Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coming up on about six forty eight in the morning,
Mike Kelly, Columbus Morning News, let's say good morning to
Roy O'Neil NBC News Radio on the Legacy Retirement Group
dot com phone line. So this dust up last week
Rory where I think it was a handful of six
or so of members of Congress called on the US
military to refuse what they called unlawful orders, and that

(00:22):
got a lot of people interested. And Mark Kelly, Senator
Mark Kelly Arizona, he's being investigated by the Pentagon for
his role in these videos. What's going on right?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Because he's a retired Navy captain. He's also a former astronaut.
But because he's a retired Navy captain, he could be
subject to further actions by the Pentagon for some of
his comments. As President Trump said there, he accused him
of being guilty of sedition of crime that's punishable by debt.
So the Pentagon is launching this investigation. We've really never

(00:55):
seen anything quite like this. Typically they'll bring people back
to active duty to prosecute them if, for instance, it
was something they did in Afghanistan ten years ago and
they've since retired, and you go back to what they
did while on active duty to prosecute. But that that's happened,
but he would have retired is different.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Okay, So, but he wasn't the only former military member
of Congress to be in these videos, correct.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Right, But he is retired. The other ones, the ones
a CIA officer, others are in militaryvy and army, but
they they're described as being separated from their military service,
so they're not under the jurisdiction of the US military
god of criminal justice.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Okay, interesting delineation there, Roy O'Neil, NBC News Radio. So
what I mean, is this going to go anywhere? What
are the what's the possible fallout here?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Probably not much of an I didn't think so. Probably
a lot of yelling and screaming and table banging, but
we'll see, you know, you know, yeah, Look, they're going
up to Kelly because Kelly wants to run for president, right,
or at least he wants his name in the mixes
of running mate. He was on the shortlist with Kamala
Harris before, and you know, he was on with Rachel
Maddow last night, you know, so, yeah, he's trying to

(02:09):
raise his profile intentionally as well.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
