Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, seven forty in the morning, let's go over
to the Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone line and
check in with coach Bill Conley, part of our best
Buck Guy coverage. Of course, we've got Bucks Line tomorrow
night and Bill, we've been talking about the beat Michigan
Bucks Line on Monday Edison Brewing Company. Of course, bucks
Line Live dot com is where you buy your tickets.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
This is a great This is our fifth annual.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Can you believe that, man Tom flying by?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
It really is Bill, And it's such a good time
at Edison Brewing Company in Gahanna. You're there with Matt
and Bill and Roy and a bunch of former Buck
guys and signing autographs. Everybody's in a good mood, having
a good time, having some food. So looking forward to
seeing you out there.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Man.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Wait, yeah, but we got to win this one, there's
no doubt about it. So we're gonna change some things,
maybe up in our nod Enemy presentation this year.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
That's what that's what I heard.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
We're gonna just kind of kind of go up a
little bit, spice it up, go to the rally caps
and do something a little different, try to change the luck.
And I have a feeling it's gonna work, but we'll
save that for next week's discussion. Let's talk about this week,
you know, and the big storyline Bill is the injuries.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
You're kind of mysterious.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Don't know exactly what's wrong with Carnell Tait, Jeremiah Smith.
Carnell's not played in a couple of games. Number four
got in for a little bit last week, but then
came out and did not play most of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Do you have any insider trading information on these guys.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Well, I was gotting my car last night and there's
this possibly in the middle of the road. As my
car got up to jumped up, tried to scare me
off the road. I think we might be playing a
little possible. I think we'll be okay. Our receivers will
be ready to go. I'm not sure that this week
we're going to see him our two starters every quarter
(01:48):
of play, but I think we'll be okay. The big
thing get ready by next week.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
That's interesting because that crossed my mind.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Maybe Ryan Day playing a little chess while everyone else
is playing checkers, and you know, maybe there was a
little smoke where there's fire.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
If there was a little dinged up injury.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
But maybe they're holding them out just not only out
of precaution, but you know, you don't want to let
anybody game plan. You don't want to, you know, make
give anybody any any more information than they maybe have to.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, that's right, but you know, obviously they're a little
dinged up. But you know, and Jeremiah Smith last week,
you know he's hobbling the decent amount. But again, you know,
the last game of the year, the big game of
the year, conference game that the one season itself, all
players will be ready.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Meanwhile, you've got Brandon Innis, guys like Max Claire saying,
I'm feeling real good, coach throwing me the ball.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yeah, I'll tell you I've been pressed. That tells you
the depth we have on this football team. Tell you
what great job at my house they's done recruiting the
last few years, because it seemed like the next guy
goes in. It's pretty good too.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Coach they coached.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
The running game looked better than it had been all year.
Not that it wasn't good, but I mean, and it
was exceptional. And I realize that, you know, they were
not very good against the run. We all we all
figured that out, But I mean, are you going to
see more of that against Rutgers? I mean, what what
are we looking at from Schiano's bunch.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yeah, I think we'll see the same amount they're rotating
guys in and then the three the three guys that
played average seven yards security or more so, they did
have a great game. This would be a good opportunities
against Rutgers because they're a decent offensive team, but they're
not a very good defensive team. And so the chance
was put up some points both ways in the air
(03:36):
and via the run.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Coach College football playoff rankings came out yesterday. Of course,
Ohio State still nemb won that, Indiana Texas A and
M three Georgia up to four, Texas Tech five and
then the middle of the pack in the top twelve
of your Oregon's, your Oklahoma's, your Notre Dames does And
I asked Matt McCoy this earlier this morning, does any
does anybody scare you at this point?
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Is anybody going you look at the schedule? Goal boy?
I'm sure hope they don't face them in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
No, I don't think you can fear anybody right now
because I think obviously there's a reason why we're ranked
number one, And of course, of the big game everybody's
talking about, besides the Michigan game we always talk about
each year is the Indiana game, which, if things go
the way they shoot, we should be playing them in
the Big Ten Championships. So that'd be interesting because they
have a really good offense, we got a great defense,
(04:25):
and I think fans they altern a lot of television
and I'll tell you what, Mike, because everybody wants to
see those two teams play against each other.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yeah, that would be a heck of a matchup.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
And uh and you could also argue, no matter who
wins or who loses that game in the Big Ten
Championship Game, it's very possible that that both teams will
remain in the top four still get that first round.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
By exactly right, there's no doubt there will be if
both teams go into the uh you know, the championship game,
Big Ten Championship Game undefeated, both are gonna make it
the playoffs and very very good chance to get to
each other again.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Meet up again. I know what a scenario.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
All right, coach, you got the Rutgers scarlet Knights at
Big newon Kickoff on Fox on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
What do we know about Rutgers?
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Well, let me tell you something you probably don't. I'm
give you a couple of things. They might. Number one,
you know who the quarterback of the Rutgers at that time?
They were not the Scarlet Knights. They were the Shanta
Clears ros after rooster. All right, Now, do you know
who their quarterback was the mid twenties?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
You say the mid twenties, yeaes Mike was just outside
his eyes.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Yeah, I was only in my teens. Then come on,
coach what No, who's the quarterback then?
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Ozzie Nelson?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Ozzie Nelson.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
No Nelson, Man, I'll tell you what. Ricky Nelson's dad.
They had the television show The Real.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Nelson was a quarterback for Rutgers. Wow. Yeah, the birthplace
of football.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, here's the thing. That's it. One thing you do
want to do in New Jersey. You're not allowed to
serve an elephant alcohol. Personally, I personally think that's a
pretty good law. The last thing you want is an
elephant walking around drunk.
