Speaker 1 (00:00):

Watch Towers, the fabulous Thunderbirds will be playing a little
postgame concert, free concert.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Wrap it up, yeah with them tough enough, tough enough,
and again I hope it's hope it's a victory party
after that would be outstanding. Also on campus this weekend,
he is Anthony Russo, host of the podcast The Truth
Will Set You Free on the Legacy Retirement Group dot
com phone line. Anthony, good morning, I want to talk
about your campus visit, what you're gonna be doing here

(00:51):
in a minute.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
How are you, sir, doing fantastic? How are you guys
doing very good?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Thanks for jumping on with us this morning.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
I want to just kind of go around the horn
and talk about a couple of hot news items. Where
do you stand on this flag burning thing that kind
of popped yesterday last couple of days here, President Trump
said he wanted to put anybody in jail for a
year who was caught desecrating or burning the American flag.
And this is this is protected at the moment by

(01:21):
the First Amendment. Where do you stand?

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yeah, it should be protected. I mean, this is this
goes under the category of I don't agree with everything
Trump is doing insane. I think it's the clap back
on the people talking about if you burn a transgender flag,
it's a hate crime. I really don't know what an
endgame is on it. I don't love it, I don't
like it. I don't think it fits. I just it's

(01:44):
it's it's unconstitutional to stop that protective free speech. Again,
it's just the same as as Colin Kaepernick, for example,
he was allowed to take a knee. I'm also allowed
to say that I completely disagree and I think that
he's an idiot. The same type thing. You're allowed to
burn a flag, that's what makes America America. At the
same time, I'm allowed to say that is a piece

(02:06):
of garbage. Human being. So it's just it's not something
that should be deemed if you can have a stance
and make it a one year a one year a penalty,
it just it's not right.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I tend to agree with you.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
We talked about this yesterday, and you know, I was
talking about this offline with some people yesterday suggested that
this could get up to the Supreme Court, and they could.
They could, considering the makeup of the court, reverse this
and make this a criminal act by burning the American flag.
And I'd be fine with that if that was if
that's where we were in this country, where it's not

(02:41):
protected speech or not a First Amendment Act, I'd be
okay with that. But until then it is protected, and
you know, I don't think it's And there were some
qualifiers in Trump's executive order as well. It's only if
there's an intent to incite violence or there's some terrorism
connections there, So there are some qualifiers there.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
But I think I tend to agree with you on that.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Yeah, Yeah, And I have heard the same thing that
the executive Order does have some burbage in there that
is in its cut and dry as like you burn
a flag, you go to jail. I've heard there is
a little bit more to it.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, absolutely, Speaking with Anthony Russo, political strategist, host of
the podcast The Truth Will Set You Free.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
What about national Guard in it was very effective?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Well, it was very effective in Los Angeles when they
were sent there to kind of calm down the rioting
and all of the unrest there. It was very effective
in d C. We're at I think we're over a
thousand arrests. Crime has dropped in Washington, d C by
double digits. President now wants to send the National Guard
to Chicago. I like how mainstream legacy media frames that

(03:45):
as Trump is threatening to send the National Guard. How
about Trump is offering to send the national Guard into help.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
It's the mental gymnastics of the left on what happened
in DC is overwhelmingly obvious. It is the is the
proof that no matter what Donald Trump does, they are
going to disagree with it. They're going to be upset
and they're going to say, well, why didn't he just
authorize more money being spent for the police part? Well,
first off, your local officials have that ability. Your DEI

(04:18):
police chief didn't allow it, didn't even know what collaboration
was like you understand how that worked. In fact is
if you just add more police to a system where
they're not allowed to chase people, arrest people, all these
different things, nothing will change. With that said, I've got
friends in DC that in some areas said they didn't
notice any different except for the fact that they could
that it took longer for them to order their food,

(04:40):
which I thought was a weird comment. Again, these are
leftists that I know. At the same token, I've heard
other people say that things were just quieter and it
was more peaceful. And obviously the crime statistics that are
not done by people that have Trump's best interest in
mind are showing that there is a massive drop. So
if you're going to quote unquote threaten to come to
Chicago at this point, I don't think it's the end

(05:01):
of the world for.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
The people of Chicago.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
They're going to find a way to think that it's terrible,
but at the end of the day, crime is going
to go down.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
It's so funny.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
He's anti crime, he has a plan, this is what
people voted for him for, and yet here the Democrats
are soft on crime, and you know they he takes
a stance on crime. They take a stance and they're
pro criminal. I just my brain doesn't work that way, Anthony.
I can't.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
It's actually very exhausting trying to figure out the minds
of the left.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
But that's a different conversation.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
So you've been doing some research on the best pizza
places on campus because you're going to be at the
Ohio State University this Saturday as a part of the
Fox broadcast.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
What do you got going on?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Yeah, I was at a reference to to Portnoy's first game.
I know that he's not loved in Ohio, so Ohio
State has become a second home for me as I'm
the MC for Fox Big Nude Kickoff, I know that
there's going to be a lot of traction this week
with ESPN. It's Lee Lee Corso's final game college Game Day,
but it is obviously the biggest game in college footall

(06:05):
one of the biggest kickoff games in a long, long
time in college football. So I've been the MC since
twenty eighteen for Fox Digniu and Kickoff. I guts to
watch that group pro. I love the guys I work with.
I love the fact that there's drama around Portnoy and
him being there and him being banned from inside the stadium.
I've always loved Dave Portnoy. I know your listeners might

(06:25):
have liked me thirty seconds now. So we set up
right at the r pack and we've we've been I mean,
we do a lot of Ohio State games. Obviously we're
there for the unfortunate Ohio State Michigan game last year
that I'm a big I've been out of all the
schools we go to for fourteen weeks. I'm on the
road now and this is gonna be a great kickoff.
But Ohio State is almost like a home game for us.

(06:47):
We've been there. We average two to four games a year,
I feel like in Columbus. So yeah, that's where.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I'm gonna be awesome and we cannot wait to watch
you on Fox doing the pre game there. So since
you mentioned Portnoy, what's the story there? I mean, is
a Fox thing?

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Is that? Is that an Ohio State thing?

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Ohio States denied that they banned him from the stadium,
but you know, you know Dave, I mean, he makes
a big deal about this kind of stuff, and you
know he has a little fun with that.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
What do you know, I don't know, because Dave was
doing a video yesterday and he's like, I'm banned. I
might be banned. I don't know if I'm baby. He's
kind of like he's kind of like Trump in his
own way of like even talking about but I mean,
obviously he is the biggest Michigan fan on the planet.
I don't know if it's a Connor Stallions reference, like
is he getta cheat while he's out there? They've said

(07:32):
that he's not. What I can tell you is as
of right now. The Fox broadcast goes inside with about
forty five minutes or so left before kickoff, and that's
when the whole team, you know, Rob Stone and Ingram
and all of them, Liner, Frady Quinn, etcetera. They all
go inside. So he right now is not set to
go inside at that point. So it sounds like the

(07:53):
band is real or maybe there's just there. Who knows,
there's stemming up some drama so we can compete with
a lead course final game. Again, I do firmly believe
we have a better show than College Game Day, but
College Game Day has obviously been around for forty years.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Yeah, and and I'll due respect to to Courso of course,
but I tend to agree with you.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I do like the Fox product a lot better, There's
no doubt.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
So so you're gonna be You're gonna be where again,
You're gonna be the r pack, and you're gonna be
doing the what time are you on the area on it?

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Well, so I'm the I'm the crowd host. So you'll
see meandering like statsquatch behind the group. I'm not really
an on camera guy, but I will be. I'll be
entertaining the crowd leading up to the game. I think
we start at we go live on TV at nine am.
I will be starting at seven am to rally the
troops and get people excited.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
And so let's talk about the game. Do you have
any thoughts?

Speaker 1 (08:44):
I mean, it's it's number one Texas, number three Ohio State,
and it's it's a huge game. It's the biggest game
of the weekend, maybe one of the bigger games of
the season. But the way that the College Football Playoff
is set up now, Anthony, it doesn't have a lot
of consequence win or.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Lose well because because it is one verse three, because
it is a two point five point favorite for OSU.
If it's a closed game, it doesn't hurt your season
either way. Yeah, you will be able to lose another one.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
You be back.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Your back will be against the wall the rest of
the season and then maybe being able to lose one
at the very end. But Ohio State, as Texas has said,
the targets on Ohio State's back. Even though Texas number one,
I'm surprised Texas ranked number one with Arch Manning, who
has the potential be a great, great quarterback, he's still
a little fresh and he's a little green. And at
the same token, the odds actually for Texas to win

(09:34):
the national title or they're the thirty odds on favorite,
which is tough to think that they're going to come
out of the sec upscapes and start with Ohio State.
In Ohio State, I think Ohio State rides a little
bit of the train from last year. Both teams have
a decent amount of turnover. I'm still going to give
to the not to Ohio State by three
