Speaker 1 (00:00):
So one of the big stories sad. This morning. Rob
Reiner and his wife Michelle found dead at their Los
Angeles home. They live in the Brentwood neighborhood. They were
found stabbed yesterday I think around six thirty Columbus time,
and their son, Nick is being questioned as we speak.
Nick Reiner, thirty two years old, is being questioned in this.
(00:22):
It's looking more and more like he's responsible. He's been troubled,
He's had some issues in his life. He's battled drug addiction,
he's battled homelessness, he's battled depressions. He went into rehab
the first time when he was fifteen, so, you know,
things not working out well for him, and what his
(00:44):
motivation was unclear at this point if it's in fact,
we're speculating him, but he's he is being questioned by
LAPD and they're saying there's no other suspects at the
moment in the stabbing death of Rob and Michelle Reiner.
So it's heartbreaking, incredibly sad. You know, when you think
about the body of work from Rob Reiner going all
(01:04):
the way back to you know, the Archie Bunker days. Yeah,
you know, he played Meathead. I mean what a great character.
And then all of the great movies he's directed. Stand
by Me when Harry met Sally, the Princess Bride, A
few good men, spinal Tap, Spinal Tap two, so done
at all man, really and all of them were feel good.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Or touched you in an emotional way or how to
mix a boat.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Very talented, I mean in seventy eight years old and
still working, you know, really, still still producing, whether it's
in front of the camera or behind it. And his
wife Michelle was sixty eight, So continue to attract that story.
The Bondai Beach tragedy terror events. There was a Honukkah
(01:48):
Menora lighting on the first night of Hanukkah in Australia.
This is a very densely populated area Jewish folks in Sydney,
Bondai Beach. Fifteen people dead. At least fifteen people dead
there and several others forty others hospitalized. It was a
Pakistani father's son duo there. The father was taken out
(02:11):
by police, the son injured in the hospital. So he'll
be answering some questions there. So a tragic story. And
then the Brown University shooting boy just a lot of
breaking news over the weekend. Let's get more on that
now with Evan Brown Fox News. Two people dead in
that shooting, Evan. And they did have a person of
(02:32):
interesting custody, did they not?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
They did have a person of interest in custody, but
this person has since been released after concluding it was
not the person they were looking for. So the gunman
remains at large, and so there is still that danger. However,
the law enforcement in Providence is not reinstating any shelter
(02:55):
in place orders. They had them in effect most of yesterday,
and the campus school Brown University is canceling classes, canceling exams,
telling students they could leave early for break there they've
gotten responsibilities on campus for the rest of the semester,
and and so that's that's what's happening. But this suspect
remains at large and should be considered to be a
(03:15):
dangerous person. Whether or not this person has any future plans,
you know, if police know any of.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
This, they're not sharing interesting And now the shooting took place.
Was it in a classroom or a classroom building?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
It was in a classroom. It appears to have been
perhaps in or near a classroom within a academic building, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Okay, and was there video of there's no video of
this or.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
None that is being shared, and then that has been
a real source of contention that people are having with
law enforcement with Brown University because there is this a
stunning lack of video considering the climate in which we
live now and where we're practically being surveiled at all times.
There seems to be no video from inside the building.
(04:03):
The one did a video that they have shared of
a suspect, of a potential suspect anyway, is basically showing
a dark figure, doesn't really show this person's face and
shows that you know the person is. The video is
being taken from sort of like the reverse angle of
the way the person is walking away from the camera,
So it isn't perhaps maybe all that helpful in terms
(04:25):
of seeing someone's identity. It might maybe the person's walk
or body movement might jog someone's memories or something, but
it's really just not much to go on.
