Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, let's get to Terry Terry Shilling on the Legacy

(00:02):
Retirement Group dot com phone line. Terry at the American
Principals Project. Boy, there's a we have our choice of
topics this morning, Terry. I want to get to the
situation in LA in the violent anti ice riots. We've
got the Elon Musk Donald Trump little spat going on.

(00:22):
It was actually a pretty good weekend for online social
media feuds. You had the Trump Musk thing going on,
and then the Simone Biles Riley gains This one, I
know is very close to you. This was a situation
after Riley Gaines was critical of the Minnesota high school
softball team won a state championship using a transgender pitcher.

(00:46):
This is girls softball. They had a person that was
born in male as the pitcher, and that person threw
a shutout to help this high school win the national
championship or the state championship. And you know, she went
on to say that's to be expected when your star
player is a boy, and Simone Biles responded by calling

(01:06):
her sick and that she should be uplifting transgender athletes,
and it just sort of spiraled downhill from there. But
you know, what are your thoughts on the Riley Gains
Simone Biles battle over the weekend?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Well, look, thanks so much for having me again. Like
I love you know, I love coming on having our conversations.
That the thing here is obviously Riley's right. Riley cares
about one thing and that is women and girls opportunities
in sports. She's a victim of these males who claim
to be men or who claim to be women and
then go and destroy women in the competitions. I will

(01:40):
say that the guy that Lee or that Riley had
to go against Leah Thomas, he actually tied her. So,
like she points out all the time, she didn't lose
to a guy. She tied with a guy, which is
even more pathetic for him. But it's the whole thing
is just silliness, right, Simone Biles needs to stand up
for actual women. Apparently she's adopted this lie that men

(02:02):
can become women and women can become men. We know
it's not true. But what's really sad is that these
girls in Minnesota that lost this championship. Imagine working your
way all the way up to the championship game. This
is the best the two best teams, right, they're both
getting hits, they're both you know, doing strikeouts. The thing is,
imagine going your entire rotation, the entire game without any

(02:24):
of your players getting a single hit, all because there
was a guy pitching on the other team. It's not fair.
It's not why we set up women's sports. We can
get back to the basics and get back to fairness.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
I wonder how girls on the winning team feel. I mean,
by by one account, you're happy you've won a state
championship and maybe you've contributed, maybe with a home run
or you know, another good play, and you're obviously a
good softball player because you got that far. But you
know deep down that your team won a state championship

(02:57):
with a boy as a pitcher. And that's got to
be conflicting.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
It is, it has to be. And the thing is,
you don't want those types of trophies, like don't you
want to win outright? Don't you want to win without
the other team having any real excuse? You know, I've
always actually kind of felt bad for Chiefs fans because
they always get those calls at the at the end
of the game, you know, that throw it the other way.
But it's it's just about Fearence. That's what this fight's about,

(03:23):
and that's what Roy's going to stand for, and that
she's not afraid of of someone like Simone Biles because
she knows she's right.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Yeah, it's uh, and it got it got nasty, and
you know, Simone was like, go pick on someone your
own size, which would be ironically a male, and then
Riley Gaines is like shooting video of her husband, like
with a measuring tape and she's like, yeah, I'm five
to five. I'm not the size of a man. I'm
five to five. So it got kind of nasty.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
You know, this is these some of these silly things
that you know, don't affect a lot of people day
to day. It's they're all playing out on social media,
but they really are important. And we need to figure
this out, don't we.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
No, we do. And and look it's the whole nation's
kind of divided, right you're seeing this this spat right
now between Trump and Elon. We've got to work together
and we've got to stop the name call. The name
calling doesn't really help, right. And then look, I get
that you got to stand up for yourself. You shouldn't
take any grief from anyone. But I do think a
lot can come from just accepting small annoyances with just

(04:26):
a little bit of laughter. Right, And you know, we
just got to protect our girls. We got to get
to the next thing with our national debt, and we
got to get this rioting out of you know, under
control in California. It's absolutely crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Well, you brought out the Trump Musk feud. Let's talk
about that for a minute. Don't don't you think that
if if Donald Trump was in the Epstein files, and
I don't know if he is a reason, but if
he was, as Elon claimed, and he dropped that bomb,
I think on Friday, if if that was true, wouldn't
Democrats have dropped that long ago?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Oh? And they would have guaranteed that someone can like
like Kamala. They definitely would have used it against Trump
when Kamala was running against him, Right, And don't forget
that Donald Trump made a few mentions of Kamala's rise
to power with Mayor Willie Brown in San Francisco. Would
have been an easy retort. The reality is is that

(05:20):
they've thrown everything that they possibly can at Donald Trump,
and not once were they able to get close to
the Epstein stuff. It's so obvious he has no ties here.
And you know this isn't the only thing that Elon's
gotten wrong. Elon got into these governments. Into Doge, you
did a lot of great work identifying past expenditures that
were waste for an abuse, but he made it sound

(05:42):
like you could still cut this funding when it's already
been spent. Elon just he's new to politics. I feel
for him. I've been there before. You know, you sit
on the outside of politics, you think you can do
it better than everyone else, and you get in and
it's a lot more difficult. We just see the ceasefire
here because the country's at stake and we have big
problems to solve.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah. I mean he has been in cost cunning modes
for the last what five or six months now with DOGE,
and again I appreciate some of the things that he's done, So,
I mean his brain is kind of down that path
of like, let's cut, let's cut, and then he sees
what the the proposal is and the big beautiful bill
and what it's going to do to the deficit, and
he's he points it out and he has every right

(06:22):
to say I don't like this bill, but then to
make it personal I think was a kind of a
low blow there from Elon. And I don't know our
Democrats going to start driving teslas again because of this,
because they they flopped on him a minute ago. They were,
you know, torching Tesla dealerships when he was with Doge.
And now that he's you know, he and Trump are
odds at the I don't know they're going maybe kinda

(06:43):
like him again.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Well that that's what my buddies and I were joking
about this weekend, is who's Elon's customer base? That this
war which Trump keeps going on. You know, the Left's
not gonna go and start driving teslas again. They're going
to keep fire bombing. And now he has no constituency.
We got to get peace here. Because look, I have
a Model Y. I absolutely love it. Go zero sixty
and three seconds, it's great. I recommend everyone at least

(07:06):
try to drive a Tesla once in their life. But
let's just get to work. Americans are tired, they're exhausted
from all this NonStop fighting. They just want to get
to work and get back to their lives.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
And then finally, the other big story of course we've
been covering all morning is these riots in LA the
anti ice protests that they started as protests, mostly peaceful,
I might add, until they moved downtown over the weekend.
Then they started getting violent and you know, burning, burning
evs and throwing bricks and you know, molotov cocktails and

(07:37):
police officers, and then President Trump called in the National Guard,
which I appreciate the decisiveness of that move. I mean,
it's being questioned by Gavin Newsom and the mayor there
bass in La as you know, we didn't need this.
I mean, look now that they're there, it doesn't matter
if you needed it or not. They're there. This is
what people voted for, right, They voted for law and order.

(07:59):
And Trump was very decisive and swift in his actions.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
You know, Mike, I'll tell you, I do a ton
of pulling for app and I have been shocked. You know,
we do the women's sports issue, like eighty percent of
Americans want men out of women's sports. The immigration numbers
are nearing that. I mean seriously, like with Trump and
his push to get back to law and order and
getting these illegals out of here. People want people, criminals

(08:26):
out of our country. They don't want cartel members in America,
and they don't get the riot just because we start
to crack down on our immigration laws. If you're here,
even if you're here legally, you're here as a guest, right,
So mind your manners and do your work and don't
riot and burn our cities down, and you're gonna be fine.
But you do this type of stuff, no one wants
you here anymore. Yeah. No, we've got to get back

(08:48):
to law and order.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
These are not innocent immigrants looking for a better life.
These these especially the ones that are coming out at night.
And you know when when the flags from other countries
come out, is where I start to have a problem.
I don't understand Terry that you're burning American flags the
country in which you purport to want to be in.
You're burning American flags and then flying the flag from

(09:10):
the country you don't want to go back to. I
just I did. Logically that makes no sense to me.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Well, try going and doing that in the UK or
France or Spain or Germany or any of these other nations.
They'll kick you out so fast you won't even be
able to think. Right, we need to start acting like
we care about our country and like we have some
pride in our country. These guys in the media, they're
so lame. We just Trump's doing the right thing. Everything's
gonna be fine, and Gavin Newsom should do some polling

(09:37):
on it because it's not in his favor
