Speaker 1 (00:00):
At eight thirty eight over to the Legacy Retirement Group
dot com phone line.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Let's say good morning to a good buddy of mine.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Haven't talked to you in a while, Mike from JSB
Home Solutions.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
How are you doing, brother?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Hey Mike, great to hear from you. I'm doing great, man,
How are you great?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Thanks for checking in. It's been a while.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Hopefully you guys have had a good summer over there
at JSB eliminating ugly kitchens and eliminating ugly bathrooms one
at a time.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
We sure do like to do that. Yeah, we've had
a really good summer. It's been really busy, been able
to lot help out a lot of Columbus homeowners. Looking
forward to the fall. It's always a good time for us.
So we're excited about that. Probably not as excited as
somebody who may win that power ball tomorrow night, but
we'll see.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, no doubt, no doubt. I want to talk.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
There's the Central Ohio Home and Design Show which is
coming up this weekend. You guys are going to be
at I want to get to that in a second.
But I always like to check in with you from
time to time and talk about remodeling. Trends and things
people can do in their case chens and baths to
to upgrade a little bit and just kind of, you know,
polish it up a little bit. You know, we often

(01:07):
talk about the trend of the you know, the super bright,
the white on white kitchens where you've got the white countertops,
the white cabinets, the white backsplash in the walls. And
I think the last time we spoke, Mike is you
said you're starting to see people add little pops of
color now in their kitchen.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Is that still the trend?

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Absolutely? Honestly, we're seeing a lot more movement towards warm colors.
So even if it is that white that people are
going with, it's more of an off white. It's warm,
it's homey, it's cozy, if you will. It's not nearly
as sterile and stark as that trend of that bright
white kitchen that seemed to be what we did all

(01:49):
the time for so many years. And so warm tones,
warm whites, natural woods, warm greens, warm blues kind of
kind of seem to be leading the way right now.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
And what about the product for a countertop, I mean,
it's a long long it's been long time. It's been
you want to granite countertop. You're starting to see people
move away from granted too.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Right, Absolutely, Quarts is definitely the front runner as far
as countertops, simply because, in my opinion, the no maintenance
factor to it. Yeah, there are some downsides to quartz,
but let's face it, Mike, there's some doubt sides to
grant it as well. Uh, and so it's kind of
a giver or take. But Courts is primarily what's dominating

(02:35):
the market, and for one reason, the simplicity, the ease
of clean like I said, but also when people open
an open Pinterest, when they watch AHGTV, mostly what they're
seeing are these Courts countertops, and so that's their design
inspiration and that's what leads them to the courts. And
then the bonus factor is is that they love that

(02:57):
it's affordable and they love that it's no maintenance, because
who wants to maintain a countertop?

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Right? And we I was kind of I was kind
of concerned about that.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I mean, you guys came in to put a quartz
countertop in our kitchen and uh, it's amazing. I love
it and it's easy to clean, and like as you said,
it was affordable. And I was worried about that because
I'm thinking, nah, you know what. Granted it's kind of
the standard bearer for for a countertop, but it seems
like not anymore. Speaking with Mike from JSB Home Solutions,

(03:27):
So what are some things that people can do in
their kitchens that they just want to you know, maybe
they're they're going to call you and they're gonna get
you scheduled to come out and take a look and
and maybe do some business and remodel the kitchen or
the bath. But what are some things people can do, uh,
low budget, just to kind of spruce things up a little,
maybe just a little hack before the before you come

(03:47):
out and do you know the demo and do all
this stuff in the kitchen.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
They want to get just kind of buffet up before
the holidays.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, so with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming, obviously a little
bit behind the eight ball and to a full remodel
by that timeframe. So some holiday hack for a kitchen,
something like a removable island like a prep station, adds
more prep space for you somewhere near the kitchen. Uh,

(04:15):
and then when you're done, you can just you know,
they make them on wheels. Now you can find them
really fairly affordable priced. You can just roll it into
another room until the next party. For a bathroom, things
like Fawcetts hardware, lighting, holiday scented candles, and either space,
kitchen or bathroom. Fresh towels. You'd be surprised that the

(04:37):
difference fresh towels can make because let's be off, Let's
be honest, how often do we change our towels and
our good joint You know, a fresh towel may change
everything in there, you never know. But just stuff like
that that can really low budget. You can do it
in fifteen to twenty minutes. A new faucet in the kitchen,
a couple of new light fixtures that remove it like

(04:59):
a folding table even with a nice tablecloth on it,
can give you some more prep space, can give you
some more space to lay out your holiday spread while
at the same time not breaking your budget. And then
when the holidays are over and you're ready for a
full remodel, that's where we come in.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah, I mean you mentioned hardware. It's it's so amazing
when you just simply replace the you know, the cabinet
handles or the pulls on the drawers. What a difference
that makes in your kitchen something so little and seemingly insignificant,
it's not.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
It makes a big difference, doesn't it.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
And you know there's an array of hardware out there,
and so you take a trip down to one of
the big box stores. You can take a trip to
your computer, your phone, Amazon have hardware there. The next
day and within thirty minutes, give yourself a little freshen
up in the bathroom, in the kitchen before your family
and friends come over for the holidays. That's probably the

(05:54):
quickest and easiest way to make the most impact for
the family members and friends that are coming this holiday season.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Mike from JSB Home Solutions.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
When you guys do a kitchen remodel, say you're just
doing countertop backsplash, maybe some new hardware.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
How long of a project typically does that? Does that?
How long does that take?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Typically you're looking about three to five days. You're gonna
have some downtime there because the countertops have to be
measured and then they have to be fabricated, and that's
about about a three to four day process.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
But as starts.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Switching out hardware, backsplash, countertops, you're probably looking at a.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Three to four day Now, if you add in a
new kitchen cabinets, that's going to take more time.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Sure you're adding in about another week or so. We've
got a pretty streamlined process down where we can get
in and out of a kitchen in about ten to
twelve working days. So you're not looking at three four
months long of a project unless there's some extensive work
to be done. But simply twitching out cabinets for cabinets
like for like counters, faucet and backsplash, you can have

(07:01):
that done at about ten to twelve business.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Which is nothing when you think about what you're getting
and you know the price you're paying and how good
your kitchen is gonna look. I mean, ten days of
being mildly inconvenience is absolutely worth it, all right.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
So you guys are going to be at the Central Ohio.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Home and Design Show this weekend Friday and Saturday at
the Ohio Expo Center in the Bricker Building.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
What's going on there?

Speaker 3 (07:27):
So this is the fall show. There's going to be
vendors there from all different types of remodeling, from flooring
to kitchens to bathrooms, additions to painting to all of it.
I think I even saw some art studios in there
when we were setting up yesterday. So it's Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday. It's the great opportunity to come down. And

(07:50):
really it's like everything you wish you could see in
person when you look all this stuff up on the internet.
So we're such an internet driven culture and we want
to look up. We look all this stuff up and
then we're like, we see a picture and we're like, man,
I wish I could see that in person. That's what
the home show is. It's all the vendors in Central Ohio,

(08:11):
including us, lined up and really the most important thing
is for you to come down, get some design inspiration,
meet some of our consultants, while at the same time
walk around and really see who you connect with. I mean,
see who you trust. Just from an easy three to
five minute, no pressure conversation. I think it's the best

(08:33):
way to see who you actually want to entertain as
far as who's going to do these projects for you.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
And you make a really good point of People can
search on the internet for a lot of things, but
until you see it and are able to touch it
and feel it, it makes a huge d It's like
buying a car. You can you can pull up the
car dealership's website and take a look, but until you
go to the lot and actually get into it and
feel it and get that new car spill, you don't
really know what you're getting. Same thing with you know,

(08:58):
kitchen remodeling or bad modeling. You want to be able
to see the materials that you're going to be using
and touch them and see how they feel and look
in person. So it's a great opportunity to do that.
And you will be there Central Ohio Home and Design
Show Friday, Saturday ten to six, Sunday ten to five,
Ohio Expo Center, and you will be there in person
this weekend.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Mike, I will be there Friday and Saturday, and then
our awesome team of design consultants and marketing folks will
be there the rest of the weekend as well.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Well, go see Mike, tell them we sent you, and
to have a great weekend. Michael, thanks for the information.
Appreciate it.
