Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's get semi serious with Bob Clegg. He
is our GOP strategist home base right here, Delaware, Ohio.
The Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone line, Robert, how
are you this one.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Of my friend good Mike. We don't have to get that.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Serious though, Good Well, you tend to keep it light,
which I appreciate and that's why we love talking to you.
So it looks like Congress has greenlit the release of
the Epstein files, both the House and the Senate pretty overwhelmingly.
Now it goes to Trump's desk for him to sign,
and he's indicated he will.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
So what's next, Well, I think what will be next
is the Justice Department will look through the files and
make sure that there's no victim names that have not
already been made public will not be made public. And
I've heard there, you know, could be some national security
issues that could be involved because some of these files
(00:58):
deal with other countries and the head of states of
other countries. So I don't know, I don't know what exactly,
you know, they're going to try to redact or not,
but the President was right, it just get it out there,
you know. I'm I'm of the group that believed that
if there was anything really bad in those files about
(01:20):
Donald Trump, the Biden White House would have gotten it
out years ago. So I don't think there's going to
be anything all that surprising, you know, involving President Trump.
What we have seen though, in the last day or so,
is that there are multiple Democrats that had rather close
(01:43):
connections with Jeffrey Epstein, one being Larry Summers, who was
the Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton and then became president
of Harvard University and then became part of Barack Obama's
economic advisor guru, and he had very close ties. He
was asking a convicted sex offender advice on dating, and
(02:10):
you know, and then you had King Jeffreys, the minority
leader of the House, He had somebody from his campaign
reach out to Epstein, who was a convicted sex defender
at that time, asking for money for his campaign. The
best one was the delegate from virgin Island who is
(02:32):
texting with Jeffrey Epstein while he was in federal prison
in twenty nineteen getting his advice on what questions to ask.
Michael Cohen who was before a House committee who Michael
Cohen was the former Attorney for Donald Trump, and he
hated Trump so much he was trying to help her
(02:54):
as much as he could. I mean, this is a
guy who was a convicted sex offender and a federal
prison facility at the time, and she is testing with
them and asking the questions that he wanted to ask.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, that's it's it's it's a bad look, Bob. I
don't know how much of what you just described as
actually illegal or criminal activity, you know. So that's but
so that's the question that it boils down to, are
we going to find a bunch of stuff like that,
which is you know, maybe really embarrassing and really bad
optics and maybe could could spurn maybe some more investigations
(03:34):
that come out of this. But at the end of
the day, it's more embarrassing activity and association with Epstein
than actual criminal activity, which is I think what we
want to find.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah, I mean, if there was any and that was
the other thing that might be redacted, is if there
any current uh federal investigations that are still going on
involving Jeffrey Epstein and his whole you know, operation uh
the those would be redacted. But I think we're pretty
much done with all of that, So whatever charges would
(04:05):
have come out of all this, I think would have
come out by now.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
You're right. It's going to be just a lot of
embarrassment for a lot of people because it seems like,
remember he was convicted down in Florida, like in two
thousand and seven, two thousand and eight of sexual offenses.
So after that, you still had a number of individuals
high up in government and finance and everything that was
(04:33):
still you know, in contact with them. And we just
saw what happened in Great Britain with Prince Andrew. I mean,
you know, he stayed in touch with them after all that.
So that's what it's going to be, just a lot
of embarrassments. The Democrats thought they could use this against
President Trump, I think they're finding out they really can't.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Yeah, and that's that's really sort of the whole tragic
thing behind this. Speaking with GOP strategist Bob Clegg, is
there were crimes that were committed here against young girls.
It's absolutely disgusting, and it's gotten politicized to the point
where we sometimes forget about the victims in this whole situation.
And that's really what I think, where I think the
(05:13):
effort should be focused. But we shall see. It's going
to be an interesting couple of days.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
All right.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
I want to switch gears and come back home to
the state of Ohio. We're a year away, less than
a year away from the midterms and the governor's race
in the state. Doctor Amy act in the vike Ramaswami
and there was some there was some polling done in
a week or so ago that had Doctor Amy act
In leading the vike Ramaswami. Who put this who was
(05:39):
behind the poll?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
I thought it was Data for Progress or something like that,
some group like that. I think it was put together
to try to convince Tim Ryan not to jump in
to the to the Democrat primary. I mean, I think
you know their concern now that if he jumps in
the prime, you're going to have the battle that have
(06:02):
just occurred in New York City occurring here in Ohio,
where you're going to have Amy Acting on the progressive
side fighting, you know, the establishment Democrat candidate Tim Ryan,
and and it's that battle within that the party that
is going to in the end caused them a lot
of problems. So I think they're trying to avoid that
here in Ohio. Even though some Democrats that I've talked
(06:25):
to believe that Tim Ryan could be a potentially a
stronger candidate. I don't think he will be, but you
know some do. So that's the problem that they're going
to have all across this country next year. You know
where they're they in In New York State, they got
all these you know, socialist candidates that are going to
be running against Hakeem Jefferies has got now a primary
(06:48):
opponent out of the uh you know, socialist side. I mean,
it's it's a mess for them
