Is the US in danger of drone strikes?

Any big clancy. You're just gonna just hunker down and hide.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yeah, it's still a little bit of a hunker downboaw
down here as we still have all those New Yorkers
are on break. They're still bathing re streets, you know,
good because everyone else here is going back to school.
So for the locals, you know, it's sort of there.
It's only the tourists who are out and about these days.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
You know, a story we haven't talked much about in
I mean, the news cycle, as you will know, is
just it's almost impossible to keep up. But this, you know,
the story we haven't heard much about is peace talks.
And you were Ukraine. What's going on? We we had,
you know, the meetings with Trump and with Putin and
with Zolensky and where do we sit now?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Well, right, it was two weeks ago today.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
That's a big summit.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Happened in Alaska, and then the Monday that followed we
had all the European leaders at the White House, but
really not a lot of progress. In fact, you could
say things have fallen backwards a bit. You know, this
week Russia launched i think its second largest drone and
missile attacks since the war began more than three years ago,
and we saw what nearly twenty three or more than

twenty three fatalities have been confirmed, and even some of
the damage was inflicted on the EU building, the offices
there in Kiev. So what we're seeing is an escalation
in the attacks by the Kremlin. And this at a
time when President Trump has said repeatedly he thinks that
Putin wants peace.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Interesting, and you know you mentioned the drone attacks, and
that's the new modern warfare, right. I mean, are we
preparing here in the US for possible drone attacks?

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Well we are. In fact, Axios had the exclusive access
to a fascinating test this week. It'd love to have
seen this in Indiana where they actually had technology that
can knock drones out of the sky. Yeah, that technology exists,
but this is doing it on a mass scale, and
that's the real concern. That if there is some sort
of a drone attack, it's not just one little drone

coming at you, it's perhaps hundreds of them all being
sent to a target. And this is exactly the kind
of target that this technology is out to get. It's
these clouds of drones that could be invading and a
fascinating field test this week of the technology that really
is twenty first century warfare.
