
them around that mileage.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
Well, Jeff Man, you're you're doing something right.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
And on a diesel, is it important as it is
with a gasoline car to keep that oil changed or
even more important?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah, just as important.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
So, Jeff, that is pretty cool. I would love for
you to send me a picture. I would love for
you to send me a picture of that. We have
to take this break on, Tom Martinez, I want to
tell you about water pros. We talked about plastic microplastics
showing up in game even and of course it's in
our drinking water. No matter what they tell you, municipal

Insurance Group three h three nine nine, six nine thousand, Michelle,

(13:27):
Welcome to the show. What is happening in your life?
What's going on? Michelle?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Hi, Yes, thanks so much for taking my call. Yes,
and listen every day. I was divorced October two or
September twenty nineteen, and my ex husband was an alcoholic
and he has not worked since twenty twenty two.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Oh my god too.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah, and so I did receive chr old support up
until January of twenty twenty two. He has not worked
since then.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Now, wait a minute, is he not? How is he living?
Or is he just not telling you how he's making money?
What's the real story?

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Well, the real story is is I can't really talk
to him. He's not quite right in the head right now.
Why not permanently? But anyway, we can't really communicate. But
he had from the divorce settlement, like I was able
to purchase the house, and then he had money from

(14:38):
his from working like for a one, keys and things
like that, so he might be living on that.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
Hey, Michelle, I need to ask a few questions. Was
he of means? Did he make good money? Tell me
about him?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah, I mean he did. He had a Yeah, I
think he had a pretty good job made. He made
somewhere around twenty five thousand a year. And yeah, and
his family, you know, had some money that they would
gift us once in a while, nothing crazy, but you know,
maybe fifteen thousand dollars here or there or whatever. And

(15:14):
that was very helpful too.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
But was it a lie?

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Was it a really bitter divorce or was this amicable?

Speaker 2 (15:21):
It was in between, because it was pretty sad because
he was an alcoholic. He kind of became an alcoholic,
and then during the divorce, you know, he had just
been in rehab and all that stuff, and you know,
it's just a very sad time.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Right, And so he hasn't worked since when officially he
has not worked since.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
When February of twenty twenty two.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
All right, so, what what is your call about today?
What can we help you with?

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Okay, So he has just gotten some inheritance. His mom died,
his dad passed away many about ten years ago. And
I'm not sure that that's a mount but from what
I gather, it's about between probably four and five hundred
thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
Oh my goodness, and I have.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Not received one penny.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Well, hold on, you got to take some action. Let
me explain something to you. Unpaid child support is a judgment.
You have to have it officially recorded against him and
you can collect that.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Now. Do you have a family law attorney? No?

Speaker 2 (16:30):
But the problem is I also literally do not have
any money. My house is on the market right now
to help pay for my kids schooling and because I've
had to pay for her.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
But but we might be able to get an attorney
who can take this on contingency, because truly, how much
does he owe you and back child support?

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Excuse me? Forty six thousand dollars?

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Okay, that's not that much compared to what he's getting.
You should have no problem doing that. So what I
want to know is, Okay, go ahead, and what were.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
You going to say?

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Say one thing? Super quick? I did go to the
Arapaho County Courthouse. I completed a form it's called JDS
one eight one three, which is the entry of the
port judgment.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Right, that's right? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:16):
Did it?

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Was it granted? Do you have a judgment?

Speaker 5 (17:19):
Now?

Speaker 2 (17:21):
I don't. I was going to drop it off today,
But my question is now we're on here to write
it because I have to send it to him, which
is going to to my ex husband. Theys this form.
It says to send him a copy, and it's going
to just like, you know, he's just going to freak
out and whatever. And what I'm worried about is not
really that so much. But it doesn't stay on here anywhere.

(17:43):
Is he employed? Does he worked? Is he of an inheritance?
Because he's going to say, well, I don't have job
oka kind of thing. I'm just concerned. I wish that
that there was a place on here that says is
there that I could even make a.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Note like, okay, listen what you need to do at
this point, I'm telling you you can get paid. There's
no doubt. First and foremost, I want to ask you something.
If this clown has all this money, is he willing
to just pay you? I mean, can he will he
just pay you? Can you talk to his family and

(18:22):
maybe his family can talk to him. His family probably
understands you're owed about fifty grand right?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Oh they don't they know everything?

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Yeah, I talked to you, But are they are they
friendly to you? Are they friendly to you?

Speaker 8 (18:35):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Very friendly?

Speaker 6 (18:37):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (18:37):
But they can't talk to him either.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
There's no well, well, okay, somebody's got to be able
to talk to him?

Speaker 5 (18:44):
What do you mean they can't?

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Like if you called him, literally called him or visited.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Him, and you said, now that you.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Got this inheritance, can I have the fifty grand?

Speaker 5 (18:55):
What would he say?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
No, yes, yeah, there's only one person who may be
But even then my ex husband, like I said, he
just do you.

Speaker 5 (19:09):
Want us to call? Do you want us to try
to reason with this man?

Speaker 6 (19:14):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Gosh, oh I cannot even imagine what he is?

Speaker 5 (19:18):
He violent? Is he nasty? What is he?

Speaker 8 (19:22):
Nasty?

Speaker 2 (19:23):
So nasty?

Speaker 5 (19:24):
How old is this guy? How old is he?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
It's fifty seven?

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Okay, look, you have to do something about this. You
cannot you cannot wait? I okay, a couple things, Katschina.
I don't care how long it takes during the show. Oh,
she's already called. You're so smart. I see your note.

(19:51):
You're you're already calling ahead, keep that up. But also,
do you have Frank Ball's number? The collection attorney? I
want to ask him. We tell him we have some
general questions here, okay, and let's see what he has
to say. Hold on, Michelle, and we're going to try
to help you one way or another. That this is

(20:11):

If he does anything.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
A quick question, Michelle, how was this inherited and how
did you know about it?

Speaker 5 (22:26):
Who? Where did he inherit it from?

Speaker 2 (22:30):
He inherited it from his family. His mom just passed away,
and so there's four other siblings, so between five of them,
they each got the inheritance. And I heard about the
amounts from two of his siblings. And then also I
think my middle son might have told me he's the

(22:52):
only one who speaks with my aunt's husband.

Speaker 5 (22:55):
Okay, would he be able to make an appeal or not?
Does he feel uncomfortable?

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh? Yeah, he has such a big heart, and I
think it.

Speaker 9 (23:06):
Would kill him.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
I don't know if I could ask him. I thought
about it.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
All right, Well, hold on and we'll try to get
someone for you. Three oh three seven one three eight
two five five. Jeff Thick is with us from Kimera
Transmission and they do other work as well, but that's
their forte. And I found this and and I I.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
Agree wholeheartedly with it.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
But this website called move it did a whole bunch
of surveys with mechanics, and they did SUV's mechanics.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
Would never own And Jeff, just I want you to guess,
give me some guessing of what you think might be
on that list. Hold on, you said, go ahead.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
I'd probably start with land Rover absolute lutely.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
Why.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
I wish I could use the sh word, but I can't.
Why are they such loads of manure?

Speaker 6 (24:09):
Why?

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Why? And everyone knows it. Everyone knows they're a beautiful
vehicle and for that, that's why they get away with it.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
For the first you know, forty fifty sixty thousand miles.
They drive wonderfully.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
No, but they're not trouble free. For they're not.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Trouble free, but they're a wonderful vehicle to drive.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
Not right, but no use of trouble.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
In fact, it's one of the highest for problems for
new cars in the first ten thousand miless. But what
you're saying is maybe the major stuff comes after forty fifty.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
They get really expensive effort.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
You know, if everyone knows there's such pieces of crap,
are people buying them just based on looks? I'll tell
you why. I do believe they are beautiful.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
They are, They're a beautiful car, and I think it
also has a status symbol that comes along with it.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
A status mean it's I have money and no brains.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Would be my opinion is, but I think they believe that. Yeah,
it makes them look better.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Does it surprise you that Escalade is on this list?

Speaker 1 (25:10):
No, it does not.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
Why is that?

Speaker 8 (25:11):
Now?

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Isn't an Escalator the Cadillac Bronco or not a Bronco,
a Blazer or a.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
To some suburban or whatever.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
To some extent, yes, I mean it's a General Motors product,
but similar to the European vehicles, they start feeling at
early mileage, they start having major mechanical problems. You were
talking to.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
This they say one of the big problems with the
escalade is heat and suspension.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
And they say that the finishing trim inside is pretty nice,
but they don't perform.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Even that finishing trim starts falling apart, it starts cracking,
it starts rattling.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
Hey, by the way, Deputy d you came up with
an idea for that divorce case. Can you give that
to Kitchina? And is that someone that we had on
the show before.

Speaker 13 (25:58):
So you may recall my I had Paul Faglia, my
friend Paul Faglia, who's a recently retired divorce attorney with
a couple.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Of decades of experience.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
So you know him.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Yeah, I've known him for me. I remember that you
actually had him. You know, we had a call with him.

Speaker 8 (26:10):
I remember that.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
I'm texting his information to Kelly to.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
See and maybe give him a heads up, see if
he can come on. All right, so you know the
thing anyway, it's just well, we do have Frank ball on.
Oh great, he's a he's a fabulous collection attorney.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Just bring him right up, I can, I can talk
to him.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Frank always nice to talk to you, and I often
once said Frank, there should be a group or an
attorney or a practice that has a division that helps
women collect child support. I just want to give you
a rundown on this case and see what you think

(26:55):
she should do. Michelle is owed back child support around
fifty grand now her husband's alcoholic, bab blah about her ex.
So Michelle went, and what's the form you filled out?

Speaker 5 (27:08):
Michelle?

Speaker 2 (27:11):
It is the.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
Right here? Okay.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
It is the form that transfers into a judgment.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Right. What is it called?

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Yeah, and it basically turns the child's support into a judgment.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Right, Yes, it's called andrew support judgment.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
Okay, So she did that, and we're going to assume
she has a judgment.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
But here's what happened.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
Her ex, who is a deadbeat alcoholic, just inherited how
much Michelle.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Probably between from what I heard, four tousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Now, Frank, what does she do? How does she because
there's no way this guy's going to get around this.

Speaker 17 (28:02):
Well unless she hides the money, unless he spends the money. Yeah,
the money is in a bank account where you can
take the money where the judgment. Much times it's easier
said than done.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Okay, So if this is public that there was probate
and he got the money and the family Michelle, no
one denies it. He got the money, So Frank, I
would think that is it would be easier. I mean,
is it something she is broke? Is there anything she

(28:42):
can do on her own with this judgment?

Speaker 8 (28:49):
Do you have any idea where he bank?

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Michelle?

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Would you have any idea about his bank or anything
like that?

Speaker 18 (28:57):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Yeah, I have all of this banking information.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
How did you wait? How did you get that?

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Because he instead of going to the child support registry
for the first two years, he just would transfer money
into my account from his accounts.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Okay, Frank, she has that. What does what does she do?
If she has that?

Speaker 17 (29:20):
You go online and you get the form for a
bank levy and it's in the district where whatever district
court it is. It would be in that website, and
then you sew it out basically because you have the
judgment now and so it says the forum basically says yeah,

(29:43):
he owes fifty thousand dollars as of this date, plus
he os x amount of interest since the date and
so he owes as much money and then the court
will will basically or I don't.

Speaker 8 (29:59):
Want say order, but the court uh stamps it.

Speaker 17 (30:03):
And then you take it to the sheriff, and then
the sheriff will serve the bank. And then if there
is any money on the in the account, that money
will be frozen or or or held.

Speaker 8 (30:17):
In a separate trust account or.

Speaker 17 (30:21):
At the bank.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Wait, can I ask a quick question?

Speaker 5 (30:25):
Sure that I have?

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Oh? Thank you. The question that I have is, of
course I have the original judgment or from the original
separation and then divorce decree, separation agreement. I have not
turned in this the entry of support judgment yet because
I wanted to.

Speaker 8 (30:45):
Make sure we'll turn it in.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Turn it in, okay, because when I get the judgment, then.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
I do well, Frank, Frank, go ahead, what were you
going to say?

Speaker 17 (30:55):
You could do it at the same time online and
fill out the it's called the bank levee. Then go
to the court fill out the form for the judgment,
and then the court will order the judgment in the levee.
And then as I said.

Speaker 8 (31:15):
Go to the sheriff, have him serve the levee.

Speaker 17 (31:17):
As soon as possible, and if there's money in that account,
that account will be frozen to the tune of the
money of the judgment.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
Now, okay, let's just say he doesn't have it in
the bank. What you said something about spending it or something.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
If he spends it or if he tries to hide it,
is there an interrogatory she can do with the judgment
to find out where it is.

Speaker 17 (31:43):
Of course, at that point in time, you want to
look at uh again in the forum bank, at the
district court. The interrogatories it's called.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
Non pattern interrogatories.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
Oh, now we are there collection attorneys. Now, I want
everyone to know Frank is the best collection attorney I
ever met. But he does a lot of large commercial
accounts and all that, and I you know so, But
I want to ask you in general in the industry,
are there collection attorneys that would do anything on a contingency?

Speaker 17 (32:20):
Yes, And if it's a child support ordered, it's it's
capped in terms of an amount of the contingency fee.
So I mean, if it was just a regular collection judgment,
you can find lawyers who want fifty and you can.

Speaker 8 (32:39):
Find lawyers who want thirty.

Speaker 17 (32:41):
Percent, right, And that I think is cap he has
capped a twenty eight percent or thirty percent.

Speaker 8 (32:46):
I apologize, I can't recall.

Speaker 17 (32:48):
You don't have that tattooed on my body anywhere.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (32:52):
That there?

Speaker 17 (32:53):
Of course, you'd go collection lawyers and you start calling
and say hey, I've got and they.

Speaker 8 (33:00):
Can even do the judgment. But you can say I
have a judgment.

Speaker 17 (33:04):
The bank iurnishment the bank levey didn't work out, and
now could you issue some inerogatories or take the case.
And you know, if you get thirty percent, that's pretty good.
I'm fifty thousand dollars if they can do it quickly.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
All right, Frank, thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
Michelle, listen, leave your contact information and we'll also send
you along anything to China.

Speaker 5 (33:26):

And hey, Mike wants to talk about capital gains Samuel
for Samuel, would you call Jeff up at city Lock, Kelly,
He's at city Lock. He's on a referral.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
List, and his name is Jeff, and he might help
us with Sam's problem right now.

Speaker 5 (36:30):
Mike, what's going on with you, sir? You want to
talk capital gains.

Speaker 19 (36:34):
Yes, if the sale of your house, if the capital
gains tax on the sale of your house is dictated
by how long you've lived in it, how do you
offset that or delete that tax when you buy the
next house?

Speaker 4 (36:53):
Okay, first and foremost it when you say it, it's
determined by the length of time you lived in your house.
The only time that matters is between short term capital
gains and long term. But with a primary residence, really
the primary residence is two of the past five years, okay.

(37:15):
So in order for it to be a primary residence
and get the exclusion of capital gains on a personal residence,
it has to be your personal residence, and the rule
on that is.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
Two of the past five years.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
So if you're selling a house, if you lived in
it for two of the previous year of five years.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
Then you get the exclusion.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
If you're a single taxpayer filing single just by yourself,
you get a two hundred and fifty thousand dollars exclusion,
so you don't pay tax on any capital gains until
they go over two hundred and fifty thousand. If you're
a married couple who files jointly, you enjoy a five

(37:59):
hundred thousand dollar exclusion for your primary residence. Now, what
I don't understand is your question about the next house.

Speaker 5 (38:07):
Clarify that for me.

Speaker 19 (38:09):
Well, I was told that if I sell my house where.

Speaker 6 (38:14):
I've lived ten years and I buy the next house
to live in.

Speaker 8 (38:22):
That I can. They use the term rollover to sync
up the sea.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
But yeah, but you don't have to because unless you're
going to make more, are you filing jointly or alone?

Speaker 8 (38:34):
I haven't filed at all.

Speaker 5 (38:37):
No, I'm not talking about now, I'm talking about in general.
Do you file taxes as an individual or as a couple.

Speaker 19 (38:44):
I don't file because I'm a senior and I have.

Speaker 8 (38:47):
No taxical income.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Okay, Okay, So Mike, the answer is you have no
capital gains until you go over the exclusion. I'm going
to ask you again, though, if you did file, would
it be as an individual or as.

Speaker 17 (39:06):
A couple as a single one?

Speaker 4 (39:09):
Okay, so you have two hundred and fifty thousand before
your tax. But and it doesn't matter if you buy
another house, you're still going to pay the tax on anything.
Above two hundred and fifty thousand.

Speaker 8 (39:26):
And what now me, We'll say you can roll it over.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
Well, rolling it over is an expression used for a
ten thirty one exchange, right, okay, do you know what
a ten thirty one exchanges?

Speaker 8 (39:40):
Well, just that it's used for this subject.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yes, and it's only for it's not for primary residences. Wait,
because I want to know this this. You know, I've
actually never had this question. I'm just looking at their website.
The irs a ten thirty one exchange. Let me explain
it to you, and it does not apply to a

(40:06):
primary residence.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
Okay, So, in other words, if you're talking about your.

Speaker 4 (40:10):
Primary residence, there is no rolling over anything. You can
spend every dime of it. You can make more, you
can make less, you can buy another house. They're totally
independent transactions, and there is no rolling over. There is
no ten thirty one exchange for a commercial property. Let's
say you have rental home, and your rental home. I'm
going to use stupid numbers to make it easy. So

(40:32):
you bought it for one hundred, you sold it for
two hundred, and you had a one hundred thousand dollars gain.
If you buy another property worth more than that. We're
worth more than two hundred, and you roll over all
of your profit into the next house. You can do

(40:52):
that without tax consequences because it keeps accumulating tax deferred.
You can do ten thirty one exchanges for another property,
but it has to be more money and you have
to roll your profits into it. Now, that's a really
just a really brief description of ten thirty one's because

(41:15):
because they are very complicated, and basically, what a ten
thirty one exchange is on the technical side is a
trade for a house that's more expensive, and that's when
you have to worry about rolling over. You do not
have to worry ever about rolling over for a primary residence.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
So question on that though, Yeah, I take that's same
hundred thousand dollars instead of putting the you know, the
whole hundred thousand dollars down on the new house. Right,
So you put seventy thousand dollars down on the new
house because you knew you needed thirty thousand dollars in
repairs to get the house up to snuff. Would that
still have the same Yes?

Speaker 4 (41:48):
Yes, yes, All they care about is the price of
the house. It's got to be more than your previous one.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
But wu the thirty thousand also be excluded from that.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
Well, yeah, it's not excluded. It's theoretically being put in.
But you're just borrowing it because you're or you're not
using it but or you're using it for something else.

Speaker 5 (42:06):
They don't care what you do with your profit.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
When we say roll it to the next house, it's
a theoretical rolling in for a more expensive house. You
don't have to literally put the money down and let
us sit there, but it is. It's called a ten
thirty one exchange.

Speaker 20 (42:22):
And yes, sir, so to clear this, if I fill
my house for one hundred and I buy the next
house for one hundred and ten.

Speaker 19 (42:35):
Or fifty, I still don't have to worry about taxes.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Right, do you understand what I just said about this
is your primary residence. You don't have to worry about
taxes anyway.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
You don't have to.

Speaker 4 (42:50):
It doesn't matter if you buy another house, if you
go to Vegas, or if you do buy another house,
it doesn't matter. The taxes are figured on one house
and one house alone. If you make more than your
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, exclusion on your primary residence.
Let's say you make a profit of three hundred thousand,

(43:12):
you would subtract two fifty and you would pay taxes
on fifty thousand dollars. It doesn't matter if you buy
another house or not. You cannot avoid taxes on your
primary residence above the exclusion.

Speaker 5 (43:28):
You can't.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
It doesn't matter if you buy another house. I don't
know where you got this thought of having to buy
another house.

Speaker 5 (43:34):
You don't have to.

Speaker 4 (43:36):
Every primary resident purchase is stands on its own. So
if you have a house for one hundred and you
sell it for two hundred, you don't do anything because
you're under the two hundred and fifty.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
Thousand dollars exclusion.

Speaker 4 (43:49):
If you go over the two hundred and fifty thousand
dollars exclusion, there's no way around it, whether you buy
another house or not.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Does that make sense to you?

Speaker 20 (43:58):
Yes?

Speaker 19 (43:59):
I only asked that because when in your previous explanation
you repeated buying another house.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
But that was because we were then talking about commercial
property or rentals. That's a different ballgame than primary residences.
Primary residences are not subject to ten thirty one exchanges,
and for some reason, people believe that primary residences I

(44:28):
can are are you they have to buy another house
to not pay taxes and that's absolutely not true? All right,

simply a key?

Speaker 12 (46:23):
I'll take either one right which. I've tried a dozen
locksmiths and they can't help me. They don't carry the
machine that it takes to cut the nachas in the key.

What is that? That's odd?

Speaker 4 (47:04):
So what's the story on replacement keys for older cars?
Why is he having trouble finding someone to cut a
two thousand and six Chrysler Crossfire key?

Speaker 16 (47:14):
Well, because it's a Mercedes.

Speaker 5 (47:19):
But what does that mean? Do they not allow you
to cut keys?

Speaker 16 (47:22):
No, that means the Chrysler dealer isn't going to be
able to help, and Mercedes doesn't have these keys anymore.
Now I might have the whole modge. Go ahead, Samuel.

Speaker 12 (47:38):
I went to Mercedes. Ben they couldn't help me. They
don't have the He just said that. So let's let
Jeff finish.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
Jeff in a short question here and a hope short answer.

Speaker 5 (47:49):
Can you do one of these keys?

Speaker 16 (47:50):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (47:52):
Good?

Speaker 4 (47:53):
So there you go, Samuel, City, Lock and Boulder can
do it?

Speaker 6 (47:58):
Okay, I need your phone number or a sure.

Speaker 5 (48:01):
I'm going to give that to you.

Speaker 21 (48:02):
Any city.

Speaker 4 (48:04):
Okay, I'm going to give that to you. But I
want to ask Jeff something else. Jeff, what about key fobs?
We talk about keys? What what does it take? Let's
just say with my BMW or his christ or maybe
it matters. But let's just say, I wonder do you
go to the manufacturer for the key fob?

Speaker 6 (48:24):
No?

Speaker 16 (48:25):
Not usually?

Speaker 5 (48:27):
What would you do?

Speaker 16 (48:28):
That would depend on I'm making a model. There's some
specific incidents where we do, but generally we use a
new aftermarket pot. We don't use refurbished parts because you
have unknown providence. We don't know what went wrong with them,
and you have.

Speaker 5 (48:45):
To program it to the specific car.

Speaker 16 (48:47):
Right, Yeah, and I have various programming equipment for working
on various products for the Mercedes as Showman has. It's
very specific. There's no OEM anymore. All the information we
have is that Mercedes doesn't do it anymore. It's not
that they don't want to. The supply chain got messed

(49:08):
up on that part. I've heard different stories. I don't
know which one is true. But that also applies to
the G Wagon, the older ones, and it applies to
the Sprinters and a lot of others, the SL class,
the G class, the S class, SLK, A lot of
the stuff from like nineteen ninety six up to about

(49:30):
twenty twelve, a lot of the stuff in that time period. Now,
what he'd be getting is a fob. It's a remote
headed key, it's a flip key. It'll look much like
the factory one.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
Okay, after market Okay, about what do they cost?

Speaker 16 (49:48):
That will run him about five hundred dollars for the
first one and about two hundred and fifty dollars feet additional.

Speaker 4 (49:54):
Wow, that they have changed a lot, haven't they because
of the electronics in the programming.

Speaker 16 (50:00):
I'll call a Hunday jail around a late model Hunday
and find out what for a Hyundai what they caused
about the same.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
Wow, this is up there.

Speaker 16 (50:09):
I could do for Lexus for way left.

Speaker 5 (50:13):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (50:14):
And are there any keys that are just not available anymore?

Speaker 16 (50:21):
Yeah, you can get into some old sobs, but there
will be an aftermarket for it.

Speaker 6 (50:28):
It'll be very okay.

Speaker 16 (50:29):
People that can do it though.

Speaker 4 (50:30):
Yeah, I'm telling people, but they have a treasure. Again,
he doesn't have a mobile van that goes around. But
if you need locksmith's services, you're not going to do
any better than Jeff is city lock. Now here's his number.
You asked for us, and he's in Boulder. What's your
address up there, Jeff?

Speaker 16 (50:47):
We're at two eight nine eight thirtieth Street. That's at
thirtieth in Valmont. We're right next door to Big O Tires. Okay,
we have our own parking out front, so there's no

Speaker 4 (51:00):

forty four oh seven three oh three.

Speaker 16 (51:09):

Speaker 5 (51:13):
Oh what's that?

Speaker 16 (51:15):
We do mobile service, but not for something like.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
Oh okay, I get you Okay, yeah, call first and

I'm feeling the best I can under the circumstances, which
means I am.

Speaker 5 (52:19):
You know, I'm doing great.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
But the chemo that I had to have after surgery,
I have to have a few more, and that just
knocks the hell out of you. You always feel like
you're walking around with a bit of a flu. But
thank you for asking. And the good news is good.
The good news is I'm cancer free. So that's that,
you know, I still thank God for that. So anyway,

(52:42):

Speaker 6 (54:14):
Yes, sir, and I have eighteen beers, including a new
bourbon it's a Bourbon al and I got a Zombie Jam.
I did a fortieth anniversary the beer that put me
on the map in the middle eighties with Zombie Jam
what was called something differently done, But I did a
version of that, A special, really good version of fortieth
anniversary Zombie Jam that is on tap tomorrow. And you

(54:37):
know I want you know, I want you to fill
your your Bruceffstein.

Speaker 4 (54:41):
Okay, Steve, I want to ask you something. I want
to ask you something. What's the weird two questions now,
and listen carefully. The weirdest brew flavor whatever? You know
how you have all those different flavors.

Speaker 5 (54:54):
What's the weirdest when.

Speaker 4 (54:55):
You did that flopped? And the weirdest one you did
that took off?

Speaker 6 (55:01):
Okay, that's an easy answer for that, tom Do you
ever hear of like a green thumb for a gardener?

Speaker 5 (55:09):
Yes, you know the term.

Speaker 6 (55:11):
I have a gold thumb. I call it. I so
far knock on wood. I have not brewed a bad
batch in the early eighties up until now. Everybody loves
my beer. I guess if I did, I would throw
it out. I wouldn't sell it, so I'd say anything
plumped now, the weirdest one sour puss. It's a German

(55:32):
don't call wise and German beer. It isn't al, but
it tastes a lot like a lager. It's all German
hops in malt and it has a little bit of
blueberry in it, so it's a The beer is black
when you pour. When you pour the beer, it's black.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (55:49):
But it's it's really light tasting. It tastes really light
and it's actually low alcohol.

Speaker 5 (55:56):
Now.

Speaker 4 (55:56):
I had ginger beer, which is and it was an
alcoholic the other day, and I love the taste of.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
That ginger beer.

Speaker 4 (56:04):
Do you ever do a regular beer that has that
ginger flavor?

Speaker 6 (56:09):
That is something I'm going to do because my wife
loves ginger and so that's something that I'm gonna do
and I'll probably I'll put her put her picture on
it or something. Yeah, she loves ginger. So that is
on my list.

Speaker 5 (56:22):
Very cool. Okay, so rock and roll, it's rock.

Speaker 4 (56:25):
You can put it in any way one but rock
with the letter n roll, rockenroll dot beer.

Speaker 5 (56:32):
You can find out all about it.

Speaker 4 (56:33):
He's got about eighteen tickets left, eighteen to twenty and
they're gonna go fast.

Speaker 5 (56:38):
We got more right after this.

Speaker 4 (56:47):

your troubleshooter three O three seven one three eight two

(57:29):
five five.

Speaker 5 (57:30):
Whatever's on your mind, give us a call. It is
car Day today.

Speaker 4 (57:33):
We've been talking cars, SUVs.

Speaker 5 (57:36):
Vans, and uh.

Speaker 4 (57:38):
I had this list of ones mechanics would never own.

Speaker 5 (57:43):
And I don't think it's to anyone's.

Speaker 4 (57:45):
Surprise that the range Rover or the land Rover is
on the top of the list of things not to buy.
But everybody buys them. Not everybody, but people love them.
I mean I even know people that I respect the
bottom and I don't know why they bought them. I think, listen,
why are you owning this? You know it's a piece

(58:08):
of crap. It is a beautiful vehicle, and I don't
know where it got its cachet from. I have no
idea why it even has cachet. Why does it have status?
Is it because it's expensive? I mean, that's what's weird.
The Cadillac Escalades also one mechanics say they would never own,

(58:28):
and then number three on the list, the BMW's the
X five. But also the other exes are not much better.
While the luxury you can feel it. The transmissions are
known to fail. I didn't know that, Jeff.

Speaker 5 (58:43):
Would you say, so are the transmissions on Beamer's week.

Speaker 1 (58:48):
There were once again, I mean the over engineer or everything.
Too many moving parts. So yeah, they go down, and
when they do, they're very very appresced.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
They say they're cooling systems are bad and they have
very expensive repairs. Now my X seven has about thirty
three thousand miles on it right now, or thirty two.
It's a twenty two with thirty two, and I know
it's going to be a money pick. I just feel it,

(59:16):
and it is beautiful. It is a beautiful, driving, comfortable car.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
It's like driving a couch on a cloud.

Speaker 4 (59:23):
Yeah, but it I'm told by everyone I'm going to
be hit with some expensive bills.

Speaker 5 (59:29):
It just came off of warranty, I think it did.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
Yeah, So because I'm getting the notices, you know that
I can do an extended warranty blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (59:39):
Well, hey, I'm going to derail you right there, since
you said the word extended warranty.

Speaker 6 (59:43):
Right.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
So, I've been dealing with extended warranty companies for eons, right,
and you know I generally have very good success for
the customer and everything else. I actually have a problem
with an extended warranty company of my own right now.

Speaker 5 (59:55):
What does that mean?

Speaker 1 (59:57):
Well, I did a job for a customer. We went
through his warranty Cupmpany, Okay, they gave me all the
proper authorizations. Customer gave me an authorization for his deductible
and the residual amount that they weren't going to cover.
Customer comes in, picks up the car. When we're done,
signs it off, and I submit the paperwork to the
warranty company for the final payment. Well, the amount that
they authorized and the amount that they paid, there was

(01:00:19):
an eight hundred dollars deficit.

Speaker 5 (01:00:21):
Wait, they rise than they actually paid.

Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
Correct when they actually sent payment. Why I'm nearly I'm
trying to get to the bottom of it, and they're
not being very helpful.

Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
I can't if you don't have on your invoice you
should what health what health providers have and you know
what that says. If your insurance for some reason doesn't pay,
you're responsible. I mean you can't be held responsible or
you can't take a loss because the warranty company screwed.

Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
Right, No, one hundred percent. And you know the customer,
I mean he had a pretty large portion that yield anyway,
had the other eight hundred dollars if they decided they
did not want to pay, he would have paid it.
So I had no problem with the customer. I'm trying
to get. No, I'm a company for Phillips obligation, and I'm.

Speaker 5 (01:01:02):
I shouldn't the customer do that, is what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Well, I could reach I haven't actually burdened the customer
with that yet. I was good. I wanted to talk
to Dmitri because but.

Speaker 4 (01:01:10):
They gave you no reason for giving you an approval
and then paying and.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
Then pain less. They said they were only going to
pay of the company it's fidelity warranty and how you
dealt with them in the past I have, and this
seems to be a new strategic maneuver of theirs.

Speaker 4 (01:01:23):
I wonder if they try to pay just enough so
you don't bother.

Speaker 13 (01:01:28):
It's just you know what's amazing is day and day
out we hear about these aftermarket auto warranties really screwing
the consumer all day every day, and now they've shifted
that same technique to the mechanics with whom they work.

Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
I don't know how widespread it is.

Speaker 5 (01:01:45):
I would definitely like I say I would. I would
say to my.

Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Customers, look, we'll submit it, but you're responsible for it.
I mean, there's nothing unreasonable about that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
Well, I had no choice of I had a customer
immediately after that, and hers was a much smaller repair,
so it wasn't too hard for her to pay it
out of pocket. But there's a provision in a warranty
where they will reimburse the consumer themselves as opposed to
sending it to me. So I had her and I
got all the authorizations. I gave her the authorization and

(01:02:17):
she paid me in full, And now she's got the
burden of actually collecting from them.

Speaker 5 (01:02:21):
Yeah, it is. It is a pain in the ass.

Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
These companies will do almost anything to get out of
paying or to short change people. What's the best warranty
company you've dealt with.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
I've never had a problem with GE, so I've always
had good success with them.

Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
The General Electric what do they call it? What do
they brand new?

Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
It's actually called a GE warranty. I actually even have
a plaque on behind my desk. I'm a preferred provider.

Speaker 5 (01:02:51):
Really, So like, when can you buy one anytime?

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Yeah? I would assume you could probably reach out and
buy from them direct. But yeah, most of the time
I've ever seen them, they've come from.

Speaker 5 (01:03:02):
They want an inspection of vehicle first.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
U don't know what the procedure is outside consumer just
going to buy it on their own.

Speaker 5 (01:03:12):
And is it usually offered when you buy a car.

Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Yeah, that's generally when you would see that offered.

Speaker 5 (01:03:17):
Okay, So on these SUVs that people.

Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
Don't like our mechanics, they say, the G Wagon, the
Mercedes g Wagon, they say, they say that people are
deeply committed to owning them, but they start rattling apart
and leaking oil.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Oh yeah, they don't like a Harley Davison, they just
leave their market everywhere.

Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
That's something. So that engine, I mean to to chase
oil leaks? Do you even bother? Do you even bother?

Speaker 4 (01:03:49):
When when it comes to older engines that start leaking oil?
Is there a gasket you can replace? Is there any
one thing? Or is it just all over?

Speaker 5 (01:03:57):
You know?

Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
Chasing leaks is always it's an event, sure because obviously
fluid drains down. Yeah, So you start with the word
where you find the fluid, whether it's engine oil, lacon to,
whatever the case might be, at its highest highest point,
and you fix that leak, get everything cleaned up, and
then as the customers going down the road, if the
leak's still manifesting itself, you look for the one that's
down below it, because they will mask other leaks.

Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
God and gaskets are the name of the game. I
mean that's really what else is there?

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
Gaskets and seals?

Speaker 13 (01:04:27):
Yeah, if is there any point to now that Tom's
car is about to start developing leaks?

Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Is there any point?

Speaker 5 (01:04:33):
Thank you very much? Well, I mean, well, the probably.

Speaker 13 (01:04:37):
Have reputation starting at what about forty thousand miles that's here,
and you're knocking on that door. So what about like
all the various gasket conditioners that you add to the.

Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
Never that's funny you bring that up. There is also
something I wanted to know something about. Okay, keep going.

Speaker 13 (01:04:57):
Keep in mind, I'm not I'm not I'm not suggesting
stop weak of anything like that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
But the gasket conditioners, it's just another variation of a
stop leak conditioner in there, and eventually you're just going
to make your own problem.

Speaker 5 (01:05:09):
Well have you ever heard of this?

Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
Somebody texted me about a head gasket repair in a bottle?

Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
What the hell is that?

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
Like that blue Devil garbage. Anytime you get a repair
out of a bottle, it's snake oil. It's it's saying no, Well,
it may work for short term, but your problems are
going to be worse when it might remanifest the film.

Speaker 13 (01:05:30):
Well, not only that, but don't you take a risk
with that gunk plugging up the water passages, the coolant
passages in the engine.

Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Well, if you're using something like a stop leak for coolant,
there was only one product out there I would recommend,
and it's from the company we're all familiar with, which
is BG Okay, and it's it's literally just a woodpulp.

Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
So, but I can't believe they're They're marketing is head
gasket repair in a bottle They poured into the radiator
and then it will seal your head gas.

Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
They also have products out there they call transmissions in
a Can, and I mean literally they want you to
pour it in there and they claim it'll fix problems.

Speaker 4 (01:06:05):
And anyway, some people are swearing by the others are saying,
you know, you're not going to fix the warped head.
They're not wrong, yeah, unless it's really minor. Anyway, we
got more coming up on the Troubleshooter Show. One clear
choice garage door. Since we're talking about cars. They are
the schiznets. When I'm allowed to say this isnts right,

(01:06:28):
they are the shisiness when it comes to garage doors.

Speaker 5 (01:06:30):
They do them all. They do any kind of a door.

Speaker 4 (01:06:33):
They're factory authorized for most of them, which other companies
are not. These are not just not just a guy
in his tools in a van. This is a well
oiled machine. This company will do a complete garage door overhauls,
grush or parts.

Speaker 5 (01:06:48):

We're gonna we're gonna get rid of it and put

For what I'm that's what I'm hearing.

So I'm thinking along the lines of a.

CRV you or a WRAP four.

Speaker 5 (01:08:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (01:08:34):
What do you think?

Speaker 5 (01:08:36):
Guys, let's chime in, what do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
They're both pretty comparable vehicles as far as that's concerned.
You know, as a CRV crossover to the Toyota, you'll
probably get more for your money out of the CRV
because Toyota is going to have a much better perceived value.

Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
But if you had to pick a one all around SUV,
what would it be? That's hard to say. WHOA, Yeah,
we're going to discuss. We'll discuss this if you hang
on or you can listen, we'll discuss this coming up
after the break.

Speaker 5 (01:09:05):

house solving your problems, answering your questions, taking your complaints,
and trying to make.

Speaker 5 (01:10:20):
Your life a little easier.

Speaker 4 (01:10:21):
We're talking cars today, but anything else you call in about,
and we've had some interesting calls. Jeff had a Chevy
Diesel Express van with one hundred and thirty thousand miles.
He wanted recommendations on maintenance.

Speaker 5 (01:10:33):
And then we have Michelle. Listen to this. She has.

Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
Her ex is unemployed, but just inherited about five hundred
thousand and owes her about.

Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
Fifty in child support.

Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
We talked about collecting child support. I'm going to put
together a step by step guide as I did for
the warranty of Habitability Act, and I'm working on getting
a site available that'll have all of these.

Speaker 5 (01:11:01):
PDFs to download.

Speaker 4 (01:11:03):
I think it's very very important and it's one of
my projects.

Speaker 5 (01:11:08):
Step by step guide.

Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
So you take the child support, you reduce it to
a judgment. Then you go out and do levees on
bank accounts, or you do interrogatories that they must answer
or they're in contempt of court.

Speaker 5 (01:11:25):
There are ways to collect child support.

Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
Then we had this is this spurred to discussion a
recommendation on buying an suv. So many SUVs are turning
out to be disappointing at the thirty, at the forty
to fifty thousand mile mark. Now some people might say,
what difference does it make?

Speaker 5 (01:11:50):
Get rid of it by then, But.

Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Like this one website came up with the ones not
to buy, and right at the top of their is
the range Rover or the land Rover.

Speaker 5 (01:12:02):
Anything they make.

Speaker 4 (01:12:04):
And then we have also the Cadillac Escalade which surprised me,
and the BMW's X Series and the Mercedes BEng Class
with says like the g Wagon.

Speaker 5 (01:12:16):
I loved my g Wagon.

Speaker 4 (01:12:18):
I love the way it drove and being up high,
but it started being a maintenance nightmare. Then the GEP
brand Cherokee is on this list for bad the Audies.

Speaker 5 (01:12:30):
What the hell is there?

Speaker 4 (01:12:31):
Chevrolet Traversus, Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Explorer, Toyota, Dodge Durango.

Speaker 5 (01:12:39):
I mean, come on, what is a good SUV? Really?

Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
If you going to buy an suv, would it be
maybe the Honda Passport. I mean, that's not on any
bad list.

Speaker 5 (01:12:50):
What guys, what do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
Passport's a decent vehicle? The Pilot's a decent vehicle. We
see a few of those as far as the transmission
industry is concerned. How about ubrew jugs? Yeah, you know,
I mean I like SuPAR U. Actually, uh, they have
their problems too. They're actually known for head problems. They are, yes,
they are known for head problems. But you know, if
I was in a market where I was buying a
family sev uh and didn't need the extra space of

(01:13:15):
the some of the larger ones like the Highlander that
you mentioned earlier of super would probably be on my list.

Speaker 4 (01:13:21):
You know, I'm thinking we let's think ev the X,
the Tesla Model X. Now Mark and Zeus has just
got one. That's a beautiful vehicle. It's an suv. You
get it in all wheel drive.

Speaker 5 (01:13:38):
I mean, it's a pretty damn good vehicle.

Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
As long as they fit. It fits with whatever your
commuting standards are going to be. I mean, if you're
you know, something that you got to drive cross country
on a regular basis is probably not going to be
the best one to get.

Speaker 5 (01:13:50):
Yeah, but not many people do that anymore. What about
let's talk you know what what about jeeps? What about
a Rubicon? I mean, oh, they having a huge problem
was with those? Oh really?

Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
Oh yes?

Speaker 5 (01:14:02):
So what are the problems with Jeeps?

Speaker 1 (01:14:03):
Well, primarily the biggest one that we are plagued with
is the stick shift models because they've got problems with
the clutches overheating to the point that they have actually
set vehicles on fire. Now, Jeep does not have an
actual viable fix for you. So what they've been doing
having customers come in and they've actually been putting in
programming so when it recognizes the temperature in that bell

(01:14:24):
housing exceeding normal standards, they actually reduced the passage or
all of the it's the scramblers, the Saharas. Yeah, so
if any of them with the stick shift models in them, yes,
shift stick shifts right, So a lot of people they're
in Jeep. That's probably one of the more popular brands
that you'll see is stick shift.

Speaker 4 (01:14:43):
In Really, who would ever bother doing very very transmission
at this time in our lives.

Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
I knew one guy that had nine thousand miles on
it and he'd already put three clutches in it, so
till he finally went to the aftermarket for a performance clutch,
and the best as I know, he's still out there
doing fine.

Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
So the question is what suv is there? What talk
about it? I mean, guys call me with your ideas
for some of the best SUVs out there. I always
thought GM would be relatively trouble free. My Blazer used
to be wonderful. I had a suburban I loved.

Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
Have they changed for the most Well, yeah, I know
there's definitely been changes, but I wouldn't say we're sitting
uptick in failures and in Miami stretch of the imagination.

Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
But value wise, when you compare it to the prices
of others, it's a pretty good value.

Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
Oh yeah, and you know, I don't know about easier
Oh no, no, I mean they're all pretty mid road
as far as that's concerned. You know, when you're talking
to somebody like myself or somebody like Kevin, we can
take any one of these cars and pick them apart.
So we're a little bit jaded in every shing.

Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
But that's what I want to hear.

Speaker 4 (01:15:53):
Okay, what about the uh okay, what about the Toyota
land Cruiser.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
The land Cruise just a decent vehicle. You know, our
fore Runner? I would you know four Runner probably right
up there with the land Cruiser. Land Cruise was a
little bit bigger than the fore Runners. So with a
lot of the pretends, which.

Speaker 5 (01:16:09):
One do you have? Which one do you have?

Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
Deputy d Time, I have a Toyota four Runner?

Speaker 5 (01:16:14):
How many miles on?

Speaker 1 (01:16:15):
Two hundred and six thousand miles in?

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
Wait wait wait wait, yeah, but he bought one from
Fred Flintstone this and everything else.

Speaker 5 (01:16:23):
Did you want to not hold two? How many miles
did it have when you got it with ninety thousand?

Speaker 4 (01:16:27):
You bought one with ninety thousand miles on it and
put one hundred and ten on it?

Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
Yeah, but I mean you got to remember more than
a four Runner with nineties just barely getting broken in.

Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
See. But now let's talk about that. Is that true?

Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
Because every other one is a rattle trap we're hearing about.

Speaker 5 (01:16:44):
I mean not not Toyota, isn't that's.

Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
Going to go up to maintenance.

Speaker 5 (01:16:47):
So are our fore Runners known to be dependable?

Speaker 13 (01:16:50):
Good cards, They're known to be extremely dependable, good high
quality vehicles. However, low maintenance, low maintenance. However, you have
to buy it correctly. So I only buy used cars.
So I knew the people that I bought it from.
I knew that the car had been maintained. I had
a car fax on it. I looked at all the
mileage between oil.

Speaker 4 (01:17:09):
The car is a car, whether you buy it new
or use. Are you saying a Forerunner right now is
a good choice?

Speaker 13 (01:17:15):
Absolutely, provided it's been maintained correctly.

Speaker 5 (01:17:18):
I mean, are you buying new right? Yeah? Not this?

Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
Not not anymore?

Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
So you know, wait, don't make them anymore?

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
Well, they do make them, but starting in twenty five
they went to a four cylinder. You don't like their
bot charged engine. I don't trust that yet. It's it
remains to be seen whether or not would be a
reliable engine. At anytime, you see a big shift inside
a manufacturer, whether it's from Ford or from Toyota or heck,
even if you went into the UTV market with Polaris
or can M. When you anytime you see a big

(01:17:47):
shift where they've done a lot of changes, let that
go up there for a lot while and let the
beta group figure out whether or not you want to buy.

Speaker 4 (01:17:53):
People are saying that Rivian is a wonderful SUV. It's
an ev SUV or suv EV super popular.

Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
I've seen them all over the place. I think even
makes the vans for I think the Walmart delivery in
Walmart and Amazon.

Speaker 5 (01:18:08):
Yeah, do you think they make the Amazon.

Speaker 13 (01:18:11):
Yeah, I've seen a ton of them over at their
service facility in North Denver.

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
And so we we are overlooking though the the EV
market when we're talking about huvs, and I'm telling you
maybe it's it's becoming a viable choice right now.

Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
Well, the EV market is literally just a stepping stone.
Sooner it's going to be hydrogen. Do you really believe
that a clothes going to be going Well, they've already
got hydrogen feeling stations out in California right now. With
the biggest problem with hydrogen is it's not cost effective.

Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
What about the hummer? Somebody said talked about the Hummer.
What do you think about them?

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
I've never been a fan of the Hummers.

Speaker 5 (01:18:51):
How are they mechanically?

Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
They you know, they rank up there with an escalade,
so they will start breaking down on you.

Speaker 5 (01:18:59):
Hey, Yes, I've been cars. What's the chance of it exploding?

Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
Pretty much? Nun doc. I mean not any more than
not any more than any electric vehicle.

Speaker 4 (01:19:13):
Really, Okay, let's talk about Merrill has a comment on SUVs.

Speaker 5 (01:19:16):
Go ahead, and Meryll, go ahead.

Speaker 18 (01:19:20):
I talked to you previously because I always owned Audis
and I finally got rid of my Audi and I
traded it to Carmana. Yeah, I got a twenty twenty two.
It is a jeep Cherokee, but it's a jeep Cherokee

(01:19:41):
latitude lack Las with eighteen thousand miles on it. And
I had decided if they were willing to give me
five grand in trade for my classic Audi sports car,
I would go for it. And I've had nothing but
wonderful luck with this this cheap.

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
How many miles have you had? How many miles have
you had it for?

Speaker 18 (01:20:02):
I've had it since eighteen thousand, five hundred miles and
it now has twenty two thousand, four hundred miles.

Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
Okay, so it's relatively new to you.

Speaker 6 (01:20:13):
It is.

Speaker 18 (01:20:14):
And my boyfriend has owned and I know it's on
the bad list. He owns a grand Jeep current Cherokee
and has since nineteen eighty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
That's all he buys.

Speaker 18 (01:20:24):
Those are wow, Bertie, the more powerful you know Jeep,
I like mine because you know, I've always owned little
little outies and right, you know I love this car.

Speaker 4 (01:20:37):
Well, Merril, thank you for the feedback on that. Ron
has a comment on Toyota's.

Speaker 5 (01:20:41):
Go ahead, Ron, Yeah, I love them.

Speaker 8 (01:20:45):
We've had Toyota's, but Toyota's in the family. My daughter
has an Islander with.

Speaker 4 (01:20:50):
Two fifty we wait, wait, wait, the Highlander with two
hundred and fifty thousand miles?

Speaker 5 (01:20:58):
Yeah, are you kidding me? Has she ever had major
engine work? Nothing?

Speaker 8 (01:21:05):
Nothing, nothing at all at all?

Speaker 5 (01:21:07):
And here, holy crap, I have I have.

Speaker 8 (01:21:09):
A two thousand three sit down? It has four hundred
and twenty.

Speaker 4 (01:21:16):
Goly, does it come down to the individual maintenance feed
the people individually who own it?

Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
Does that also it's a huge portion of it? Yes,
it's definitely a big portion.

Speaker 4 (01:21:28):
Okay, we have to take this quick one. We have
to take a quick word here. I'm Tom Martino. Three
oh three seven one three talk seven one three eight
two five five. Go with a sure thing Denver's best
roofer Excel Roofing dot com. You don't pay a cent
until you're content. Time for an insurance check up free,

(01:21:53):
no obligation. In comparison, call Compass Insurance paying too much
your coverage at dozens of insurance companies find out now
three three seven to seven to one.

Speaker 5 (01:22:02):
Help.

Speaker 4 (01:22:02):
You'll think you're his only customer when you choose Frank
durand the real estate Man dot com to list your
home with Remax Alliance three three nine two zero sixteen
twenty two. Hey Tom Martino here, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 5 (01:22:22):
So Robert has American home Shield on his house. The
furnace went out in.

Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
April, and home Shield keeps sending out a contractor. The
contractor dragon his feet. His feet not getting fixed. Robert
needs a motherboard and a blower motor is out. American
home Shield has been unresponsive. Deputy Bow took this on.

(01:22:52):
What's going on? Deputy Bow?

Speaker 8 (01:22:55):
Hey, we got some good results for Robert. American home
Shield sending this contractor out. They replaced his circuit board
with an aftermarket board, and apparently that made things worse
and his wiring harness to the motor burned out. So
they came back and said the wiring harness was no

(01:23:18):
longer available for this seven year old furnace. And I
did some research. Last week. I found a local supplier
and was able to find the wiring harness and the
om circuit board for the equipment. Now now Tom. While
I was doing this research, the American home Shield called

(01:23:42):
Robert and said, look, the parts for the unit are
no longer available. We're going to just sell you a
new furnace for thirty four hundred dollars. And I said, well, Robert,
if they're going to pay for the furnace, maybe just
put a new furnace in. But this a new furnace
is not covered under the American Home Shield contract, so

(01:24:04):
he had to pay for it out of pocket.

Speaker 5 (01:24:06):
Wait a minute, Wait a minute.

Speaker 4 (01:24:07):
They couldn't fix it, and they say, tough luck.

Speaker 5 (01:24:10):
You got to buy a new one.

Speaker 8 (01:24:12):
That's what they said, because they said the wiring harness
for us from this is no longer available. So I
found him a contractor and Robert went ahead and found
a different contractor. He sent an email to American home
Shield proving that we could get the wiring harness and

(01:24:33):
a correct circuit board. So now American home Shield has
changed their tumb Now.

Speaker 5 (01:24:41):
What do they say? What do they say? Now?

Speaker 8 (01:24:43):
They say, well, maybe we need to reevaluate this, and
you're going to send out another contractor next week to
reevaluate it. No charge for Robert. But I told Robert,
if it doesn't work out, you have a good contractor
in the pocket. They can buy these parts locally and
just get his furnace going.

Speaker 5 (01:25:02):
Well, why is it that they couldn't find it?

Speaker 8 (01:25:06):
I believe they just threw their hands up and just
thought it'd be easier to sell Robert a new furnace
rather than try to fix it.

Speaker 5 (01:25:14):
And when you say sell them a new furnace, are
they the ones selling it.

Speaker 8 (01:25:19):
No, they're going through their approved contractor. It's called McCormick,
the HDAC.

Speaker 5 (01:25:24):
But he would have to pay for it, Tom.

Speaker 8 (01:25:28):
He's got paid for it out of pocket.

Speaker 5 (01:25:30):
But does he get any kind of a break on it?

Speaker 8 (01:25:34):
Well, thirty four hundred dollars that's pretty reasonable. But if
you're paying a monthly fee at one hundred dollars a
month or whatever you want. Is why why replace the
furnace when you don't need to. All you need to
do is replace the Larry Harness for like dwighty bucks.

Speaker 5 (01:25:49):
How old is that furnace?

Speaker 8 (01:25:50):
By the way, the furnace was built in twenty nineteen.
It's about seven years old. And it's a good furnace.
It's an eighty percent efficient two stage units. But the
fact of the matter is they're going to send out
another contractor. And I gave them the avenue or the
location where to buy these parts.

Speaker 5 (01:26:09):
To get good. They were excellent.

Speaker 8 (01:26:12):
So Robert is not going to be able to because
we will not have to buy a new furnace. And
I told him maybe you should find another home warranty company.

Speaker 4 (01:26:23):
I don't believe in home warranties. I think they suck.
I mean I just do. They just suck. But anyway,
you deserve that for sure, that's what you deserve. I
like it. Robert Tappy, Okay, thank you, We will talk
to Rayland now. I gave you the fifteen didn't I?

Speaker 5 (01:26:45):
Or did I not?

Speaker 4 (01:26:46):
Okay, Raylan, you have a comment on toyotas go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:26:53):
Yes, we have had a Toyota around four.

Speaker 21 (01:26:57):
Our first one has four hundred and eighty thousand miles.

Speaker 8 (01:27:00):
Oh my god.

Speaker 21 (01:27:03):
Another one and it's got.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
Three hundred and nine thousand.

Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
And you've never had major work done on the engine?

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
No, neither one.

Speaker 21 (01:27:11):
Well, the first one with four hundred and eighty thousand,
we can't drive it anymore because eventually the clutch just
wouldn't shift anymore. But it made it four hundred and
eighty without any any major work.

Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
Oh my goodness, that is amazing.

Speaker 21 (01:27:31):
We recommend Toyota rap fours.

Speaker 5 (01:27:34):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:27:35):
Now the RAF four, how does that differ, Deputy bo D,
I mean, how does that differ from the fore Runner?

Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
Oh, they're completely different vehicles.

Speaker 13 (01:27:45):
It's you know, a fore Runner is a truck, right,
It's a it's a body on frame, and the RAF
four isn't it. It's a unibody construction vehicle. And as
Jeff here is hopefully about to tell us, it's got
a radically different engine and transmission company.

Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
It's nothing in common.

Speaker 5 (01:28:01):
But the Forerunner is listed.

Speaker 4 (01:28:03):
When I asked in artificial intelligence the fore Runner, when
I said the most dependable, reliable, and value for suv,
it said it came up with the literally with the Forerunner. Wow,
as the number one of all SUVs. Number two was
the Lexus.

Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Yeah, it's another Toyota a g X. Oh those are great.

Speaker 13 (01:28:26):
That's a little land Cruiser that's in other markets. It's
called the land Cruiser Prado.

Speaker 5 (01:28:31):
And then that Toyota Highlander. Yeah, the Honda cr V,
the Kia Tell You Ride. I love the Kiya Do
you like kiyas?

Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
Now, I've never been in the tailler Idea look nice
when I see him in the sun.

Speaker 5 (01:28:43):
And the Mazda c X five and the Subaru Ascent.
What do you think about it?

Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
We were talking to earlier that you know, both Yndai
and Kia have come along long ways over the last
couple of generations.

Speaker 5 (01:28:55):
Yeah. So so this list is pretty uh pretty much
agrees with with what other people are saying. Thank you
for all of your comments.

Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
We're looking for the panacea when it comes to SUVs.

Speaker 5 (01:29:08):
What would you buy?

Speaker 4 (01:29:09):
Of course, we're taking any and all calls. Three oh three,
seven to one three talk seven one three two five five.
Denver Regen dot com does treatment stem cell treatment for
peripheral neuropathy and it really works. Of course, I've had
their stem cell therapy for other things for hair regeneration
which really helped me, and for back pain, and they

Speaker 5 (01:30:14):
I'm Tom Martine here. Welcome.

Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
Let's talk to John who has a comment on I'm
not sure what he's commenting on on high mileage cars.

Speaker 14 (01:30:22):
I guess John, Yeah, Hey Tom, I own a twenty
eleven Ram fifteen hundreds with the four seven with two
hundred and thirty eight thousand miles miles.

Speaker 5 (01:30:34):
And have you had it from New Well?

Speaker 14 (01:30:38):
I bought it with four thousand miles on it. The
guy who originally bought it he didn't like it and
he traded it in for another model, so we.

Speaker 23 (01:30:46):
Took the decree.

Speaker 5 (01:30:46):
Wow, So I have you had to do any major
work on it?

Speaker 8 (01:30:52):
No?

Speaker 14 (01:30:53):
And here's why, if I can tell you.

Speaker 6 (01:30:55):
And them, I'm.

Speaker 7 (01:30:57):
Drawing it back on your mechanic.

Speaker 5 (01:30:58):
In with you, with you, Jess sick.

Speaker 14 (01:31:02):
Yes, I change the oil at five thousand miles. I
use nothing but Mobile one and I used to use
the NAPA Platinum, but now I had to go to
the gold since they stopped making the NAPA Platinum or
the kN N filter top of the line filters.

Speaker 6 (01:31:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
Using quality products and regular maintenance is key. Yep.

Speaker 14 (01:31:25):
Every once a year I do the VG EPRF treatment
on the engine and throw an m A in with
the motor oiltimost and that is help transmission and transfer.

Speaker 8 (01:31:37):
I have my I have the regular mechanic.

Speaker 14 (01:31:39):
I have him do it every fifty thousand miles. We
do the BG transmission in the b H and transfer
services on buffles. And that's the key to a great
drive train. And when I do the the m o A,
i't so throw a can of forty four K in it.

Speaker 5 (01:32:01):
How long will you keep this vehicle.

Speaker 14 (01:32:04):
Until the wheels fall off? I don't believe in buying
new vehicles until you have.

Speaker 5 (01:32:10):
To right, I understand.

Speaker 14 (01:32:13):
Yeah, I live in the middle of nowhere, Wyoming. I
need high ground clearance. And now I'm gonna throw a
big shout out to this. In twenty three we bought
a fore Runner and that is the best vehicle I
have ever owned.

Speaker 9 (01:32:26):
I'm gonna be sixty four years older than you.

Speaker 5 (01:32:30):
Co What do you love about the Forerunner?

Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
Wants to date?

Speaker 5 (01:32:36):
What do you love about the Forerunner?

Speaker 14 (01:32:39):
Just the quality it was made, with the ability.

Speaker 8 (01:32:43):
I live in west of Cheyenna.

Speaker 6 (01:32:45):
Middle of nowhere.

Speaker 14 (01:32:45):
I have to deal with snow sometimes above a foot
and even though we have two rams that have high
ground clearance, that fore Runner goes through the snow better
than any vehicle I've ever owned. And it's comfortable to
tribe and I have confidence.

Speaker 4 (01:33:03):
All right, man, thank you for all of your insights.
Appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (01:33:06):
John.

Speaker 4 (01:33:08):
Let's talk to fuck thuk fuch Okay, so fuke, what's happening?

Speaker 5 (01:33:14):
Uh? You were working with Deputy D.

Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
All right, Deputy D, can you explain what a situation was?

Speaker 1 (01:33:21):
Sharanok called us a couple of weeks ago. This was
on your day off and Mark took the call. But
in a nutshell. Thuk bought a commercial building insurance policy
from American Family did it.

Speaker 5 (01:33:32):
For his commercial building.

Speaker 1 (01:33:34):
Her, Yeah, for her commercial building.

Speaker 13 (01:33:36):
And she paid for it upfront a little over three
thousand dollars, got to receive proof of payment and everything,
and then, if I remember correctly, a week or two later,
maybe a couple of weeks later, a hailstorm came and
damaged to a roof, so Thok call dam fam to
make a claim and they said, no, you're you're actually
not insured, even though Puck had had made a payment.

(01:33:57):
The payment cleared and nobody told her she was an insured.
So that's when Mark asked me to follow up with
the insurance agent and the insurance company and took much.

Speaker 5 (01:34:09):
She was a week after the policy.

Speaker 13 (01:34:11):
It was about two week I'd say a week and
a half after the policy, right, took.

Speaker 24 (01:34:16):
Yeah, I mean I mean, I mean no, the policy
I bought the policy since.

Speaker 25 (01:34:23):
End up made and didn't get until two right, so
it's more than a month.

Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
A month okay.

Speaker 5 (01:34:28):
But then it was what kind of a loss did
she have?

Speaker 1 (01:34:30):
She had health damage to her commercial commercial.

Speaker 13 (01:34:33):
Property roof, and MFM told her, hey, we don't have
an insurance policy. For you, even though Tuck has all
this paperwork, so took much of her credit, took it
upon herself to go ahead and submit a complaint to
the insurance agency. Yeah, and then I saw a letter
that American Family sent to her a few days ago

(01:34:55):
as a result of that complaint, and took can.

Speaker 1 (01:34:57):
You please let us know what happened? What did that
letter say? And who if anybody came over to take
a look at your property? And how did that turn out?

Speaker 8 (01:35:07):
Oh?

Speaker 25 (01:35:07):
Yeah, so I received that letter from the OI that.

Speaker 24 (01:35:11):
American Family is strong want to take over responsibility, which.

Speaker 4 (01:35:15):
Is is this is this after you got in touch
with them?

Speaker 5 (01:35:18):
Okay, go ahead?

Speaker 4 (01:35:21):
What did they What did they say in the letter?
What did they say in the letter?

Speaker 25 (01:35:27):
So in the letter they say that they admit that
you know the Asian They explained, they explained the situation,
and they say short. They say that they will have
the investigator to come over to take a look at
the roof, and yeah, are we able to.

Speaker 24 (01:35:47):
Make an appointment? And yesterday the roof guy from American
Family in stronger investigators came over and take a look.

Speaker 5 (01:35:54):
Already, Well did they say they would pay?

Speaker 24 (01:35:59):
So even that investigator agree on everything. He say, yeah,
this is American Family and the broker fall the company.

Speaker 25 (01:36:08):
Uh, I need to take responsibility on that. And this
group needs to be replaced, like replaced. It's cast a
lot of money.

Speaker 5 (01:36:16):
And so they say they will. They say they will
replace the roof.

Speaker 24 (01:36:21):
The investigators say he will try to do his best,
but it's still after he do the make you he
needs to send to legal departments. So so for now
I'm still waiting. So I'm not sure yet. And they
say that's the problem too. Is now in the city
of network, they when you replace something, it required a

(01:36:44):
code and everything you know, and they say, my insrount,
which is I don't know the policy.

Speaker 5 (01:36:50):
And he said, how do you think happened? What do
you think happened? The did the agent? What do you think?

Speaker 1 (01:36:55):
Yeah, I can explain what happened because American Family.

Speaker 13 (01:36:58):
I read the letter from American Family Insurance wish to
explain what happened?

Speaker 5 (01:37:01):
What did they say?

Speaker 13 (01:37:02):
After the agent submitted her payment and the application, they
a few days later they denied that coverage. They said,
that's not the kind of policy or the kind of
risks that they're cover. However, they told if I remember
this correctly. They told the agency that it's been denied,
but somebody went on vacation and somebody, it sounds like

(01:37:24):
at the agency level dropped the ball and never told
Tuck that she was actually not insured after all. So
this whole time she thought she was insured, the hailstorm
clink came.

Speaker 5 (01:37:34):
So they this is bad faith.

Speaker 4 (01:37:36):
I mean, not bad faith, but this is there there
they can get in trouble for this. Yes, the Insurance
Commission should do something about this.

Speaker 13 (01:37:44):
Well, the American Family letter, the way I understood it
is I'm cautiously optimistic. They did not explicitly say they're
going to cover this, but there were words to the
effect of they do feel like they're responsible and perhaps
they should cover this. And I think that the insurance
adjuster that they sent out or investigator is still calls

(01:38:06):
this person. I think that's going to be part of
their investigation and part of their decision about whether or
not to cover this. So they're taking the right steps
in the correct direction. But we're waiting for her, We're
waiting for them to tell Thok that yeah, we're going
to admit responsibility for this and we are going to
cover this loss. So it's still a work in progress,
but there is reason to be optimistic.

Speaker 4 (01:38:27):
All right, well, thank you very much for that, Deputy d.
Steve the painter has a comment on mileage on.

Speaker 5 (01:38:35):
Old cars go ahead?

Speaker 23 (01:38:40):
Seven point.

Speaker 12 (01:38:42):
Yeah, one thousand miles on it?

Speaker 5 (01:38:46):
How many tikes?

Speaker 23 (01:38:48):
One and ninety two dollars?

Speaker 5 (01:38:50):
Oh now, Steve, you know God doesn't like a fibver.

Speaker 23 (01:38:58):
She's old, but she's still running.

Speaker 5 (01:39:00):
No, come on, man, have you replaced the engine?

Speaker 16 (01:39:05):
Nope?

Speaker 23 (01:39:05):
Nope, come on, I've done in between alternators, you know,
water pumps, things like that, transmission, but the motor has
never been met with basically.

Speaker 5 (01:39:17):
Six hundred thousand miles.

Speaker 1 (01:39:19):
Is that a diesel or a guess aline?

Speaker 9 (01:39:22):
It's true, it's a diesel seven seven point three diesel.

Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
Nice. That's probably the best platform we have.

Speaker 5 (01:39:29):
How's it running?

Speaker 8 (01:39:32):
I just put it this way.

Speaker 5 (01:39:33):
It runs.

Speaker 8 (01:39:33):
If I say something good about it, then it don't run.

Speaker 1 (01:39:36):
Run it's listening.

Speaker 5 (01:39:39):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (01:39:41):
It's a two thousand and two Ford F three fifty diesel.

Speaker 5 (01:39:45):
What engine is that? Is that a Cummings?

Speaker 6 (01:39:48):
No, it's a power stroke.

Speaker 5 (01:39:52):
Power stroke? What kind of transmission should be?

Speaker 1 (01:39:55):
Four one on time?

Speaker 4 (01:39:57):
What does that mean? What's the brand? Name, it's okay.
Did you ever have to do a transmission?

Speaker 9 (01:40:05):
Yes, I puller traders in that so.

Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
That's incredible. He pulls trailers and yet he's still.

Speaker 4 (01:40:13):
Had Come on, man, are those are those the original
rings and everything?

Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:40:22):
Gosh, dang it.

Speaker 4 (01:40:25):
You won the prize today so far I think, uh huh?

durand the real estate Man dot com to list your

sixteen twenty two.

Speaker 5 (01:41:21):
Hey, I'm Tom Martino. A busy car day today, although
we can talk more than cars. We've been searching for
the perfect SUV and I'm going to go so far
as to say that we have to include EV's and
it would have to be Rivian and the ex model
Tesla beats the hell out of all of them. Almost

(01:41:42):
all SUVs have trouble. Almost every one of them has trouble.
Kind of around forty to fifty thousand, they start beating
you to death with with maintenance, except for the Forerunner
and the other Toyota, which one wasn't the yeah, the Raftform, Yeah,
but all of them, all.

Speaker 1 (01:42:01):
Three you mentioned the EVSUV market. I mean it depending
on what you're going to do with it. None of
them really have really good off road capabilities right now,
so you know if you were now, I hear.

Speaker 4 (01:42:11):
That the which is a terrible range and all that.
And they have four motors, one on each wheel. The
five eighty, which is the G five eighty, it's the
G Wagon turned electric.

Speaker 1 (01:42:22):
Yeah, but for somebody who's going to be buying a
G Wagon, they're typically not all road type people. Most
of the time rings a concrete queen.

Speaker 5 (01:42:29):
You're right. So the G Wagon five eighty has a mode.
I don't know why, Well, maybe I do.

Speaker 4 (01:42:35):
It does a complete three sixty in place by manipulating
the motors, so you can stand there or or or
sit there in the car and do three sixties to
the left to the right, one eighties.

Speaker 5 (01:42:49):
The way they do the wheels, it just turns it,
I mean without turning the wheel. Does that make sense
to you? It's like and they do it when you
got it.

Speaker 4 (01:42:58):
But I couldn't think of a spot where you would
ever do that four wheeling off roading?

Speaker 5 (01:43:03):
Can you you do off roading?

Speaker 1 (01:43:05):
I do, but I don't go.

Speaker 13 (01:43:06):
Into locations where I need to be able to do
a three sixty with that moving. So it just depends
on how well you pick your road, how well you
know your area, and how well you pick your line.

Speaker 4 (01:43:15):
But that has to be one of the worst values
I think in ev In EV's I mean, those things
are starting at one seventy five and they're really cool looking,
like as you wagon, but they have four motors, one
on each wheel. Now the other this isn't an SUV,
but the other intriguing hybrid. And I said I wouldn't

(01:43:38):
want a hybrid because hybrids, I think, then you have
two systems to maintain.

Speaker 5 (01:43:42):
You know, if you're going to give up a gas,
give it up.

Speaker 4 (01:43:45):
But the E Ray which is the Corvette Stingray or
the Corvette now has an E ray. The E ray
has an electric for the low end and for the
torque for that not to torque, but with the cork
getting off more okay, the tour and then it has
the uh, the gas that takes over.

Speaker 1 (01:44:06):
That would make more sense going the other way, because
I mean electric motor.

Speaker 5 (01:44:09):
You have electric. That's what I mean. They that's what
they use. They use that for the start.

Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
I thought it was the other way around, and then
as you get to the higher end it switches over
to gas.

Speaker 5 (01:44:20):
All right, people, we got another hour to go on
the Troubleshooter Show.

Speaker 4 (01:44:23):

as the call and we'll look into it. And it's
better to call us beforehand when you just notice the
problem of ruing rather than waiting. By the way, we've
had a discussion on key fobs and key replacements and
everywhere I look on Amazon You can find any key
fobs you want, just order them. They're very cheap, very inexpensive,

(01:46:23):
but you must get them programmed, they said, at an
authorized dealer, which is a locksmith who knows how to
do it, like City Lock and Boulder or a car
dealership if they're willing to do it. And so, key
fobs are not hard to find. Neither are replacement keys.
As I said, though, the hardest part is the programming

(01:46:46):
if the fob has a key with it, or if
the key has a transponder in it. So just keep
that in mind. I wanted to let people know that
also I want to invite you to sell celebrate with me.
August fourth, it's National Tom Day. It is a true story.

(01:47:10):
It's National Tom Day. From the data on what national
day is it dot com? The Tom Day came from
a train called Tom, the Tom train so every time.

(01:47:31):
So when it started, they said, let's make this Tom Day.
Then other Toms were added to it. You know, you
have all kinds of Toms, Tom and Jerry, Tom hangs,
Tom Hardy you have, so Tom's have their own day.

(01:47:52):
Now why do they get their own day? Because they
just do and just art. A national day is not
that difficult. It's your opportunity to, you know, indulge in
something you love. There are all kinds of weird national days.
If you look at what National Day is it dot

(01:48:14):
com you can find out so anyway, it's National Tom Day,
not Tom Martino Day, but I'll take the Tom Day.
And if you go to that website, though, you'll find
out about other national days like well, anyway, there's there's
just too many of them, Like what's today? Anybody want

(01:48:37):
to know? What's today?

Speaker 5 (01:48:38):
Today is girlfriend girlfriend Day.

Speaker 4 (01:48:45):
And disc golf Day, and there's there's also So if
you go to that website.

Speaker 5 (01:48:54):
What National Day is it? Dot com? You'll find that out.

Speaker 4 (01:48:57):
By the way, we're taking your call on SUVs or
any car problems, question or complaints or any problem.

Speaker 5 (01:49:04):
Robert wants to talk about oil.

Speaker 4 (01:49:08):
On his twenty twenty three Lexus RX three fifty beautiful vehicle.

Speaker 5 (01:49:13):
Robert, go ahead, what's going on?

Speaker 8 (01:49:16):
I'm driving a.

Speaker 9 (01:49:16):
Vehicle that has one hundred and ninety six thousand miles
on It's a twenty twenty three, Like you said, purring
bloods of hostile at the moment. So if you here's
the Spirroen, you'll.

Speaker 8 (01:49:25):
Know what do you mean?

Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
I mean, he's the twenty twenty three and you have
how many miles?

Speaker 9 (01:49:30):
What you've taken care of this vehicle? This is the
fifty ninety thousand.

Speaker 1 (01:49:36):
Okay, that's a lot of miles for you ever get
out of it?

Speaker 5 (01:49:40):
Yeah? Thanks, a lot of miles.

Speaker 6 (01:49:44):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:49:45):
I said, do you ever get out of the goshdarm thing?

Speaker 18 (01:49:48):
Well?

Speaker 16 (01:49:48):
You know, yeah, I bring it.

Speaker 9 (01:49:50):
You to have changed the automatic transitions.

Speaker 5 (01:49:52):
You don't recall this car?

Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
I think I might. Do you transport some sort of
medical hazard?

Speaker 8 (01:49:59):
Blood? Yeah? No, okay, things like that.

Speaker 4 (01:50:03):
Anyway, what is your question? What's your question?

Speaker 5 (01:50:07):
One?

Speaker 9 (01:50:08):
It says I'm supposed to put in zero W twenty
oh sorry, zero twenty sixteen oil, but Mobile one makes
it high mileage oil, that's zero doe W twenty. Should
I use the zero W twenty high mileages where vehicles
over seventy.

Speaker 1 (01:50:23):
Five thousand, it would probably be a good idea.

Speaker 9 (01:50:27):
Okay, that's my idea. I put the zero twenty my
mileage in it, since I'm well over seventy five thousands.
So I just curious what your opinion.

Speaker 16 (01:50:36):
Was about that.

Speaker 1 (01:50:37):
Yeah, Mobile one in general is a good product, Okay.

Speaker 9 (01:50:41):
That's great then, okay, that's all I wanted to know
if I should, if I should go to the higher
a little bit higher than costany just four point higher.

Speaker 13 (01:50:51):
Robert has in one hundred and ninety thousand miles. Has
this lexis needed any repairs?

Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
Not yet.

Speaker 9 (01:50:58):
We take care of it and I take it to
who am I talking to right now now?

Speaker 4 (01:51:03):
Kimmera Transmissions is here, but also but also Deputy D's
on the phone.

Speaker 8 (01:51:08):
He was just talking to you right now, so I
have I didn't recognize his boys.

Speaker 9 (01:51:13):
I take it to Chimera Transmission from the transmission fluid
change and I changed the oil I mean seventy five thousand,
I mean seven thousand, five hundred miles.

Speaker 1 (01:51:24):
So every other day, well taken care of.

Speaker 5 (01:51:26):
Wow, you put a lot of miles on. Do you
have a second vehicle?

Speaker 9 (01:51:31):
Yes, we have another LEXUSUS twenty twenty four.

Speaker 6 (01:51:35):
Most of them are authorized in.

Speaker 9 (01:51:36):
Merchant vehicles and they go up to one hundred and
thirty thousand miles I mean one hundred and thirty miles
per hour where we're transporting blood emergency hospital. And I
hate to put that kind of a stress on an engine,
but usually it seems like it's just just fine. Everything
seems fine.

Speaker 5 (01:51:51):
One hundred and thirty miles an hour.

Speaker 1 (01:51:54):
Roberts, do you have lights and sirens on your lexuses?

Speaker 9 (01:51:58):
It's yes, both are authorized emergency eagles, and the light
bart fired and the transport blood and organs and hostile
needs an emergency. Right now, I'm taking blood to Alamoso.
So wow, US vehicles from four and that's why it's
so many miles from most of thousands highway by.

Speaker 13 (01:52:17):
So, Robert, are you a contractor for the hospitals or
for some insurance company?

Speaker 9 (01:52:22):
Who do you? No, I'm a volunteer with an organization
called bed Staff, which started years ago he may nine.
And we are ems volunteers who transport things to hospitals
and emergent.

Speaker 5 (01:52:35):
And so as a volunteer you bear all the costs
of a vehicle and all of that. Yes.

Speaker 9 (01:52:41):
Unfortunately, also we get to taxes and take all the
extents of the tax off.

Speaker 5 (01:52:46):
Well yeah, but what a good guy man.

Speaker 6 (01:52:48):
And that that is.

Speaker 9 (01:52:51):
It's not that much money to drive hospital blood to
a hospital all over you when you tally it all
the miles it is, I don't want to know.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
I wonder more importantly, I wonder more importantly, how many
lives you saved.

Speaker 9 (01:53:06):
I don't think I've saved any I think I've helped a.

Speaker 1 (01:53:10):
Good answer, I've.

Speaker 9 (01:53:12):
Ever saved the lives we Sometimes they say I have,
but I don't believe that because they still had blood.

Speaker 16 (01:53:18):
It's the bloodneck.

Speaker 9 (01:53:19):
When I write they had one unit level competition, it
was bleeding out. So it's it's helping people. But I
don't think I've ever saved a single life life in
eight since.

Speaker 5 (01:53:31):
I think you're pretty humble, Robert, thank you very much
for calling in and thank you for work that you do.
So let me ask you them to Jeff on cars
like that high mileage.

Speaker 4 (01:53:45):
I mean, the secret seems everything in common, everything one
thing everyone has in common is changing that oil mayfield.

Speaker 1 (01:53:52):
Yeah, and not just the old.

Speaker 5 (01:53:54):
What's a good interval? Is there any one interval you
can give me six thousand you know, I'd.

Speaker 1 (01:53:58):
Say the six to seven times a mile area? Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:54:01):
And do you like full synthetic?

Speaker 1 (01:54:03):
Definitely? I like full synthetic, and you know when it
comes to change your don't get cheap on the filter.
That's just as important as the oil. The cheaper filters
have an element that will break down inside them. And
they're basically useless after a certain amount of time.

Speaker 5 (01:54:16):
And every time you do the oil, you do the
show filter correct. Okay, we got more coming up on
the Troubleshooter Show. Three oh three seven one three eight
two five five.

Speaker 4 (01:54:31):

Hey Tom Martine here, Welcome to the show. Three O
three seven one three talk seven one three eight two
five five.

Speaker 4 (01:55:16):
Deputy Bau has a question for Jeff at Kimera transmission here,
Deputy Bow, what's going on?

Speaker 6 (01:55:24):
Jeff?

Speaker 8 (01:55:25):
Hey, my kid has a two thousand and one Honda
and it's got now two hundred thousand miles on it.
I replaced the transmission when it had one hundred and
fifty thousand, but this particular transmission has it shifts by
levers instead of clutches. Have you heard of a lever

(01:55:47):
type transmission.

Speaker 1 (01:55:50):
That's not quite one hundred percent accurate? I mean, inside
it is just like a stick shift transmission in the
sense that it's kind of like gear to gear, but
the clutch drums were the clutch packs act as a
shift fork as opposed to use a shift fork like
you would if you were driving a stick shift, So
it's not an actual level. The only actual lever inside
there would be for the reverse and it's on its

(01:56:11):
own separate circuit there, but it still uses a piston
to move that.

Speaker 8 (01:56:16):
Okay, So my main question is when I replaced the transmission,
I couldn't find one anywhere. I actually had to buy
one on it. I really took a risk. I bought
a rebuilt one on eBay, but I've got fifty thousand
miles on it. But the mechanic that put it in said,
the reason my transmission failed because on these little hondas

(01:56:37):
with this labor type system that you have to let
the car warm up for about a run for about
fifteen minutes before you put it in gear and drive.

Speaker 1 (01:56:46):
No, No, definitely not so. I mean, it's just like
any other car you can get in there. I mean
I generally recommend that you after you fire it up,
let it come down off off the fast idle before
you start moving around. But no, that's not what killed
that transmission.

Speaker 8 (01:57:01):
Okay, So she did just put it in gear and
just take off.

Speaker 1 (01:57:04):
Yeah, like I said, we for it to come down
off a fast title. You know, that's usually what fifteen
twenty seconds and then you're good to go.

Speaker 8 (01:57:10):
Okay, that's what I thought.

Speaker 5 (01:57:12):
All right, Jeff, all right, man, thank you, Bo. You
working on anything.

Speaker 2 (01:57:16):
Bo.

Speaker 6 (01:57:18):
That's a.

Speaker 8 (01:57:22):
Heating case where they charged her forty three hundred dollars
for installing a ball cock. So I'm waiting to see
if they're going to give her a.

Speaker 6 (01:57:31):
Reduction in that man service call.

Speaker 5 (01:57:34):
But okay, won't know till Monday. The ballcock is called, especially.

Speaker 8 (01:57:40):
The steel cock. It's the FoST that outside the house.

Speaker 5 (01:57:44):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (01:57:46):
She called in last week and I thought the charge
was exorbed.

Speaker 4 (01:57:49):
No, no, I know, I remember that, and we were
talking about that. But you know, while we don't control prices,
it did seem outrageous.

Speaker 5 (01:57:59):
It was her pressure valve going into the house right
well after.

Speaker 8 (01:58:03):
The this is what I don't like about it. After
they installed it, and then they came back and said,
we need to install one of these reducing valves because
her pressure is eightyps eighty pounds per square, is right.
They would not warranty her the work for the for
the fonset valve unless they installed the pressure reducing valve,

(01:58:24):
and they wanted almost two thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (01:58:27):
To do that.

Speaker 8 (01:58:28):
So I told her, no way on the planet. You
need to have your reducing valve installed, and if you do,
you can get it done a lot cheaper.

Speaker 2 (01:58:36):
But I didn't like the.

Speaker 8 (01:58:37):
Fact that they used that as a ploy to get
them to do the contract because they said the work
that they did before wouldn't be warrantied.

Speaker 4 (01:58:46):
She she hired him as her name is Debbie, hired
AAA service fixed two leaks in her father's house and
they charged forty six hundred install the new host BIB
and replaced a section of pipe with a shut off
valve going to his water as washer. They also quoted

(01:59:06):
a water pressure valve for twelve hundred folks.

Speaker 5 (01:59:09):
So that's my POSW So the forty six.

Speaker 4 (01:59:13):
Hundred was for the hose bib and a section of
pipe with a shutoff valve, so who knows. And then
and that was the part going to his washer. And
then they quoted a pressure valve for twelve hundred. All
of those prices seem absolutely outrageous.

Speaker 8 (01:59:34):
Well, then they didn't have to do any construction. All
they did was take the ball valve out and screw
it in. And they didn't have to use a hammer,
drill or anything to do any construction. So and another thing,
the old man gave the technician five hundred dollars in
cash that I didn't know about. And that's five hundred
dollars in cash for partial payment of the bill. Is

(01:59:55):
not reflected on the invoys.

Speaker 5 (01:59:57):
So I wonder if that guy just pocketed the money.

Speaker 8 (02:00:00):
I'm trying to get to the bottom of that. The
general manager of this I gave them a couple of
days to just go over this and let me know
by monday what they're going to do for it.

Speaker 5 (02:00:11):
Oh, I'll be happy to find I mean, I'd love
to know what you find out.

Speaker 8 (02:00:15):
I'm looking for a big reduction in this bill.

Speaker 5 (02:00:18):
All right, Thank you very much, bo, We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (02:00:22):
So Jeff, somebody texted me more than once about the
Ineos grana deer or granadier or I don't know how
you pronounce it, the ineos I n eos. Apparently there
is a dealer for it in Colorado Springs. Have you
heard of them?

Speaker 1 (02:00:43):
I've heard of them. I'm really not that familiar with them,
so I can't speak with any sort of level of
intelligence on them.

Speaker 6 (02:00:49):
Now.

Speaker 4 (02:00:50):
I heard they have DMW engines in them, but they
go anywhere from eighty to one hundred grand. They look
a little like a between a land Rover and a
g wagon, the old land rovers and a g wagon.
They're actually pretty cool looking, do they? You know? They
have what I call that safari look, you know what

(02:01:10):
I mean, the square. I wonder how they drive. Does
anyone have one? Call me if you have one. I'd
love to know about it.

Speaker 5 (02:01:19):
And uh they they think?

Speaker 4 (02:01:21):
You know, I don't know how popular they are. I've
seen a few around and they don't look bad. But
I'd be happy, I'd be I'd love to hear what
what you think of those. It's called the ineos I
n e o s grenadeer, granadeer. I guess it's grenadeer

(02:01:41):
uh Grenadier g R E N A d I E R.
And someone said they're in. They're in uh Colorado Springs
a new dealership. So give us a call if you
have any experience with those. I'm not sure of the
horsepower of the engine or anything like it, but we'll
explore it. Also, we're waiting to hear your nomination for

(02:02:07):
an SUV that you love. And then don't forget August fourth,
his National tom Day. Now, I found another website that
fascinates the hell.

Speaker 6 (02:02:19):
Out of me.

Speaker 4 (02:02:21):
It is amazing what you can find online. Now listen
to this one. You're gonna love this website. I don't
care who you are.

Speaker 5 (02:02:30):
It's called end of Life dot Date. So what is
endof life dot Date.

Speaker 4 (02:02:40):
It's a website that has every category, every category of
technology when it's end of life came and they stop
being supported, or when they're predicted to come. So you
go to this website and for example, click on like

(02:03:03):
iPhone Okay, Then it tells you the sixteen E and
production and supported released five months ago. Go down here
to one that says fifteen pro and it was just
it's supported and it has things not supported any longer.
So if you go to the iPhone eight, seven years

(02:03:25):
ago and ten months ago, whatever was seven years and
ten months ago. Five years ago, they stopped updating and
and support start stopped four months ago. So what it
does is no matter what you press on on the
left side, you can pick Apple watches, not just Apple,
a Zora servers, backdrop, Bamboo.

Speaker 5 (02:03:46):
Basil, caddy.

Speaker 4 (02:03:47):
So you pick a technology and it tells you the
current level of support, the release number, the model.

Speaker 5 (02:03:54):
It's amazing to me.

Speaker 4 (02:03:56):
So if you're thinking about buying something used, for example
on Amazon right, so if you want to pick something used,
you would go and you would click on it, like
I'm trying to think of something like iPads for example.
Now I'm an Apple guy, but there's so many other things,
so don't think.

Speaker 5 (02:04:15):
It's just Apple. But if you go to Apple iPad okay,
it tells you which iPads are supported and which guns
are discontinued. And it's just amazing. So you can see,
for example, if you.

Speaker 4 (02:04:30):
Went to the iPad air fourth generation, you would see
how when it was released and it says it will
end support September of twenty twenty seven. It'll tell you
when they stop supporting it completely. So that's endoflife dot date.

O three seven to one three talks. I'm reading about
this ineos Granadier Grenadier and it was started by an

(02:05:44):
English fellow who wanted to get the rights. He wanted
to get the rights to the land Rover Defender and
the original land Rover Defender, and he couldn't get the
right because they stop making it at land Rover. And
he will love the vehicle, so he crafted a vehicle

(02:06:07):
to copy it. And it's on a steel letter framed chassis.
It's very square in box. You have a lot of
open hinges and stuff. It's made for off roading. It's
got BMW engine and it's got a very sturdy they
say construction. Now the engine seems to me like the

(02:06:27):
weak spot a BMW engine.

Speaker 5 (02:06:30):
It's the BMW three leader in line six.

Speaker 1 (02:06:36):
Anything with the BMW name on it. You know where
I had more stance.

Speaker 14 (02:06:39):
Is on that.

Speaker 4 (02:06:40):
Yeah, And they say this has listen to this up
to three point five tons of towing capacity payloads matching.
It's power rated up to five point five tons. Anyway,
it says that this is a brutally honest rug use

(02:07:00):
off road vehicle license for the roads, and there's a
dealer in Colorado Springs. But I guess it doesn't have
a smooth ride. It pays homage to the defender, but
it's its own vehicle. It's being made in Hambuck, France
and imported to the US. It's a very rugged, intentionally

(02:07:25):
rugged vehicle. It's really made for people who want to
drive some but do mostly off roading. But I've seen
a lot of people with these that don't look like
they're off roaders at all.

Speaker 1 (02:07:36):
How long's it been in production?

Speaker 5 (02:07:40):
October twenty twenty two, so.

Speaker 1 (02:07:43):
Give it another two or three years, let everybody else
work the bugs out and then jump in.

Speaker 5 (02:07:49):
Yeah. I don't want it.

Speaker 4 (02:07:50):
It's too rugged, and I don't want something for off roading.
But anyway, the Ineos apparently is an alternative for an SUV.
We haven't found the ultimate SUV, but I think you
would have to go to the Toyota line that the
Forerunner or the RAV four. People are just loving them.
They're not too sexy, you know, but they you know.

(02:08:14):
So anyway, here's the problem.

Speaker 5 (02:08:16):
If you want really cool looking vehicles, what I'm seeing
is you don't have a lot of choice. The evs
are pretty cool, and are they really for off road?

Speaker 4 (02:08:29):
Juice though? And who cares about off road? When we
talk suv. I think there's two kinds. One is for
off roading and road use, but most of them are
for road use, most of them. And I think if
you could put some of these vehicles together, like the
looks of the land Rover and then the dependability of

(02:08:51):
a Toyota, you would have one hell of a car,
wouldn't you?

Speaker 5 (02:08:57):
Let me go?

Speaker 4 (02:08:57):
To the let me go some text somebody wants to know, Jeff,
what is the best transmission on the market and what
good is it.

Speaker 5 (02:09:05):
I'm saying, what good is it? The transmission goes with
the car. So do you buy a car for its transmission?

Speaker 1 (02:09:11):
No, you definitely don't buy it for a trends. I
mean you've got you've got a complete package deal there.
So I mean just because she's a beautiful lady doesn't
mean she's got a good personality. Uh.

Speaker 5 (02:09:21):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:09:21):
As far as one of the most durable on the road,
right now, we go back to the Toyota. Uh, you know,
the AB sixty F or the AB sixty E FS
two will drive. It's in both the Tundra and the Tacoma.
We see very very few of those, and when they do,
we're typically smaller jobs typically, So it's the worst transmission definitely,
the Nissan CVTs. I mean I could make a living

(02:09:42):
off of just those.

Speaker 5 (02:09:43):
Nissan and the Nissan. Okay, what about American transmissions As.

Speaker 1 (02:09:47):
Far as the most durable, Well, unfortunately, you know, Chevy
for a long time was using a true Allison inside
their trucks. Now, although they still call it an Alison,
name has been taken over by Chevy themselves. Outside of
the Allison actual manufacturing plants and the new ten speeds
are having huge problems. But if I had to pick one,
durability wise, the old school Allison's Okay.

Speaker 5 (02:10:10):
Someone wants to know what vehicles have Commons Diesels in.

Speaker 1 (02:10:15):
Them that would have been Dodge.

Speaker 5 (02:10:17):
Is that the only one? They don't have him anymore?

Speaker 1 (02:10:21):
Well, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, No, I think they still
do run some of the Cummings inside some of their lines.

Speaker 4 (02:10:29):
Someone is buying a motor home, what about engine transmission
combinations for motor homes?

Speaker 1 (02:10:39):
Boy, that really depends on what kind of vehicle he's
actually money. And I mean, you know, Mark's got a
pretty good deal with you know.

Speaker 5 (02:10:45):
His buying. First of all, the big Detroit Diesel Series
six Detroit is an awesome Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (02:10:52):
So the original Detroit is the Visa six V seventy ones.
They were they literally were pretty much a Chevy three
fifty block, but they were built for the PT box
two strokes. They're built for the peace.

Speaker 5 (02:11:01):
It doesn't the Series sixty have electronic stuff and it's
the Diroc. And then you couple that with the World transmission,
which is the Alison.

Speaker 1 (02:11:10):
Yeah, and you've got a great combination there.

Speaker 5 (02:11:13):
And so you can find motor homes with those combinations.
A lot of them have that.

Speaker 4 (02:11:18):
And as far as the body of the vehicle, you
have a lot of good chassis manufacturers. Some are like
freight liners and then they put a motor home on them.
Some are Pravo, which of course are buses and they
keep the chassis in the body, and then others are
there's one call they think, I forget the name of it,

(02:11:38):
but anyway, some of them make their own.

Speaker 5 (02:11:40):
Very few, but some of them make their own. Motor
homes are a whole different animal. You're buying so many
different things with a motor home. You're buying the chassis, engine, combination, transmission.
Okay that, then you have the house that sists on
top of it.

Speaker 4 (02:11:55):
You have some people that have wonderful chassists, and you
have wonderful engine transmission combos, but a terrible house. Then
you have good houses on top of crap. And there
are there are many different ones that you know, they
have a combination of all, like the pravos, but they're

(02:12:16):
so damn expensive.

Speaker 5 (02:12:18):
They're cost prohibitive. They are literally cost prohibitive, and in
fact they're in such a price right now.

Speaker 4 (02:12:24):
I don't know who they're selling them to. I swear
to God, I don't know who they're selling him to,
because people in that line of money would have a
jet or maybe just travel by air and celebrities. They
can't make enough money just selling to celebrities for tours.
But those Pravo motor homes.

Speaker 5 (02:12:44):
I had one, the first new one I ever bought
in my life, and I don't want to talk about
it was back in the day when I was stupid
and had a lot of money, and I bought it
brand new, just under a million. Right now for a
new Pravo marathon or something, they're two million dollars now, seriously, now,
I'm not kidding. It's not like just to try to

(02:13:05):
generate eyr. But who in their right mind, who truly
in their right mind.

Speaker 4 (02:13:11):
Could ever ever buy that? Why would you at two
million dollars? There is nothing in the world that would
make that worth two million dollars. Nothing, there's no technology
and a forty five foot motor home there is no
I don't care what you say, you know, furniture sinks,

(02:13:31):
the engine, the drive train, if you look at it,
what is worth two million dollars.

Speaker 1 (02:13:36):
RVs are just like boats. You're constantly working on there's
something always trying wrong with it. It's a depreciating asset.
You know the old adage that, you know, the two
best days of a boat owner's life the day he
gets his new boat the day he gets rid of it.

Speaker 4 (02:13:48):
Anyway, we have more coming up on the Troubleshooter Show
three O three seven to one three talk. But seriously,
I don't care how much money I had. There's there's
a cost prohibitiveness that comes from just being stupid. I mean,
at some point, you're buying a motor home for two million,
Like I said, if you had that money, you can
buy a freaking used Plattice turboproper airplane that damn near

(02:14:13):
is like a small personal jet ten passenger that'll take
you anywhere you want to go, and it has a
toilet in it. So I'm wondering what market they're going for.
They just keep out pricing themselves. What market are they
going for? Who does it? That's the question I have, truly.
I mean it gets to a point where I say,

(02:14:34):
nobody's gonna buy this. Nobody anyway. KANH Painting pros I
