Monday when I talked to him, and I was dead
wrong about Matt Patricia this summer when they hired him,
I kind of threw a flag on that higher and
I said, I'm not sure. He hasn't coached at the
college level in a long time. In fact, he hasn't
coached really at all in a long time. He had
a break from the NFL for a while. He didn't

do well as a head coach in Detroit. But boy,
he has got these guys just firing on all cylinders
on d.

How would you like to try to be an offense
trying to figure out how to block our defense? No,
I say, we are playing so good up front, our
secondary is playing solid, and a good thing about it
is we can get to the quarterback just with our
front four so far and their quarterback, they had to
watch him. That guy was really good, especially carrying them
all third down situations and stuff, and we shut him down.

He had negative yards trying to rush the ball. Of course,
we did have a bunch of sacks too, which helps
out sure. But I tell you what, rbo Reice playing
linebacker there has done a great job and so sunny
all cylinders of defense, for sure.

And you talk about the offensive side of the ball,
give credit to Julian Sam You got this young kid,
never never played a road game, gets his first start
Big Ten matchup on the road, hostile environment.

I mean, he was cool as a cucumber.

You got that right. And I'll tell you what, he'd
better be buying those linemen some stick dinners because they
are protecting him. They got to him one time Washington
Lady game. But I'll tell you what. They are really
playing well run and passed, So both lines, I think
is a really strong point of this football team so far.
And that's a surprise. Normally your lines are the ones
that are the last to really get things going. But

our offensive against the lines are playing great.

not quite clicking on all cylinders just yet, just a
little bit. It seems like just a little bit of
rust here and there. But you know, what would you
like to see as they take on Minnesota on Saturday.
Is there something that you want to see more than

Yeah? I think our rushing game. You know, they're really
good against the rush. They're one of the best in
the Big Ten against the rush. And we have you know,
we have become more balanced. You know, we can throw
the ball all over the place side receivers and we
got time to throw it, but we really needed to
stabs the running attack. Bo Jackson has really come on.
We know he had eighty yards in the game the
other day, but if we can get a real good

balance on that run pass, we are gonna be really
tough to defend.
